The Workplace Conditions And Safety Climate Related...
The workplace conditions and safety climate related programmes, especially in emerging
industrial countries, are remained poorly neglected (Bosak, Coetsee, Cullinane, 2013) . For
instance, Indonesia as an emerging country has three major issues regarding safety climate,
including labour market, security and quality of the working environment issues, such as poorly
paid salary and wages, long working hours, accidents, etc. (OECD, 2014). In fact, Jamsostek
(2013) reports that work accidents in Indonesia has been increasing to one point seventy six
percent per year (p.82). For example, in 2013 there were 103.285 accidents or 283 accidents per
day with a total claim of 563.44b rupiah or equivalent to US$ 56.344m (Jamsostek, 2013, p. 110)....

Accordingly, employee s safety issue is not only related to physical factor but also psychological
factors. Hence, it may argue that working environments may relate to psychological safety of the
employees (Law, Dollard, Tuckey, Dormann, 2011). Furthermore, several authors have argued
that psychological safety of the employees may have an impact on other factors, such as
employee s efficacy (Al Refaie, 2013; Chen Chen, 2014; Christian, Bradley, Wallace, Burke,
2009) and performance (Baer Frese, 2003; A. Carmeli Gittell, 2009; Edmondson, 1999). For
example, when an employee has got unsafe condition at work psychologically, it will affect his
/her self confidence to perform the job effectively and indeed, it may affect the performance of
the company. Hence, it may argue that these three factors (i.e. psychological safety, self efficacy
and performance) are related. Although there has been increasing focus on studying Psychological
safety (Amponsah Tawiah et al., 2013; Brown Leigh, 1996; Edmondson, 1999; Kahn, 1990; May,
Gilson, Harter, 2004; Tynan, 2005), self efficacy (Bandura, 1982; Elias, Barney, Bishop, 2013;
Jones, 1986; Riggs Knight, 1994; Wang, Tsai, Tsai, 2014) and organisational performance

The Importance Of The Common Law Approach To Negligence
In recent years, Queensland has made changes to legislation in this area of law after seeing an
increase number of negligent claims. Professional negligence claims include all areas of the health
industry, workplace incidents particularly within the building industry, education and personal
industry. The statement the common lawapproach to negligenceis all that is needed to effectively
regulate this area of law , is not entirely true as a more detailed and harsher approach to
negligence, such as legislation, would be greatly beneficial in approaching negligence. Common
law is defined as law that has been developed on the basis of preceding rulings by judges.
Statutory laws are written laws passed by legislature and government of a country and those which
have been accepted by the society. (Diffen, 2017). It is argued that common law is simply not
enough to adequately protect Australian citizens in claims of negligence. Hence in courts it could
be argued that common law application is unreliable due to the myriad of circumstantial negligent
situations. Therefore government intervention provides a safety net for courts to apply legislation
to each case. The purpose of this essay [presentation] is to disprove that common law is all that is
needed in the interpretation of negligent cases. This will be achieved by examining the legislation
and case law.
Parliament attempts to cover as many situations within civil law by legislating definition of actions,
defenses and

Summary Of The Guardian
The Guardian
For as long as time itself, humans have been weak and fragile, in need of Guardians to watch over
them. At birth, a child is given a Guardian, and for the remainder of their short life, that human is
protected and guided by an unseen force. These chosen few were fated to watch life pass on
without truly experiencing it. They are the lonely sentinels in an everlasting night, watching over a
person s dreams for seventy years before watching over another for seventy more, and on and on
and on through eternity.
Life offers infinite happiness, and thus, those who d hunt for this feeling of pure joy pay with
misery Fate collecting the debt and sentencing debtors to death. Every mortal has chosen to trade
their bodies on earth simply for the short, sweet taste of life. When that probationary period called
mortal life concludes, it is the Guardian that leads the soul out of the confines of the body and to
that Afterlife we speculate so much about. In regards to this Afterlife, there is not much that can be
said. Not for fear of instigating a war of religions, but more because it is unknown. The Guardians,
because of their immortality, are forbidden to enter that place. To understand something is to have
power over it, and the Guardians simply cannot comprehend the Afterlife; thus they are like children
fearing the dark because they cannot see what lurks within. No one to enter the Afterlife can return
to share its secrets with the world. Thus, the only information we

Robots Disadvantages
By the year 2050 robots will transform our lives, by being like another family member in the
house and a co worker at work. As well as helping people walk and move. They are learning to
perform surgeries, and delivering food to our bedrooms, which is increasing their efficiency and
practicality, making our lives easier. I know when many people hear the word robots they think
of them as bad because there as been many movies where they are depicted as bad but in fact
robots can help us in many tasks. Robots are being used a lot in our century which will have a
positive impact on the human race. CNN news says that robots have become the norm in numerous
industries. They are right there as many industries that are using robots today. One of the major
ways robots can have a positive impact on the human race is that Robots can save companies time
and money by being able to produce a greater magnitude of products a.nd reduce haggard amount of
wasted materials. Also are they are faster, quicker and more importantly, very accurate. Which will
prevent worker injures. One of the most important places where robots are being introduced are in
hospitals. This will really shape the future of hospitals. They be able to help doctors in the operating
room because they have greater visualization, Enhanced dexterity, and Greater precision. Which
studied to traditional surgery with incisions, robots can make smaller incisions proceed in less pain
and scarring. Robotic surgery allows surgeons to perform complicated surgical tasks through tiny
openings using robotic technology. Surgical robots are self powered, computer controlled devices
that can be programmed to aid in the positioning and manipulation of surgical instruments. This
provides surgeons with better accuracy, flexibility and control. Surgeons at the children s national
medical center have overseen an autonomous robot performing soft tissue surgery, stitching together
a pig s stomach during open surgery and doing so better than a human surgeon. Tony Beldame,
professor of cognitive systems and robotics at Plymouth University states, They are instruments for
the surgeons to use for keyhole surgery, as they offer greater precision than handheld tools,

