Essay on Control Theory Corporate Crime
Conflict theory primarily argues that it is the economic system of capitalism itself that produces crime
however, in order to understand the causes of corporate crime, the neoliberal framework and its
utilization must be examined. Neoliberalism accords the state not to intervene or regulate the market,
and in effect produces inequality but most importantly crime. Criminal acts are committed by the
elites that are following the core of the neoliberal doctrine which is maximizing profits while
minimizing costs. Corporate crimes are committed by executives or executive officers on behalf of
corporations to further their own interests or the interest of the organizations . These crimes can result
in harming the working class which may ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This result in a conflict between the culture of competition and ethical standards however,
corporations are not like humans they are artificial legal entities with perpetual life chartered by the
government for their existence (Nadar, 2004; pg 8). Corporations have achieved a status where they
have all constitutional rights that people have except the right against self incrimination. Corporations
engage in criminal activites on a number of different levels that harm and affect the general public
however, the public for the most part remains unaware of these activites because these elites invest in
hiding the truth which thereby renders their actions invisible.
THE INVISBALITY OF COPRORATE CRIME Secondly, Marxists argue that is it the connected
ability of the powerful to manipulate values of society which is why corporate crimes are rendered
invisible. Academics find it difficult to analyze corporate crime because large scale survey data is not
available so researchers have to rely on non objective crime statistics collected by impartial
government agencies such as StatsCan or the Home Office which usually yield tiny samples (Snider,
2005; pg 186). Corporations do not want sociologist investigating their business practises, unlike
traditional offenders they have the ability to resist such incursions. On the other hand, the justice
department for the most part

Blanche Dubois In A Streetcar Named Desire
Every person in their life has been a Blanche at some point or another in their life. I know that I have
done this personally and am working on bettering that part of myself but I too have been
unrealistically optimistic, or in the word of Mrs. Dubois I don t want realism I want magic. In the
beautifully tragic story of A Streetcar Named Desire we find that Blanche Dubois has stepped into the
next level of fantasy and has not only tried to make others believe the lies she tells but has begun to
believe it herself.
It is important to note why Mrs. Dubois makes up fantasies in her head and why she pushes them off
on others. Blanche says in the play Magic, I try to give that to people. I misrepresent things to them. I
don t tell the truth, I tell what ought to be the truth. By gaining this insight into her mind frame we can
see that she uses a manipulation of the truth as kindness. Her traumatizing experiences such as finding
her husband and later his corpse after committing suicide is too much reality for her and as a defense
mechanism creates a fantasy. In her own way Blanche believes that it is her role to protect others from
a reality that may hurt them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She allows delusion to control her life and assists the ongoing lie by continuously drinking. Blanche is
also afraid of aging and of not being seen the most presentable she possibly can look at all occasion.
In fact, she fears being undesirable so much that she refuses to go out in daylight hours or have bright
lights anywhere that she may be. This amount of disassociation comes from a deeply rooted sense of
dislike of oneself. A person being able to evaluate themselves and make changes for the future is
essential, Blanche lacks this quality

Education College Students Face A Very Long Road For...
Many people have an easy road to get a higher education, many don t because we all come from
different culture, society, and social class. Also, the general public has their own complications in their
life. Unfortunately, money is the biggest problem that almost all people have to face and during their
college life, it is hard for students to manage money for tuition fees, bills, and for the food and shelter.
Community College Students Face a Very Long Road to Graduation is an article written by Ginia
Bellafante and published by The New York Time on October 3, 2014. In the article, Bellafante has
written about the LaGurdia Community College student, Vladimir de Jesus academic life and also
talks about why Community Colleges have low graduation rate. Vladimir de Jesus is a student of
LaGuardia Community College and his major is in art. Mr. de Jesus is facing many obstacles as a
student because he has one daughter, who he needs to take care of full time. Also, in this family, he
has no one to support him financially and mentally. Mr. de Jesus does get finical aid, but it is not
enough. Another obstacle he is facing is that he had failed math 90 for the third times. According to
the author, more than 60 percent of Community College student have to take developmental math
courses and 70 percent of students do not pass. The college made some change in their math course by
getting the students to take more statistics based math course because students who took statistics

Questions On History And Beliefs
Midterm Lesson Plan #4
Reading:
History and Beliefs:
This religion dates back to more than 2500 year ago. The most recent spiritual leader was Mahavira.
He has been given the title victor because of his ability to conquer ignorance as well as achieve the
luminous perfect soul (Pluralism Project p2) He then embarked on a preaching through all of India
talking about the truth he had realized. He attracted people from all walks of life, whom he taught
about the presence of soul in all beings and that karma is what ultimately binds us in the circle of
suffering and that nonviolence towards all living things (ahimsa) would be the way to overcome this
cycle.
At the core of beliefs and conduct for Jains lie the five great vows:

Two distinctive branches of Jainism exist with traditions and spiritual variations of their own. Sky
Clad or Digambar monks divest themselves of clothing. They also hold that women need to be reborn a
male in order to achieve liberation. Their only possessions would be a whiskbroom that they would
use to sweep away any living animal before they walk or sit and a water pot. The other branch is the
Svetambar who believe in the idea that women can obtain enlightenment because of Tirthankara Malli
who was a woman, and wear white clothes. They are allowed more possessions including the clothes.
Puja in front of images is also allowed.
Ethics:
As well as the three jewels which constitute right faith, right knowledge and right conduct. In order to
comply with this in an individual s life the Jains live with the ideals of non violence so they are
vegetarian, they recognize that speech can cause great harm and even violence, they honor a
commitment to justice between the rich and the poor, being faithful in marriage for the laity and
chastity for the monastic, lastly balancing the needs to possess things for the laity so as not to replace
spiritual love with the love of possessions. Ethical considerations abound for the Jain as to
employment, education, and public policy.
Education: will need to be considered for students in a traditional American schooling in order to
preserve these beliefs. One would need to abstain from a animal

