Leadership Assignment
I've been working at Rosati's in Pewaukee for over two years now, we've gone through management
and ownership changes and have generally had a lot of new and old employees leave. While being
under different ownership since about December of 2017, I have seen the culture and atmosphere
shift first hand. When I first started working at Rosati's in 2015 I was referred by my best friend and
had a friend that previously worked there. I had gotten the job without even having an interview
beforehand, I was hired via phone call and looking back now it wasn't very professional. The owner
of the restaurant lived in California and his son ran the joint, so let's say person A and person B were
my managers, and they were generally pretty welcoming. I ... Show more content on

Some of the people employed here including myself switch roles within the workplace often. For
example; I'm trained and able to do every job within Rosati's. I manage phones and cashiering
regularly but I also tend kitchen and man the oven when I need to. There are around 15 people
employed here, some of them hired just recently. We have four delivery drivers (Bob, Jake, Trevor,
Scott), three or four mostly pizza line workers (Alex, Becca, Michael, Keith), etc. However, when it
is expected that one of us needs help on a busy night we jump in wherever help is needed. That
could be attributed to being a value we all share; that we will help where it is needed. Another value
we share is having fun in the workplace. We all try to get along the best we can whether it's by
sharing stories or making jokes. We try to make it an enjoyable place to be. A third value that can be
identified within this small pizza culture is that we try to look and act our best, especially towards
customers (even those that can't be helped to be nice). We understand that appearance and
appropriate body language and etiquette is important and we try to carry that out as best we can,
even while being covered in flour ninety percent of our shifts. The norms identified from the values
discussed above are as follows; to achieve maximum success in the workplace we're expected to
help other stations when busy. Anyone who can jump on pizza line to crank out pizza's will do so,
and if there

Business Analysis : Pizza Usa
Now that prominent literature has been reviewed, the analysis of the case study of Pizza USA, as
alluded to earlier, will be done. Pizza USA is considering offering a delivery service due to
customers saying that it would increase their willingness to buy from the restaurant. In part one, this
analysis will take place from the point of view of a customer. In part two, this analysis will take
place from the point of view of a manager. From this, one will be able to determine the following for
Pizza USA: the features that are important to a customer in regards to pizza delivery; a categorized
master list of features that are important to customers in regards to pizza delivery; process design
requirements for pizza delivery that are accompanied by quantitative measurements; and a flow
chart which lends a visual aid to management of how the process design is theoretical going to
efficiently run.
Part One In this scenario, the analysis will be from the point of view of a customer in regards to the
experience of ordering a pizza to be delivered. Only the service of pizza delivering will be focused
on, rather than the pizza itself. Through logical progression one can determine the basic necessities
that are important to a customer's experience: 1). there must be a user–friendly method of ordering;
2). there must be multiple payment options; 3). the delivery man or woman must be able to reach his
or her destination in a timely manner; 4). the pizza must be of temperature

Essay about Blue Collar Brilliance
Blue Collar Brilliance
David R Miller
Comp 1
Essay 1
In my observation mentally with Mr. Roses essay on blue collar brilliance, Mr Rose tries to tell the
reader on the different levelsof work there is for high educated people opposed to the non educated.
Furthermore he tries express through his family experiences in the work environment how a person
with a manual labor is not so different than a person with a high level of education, they are equal in
job to job views but not in society. "My mother Rose Mesaglio (Rosie), shaped her idenity as a
waitress in coffee shops and family resteraunts" (Rose, 2009) This is by far one of my favorite
statements offered by Rose, from my own experiences in the work field. I like Rose's mother ...

A book can not tell you about the reality of the world and its work enviroment, that taught through
doing not reading. In conlcusion I have pointed out the difference between a college grad opposed to
a non educated person, are they so different? Its sad how society labels people by lack of eduaction.
If some of these so called high classed eduacated people would take the time and actually do a job
outside of there world, would'nt that also be considered " Learning"? Think about it, to beccome
humbled by your own actions is a learning experience. Society today has a very low sense of
understanding about blue collar and white collar jobs. They only look at the cover as opposed to
what really lies inside. I firmly believe that society needs a reality check as to really does all the
work to make the world move as it does. Also in my honest opinion learning on the job can or is
more beneficial than what any college or school can teach about a trade. So next time you see a
landscaper, waitress, or maybe even pizza delivery man, think about how hard that person works to
make that company succeed, its not the owner who does it. A company is as good as its employees,
bottom line.