King Henry Carnmer
Everyone know the basic refomers for example Martin Luther John Calvin. But does anyone
know Thomas Cranmer.Thomas was the archbishop of canterbury after William Warham the
previous archbishop. He took his holy orders 1523 after his wife dided in child birth*.But after
this event he fled the city because of a plague. After he fled he caught the attention of Henry VIII
who was close to where he was. Henry saw that Thomas was on the same ground as of Henry s
marriage to Catherine of Aragon. And by order of King Henry Carnmer was later on sent to
Germany to learn more about the Lutheran movement, where he met Andreas Osiander, a
Lutheran reformer whose ideas appealed to him. Osiander s niece also appealed to him. So
Cranmer and the niece, Margaret, were married that year. On March 30, 1533, he became
Archbishop of Canterbury, and forced him to hide his marriage. Once his interview was approved
by the Pope, Cranmer declared King Henry s marriage to Catherine void**. and four months later

the peace loving man but after threats and promises, deprivation and long imprisonment Cranmer
did break and signed a recantation of his firmly held beliefs. Realising that he had been deceived,
and would not be released, Cranmer set about having the last word. As he stood before the pyre he
used his final public prayer to profess his reformed faith, to repudiate the error of transubstantiation
and to denounce the Pope . Then, as the flames licked around him he put the hand that had signed

Imaginary Companions In Child Development Essay
Introduction Many children experience a common phenomenon known as the imaginary
companion. This usually manifests itself in the creation of an invisible person that they engage
in an active relationship with. While many parents are confused about how to approach and
relate to their child and their child s imaginary companion they should be assured that the
process is quite normal. Imaginary companions are not a sign of mental illness but a normal
healthy part of a child s development (Taylor, 1999). Historical View of Imaginary Companions
Early research on imaginary companions was deficit focused in nature Some of the earliest
research around the beginning of the 1900 s viewed it as a sign of a psychological disorder
(Vostrovsky,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact studies have shown that children with imaginary companions have be more socially
orientated than not (Gleason, Jarudi Cheek, 2003). Imaginary companions may serve a variety
of functions but the particular function they fulfill for each child depends on the wishes and
needs of the one who creates them (Hart Zellars, 2006). How did imaginary friends get created?
Starting from infancy children start with sensorimotor play which consists of only motor
activity (Ungerer, Zelazo, Kearsley, O Leary, 1981). A young child that likes to shake a rattle to
hear the sound is engaging in sensorimotor play. Infants also engage in imitation. Imitation is the
replication of the activities of another when they can see the activity being done (Frahsek,
Mack, Mack, Pfalz Blezinger Knopf, 2010). The child and the type of play they engage in will
grows more complex as the child s development advances (Piaget, 1962). As the child grows a
little older and starts into the preoperational stage they start engaging in symbolic play. One of the
key evidence of being able to engage in symbolic play is by imitating the actions they see others
doing after they cannot observe them being done (Fein, 1981). Imitating past behavior of others
uses representational skills and is called deferred imitation (Vasta,

American History Is Responsible For The Creation Of...
American history is responsible for the creation of conspiracy theories for famous ideas and
events constructed by the government and made available for the public to either believe or
disbelieve a hoax or phenomena. Merriam Webster defines conspiracy as a theory that explains
an event or set of circumstances as the result of a secret plot by usually powerful conspirators. A
popular theory to be defined as an alleged hoax is the end to the Space Race, accomplished by the
United States of America s Apollo 11mission that successfully brought Commander, Neil A.

success in systems and structure on October 1968. 9:32 A.M. at Kennedy Space Center.
Subsequently, Armstrong, Buzz, and Michael Collins launched Apollo 11 and entered lunar orbit

Analysis Of Aaron Burr And Alexander Hamilton
The Oval Office symbolizes the government whenever public judgement casts the governmental
system in negative or positive light. Arguably, every presidential administration becomes marked
by the supposed corruption that lies within it, for the office is considered the Room Where It
Happens (Miranda and McCarter 186). In homage to the times of exclusion and inclusion of Aaron
Burrand Alexander Hamiltonin this room during the founding father s era of government,
Hamilton: The Revolution, by Lin Manuel Miranda and Jeremy McCarter, states that [one]
feel[s] like [one has] been Burr [..] as many times as [one has] been Hamilton (264).
Nevertheless, as Miranda identifies to a greater degree with Hamilton because of his rags to
riches record, my ideologies gravitate towards Burr from experiences in a culture where failure
is condemned. Moreover, the eventual vilification of Burr for his role in Hamilton s demise
versus Hamilton s martyrdom for his reckless abandon leads me to identify more with Burr as a
victim of fallacious antagonization than Hamilton as an erroneous martyr based on a single
precept: one s reputation stems from a series of public judgements void of consideration on
individual detriment. Dominance acts as a form of dopamine to man s brain: it gives man
satisfaction from superiority and control over supposedly inferior beings. While Hamilton, the
immigrant with a lack of wealth and family, climbs up the echelons of the societal ladder, Burr is

