Ethical Behavior And The Business Community
During the 2008 economic crisis there were a lot of questions about ethical behavior in the business
community. The result of the behavior led to questions about how and when the practice of unethical
behavior began and if it was related to practices students learned while in business school. Rocky
University has commissioned a group to review the data provided from an anonymous survey to find
if there is a culture and history of cheating in the school of business. Business ethics is the study of
proper business policies and practices regarding potentially controversial issues (Investopedia, 2016).
This definition is relatable to the ethics in business school studies. The use of non approved material
or assistance can lead to questions about the collection and validity of the results in any student s
submissions. How does the two relate, and is there a correlation between cheating in school and
unethical behavior in the business community? By understanding more about what is being allowed in
the university, it may provide us with insight into when this type of behavior starts and how can the
university community can combat it at an introductory level. Rocky University provided a sample of
90 graduating business students with responses to three questions regarding academic improprieties.
This report will evaluate the data and provide answers to the following questions, the total of students
who are considered cheating, proportion of students that copied off the

George Orwell Privacy
Privacy at the Cost of National Security Big Brother is watching (Orwell). The truth is that anyone
reading this paper from the internet has the right to know that someone thousands of miles away could
very well be watching (Orwell). On top of this shocking fact, a victim would never even know they
were being watched. George Orwell knew what he was talking about when he wrote of a society in
which all things are monitored by the government and an individual s right to privacy is breached for
the sake of peace and safety. Some might even say America is such a society today. The citizens in the
USA believe that their government is doing all in its power to protect them, but when do national
security measures such as spying and monitoring become ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In pursuit of a serious threat, it is understandable that some information such as that might be useful.
Many people will argue that the current capabilities of different agencies are constitutional and are for
the country s benefit; some have the belief that what they don t know can t hurt them. Maybe
government does have the right to obtain what they want for their discretion, and we should trust that
they will not abuse that power. It is true that the people of America do not know the plans of various
government agencies, and perhaps it is best that we accept that and let them do their work. Besides,
just imagine all of the terrorist attacks and other incidents that will be prevented by these national
security measures. While all these points are logical, they re missing the point. Ignorance is not bliss,
and a privacy invasion such as one that is occurring now cannot continue. These national security
measures are slowly eating away our basic freedoms and liberties. We cannot just let this pass by and
become blasé on the matter; it needs to be understood that there is a limit to what is acceptable and
that is, what is necessary? The government does not need to know what websites people are visiting,
and it does not need the phone records of millions of Americans. These current government
procedures violate a citizen s right to

Sample Letter For Wayne County Economic Development...
Throughout my time interning for Wayne County Economic Development Corporation I spent many
of my opening hours in a office doing research, analyzing data, writing memos, creating the entire
system of how the corporation organizes and shares information, along with sitting in on meetings
ranging from development of parcels to legal matters. From the beginning my supervisor continuously
stated that this is a learning process and that he had hired all three interns to instill and familiarize us
to what world is like outside of school classrooms and the library. After a few weeks on getting to
individually know each intern I was selected for a special work load that only I would be sanctioned to

Comparing Three Creation Stories
One of biggest mysteries that people have been trying to answer for centuries is, How was the earth
created? Every culture and religion has a different story that attempts to describe how we came to be.
When we pick different creation stories from cultures and religions it s interesting to see what
similarities and differences arise. This paper will analyze some of the similar and different aspects of
three different creation stories. The first creation story is described in the Bible in Genesis 1 2:3, the
second in Genesis 2:4 24, and the third is the creation story of the Kono people of Guinea called
Death, and Life and Death.
It s fascinating that each creation story hints at a common purpose for humans. In Genesis 1, humans

In Genesis 1, the creating power, God, creates plants on day three of the six days of creation. Living
creatures (excluding humans) were created on the fifth and sixth days (ESV Gen 1:11 25). In the
Genesis 2 creation account, the Lord God plants the Garden of Eden after he creates the man. He then
creates animals in the same way he created the man and the man names all the animals (ESV Gen 2:7
20). In Death, and Life and Death, the god Alatangana consolidates the earth from mud, creates plants
to cover the earth, and then creates animals to live on it ( Death, and Life and Death ).
The creating power in Genesis 1 is referred to as God (ESV Gen 1:1 31; 2:1 3). What s interesting is
that in Genesis 2, each time the creating power is referenced; he is referred to as the Lord God (ESV
Gen. 2:4 25). Christians believe that God and the Lord God are the same being, but it s interesting that
they aren t described with the same name. Still, both Genesis accounts creating powers differ from the
Kono people s creation story Death, and Life and Death where the creator of all living things is named
Alatangana and the creator of light and death is named Sa ( Death, and Life and

Examples Of Leadership In Animal Farm By George Orwell
An Inept Leader: Calamity for a Nation and its People The state of a nation primarily reflects the
strength and aptness of its leader; a weak leader submits their nation into an abysmal state, whereas a
great one promotes progress. In Orwell s novella, Animal Farm, the animals of inferior intelligence
comply with their vehement leader, Napoleon, who initially demonstrates strong qualities as a leader.
However, Napoleon s leadership succumbs to corruption as he gradually implements unprincipled
authoritarian rules that primarily benefit the pigs at the expense of the working class. Similarly, past
leaders have displayed abuse of power for personal gain. Through his accurate incorporation of Czar
Nicholas II s traits into Napoleon s disposition, Orwell articulates how negligent leadership
jeopardizes a nation and its citizens, such as Turkmenistan under Saparmurad Niyazov s reign. Czar
Nicholas II crippled Russia by misusing his power in authority: he disregarded the harsh working
conditions and poor health of his citizens and sought control through violent means. Under his reign,
the Czar s citizens faced severe conditions, and although widespread malnourishment was ... Show

In Animal Farm, the less bright animals grave conditions reflect the disastrous effects of incompetent
leadership that expounded from a competent campaign. Likewise, both Czar Nicholas II and
Saparmurad Niyazov exemplified these unscrupulous characteristics projected through the inevitable
chaos and internal turmoil of their nations. Moreover, Orwell sheds light on the evident correlation
between defective leaders and the plight of their country by assimilating the tendencies of the Czar
and Niyazov into Napoleon s character. Through Orwell s insight, people can recognize and prevent
corruption from plaguing their country by being cognizant of the red flags of inept

Credit History Essay
Credit history is a record of a borrower s responsible repayment of debts. When an American customer
fills
out an application for credit from a bank, credit card company, or a store, there information is
forwarded to a credit bureau. These organizations match the name, address, and other identifying
information on the credit applicant with
information found in the files of the credit bureaus. The gathered records are then used by lenders to
determine an individual s credit worthiness that is determining an individual s ability and track record
of repaying a debt. Lenders will extend credit to individuals who have paid consumer debt obligations
regularly and on time, while those
who missed payments are more likely to be declined.
How are credit scores, also known as FICO scores, calculated?
Payment history makes up 35% of the credit score/FICO score. A record of negative information can
lower a
consumer s credit rating or score negative events such as charge offs, collections, late payments,
repossessions, foreclosures, settlements, bankruptcies and judgments can affect the FICO score
greatly. Newer offenses have a greater affect than older offenses, and many is worse than a few. Debt
and debt history makes up 30% of the FICO score.
Three types of debt, revolving debt, installment debt, and open debt all contribute to an individual s
credit score. Revolving debt is credit card debt, and while home equity lines of credit have revolving
terms, the bulk of debt

Underage Drinking On Fridays
Young people have continued to consume alcohol especially on weekends. Consequently, young
people have continued to experience the aftermath of drinking too much alcohol at the tender age. As
a result, most of the countries categorize underage drinking as the leafing problem in public health.
Teenagers always find a way to avoid being noticed by their parents. Even though it is their choice,
most initially know what they are doing is wrong, but do it anyways. The social choice theory is vital
when examining why young people make the decision to drink beer on Fridays when their parents are
away. Choice theory is the belief that we are internally, not externally motivated (Coulson, 2013 p.119

Mein Kampf And The Standover Man Essay
Through structure, the author then highlights how people can harness the power of words for
destructive and negative purposes, and the importance of overcoming them. This is evident in Parts 3
and 4 of the novel in the following chapters, Mein Kampf and The Standover Man. Liesels
understanding of words begins to develop as she is learning to read and write and she begins to
witness how words can be used negatively. She understands how powerful Hitler s words are, with
Hitler using them as weapons. In addition, that Hitler s words are responsible for the destruction of her