A Comparison Of Eat Oye And Food Panda
Delivery Ten has 2 major competitors when it comes to the food market and one major competitor
when it comes to groceries and other items. In food, the major competitors are Eat Oye and Food
Panda. The presence of these two home food delivery providers is predominant throughout
Islamabad. As we can see outside all of their major partner cuisines and restaurants a small sign
board is displayed which has the name of either of the service provider i.e. Food Panda or Eat Oye.
This is a strong message for the customers and it remains in the back of their mind whenever they
think of getting something ordered from the same cuisine. A customer who visits their favorite

So, we need to make sure that every step or the process that we incorporate in our strategy of service
delivery represent or reflects the quality and standard of our service. In services, if we talk about
satisfying our customer, practically it's very hard to agree a customer or make him/her trust that our
service would be up to their desired level.(Jessica Hwang, Eves and Desombre, 2003). So, for this
we need to identify some of the gaps that always exist in very service firm and by filling those gaps,
a company can satisfy her customer more efficiently. The four services gaps

Case Study Of Dominos
1. Economies of scale: Dominos is also able to use its large buying power to hedge better costs when
commodity prices fluctuate, it also gives it a better bargaining power with suppliers.
Even at a master franchisee level, Dominos has been able to standardize and centralize the supply
chain services. Taking the UK‟s supply chain as an example, we look at the country level supply
chain works:
1. All the raw materials and food stuffs (dough, ingredients) are prepared at a central commissary in
the UK – located at Milton Keynes.
2. The commissary, then supplies to distribution centers which are located in Milton Keynes, Penrith
and Nass.
3. The distribution centers then supply to the individual stores once in 3 days (to ensure a JIT
philosophy) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The company's key focus areas have always been to deliver pizza on time. Over time, Dominos has
not been focusing on its service aspect, and in a increasingly customer centric world it is critical that
Dominos improves its hiring / training practices and deliver world class customer service along with
the best in class product that it currently offers.

A Company Review Of Domino 's Will Be Presented
Introduction A company review of Domino's will be presented first to give a brief idea about what is
the company doing for business and what's the target. It is essential to know it because it can help to
know if the company has the right strategy and if it might be profitable. Then I will have an industry
review because the profit of the market can explain more of the differences in the large companies
than growth in market share do. A company can still grow despite losing share and take moderate
risk of retaliation if it gain market share in fast–growing market. (Koller, 2010:62) So I need to
know whether the overall environment for pizza is positive and improving (for example, if there's an
improving economy with less discounting) After that, I will present the financial position of the
company by analysing its revenue, net operating profit less adjusted taxes(NOPLAT), invested
capital and free cash flow, return on investd capital (ROIC) and other ratios. Some fundamental
analysis such as its growth trend, capitalised operating lease will also be included. Last I will try to
point out the risks of the firm and also some recommendations to the managers. Company overview

January 24, 2013 Introduction A demand analysis is a very vital tool when a company is starting a

feel that the price charged is too high (United States Bureau of the Census, 2002). A high income

even be willing to pay more as long as they are guaranteed of good quality. Advertising will
disseminate very useful information to the potential customers. It will affect demand by creating an
awareness and interest in the company`s products. It helps the company communicate potentially
attractive attributes of its products that are superior to those of its customers. Domino`s needs to

Pizza Delivery Quick
The Pizza Delivery Quick (PDQ) Industry service in America is considered to be a very successful
market in the quick service restaurant industry. Although the industry success is very appealing,
managing the day–to–day operations needs significant planning and a clear tactics to create,

The Cast of Domino's and Delivery
In this case, the reader is presented with a dilemma concerning Domino's delivery service and
customers ordering from unsafe neighborhoods. Domino's and other pizza delivery companies
(namely Pizza Hut and Little Caeser's) implement a program that ranks neighborhoods based on
their safety; residents living in "red" neighborhoods must drive to the store to pick up their pizza.
Domino's enforces this to protect their drivers from being assaulted or murdered. The ethical
dilemma is that these "red" or "dangerous" neighborhoods tend to be comprised of mostly minority
groups. Upon refusal on Domino's part to deliver to the Fobbs family, the comment was made that
"it can only be because we are black people." The American Civil Liberties Union ... Show more

The focus shifts from Domino's to society and unsafe neighborhoods; from the financial interests of
the shareholders and the pizza cravings of the consumers to the safety of the employees. If these
areas could be made safer or prevented from happening, the problem would be eliminated
altogether. After reading through the case numerous times and several days of thought, I am inclined
to agree with the latter. The management at Domino's has every right to protect the safety of both
themselves and the employees. Drivers should not be expected to risk their lives just to bring dinner
to residents of high–crime neighborhoods. The worst–case scenario for the driver is being killed; the
worst–case scenario for the customer is either driving to the store to pick up the pizza or cooking
his/her own dinner. Some professionals go to work knowing their life is at risk (firefighters, police
officers, and those in the armed forces), but pizza delivery drivers are not (and should not be) part of
that group. If it is wrong for Domino's to refuse delivery to residents of dangerous neighborhoods, it
is more wrong to force employees to deliver to areas where they may be killed. The article states
that "several pizza–delivery people had been murdered while making

Financial Analysis : Cost Of The Facility Essay
Financial Analysis
Cost Analysis
Cost of the Facility
According to Franchise Help's facts and figures, the total liquid capital required for a facility would
be about a total of $750,000 in capital. By totaling the total number of 150 current facilities
operating in the Southwest, Peter Piper Pizza facilities had a total of $112.5M. However, since they
this company is a franchise most of the facilities have been created by franchise owners. By
calculating the cost of the facility, the supplies, kitchen, entertainment equipment, and layout design
all needs to be calculated in the cost analysis. All of this equipment would then end up costing a
facility around $750,000. Not only does cost of the facility itself need to analyzed, but also the
money required to install a new a marketing strategy in the food delivery service. For instance, the
cost of digital presence in the pizza delivery would cost the company around $50,000 in both digital
advertising and television advertising.

