FIGURE 1.7 A magnified view of a single lenslet shows a portion of an aberrated wavefront (red
curve) passing through. If the wavefront had been flat (aberration free), it would have focused to a
point on the video sensor (CCD) on the lenslet s optic axis (yellow dot). Refractive errors distort the
wavefront out of a plane, so a wavefront portion (red curve) enters the lenslet curved and tilted. The
light will therefore be focused to another part (red dot). The dot will be shifted by an amount that is in
direct proportion to the wavefront tilt.
Figures 1.6 and 1.7 illustrate how the position of the dots can be used to compute the eye s wavefront
aberration. Figure 6 is a magnified view of a single lenslet shown in Fig. 3, with a portion

Equal Rights Amendment In The 1920 s
Equal Rights Amendment The Roaring Twenties brought along more than just a change in fashion and
culture, it also introduced the strong fighting National Woman s Party which introduced the Equal
Rights Amendment to Congress in 1923.The Equal Rights Amendment had several purposes that
seemed extremely important to women, however, a bit contradicting to 1920s society and American
culture. In 1912 Alice Stokes Paul and Lucy Burns were appointed into the National American Woman
Suffrage Association due to their hard work and active movement in search of total gender equality.
Alice Paul eventually was dissatisfied with the little impact that the NAWSA had shown to women
and decide to form and become the leader of the Congressional Union. The Congressional Union s
duty was to directly pressure the government into giving equal rights to both men and women. She did
not only wan equality to be a law, she wanted it to become part of the US Constitution. She played a
strong part in the ratification process of the 19th Amendment which granted women the ... Show more

Alice Paul and her followers believed that this was the next necessary step to have equal justice under
law . This amendment would get rid of any gender inequalities that occurred in the legal system and in
society in general. She believed that the ERA would end all discrimination against women. Equality of
rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of
sex, Is a direct quote from the ERA that became recognizable because it outlines the primary purpose
of the amendment. The amendment did not only grant equality in the constitution, but it also
guaranteed women their rights and protected them from lawmakers to weaken their privileges as
women. This would mean that if men were required by law to sign up for military selective service, so

How to Integrate New Members in the Team Essay
Introduction
I am writing an assessment to understand why an induction process is needed to ensure the new
member works safely and efficiently as soon as they start. I will ask new members of the Organization
to find their reaction and finding of the current Induction Process. Also looking at how coaching in the
workplace can help new and existing employees to improve their skills and learn how to perform new
skills. I m going to develop a plan to induct new employees into a team and also to coach existing
employees to improve skills
The Induction process has to be effective to new employees and this process should be well known by
the person ensuring this procedure is carried out. They need to know why the induction process is

My current Organisation Romec has a induction process in place lasting 12 weeks with regular
reviews and a final evaluation sheet to ensure everything is going well and highlight any areas that
may need further development. A new employee will be sent a welcome letter,
employmentcontract/terms and conditions, staff handbook, Induction Tick List and a AXA PPP
information booklet. A plan is then constructed to suit the new employees needs depending on what
role of importance they are taking within the company. The first day they are greeted by the line

Summary Of The Truth Of Fact By Ted Chong
As I read The Truth of Fact, the Truth of Feeling, by Ted Chiang, I started to make connections from
modern day life in the United States to the two examples of lifestyles and learning that are described
in this piece. I started to think about how much technology has, and does, influence the average North
American s education and lifestyle and how that has changed significantly over the past few decades. I
also started to think about how the device that is described in the reading would be beneficial and
hurtful to our society and what would happen if someone was able to hack into the storage systems of
all of the information. I believe that advances in technology for personal use will soon get out of hand,
if they have not already, and if we let ourselves rely on technology too much we as a human race will
digress. In tenth grade, as I was about to take the PSAT to start the college process, I was instructed to
write a pledge saying that I was the person whose name was written on the test in cursive. I believe
that there was about two or three other kids who did not throw their arms in horror that you had to
write something in cursive! There were many questions of How do you make a t ? The loss of cursive
is something that has been a side effect of personal technology and who knows? Cursive is not the
only victim that has fallen due to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The World And Human Beings
Scripture: The event of creation stands as the first time God shows His existence even though He
existed before creation took place. We also see that Christ was a being who lived with God and
without Him there could be nothing (1 John 1:1 3). During the actual event of creation (Gen 1), God
took six complete days to finish it. He created everything from the heavens to the earth and all that
lives within them. He created light and darkness, land and water and separated them, and animals that
roam the earth and the sea. He then created man in His own image so that we could rule the earth and
all that lives in it. During the event of creation we see that God is the creator of all things and the Lord
of all things. We are to give Him praise for His creation of the world and human beings (Revelation
4:11). He created His Son as a visible image of Him who is the invisible image. He created the
heavens and the earth, and shows his authority over evil on earth. He does not stop evil, but He clears
a path for us to avoid and get away from evil. He sent His Son to reconcile us back to God (Colossians
1:16 20). This passage shows that God is the creator of all things and has power over everything that
has been created. He created everything from nothing that is visible. Christ sustains the world and
without Him there would be complete chaos.
Theologians: Horton, Bray, Berkhof There are three main points that Horton points out about creation
in the first part of this chapter, which

Technology Advantages And Disadvantages
Now of days we are beginning to experience natural disasters, from the category five hurricane in
Texas to major earth quakes in New Mexico. The way that things are looking now I believe we will
experience these situations more and more throughout the years. Most people have electronic devices
but do not know the basics on how to protect their devices from power surges, power outages and
other electrical variations. In the following paragraphs I will give you tips and information on how to
protect your computers and devices from power outages. This information will be helpful for people
who are on budgets but still want something that will actually work and others who are not on budget
and want top quality ways to protect their devices from power outages and other electronic devices.
One of the ways that you could protect your computer and other devices is to purchase a surge
protector. A surge protector s is an electrical device designed to protect a computer against the harmful
effects of power surges and spikes and sudden outages, they can contain up to 120 volts or more and
they are also inexpensive. They run around to be about twenty to forty dollars depending on which
brand you buy. The most recommended brand that will last long but is really good for its price is
Belkin or tripplite. A surge protector works by transferring the excess voltage via the devices
grounding wire. It stops it from reaching the electronic device and damaging it. When there is a