It reveals the idea that kind words can overpower cruel words and is an important realization for
Liesel as her understanding of the power of words develops. By the characters overpowering the harsh
and controlling words of Hitler, the characters are no longer weak and disempowered and by defying
Hitler s lies become resilient and strong against the Nazi regime. The author also illustrates the power
of language by showing how words can bring comfort and strength. This message is shown through
the structure of the novel in chapters, The Whistler , and, The Dream Carrier . In these sections of the
novel, Liesel understands how she can use words to comfort others. Liesel is able to harness the power
of words, and is able to become resilient and strong, doing so is able to support others and those
feelings weakened by the control of the Nazi regime. This is evident after Rosa, her foster mother has
been fired from working for Ilsa, wife of a Nazi who nurtures Liesel s literary interests. Liesel
understands that words can hurt, however in an act of defiance, Liesel steals the book The Whistler .
This book becomes a symbol of her strength. Liesel strength is made evident whilst in a bomb shelter
where she reads to the other citizens of her community to bring comfort to them. She didn t dare to

Maximum Impact
If you are a like a lot of people who are working on getting on a path to losing weight and getting the
body you want, you may be planning a lot of time at the gym to undo the damage you have done to
your body.
But do you know how to get the maximum impact in your workout?
Fat Burner, Fat Burners, weight loss tablets, best weight loss pills, diet and weight loss, fasting weight
loss
The maximum impact to weight loss and fat burning is not just in hitting the gym 5 7 days a week, it is
in knowing the right things to do and where to get help to boost your results!
One of the ways you can increase your results is to add fat burners into your weight loss program. Let
s take a closer look at how to do this for the best outcome.
When most people decide to lose weight they think of either
working out obsessively or taking fat burners like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This means taking the fat burners and still putting yourself on a workout schedule.
When you double up a workout with fat burners you get a number of benefits:
Double Impact It makes perfect sense that if you are using two different weight loss and fat burner
techniques that you will see more results. This is the case when it comes to taking fat burners while
working out. You get the positive bodily benefits of building muscle (which burns fat) and doing
cardio (which burns fat) while taking the fat burners (which really burn fat)!
Energy One of the side effects of fat burners like Phen375 is that they can give you a lot of energy
sometimes a surge of it. A lot of people think this can be a negative thing, but that is only because they
are not using that energy to their benefit. When that boost of energy comes, it s time to use it to
encourage yourself to go to the gym and get down to work. This will lessen the chance that you will
get tired out and give up on your workout

The Effect on Clergy and the Catholic Church during the...
Little was known about the clergy during the Black Death. For a long time people believed that the
Catholic Church had fled from its duty to serve the people, but that could not be further from the truth.
In recent discovery it was found that greater than 50 percent of clergy were killed during the Black
Death. This was not because the clergy were running away; rather, the clergy stayed and helped the
people in villages, knowing the likelihood they would survive would be slim throughout this
epidemic. It is my goal in this paper to describe what was occurring during the Black Death and how
the Catholic Church and its clergy reacted to the epidemic. The Black Death could most likely be

The victims of the plagues were isolated and their contacts traced and incarcerated. There were
restrictions on movement, bills of health, quarantine regulations for travelers and shipping. Bedding
and houses were fumigated. People started to abandon cities and run off to the country side where it
was believed to be a safer place to live, away from all other people. It is known that some family
members would leave their own loved ones who had contracted the plague and venture to clean areas.
Doctors would refuse treatment on the sick in hopes that they could somehow be spared for the
epidemic. Yet there was one group of people who as a whole looked out for those who were sick: the
clergy of the Catholic Church. Priests, nuns, and monks were typically the only glimmer of hope for
the sick. With everyone else shunning the sick or abandoning them, those with the plague were happy
to receive whatever help they could get. The clergy s function was to administer the sacraments, and if
those services were needed by the afflicted faithful as they invariably were, clergy violated charity by
fleeing. If it was the duty of a clergy member to visit the sick, it was a scandal and a sin if that person
fled the plague. But if a clergy members duty did not necessarily deal with the plague, they were
allowed to flee. If a clergy

Crime And Punishment Foil
Fyodor Dostoyevsky s novel Crime and Punishment features a wide variety of characters and
personalities within its pages. Throughout the novel, many different characters are developed through
their introductions and their comparisons to other characters. There are many examples of this foiling
technique, but some of the most prominent comparisons are made between the main character Rodion
Romanovitch Raskolnikov and characters such as Arkady Ivanovitch Svidrigaïlov and Dmitri
Prokofitch Razumihin. These comparisons allow for deeper understanding of Raskolnikov as the
audience sees the different potentials his character has.

This character is foiled against Raskolnikov to highlight Raskolnikov s good qualities and highlight
Svidrigaïlov s bad qualities. Using foiling, Dostoyevsky sets Svidrigaïlov up as a character to mirror
Raskolnikov s journey and give the readers a glimpse of what may have happened down a more
negative road, unlike the foil of Razumihin. Raskolnikov s murdering the pawnbroker is paralleled
with Svidrigaïlov s implied poisoning of his now deceased wife, Marfa Petrovna. Yet Svidrigaïlov s
crime differs in that his motives are to be with Dounia, whereas Raskolnikov s were based purely in
hubris. They are again paralleled when Sonia serves as Raskolnikov s Christ figure through whom he
could acquire redemption, and Dounia plays the same role for Svidrigaïlov. Raskolnikov s interactions
with Sonia in her room are mirrored when Svidrigaïlov attempts to pursue Sonia one last time in a
neighboring room. Despite this alignment, their interactions differ because Svidrigaïlov locks Dounia
into the room with him and rather than attempting redemption, he reveals the crimes of Raskolnikov.
It is not a confession of his own sins but Raskolnikov s. As a result, Dounia cannot act as his Christ
figure like Sonia does for Raskolnikov, and his method is demanding rather than receiving. Dounia
rejects Svidrigaïlov and a result the two men experience different

The Sport Of Soccer And Football
Today, there are many popular sport which involved players getting injured during the game. The most
talked about sport of all time are soccer and football. They are the number one sport in the world.
They are both loved by people around the world and everybody enjoy every minute of watching the
player play the sports. The problem is that the player always seem to get injured from this sport but
the cause of their injured are different from each other. Between soccer and football, the most common
injuries are knee and ankle injured. Soccer players often get injured more often than football players,
whenever they are on the field. In between this two sport, it seems like someone always get injured
whenever the event is held.
First, the cause of the injured between soccer and football different from each other. Both the soccer
and football player would twist their ankle and hurt their knee during the game. For soccer players, the
cause of their injured are running and kicking the ball all over the field and sometimes twist their
ankle while running. Sometimes for soccer players while they have the ball the other team would sly
kick the ball and miss; but when that person missed, the sly kick would hit the other player knee or
ankle and it would result in the other person getting injured. However for football players, the only
way to get injured is they would have to be tackle down by other players; if they want to get injured.
Their chance of getting injured are very low

Altruism In Night By Elie Wiesel
In Night, altruism is what separates man from beast. Humans as a species differ from the majority of
the animal kingdom in their willingness to sacrifice their own well being for the benefit of others. To
be human is to be compassionate and caring for your fellow man. In Night, Elie Wiesel shows that
humanity is [usurpable]. Subjected to the inhuman conditions of the Nazi concentration camps, his
sense of altruism and compassion essentially disappear, leaving only animalistic self interest and the
instinct to survive.
Not yet exposed to the horrors of the concentration camp, Elie enters Birkenau with his innate senses
of compassion and altruism intact. Soon after his arrival, Elie witnesses the burning of children,
women, and men alike. In response to this horrific sight, Elie becomes doubtful of the reality of this
situation and questions, How was it possible... that the world kept silent? (32). As seen in the creation
of Night and this question, for Elie, silence is unthinkable. At this point, Elie still holds faith in the
power that people hold. However, the only hope to save these people from their fates is if the silence
breaks. Along with this thinking, his tone of disbelief contributes to Elie s demonstration of one of
man s most primitive instinct: compassion. This compassion is still strong in Elie for if this was false,
why would he have questioned this so passionately? However, after submitting to oppression from the
concentration camps officials, Elie s

The Economic And Social Development Plan
According to FAO Corporate (no date), since the First National Economic and Social Development
Plan began in 1961, emphasis has been on economic development. Natural resources and human
capital expanded the production base, employment opportunities and national income. These
guidelines were appropriate for and consistent with the country s situation in the early period of
national development because of abundant natural resources and an excess labour supply, especially in
the agricultural sector. Thailand s production and exports, therefore, were attributed largely to these
comparative advantages. Some problems are due to planning focusing on income generation,
regardless of the cost to natural resources, the environment and society. Human resources were seen as
production inputs serving the labour market; less attention was given to human potential, intellectual
capability and local ways of life. Emphasis was on foreign technology transfer, rather than research
and development (R D) to upgrade existing wisdom (ibid).
To generate national development guideline ideas and recommendations for the Eighth Plan, an
unusual planning opportunity was organised in 1998, a think tank seminar, Generating ideas for the
Eighth Plan at Marukhataiyawan Palace in Petchaburi. It joined academics, philosophers, mass media
and NGOs who reflected on Thailand s future: envisioning a self sufficient, free, just, merciful,
compassionate society respecting human rights; in which people are