The Theory Of Capitalism And Capitalism
Studying capitalism is an already difficult subject to focus on by itself. However, what makes this
subject more complex is looking at it through a historical approach. Nevertheless, it is important to
study historical materialism in order to fully understand contemporary social structures. The modes of
production, as well as class relations, tie together as they are both important in what Engels was trying
to discuss in his paper. He also discusses the alienation of individuals as well as supply and demand of
the market. This paper focuses on Friedrich Engels paper titled Anti Dühring while specifically
focusing on the chapter named Theoretical that discusses historical materialism and contradictions in
capitalism. In this paper, it will be established what Engels means when he speaks of historical
materialism as well as manage to explain the fundamental contradiction in capitalism and examples of
such contradictions.
Historical materialism is a term derived from Marxist ideals. Engels discusses regarding this topic in
this paper. He discusses Feudalism in regards to capitalism as well as capitalism in regards to
socialism (PROF). This includes discussing individual and social appropriation in regards to
individual and social production (PROF). Historically, it was considered that the causes of changes in
society were based on the changes in production and exchange. In Engels perspective, materialism
heavily influenced social structure. He states that the basis of every

Factors Affecting Student Success
Factors Affecting Student Success in Associate Degree Nursing Programs Introduction to the Problem
The rate of academic attrition is an overwhelming concern that many associate degree nursing
programs are facing. Undergraduate nursing program attrition rates continue to increase, despite the
high demand for student placement in these programs. High attrition rates in nursing students of as
much as 50% have been reported by some schools in certain states (Benn Pacquiao, 2010).
Additionally, as much as one fourth of nursing students across the country are lost through attrition at
some point in their program (Seago, 2012). The problem addressed in this Scholarly Project is this
high rate of attrition, specifically in the sciences ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Just like any college student, not all nursing students are well primed to shift to such a difficult
pathway. Much research has been done which has focused on causes of attrition in ADN programs.
Much of this research has studied the predictability of the relationship between multiple academic and
non academic factors attributable to academic success as an ADN student, as measured by grades and
attrition. With a specific focus on reviewing the prerequisite sciences, the literature search revealed a
fissure in knowledge as it relates to ascertaining prerequisite biological science courses as being
statistically predictive indicators of ADN students academic success (Griffiths, Bevil, O Connor,
Wieland, 1995; Jordan Reid, 1997; Potolsky, Cohen, Saylor, 2003; Seago, Keane, Chen, Spetz,
Grumbach, 2012; Wong Wong, 1999). Pathophysiology and pharmacology are both required courses
within an associate degree nursing program. Due to the highly difficult science intensive and quantity
intensive nature of these courses, it is often placed somewhere in the middle of the 2 year program in
order to ease students into the nursing curriculum at the beginning of the program yet with the purpose
of this to develop a student s competency of pathophysiology and pharmacology early enough in the
program to apply directly to safe patient care during scheduled clinical experiences. Due to the
difficulty and intensity of these

Existentialism and Rebt
Existential Therapy and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy
Integrated Approach to Counseling
During a lifetime, most individuals question the meaning of their existence at one point or another.
Existential therapy aims to help individuals find purpose, have better defined goals, and live life to the
fullest. Existential therapy takes into account cultural, social and political values of the client. It
attempts to help the client live more deliberately, while accepting life s unpredictable challenges and
contradictions. Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) is complementary to existential therapy
by providing techniques to help clients make changes once their awareness is increased through
existential discovery. Existential therapy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are many reasons why individuals are afraid of death: inability to take care of dependents, pain
and sadness that loved ones will feel, or fear of the afterlife. But one of the most common reasons is
the fear of nothingness and loss of self (Yalom, 1980). Death anxiety can manifest itself in many
different ways (Yalom, 1980). One s feeling of missing exciting events or the desire to control the
surrounding world, demonstrate this manifestation. These unhealthy thoughts help individuals ease
fear of death by dealing not with the real and terrifying source of anxiety, but indirectly, through more
socially acceptable actions. Many people protect themselves from death anxiety by denying it. Yalom
(1980) discussed two ways that accomplish this goal: the ultimate rescuer and personal specialness.
Both ideas lead people to feel that they will not be affected by misfortune like others might be. The
ultimate rescuer is a type of defense mechanism leading people to believe that someone will come into
their life and save them from their problems. An example of this would be a person with severe
financial problems needing money to take care of health problems believing that someone or
something will bring the needed money and the situation will work itself out. Personal specialness
involves the belief that one is in a way different from others and therefore immune from the hardships
of life. Personal specialness

Worst New Years Essay
Worst New Years in My Life The carpeted floor was covered with dust, while I washing my hands. As
I walk outside I could see world renowned Sydney s, New Year s fireworks shoot across the sky. The
vibrant colors and the designs were beautiful. I could hear the sharp sounds of people across Sydney,
Australia celebrating New Years. I could hear the laughter all throughout the house. I can hear the
beautiful music ringing in my ears. Everyone was enjoying the beautiful party. The carpeted floor
gave me a weird feeling. There were dust particles scattered throughout the floor.
Suddenly, my nose starts to itch, my ears hear a ringing sound like no other. I walked down the hall of
my aunt s friends house seeing if it really actually hurt. Oh. It must be nothing. I thought. I walked up
and down watching the tulips, roses, and orchids everywhere. Saahil. You are crying. My sister said.
What? It must be just something in my eye. I called. My eyes start to hurt my eyes start burn. I go to
the bathroom and put water in my eye. I look in the mirror and I see myself with two almost
completely red eyes. I try to open my eyes and do not see anything. I try to let out a scream, but
cannot. The stinging was jack knifing me in my brain. The tears roll down my cheek. I blindly walk
toward my mom. I try to open my eyes and it automatically closes.
It hurts Mom! It hurts! I cried. I feel a sudden urge to lie down.