Asthma Is A Chronic Lung Disease
Asthma, as defined by the NIH, is a chronic lung disease that inflames and narrows the airways.
Asthma causes recurring periods of wheezing (a whistling sound when you breathe), chest tightness,
shortness of breath, and coughing. (National Institutes of Health, National Heart, Lung and Blood
Institute [NHLBI], 2015). There are risk factors that may predispose a child to developing asthma,
which include having allergies, eczema, and/or having parents who have asthma. Asthma is not a
disease that is preventable. (NHLBI, 2015). The risk or likelihood that someone would have asthma is
based on the biological makeup of the individual that would predispose them to the disease, rather
than behavioral, environmental, or even social factors. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(CDC, 2015).
Prevention of asthma is not the focus of interventions since it is not a preventable disease, but rather
the focus is to intervene with the management of the disease. There are some protective factors that
can be employed so that the occurrence of asthma attacks is reduced, or at least, well managed. Once
someone has been identified as having asthma, the goal is to manage it well so that there are as few
asthma attacks as possible. In 2008, the National Asthma Control Initiative (NACI) was created. The
goal of creating the NACI is to have the ability to work with different partners throughout the
community to successfully put asthma guidelines into action beginning with the home and moving out
into the community, which may include schools, health care settings, as well as other parts of the
community. (National Asthma Control Initiative [NACI], 2011). Primary interventions focus on
preventing the disease before it occurs. Because asthma is not a preventable disease, the evidenced
based interventions in place are more representative of interventions at secondary and tertiary levels
than primary. Community health nursing health promotion interventions for asthma at the secondary
level are largely aimed at diagnosing those with asthma and managing the disease.
The first step of asthma intervention is having it diagnosed. Usually either the primary care provider
diagnoses the

Research Paper On Sophie Germain
Sophie Germain also called Marie Sophie Germain was a famous French mathematician who proved
many theories during her time. Sophie was born on April 1, 1776 in Rue Saint Denis, Paris, France.
She was the daughter of a wealthy upper class French family. Her parents name were Ambroise
Francois Germain and Marie Madeleine. Her father,Ambroise, was a merchant and also the director of
the Bank of France. The year 1776 was a special year because Sophie was born and the American
Revolution began. Her father s library enabled her to educate herself and teach herself. At the age 13,
she read a book called the Legend of Archimedes Death. Archimedes was speared to death because of
his love for math.Archimedes became her hero, and she became interested in the subject math. After
that she taught herself Latin and Greek, and started to read about Newton and Euler despite ... Show

At that time, Sophie was 18 and women were not able to enroll in the academy. The Ecole
Polytechnique was an academy that trained mathematicians and scientists in the world. Even though
women were not able to attend the academy, Sophie was able to obtain some lecture notes and study
them through a man named J.L. Lagrange. Lagrange later on became her mentor, and with a male to
introduce her, she could see that there will be a good possibility for her to see the math and science
world. In the year of 1804, Sophie was corresponding her work with a German mathematician named
Carl Friedrich Gauss. She was fascinated with his labor in the number theory, so she sent him some of
her work in the number theory. She had disguised herself and her male name was M. Leblanc. Gauss
did not find out that he had a very gifted women pen pal until the year of 1807.Twelve years later,
Germain wrote to a mathematician named Legendre and she proved that if x,y, and z are integers and
if x^5+y^5=z^5 then either one of those variables must be divisible by

My Position As A Project Assistant
The focus of my position as a project assistant is document management. The document management
issue I plan to address relates to other project assistants and the remote site monitor for my newest
study. This study is a follow up study to a project that is already in place. All documents in our studies
must go through a review process, and this process involves all members of the team. As a project
assistant my department is responsible for the tracking, filing, and retrieval of trial and onboarding
documents. At the end of the project our documentation is audited, and any issues that arise can
impact the approval of the trial drug.
The main issue that is occurring is our document turnaround time and accuracy has been struggling
due to employee turnover. This can create problems when auditors reference our system to see if the
approved documents were completed in a timely manner, and in some cases is a violation of our
standards to have documents go without updates. For example a medical license must be verified and
on file before its expiration date. Our document training varies by trial; for this specific trial we are
working off a simple document tracking guide, and our own notes from management.
My main goal is to improve and create a better set of tools to assist in our document management.
What I intend to do is update our original guide, and create a more simple tracking tool in Microsoft
excel. I have begun to update our guide by creating screen shots

The CCR and CCD Contain Some of the Same Standard Rules Essay
One of the demands in healthcare today is to have the ability to allow healthcare organizations to
exchange patient health related information with other healthcare organizations. This was made
possible by the creation of the electronic health record (EHR), electronic medical record (EMR) and
personal health record (PHR). The EHR, PHR and the EMR allowed for patient s paper medical charts
into transformed into electronic charts. This allowed for a better way to organize the information that
was contained the paper medical chart. The health organization began to realize they could use these
electronic charts for a better way to care and share patient health related information. However, as the

This allows for the transmission of information to happen either electronically or paper based.
Therefore patients can either carry their information manually to the receiving physician, especially
for the receiving physicians that do not have the current or compatible technology to transfer
documents accurately (Health, 2009). With the current technologies, most documents are transferred
electronically. In order for this to happen, a structure electronic format must be created. Therefore,
CCR is a XML based standard that is used for the exchange of clinical data (Health, 2009). The CCR
format must adhere to a strict XML schema and accompanied by implementation guide required to
support the standards compliant interoperability (E31.25, 2012). The XML scheme creates flexibility
for the transmission and view of the CCR in many ways, such as in a web browser, Health Level
7(HL7) messaging, secured emails, PDF files, HTML files and word documents. This XML schema
also makes it possible for the interchange of data with electronic healthcare records (EHR) with CCR
data (E31.25, 2012). However, one problem the CCR faces is that it cannot send free text and is not
acceptable by all system (Health, 2009). Therefore, the CCR opened doors for the creations of
Continuity of CARE Document (CCD). Another organization that creates standards for the creation of
healthcare systems is Health Seven 7 (HL7)

A Freelance Writer At Three Online Companies
Currently I am a contracted freelance writer at three online companies. I just began being paid for
writing this year. I joined one company in January, one in February, the third in March. They are all
considered content farms . The first two companies work relatively the same, the third is a bit different
in that it it pays in lifetime royalties. I have only wrote five articles for the third company. They have
the most astringent requirements and their articles are all 500 words, in third person, and require
writers to provide sources in the footnotes. The first two companies have you write articles for your
application in order to rate your quality. The first company I contracted with recently upgraded my
writing and I was not aware of it for a while. This action allows me a larger pool of jobs to choose
from.
The first two companies both have pools of categorized jobs a writer may choose from. You may
choose any job at your rating or lower. Unfortunately there s been great upheaval in my personal life
this year and it has greatly affected my on time stats. Thereby making my writer s rating lower than
what I am capable of. I have wrote all my life. Poems, lists, ideas, everything really. I was a very
nervous child and I stuttered and tripped over my tongue constantly however put a pen in my hand and
I can communicate smoothly, eloquently, and get my point across in a clean concise manner. The
ironic part is that I was born left handed with a step