Jonbenet Ramsey Murder Case
Jonbenet Ramsey was bashed or hit in the head with a flashlight, asphyxiated with a garrote, and
sexually assaulted. It was almost impossible for someone to go through the window without
destructing or disturbing the spider s web in the bottom left corner of the window. There was no
sign of intrusion or an outside break into the Ramseys house. If it was an outside intrusion, there
would ve been access to the house and Jonbenet would have had to know the person doing so. The
murderscene looked to be staged or looked to be deceiving.
The murder is known to be at night, not long after Burke Ramsey had a late night snack of
pineapple and milk and a glass of tea. The murder might have been placed anywhere in the house
of the Ramsey s. Jonbenet was found in the basement or the wine cellar eight hours after the 911

Advantages Of Flats

a high demand for furnished flats. For tenants looking for a temporary flat, a holiday home, or a

their own furniture. This is why buying unfurnished flats and filling them with high quality
furniture is such a great investment opportunity. Landlordology says that furnished flats can be
much more profitable in the long run to landlords than unfurnished flats and also have numerous
benefits that tenants are looking for. Here are just a few reasons why and some demographics

Renting out two or three bedroom flats means that their families can also stay with them during
their work visit. It is a much better saving for business travellers than the minibar at a hotel and
much nicer to have a fridge full of food or a washer and dryer when they need them without having
to wait for hotel room service. Even just a sofa to lie on and a tv to watch at the end of a long day
are a bonus.
5.Students
Parents who are looking for flats for their children starting university will want somewhere
temporary but also safe and comfortable. This is another market which has a high demand for
rented furnished apartments. Luxury apartments with built in security systems will be attractive to
parents, particularly parents of girls living alone. Students can enjoy their university life with
luxury amenities and their parents have peace of mind that they are staying safe.
As you can see, there are many advantages to tenants for renting furnished flats and many different
markets that landlords can tap into. Done correctly, it can be a great investment opportunity that

Antisocial Personality Disorder
Antisocial Personality Disorder (APD) is a disorder characterized by behaviour that is socially
undesirable such as breaking the law, lying, and not feeling any guilt. People who suffer from APD
often have certain personality traits such as being charming, manipulative, insincere and incapable
of love. Psychopathy is an extreme version of APD. In this essay, I am going to explore the
question what is Antisocial Personality Disorder? I also wish to understand the difference between
people who suffer from APD and people who suffer from psychopathy.
Antisocial Personality Disorder affects 1 to 4 percentage of the population. Gazzaniga et al.
(2016) outlines how APD is much more common in men than women. Also, nearly 50 percentage
of prisoners meet the requirements to be diagnosed with APD. According to the DSM 5, the
Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, APD cannot be diagnosed before the age
of 18, but some form of antisocial behaviour must have been carried out before the age of 15. It
states that true psychopaths have more extreme behaviour than those with APD and are
pathological in their degree of callousness (Gazzaniga et al. 2016 p. 639). So what are the causes
of APD? Slower alpha waves have been detected through

have always enjoyed the thought of artificial intelligence of a machine being able to think and

At the end of the production this networked computer system commanded, Let there be light! and

some it is only a matter of a machine being able to analyze data and then take an appropriate

The Muslim Genocide that Took Place in Europe
Genocide Research Paper I swore never to be silent whenever and wherever human beings
endure suffering and humiliation. We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor,
never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented (Wiesel). Just like Elie
Wiesel mentioned, one must never remain silent when such atrocities are occurring. Although
there may be times where one feels powerless to injustices there should never be a time where
one fails to protest. Silence is the reason for the moral crimes that have happened in history and
are still going on to this day. Genocides have always happened because of silence. Just like Elie
Wiesel questioned God s silence in Night, he also questioned the world s silence. The silence that
caused the annihilation of many human beings and forever changed history. According to
dictionary.com, a genocide is the deliberate and systematic extermination of a national, racial,
political, or cultural group. As previously mentioned, genocides occur from the silence of the
people, racism, and fear. The belief of superiority of one s own race is the beginning of a
genocide. Hatred towards the Muslims caused the beginning of a new extermination. The Muslim
genocide took place in Europe, Bosnia Herzegovina from 1992 until 1995. Since the beginning of
Bosnia, Muslims have always been the majority in the population. Bosnia was created after the
break up of Yugoslavia, which included the religious groups of Serbs, Croats, and

Bilbo Themes
J.R.R. Tolkien s The Hobbit has often been regarded as one of the greatest fantasy stories. A
majority of the appeal of The Hobbit lies in the fact that it is, at its very core, a story about the
journey of a seemingly ordinary hero. The story may appeal to children because even on a
surface level, it is a story about the fantastical adventures once can have if they leave the comfort
of their home. However, it is also a journey from past to present; it shows how the richness of the
tradition of the past has a lot to teach us, and it tells us to live in the present with both the lessons
of the past enriching our experience, but also to consider what the future can hold for us. However,
the most essential journey in The Hobbitis the journey... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

wondered whether he ought not, now he had a magic ring, to go back into the horrible, horrible

powerful magic objects in the story, he still feels a sense of duty towards the dwarves, one that
goes beyond the contract he signed to help them on their question. In contrast, Thorin is highly
unable to look beyond the contract, as he feels betrayed when Bilbo takes the Arkenstone and
gives it to the elves and men to make peace (252). The dwarves have sense of loyalty and