Being Bullied And Having No Recollection Essay
The Third Grade: Being bullied and having no recollection Introduction There comes a point in life
when most young students are bullied. Some students experience worse bullying than others and
suffer more greatly from it. According to US studies, One out of every four students (22%) report
being bullied during the school year. (National Center for Educational Statistics, 2015) 64 percent of
children who were bullied did not report it; only 36 percent reported the bullying. (Pacer s, 2016)
Most children do not report it, leading to their self esteem dropping to an all time low. Whether the
child turns to God or has a friend as their saving grace, it is important that they get through those
troubles. My Experience The time in my life when I was bullied was a very rough patch and
unfortunately a time that I have no memory of. My brain has seemed to block out these events from
my mind as I have no recollection of the third grade. I was bullied at a very young age due to my
shyness. The second reason I was bullied was due to the fact I was one of the youngest students in the
class and also extremely tiny for my age. I fit in better playing with the boys because they were more
friendly and just as smart as me, and I was much more girly than the other 8 girls in my class. By the
time I was in first grade my only two friends had moved to other schools. Because of this I was left
very secluded. One of the first examples the bullying that happened was because of my size many of

The following list presents the 14 countries analyzed by the researchers upon the support for
terrorism: Bangladesh; Ghana; Indonesia; Ivory Coast; Jordan; Lebanon; Mali; Nigeria; Pakistan;
Senegal; Tanzania; Turkey; Uganda and Uzbekistan. The authors highlight the fact that the survey
reflects a reality change following the 9/11 but does not reflect the public opinion about US led
military actions in Iraq for the reason that the Pew Institute conducted and completed the country

several kinds of data about the respondent but; since the phrasing of the question relates to all varieties
of attacks against civilian targets instead of primarily emphasis suicide terrorism; it appears that the
survey itself presents a limitation in assessing the support for terrorism. The research note presents
another limitation when the authors refer to the Depravation theory without defining it. They use the
theory to explain the relationship between economic variables and to describe the correlation with the

A Retrieved Reformation Short Story
Change
O. Henry s short story, A Retrieved Reformation, shows a man s journey through rehabilitation. In the
story, Jimmy Valentine is in jail for robbery. Then is allowed to leave in hope he has finally learned
from his past mistakes and will stop robbing people to get what he desires. When Jimmy leaves, he
robs many more banks but does not get caught. Jimmy then goes to a small town so the cops won t be
able to find him, and the town has a train station for him to make a quick getaway. When Jimmy first
arrives to the town, he sees a lovely woman named Annabel Adams and everything changes. He
knows she won t like him if he keeps acting like his old self so, he decides he will finally change for
the better. He changes his name to Ralph Spencer and starts acting totally different. This short story
demonstrates change and how you affect people every day whether you realize it or not. At the
beginning of the coming of age story, when Jimmy gets let out of jail, we see how Jimmy has not
changed and he had went back to his old ways. To show this, the author explains multiple robberies
that happened within weeks of each other. Then, Ben Price, the detective trying to find who has been
robbing the banks, realized it was Jimmy Valentine who was back to his old ways. To show this, the
author wrote, Ben Price knew Jimmy s habits. He had learned them while working on the Springfield
case. Long jumps, quick get aways, no confederates, and a taste for good society these ways had

The Effects Of Water Quality On The Reedy Fork Creek And...
Descriptive Statistics
The spatiotemporal pattern of water quality in the Reedy Fork and Buffalo Creek watersheds exhibits
a trend of river deterioration, mainly due to Fecal Coliform. Our study suggests that most of the
pollution sources were related to human activities. Looking at table 2a to 5b, it is clear that, F.Col,
coliform is the dominant parameter with the highest means in all the sites, both at the Reedy Fork and
Buffalo Creek watersheds. However, there are higher mean values of this nutrient in the Buffalo Creek
watershed than the Reedy Fork creek watershed. This is clearly visible by looking at the variation in
mean variable concentrations for the individual sites through the years under study from the graphs.
In comparison to the States Standards in table 10, Fecal Coliform for sites 7, 8, 9, 12, 17, and 18, all in
the urbanize Buffalo Creek watershed have mean values of 1613.95, 1189.52, 2447.38, 3167.71,
1410.86, 1178.30 CFU/100ml respectively which are within the states watch zone for the 1999 to

American English and British English The usage of the many forms of English dialects have often led
to miscommunication. The knowledge gained beforehand can help to limit that, and to provide those
visiting with an idea of what the local culture is like. There are specific words and phrases that may
prove useful, words and phrases to avoid, and many key differences between American English and
British English. Many useful words and phrases in the English language can mean many different
things in different dialects. Therefore it is imperative that we as guests and visitors have prior
knowledge that would limit miscommunication. One main phrase or reference is the UK itself. The

Carl Phillip Emanuel Bach the complete works
Carl Phillip Emanuel Bach the complete works
This is the volume I of the Series II. It includes sixteen sonatas. Only one of them is unaccmpaniment
flute sonata, other fifteen pieces are wind and string instruments and basso continuo. Excepts the
manuscripts and the scores, this volume also contains three useful sections which are an introduction,
Abbreviations, and the critical report. The critical report is located on the page one hundred and
twenty seven to page one hundred and forty six.
First of all, the author described the detailed information about the composed years and historic
background. Even some of the pieces is hard to track the composed year, but the author still tried to
find out the evidences to figure out the years. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The other section of the commentary report is the commentary of the scores which are collected in this
book. The commentary is arranged in a really standard form, and the comments on performance are
quite helpful to the performers. For instance, the commentary of Sonanta in B flat Major for Flute and
Basso Continu, Wq,125 is located from the page one hundred and thirty six to page one hundred and
thirty seven. In the commentary, it mainly shows the measure numbers, part of the voice, and remarks.
For Measure number, it used the number to mark each specific measure. In the part of the voice, fl
means the voice of the flute, and b.c. means the voice of the basso continuo. In the section of remarks,
it contains very detailed comments on the performance. Even it points out the version that it follows.
As I have tried out all the comments on this piece, I found that the changes make music sound more
interesting and artistic. For instance, the Sonata in B flat major for flute and Basso continuous second
movement Allegro. In the third measure, it suggests the note 2 changed from F to A. After this
changing, the melody of flute sounds more interesting. In the measure six, it suggests moving the slur
from notes 3 4 for notes 2 4. That lets the melody skip a minor third and sounds more stable in the
beginning section than the original one. In the measure twenty seven,

How To Invade Iraq
Support To invade Iraq Hindsight makes everyone geniuses. With hindsight, more people would have
bought shares in Microsoft when it first came out. Ditto for Amazon, Facebook, something called
Berkshire Hathaway, and shares in, what was then, a small retailer based in Arkansas Walmart. We do
not have hindsight. We can not guarantee success in everything we do. If the Iraq War only lasted 100
days, we would not have argued about whether there were weapons of mass destruction. It did not, on
both counts. It lasted 3,195 days from March 20, 2003 till December 18, 2011.
If we look back on the events surrounding the war, we can understand how it happened. Surprisingly,
however, when we understood how, it was easier to understand and support the why. In March 2003,
the United States initiated a preemptive war on Iraq. Iraq had nuclear capability termed weapons of
mass destruction . Iraq had previously used chemical weapons on Iran and on its own people. Iraq
supported terrorists including the architect of the 911 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essential Care Needs in Nursing and Midwifery
Essential care needs present specific requirements for an individual s survival. The Nursing and
Midwifery Council (2010), suggest nurses should be able to consider patient s essential care needs and
aid them with these needs when patients are not able to help themselves. Allowing nurses to make the
patient feel comfortable, during periods when they may be undergoing distress or discomfort. Nurses
have to deliver essential care such as making sure patients are eating sufficient amounts of food,
keeping hydrated and assisting with hygiene needs. Arnett (2013) emphasises care needs are unique to
each individual and vital for preserving patients health and well being. This links into Roper Logan
Tierney (1999) model of activities of daily living identifying 16 activities essential to maintaining
human life, including: eating and mobilising. Fulfilment and maintenance of these 16 activities
indicate an individual is healthy and gives a focus for nurses to deliver targeted patient centred care.
This is emphasised in Essence of Care (Department of Health, 2010) which reaffirms meeting
essential needs of patients is the main focus point of nursing in contemporary practice. The Essence of
Care is made up of 12 categories which health care professionals focus on in order to provide
thorough patient centred care. These categories include: bladder, bowel, continence care and personal
hygiene. Kitson et al (2013) identified the nurse s role as being one of promoting good patient