Roman Catholic Research Paper
Roman Catholicism is headed by the pope. For the first 1,500 years of Christianity, there wasn t any
type of Catholicism. Common traditions, beliefs, and worship were the body of Christian believers
around the world which is how they were all united; if you were a Christian, you belonged to a
catholic church. Any other type of beliefs was considered treachery to the Christianity belief. In our
time, there are multiple forms of Christianity besides Roman Catholicism. Being a catholic in this time
means that one has certain beliefs, practices, and traditions compared to those of Protestantism,
Anglicanism, Greek Orthodox, and all the other various types of Christianity. Roman Catholicism is

This type of practice links back to the papacy s connections with monasticism. The Jesuits,
Dominicans, Franciscans, and the Augustinians are several of the Catholic monastic orders with them
being the most known. Roman Catholicism links back to the age of the apostles, especially with one
figure Peter. St. Peter. This individual was considered the first pope and every pope after him was
considered his spiritual successor. Centuries later, the church we know today, Roman Catholic Church
was created with its doctrines and practices. Non Catholics consider this church as, having corrupted
the original message of Christianity. (religionfacts, 2016) while from a catholic perspective, the early
church is faithfully continued in the developments of later centuries. (religionfacts, 2016). By
historian notes the Roman bishop Leo the first was considered the first pope. The reason being was
due to the fact that he was the first to claim authority over all of Christendom. Apparently in his

Christ and how he designated peter and his successors the rock in which the church was built

Working Environment, Performance Management Essay
We define performance management as the process through which managers ensure that employees
activities and outputs are congruent with the organization s goals (Noe, Hollenbeck, Gerhart, Wright,
2016 ). In today s working environment, performance management allows dialogue around
performance improvement, which happens to be a system that many company s have adapted. With
there being high competition to build up an exemplary employee and be able to maintain them
different companies are rewarding and recognizing employees in different ways. There are companies
that believe that in order to motivate and retain an employee there has to be an incentive. However,
there are other companies that think the complete opposite, and believe that an employee will work
harder and be more motivated when the job is a non commission base role or an incentive is expected.
Argumentation/Discussion There are two different perspectives when it comes it incentives. The
argument for companies that believe incentives are a great way to drive the growth and profit of the
company is as follow. Incentives motivate an employee, and there are experts that state that bonuses,
rewards and incentives attract an employee to improve their work performance, and meet deadlines. It
is believed that incentives creates loyalty and trust between the employee and its employer improving
its relationship. There was a research with MIT students, and they were given a set of challenges and

Anger Management and Health Essay
Anger Management and Health
Everybody feels anger from time to time. People have been documented feeling anger since biblical
times when God was considered angry. Babies even exhibit signs that are interpreted as anger, such as
crying or screaming. Anger is not in any way unique to people. Animals also have the ability to feel
and express anger.
In our personal lives we get angry over at least one thing on almost a daily basis, whether it be on the
job, with a spouse or loved one, or perhaps with a figure of authority. Many psychologists have
written about anger, discussing the relationship between anger and fear. Each of the individuals that

The authors of When Anger Hurts: Anger in Modern
Life explain the complications that chronic anger can create. Doctors have long suspected that anger
increases the blood rate. Many scientists now point out that norepinepherine, the drug that is secreted
during anger, increases blood pressure as well. Anger and abnormally high blood pressure are
correlated; and high blood pressure leads to many forms of heart disease. In a recent study
1,623 patients were interviewed an average of four days after they had suffered a heart attack
following an outburst of anger. The study showed that the risk of suffering a heart attack is doubled
after an outburst of anger. (3) The psychologist Franz Alexander s hypothesized in 1839 that
hypertesnisves lack basic assertive skills. Psychological studies have repeatedly backed
Alexander s assertion theory ever since. (4)
High blood pressure is said to be caused by uncontrolled anger, which in turn is caused by a lack of
assertion. If we bottle up our anger now, then we will feel it later. Eventually our arteries will grow
weak and we will remain tense, living daily with treacherous moods and health. The alternative is to
shout out our anger at the world and let it manifest itself any way that it pleases. Of course, taking our
anger out at the world can have even more deleterious effects. People just don t like it when we
demonstrate our anger.
Many of us are taught at an early age to bury our anger

Looking at Life in Different Ways
At the end of Look Both Ways, the film maker convinces viewers that the characters are capable of
looking at their lives in different ways. Do you agree?
In the film Look Both Ways, director Sarah Watt explores the theme that perspective can determine
experience in life. The film demonstrates that life is an unscripted event where no one knows the final
outcome and we can often become overwhelmed by how seemingly little control we exert over the
navigation of our lives By using main characters Nick, Meryl and Andy, she suggests that changing a
person s outlook on life can enrich that person and help overcoming problems. Nick learnt that cancer
does not necessarily implicate death, Meryl freed herself from her fears by realising risks ... Show

Only upon her actual submission to the fact that things just happen can Meryl finally begin to regain
her happiness.
Conversely, Andy s view of death is quite different to that of Nick and Meryl. To him, it is an escape
route. His negative view on life has him belief that everything happens deliberately. Andy is
disgruntled by his job, embittered by his previous marriage and feels threatened by Anna s pregnancy
and the prospect of paying the bills for the rest of his life to another woman. This moulds him into an
egoistic person, refusing to take responsibility as he believes everyone has an agenda . Angry and
frustrated, the extent of Andy s distress is shown as he immaturely pops a bag of chips at the store and
tells the gospel choir to shut up . However, his encounter with Nick at the train track is cathartic in
bringing a turnaround of his ideas. When he discovers Nicks diagnoses he steps back from the railway
and realises how his selfish attitude has kept him hostage to leading an enjoyable life. Andy looks at
his life from another angle, that this child may be his opportunity to redeem himself. In the concluding
photomontage we see him holding his baby, suggesting that he was able to move on with his life and
change his perspective on the past and future.

Conflict Management At The Workplace Setting
Executive Summary We are all wired with the ability to have our own opinions, ideas and sets of
beliefs. Conflict, an inevitable part of life, pertains to the opposing ideas and actions of different
entities. We often find ourselves in conflict in different scenarios; whether it involves other
individuals, groups of people, or a struggle within our own selves. Consequently, conflict influences
our actions and decisions in one way or another. Conflict can have significant impact in the workplace
and should not be ignored. It is essential for managers, supervisors, and even coworkers to address
individuals that are causing office conflicts. The need for managers to have better leadership and
management skills to handle their complex responsibilities is well recognized. The following case
introduces conflict management in the workplace setting. The foundation of conflict management
centers on communication techniques including transparent communication, open discussion, active
listening and timing of intervention. This case analyzes the cause of conflicts, reviews techniques of
conflict management, and discusses specific management styles such as: avoidance, competition,
accommodation, compromise, and collaboration. Case scenario (background) Bill has been working

that by nature have grown on one another. When one would talk about the middle east on social media
the first thing that comes to mind is the war and countless bloodshed that spilled and the impact it had
on many lives. All the stories distributed by social media display attacks and war in the middle east,
portray all middle easterners to be muslim, and only tell the tale of terrorists to the public.
Social media is only showing people, very little stories about Middle Easterners. One of those
shameful stories is the tale of war, violence, and suffering. A few misconceptions people have is that
all Middle Eastern s are dangerous. This is due to social media and the tales being spread. Anne
Barnard says in her article for The New York Times, Lebanon has weathered waves of political
assassinations, street skirmishes and wars; Israeli airstrikes leveled whole apartment blocks in 2006 .
Anne Barnard may not realize it, but she is distributing one story about the Lebanon, my home
country. Which, is really a beautiful country with many small towns and tight communities. Yes, there
is the story of war and violence, but there is also a story of family and culture. No one hears about the
positive in the Middle East. The ungraceful representation of the Middle East is embarrassing