Egoism And Egoism In Peter Parker s Spider Man
The stimulus that I have chosen for this internal assessment is a scene from the movie, Spider
Man 2. Peter Parker struggles to find a balance between his Spider man life and his life as a
citizen; his grades are steadily declining at university, he gets fired from his job and cannot find
any time for his friends. In the scene that I selected, Parker realizes that he has a choice, that there
are no obligations for him to climb walls and fight crime for a safer environment. He then decides
to throw his Spider Mancostume in a bin and forget about his super hero life, in order to focus on
his own life. As a result, his life as an individual is thriving, his grades at university are getting
better, and he doesn t have to fight crime anymore, which offers him more time for his beloved
ones and personal ambitions.
150 words Should an individual act for his own benefit? Or should he act for the sake of others? In
ethics it is assumed that right actions demand an individual to act for the sake of others, this
concept is known as altruism. However this view is challenged by the concept of egoism: the idea

It is clear that an unjust man who has possession of the ring would act egoistically. But what
about the righteous man? Since he would not have any consequences for what he does, he does
not feel fear, in that case why would he act altruistically? According to Glaucon, he would not act
altruistically, as there are no consequences to his actions. I personally think that it depends on a
lot of factors and the person himself. For example a priest that has acted altruistically throughout
his life will probably act altruistically even while he possesses the ring of Gyges. He probably
does not want to act egoistically and the way he was brought up and educated will influences the

Watership Down Summary
Watership Down Have you ever wondered how rabbits lived? How they get food or sleep or live?
This book tells you about that and it also tells of an adventure of a couple rabbits trying to find a
new Warren. The beginning of the story start off in a warren. The two main characters are Hazel
and his brother Fiver. Fiver is a special rabbit, meaning he knows when something is not right and
can sense it. One night Fiver got the sense that something bad was going to happen to their
warren. He told Hazel about it. Hazel knew that when Fiver got these feelings he was mostly
right. They went to the chief and told him about it, however, the chief did not believe them.
When they went back to their whole they decided they would leave the next night, and maybe
get some rabbits to go with them. They would have to keep it on the down low so they wouldn t
get caught by the Owsla. Owsla was like the rabbits body guard for the chief and acted like police
officers to the other rabbits. They would pick the biggest and the strongest of the rabbits. They left
the next night with a good group of rabbits. The rabbits who went were Bigwig, Blackberry, Silver,
Dandelion,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When they got there they had to make their own warren. The rabbits at first didn t know what to
do because they never saw a warren get built before. It usually was the Does named for lady
rabbits who made the holes in the warren. They had an idea of how the warren was supposed to
look like, and they started to build it. Hazel was the one who over looked all the work. One night
while they were eating and resting they heard a noise. All the rabbits went into the warren and
Hazel and another rabbit went to see what the noise was. They found out that it was Holly and
Bluebell. Holly was the captain of the Owsla and Bluebell was one of the Owsla. They knew
Bigwig and was looking for him. Just like Fiver instinct told him their warren was in danger.

Functionalist Perspective On Divorce
Divorce is such a personal and common thing in America. There are so many couples who go
through the act of divorce every day. According to Kanewicher and Harris (2014), forty to fifty
percent of couples will end in divorce within the first few years of marriage. Divorce is the legal
dissolution of a marriageby a court or other competent body. There are many factors that may lead
couples into divorce. Some of those factors are, marrying too young, low education levels and
overall just lack of preparation (Kanewischer, 2015). Although divorce is common now, it was not
like this back in the late 1900 s. Divorce was not allowed and most of the time people did not want
to get divorce because of all the time and effort they put into their marriage.... Show more content

In general, children from divorced families did have more behavioral problems than children from
non divorced families. They continue to struggle with the behaviors well into their adolescence
stage and into their adult stage (Weaver, 2015). It makes maintaining relationships and trusting
others difficult. There are three different theoretical perspectives. Functionalist perspective, which
emphasizes the way in which the parts of a society are structured to maintain its stability.
Functionalists see the contribution that it makes to society. The conflict perspective, assumes that
social behavior is best understood in terms of tension between groups over power or the
allocation of resources, and political representation. The interactionalist perspective, which
generalize about everyday forms of social interaction in order to explain society as a whole
(Schaefer). In the topic of divorce, it seems as if the functionalist perspective explains it well. Most
of the people get a divorce because they are unhappy within the marriage. If the couple continued to
be married it could cause more problems such as affairs, theft, depression, etc., therefore ruining the
society s stability. Both individuals would be happier and there would be fewer dysfunctional
families. Through the functionalist perspective, the idea of divorce is

A Review of the Book Calabash Parkway
At first glance, Dr. Brenda DoHarris Calabash Parkway appears to be a novel about a Guyanese
woman meeting an old friend from her native land, in New York, after several years. Upon further
reading, the novel has resilient records of feminism in the protagonists Agatha, Evadne, and
Gwennie. The three are emasculated by poverty, neglect, and abuse. Living in a masculinized
country the three women refuse to succumb to their struggles of life. These powerless
characteristics of the three young women are overcome after immigrating to New York and
Canada. The first reflection of feminism is Gatha s life of poverty. The shadow of political tyranny
and economic malaise loomed over the country (DoHarris 6)1.Those living in Guyana struggled to