Essay about Alfred Hitchcock s Rear Window and the Crime...
Alfred Hitchcock s Rear Window continues and expands on traditional themes of the Detective Fiction
Genre. In 1841, Murder in the Rue Morgue by Edgar Allan Poe broke the traditional character
constraints of the Crime Fiction Genre, by introducing a new type of lead detective figure. The ideal
detective figure encompassed traits of superiority, intelligence, wit and a keen sense for observation.
The lead detective figure is a sophisticated character that is not bound to the constrictions and
limitations of the Law and the exploration of this figure through the use of visual aid and techniques,
provides contrast and variation on the common themes within the genre. Hitchcock provides an
alternative approach through a new medium carving way ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The minimal use of dramatic irony plays an important role to the structure of the mystery, when Jeff
falls asleep on the night of the murder and Mrs. Thordwell is seen to leave the building at six a.m. Jeff
calls on Tom s assistance to investigate further, yet Tom believes that there is a perfectly sound
explanation for Jeff s delusional accusations I think you saw something with a very simple explanation
(Tom Doyle). Tom seems to already have made up his mind that Jeff is delusional, therefore does not
apply the keen observation skills that a detective would have towards the investigation, creating a
contrast to the ability of the classic detective figure reminiscent to Poe s work. Hitchcock explores the
Locked room method by creating a reversed locked room situation, as it is now the detective that is
restricted to an area rather than the victim. The locked room method, and sense of entrapment is
prominent throughout various areas of the films environments; Thordwells constant locking and
unlocking of his door, the entrapment of Mrs. Thordwell as bed ridden, the small claustrophobic
apartments, the closed in courtyard, even to go as far as the confinement of the newlyweds whom
open a window scarcely to get air. The audience is also alert to this pattern through the closing

The Purpose Of Art And Its Felicity
Joseph Anton Koch The purpose of art and its felicity lies both in its aesthetic quality as well is the
instructive capacity of art, wherein the various perspectives employed by artist s help to understand
the particular period in which the work was created and the influences that may have attributed to the
final product. The early 19th century in Europe was marked by a desire to return to the classicism of
the Greek and Roman empires as it connoted a sense of stability after the upheaval of the French
revolution which had brought down existing social, political and economic structures to an end. The
work ofJoseph Anton Koch, a German painter who chose to live in Rome and imbibe the traditions of
the classicists shows in his work a clear attachment to the values of linear composition and idyllic
subject matter and this is clearly apparent in his monumental workHeroic Landscape with Rainbow,
now a part of the European gallery at the Metropolitan Museum of Arts in New York City. This work is
an apt illustration of the manner in which the neoclassical tradition of landscape painting became an
important part of the works of European painters of the early 19th century as a means of portraying
the kind of society which people aspired to after the upheavals of the late 18th century. The heroic
landscape as a painting genre had achieved great popularity in the 17th century when artists like
Nicholas Poussin and Claude Lorrain captured the beauty of the natural environment as a

Factors Affecting The Palm Tree Trimming Services
Factors to consider during palm tree trimming and the best time to do that
Description: Wondering when to take up palm tree trimming? There is no fixed time of trimming but
whenever you feel the need, call up professionals for help.
Specialized companies all across the globe offer professional tree trimming services. In fact, no one
likes to cut or trim a fully grown, beautiful palm tree. But then, it becomes necessary most of the
times. If the tree is overgrown, it may impede the appearance of your lawn. It can also intervene with
the utility lines. The roots of the palm tree may get through the main foundation and the very structure
of your home. Thus, there are number of reasons for taking palm tree removal and palm tree trimming
services. Before you trim the palm tree, various factors need to be considered. To let the trees grow in
a healthy manner, trimming is essential. The kind of tree you are trimming, the condition of the tree
matters when you are undertaking tree trimming. There is no particular season for tree pruning and
this activity may be taken anytime you feel the need.
Do you really need the tree trimming and removal?
When you consider tree trimming, you need to take into account whether the pruning is at all required
or not. If the tree is posing a threat to your home foundation and is spreading too much, trimming must
be undertaken. On the other hand, if the tree is diseased, posing a threat to the lives of other trees,
remove that tree from the site.

Horatio s Disappearance Of Ghosts
Regarding the ghost s regular appearance at 1 am, I have two hunches:
First, the ghost may be appearing at that time to make clear that his presence is real and not a figment
of the imagination. In Act I, he appears when Horatio s shift begins. This might be so Horatio can see
him first hand, seeing that Horatio is the only watchman Hamlet will actually believe.
Second, the ghost may be appearing at such hour because ghosts are not allowed to be out in daylight.
Based on myths of the Elizabethan time, ghosts were only allowed to leave their abyss after the
witching hour (midnight) ─ this gives quite an eerie effect.
As for the ghost s disappearance, he vanishes when the rooster crows. The rooster is like a clock that
anticipates sunrise and

Hip Hop Evolution
As music generally known for referencing violence, rebellion, and disorder, hip hop and rap have
rapidly become prominent genres of music in today s culture. Beginning in the 1970 s at New York
City block parties, hip hop became a fan favorite as a radical new mix of upbeat funk and disco music.
Mixing and isolating the percussive breaks of funk songs, DJ Kool Herc, the founding father of hip
hop, began to use turntables to manipulate songs on records manually. These uptempo, catchy beats
became very popular throughout the 1980 s among the younger generation, especially in the United
States. The younger generation created their own branch of hip hop known as rap. Rappers speak