Competitive Analysis Essay
UThe competitive analysis is an essential research process to conduct. By examining and researching
it allows me to see what content and features draws new users. It also acts as inspiration research for
ideas to develop during wireframing. The main competitors that would rival the Snapchat app both
have a modern aesthetics and it s clear how to use. Instagram, the Facebook owned photo sharing app
with 600 million monthly users, targeted Snap head on last August when it launched Instagram
Stories, a feature that very closely resembles Snapchat s own My Story feature. Similar to My Story,

Additionally, users may join common interest user groups organised by workplace, school, hobbies or
other topics, and categorise their friends into lists such as People From Work or Close Friends . A
modern app offers almost the same functionality. The key difference of this app is the navigation and
different colour functionality. However, overall it is well structured and easy to use. However, with
what I have discovered I believe it will out top these apps. Through using the applications of my
competitors and having a clearly look, it allowed me to ensure I satisfy my users and find out ways to
advance the application as stated earlier. On a weekly basis if there are meetings, this ensures the
deadlines are met and if there are any changes it will be fully discussed on how the overall process is
going. Also, through talking to user s who use the current apps, that I am competing with allows me to
have a broader understanding on how to ensure it is at the top. As well as, working with a properly
structured budget points out what aspects of the business produce money and which ones use it, which
forces management to consider whether it should drop some parts of the business, or expand in others.

Why Housing Price Is So High
Why housing price is so high in China, especially in core cities? And why the government didn t do
anything to reduce the price? Because government is the one of the cause of high housing price. In
China government own the land, government sell the land to real estate developers at a very high price
at the beginning, and then heavily tax real estate industry s income which from selling the house they
built on that land. Real estate industry wants to make profit; therefore, they increase housing price in
order to make a better profit from consumer. Additionally, since real estate is a big part of China s
economy and a large portion of government s tax revenue is coming from the real estate industry;
therefore, government does not want housing price to drop. Government does publish some policy to
adjust hosing price when it increased too rapidly, and the purpose of government s adjustment is not to
decrease the housing price, but to slow the speed of increasing.
Although the housing price is incredibly high in China today, the demands for housing are kept
increasing, which is another reason lead to high housing price. The average Chinese city dweller takes
their first mortgage at the age of 27, far earlier than in other countries. Why do young urban Chinese
are buying first home so early? First, concerns over future increases in house prices were driving them
to buy their first homes too soon (Boehler, 2013). Second, the traditional pressure on young urban

Evaluation Methodology For Research Methodology
Chapter 3 3.1 Introduction In this chapter, will be focused on the methodology that is use during the
research in order to make sure that research can be delivered on time. For this research, the suitable
approach for the research methodology would be Research Methodology. This methodology is chosen
because it provides the standards for research methods. With this methodology, the research will be
done consecutively according to the specifics steps that is planned for every phases. 3.2 Methodology
The methodology for the research is consists of four phases which are requirement planning, design,
development and cutover phase. Figure 3.0 Methodology used in Research 3.2.1 Literature Analysis
Previous researchers classified the code clones into four types based on both the textual and functional
similarities, which are two main kinds of similarity between code fragments [18]. 1) Type 1: Identical
code fragments except for variations in whitespace, layout and comments. 2) Type 2: Syntactically
identical fragments except for variations in identifiers, literals, types, whitespace, layout and
comments. 3) Type 3: Copied fragments with further modifications such as changed, added or
removed statements, in addition to variations in identifiers, literals, types, whitespace, layout and
comments. 4) Type 4: Two or more code fragments that perform the same computation but are
implemented by different syntactic variants. Algorithm Description We follow the standard definition

Analysis of Marx, Weber, and Durkheim s Views Essay
The sociological views of the three founding fathers; Karl Marx, Max Weber, and Emile Durkheim all
assert that various aspects of our lifestyle are fully a product of the society in which we live. Each
theorist views the impact of society and its manifestation of our identity in a different way. All three of
these men used the Industrial Revolution and capitalism to shape their theories of social identity,
especially the identity created by capitalism s division of labor; the owners of the means of
production; the bourgeoisie and the oppressed proletariat. The Industrial Revolution was a major
turning point in the recent history of the world. This shaped the theological point of view and
underpinned this social and economic paradigm ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This could only be accomplished through the Marxist agenda for change and the realization of the
proletariat that they were being exploited, the underclass must unite for the common purpose and rise
up and demand change. Only once this was accomplished can the underclass begin to change their
way of life to an increase in the quality of life. The inequities between the laboring and capitalist
classes in society spawned the concept of socialism where in turn the benevolent members of society
would help reflect their knowledge onto the proletariat and thus the equilibrium would occur. This
soon inspired the Communist ideology where a classless society existed and everyone was working
for the common good. Marx thought of Communism as a new form of social organization that
majored in cooperation among society. The second father of the big debate would be Max Weber.
Weber took a middle standpoint on the Capitalistic spectrum. Weber was influenced by a religious
ideology; one of a protestant work ethic viewpoint; work hard in this life and be rewarded in Heaven.
Weber greatly believed that by impressing God, an individual will succeed in life. Although Weber
was strongly influenced by the works of Karl Marx he was more interested in the existential reasoning
as to why technology came to be, his conclusion was that work got complicated and that individuals

Fundamental Principles of Duct System or Air Distribution...
CHAPTER 3 METHODOLOGY This project work is gives the fundamental principles of duct system
or air distribution system design for multi story building. There are mainly three type of duct sizing
method namely equal friction method, modified friction method (static regain method) and velocity
reduction method. In present day the use of manual duct calculator is normal and computer aided duct
design is becoming more popular. Also to learn the friction chart is very important to use this manual
duct calculator because these are the foundation of the other method. This will provide the necessary
knowledge to duct design error and overcome to these error. For designing the proper duct system
requires load estimation which is used to selecting the zone and air flow rate that the duct system
distributes. Ones the air flow rate is has been determined, the duct system component can be placed.
This includes the supply and returns diffusers and decides to air handling unit (AHU) or fan coil unit