She is well aware of whom her father is, but his not willing to acknowledge of her as his
daughter plagues her; remembering the vilest human feeling of all to be a child virtually devoid
of adult love and protection (31). She meets Compton, a Guyanese man returning to pick up his
residence papers from the US Embassy, and quickly falls in love, marries him, and moves to
New York where he currently resides. Dr. DoHarris expounds that: Not only had Evadne been
able to snag a bridegroom, but she secured one who would be able to wisk her off de mudflat,
thousands of miles away from the stich by miserable stich existence to which she had thought
she was irrevocably wed (39). Nor are Evadne s struggles in New York any less compelling than
Gatha s. Indeed, in some ways, they may be more so; for Evadne s relationship with Compton
becomes complicated when his former lover Jennifer gives birth to his daughter, Joy; and when
Evadne and Compton buy a house from Jennifer s sister the complications erupt with Jennifer
shooting and killing Compton (DoHarris qtd in Birbalsingh p.131). Gwennie, like Evadne, struggles
with overcoming a past of being sexually abused, not by a stranger or distant relative, but by her
father. Once leaving Guyana she never returned, not even when hearing of the death of her mother.

Road King Trucks Case Analysis Essay
Abstract
This paper is an analysis of Road King Trucks new project which is introducing a new product into
its product line. I will decide whether run the project or not. Six issues will be discussed as follows
1) importance of energy cost; 2) project s cash flows; 3) cost of capital; 4) choose an engine 5)
evaluation 6) accept or reject.
We should accept the project because of the positive NPV and high IRR. We will gain $532
million in wealth which is a big money on the scale like this. The company has a bond rating of
AA that makes the risk relatively low. So we should definitely say yes.

Importance of Energy Cost

The land was accounted for opportunity cost. If we don t run the project, we can sell it and earn $6
million right now.
Cost of Capital (see table 2) I used WACC as the discount factor, we expect the rate of return to be
higher than it, the same at least. The WACC reflects the average risk and overall capital structureof
the entire firm [2]. It s the required return and it presents how much the company pays for the
capital it finances. In this case, the cost of equity is 10.33%, the cost of debt is 6.50%. I calculated
WACC using those numbers and got a result of 8.49%.
Choose an Engine (see table 3)
There are two options for engines will be installed on buses. And so are the warranties. The
decision should be made according to engines quality, effectiveness, etc. But to investors, cost is
the main factor. In this case, Detroit engine has an installation cost of $20,000 and a warranty of
$1,000 each year for 5 years; the cost of installation of Marcus engine is $2,000 less but the
warranty is $1,500 per year. To figure out the cost I calculated the NPVs of each year for 20 years.
The NPVs of the warranties for each bus are same at the year it been produced. For example, the
warranty of a Detroit engine has a NPV of $4,276 in the year it been produced. (This method is
coming from Mr. Hasse. I used to combine the warranty for each year and use those numbers in
calculation.)
The NPV of installation cost and warranty of Detroit engine is $252,154,

My Slave Narrative
When I was young I was a slave. It was a part of my life that I prefer not to flashback to because
of the horrors it brings me back to. One day, at our family reunion at the Chesapeake Bay my
great grandchildren, came up to me begging for stories. Since I had always been so private about
my past, I felt that it was a good time for my family to learn about my past life as a slave. Come
here young ones, I shouted, Would you guys like to learn about my former life as a slave? Yes!
they kids shouted as they ran over to my rocking chair. My oldest great granddaughter, Ethel,
was the first at the rocking chair and she asked, Grandmother, can you tell us about your
wedding? That s a great story, Ethel, one of my few fond memories as a slave. To start off, I met
Frank in the cookhouse while I was gathering food to bring back to our master s house. He and I
were both house servants. My heart stopped when first saw him and I thought he was the most
handsome man I had ever seen. On the outside, he was a strong, tough man, but on the inside, I
felt that he would be caring and sweet. Later that night, after I had finished my work we met again
in the cookhouse. Instantly, we fell for each other and our marriage ceremony was performed two
months later. What happened at your wedding? Ethel asked. Frank and I had a fairly traditional
slave ceremony. As house servants, we were about to have a formal wedding. For us, the black
plantation preacher came and then in the quartering

Myths Surrounding The Education Of Gifted Students
There are many myths surrounding the education of gifted students. According to Cross (2002),
some of these myths include: gifted students should spend time with their age peers, gifted students

students understand the their social and emotional needs, adults truly understand what it is like to

Importance Of Preferential Trade Agreement
Internal Memorandum 2
Countries are increasingly using preferential trade arrangements in order to liberalize trade.
There are specific terms used in this context as such. When talking about a PTA, it should be first
made clear that this is an exception the core WTO principle of MFN. Some countries are treated
better than others for the purposes of such agreements, as opposed to the MFN status of the WTO,
where everybody is treated the same. There are going to be increasing levels of integration
associated with PTAs.
The first one, according to relevant literature is the so called free trade agreement, FTA. Under this
arrangement countries will eliminate restrictions with their other club members , but will continue
to add independent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first two ways of integration deal with movements of goods and services across borders and
WTO commitments. So, to be clear, it is only the FTAs and Customs Unions towards which WTO
rules are addressed. The WTO has certain commitments that members agree to, surrounding these
preferential trade agreements. On an FTA, where the FTA and customs union are treated under art.
XXIV of the GATT, the commitments under the agreements are required that the restrictions on
non members cannot be increased. You can eliminate the barriers among your buddies, but you
cannot increase the tariffs on non members. With the customs union, since there will be a
common policy towards non members, there could be some instances where some good s tariffs
go up for a particular member and down for another. So, it is looking at policies as a whole. There
will be a requirement for compensation as such.
The other expectation is that the restrictions both under the FTA or customs union need to be
removed by members on substantially all trade and within a reasonable amount of time. So, the
idea is that an FTA or customs union will not be only for the auto industry or only for the
agricultural industry, it should be for trade, as a whole. Some agreements in practice do not meet
this criteria and it is possible that a member could bring a dispute settlement case against two other
WTO members, who are not living up