Nora A Hero
A hero is defined as a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or
noble qualities. A Doll s House , authored by Henrik Ibsen, contains a protagonist that fits this
definition. The protagonist, Nora Helmer, represents courage as the character rightfully decides to
relieve herself from the traditional social commitments and obligations, thus becoming an independent
individual. In addition, Nora displays selflessness through removing herself from the family as it is
realized the young woman is an inadequate mother. Moreover, Ibsen sets Nora in a world of
predetermined social constraints that lead the young woman to become deprived of freedom and
genuine happiness. Subjugation and oppression act as significant ... Show more content on

As Nora comes to realize that her marriage to Torvald has been loveless and the young woman has
only been fulfilling the traditional role of a dull housewife, Nora becomes overwhelmed as the woman
accepts the lack of knowledge in being a genuine wife and mother, The way I am now, I m no wife for
you (1774). Moreover, Nora decides to leave her children with Torvald as the woman laments not
knowing how to take care of the three children, I won t look in on the children. I know they re in
better hands than mine (1774). While the act of abandoning one s own family may come across as
selfish, this is quite the opposite in Nora Helmer s instance. Norma accepts she is an inadequate
mother and would be unable to care for the children without any aid from others, The way I am now, I
m no use to them (1774). This inadequacy is further brought to light by Torvald as he exclaims that
Nora is not to be trusted with the job of bringing up the couple s children. Additionally, Nora proves
the selflessness of her character as the woman explains she must seek an education before trying to
educate her own children, I m not up to the job. There s another job I have to do first. I have to try to
educate myself (1772). In order to become the adequate mother that her children need to be
appropriately raised, Nora must seek enlightenment without the influence of Torvald, You can t

Summary Of On Going Home By Joan Didion
For the first time in 130 years, more young adults are living with parents until their mid thirties. Part
of this could be an emotional attachment keeping them from leaving home because after they leave,
everything will change. However, many are losing their real sense of home and are just using it as a
place where they can avoid paying bills and many other responsibilities. Many young adults now do
not understand the extensive sacrifice it is to leave their one and only home. In On Going Home, Joan
Didion expounds on her struggle to connect with her current house, in a nostalgic and resigned tone,
and vivid imagery, symbolism, and comparison Didion expresses the regret she feels every time she
remembers she left her home . The essay it s based on the time Didion visited her parents home to
celebrate her daughter s 1 year old birthday. Throughout the visit Didion couldn t help but feel
resentment to leave her home . Didion stated that she came to dread my husband s evening call
because she didn t want to go back to Los Angeles or even be reminded of it (2). Didion wishes she
could stay in her home where she is completely happy. We find her desperately looking around the
house for her past around every corner, inside every cupboard she aimlessly goes from room to room
looking for something she once lost and will never get back (2). Didion feels the need to reconnect
with her family and, although not stated, Didion longs to go back in time and prevent

software is suitable for the new trend. But the hardware of SF Express still needs to be improved. No
matter how updated version software is, it still needs hardware support it. So updating the hardware is
also required for using the new warehouse management system. The new warehouse management
system is not going to replace all the human works. Therefore, training for the staffs to manage the
warehouse is very important for SF Express. If the staffs can be more familiar the new system, the
most efficiency will be gained. The skills of the staffs need to improve at the beginning. Also, SF
Express needs to set up a new department for the warehouse management. Between the department
conferences need to be held for improving the performance. One of the important principles for this
kind of company is protecting the stocks that the customer has been given to you. SF Express needs to
have some ways to protect the stocks. The warehouse needs more skillful workers to operate it. The
warehouse will become more efficient when different aspects have been improved. The new system
will help to build up the warehouse network for SF Express which is the global trend. SF Express
needs to be patient for updating the warehouse management system since at the beginning there will
be many difficulties need to overcome. But for long term updating the warehouse management system

The most obviously demonstrated and expressed message of Makes small work of BIG spills
contradicts the implicit message that sure, it makes small work of big spills, but paper waste adds
pollution to our population versus using cloth towels. The hidden message of complication within our
society falls short of the intended message; however, the pollution factor has to be taken into
consideration before buying such a fast and easy acting product. Sure, for some, that message would
never be brought to light making the decision to buy Bounty, a no brainer. But for some, that might be
the deciding factor in whether or not they purchase it. Bounty paper towels have been commonly
known to pick up messes. However, when the hyperboles and enlarged items are shown in this way, it
makes it seem like the brand is now bigger and better than ever. Designed with children and parents in

a way that sets the audience up for an ultimatum. You choices are to either buy the paper towels or

Life After High School
Life after high school can be one of the most difficult decisions in your life. And it is not just one
decision, the college you choose can alter many aspects of your life. When you attempt to choose a
school to go to you have to take into consideration many things. You have to know the major you want
to go for, the minors, location, tuition cost, et cetera. I have so many options for the next step in my
life. For this paper, however, I have narrowed it down to two options: Miami University and the
University of Cincinnati. It is a close race between the two, but based on my recent visit to Miami
going there for college would be the better option for my future. Money is an issue for mostly all
college students, everyone is always worried about the debt they will obtain by going through
schooling and how they are going to pay it off. Unless someone can get a full ride scholarship, you are
going to have to owe money to the university you go to. My solution is that I will be making enough
money after college to pay it off pretty quickly so I do not have to owe too much money throughout
my life. Miami tuition is around $15,000 and room and board is around $13,000 so the total is
somewhere close to $28,000 ( 2017 Cohort ). Cincinnati tuition is $11,000 and room and board can be
from $11,000 to $13,000, so between $22,000 and $24,000 would be the total ( UC Facts ). I intend to
get scholarships through various companies or associations to bring the total price per year down.

Effects Of The Vatican And Nazi Germany
Introduction: Have anyone watched a movie Amen ? Amen is based on real story, German, Romanian
French drama directed by Costa Gavras. The film examines the links between the Vatican and Nazi
Germany. The movie contains a scene of killing Jews and others in extermination camp by Hydrogen
cyanide mixture called Zyklon B. But does anyone notice that it is an actually car gas, technically
liquid form, but converted to gas at room temperature 25 degree? Estimates released 2014, WHO
reports that in 2012 around 7 million people died one in eight of total global deaths as a result of air
pollution exposure. (http://www.who.int/mediacentre/news/releases/2014/air pollution/en/)
The definition of air pollution is the air contains gases, dust, fumes or odor in harmful amounts. That
is, amounts which could be harmful to the health or comfort of humans and animals or which could
cause damage to plants and materials. Primary air pollutant includes carbon monoxide from car
exhausts and sulfur dioxide from the combustion of coal. Further pollution can arise if pollutants in
the atmosphere undergo chemical reactions. (http://www.epa.vic.gov.au/air/aq4kids/pollution.asp)
Some forms of air pollution create global problems, such as upper atmosphere ozone depletion and
global warming. These problems are very complex, and require international cooperative efforts to
find solutions. What is more complex is that any pollutants such as ozone and tiny particles of toxins

How Did The Industrial Revolution Improve American Society
Kamryn Melton
History
Exam Question 2
Since the beginning of time, the human society has been through many changes. One of the greatest
changes was the Industrial Revolution of Great Brittan. Although there were many discontent, the
positive outcomes outweighed the negative effects. The revolution improved Great Britain primarily
through innovation and invention of new technologies, improving communication and transportation,
and the lives of Britain people in the industrial society.
During the period of the Industrial Revolution, Great Britain saw great and fast change. Many new
inventions and innovations vigorously improved the economic sate of Britain and the lives of the
people. The inventions of the flying shuttle, spinning jenny, the water frame, and the spinning mule
sparked what is known as the textile industry. These inventions increased the speed and quality of
spinning and weaving. This also made it more efficient and required less human labor. As a result of
not needing much human labor people resorted to cities in search for jobs, thus leading to factories.
The factories became center or the power house of the industrial revolution. New machinery was
introduced allowing cheaper labor and mass production at a lower cost. This new way of creating
manufactured goods increased the economy of Britain exponentially. People were very pleased by the
increase of Britain s economy. Britain was also big on coal. Coal made it simpler and cheaper to melt