contains a large seating area, grand entertainment options, big screen TV's, videogames, prices, and

The Success Of The Pizza Industry
Introduction Domino's has been serving up pizzas to the public since the 1960's, when it was created
by Tom Monahan and his brother James. They managed to carve out a niche in the market when
they decided to focus on making fast pizza as opposed to quality pizza. Dominos famous tag line –
"If it's not delivered in 30 minutes, it's free!" For many years this strategy worked and catapulted
Dominos to the leading organization in the business. However, after many years of success, the
pizza industry started to evolve and Dominos found itself facing declining sales numbers, high
employee turnover, and poor consumer ratings in taste tests. If the company were going to survive it
had to re–evaluate its long standing value proposition, revamp its food, and also restructure its HR
strategies. All of which were done successfully, but this paper will focus on the latter of the group –
Dominos HR strategies. The "People First" Department One major problem Dominos faced, like
many fast–food chains, was rampant employee turnover. "Dominos turnover rate was 158 percent
annually. In other words, for every employee hired during a year another 1.5 employees quit" (Snell,
et al. pg. 78, 2015). In 2009, with rising customer dissatisfaction, sharper declines in sales, and
obvious employee dissatisfaction Dominos decided to launch a franchise–wide turnaround. A major
change introduced was the restructuring of HR and the value recognition placed on its employees.

Seductive Advertising In Advertising
Weekend sports on TV have long been the prime time for beer, car, and entertainment advertisers to
bring out their most sexualized ads for the sport loving man, which is the majority of the American
male population (Craig 193). Like many industries, technology has also tried its hand with a sexual
ad that pushes the envelope of what is acceptable for the original geek buyers and the target
mainstream buyer. Samsung aired their sexualized ad, "Seductive Motion," in 2012 and surprisingly
achieved chart topping results with the mainstream buyer base. Shocking results are not new for the
ever changing technology industry but these related to Samsung's new advertisement defy trends for
technological ads and do bring up several important questions. Like, what transpired in Samsung's
controversial ad that warranted a positive response from the mainstream consumer and how has nerd
culture been popularized and integrated with current mainstream ideals?
The Samsung Smart TV with motion–control commercial uses sexual stereotypes and humor to
create not only a desire for the woman, but also the TV being sold. The ad begins with music
playing in the style of the movie "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" and shows a man working in a high

Pizza Us Expansion Into The World Of Delivery Essay
Pizza USA: Expansion into the World of Delivery Customer service is an important aspect to
creating and maintaining a successful operation and should be at the forefront for all business
managers and their operations. The principal thought is that in order for your business to grow and
be successful, the business must recognize what the customers want and find a way to deliver it,
possibly even literally. In this study, Pizza USA will evaluate the various aspects of implementing a
delivery system to an established restaurant. To gain new and repeat customers, the services offered
must go the extra mile to ensure that all of these needs, and maybe even a few extras too, are not
only met but exceed the expectations. The best way to determine what a customer wants, needs, and
desires is to gain responses from said customers and apply those with the management techniques
and procedures to make for the optimal delivery experience.
Delivery Requests from Customers Transitioning and adapting to a new service model as part of the
daily business operations can be overwhelming. To make the transition easier, it is best to keep in
mind that the customer and their needs are at the center of each choice, action, and result (Jacobs &
Chase, 2014). As the majority of people have been customers at one point or another, it is simple to
think of additional or original ways to enhance a delivery experience. The following are key features
and desires that customers would like to see

Domino's Franchising
Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen I am .............................I'm a representative for Domino's
Pizza Australia. Today I will present to you the reasons why you should invest in my franchise. I
will be outlining the advantages and disadvantages of the franchise as well as a SWOT Analysis,
KPI's and I will suggest a suitable location for the franchise. But first, allow me to give you a brief
overview of what Dominos does. Like all big businesses they all started out small and grew over the
years. Dominos started in America with only one store in America. Then started to franchise around
the world. Domino 's Pizza Australia began in Red Hill, Brisbane, in 1978 as Silvio 's Dial–A–Pizza,

Then I looked at the average individual income and it showed more information. In Gatton the
average individual income was $369 a week whereas in Kingscliff the average individual income
was $399 weekly. The last criteria I went through to choose the most convenient location for the
new franchise was the total population of people in the workforce. In Gatton the total population of
people in the work force was only 166 people whereas in Kingscliff the number of people in the
work force was 2460 people. After I went over the information the clear choice was to invest in a
franchise in Kingscliff as it is a growing town with a high number of people in the work force. The
choice to start up a new franchise in Kingscliff was more profitable than starting one up in Gatton as
the information shows that you get more customers where people have more money. The last piece
of criteria I used was the target age of the consumers. The average age for both place were the same
between 25–54 years of age. With this large number of people at that age they would be more likely

There are a lot of strengths in investing a Domino's in Kingscliff. There would be ongoing traffic on