Similarities Between The Yellow Wallpaper And A Rose For...
In the story, A Yellow Wallpaper the narrator tells her story of her life living with her husband
and she comes off as a distressed, morose wife. In A Rose for Emily Emily is struggling with
keeping a tradition in her family and is also and also distressed. Both women deal with the
struggles of their husbands who do not give them attention or treat them well. They both show
similarities in their qualities of life. In William Faulkner s, A Rose for Emily and Charlotte Perkins
Gilmans The Yellow Wallpaper, both have female characters who have to endure and overcome
struggles of loneliness, isolation, insanity, and depression as the female protagonist.
In A Rose for Emily she grows up with her father who was very controlling over Emily s life. He
controlled all aspects of her life such as any men who were interested in Emily were sent away
by her father. This kept Emily isolated from everyone in the town and she never left her house.
According to Watkins The Structure of A Rose For Emily, The inviolability of Miss Emily s
isolation is maintained in the central division, part three, which no outsider enters her home. In
The Yellow Wallpaper it is shown that the female narrator is desolate and is put in an attic room
away from everyone. It is also revealed that she is not treated fairly or well taken care of when
her husband who is a physician does not help her get better. From Gender in The Yellow Wallpaper

African American culture in the United States refers to the cultural contributions of Americans
African descent to the culture of the United States, either as part of or distinct from American
culture. The distinct identity of African Americanculture is rooted in the historical experience of the
African American people. The culture is both distinct and enormously influential to American

The folktales provided African Americans the opportunity to inspire and educate one another.
Examples of African American folktales include trickster tales of Br er Rabbit and heroic tales such
as that of John Henry. The Uncle Remus stories by Joel Chandler Harris helped to bring African
American folk tales into mainstream adoption. Harris did not appreciate the complexity of the
stories nor their potential for a lasting impact on society. The legacy of the African American oral
tradition manifests in diverse forms. African American preachers tend to perform rather than simply
speak. The emotion of the subject is carried through the speaker s tone, volume, and movement,
which tend to mirror the rising action, climax, and descending action of the sermon. Often song,
dance, verse, and structured pauses are placed throughout the sermon. Call and response is another
pervasive element of the African American oral tradition. It manifests in worship in what is
commonly referred to as the amen corner. In direct contrast to recent tradition in other American
and Western cultures, it is an acceptable and common audience reaction to interrupt and affirm the
speaker. This pattern of interaction is also in evidence in music, particularly in blues and jazz
forms. Hyperbolic and provocative, even incendiary, rhetoric is another aspect of African American
oral tradition often evident in the pulpit in a tradition

The Pro s and Con s of a student preacher can be very nerve wrecking because of the
responsibility of following through with every I dotted and every T crossed. When writing,

to follow in a league of skillful preachers, pastors and teachers. How can you be original when it
appears all of the apparent techniques have been discovered? Speaking of technique, how should a

Through this survey they found the small church pastor was not as influence by books because their
concern was more focused on discipleship. Whereas the pastor of a larger church was more apt to
read more books to get incite on how to continue to grow his church and meet the needs of the
people. Also the survey revealed the different types of influence came from authors, their fellow
colleagues and other theology influences. Also, they discovered pastors of a Pentecostal
churches were more conservative in their approaches and would not use the influence of outside
sources. The Word of God talks about the mature saint and the survey also discovered that the
age of a pastor will have influence of what is preached based on experience. Either way modern
day preaching has many factors of how a sermon is structured and shared among congregations
at every main service. When you consider how today s modern preacher or teacher compares to
the original believers of Christ there is a shortage in comparison. There could be one factor
missing and it s just purely believing in the power of God s word being enough for the people to
feed on and live on until eternity. His word never changes it is the bread of life that will feed any

How Comedy Makes Us Better People Summary
In the BBC article How comedy makes us better people Mary O Hara claims comedy holds a
very relevant place in not only British politics and culture, but in the entire world because it can
be used to comprehend and come to terms with confusing events or tragedies, challenge the
authority of our governments, and destroy bigoted states of mind. Humor continues to mystify
the people who study it to this day. Why does humor play a major part in our everyday lives?
What is the significance of it? O Hara interviews experts from many different fields discussing
comedy and its impact on the emotions, politics, and differing points of view. For instance, the
tragedy of 9/11 had many jokes following its events because people around the world were trying
to grasp why such a terrible thing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

be disregarded as a matter of opinion. By supplying each point with an array of examples, O
Hara manages to show the reader that many beside herself share her points. After planting a
statement, O Hara makes sure that she backs up her claims with plenty of evidence. When
examining how comedy changes people s views of certain minority groups, O Hara lays out two
different examples of real situations where this is put into affect. She touches on the homosexual
community, disabled community, and even on a man who shared his experience from being a

numerous examples, O Hara successfully convinced the reader that comedy does indeed hold a