3.2.1. Supply air duct The duct which supplies the conditioned air from the air conditioning equipment
to the space to be cooled is called supply air duct. 3.2.2. Return air duct The duct which carries the
reciprocating air from the conditioned space back to the air conditioning equipment is called return air
duct. 3.2.3. Fresh air duct The duct which carries the outside air is called

Figurative Language And Symbolism In Sailing The Byzantium
Literature is always personal, always one man s vision of the world, one man s experience (W.B. Yeats
n.d.). Such perspicacity is evident in the works of William Butler Yeats, whose collection of poetry,
The Tower, reflects his fascination with mysticism and the days of yore. The poem Sailing the
Byzantium illustrates how William Butler Yeats use of artistic diction and symbolism reveals the
parallels of ancient civilization and the cycle of life and communicates the dual themes of
obsolescence and perpetuity. Yeats elegy, details a metaphoric spiritual journey of renewal to the holy
city seeking intellectual refuge within an artifice of eternity (Yeats, Lines 16,24). His use of figurative
language elicits both the somber and nostalgic tones evident throughout the poem. Metaphorically, the
speaker emphasizes the theme of obsolescence by alluding to his own physical limitations and concern
for his own mortality living in a country unfit for old men among ... Show more content on

Modernist poet, William Butler Yeats, use of figurative language and symbolism expresses his own
trepidations of aging and mortality, as well his longing to sail beyond the physical temporal world into
the antiquity of Byzantium. The holy city exists as an infinite elusive realm out of nature ; a mystical
place where a numinous spirit triumphs over the dying animal and through empyrean wisdom and
intervention, he emerges from the gyre...an artifice of eternity (Line 19, 24). Revelations 21:1 2
reminds Christians they too will journey to such place when the first earth has passed away...the holy
city, New Jerusalem, [coming] will come down out of heaven from God . Just as we have borne in the

Three Varieties of Knowledge- a Critque Essay
Donald Davidson Three Varieties of Knowledge
Submitted By: Nathan Copeland 500349268

April 15, 2013
In Donald Davidsons Three Varieties of Knowledge, he sets out to more or less prove that A
community of minds is the basis of knowledge; it provides the measure of all things. (Davidson, 218).
This is done by first categorizing knowledge into three distinct categories. There is knowledge of ones
own mind, knowledge of another s mind, and knowledge of the shared physical world around us. He
argues that no one could exist without the others. According to Davidson, knowledge of ones own
mind differs from the other two types of knowledge in the sense that one knows the contents of their
own mind ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Davidson, pg. 217)
Davidson then goes on to say that knowledge of the propositional contents of our own minds is not
possible without the other forms of knowledge, since there is no propositional thought without
communication (Davidson, pg. 213). Furthermore, knowledge of others cannot be inferred unless we
have knowledge of ourselves, as the process of coming to know another s mind is done by matching
evidence from others behaviour to our knowledge of our own, thus showing that knowledge of our
own minds and others is also mutually dependent.
He acknowledges that there are a great deal of possible ways that we could assign our native language
to the language and behavior of another to come about an understanding. He relates this to the
measurement of weight in the sense that no matter what system you use for measurement; kilograms,
pounds ounces, etc., the invariable factor, in this case the actual weight of the object, is the fact of the
matter, not the arbitrary units of measure. His point is that there will likely always be indeterminacy in
our translations, but we will often get the general idea. He also believes that there are no strict laws
that connect mental states with physical ones, stating that such laws can exist only when concepts
connected by the laws are based on criteria of the same sort (Davidson, pg. 215).
This all leads to the fact that we will never be able to agree on how sentences and thoughts should be

being admitted into any of the Armed Services, and was created as an instrument specifically for those
who choose to join the Armed Forces. Additionally, the ASVAB is frequently used in schools where

However, in 1950, the Services returned to using a single test, the Armed Forces Qualification Test
(AFQT). This test was developed and modeled after the AGCT, and was the first test used in the
military as a screening instrument. It measured the individual s general ability to grasp military
training within in the necessary allotted time, and it also offered a uniform measure of the individual s
potential performance in the military. Also, tests like The Army Classification Battery and the Navy
Basic Test Battery were used to classify recruits into service specific jobs. In 1968, the ASVAB was
introduced as a part of the Student Testing Program. The Air Force was the first to use the ASVAB in
1973, followed by the Marine Corps in 1974. However, the Army and Navy did not adopt the ASVAB
until 1976, after the Department of Defense decided that all Services should use it for the purpose of
screening enlistees and placing them in military jobs. The AFQT has been mostly retained and is now
a subtest of the ASVAB. Since the introduction and adoption of the ASVAB, it has undergone many
changes as far as content and scoring.
Scoring for the ASVAB uses the IRT model. The model underlying the ASVAB scoring is a three
parameter logistic (3PL) ( ASVAB Scoring , n.d.). The 3PL model essentially represents the

What Are The Disadvantages Of Homeschooling
Does homeschooling deprive kids of a normal social life? How can children learn to interact with
other people if they stay at home all the time doing school? Many people question whether
homeschooling adequately equips kids with skills necessary for life in society. Ms. Liza Blau, founder
of NYC Asthma Wellness Center, considers homeschooling a social disadvantage. In her article Social
Disadvantages of Home Schooling, she expresses her belief that homeschooled children lack the
opportunities to acquire the social skills that other kids hone at public school. However, despite the
popular myth that homeschooled children have few opportunities to socialize outside of their family,
homeschoolers actually get out of their house more often than one would expect. ... Show more

Because homeschooling provides a more flexible schedule, parent taught kids have social
opportunities that public schoolers do not. Homeschooled children have the option to hang out at the

at each other s houses or at a park which provides a change of scenery and the enjoyment of company.
Not only can homeschoolers socialize with their peers, but due to their flexible schedules they can also
interact with people in diverse age groups. Whether helping a neighbor with yard work, visiting an
elderly couple across the street, or babysitting during week days, home taught kids interact with
people of all ages unlike building school children who spend all day surrounded by their same age
classmates. Clearly homeschoolers not only have plenty of socializing opportunities, but they also get

The book talks about the will in genetic testing, to find your ancestry. It is important for people of
different races to understand where they come from. I believe this could lead to pove of equality for
all people and stop political upreits. Nelson introduced this ide when she described this, Genetic
genealogy testing with enduring human desire: the search roots and identity . Everybody wants to
know where they came from, and genetic testing helps with that. Once a person finds out their true
origin, the truth comes out. It amazes me that genetic testing can change a whole community and their
values. The book also enforced this fact because Our DNA hopes are more boundless than we often
fully apprehend or dare to admit , it s not just about how it affects mankind, it is also about how far we
go to find out things we may not want to. Nelson made me realize that my view on genetics was not
reaching it s full capacity. As I read on it talked about the advances in politics and the discrimination
for race and how genetics is working to improve it, the book pointed out that the sociopolitical
backdrop against which the decoding of the human genome unfolded also played a role in the use of
genetics in reparations in politics . Nelson goes on to talk about how all of human kinds DNA is
extremely similar. If this is the case why is there discrimination. Its genetic testing that gives evidence
to the things that are proven