Analysis Of The Book By Ta Nehisi Coates
The recently awarded 2015 National Book Award for Nonfiction author, Ta Nehisi Coates, has stirred
quite some debate over the author himself and the issue on race in America. He is harsh and direct
when it comes to commenting on the political policies in America or even the president. Much of Ta
Nehisi Coates s works are affected by his life living in America as a black person. The violent and
fearsome life he has lived became the only form of life he is acquainted to. As a result, he strongly
believes that white supremacy dominates, a condition which will never cease to be. Hope being a
central element to the black moment is absent in his projections; this hopelessness in Coates s works is
a center of discussion to the critics. There exist strong supporters of Coates who applauds him for his
truthfulness and there are some who view him as a pessimist and a cynic. All the while, Coates
defends himself by saying that he is simply a realist who refuses to hide behind the blind naivete like
the rest. Growing up in West Baltimore, there was nothing sanctified about the laws of the streets (25).
Death, surrounding his life, seemed almost a commonplace occurrence. From his schooling, Coates
felt like the schools were hiding something, drugging us with false morality so that we could not see,
so that we did not ask: Why for us and only us is the other side of free will and free spirits an assault
upon our bodies? (26). He states that this was not a hyperbolic

Due to the crimes committed, some wonder if Charles was severely mentally ill and did not have any

Substance abuse can substantially increase violence and hallucinations. Bad hallucinations not only
include false seeings, but also false hearing, feeling, tasting, and smelling of things that are not real.

In accordance with the EMT Code of Ethics adopted by the National Association of Emergency
Medical Technicians, EMTs pledge to conserve life, alleviate suffering, promote health, do no harm,
and encourage the quality and equal availability of emergency medical care . Through the medical
education for an EMT license, a student learns how to appropriately treat and care for a medical or
traumatic emergency in order to be able to successfully follow this system. Students are also taught
the concepts on how to follow the moral and ethical components of the pledge. However, actually
being prepared to handle these kinds of dilemmas in real life scenarios is a challenge EMT face no
matter if they have been an EMS provider for months or years. These demanding situations usually
arise when there is a discrepancy between the EMT s personal moral values of right and wrong and the
ethical standards required professionally and socially. Major challenges include circumstances
involving resuscitation, triage, consent, and negligence. The three major life breathing concerns for a
patient is a disruption of the airway, breathing, and circulation. When a patient goes into cardiac arrest
due to pre existing conditions or trauma, an EMT will initiate the steps of cardiopulmonary

The Moral Responsibilities Within A Corporation
Corporations can be large or small but they all have some sort of ethical impact on their employees,
shareholders, customers, community, and surrounding environments. Richard DeGeorge writes, We
can speak of corporations having moral responsibilities to act in certain ways, and they are morally
responsible for the consequences of their actions on people. (p. 200). Large corporations are
comprised of the board of directors, management, and their workers. They also deal with suppliers,
customers, and have competitors. This essay will examine the moral responsibilities within a
corporation.
In large corporations the success or failure of the company is the responsibility of the board of
directors. According to Richard DeGeorge, The members of the board are responsible to the
shareholders for the selection of honest, effective managers, and especially for the selection for the
CEO and of the president of the corporation. (p. 202). The board members have a moral responsibility
to ensure the corporation is run honestly, in respect to its major policies, and to ensure the interests of

The Importance Of Change In Video Game Development
A change in financial state when I left the video game development industry wasn t the biggest
stressor as I had saved up money and my wife was also working her small business which was brought
in enough income to maintain a lifestyle as we were closing down expenses of living in Montreal.
However, the time I spend in developing a small business came to a halt after having to move my
grandmother in law, and my in laws from two different states and place them in our home in Arizona.
The distraction was necessary to reduce expenses for both sets of family members as they were in
Virgina and New Hampture respectfully. My wife and I learned how to reinstate a mid 60s split level
house which took over a year to complete from demoing a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Then the 2015 Stock Market happen. Not one, but two major drops occurred that showed the same
signs of the 2007 2008 bear market that led to the Great Recession. I lost money trying to trade the
waves as the price action continued to be choppy like a great sea storm. I didn t know that I was
bleeding money as the coins where falling out of my pocket from transaction fees due to my stop loss
orders being triggered, a method I called the seat belt when a secerity starts to go the wrong way.
The biggest stressor was a when the earnings season occured and I had been following the fall of retail
(brick and morter). Companies where continuing to report horrible earning reports. I placed a virtual
trade on one of the retailers and I was right. The payout was huge. I felt that the trend was across the
industry, so I found the next retailer within the same subsector, clothing, as it was another mild winter,
and they company sold winter clothing for the season just like the previous trade. This time with real
money. There were a surprise earnings. The company beat expectations by a long shot. I knew in my
mind that this was not correct. But I had lost couple thousand dollars just on that one trade. I had just
felt a significant financial change. I watched my account drop nearly ten grand over the course of
2015. I didn t have that much to play with, but the chopping market

Role Of Fate In Antigone
Antigone s blinding loyalty to her family and to the gods launches her into Creon s deathly
punishment because she goes against his order meanwhile upholding the law of the gods and buries
Polynices, emphasizing that, although loyalty is crucial, it can, at times, cloud one s logical
judgement. Her rashness and thoughtlessness comes from her undiscerning loyalty to her family and
the divinities, and rage toward Creon for disrespecting the dead, which relates back to the rule of
heaven. Upon being questioned by Creon, Antigone replies fearlessly, That order did not come from
God.... / I knew that I should have to die, of course, / With or without your order.... / Only if I had let
my mother s son / Lie there unburied, then I could not have borne it. (Sophocles 138, 139). ... Show

Despite that, fate is not what drives her to act so impulsively, but rather her knowledge of her fate.
Although fate is mostly believed to dictate free will, in Antigone s case, her free will dictates her fate
because Sophocles really stresses that free will is logically incoherent, and fate is a vast network of
causal factors of one s free will. As a result, her loyalty both to the gods and her family catapulted her
life into misery. And the audiences are taught that positive emotions, at some point, will lead to
negative consequences because they overshadow reasonable