The Constitution And The United Kingdom
A constitution is often defined as a set of rules set to regulate the system of government within a
state. Professor King in his Hamlyn Lecture defined the constitution as, the set of the most
important rules that regulate the relations among the different parts of the government of a given
country and also the relations between the different parts of the government and the people of the
country . Unlike some other democratic countries, the United Kingdom does not have a single
written document entitled The Constitutionbut rather it has what is referred to as an unwritten
constitution .
The UK constitution is made up from a wide variety of sources, some of which are conventions
while others are as more official such as laws found in EU law. The constitution can be found in a
number of documents such as Magna Carta, the Bill of Rights, the Act of Settlement and the
Parliament Acts. A common source of the constitution includes Acts of Parliament, there exists the
argument that many of the Acts that are currently on the statute book are constitutional laws, this can
be noted in the case Thoburn v City Sunderland (2002) , where Laws LJ makes a distinctions
between what he termed as ordinary statutes and constitutional statutes . Similarly decisions of
courts can also become a source of legislation, as can the legislative supremacy of parliament, A.V.
Dicey, the British jurist and Constitutional theorist, described this as the power of law making

It was a quiet morning of December 14, 2012 in Newtown, CT, USA during the usual winter
weather in New England state, with people preparing for the Christmas holidays. What happened
next has triggered consequences of starting the major debate on gun control with the creation of a
presidential task force charged with recommending solutions to the problem of gun violence, and
more specific, public mass shootings. That is when 20 year old tall and lanky man named Adam
Lanza made his way to the Sandy Hook Elementary School and cold bloodedly murdered 20
children between six and seven years old, as well as six adult staff members. Minutes before, he
shot dead his own mother at their Newtown home... It was not neither first nor last of wanton mass
killings of strangers/innocent bystanders (children) with deliberate attempt to deprive them of their
lives without any tangible gain or explainable reasoning, motives happening in the US.
This paper will look into, the constituting factors to the mass shootings in the US. It will examine
variables, such as: Social Construct, Mental Illness, Quest for Fame, Revenge, Terrorism as well as
profiteers ( the usual suspects ): Gun Manufacture s Industry, Hollywood Movies, Mass Media,
Video Gaming and National Rifle Association... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What makes the United States a lead producer of mass murderers? What motives drive them? The
United States suppose to be the land of unlimited opportunities, where in order to have a
prosperous normal life and attain happiness people do not have to resort to murder, a lot of
times perpetrators were from very well off families, they even were enrolled in prestigious
schools: Adam Lanza, Elliott Rogers, Holmes had everything lined up for them to be content and
happy. Several scholar articles suggested that many factors played a major role in brewing the
environment for large scale murder to grow and prosper . Look at the graph on the previous page

Religious Authority And The Protestant Reformation
During the sixteenth century, numerous conditions and beliefs existed that cause the Protestant
Reformation. It was a religious, political, cultural and logical disturbance that had made some
Europeans split from the Catholic Church. In northern and central Europe, reformers [such as John
Calvin, Henry VIII and most importantly Martin Luther] challenged papal authority and questioned
the Catholic Churchs ability to define Christian practice. The tension between the reformers and the
church triggered wars, persecutions and the Counter Reformation, also called the Catholic
Reformation. Augustine had emphasized that the bible is more a fundamental source for religious
authority than the Bible is. He also believed that humans could not reach salvation by their own act,
but only God could give salvation by his divine grace. Throughout the Middle Ages, the Catholic
Church taught that salvation was achievable through works of righteousness that made God
pleased. Martin Luther, born in the year 1483 in Thuringia (Saxony), which is what is now the
country of Germany, began to have doubts about the theological basis for much of the daily
practices of the Catholic Church. In other words, he questioned and wondered if the Catholic
leaders teachings were acceptable to the Catholic religion. He shared his two central beliefs with
Augustine, which would later form the basis of Protestantism. Meanwhile, the Catholic Church s
practice of allowing indulgences to offer absolution to

The Florida Project Essay
The Florida Project is a film about a family living in a motel and how financial hardship affects
the children of this film. The family I choose to support is Moonie s mother, Hailey. Within the
film, Hailey is unemployed and having a challenging time finding a job which caused her to lose
the assistance she received from welfare. Hailey turns selling discounted items on the streets and to
prostitution as her main source of income. To try and support this family, I would offer Hailey a job
at my uncle s restaurant, which will allow her not to use prostitution as a source of income. If
Hailey was able to have a steady job should would be able to provide her daughter a better place to
live and a reliable food source. Additionally, Hailey having a steady would allow her to receive
assistance from welfare if she qualified.
The film ended with a good cliffhanger, having the viewer question what would happen next to
Hailey and Moonie or why Moonie ran away to Disney World. I feel that Moonie went to Disney
World because she thought that she would blend it with all the other children and not be taken by
DCF. When Moonie runs away Hailey was faced with another challenge of trying to find her
daughter to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She had to remain resilient despite the stress that faced her and Moonie. Even though her
personality was unpleasing to most, the bond she created with her daughter allowed both to survive
their hardship together. A major challenge Hailey encountered was when she was being evicted
from her motel room and had to seek refuge at another motel. Unfortunately, the motel changed its
management along with the prices causing Hailey to become volatile with the staff, eventually
being able to move back into her previous motel. Bobby her landlord is the only person who tries