Inventory Mangement At Mcdonald ' S Essay
INVENTORY MANGEMENT AT MCDONALD'S:
This process begins from the procurement of raw materials from the suppliers. Raw materials
include cheese, sesame seeds, lettuce, vegetable products, etc. The various suppliers of these are:
Dynamix Dairy Industries Ltd, Pune for cheese and Trikaya Agriculture, Pune for iceberg lettuce
Chicken Patty from Vista Foods and vegetable patty from Kitran Foods, Taloja
Buns from Cremica Industries, Phillaur and Sesame Seeds from Ghaziabad.
These raw materials are then supplied to the distribution centers in lorries with three sections so that
they can be stored at proper temperatures– frozen, chilled and ambient. There are three main
distribution centers at Mumbai, Delhi and Kochi. McDonald's has both cold and dry storage
facilities where materials are stored in at suitable temperatures upto –22 degrees celsius. From these
distribution centers, the delivery trucks carry these materials to the outlets around 3–5 times a week,
where it is converted into the finished product.
McDonald's uses the First In, First Out inventory process, where the items received first, are the
ones which are used first. It uses Just–In–Time inventory system, where the raw materials are
received as soon as the order is placed and it produces and provides final products to consumers,
only when they place an order.
McDonald's introduced an expert team called the Restaurant Supply Planning Department, to

Available Tissues and Condiments upon Delivery As customers ordering pizza, ketchup, hot–sauce

measure that would ensure that the process meets the requirement.

Fast Delivery Time of Pizza Use a grouping system wherein, each Pizza USA branch would have a
specific area to deliver to. Each delivery area will then be mapped out and be placed on a grid for
consistency and efficiency purposes. Each branch then assigns delivery boys who will specialize in
delivering to each sector of the grid.
Synchronization of times should be done between the customer and the order–taker.
Accurate Delivery of Pizza Double–checking of orders before delivery highly important.
The use of delivery people who specialize in a particular area can ensure that the order arrives at the
proper location.
Follow–ups on Delivery Status The order–taker can send information regarding the status of
delivery person. A call can be placed to inform the customer upon the departure of the delivery via
cellular phone if there are any unexpected causes of delay apart from the traffic situation.

Domino's Pizza was able to strike a balance between simplicity and enforcement of the application
process without configuring the solution in a format that would be too cumbersome for the average
store manager. "With the help of Taleo, we've been able to solve our paperwork compliance problem
without sacrificing functionality or a simple user interface. There are no more excuses of lost
paperwork and we can now quickly see which applicants are missing documents, therefore reducing

Passing Information Directly to Timekeeping System
With the help of Taleo, Domino's Pizza also eliminated the need for the manager to enter application

Increasing Sourcing and Talent Pipeline Visibility
Since implementing Taleo, Domino's Pizza has seen improvements in several areas within its

In sharp contrast from the United States, pizza is viewed as a luxury meal in Japan therefore the
restaurants create a high scale environment and an extravagant food presentation for their customers.
With 364 stores, this luxury brand gained popularity through socio–demographical changes in the
habits of its citizens. More women joining the workforce is increasing the desire for more "ready–
to–eat" dinners. Its sophistication is developed through the customers demand for high quality
toppings, like foie gras and snow crab, and valued aesthetics. Therefore, the prices raised and the
consumption is significantly lower in comparison to the United States.
From an organizational perspective, Domino's global restaurants adapt to the consumers cultures
and taste to meet the needs of every customer worldwide. For example, in Japan, market research
revealed that Japanese customer preferred raw sea food like raw fish, seaweed along with rice in
their pizzas. The Japanese had the option of choosing between American style pizzas and local
pizzas.
In addition to being cognisant of a country's religious tastes, Domino's does a great job
implementing promotional offerings when it is essential. For instance, an average consumer will eat
Domino's four times a year. Given this information, Domino's tried to boost consumption by

Abstract To remain competitive in this market segment, businesses must focus on satisfying
customers, while providing a quality product. Pizza USA customers have communicated that they
would purchase more pizza if a delivery service were offered by the restaurant chain. If the process
is well designed and fits the specifications of management, implementing a delivery service to
satisfy customer wants would grow the business and increase competitiveness. From a management
perspective, research must be done to properly align costs with the return on investment. Many
factors must be taken into consideration and the benefits must be measurable. As a customer, we
will explore the attributes that make having a delivery service a valuable commodity. Restaurant
chains are directly affected by fluctuating economic conditions, which influence customer buying
behaviors. Re–branding or re–inventing their image can provide huge advantages for both Pizza
USA and the customer. Additionally, by building on the technology now available, the chain can
also enhance the customer experience with more ordering options and less error.
Pizza, USA is a restaurant chain that currently offers dine–in and take–out services only. Customers
have expressed a desire to have delivery service offered by the chain.