Humanity is a part of everyday life, but what if your humanity was lost? All throughout the human
existence, there has been humanity. In the time period of humanity, humanity was put to the test. Mass
genocides, cruel leaders, world wars, and many more have shown humanity at its lowest. It shows
how humanity is completely destroyed in times of injustice and war. Surviving Hitler, by Andrea

They have scared and terrorized these everyday people into being greedy and forgetting their sense of

Others may argue that humanity is not lost and destroyed in times of injustice and war, but they are
definitely wrong. Before the war Jack had parents, a brother, a grandfather, uncles, aunts, and cousins
eighty one people in all. Now, everyone except Jack s second cousins, Robert and Arek, Aunt Hinda,
Uncle Sigmund, and Jack was dead. If I had known this when I was in the camps, why would I have

only males can act on stage. For over 400 years, women have only been allowed in the audience and
not on stage. But ironically, a woman named Izumo Okuni along with her female troupe originally

The Demon Queller Glare makeup is so powerful that supposedly the actor can make a glaring pose to
scare away any evil spirits. Based on the Samurai pattern, this makeup is accomplished by leaving the
eyelids white but framing the eyes above and below with black lines. The makeup emphasizes the
actor s eyes as much as possible, and makes them seem to grow wider and wider as he stares
(Agostino 4). Sometimes actors draw in eyes on their closed eyelids to make them look even bigger
for the ideal glaring pose (Heinrichs 118). In earlier days, the Kabuki actor would apply Kumadori
makeup with his fingers so he could follow his bone structure, outlining the right places to make it
look even bolder. Kumadori makeup is still very popular today. Expressed through bold and dramatic
designs painted with fingers and brushes, it remains the center of attention in Kabuki. Common
characters in Kabuki theatre each have basic makeup colors and patterns that they wear often, which
each color representing a different emotion (Agostino 5). The colors most commonly used are red,

Technology has also impacted the means of leading a team. Projects are no longer initiated and

as instant messaging, remote call forwarding, and wireless internet access. A project team leader can
receive a call, go online for answers, and electronically forward documentation to the team from a

quickly results can be measured when monitoring the success of a project. Once a project is complete,

Conquest of Mexico, it says: This explains the Aztecs surprise when the Spaniards, who they saw as

evidence shows that the Aztec were surprised not by the alliance but by the reason that they got

3d Printer Research Paper
Throughout the known history of the world, humans and technology have progressed side by side.
Many believe technology prolongs human challenges and development in the twenty first century
because of the way it distracts people from daily life activities. Though it has been questioned of
value, the inclusion of new technology challenges what humans can do through innovative ideas like
the computer and cell phones and other devices such as 3D printers. One way new technology has
challenged human capability was the invention of computers. Before the computer became available,
many people had to use other applications for directions, remembering things, typewriters for typing,
and even the land line telephones. Computers were groundbreaking technology ... Show more content

Though these are still overall problems, the pros of cell phones outweigh the cons. Cell phones have
pushed human and technological capabilities to a new era, one that is taking the world by storm. More
possibilities have opened up to human and technological development with the use of 3D printers. In
the early 2010s, 3D printing has taken medical branches, manufacture industries, and universities by
storm. During my trip to The University of Chapel Hill, the student guides mentioned sixty percent of
their students do research, many involving a 3D printer located on campus. One boy was given a
prosthetic hand from a student who 3D printed it for research. 3D printers might be used by scientists
for organ transplants in the future. Currently, many scientists are using the cells of a patient to grow
new organs to be later used for organ transplant patients. This would not only revolutionize the
medical field, but it would dissolve the donor crisis going on in hospitals. 3D printers are not only
being used for research but for fun things as well. A boy at my school uses a 3D printer he made
himself to make and sell fidget spinners to classmates. The use of technology is pushing humanity and
machinery to new heights in this modern era. Advances like the computer led to other things like the
cell phone. Although cell phones might be distracting, they have also led to new

Photographer Techniques
A good photographer knows how to use some little tricks to create a pretty scene, and the good
photographer knows how to use small techniques to build the mood for the photo. Pretty scene and
mood of the photo together create the meaning for the photo, and they allure people to step into the
photo. Some of the techniques that used to make a photo looks pretty is the lighting of the photo, and
the angle of that photo. And some tricks that are used to create a photo are models, sand, fake fog, etc.
Photographer just needs a little bit of tricks to create a deep meaning of the photo. The first photo
shows a mysterious wardrobe that stands in the middle of some nowhere desert. The wardrobe is
surrounded by cloud and fog. The sky is not clear, and it does not present the sky blue color. Instead,
the sky is cloudy and gloomy. It seems like some important but mysterious event is in prepare to
happen. Then suddenly appears a mysterious wardrobe on the desert under the gloomy sky. The rocks
on the ground follows by the stone stair lead the way ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Second photo shows a man is building a model of a small wardrobe on top of a stone. The man wears
a pair of glasses is carefully bends in front of the model. His brow furrows and his lip tightly together
all show that he is afraid any additional actions might mess up the model. The man holds a white cup
with fake fog on it. He carefully uses his right hand to spill the fog around the wardrobe, and he uses
his left hand to hold on to the stone and adjust the wardrobe. Third photo shows a camera in front of
the model. Model is put on a table in the beach, and it is put under the cloudy but not gloomy sky. The
camera stands so close to the wardrobe because the wardrobe is small. Then the photo is taken, and the
first photo appears. Photographer then change the background color of the first photo to make it seems

The Dumping Of Tea Or The Boston Tea Party
Bob is a person who was walking down the hallway. When he arrives at history class, he completely
zones out when the teacher talks about the Boston Tea Party. He panicked when he was doing his
homework, realizing that he did not understand anything. Fortunately he read articles like this one to
help him learn what he missed. The Dumping of Tea or the Boston Tea Party was an event in Boston,
Massachusetts that helped spark the American Revolution. Before, Parliament imposed a harsh set of
taxes. The Sugar Act placed a small tax on sugar. The Stamp Act placed a tax on all printed items. The
Townshend Acts placed taxes on everything on lead, paints, glass, and many more things. The British
also occupied Boston with troops called the Redcoats.

