2. Introduction
For our music video, we decided to have a target audience
of teenage girls around the teenage age. This is because we
have decided on creating a music video based on the indie-
pop genre.
Our genre of music video had a large impact on choosing
our target audience. It is important that we had a specific
target audience when creating our music video as it has
allowed us to effectively develop our video and cater to
their specific expectations of what should be included in
our piece.
3. Peer Evaluation
• By receiving feedback from our peers, it gas allowed us to
consider different aspects to include in our music video.
For example, the feedback has allowed us to consider the
editing techniques and what makes them effective to our
target audience.

4. Planning – Pitch Feedback
Pitch feedback allowed us to see whether our target
audience understood the codes and conventions, as well as
theories and representations that we were trying to portray
within our music video. This is important for us to
consider as it is very important that we have the ability to
reach members of our target audience. Without this ability,
our piece would be unsuccessful.
5. Planning – Sketches
We chose this design for our magazine ad as it was
relatable back to the concept of love and loss. This is
important for us to highlight to our target audience as this
is one of the main aspects that a producer would advertise
the music video to the target audience members.
6. Social Media
• We used a range of social media, including Facebook,
Instagram, Snapchat and WhatsApp, in order to gain a
wide range of feedback from different members of our
target audience. This has been important for us to look at
as it has allowed us gain feedback from a range of people,
which allows us to gain a range of opinions on how to
improve the representation of the artist.

7. Class Sketches
• Class sketches have allowed us to consider what elements of our
planning would most fit the genre as well as the lyrics. This has been
beneficial for us in the planning stages as it has allowed us to consider
the best way in which to add and plan on how we were going to
produce an effective piece.
8. Survey Monkey
• From conducting our Survey Monkey we asked members of our target
audience questions about our music video. This then allowed us to
develop and improve our ideas for our music video. This has been
hugely beneficial for us when looking at the importance of audience
feedback as it has allowed us to consider what should be included in
order to produce the most effective piece when targeting a specific
audience.
9. Wordle
• From having access to a 'Wordle', it has allowed us to look a common
themes that occur in the lyrics of our music video. This then meant
that we were able to look at common ideas that we could apply to
the acting scenes, m-e-s and editing techniques that we could apply
to the music video. As well as this, it allowed us to look at lyrics that
have been repeated, highlighting elements of the music video that we
may consider to include.
10. Final Feedback
When considering our audiences feedback, it has been hugely influential on considering whether
members of our target audience would understand the codes and conventions of an indie-pop
music video. As well as this, it has showed us the specific areas of improvement that we would have
to include when considering the best way to reach a specific target audience.
From conducting interviews with our target audience, it has allowed us to consider which elements
that our target audience did and didn't like. This has been hugely beneficial when trying to get the
most effective feedback for the indie-pop genre. As well as doing this, we have been able to
consider the what parts that our audience like.
By conducting a peer interview, it has allowed us to look at the pros and cons of the music video. It
has allowed us to see which aspects our peers may have enjoyed and may not have, which is
essential when considering the impact that this will have on our target audience. As well as this, it
has allowed us to look at which elements need improving based on their opinions, which is
important . Overall, the peer feedback was successful as they enjoyed multiple elements of our
music video, such as the editing that we chose to include. However, we found that a lot of our peers
were unable to clearly understand the theorist, as we chose to interpret Levi-Strauss' theory of
binary opposites. From this, we found that we would have to find more creative ways to make this
clear to our audience.