Endangered Animals Are Endangered Species
Every year Florida s wildlife animal numbers decrease at an alarming rate. Endangered animals exist
all over the world, but Florida s official state animal is one of the most endangered animals in the
entire world. The main reason some animals become declared as endangered is humans. Humans have
caused a huge toll on the wildlife s lifespan and have become a burden in their natural way of living. It
is how the human population behaves that decides whether these animals can live a normal life or
pushes them into endangerment or even extinction if the case is severe. Many of Florida s wildlife
animals are endangered due to the consequences of pollution, the behavior of poaching, and the loss of
habitat. Pollution is one of the top reasons why many of Florida s animals are endangered or are
classified as threatened in result of becoming endangered. The most common form of pollution that
affects the aquatic life in Florida is called water pollution. Water pollution is pollution in water occurs
when a chemical, physical or biological element causes a body of water to become toxic, unusable or
inhospitable to living organisms (Gemma). In other words, when foreign substances enter the water,
the aquatic life is not familiar with these substances; it disrupts the normal lifestyle of these animals.
When the case of water pollution is severe, it goes to the extremity of disturbing the animals so much
that many of them begin to die off because they cannot adapt to these new

Meredith Monk Minimalism
David Carrillo TA: Joshua Bauder
Meredith Monk, Early Morning Melody
Early Morning Melody by Meredith Monk is a song with many minimalistic aspects. Repetition and
isolation of the human voice are two examples of it. (26 words)
The short song Early Morning Melody by Meredith Monk has a beautiful melody that repeats four
times with the third time having one different note. The repetition of this melody ironically does not
feel redundant, as the listener is likely to have mental pictures on how they interpret the song. For
example, thinking of how someone would really sing this for an early morning activity, like taking a
shower or cooking. Another image that may come to the listener s mind could be a much sadder scene:
perhaps a song for a funeral, or how the use of repetition could simbolize a lack of direction. (105

While some believe the correct use of minimalism has some of the most profound and powerful ways
of communicating a message or a mental image, others find it too abstract, simplistic or even boring.
The short piece Early Morning Melody by the American composer, Meredith Monk, utilizes
minimalistic tools to evoke many emotions and reactions from the listeners. The use of a solo voice
and repetition of a simple, yet touching melody are two examples of how the minimalism is displayed.
The melody is repeated a total of four times and only the third has a small difference, so minuscule
that it is literally just one note that is different. It should also be noted that the unique note could even
be in the same harmonic progression of the passage. This is clearly done on purpose and, as explained
earlier, leads to as many interpretations as the amount of people listening to

Cryptosporidiosis
Intestinal cryptosporidiosis is one of the most significant diarrheal diseases affecting people around
the world. The condition is caused by the oocyst forming protozoan parasite from the genus
Cryptosporidium that has the propensity to survive in and transmit through source waters, making it a
paramount public health threat.
Although the intestine is a primary target in all cases intestinal cryptosporidiosis, there can be
significant differences in the clinical presentation (depending on the host and parasite population). The
major groups at risk include immunocompetent individuals in developed countries, children in

It is also known that the CD4 T lymphocytes are indispensable for the resolution of acute and chronic
cryptosporidiosis.
Clinical presentation
Symptoms of cryptosporidiosis develop after a period of time called prepatent period (lasting on
average one week) during which the parasites invade the epithelial cells of the intestine and
proliferate. As a result of this invasion, immunocompetent adults usually present with watery diarrhea
that may in certain cases be profuse, prolonged and mucoid.
Accompanying symptoms are analogous to those in other diarrheal illnesses, including (but not
limited to) nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps and low grade fever. Sometimes nonspecific
symptoms occur as well, for example weakness, muscle aches, headache, malaise and anorexia.
Although supportive therapy leads to a resolution of the disease, in as many as 40% of cases there is a
potential of chronic symptoms akin to irritable bowel syndrome. Relapses may follow a period
without a diarrhea that can last between several days and several weeks. Other chronic sequelae may
include fatigue, arthralgia and eye

The Rise Of European Imperialism
The sun never sets on the British Empire, is an ancient saying, referring to the immense territory
Britain has conquered throughout its years of Imperialism.. Often times, many countries that colonize
other nations usually have a purpose of doing so, such as the want for money, resources, humanitarian
aid, greed, and or power. However, Britain wasn t the only country responsible for Imperialization.
Other countries such as France, America, and Japan also played their parts in Imperialism. The driving
force of European Imperialism was power over a people in colonized nations. The reasons for these
include the beliefs that Caucasoid Europeans were the superior beings and the European continent
being the most superior civilization on the face of the planet.

In Pierre Paul Leroy Beaulieu, De la Colonisation Chez les Peuples Modernes, Pierre Paul Leroy
Beaulieu states that the Western Civilization has been the most progressive and successful civilization
compared to others from highest to lowest, such as China and Japan, India (pre British conquest), Java
and the indochinese peninsula , and finally, the rest of the world whom he refers to as barbaric
savages, leaving Africa. With the west s success in science, arts, and civilization, he found it unjust to
leave the rest of the world in barbaric conditions and living under ignorance. With this in mind, the
narrator would find it easier to trade and profit off of these people in their homeland once they have
succeeded in educating them and teaching them the importance of justice, division of labor, and the
uses of capital. He claims, It opens an area not only to the merchandise of the mother country but to its
capital and its savings, to its engineers, to its overseers, to its emigrants. The tone of the narrator s
statement comes off as greedy when his sole purpose is to educate a people to gain access to their

America s Inadvertent Empire By Robert Dujarric And...
The current overwhelming dominance of the unprecedented modern American empire in the realm of
world politics generally agreed upon by experts and scholars around the world. There is little to refute
the argument that there is any state that comes close to the strength of the Americans in a vast number
of areas, most notably economically and militarily. Present debate among experts in the field of
international relations revolves around whether the Americans can maintain their primacy for
upcoming generations. Robert Dujarric and William Odom, both experienced and respected scholars
of international relations, declare in their 2004 work, America s Inadvertent Empire, that America is in
a solid position to keep a tight hold on its place at the top. Vividly explaining America s path to
dominance while emphasizing the current state of domination, the authors effectively present the
abilities of the empire while also illustrating the potential threats that could bring it down.
No one was stopping the force of America s dominance that has characterized global affairs since
America s entrance into the world stage of great powers following its victories in the Spanish
American war of 1898 (Farrenkopf). Their incidental rise, partly due to country s many natural
advantages at its disposal, including large population and landmass, oceanic protection from Europe
and East Asia, natural resources and favorable climate, is largely credited by the authors to its liberal
institutions,

Essay Against Lowering The Drinking Age
Once a person turns eighteen, he or she receives many rights and privileges. One major right that all of
these teenagers are missing is the right to buy and consume alcohol. The question is posed is whether
lowering the minimum drinking age to eighteen would be a better or worse idea. Jeffery A. Miron, a
senior lecturer at Harvard University s economics department, and Elina Tetelbaum, a law student
from Yale University, write in their argumentative article in Forbes Magazine, The Dangers of the
Drinking Age , in which they believe that the minimum drinking age of twenty one is not working.
After conducting studies, they found that the minimum legal drinking age of twenty one has little or
no effect on traffic fatalities. Lowering the minimum drinking age to eighteen would likely have the
same effects as the minimum age of twenty one; it is reasonable to assume that underage teenagers
may feel less rebellious knowing that they can legally buy and consume alcohol at the age of eighteen.
Amethyst Initiative was a petition that called for a public debate about the effects of a minimum
drinking age of twenty one that was signed by over one hundred presidents of colleges and
universities. The response to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They further discuss that a policy that is forced by the government is guaranteed to fail, especially if it
is already avoided and not supported by a majority of the people. All of these results uphold that the
minimum legal drinking age of twenty one does not support the benefits some people have claimed it
has. Miron and Tetelbaum display their bias on this subject by stating that rather than producing
benefits, the minimum legal drinking age supports irresponsible side effects such as binge drinking
and disrespect for the