A Research on the Legacy of Intel and AMD Microprocessors
From the introduction of the counting frame, or more popularly known as the abacus1, it was realized
that the creation of a tool that is able assist in mathematical calculations will greatly increase
productivity and efficiency needs of man2. The use of abaci continued for numerous centuries up to
the years when early calculators made use of hole placements in a dial to signify a count similar to that
of a rotary dial telephone3. As the years progressed people needed more. It was seen that the simple
addition, subtraction, and multiplication functions were not enough. The need for memory storage
features arose. People at that time perceived the abacus, comptometers, ... Show more content on

Essay on Motorola Digital Strategy
Introduction
Motorola was first founded in 1928, making battery eliminators for household radios. In 1929 the

the company afloat during the Great Depression of the 30s.
During the Second World War Motorola developed the Handie Talkie SCR536 handheld radio
transmitter and receiver, and icon of that conflict, and forefather of the mobile phone. In the 1970s,
together with AT T, Motorola started developing cellular networks, and in 1980 the company released
the world s first mobile phone, the DynaTAC phone. From then on the company because a household

Television Commercials Lazy Phone
Another notable marketing efforts was Motorola s Lazy Phone series of adverts. These television
commercials, which were also later uploaded on YouTube, featured five different everyday scenarios
and how lazy smartphones don t improve user experience. The Nav with Touchless Control
commercial portrays a driver, in the middle of nowhere, that s running low on gas, and emphasizes the
benefits of Touchless voice control over fumbling with one s phone while driving.
The campaigns created a new image for Motorola, and were aimed at very specific markets. The Moto
X and Moto G were aimed at people between 16 and 30 years of age, modern folks with a hipster ish
aesthetic looking for products that were an extension of their lives and themselves. Motorola also gave
itself a youthful, quirky, yet cutting edge aesthetic, one that s in stark contrast with the likes of
Samsung or HTC.
Online Social Media
Exploiting social media s various customer engagement and advertising opportunities, Motorola
maintains an active presence on various sites. Whilst every network has its own peculiarities and
features, a common theme that seems to run throughout all of Motorola s pages is the emphasis on

Importance of Food Labels
A research done in 2003 by the International Food Information Council Foundation indicated that
many consumers will refer to food labels when deciding which food item to purchase or consume. (
The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. ) Many consumers say that food labels are hard to observe
and read. Food labels objective is mostly to inform consumers about the products characteristics
which actually play an important role in purchasing or the decision making process of the food
item. The government should be more diligent in monitoring the presence of food labels and the
accuracy of their claims given the recent rise of health issues, higher frequency of food allergies, and
increasing population of more aware consumers. Diabetes is a disease that can lead to heart
disease, stroke kidney disease, blindness and dental disease. It is a disorder in a way the body uses
digested food for energy. While there are different types of diabetes type two diabetes is generally
caused by a combination of obesity and physical inactivity. ( Causes of Diabetes )There is no known
medical cure but treatments vary for each individual but a management strategy is agreed upon
between the doctor and patient. In order for patients to manage diabetes they have to know exactly
what they are putting in their body, if food labels are misleading or incorrect it will cause a medical
emergency and in some cases lasting negative

Financial Statements Of American Heart Association
The financial statements of American Heart Association convey valuable information to outside users
about the organization and how it utilizes financial resources. The objective of this essay is to identify
five things that can be learned about an organization from their financial statements.
The first thing that can be learned about every nonprofit comes from reviewing the Statement of
Activities and the following Statement of Functional Expenses. These statements describe a broad
categorization of the different program related services provided and the supporting services needed to
run those programs. Expenses related to these programs are defined as those directly relating to the
organization s mission or purpose. For AHA, their programs include research, public health education,
professional education and training, and community services. Supporting services are those that do not
directly relate to the mission or purpose of the organization, and therefore can be further split into
services required to generate future contributions and services to run the administrative side of the
organization. The Statement of Functional Expenses provides a breakdown of natural expenses
(salaries, rent, professional fees, etc.) by the different program and supporting services. This allows
the user to see a breakdown of the salaries expense number by program, fundraising, and
administrative staff. A common tool for comparing and evaluating nonprofits is to compare program
expenses to