Why I Hate Running
Although I hate running just as much as the next sane person, there is still a place that I can go that
makes me fall in love with running just as a toddler might with just about anything that shines or

road down and back in under a half hour in real time but to me it will feel like centuries. While

As I neared the middle my legs began to feel as though someone just poured a hip high level of
cement and I had to try to run through it. After realizing the immense pain my legs were in, I soon
realized that my lungs were the next thing to go. Just imagine having your lungs shrivel up into the
size of a pea and that is only part of the pain my body betrayed me with. As I neared the halfway
point on the seventh tenths of a mile long hill, I felt relieved that I was finally able to run on a lower
grade once more. For those who have not experienced this feeling, just imagine the feeling you get
when the pizza deliveryman finally arrives at your house with your steaming hot and delicious

Christmas. The child, having received all he ever imagined and more, is overcome with such
emotion which causes him to burst with laughter. This combination of feelings is nowhere near how
ecstatic I was to end my uphill journey. This excitement is short lived as I once more continue my
trek up the agonizing hill. Only three steps from the plateau, I felt like I should just give up. At this
point, a two week old baby would have a better chance of running up the rest of the hill than I did;
however, I remembered a story that I used to read as a child. There was no particular reason for this

Marketing Strategy Of Domino's Pizza
Domino's Pizza: A strategy to enter the Czech food service market
Introduction
Domino's Pizza is among America's favourite pizza chains and, although it ranked below well–
known chains such as Papa John's and Pizza Ranch, the company still managed to have a slightly
higher loyalty score than its closest competitor Pizza Hut. Founded in 1960 by Tom Monaghan and
his brother James in the city of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Domino's experience a rapid growth and open
its first international restaurant in the early eighties and reached the number of more than 1000
stores worldwide at the end of Nineties; the aim of the company, indeed, is the constant growth, as it
is declared in the mission statement: "we want to be the number one". Almost half of Domino's

the UK and the US. Domino's Pizza has unlocked this potential in India, a key growth market and
Domino's largest international market to date, but has struggled to find similar success in China and
Brazil, where it trails chief competitor Pizza Hut. Domino's specifically leads the world in HDTA

Do The Right Thing?
Do The Right Thing (1989) is a classic film written, produced, and directed by Spike Lee. The focus
on the movie is set on racial issues, and the entire movie takes place on the hottest day of the year in
the Bed–Stuy section of Brooklyn. Lee does an incredible job demonstrating the tautness between
the races on the block specifically among the African American race and American Italian race.
Lee's use of symbolism among the characters, mise–en–scene, and shot composition in his film Do
The Right Thing from beginning to end illustrates the struggle between peace and conflict. During
the time this film first came out there was many racial tensions going on in America. Primarily in
the blocks of New York. In this film Lee addresses these racial issues by creating a film that takes
place in one entire day on the block where protagonist, Mookie, lives and works as a pizza delivery
boy for Sal, an Italian American pizza owner in the block that is populated by mostly blacks. Lee's
symbolism among characters is absolutely incredible from start to finish. The beginning of the film
is started with music by Public Enemy "Fight The Power" where we see a young female (Rosie
Perez) dancing, and at one point with a boxing outfit. This demonstrates an aggressive feel right off
the bat, while the next scene takes place over at LOVE FM, a radio station ran by Mister Senor Love
Daddy who is waking up the town and warning them about the high temperatures of that summer
day. Right away Lee

Fast Food Public Relation Blunders
Introduction
Fast Food can be defined as quickly made food that is sold in restaurants as a quick meal or to be
taken out. The first fast food restaurants came around the 1920's and have since then, blown up to be
its own part of American Culture. Chances are, if you live in the United States there is a fast food
restaurant within a mile of your house. As the century progressed these fast food restaurants
expanded to countless countries across the world becoming a big part of peoples everyday lives.
Since there are countless fast food franchises selling generally the same products, the market is
extremely competitive. Fast Food franchises participate in aggressive marketing and are always
trying to stay in the good graces of the public eye. One slip up and chances are they are going to lose
a vast amount of business. As much as they try though there is no possible way they would be able
to anticipate some of the public relations blunders that occur especially in an age where there are
eyes everywhere in the form of cameras and social media. One of the biggest public relations
disasters in recent memory involved the fast food pizza delivery franchise Domino's and another

I expose this letter too, it practically makes sense. In my mind, I look at the name tag on his jacket.
It says Benny McCartney. Did Benny McCartney legitimately leave me this note, he was the only
guy at my front porch: well the only guy that is essentially forced to because of pizza deliveries. But
it still does make me wonder if he does truthfully like me; or has there been some kind of cosmic
mix–up in this estranged world? Some sort of mistake, a big mistake, like forgetting to hitch back
onto a rope when you're halfway up Mount Everest in the middle of Winter mistake. "I must be

Felicity: A Short Story
The next morning I drive into town to pick up some pizza. Aunt Claura is at the local university,
taking classes, and I figure some familiar food will lighten Felicity's mood. The shop looks almost
exactly the same as it did when I came here as a child, about ten years ago. It still smells like greasy
pepperoni and hot bread. I sit patiently at one of the small tables, eyeing a child's marker scribble
that I swear might be mine. "I'm assuming this is yours," a cheerful voice says from the register. I
glance up at the boy holding two boxes steady on the counter. The first thing I note are the blue
streaks in his dark hair. I smile and meet him, paying him an extra twenty dollar tip. He seems
surprised, but smiles his thanks anyway. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
"No!" I scream, and sprint back out the door. Felicity went to the woods. She went to the woods to
get proof, to show me that she was right about the dolls, and now they're going to – I barge out the
door without grabbing my coat. I don't grab shoes either, and in my haste I trip into the creek and
fall on my hands and knees in icy water. I snarl and yank myself up, running into the forest,
searching for any sign of my little sister. It's getting dark out, she'll get lost without the light to guide
her. "Felicity!" I scream. Her name bounces back at me, a distorted, confused cry. I shout for her
over and over, pushing fog through the air with each breath, until my throat is hoarse. My eyes fill
with tears and I try not to cry as I stumble through the woods. If they took Felicity, then it's my fault.
I'm her big sister, I'm supposed to take care of her... The winter begins to gnaw at my skin, and I
lean against a tree to try and regain the feeling in my legs and arms. They're still wet from the creek,
and the coldness is so sharp it hurts. "Felicity," I croak once more. I slump at the base of the tree,
exhausted. My teeth are chattering so hard they might crack. My head hurts. All I want is to sleep.
Just for a few minutes, and then I'll find