Morality and Dehumanization in One Day in the Life of...
The novel, One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, presents moral issues, and daily dehumanization
of men living in a camp in Russia in 1951. Ivan Denisovich, the protagonist in the novel spoke out
against Stalin, and was then put in a prison camp because of it. The novel presents a terrible situation
in which Ivan must overcome daily circumstances, which only a person living in a prison camp would
know how to survive. The tone and mood of the novel are able to work together to show the theme of
the novel, that human self respect is achieved as long as one is still holding onto it. The extract that
was chosen occurs on the last page of the novel. Shukhov has just returned from being counted, and
helping out another Zek, Tsezar, whose ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example of this is on lines one through five. Now they released you faster, for they were counting
one by one. The word you in the above quotation, shows how either Shukhov or the narrator may have
been speaking in the quotation; showing the free indirect discourse. The free indirect discourse helps
show the bleak tone of the novel. The bleak tone of the novel communicates the theme; human self
respect is achieved as long as one is still holding onto it. Because the tone is bleak, the theme is more
emphasized through Shukhovs actions of holding his self respect. Whether it may be by holding onto
items of sentimental purpose, or hoping for a letter from his family. The mood of the novel also fits in
with the bleak tone. The dreary mood is seen through the tone, but goes deeper and describes the
emotions portrayed throughout the novel. The last paragraphs of the novel, lines 40 45, show the
dreary mood of the novel. A day without a dark cloud. Almost a happy day. There were three thousand
six hundred and fifty three days like that in his stretch. The quotation continues on, but from this
quotation one is able to notice the irony in it. That it may have been a happy day, but there are still so
many days to come that it is impossible to tell what those days will bring. The dreary mood is thus
demonstrated from the quotation. The

Chosen news/article: Government targets 1 crore consumers to give up LPG subsidy PTI Mar 29,
2015, 02.47PM IST, The Economic Times
1. Summary
Under the scheme, LPG cylinders are sold at market rates across the country. Consumers get Rs 558 in
their bank accounts so that they can buy LPG at the market rate of Rs 605 per 14.2 kg cylinder.
There is a strand of thought that in India the incomes of most consumers remain far below the global
average, and, therefore, it is the government s responsibility to pay for those who cannot afford.
Government expects that about one crore well off consumers will surrender the subsidy on cooking
gas after Prime Minister Narendra Modi s appeal to people not to take subsidy if they can afford to
buy LPG at market price.
This money can be used for schools and providing medical facilities. I appeal to people who can
afford LPG cylinders at market price, please do not take subsidised LPG, the Indian Prime Minister
said. 2. Background:
In fiscal year 2014 15 (to date) there have been no significant increases in the retail price of subsidized
LPG. On10th November 2014 it was reported that the per cylinder subsidy would be fixed at Rs 568
from March 2015 an amount Rs 163.36 above the average per cylinder under recovery recorded in
early October 2014.
Though the government has started DBT for LPG subsidy, the document pointed that the bottom 50

Industrial Age Model Summary
Grant Lichtman compares 2 types of learning environments, ecosystem verses industrial. He describes
the ecosystem to be creative, adaptive, permeable, dynamic, systemic, and self correcting; where the
industrial age model is contained, controlled, predictable, scalable, repeatable, and measurable. He
explains that today we are now living in a global ecosystem that consisted of 4 spheres, a fifth sphere
is currently evolving known as the cognitosphere, which is the system of knowledge creation and
management. Many individuals have access to this sphere around the world through cell phones. He
continues to expand about how if we want to reach the 21st century learner we need to remove three
things from the industrial age model: anchors, dams, and silos. He describes how anchors are our
egotistical time, space, and subject; dams are how college boards and college admissions want us to
shove kids into packets of content rather than context, and how as teachers we remain in silos of
classrooms, department, and divisions and that we need to be communicating, collaborating, ... Show

Elements Of Realism In Red Kayik
Drowning in a river, going to jail, and hurting your friends, this is the hard reality that Brady, a main
character in Red Kayak, just happens to be going through. Brady has to deal with Ben, a young child
of the DiAngelos, a family who just moved in. Brady was Ben s babysitter and he had dealt with him
in a traumatic situation, his death caused by drowning (which Brady s friends took part in.) This
contributes to the fact that this novel, Red Kayak, is realistic fiction. Realistic fiction is a story that
may happen in reality and the five elements are credible events, authentic characters, real settings, true
to life themes, and believable dialogue. Red Kayak is an excellent example of realistic fiction because
it includes three elements like real setting, authentic characters, and true to life themes. First, Red
Kayak, is an excellent example of realistic fiction because it has real settings. The setting that takes
place in the novel is on the Corsica river as well as the Chesapeake Bay. For example, on pg. 5 it
states, It´s a pretty river the Corsica. It also states on the back summary of the book, Brady loves his
life on the Chesapeake Bay. In conclusion, Red Kayak, is an example of realistic fiction since it is
dealing with one of the elements, real setting. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The characters that are involved in the book are Digger, Brady, and J.T, but keep in mind there are of
course more characters. For example on pg.106 it states, Digger was in his front yard and, shooting
baskets with his little brother, Hank, when I skidded to a holt on my bike. This evidence supports the
topic because it shows the characters actions in their environment which are most similar to ours. In
summary, Red Kayak has elements of realistic fiction including authentic

IKEA is a non profit organization which differentiates its business structure compared to other
furnishing companies. This structure gives IKEA two main advantages:
The structure prevents a hostile takeover.
Lower tax payments.
The business structure of IKEA consists of two parts: Stichting INGKA Foundation and Interogo

Foundation, INGKA Holding B.V. and Stiching IMAS Foundation which give advice on the financial