Equal Rights Amendment In The 1920 s Equal Rights Amendment The Roaring Twenties brought along more than just a change in fashion and culture, it also introduced the strong fighting National Woman s Party which introduced the Equal Rights Amendment to Congress in 1923.The Equal Rights Amendment had several purposes that seemed extremely important to women, however, a bit contradicting to 1920s society and American culture. In 1912 Alice Stokes Paul and Lucy Burns were appointed into the National American Woman Suffrage Association due to their hard work and active movement in search of total gender equality. Alice Paul eventually was dissatisfied with the little impact that the NAWSA had shown to women and decide to form and become the leader of the Congressional Union. The Congressional Union s duty was to directly pressure the government into giving equal rights to both men and women. She did not only wan equality to be a law, she wanted it to become part of the US Constitution. She played a strong part in the ratification process of the 19th Amendment which granted women the ... Summary Of The Truth Of Fact By Ted Chong As I read The Truth of Fact, the Truth of Feeling, by Ted Chiang, I started to make connections from modern day life in the United States to the two examples of lifestyles and learning that are described in this piece. I started to think about how much technology has, and does, influence the average North American s education and lifestyle and how that has changed significantly over the past few decades. I also started to think about how the device that is described in the reading would be beneficial and hurtful to our society and what would happen if someone was able to hack into the storage systems of all of the information. I believe that advances in technology for personal use will soon get out of hand, if they have not already, and if we let ourselves rely on technology too much we as a human race will digress. In tenth grade, as I was about to take the PSAT to start the college process, I was instructed to write a pledge saying that I was the person whose name was written on the test in cursive. I believe that there was about two or three other kids who did not throw their arms in horror that you had to write something in cursive! There were many questions of How do you make a t ? • 7. The World And Human Beings Scripture: The event of creation stands as the first time God shows His existence even though He existed before creation took place. We also see that Christ was a being who lived with God and without Him there could be nothing (1 John 1:1 3). During the actual event of creation (Gen 1), God took six complete days to finish it. He created everything from the heavens to the earth and all that lives within them. He created light and darkness, land and water and separated them, and animals that roam the earth and the sea. He then created man in His own image so that we could rule the earth and all that lives in it. During the event of creation we see that God is the creator of all things and the Lord of all things. We are to give Him praise for His creation of the world and human beings (Revelation 4:11). He created His Son as a visible image of Him who is the invisible image. He created the heavens and the earth, and shows his authority over evil on earth. He does not stop evil, but He clears a path for us to avoid and get away from evil. He sent His Son to reconcile us back to God (Colossians 1:16 20). This passage shows that God is the creator of all things and has power over everything that has been created. He created everything from nothing that is visible. Christ sustains the world and without Him there would be complete chaos. The way that things are looking now I believe we will experience these situations more and more throughout the years. Most people have electronic devices but do not know the basics on how to protect their devices from power surges, power outages and other electrical variations. In the following paragraphs I will give you tips and information on how to protect your computers and devices from power outages. This information will be helpful for people who are on budgets but still want something that will actually work and others who are not on budget and want top quality ways to protect their devices from power outages and other electronic devices. One of the ways that you could protect your computer and other devices is to purchase a surge protector. A surge protector s is an electrical device designed to protect a computer against the harmful effects of power surges and spikes and sudden outages, they can contain up to 120 volts or more and they are also inexpensive. They run around to be about twenty to forty dollars depending on which brand you buy. The most recommended brand that will last long but is really good for its price is Belkin or tripplite. A surge protector works by transferring the excess voltage via the devices grounding wire. It stops it from reaching the electronic device and damaging it. When there is a tropical storm ... Prevention of asthma is not the focus of interventions since it is not a preventable disease, but rather the focus is to intervene with the management of the disease. There are some protective factors that can be employed so that the occurrence of asthma attacks is reduced, or at least, well managed. Once someone has been identified as having asthma, the goal is to manage it well so that there are as few asthma attacks as possible. In 2008, the National Asthma Control Initiative (NACI) was created. The goal of creating the NACI is to have the ability to work with different partners throughout the community to successfully put asthma guidelines into action beginning with the home and moving out into the community, which may include schools, health care settings, as well as other parts of the community. (National Asthma Control Initiative [NACI], 2011). Primary interventions focus on preventing the disease before it occurs. Because asthma is not a preventable disease, the evidenced based interventions in place are more representative of interventions at secondary and tertiary levels than primary. Community health nursing health promotion interventions for asthma at the secondary level are largely aimed at diagnosing those with asthma and managing the disease. The document management issue I plan to address relates to other project assistants and the remote site monitor for my newest study. This study is a follow up study to a project that is already in place. All documents in our studies must go through a review process, and this process involves all members of the team. As a project assistant my department is responsible for the tracking, filing, and retrieval of trial and onboarding documents. At the end of the project our documentation is audited, and any issues that arise can impact the approval of the trial drug. The main issue that is occurring is our document turnaround time and accuracy has been struggling due to employee turnover. This can create problems when auditors reference our system to see if the approved documents were completed in a timely manner, and in some cases is a violation of our standards to have documents go without updates. For example a medical license must be verified and on file before its expiration date. Our document training varies by trial; for this specific trial we are working off a simple document tracking guide, and our own notes from management. • 25. Why Housing Price Is So High Why housing price is so high in China, especially in core cities? And why the government didn t do anything to reduce the price? Because government is the one of the cause of high housing price. In China government own the land, government sell the land to real estate developers at a very high price at the beginning, and then heavily tax real estate industry s income which from selling the house they built on that land. Real estate industry wants to make profit; therefore, they increase housing price in order to make a better profit from consumer. All three of these men used the Industrial Revolution and capitalism to shape their theories of social identity, especially the identity created by capitalism s division of labor; the owners of the means of production; the bourgeoisie and the oppressed proletariat. The inequities between the laboring and capitalist classes in society spawned the concept of socialism where in turn the benevolent members of society would help reflect their knowledge onto the proletariat and thus the equilibrium would occur. This soon inspired the Communist ideology where a classless society existed and everyone was working for the common good. Marx thought of Communism as a new form of social organization that majored in cooperation among society. The second father of the big debate would be Max Weber. Weber took a middle standpoint on the Capitalistic spectrum. Weber was influenced by a religious ideology; one of a protestant work ethic viewpoint; work hard in this life and be rewarded in Heaven. CHAPTER 3 METHODOLOGY This project work is gives the fundamental principles of duct system or air distribution system design for multi story building. There are mainly three type of duct sizing method namely equal friction method, modified friction method (static regain method) and velocity reduction method. In present day the use of manual duct calculator is normal and computer aided duct design is becoming more popular. Also to learn the friction chart is very important to use this manual duct calculator because these are the foundation of the other method. This will provide the necessary knowledge to duct design error and overcome to these error. Such perspicacity is evident in the works of William Butler Yeats, whose collection of poetry, The Tower, reflects his fascination with mysticism and the days of yore. The poem Sailing the Byzantium illustrates how William Butler Yeats use of artistic diction and symbolism reveals the parallels of ancient civilization and the cycle of life and communicates the dual themes of obsolescence and perpetuity. Yeats elegy, details a metaphoric spiritual journey of renewal to the holy city seeking intellectual refuge within an artifice of eternity (Yeats, Lines 16,24). His use of figurative language elicits both the somber and nostalgic tones evident throughout the poem. Metaphorically, the speaker emphasizes the theme of obsolescence by alluding to his own physical limitations and concern for his own mortality living in a country unfit for old men among ... Three Varieties of Knowledge- a Critque Essay Donald Davidson Three Varieties of Knowledge Submitted By: Nathan Copeland 500349268 Submitted to: Prof. Checkland PHL550 April 15, 2013 In Donald Davidsons Three Varieties of Knowledge, he sets out to more or less prove that A community of minds is the basis of knowledge; it provides the measure of all things. (Davidson, 218). This is done by first categorizing knowledge into three distinct categories. There is knowledge of ones own mind, knowledge of another s mind, and knowledge of the shared physical world around us. He argues that no one could exist without the others. According to Davidson, knowledge of ones own mind differs from the other two types of knowledge in the sense that one knows the contents of their own mind ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Davidson, pg. 217) Davidson then goes on to say that knowledge of the propositional contents of our own minds is not possible without the other forms of knowledge, since there is no propositional thought without communication (Davidson, pg. 213). Furthermore, knowledge of others cannot be inferred unless we have knowledge of ourselves, as the process of coming to know another s mind is done by matching evidence from others behaviour to our knowledge of our own, thus showing that knowledge of our own minds and others is also mutually dependent. He acknowledges that there are a great deal of possible ways that we could assign our native language to the language and behavior of another to come about an understanding. He relates this to the measurement of weight in the sense that no matter what system you use for measurement; kilograms, pounds ounces, etc., the invariable factor, in this case the actual weight of the object, is the fact of the matter, not the arbitrary units of measure. His point is that there will likely always be indeterminacy in our translations, but we will often get the general idea. He also believes that there are no strict laws that connect mental states with physical ones, stating that such laws can exist only when concepts connected by the laws are based on criteria of the same sort (Davidson, pg. 215). This all leads to the fact that we will never be able to agree on how sentences and thoughts should be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Also, tests like The Army Classification Battery and the Navy Basic Test Battery were used to classify recruits into service specific jobs. In 1968, the ASVAB was introduced as a part of the Student Testing Program. The Air Force was the first to use the ASVAB in 1973, followed by the Marine Corps in 1974.
