QUESTION
WHAT HAVE YOU
LEARNED FROM
AUDIENCE FEEDBACK?
Facebook was key to our success. We used this as another way to gain information. We used this
because we found that it reached out to a lot of people and people were more keen to right a lot more
feed back.
Facebook was also a great format audience to use as it reached our specific target audience. On the
other hand we felt that some of this feedback was a bit biased as we were sharing it with our friends
and family therefore we made it both public so that anyone could watch it. We also messaged certain
past student media students so we could get more of a professional constructive criticism where they
talk about various different techniques and conventions to use
Whilst completing our first draft audience, feedback became key to the
development of our product. We used a varied approach to gathering this
feedback. One of these ways was through a survey. We created several
surveys on survey monkey both before we created our project and in-
between our drafts. Getting a survey before we started our project enabled
us to get the foundation of our music video that was applicable and
enjoyable for the audience that we were targeting.
For our first survey we started off with very generic questions such as what music should we use for our video;
however we did narrow this down for the audience as we wanted to use this certain genre. We also asked
question such as clothing and mise en scene (location). We found this very helpful for the infrastructure of our
music video that appealed to our audience. However when it came to after our draft we asked the audience to
then watch the music video and to then analyse it. We asked question like do you prefer slow or fast paced
editing? In what ways would you change this product to improve it? These questions were more of a personal
taste and gave us an idea as to what are audience enjoyed. As we aimed our music video for a 15-30 audience
we decided to get the people in our school to complete the survey. To then reach out to a vaster audience we
then shared this survey on twitter and Facebook. This gave us a advantage as we gathered much more
audience feedback and it reached to our ideal target audience.