It is the parent company of Inter IKEA Holding S.A. in Luxembourg. The Inter IKEA Holding S.A. is
the worldwide franchisor of the IKEA concept and it owns the IKEA brand. In exchange to open an
IKEA store and use its products and brand name, every store has to pay a 3% royalty fee over the total
revenue of the store to the Inter IKEA Holding S.A.. These royalties are directly paid from the profits
of the INGKA Holding S.A.. The beneficiaries are not made public but it is not hard to conclude that
the biggest part flows directly into the hands of the Kamprad family members since they are the only
shareholders of the Inter IKEA Holding S.A.. Another small part of the incomes goes to the Interogo
Foundation. The Interogo Foundation is controlled by a board of directors which solely exists of
external board members. The Kamprad family act as a watchdog to prevent any decision which are not
in line with their vision of how IKEA should be ruled and in which form IKEA should exist. The
Interogo Foundation has the aim to invest in the expansion and continuity of IKEA. Therefore, all the
funds that are owned by the Interogo Foundation may only be used when Inter IKEA Holding S.A. has
financial problems. The only exception for a partly withdrawal of the funds is when there has to be
spend a small amount on philanthropic charities to remain eligible as a foundation. This leads again to
lower tax payments. Due to the existence of the Inter IKEA Holding S.A. has Ingvar Kamprads plan to
keep IKEA a family business succeeded. The Kamprad family are the owners of the Inter IKEA
Holding S.A. and therefore fully control the franchise program and own the IKEA brand. This
combined with the multiple functions the members of the Kamprad family fulfil in INGKA Holding
B.V. and Stichting IKEA Foundation makes IKEA almost immune to a hostile

It is generally accepted that schizophrenia is a condition in which the person alters his representation
of reality in order to escape or withdraw from seemingly unresolvable conflicts and from social
interactions that are painful. (Nancy quotes Hill, Lewis B 1955) as important defining quote of what is
incorporated in characteristics of schizophrenia. In the mid 1970 s, in rural Ireland, cases of mental

The attitude towards sex was implemented as shameful, dirty, and guilt covered. Older men, 30 s late
40 s, were the most common relevance of schizophrenia, which Nancy implies has part to do with
sexual repression of these men. Hopelessness was often common, and sexual appendages were seen as
a burden, Nancy used a personal portrait of one of the patients of the hospital to show this. (pg.331) It
seems Ballybran was caught in between old and new social systems and moral economics (pg. 49).
The Family structure was also a large part of development unusual social habits; children were
neglected of personal interaction with mother necessary for early neurological development, but at the

out of sight, and not to ask for things such as sweets or attention. Depending on gender and position of

Attending A Traditional Classroom Setting
I have been fortunate enough to attend college in a traditional classroom setting as well as an online
setting; I can say for my academic journey the online setting better suited my learning type. When I
graduated high school I went to a traditional university, I did not do well and ended withdrawing and
failing classes. I attended an online university a few years later and found that it was a lot more
conducive to my learning style. The traditional college setting may be better suited for students that
may need more structure for learning. Sitting in a classroom with a professor telling you exactly what
assignments are, and when they are due is needed for some students. In a traditional college setting the
professor will stand in front of the class and give a lecture, at times this lecture will be far from what
is needed and filled with those professors personal opinions. Then at a time where you will be given
an exam, the material was given is nothing of what the professor lectured on. So in essence, the
student will have to sit and listen to a professor lecture and then do their own reading and research.
When attending an online program, the student is responsible for making the time to read, study, and
complete the necessary work. Myself, I cannot say that I will be able to carve out two to four hours a
couple times a week to listen to a professor speak. My opinions are harsh, but that comes from actual
experiences. Logging on and reading what I need

All Souls Book Review Essay
All Souls: A Family Story From Southie By Micheal Patrick MacDonald. (Ballentine Books under
The Random House Publishing Corporation, 1999, 266pp. $14.00) Michael Patrick MacDonald saw
hatred animated on a Friday in the early days of October. Some people were reading the newspaper in
brightly lit kitchens. Some children were coloring with brightly hued crayons. Some fathers were
getting into cars in front of their beautiful homes. But there were no crayons, bright kitchens, or
fathers in nice cars on Dorchester Street in Southie that day. Only the cruelest manifestation of blind

In a ‘He was a good man underneath all of that rage sort of fashion, he exposes Southie s grave and
serious problems, all the while maintaining that it was the best place in the whole world. We tend to
marginalize the poor, the destitute, the food stamp and welfare recipients among us. We like to pretend
that they are not there, much like the residents of Southie liked to pretend that the violence and anger
and tragedy in Southie weren t there. We like to try to compartmentalize this part of our own society,
this very real set of people who still live in our towns. Who mourn their dead at our churches, who
lower them into the ground in our cemeteries, who hand food stamps to the cashier at our grocery
stores. We have all been guilty of it. How could we not be? How could we really grasp, realize, come
to terms with, comprehend such an alien life? Michael Patrick MacDonald is our translator. He relays
the past as Southie has written it on his heart. He hands it to us in a language we might better
understand. MacDonald opens the door and invites us to sit down at his Southie dinner table. To lie on
a mattress on the floor next to him and his brothers. To come to the hospital and watch Ma MacDonald
beat the daylights out of a man who didn t value her family as much as she did. To stand inside the
sterile green walls at Mass Mental. To trade stories with all the Southie kids about who had a
connection to Whitey Bulger. To

How Did Thomas More Impact On Society
During the time period of 650CE 1750CE there were people who highly impacted the Church and

Rose for Emily Reader Response
A Rose for Emily Reader Response Essay All men and women are created equal and deserve fair
treatment from the opposite sex. However, since the beginning of history, sexual equality has not been
a virtue that was closely followed. Men tend to falsely assume that since they are physically more
capable than women, they are inherently also more important. Obviously that is not the case and this
sexism tends to create a powerful barrier between males and females. Thankfully, modern day culture
has vastly diminished the discrimination of women while resorting to more politically correct
viewpoints. Though in the early 1900s when A Rose for Emily was set, the Deep South still
considered women as major inferiorities to men, which is made ... Show more content on