Evaluate The Relative Importance Of The Following As...
Evaluate the relative importance of the following as factors prompting Americans to rebel in 1776:
Parliamentary taxation Restriction of civil liberties British Military Measures The legacy of colonial
religion and political ideas The British colonies in America from the time they were established up
until around 1763 had a policy of Salutary Neglect. Salutary Neglect meant that the British would not
interfere with the colonies national or even international affairs. This benefitted the colonies, they got
to experience some forms of democracy, and they also were able to experience independence in a way
though they took it for granted. The British after the Seven Years War, which was fought on American
soil, for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The mistake of not making simple reforms, like allowing one representative in parliament per colony
would lead to revolts, and even groups coming together. Some revolts were peaceful while others,
which affected the tax collectors and stamp sellers, were violent resulting in the tarring and feathering
of the British officials. The Sons of Liberty, led by Samuel Adams, James Otis, and Patrick Henry,
were a very radical and overdramatic group, Patrick Henry would make the fateful statement of Give
me liberty or give me death. On October 7th, 1765 the Stamp act congress would meet there were
representatives from 9 of the 13 colonies. The representatives made a decision to boycott British
goods. By March of 1776, the Stamp Acts will have been appealed, but the government in England is
not happy. The taxation of the colonists was very important to what would eventually be the American
Revolution. The people of the colonies were finally united, though they have not called for an army to
be made or haven t talked about independence, they are starting to come together, and make their
differences blur. The restriction of civil liberties was also a major part of the original rebellions. One
act passed by England s government was the Declaratory Act. The Declaratory act said that the British
government could pass any laws needed in order to hold together Britain and

A Hero With A Thousand Faces By Joseph Campbell
The Explication of All Monomythical Figures Countless cultures and religions gather around
campfires and even hold ceremonies to hear a good hero story. But little do they know that these
traditional stories that they are oh so eager to listen to, are all alike someway, somehow. All heroes in
all cultures, dating from the earliest hero story written, miraculously follow a sequence of events
called a mononmyth/heroes Journey. The ineffable spectacle of the mononmyth is that despite the
thousands of miles between ancient civilizations it was subconsciously present in the psychology of
all the hero writers. Joseph Campbell, an established psychologist stated his identification of the
monomyth in his book, A Hero with a Thousand Faces. But, Campbell not only explained the
monomyth in great detail, but he also elaborated into the psychology of humans. He did this by
elucidating the exact steps in every hero s journey, and providing factual proof. The initial belief is
that no matter what the circumstance is, No matter past or present, man or woman, the heroes all have
the same initiation. Here Campbell states that, Whether hero ridiculous or sublime, Greek ... Show

But to fully grasp an audience, with twelve to fifteen steps is a lot to explain. Joseph Campbell gisted
the essential components of the mononmyth as a whole, The standard path of the mythological hero is
a magnification of the formula represented in the rights of a passage: separation initiation return (23).
In these simple steps Campbell identified the foundation of all monomyths. In separation, the hero
ventures astray from their later prosaic life into a region of supernatural wonder (23).Initiation,
overzealous figures/forces are encountered and a decisive victory is won (23).Lastly,the now master of
the narrative returns from the surreptitious journey with bestowed power

Graffiti Research Paper
Graffiti can be recognized as a form of art, or a crime, but I see it as mischievous beauty. Graffiti
consists of inscriptions, slogans and drawings scratched, scribbled or painted on a wall or other public
or private surface. In the book (Let The Great World Spin, 168), Fernando Yunque Marcano explains,
The ones you find in darkness. Way in the sides of the tunnels. The surprise of them. The deeper the
better. Lit up by the moving lights of the train and caught for just an instant so that he s never quite
sure if he s seen them or not. . Graffiti is used by people to express their deepest emotions, to give
others a glimpse of a part of their life, whether it s a triumph or a tragedy, or to have others ponder and
relate it to their own lives, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But for those who can, the murals and graffiti are considered art. In the show Switched at birth, there
are two scenarios where graffiti played a crucial part. Once was when Bay and Emmett got back
together after Emmett cheated on her. To show her how apologetic he was, he spray painted two whole
sides of a building of all their special memories almost like a timeline of their entire relationship.
Another was when Bay got into some trouble and she meets a detainee, Tess, who has a son, Sam, that
is battling a heart condition. Tess is a very aggressive and hostile single mother. When Bay comes to
find out why she behaves that way she spray paints a bench with the picture of Tess holding on to Sam
kissing him with the quote Everyday heroes written next to it. This picture is like a reminder to her of
what a great mother she is and no matter how hard the going gets she can t give up on her son. Often
times just looking at a masterpiece that you can relate your life to can give you a sense of
encouragement and hope that everything will be okay. The completion of a piece or a production
involves a great deal of imagination, planning, and effort. A picture speaks a thousand words. One can
interpret what they see, much differently than someone else but there actually is no right or

Apple vs Samsung Lawsuit.
ITGS HL
04/09/12
Case Study on the Apple Lawsuit against Samsung:
Intellectual property is defined as a work or invention that is the result of creativity, such as a
document or a design, to which one has rights and for which one may apply for a
patent/copyright/trademark.
Apple has succeeded in winning a lawsuit against Samsung. This patent war between the two leading
smart phone companies, ended up in Samsung having to pay apple more than $1bn in damages. This is
a result of Samsung having supposedly infringed some of the iPhone and iPad maker s patents. This
case wanted eight of Samsungs smart phones to be banned from the market. Some intellectual rights
violated include the bounce back feature of the Apple icons, as well as the ... Show more content on

Samsungs steady increase of market share, would takeover Apple in the long term, and so by filing
such a lawsuit, Apple would put a halt to this.
Mysteriously, the question of Is it possible for Apple and Samsung to work hand in hand? arises. To
begin with, these two companies have been enemies for a long period of time. Apple has always been
looking for ways to trap Samsung, and Samsung has been trying to create better technology then
Apple. These two companies, especially Apple seem to have extreme hatred going on between them. It
can be seen that they closely watch each other s steps looking for gaps and mistakes to complain
about. These two companies are some of the top Smartphone companies, contributing in fierce
competition, each hurrying to bring out the latest technology. In addition, Apple has filed another
lawsuit after the current one, showing a fierce battle. This could conclude that there is no way that
these two companies can be seen working together, as both of them want to be winners. But if these
two companies were to walk together hand in hand, one of them would have to give in to the other. As
Apple has won the patent lawsuit, Samsung could not only pay the damages caused, but they could
bring in a settlement of shared profits. This is where Samsung would still be allowed to sell its
technology, and Apple would own the intellectual property rights. Samsung could either pay a
monthly fee to Apple for using the patent, or Apple would

Lean Development Using A Money Machine Mindset From An It...
Lean Development using a Money Machine mindset from an IT business owner s perspective
Back in early 2008, I was the happy advocate of starting my own business, an information technology
(IT) consulting firm. It was a partnership that focused on small computer support, network
engineering, network design/implementation, computer training. Our marketed tag line was to provide
proactive enterprise level IT management and support to small businesses at a fraction of the cost. I
was very anxious and eager to learn about business, so I did vast research and internet searches on
traditional business plans, visited business incubators, spoke with the local Chamber of Commerce,
and had conversations with other small business owners.
At this time, a colleague, whom soon after became a friend and business mentor, introduced me to
alternative methods of creating a business start up and stepping away from the traditional business
plan. Unknowingly, my firm became part of an up and coming movement or methodology, known as
Lean Start up or Lean Development. According to the decades old formula, you write a business plan,
pitch it to investors, assemble a team, introduce a product, and start selling as hard as you can.
Unfortunately, by following this practice 75% of all start ups fail according to Harvard Business
School s Shikhar Ghosh [Blank 2013]. Using the traditional business plan approach, one uses a cookie
cutter template to create executive summaries, mission