Leadership Assignment

  • 1. Leadership Assignment I've been working at Rosati's in Pewaukee for over two years now, we've gone through management and ownership changes and have generally had a lot of new and old employees leave. While being under different ownership since about December of 2017, I have seen the culture and atmosphere shift first hand. When I first started working at Rosati's in 2015 I was referred by my best friend and had a friend that previously worked there. I had gotten the job without even having an interview beforehand, I was hired via phone call and looking back now it wasn't very professional. The owner of the restaurant lived in California and his son ran the joint, so let's say person A and person B were my managers, and they were generally pretty welcoming. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some of the people employed here including myself switch roles within the workplace often. For example; I'm trained and able to do every job within Rosati's. I manage phones and cashiering regularly but I also tend kitchen and man the oven when I need to. There are around 15 people employed here, some of them hired just recently. We have four delivery drivers (Bob, Jake, Trevor, Scott), three or four mostly pizza line workers (Alex, Becca, Michael, Keith), etc. However, when it is expected that one of us needs help on a busy night we jump in wherever help is needed. That could be attributed to being a value we all share; that we will help where it is needed. Another value we share is having fun in the workplace. We all try to get along the best we can whether it's by sharing stories or making jokes. We try to make it an enjoyable place to be. A third value that can be identified within this small pizza culture is that we try to look and act our best, especially towards customers (even those that can't be helped to be nice). We understand that appearance and appropriate body language and etiquette is important and we try to carry that out as best we can, even while being covered in flour ninety percent of our shifts. The norms identified from the values discussed above are as follows; to achieve maximum success in the workplace we're expected to help other stations when busy. Anyone who can jump on pizza line to crank out pizza's will do so, and if there ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Business Analysis : Pizza Usa Now that prominent literature has been reviewed, the analysis of the case study of Pizza USA, as alluded to earlier, will be done. Pizza USA is considering offering a delivery service due to customers saying that it would increase their willingness to buy from the restaurant. In part one, this analysis will take place from the point of view of a customer. In part two, this analysis will take place from the point of view of a manager. From this, one will be able to determine the following for Pizza USA: the features that are important to a customer in regards to pizza delivery; a categorized master list of features that are important to customers in regards to pizza delivery; process design requirements for pizza delivery that are accompanied by quantitative measurements; and a flow chart which lends a visual aid to management of how the process design is theoretical going to efficiently run. Part One In this scenario, the analysis will be from the point of view of a customer in regards to the experience of ordering a pizza to be delivered. Only the service of pizza delivering will be focused on, rather than the pizza itself. Through logical progression one can determine the basic necessities that are important to a customer's experience: 1). there must be a user–friendly method of ordering; 2). there must be multiple payment options; 3). the delivery man or woman must be able to reach his or her destination in a timely manner; 4). the pizza must be of temperature ... Essay about Blue Collar Brilliance Blue Collar Brilliance David R Miller Comp 1 Essay 1 In my observation mentally with Mr. Roses essay on blue collar brilliance, Mr Rose tries to tell the reader on the different levelsof work there is for high educated people opposed to the non educated. Furthermore he tries express through his family experiences in the work environment how a person with a manual labor is not so different than a person with a high level of education, they are equal in job to job views but not in society. "My mother Rose Mesaglio (Rosie), shaped her idenity as a waitress in coffee shops and family resteraunts" (Rose, 2009) This is by far one of my favorite statements offered by Rose, from my own experiences in the work field. I like Rose's mother ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A book can not tell you about the reality of the world and its work enviroment, that taught through doing not reading. In conlcusion I have pointed out the difference between a college grad opposed to a non educated person, are they so different? Its sad how society labels people by lack of eduaction. If some of these so called high classed eduacated people would take the time and actually do a job outside of there world, would'nt that also be considered " Learning"? Think about it, to beccome humbled by your own actions is a learning experience. Society today has a very low sense of understanding about blue collar and white collar jobs. They only look at the cover as opposed to what really lies inside. I firmly believe that society needs a reality check as to really does all the work to make the world move as it does. Also in my honest opinion learning on the job can or is more beneficial than what any college or school can teach about a trade. So next time you see a landscaper, waitress, or maybe even pizza delivery man, think about how hard that person works to make that company succeed, its not the owner who does it. In food, the major competitors are Eat Oye and Food Panda. The presence of these two home food delivery providers is predominant throughout Islamabad. As we can see outside all of their major partner cuisines and restaurants a small sign board is displayed which has the name of either of the service provider i.e. Food Panda or Eat Oye. In services, if we talk about satisfying our customer, practically it's very hard to agree a customer or make him/her trust that our service would be up to their desired level.