When discussing Colonel Sartoris invention of an involved and skeptical tale about why Emily had
her taxes remitted, it is stated, Only a man of Colonel Sartoris generation and thought could have
invented it, and only a woman could have believed it (Faulkner, 217). Once again, instead of possibly
just hinting at the idea that women have a weak and feeble mind, the narrator just comes straight out
and makes his opinion seem like truth. The narrator was so ignorant and naïve that he presented his
idea that the invented story was ridiculous, to the extent that only a woman could believe it. I have
never heard something so absurd and wonder how a woman could be conceived as such an
incompetent fool. In retrospect, I did not live in this time period and it is a fact that women in the early
twentieth century attained less schooling than their male counterparts. However, does that give men
the right to go about and treat women like incompetent fools? I realize that authors have the freedom
to write a story from whatever perspective they wish, no matter how biased or misleading it may be,
but I also think people should take away valuable knowledge from the text they are reading. In the
case of A Rose for Emily, I did learn some good morals such as the power of death, but I mostly came
away with the idea that I am superior to the women in my life. I am not sure if that is what Faulkner
intended, but it is certainly not a

  • 2. Essay on Control Theory Corporate Crime Conflict theory primarily argues that it is the economic system of capitalism itself that produces crime however, in order to understand the causes of corporate crime, the neoliberal framework and its utilization must be examined. Neoliberalism accords the state not to intervene or regulate the market, and in effect produces inequality but most importantly crime. Criminal acts are committed by the elites that are following the core of the neoliberal doctrine which is maximizing profits while minimizing costs. Corporate crimes are committed by executives or executive officers on behalf of corporations to further their own interests or the interest of the organizations . These crimes can result in harming the working class which may ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This result in a conflict between the culture of competition and ethical standards however, corporations are not like humans they are artificial legal entities with perpetual life chartered by the government for their existence (Nadar, 2004; pg 8). Corporations have achieved a status where they have all constitutional rights that people have except the right against self incrimination. Corporations engage in criminal activites on a number of different levels that harm and affect the general public however, the public for the most part remains unaware of these activites because these elites invest in hiding the truth which thereby renders their actions invisible. THE INVISBALITY OF COPRORATE CRIME Secondly, Marxists argue that is it the connected ability of the powerful to manipulate values of society which is why corporate crimes are rendered invisible. Academics find it difficult to analyze corporate crime because large scale survey data is not available so researchers have to rely on non objective crime statistics collected by impartial government agencies such as StatsCan or the Home Office which usually yield tiny samples (Snider, 2005; pg 186). Corporations do not want sociologist investigating their business practises, unlike traditional offenders they have the ability to resist such incursions. I know that I have done this personally and am working on bettering that part of myself but I too have been unrealistically optimistic, or in the word of Mrs. Dubois I don t want realism I want magic. In the beautifully tragic story of A Streetcar Named Desire we find that Blanche Dubois has stepped into the next level of fantasy and has not only tried to make others believe the lies she tells but has begun to believe it herself. It is important to note why Mrs. Dubois makes up fantasies in her head and why she pushes them off on others. Blanche says in the play Magic, I try to give that to people. I misrepresent things to them. I don t tell the truth, I tell what ought to be the truth. By gaining this insight into her mind frame we can see that she uses a manipulation of the truth as kindness. Her traumatizing experiences such as finding her husband and later his corpse after committing suicide is too much reality for her and as a defense mechanism creates a fantasy. In her own way Blanche believes that it is her role to protect others from a reality that may hurt them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He has been given the title victor because of his ability to conquer ignorance as well as achieve the luminous perfect soul (Pluralism Project p2) He then embarked on a preaching through all of India talking about the truth he had realized. He attracted people from all walks of life, whom he taught about the presence of soul in all beings and that karma is what ultimately binds us in the circle of suffering and that nonviolence towards all living things (ahimsa) would be the way to overcome this cycle. • 6. The Theory Of Capitalism And Capitalism Studying capitalism is an already difficult subject to focus on by itself. However, what makes this subject more complex is looking at it through a historical approach. Nevertheless, it is important to study historical materialism in order to fully understand contemporary social structures. The modes of production, as well as class relations, tie together as they are both important in what Engels was trying to discuss in his paper. He also discusses the alienation of individuals as well as supply and demand of the market. This paper focuses on Friedrich Engels paper titled Anti Dühring while specifically focusing on the chapter named Theoretical that discusses historical materialism and contradictions in capitalism. In this paper, it will be established what Engels means when he speaks of historical materialism as well as manage to explain the fundamental contradiction in capitalism and examples of such contradictions. Historical materialism is a term derived from Marxist ideals. Engels discusses regarding this topic in this paper. He discusses Feudalism in regards to capitalism as well as capitalism in regards to socialism (PROF). Factors Affecting Student Success Factors Affecting Student Success in Associate Degree Nursing Programs Introduction to the Problem The rate of academic attrition is an overwhelming concern that many associate degree nursing programs are facing. High attrition rates in nursing students of as much as 50% have been reported by some schools in certain states (Benn Pacquiao, 2010). Just like any college student, not all nursing students are well primed to shift to such a difficult pathway. Much research has been done which has focused on causes of attrition in ADN programs. Much of this research has studied the predictability of the relationship between multiple academic and non academic factors attributable to academic success as an ADN student, as measured by grades and attrition. With a specific focus on reviewing the prerequisite sciences, the literature search revealed a fissure in knowledge as it relates to ascertaining prerequisite biological science courses as being statistically predictive indicators of ADN students academic success (Griffiths, Bevil, O Connor, Wieland, 1995; Jordan Reid, 1997; Potolsky, Cohen, Saylor, 2003; Seago, Keane, Chen, Spetz, Grumbach, 2012; Wong Wong, 1999). Existential therapy takes into account cultural, social and political values of the client. There are many reasons why individuals are afraid of death: inability to take care of dependents, pain and sadness that loved ones will feel, or fear of the afterlife. But one of the most common reasons is the fear of nothingness and loss of self (Yalom, 1980). Death anxiety can manifest itself in