The document outlines a proposed music video concept that tells the story of a boy who receives devastating news in school. It begins with the boy happily participating in class before he is called to the principal's office. There, he learns that a sibling or friend has died, which causes him to run away in grief. Most of the video would show the boy running through different locations like woods and a field. Eventually he arrives at a tree where he digs up a box containing old photos, and looks through them with a tear falling on one. There is a boy at school happy and contributing in
class, we have an over the shoulder show which
then slowly zooms out and moves to a track shot.
From here it then moves outside the classroom and
to the lockers where we have a extreme close up
of one of the lockers. The camera then appears
inside where we see a phone being called
numerous times and see lots of missed call. We
then cut to he school phone where a teacher
picks up. It then cuts back to the boy back in class.
The teacher comes along and takes him out of the
lesson.

3. They then appear in office where the boy is looking
sad as they have given him bad news about a
sibling/ friend dying. From here he then storms out
of the room and starts running. Most of the video
will be him running (through woodland, town (we
could get some good shots here e.g. through the
trees). Until he finally gets to a tree in the middle of
a field which he then starts digging next to it to the
tree trying to find something. We then have a shot
which shows that it is a box. Then there is an over
the shoulder shot of him opening the box to see
photos. He looks through them and on the last shot
we see a tear drop on one of he photos.

4. Camera
For this idea we would be using a lot of different
camera techniques. The one we would use most
often are over the shoulder, establishing shot,
extreme close up, pan, track, and a high angle.
Also we would be able to have some effective
shots for example when running through the woods
the camera could be in the brush and have a pan
movement following the boy.

5. Editing
In the music video the editing would have a slow
build up to the action by creating tension.
However once the boy finds out the bad news the
pace of editing will then change to fast paced.

6. Mise en scene
I have lots of ideas for location. I intend for the
starting location to be at the school, then as the
songs gets to the running shots I intend to use a lot
of locations, for example woods, town, fields….