  • 2. Ethical Behavior And The Business Community During the 2008 economic crisis there were a lot of questions about ethical behavior in the business community. The result of the behavior led to questions about how and when the practice of unethical behavior began and if it was related to practices students learned while in business school. Rocky University has commissioned a group to review the data provided from an anonymous survey to find if there is a culture and history of cheating in the school of business. Business ethics is the study of proper business policies and practices regarding potentially controversial issues (Investopedia, 2016). This definition is relatable to the ethics in business school studies. The use of non approved material or assistance can lead to questions about the collection and validity of the results in any student s submissions. How does the two relate, and is there a correlation between cheating in school and unethical behavior in the business community? By understanding more about what is being allowed in the university, it may provide us with insight into when this type of behavior starts and how can the university community can combat it at an introductory level. Rocky University provided a sample of 90 graduating business students with responses to three questions regarding academic improprieties. This report will evaluate the data and provide answers to the following questions, the total of students who are considered cheating, proportion of students that copied off the ... • 3. George Orwell Privacy Privacy at the Cost of National Security Big Brother is watching (Orwell). The truth is that anyone reading this paper from the internet has the right to know that someone thousands of miles away could very well be watching (Orwell). On top of this shocking fact, a victim would never even know they were being watched. George Orwell knew what he was talking about when he wrote of a society in which all things are monitored by the government and an individual s right to privacy is breached for the sake of peace and safety. Some might even say America is such a society today. The citizens in the USA believe that their government is doing all in its power to protect them, but when do national security measures such as spying and monitoring become ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In pursuit of a serious threat, it is understandable that some information such as that might be useful. Many people will argue that the current capabilities of different agencies are constitutional and are for the country s benefit; some have the belief that what they don t know can t hurt them. Maybe government does have the right to obtain what they want for their discretion, and we should trust that they will not abuse that power. It is true that the people of America do not know the plans of various government agencies, and perhaps it is best that we accept that and let them do their work. Besides, just imagine all of the terrorist attacks and other incidents that will be prevented by these national security measures. While all these points are logical, they re missing the point. Ignorance is not bliss, and a privacy invasion such as one that is occurring now cannot continue. These national security measures are slowly eating away our basic freedoms and liberties. We cannot just let this pass by and become blasé on the matter; it needs to be understood that there is a limit to what is acceptable and that is, what is necessary? The government does not need to know what websites people are visiting, and it does not need the phone records of millions of Americans. These current government procedures violate a citizen s right to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Throughout my time interning for Wayne County Economic Development Corporation I spent many of my opening hours in a office doing research, analyzing data, writing memos, creating the entire system of how the corporation organizes and shares information, along with sitting in on meetings ranging from development of parcels to legal matters. From the beginning my supervisor continuously stated that this is a learning process and that he had hired all three interns to instill and familiarize us to what world is like outside of school classrooms and the library. • 5. Comparing Three Creation Stories One of biggest mysteries that people have been trying to answer for centuries is, How was the earth created? Every culture and religion has a different story that attempts to describe how we came to be. When we pick different creation stories from cultures and religions it s interesting to see what similarities and differences arise. This paper will analyze some of the similar and different aspects of three different creation stories. The first creation story is described in the Bible in Genesis 1 2:3, the second in Genesis 2:4 24, and the third is the creation story of the Kono people of Guinea called Death, and Life and Death. It s fascinating that each creation story hints at a common purpose for humans. In Genesis 1, humans are given ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Genesis 1, the creating power, God, creates plants on day three of the six days of creation. Living creatures (excluding humans) were created on the fifth and sixth days (ESV Gen 1:11 25). In the Genesis 2 creation account, the Lord God plants the Garden of Eden after he creates the man. He then creates animals in the same way he created the man and the man names all the animals (ESV Gen 2:7 20). In Death, and Life and Death, the god Alatangana consolidates the earth from mud, creates plants to cover the earth, and then creates animals to live on it ( Death, and Life and Death ). The creating power in Genesis 1 is referred to as God (ESV Gen 1:1 31; 2:1 3). What s interesting is that in Genesis 2, each time the creating power is referenced; he is referred to as the Lord God (ESV Gen. 2:4 25). Christians believe that God and the Lord God are the same being, but it s interesting that they aren t described with the same name. Still, both Genesis accounts creating powers differ from the Kono people s creation story Death, and Life and Death where the creator of all living things is named Alatangana and the creator of light and death is named Sa ( Death, and Life and ... • 6. Examples Of Leadership In Animal Farm By George Orwell An Inept Leader: Calamity for a Nation and its People The state of a nation primarily reflects the strength and aptness of its leader; a weak leader submits their nation into an abysmal state, whereas a great one promotes progress. In Orwell s novella, Animal Farm, the animals of inferior intelligence comply with their vehement leader, Napoleon, who initially demonstrates strong qualities as a leader. However, Napoleon s leadership succumbs to corruption as he gradually implements unprincipled authoritarian rules that primarily benefit the pigs at the expense of the working class. Similarly, past leaders have displayed abuse of power for personal gain. Through his accurate incorporation of Czar Nicholas II s traits into Napoleon s disposition, Orwell articulates how negligent leadership jeopardizes a nation and its citizens, such as Turkmenistan under Saparmurad Niyazov s reign. Czar Nicholas II crippled Russia by misusing his power in authority: he disregarded the harsh working conditions and poor health of his citizens and sought control through violent means. When an American customer fills out an application for credit from a bank, credit card company, or a store, there information is forwarded to a credit bureau. Liesels understanding of words begins to develop as she is learning to read and write and she begins to witness how words can be used negatively. She understands how powerful Hitler s words are, with Hitler using them as weapons. In addition, that Hitler s words are responsible for the destruction of her life as well as millions of others. • 11. The Effect on Clergy and the Catholic Church during the... Little was known about the clergy during the Black Death. For a long time people believed that the Catholic Church had fled from its duty to serve the people, but that could not be further from the truth. In recent discovery it was found that greater than 50 percent of clergy were killed during the Black Death. This was not because the clergy were running away; rather, the clergy stayed and helped the people in villages, knowing the likelihood they would survive would be slim throughout this epidemic. The victims of the plagues were isolated and their contacts traced and incarcerated. There were restrictions on movement, bills of health, quarantine regulations for travelers and shipping. Bedding and houses were fumigated. People started to abandon cities and run off to the country side where it was believed to be a safer place to live, away from all other people. It is known that some family members would leave their own loved ones who had contracted the plague and venture to clean areas. Doctors would refuse treatment on the sick in hopes that they could somehow be spared for the epidemic. Yet there was one group of people who as a whole looked out for those who were sick: the clergy of the Catholic Church. Priests, nuns, and monks were typically the only glimmer of hope for the sick. With everyone else shunning the sick or abandoning them, those with the plague were happy to receive whatever help they could get. The clergy s function was to administer the sacraments, and if those services were needed by the afflicted faithful as they invariably were, clergy violated charity by fleeing. If it was the duty of a clergy member to visit the sick, it was a scandal and a sin if that person fled the plague. • 12. Crime And Punishment Foil Fyodor Dostoyevsky s novel Crime and Punishment features a wide variety of characters and personalities within its pages. Throughout the novel, many different characters are developed through their introductions and their comparisons to other characters. There are many examples of this foiling technique, but some of the most prominent comparisons are made between the main character Rodion Romanovitch Raskolnikov and characters such as Arkady Ivanovitch Svidrigaïlov and Dmitri Prokofitch Razumihin. These comparisons allow for deeper understanding of Raskolnikov as the audience sees the different potentials his character has. This character is foiled against Raskolnikov to highlight Raskolnikov s good qualities and highlight Svidrigaïlov s bad qualities. Using foiling, Dostoyevsky sets Svidrigaïlov up as a character to mirror Raskolnikov s journey and give the readers a glimpse of what may have happened down a more negative road, unlike the foil of Razumihin. Raskolnikov s murdering the pawnbroker is paralleled with Svidrigaïlov s implied poisoning of his now deceased wife, Marfa Petrovna. Yet Svidrigaïlov s crime differs in that his motives are to be with Dounia, whereas Raskolnikov s were based purely in hubris. They are again paralleled when Sonia serves as Raskolnikov s Christ figure through whom he could acquire redemption, and Dounia plays the same role for Svidrigaïlov. Raskolnikov s interactions with Sonia in her room are mirrored when Svidrigaïlov attempts to pursue Sonia one last time in a neighboring room. Despite this alignment, their interactions differ because Svidrigaïlov locks Dounia into the room with him and rather than attempting redemption, he reveals the crimes of Raskolnikov. It is not a confession of his own sins but Raskolnikov s. As a result, Dounia cannot act as his Christ figure like Sonia does for Raskolnikov, and his method is demanding rather than receiving. • 14. Altruism In Night By Elie Wiesel In Night, altruism is what separates man from beast. Humans as a species differ from the majority of the animal kingdom in their willingness to sacrifice their own well being for the benefit of others. To be human is to be compassionate and caring for your fellow man. In Night, Elie Wiesel shows that humanity is [usurpable]. Subjected to the inhuman conditions of the Nazi concentration camps, his sense of altruism and compassion essentially disappear, leaving only animalistic self interest and the instinct to survive. Not yet exposed to the horrors of the concentration camp, Elie enters Birkenau with his