many different ways (Yalom, 1980). One s feeling of missing exciting events or the desire to control the surrounding world, demonstrate this manifestation. These unhealthy thoughts help individuals ease fear of death by dealing not with the real and terrifying source of anxiety, but indirectly, through more socially acceptable actions. Many people protect themselves from death anxiety by denying it. Yalom (1980) discussed two ways that accomplish this goal: the ultimate rescuer and personal specialness. Both ideas lead people to feel that they will not be affected by misfortune like others might be. The ultimate rescuer is a type of defense mechanism leading people to believe that someone will come into their life and save them from their problems. An example of this would be a person with severe financial problems needing money to take care of health problems believing that someone or something will bring the needed money and the situation will work itself out. Personal specialness involves the belief that one is in a way different from others and therefore immune from the hardships of life. Personal specialness ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Suddenly, my nose starts to itch, my ears hear a ringing sound like no other. I walked down the hall of my aunt s friends house seeing if it really actually hurt. Oh. It must be nothing. I thought. In 1841, Murder in the Rue Morgue by Edgar Allan Poe broke the traditional character constraints of the Crime Fiction Genre, by introducing a new type of lead detective figure. The ideal detective figure encompassed traits of superiority, intelligence, wit and a keen sense for observation. The lead detective figure is a sophisticated character that is not bound to the constrictions and limitations of the Law and the exploration of this figure through the use of visual aid and techniques, provides contrast and variation on the common themes within the genre. Tom seems to already have made up his mind that Jeff is delusional, therefore does not apply the keen observation skills that a detective would have towards the investigation, creating a contrast to the ability of the classic detective figure reminiscent to Poe s work. The Purpose Of Art And Its Felicity Joseph Anton Koch The purpose of art and its felicity lies both in its aesthetic quality as well is the instructive capacity of art, wherein the various perspectives employed by artist s help to understand the particular period in which the work was created and the influences that may have attributed to the final product. The early 19th century in Europe was marked by a desire to return to the classicism of the Greek and Roman empires as it connoted a sense of stability after the upheaval of the French revolution which had brought down existing social, political and economic structures to an end. The work ofJoseph Anton Koch, a German painter who chose to live in Rome and imbibe the traditions of the classicists shows in his work a clear attachment to the values of linear composition and idyllic subject matter and this is clearly apparent in his monumental workHeroic Landscape with Rainbow, now a part of the European gallery at the Metropolitan Museum of Arts in New York City. This work is an apt illustration of the manner in which the neoclassical tradition of landscape painting became an important part of the works of European painters of the early 19th century as a means of portraying the kind of society which people aspired to after the upheavals of the late 18th century. The heroic landscape as a painting genre had achieved great popularity in the 17th century when artists like Nicholas Poussin and Claude Lorrain captured the beauty of the natural environment as a ... • 15. Horatio s Disappearance Of Ghosts Regarding the ghost s regular appearance at 1 am, I have two hunches: First, the ghost may be appearing at that time to make clear that his presence is real and not a figment of the imagination. In Act I, he appears when Horatio s shift begins. This might be so Horatio can see him first hand, seeing that Horatio is the only watchman Hamlet will actually believe. Second, the ghost may be appearing at such hour because ghosts are not allowed to be out in daylight. Based on myths of the Elizabethan time, ghosts were only allowed to leave their abyss after the witching hour (midnight) ─ this gives quite an eerie effect. Beginning in the 1970 s at New York City block parties, hip hop became a fan favorite as a radical new mix of upbeat funk and disco music. Mixing and isolating the percussive breaks of funk songs, DJ Kool Herc, the founding father of hip hop, began to use turntables to manipulate songs on records manually. Analysis Of The Book By Ta Nehisi Coates The recently awarded 2015 National Book Award for Nonfiction author, Ta Nehisi Coates, has stirred quite some debate over the author himself and the issue on race in America. He is harsh and direct when it comes to commenting on the political policies in America or even the president. Much of Ta Nehisi Coates s works are affected by his life living in America as a black person. The violent and fearsome life he has lived became the only form of life he is acquainted to. As a result, he strongly believes that white supremacy dominates, a condition which will never cease to be. Hope being a central element to the black moment is absent in his projections; this hopelessness in Coates s works is a center of discussion to the critics. There exist strong supporters of Coates who applauds him for his truthfulness and there are some who view him as a pessimist and a cynic. All the while, Coates defends himself by saying that he is simply a realist who refuses to hide behind the blind naivete like the rest. Growing up in West Baltimore, there was nothing sanctified about the laws of the streets (25). Death, surrounding his life, seemed almost a commonplace occurrence. From his schooling, Coates felt like the schools were hiding something, drugging us with false morality so that we could not see, so that we did not ask: Why for us and only us is the other side of free will and free spirits an assault upon our bodies? Richard DeGeorge writes, We can speak of corporations having moral responsibilities to act in certain ways, and they are morally responsible for the consequences of their actions on people. (p. 200). Large corporations are comprised of the board of directors, management, and their workers. They also deal with suppliers, customers, and have competitors. This essay will examine the moral responsibilities within a corporation. In large corporations the success or failure of the company is the responsibility of the board of directors. According to Richard DeGeorge, The members of the board are responsible to the shareholders for the selection of honest, effective managers, and especially for the selection for the CEO and of the president of the corporation. Summary Under the scheme, LPG cylinders are sold at market rates across the country. Consumers get Rs 558 in their bank accounts so that they can buy LPG at the market rate of Rs 605 per 14.2 kg cylinder. Brady has to deal with Ben, a young child of the DiAngelos, a family who just moved in. Brady was Ben s babysitter and he had dealt with him in a traumatic situation, his death caused by drowning (which Brady s friends took part in.) This contributes to the fact that this novel, Red Kayak, is realistic fiction. Realistic fiction is a story that may happen in reality and the five elements are credible events, authentic characters, real settings, true to life themes, and believable dialogue. Red Kayak is an excellent example of realistic fiction because it includes three elements like real setting, authentic characters, and true to life themes. However, since the beginning of history, sexual equality has not been a virtue that was closely followed. Men tend to falsely assume that since they are physically more capable than women, they are inherently also more important.
