The document summarizes Ben Prudhoe's evaluation of an FMP production process. In the research section, surveys and interviews helped understand the audience and gather important details. Planning was helpful for designing the layout and experimenting with visual elements. Time management could have been better but extra time would not have improved the final product. The video used relevant clips but could have benefited from more interesting transitions or filters. Peer feedback noted the poster's clear layout and colors but suggested making the leaflet and video more visually appealing through design tweaks or additional editing.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

3. Research
• The strength of the research was that the existing product helped me to
come up with the design and layout, as they all had different and
interesting layouts. The survey helped the most as it help me to
understand what needed to go in the video and what people wanted to
see so then I was able to make it as applying to the audience. The
interviews helped as they expanded on the most important
points/questions so I got more detail.
4. Planning
• The planning was very helpful as when it came to making the final product
I had an idea of the layout and design. As well as this I knew all the
information that had to go on the final product. As well s this I also had
chance to experiment with different colour scheme’s, what pictures work
best in which section of the poster/leaflet, thickness of the border lines
and various other detail that make the other all product look professional
and look effective. The only weakness of the planning is the time that it
takes up, however I feel like this is worth it.
5. Time Management
• I feel that I could have managed my time better, however I don’t think that
I managed my time badly. I feel like this is because I had to do a lot and
everything had to be in more detail then usual as it the final project.
However I don’t think that my final product would be improved if I had
extra time as I am very pleased and satisfied with how it has turned out
and don’t know any improvement I could/would added to the final
products. With the PowerPoint I would go into more detail.
10. Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
– I like the transitions in the video
– I like the choice of music
– I like the way all of the pictures fit together to make one
big picture.
– I like the choice of colours in the poster
– I like the way the information is laid out
• What improvements could have been made to the
product?
– Video could have used filters to make it a bit more
interesting.
11. Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– The layout of the poster is interesting
– The colour scheme of the poster is good
– Good choice of images on the poster
– The clips used in the video are good
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– The video could have been more visually
appealing
12. Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– The leaflet is well designed and shows a variety of eye
catching photography
– Colours are flat and do not take attention away from
key information that is displayed
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– Not sure if the blue strokes around the boxes help the
design aesthetic
– Leaflet could be considered “busy”
– Video could benefit from filters or a style
13. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback?
– I agree that the video could have benefited with more
filter/style as it is quite plain.
– The colours worked and brought more to the poster
– I used relevant clips in the videos
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
‒ That I should put filters on my video clips. I chose not to
do this because I wanted it to look realistic and not look
too edited as this may put off my target audience.
14. Peer Feedback Summary
The Leaflet
I would maybe play around with the colour scheme and images as it could come
across very male focused and I should try and open my audience to attract more
people. I would maybe have less on the leaflets or share the content across a few
different leaflets for specific training sessions.
The Video
I would see if any better transitions or slight editing with filters may look more
attractive but I didn't want it to look too edited. I think I would consider the order
of the clips more to make it more interesting like the peer feedback said and
Give myself a bit more time to perfect the video.