(Jessica Hwang, Eves and Desombre, 2003). Economies of scale: Dominos is also able to use its large buying power to hedge better costs when commodity prices fluctuate, it also gives it a better bargaining power with suppliers. Even at a master franchisee level, Dominos has been able to standardize and centralize the supply chain services. Taking the UK‟s supply chain as an example, we look at the country level supply chain works: 1. All the raw materials and food stuffs (dough, ingredients) are prepared at a central commissary in the UK – located at Milton Keynes. 2. A Company Review Of Domino 's Will Be Presented Introduction A company review of Domino's will be presented first to give a brief idea about what is the company doing for business and what's the target. It is essential to know it because it can help to know if the company has the right strategy and if it might be profitable. Then I will have an industry review because the profit of the market can explain more of the differences in the large companies than growth in market share do. A company can still grow despite losing share and take moderate risk of retaliation if it gain market share in fast–growing market. (Koller, 2010:62) So I need to know whether the overall environment for pizza is positive and improving (for example, if there's an improving economy with less discounting) After that, I will present the financial position of the company by analysing its revenue, net operating profit less adjusted taxes(NOPLAT), invested capital and free cash flow, return on investd capital (ROIC) and other ratios. Some fundamental analysis such as its growth trend, capitalised operating lease will also be included. Last I will try to point out the risks of the firm and also some recommendations to the managers. • 28. The Cast of Domino's and Delivery In this case, the reader is presented with a dilemma concerning Domino's delivery service and customers ordering from unsafe neighborhoods. Domino's and other pizza delivery companies (namely Pizza Hut and Little Caeser's) implement a program that ranks neighborhoods based on their safety; residents living in "red" neighborhoods must drive to the store to pick up their pizza. Domino's enforces this to protect their drivers from being assaulted or murdered. The ethical dilemma is that these "red" or "dangerous" neighborhoods tend to be comprised of mostly minority groups. Upon refusal on Domino's part to deliver to the Fobbs family, the comment was made that "it can only be because we are black people." The American Civil Liberties Union ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The focus shifts from Domino's to society and unsafe neighborhoods; from the financial interests of the shareholders and the pizza cravings of the consumers to the safety of the employees. If these areas could be made safer or prevented from happening, the problem would be eliminated altogether. After reading through the case numerous times and several days of thought, I am inclined to agree with the latter. The management at Domino's has every right to protect the safety of both themselves and the employees. Drivers should not be expected to risk their lives just to bring dinner to residents of high–crime neighborhoods. The worst–case scenario for the driver is being killed; the worst–case scenario for the customer is either driving to the store to pick up the pizza or cooking his/her own dinner. Some professionals go to work knowing their life is at risk (firefighters, police officers, and those in the armed forces), but pizza delivery drivers are not (and should not be) part of that group. If it is wrong for Domino's to refuse delivery to residents of dangerous neighborhoods, it is more wrong to force employees to deliver to areas where they may be killed. They managed to carve out a niche in the market when they decided to focus on making fast pizza as opposed to quality pizza. Dominos famous tag line – "If it's not delivered in 30 minutes, it's free!" For many years this strategy worked and catapulted Dominos to the leading organization in the business. However, after many years of success, the pizza industry started to evolve and Dominos found itself facing declining sales numbers, high employee turnover, and poor consumer ratings in taste tests. If the company were going to survive it had to re–evaluate its long standing value proposition, revamp its food, and also restructure its HR strategies. All of which were done successfully, but this paper will focus on the latter of the group – Dominos HR strategies. The "People First" Department One major problem Dominos faced, like many fast–food chains, was rampant employee turnover. "Dominos turnover rate was 158 percent annually. In other words, for every employee hired during a year another 1.5 employees quit" (Snell, et al. pg. 78, 2015). In 2009, with rising customer dissatisfaction, sharper declines in sales, and obvious employee dissatisfaction Dominos decided to launch a franchise–wide turnaround. Seductive Advertising In Advertising Weekend sports on TV have long been the prime time for beer, car, and entertainment advertisers to bring out their most sexualized ads for the sport loving man, which is the majority of the American male population (Craig 193). Like many industries, technology has also tried its hand with a sexual ad that pushes the envelope of what is acceptable for the original geek buyers and the target mainstream buyer. Samsung aired their sexualized ad, "Seductive Motion," in 2012 and surprisingly achieved chart topping results with the mainstream buyer base. Shocking results are not new for the ever changing technology industry but these related to Samsung's new advertisement defy trends for technological ads and do bring up several important questions. Like, what transpired in Samsung's controversial ad that warranted a positive response from the mainstream consumer and how has nerd culture been popularized and integrated with current mainstream ideals? The Samsung Smart TV with motion–control commercial uses sexual stereotypes and humor to create not only a desire for the woman, but also the TV being sold. Why I Hate Running Although I hate running just as much as the next sane person, there is still a place that I can go that makes me fall in love with running just as a toddler might with just about anything that shines or squeaks: McAleer Road. To most people Mcaleer road is part of their daily