innate senses of compassion and altruism intact. Soon after his arrival, Elie witnesses the burning of children, women, and men alike. In response to this horrific sight, Elie becomes doubtful of the reality of this situation and questions, How was it possible... that the world kept silent? (32). As seen in the creation of Night and this question, for Elie, silence is unthinkable. At this point, Elie still holds faith in the power that people hold. However, the only hope to save these people from their fates is if the silence breaks. Along with this thinking, his tone of disbelief contributes to Elie s demonstration of one of man s most primitive instinct: compassion. This compassion is still strong in Elie for if this was false, why would he have questioned this so passionately? • 15. The Economic And Social Development Plan According to FAO Corporate (no date), since the First National Economic and Social Development Plan began in 1961, emphasis has been on economic development. Natural resources and human capital expanded the production base, employment opportunities and national income. These guidelines were appropriate for and consistent with the country s situation in the early period of national development because of abundant natural resources and an excess labour supply, especially in the agricultural sector. Thailand s production and exports, therefore, were attributed largely to these comparative advantages. Some problems are due to planning focusing on income generation, regardless of the cost to natural resources, the environment and society. Human resources were seen as production inputs serving the labour market; less attention was given to human potential, intellectual capability and local ways of life. Emphasis was on foreign technology transfer, rather than research and development (R D) to upgrade existing wisdom (ibid). To generate national development guideline ideas and recommendations for the Eighth Plan, an unusual planning opportunity was organised in 1998, a think tank seminar, Generating ideas for the Eighth Plan at Marukhataiyawan Palace in Petchaburi. It joined academics, philosophers, mass media and NGOs who reflected on Thailand s future: envisioning a self sufficient, free, just, merciful, compassionate society respecting human rights; in which people are ... • 16. Being Bullied And Having No Recollection Essay The Third Grade: Being bullied and having no recollection Introduction There comes a point in life when most young students are bullied. Some students experience worse bullying than others and suffer more greatly from it. According to US studies, One out of every four students (22%) report being bullied during the school year. (National Center for Educational Statistics, 2015) 64 percent of children who were bullied did not report it; only 36 percent reported the bullying. (Pacer s, 2016) Most children do not report it, leading to their self esteem dropping to an all time low. Whether the child turns to God or has a friend as their saving grace, it is important that they get through those troubles. My Experience The time in my life when I was bullied was a very rough patch and unfortunately a time that I have no memory of. My brain has seemed to block out these events from my mind as I have no recollection of the third grade. I was bullied at a very young age due to my shyness. The second reason I was bullied was due to the fact I was one of the youngest students in the class and also extremely tiny for my age. I fit in better playing with the boys because they were more friendly and just as smart as me, and I was much more girly than the other 8 girls in my class. By the time I was in first grade my only two friends had moved to other schools. Because of this I was left very secluded. One of the first examples the bullying that happened was because of my size many of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The following list presents the 14 countries analyzed by the researchers upon the support for terrorism: Bangladesh; Ghana; Indonesia; Ivory Coast; Jordan; Lebanon; Mali; Nigeria; Pakistan; Senegal; Tanzania; Turkey; Uganda and Uzbekistan. The authors highlight the fact that the survey reflects a reality change following the 9/11 but does not reflect the public opinion about US led military actions in Iraq for the reason that the Pew Institute conducted and completed the country surveys between July 2002 and October 2002 while the US led operations started in March 2003. C. Christine Fair and Bryan Shepherd describe and explain the methodology employed by the Pew Institute to collect data among the countries with large Muslim populations. The survey collected several kinds of data about the respondent but; since the phrasing of the question relates to all varieties of attacks against civilian targets instead of primarily emphasis suicide terrorism; it appears that the survey itself presents a limitation in assessing the support for terrorism. The research note presents another limitation when the authors refer to the Depravation theory without defining it. Descriptive Statistics The spatiotemporal pattern of water quality in the Reedy Fork and Buffalo Creek watersheds exhibits a trend of river deterioration, mainly due to Fecal Coliform. Our study suggests that most of the pollution sources were related to human activities. Looking at table 2a to 5b, it is clear that, F.Col, coliform is the dominant parameter with the highest means in all the sites, both at the Reedy Fork and Buffalo Creek watersheds. However, there are higher mean values of this nutrient in the Buffalo Creek watershed than the Reedy Fork creek watershed. This is clearly visible by looking at the variation in mean variable concentrations for the individual sites through the years under study from the graphs. In comparison to the States Standards in table 10, Fecal Coliform for sites 7, 8, 9, 12, 17, and 18, all in the urbanize Buffalo Creek watershed have mean values of 1613.95, 1189.52, 2447.38, 3167.71, 1410.86, 1178.30 CFU/100ml respectively which are within the states watch zone for the 1999 to 2002 parameters. The Nursing and Midwifery Council (2010), suggest nurses should be able to consider patient s essential care needs and aid them with these needs when patients are not able to help themselves. Allowing nurses to make the patient feel comfortable, during periods when they may be undergoing distress or discomfort. Nurses have to deliver essential care such as making sure patients are eating sufficient amounts of food, keeping hydrated and assisting with hygiene needs. This links into Roper Logan Tierney (1999) model of activities of daily living identifying 16 activities essential to maintaining human life, including: eating and mobilising. Fulfilment and maintenance of these 16 activities indicate an individual is healthy and gives a focus for nurses to deliver targeted patient centred care. This is emphasised in Essence of Care (Department of Health, 2010) which reaffirms meeting essential needs of patients is the main focus point of nursing in contemporary practice. The Essence of Care is made up of 12 categories which health care professionals focus on in order to provide thorough patient centred care. Part of this could be an emotional attachment keeping them from leaving home because after they leave, everything will change. You have to know the major you want to go for, the minors, location, tuition cost, et cetera. I have so many options for the next step in my life. For this paper, however, I have narrowed it down to two options: Miami University and the University of Cincinnati. It is a close race between the two, but based on my recent visit to Miami going there for college would be the better option for my future. Money is an issue for mostly all college students, everyone is always worried about the debt they will obtain by going through schooling and how they are going to pay it off. Unless someone can get a full ride scholarship, you are going to have to owe money to the university you go to. My solution is that I will be making enough money after college to pay it off pretty quickly so I do not have to owe too much money throughout my life. Miami tuition is around $15,000 and room and board is around $13,000 so the total is somewhere close to $28,000 ( 2017 Cohort ). Cincinnati tuition is $11,000 and room and board can be from $11,000 to $13,000, so between $22,000 and $24,000 would be the total ( UC Facts ). Endangered animals exist all over the world, but Florida s official state animal is one of the most endangered animals in the entire world. The main reason some animals become declared as endangered is humans. Humans have caused a huge toll on the wildlife s lifespan and have become a burden in their natural way of living. It is how the human population behaves that decides whether these animals can live a normal life or pushes them into endangerment or even extinction if the case is severe. Many of Florida s wildlife animals are endangered due to the consequences of pollution, the behavior of poaching, and the loss of habitat. Pollution is one of the top reasons why many of Florida s animals are endangered or are classified as threatened in result of becoming endangered. • 36. Meredith Monk Minimalism David Carrillo TA: Joshua Bauder Meredith Monk, Early Morning Melody Early Morning Melody by Meredith Monk is a song with many minimalistic aspects. Repetition and isolation of the human voice are two examples of it. (26 words) The short song Early Morning Melody by Meredith Monk has a beautiful melody that repeats four times with the third time having one different note. The repetition of this melody ironically does not feel redundant, as the listener is likely to have mental pictures on how they interpret the song. For example, thinking of how someone would really sing this for an early morning activity, like taking a shower or cooking. Another image that may come to the listener s mind could be a much sadder scene: perhaps a song for a funeral, or how the use of repetition could simbolize a lack of direction. (105 words) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While some believe the correct use of minimalism has some of the most profound and powerful ways of communicating a message or a mental image, others find it too abstract, simplistic or even boring. The short piece Early Morning Melody by the American composer, Meredith Monk, utilizes minimalistic tools to evoke many emotions and reactions from the listeners. The use of a solo voice and repetition of a simple, yet touching melody are two examples of how the minimalism is displayed. The melody is repeated a total of four times and only the third has a small difference, so minuscule that it is literally just one note that is different. It should also be noted that the unique note could even be in the same harmonic progression of the passage. This is clearly done on purpose and, as explained earlier, leads to as many interpretations as the amount of people listening to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The current overwhelming dominance of the unprecedented modern American empire in the realm of world politics generally agreed upon by experts and scholars around the world. Present debate among experts in the field of international relations revolves around whether the Americans can maintain their primacy for upcoming generations. One major right that all of these teenagers are missing is the right to buy and consume alcohol. The question is posed is whether lowering the minimum drinking age to eighteen would be a better or worse idea. Jeffery A. Miron, a senior lecturer at Harvard University s economics department, and Elina Tetelbaum, a law student from Yale University, write in their argumentative article in Forbes Magazine, The Dangers of the Drinking Age , in which they believe that the minimum drinking age of twenty one is not working. After conducting studies, they found that the minimum legal drinking age of twenty one has little or no effect on traffic fatalities. Lowering the minimum drinking age to eighteen would likely have the same effects as the minimum age of twenty one; it is reasonable to assume that underage teenagers may feel less rebellious knowing that they can legally buy and consume alcohol at the age of eighteen.
