Camera
• Close up shots are used throughout the video. At the
beginning where Molly is singing, they really show the
emotion of the performance. We also see the close ups
of the piano playing, this shows she is talented which is
conventional for pop.
• POV shots are also used. One used while the girls are
throwing leaves at each other. This makes us feel part of
the video as we are actually put in the action.
Editing
• Effects of a video camera record overlay are used. These
make it feel like those shots are things the two girls have
filmed and makes it seem more real.
• Split screen of the four shots of the performance show
different angles. This emphasises her talent as it gives
the impression that she is doing many things at once.
Sound
• There is a part in the song which says ‘look into my
eyes’. At this point, there is an extreme close up shot of
one of the girls eyes.
• Throughout the performance shots there is a lot of lip
syncing, this is done fairly well however there are some
points where it doesn’t perfectly line up with the song.
• The majority of the shots are cut to the beat of the song.
Mise En Scene
• The black and white editing effect is used for the
performance part of the video. This gives off the
impression that the girl is sad/depressed as there is no
colour in her life anymore and looking back to the times
she was with her girlfriend were happy times which is
represented by them being in colour. The black and white
also gives off a very professional look.
• Casual clothing is worn by the girls, this makes the video
seem very realistic and relatable for many people of the
target audience.