routine to get them to and from their job or to drop the children off at school; however, to me it is an escape. I can run the road down and back in under a half hour in real time but to me it will feel like centuries. While running on this specific road time seems to slow down; I have all the time in the world to clear my mind and think deeper about events that have occurred in my life and in the world around me. Often times I find myself analyzing books or other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As I neared the middle my legs began to feel as though someone just poured a hip high level of cement and I had to try to run through it. After realizing the immense pain my legs were in, I soon realized that my lungs were the next thing to go. Just imagine having your lungs shrivel up into the size of a pea and that is only part of the pain my body betrayed me with. As I neared the halfway point on the seventh tenths of a mile long hill, I felt relieved that I was finally able to run on a lower grade once more. For those who have not experienced this feeling, just imagine the feeling you get when the pizza deliveryman finally arrives at your house with your steaming hot and delicious pizza. Now combine that feeling with the excitement of a small child running down the stairs on Christmas. The child, having received all he ever imagined and more, is overcome with such emotion which causes him to burst with laughter. This combination of feelings is nowhere near how ecstatic I was to end my uphill journey. This excitement is short lived as I once more continue my trek up the agonizing hill. Only three steps from the plateau, I felt like I should just give up. At this point, a two week old baby would have a better chance of running up the rest of the hill than I did; however, I remembered a story that I used to read as a child. There was no particular reason for this memory ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 73. Do The Right Thing? Do The Right Thing (1989) is a classic film written, produced, and directed by Spike Lee. The focus on the movie is set on racial issues, and the entire movie takes place on the hottest day of the year in the Bed–Stuy section of Brooklyn. Lee does an incredible job demonstrating the tautness between the races on the block specifically among the African American race and American Italian race. Lee's use of symbolism among the characters, mise–en–scene, and shot composition in his film Do The Right Thing from beginning to end illustrates the struggle between peace and conflict. During the time this film first came out there was many racial tensions going on in America. Primarily in the blocks of New York. In this film Lee addresses these racial issues by creating a film that takes place in one entire day on the block where protagonist, Mookie, lives and works as a pizza delivery boy for Sal, an Italian American pizza owner in the block that is populated by mostly blacks. Lee's symbolism among characters is absolutely incredible from start to finish. The beginning of the film is started with music by Public Enemy "Fight The Power" where we see a young female (Rosie Perez) dancing, and at one point with a boxing outfit. This demonstrates an aggressive feel right off the bat, while the next scene takes place over at LOVE FM, a radio station ran by Mister Senor Love Daddy who is waking up the town and warning them about the high temperatures of that summer day. It says clearly, I am your biggest fan. In my lifetime I have never gotten a letter like this, could this possibly count as a love letter? I mean, seriously, what? I am significantly beyond far from famous. Now that I have this, the first petty action that comes to mind is to go upstairs in my room, and to contemplate staying there or telling someone about it. Eh... Trapping myself alone? In a confined area? Absolute perfection if you ask me. Outside my window, the snowstorm is whirling and raging white anger and when I push my face against the glass, I can see billions of snowflakes dancing and diving past my window. Henderson says snowflakes are little universes unto themselves. Which reminds me, he has got to be the first person I expose this letter too, it practically makes sense. In my mind, I look at the name tag on his jacket. It says Benny McCartney. Did Benny McCartney legitimately leave me this note, he was the only guy at my front porch: well the only guy that is essentially forced to because of pizza deliveries. But it still does make me wonder if he does truthfully like me; or has there been some kind of cosmic mix–up in this estranged world? Some sort of mistake, a big mistake, like forgetting to hitch back onto a rope when you're halfway up Mount Everest in the middle of Winter mistake. "I must be brain–dead" ... Aunt Claura is at the local university, taking classes, and I figure some familiar food will lighten Felicity's mood. The shop looks almost exactly the same as it did when I came here as a child, about ten years ago. It still smells like greasy pepperoni and hot bread. I sit patiently at one of the small tables, eyeing a child's marker scribble that I swear might be mine. "I'm assuming this is yours," a cheerful voice says from the register. I glance up at the boy holding two boxes steady on the counter. The first thing I note are the blue streaks in his dark hair. I smile and meet him, paying him an extra twenty dollar tip. He seems surprised, but smiles his thanks anyway. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... "No!" I scream, and sprint back out the door. Felicity went to the woods. She went to the woods to get proof, to show me that she was right about the dolls, and now they're going to – I barge out the door without grabbing my coat. I don't grab shoes either, and in my haste I trip into the creek and fall on my hands and knees in icy water. I snarl and yank myself up, running into the forest, searching for any sign of my little sister. It's getting dark out, she'll get lost without the light to guide her. "Felicity!" I scream. Her name bounces back at me, a distorted, confused cry. I shout for her over and over, pushing fog through the air with each breath, until my throat is hoarse. My eyes fill with tears and I try not to cry as I stumble through the woods. If they took Felicity, then it's my fault. I'm her big sister, I'm supposed to take care of her...