The Influence Of The Pantheon On Modern Architecture

period. Pantheon, initially a roman sanctuary worked to committed to every one of the divine

elements or principles of design into their own works eventually common elements from the
Pantheon can be found in various places, like chapel, libraries or even museum. The Rotunda

Pantheon in Rome and it is to symbolize authority of nature and power of reason . The ideas of
building Rotunda uses the same idea of building Pantheon. It is clearly seen that the materials
use is very different. Pantheon is constructed by reinforced concrete while Rotunda gives a neat
and clean finish of the overall building by using wood and brick. Moving to the interior, it uses a
different approach while it is designed. Pantheon is an enclosed big place where the only light
source enter is from the eye while Rotunda is built as an mulit story architecture that the light
source comes from the windows was in built around the dome. Other examples are like San
Antonio, Trieste, build by Pietro Nobile; Church of the Great Mother of God, Turin, build by
Ferdinando Bonsignore; Church of San Francesco di Paolo, Naples, build by Pietro Bianchi. The

The Second Period
I finished weighing in and began to warm up. Same routine as always and soon I was up next.
Ankle bands on and ball of my foot on the line. A handshake, a whistle, and the match begins.
The first takedown came quicker in this match than it did in the last. I tied up, hand fought, and
set up my shots. The match was going my way and I wrestled smart through every scramble,
keeping the upper hand. It was the third period and I had a decent lead. I got another takedown
and turned him to his back. For a second I swear I had him pinned but the referee was not in
position to see it until my opponent was able to put a sliver of space between his shoulder and the
mat. The third period came to an end and I got my hand raised for the 40th time that... Show more

He was tall, the tallest wrestler in the bracket which was a problem for me since I m short and
stocky. Tyler, my wrestlingpartner was six feet tall so that helped me prepare when wrestling taller
opponents. Same game plan regardless and the match began.
In the first period I got in deep on several shots but he was able to get out of bounds and cause us
to reset in the middle of the mat. The second period began and it was my choice of position.
Usually I would choose to defer to the second period but since it was 0 0, I chose bottom position.
In the event of sudden death overtime the wrestler who scored first gets to choose whether they
want to be on top or bottom position. The first overtime would be one minute in the neutral
position and if no one scored then it would be two 30 second periods with each wrestler getting a
chance at top and bottom position. If it s still tied after that we would go to a 30 second sudden
death victory in referee s position, which is the starting position with one wrestler on top and the
other on bottom. An escape is more likely than turning and getting back points so that s why I
chose to take bottom in the second period.
I got the escape quickly and was up 1 0. Escapes were another thing I was really good at. The
wrestling club I went to, DC Elite, taught me to be an expert at takedowns and escapes. Becoming
an expert at what you re good at will improve you faster

understand the benefits of this new protocol and are making change plans. The Information
technology industry is undergoing a massive transformation. This research paper would outline the
migration, transformation, and configuration of Internet Protocol version 6 from Internet Protocol

The networks combine IP with a higher level protocol called Transmission Control Protocol. This
protocol establishes an implicit connection between a destination and the origin. Internet Protocol
can be correlated to a postal system network. It grants an entity to address a parcel, packet or mail
and drop it in the postal system. There is no direct link between the consignor and the recipient.
TCP/IP
Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol is the primary network communication,
language since the mid 1990s. It can be passed down as a communications protocol in a private
network. The TCP/IP is a two layered protocol. The Transmission Control Protocol is the higher
layer which administers the assembling of a message or file into smaller packets. These packets
are transmitted over the Internet. The packets are amassed and reassembled into the primary
message after being received by the TCP layer. The Internet Protocol is the lower layer. This layer
monitors the address part of each packet so that it gets to the right destination. The TCP/IP
establishes an intermediary between two hosts so that they can send messages back and forth for a
period of time.
Internet Protocol Versions
Tout de suite there are two versions of Internet Protocols on the web. The predominant version is
IPv4 and a leading edge advanced version which is called IPv6. The IPv6 is an evolutionary
enhancement to the Internet

  • 2. The Workplace Conditions And Safety Climate Related... The workplace conditions and safety climate related programmes, especially in emerging industrial countries, are remained poorly neglected (Bosak, Coetsee, Cullinane, 2013) . For instance, Indonesia as an emerging country has three major issues regarding safety climate, including labour market, security and quality of the working environment issues, such as poorly paid salary and wages, long working hours, accidents, etc. (OECD, 2014). In fact, Jamsostek (2013) reports that work accidents in Indonesia has been increasing to one point seventy six percent per year (p.82). For example, in 2013 there were 103.285 accidents or 283 accidents per day with a total claim of 563.44b rupiah or equivalent to US$ 56.344m (Jamsostek, 2013, p. 110).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Accordingly, employee s safety issue is not only related to physical factor but also psychological factors. Hence, it may argue that working environments may relate to psychological safety of the employees (Law, Dollard, Tuckey, Dormann, 2011). Furthermore, several authors have argued that psychological safety of the employees may have an impact on other factors, such as employee s efficacy (Al Refaie, 2013; Chen Chen, 2014; Christian, Bradley, Wallace, Burke, 2009) and performance (Baer Frese, 2003; A. Carmeli Gittell, 2009; Edmondson, 1999). For example, when an employee has got unsafe condition at work psychologically, it will affect his /her self confidence to perform the job effectively and indeed, it may affect the performance of the company. Hence, it may argue that these three factors (i.e. psychological safety, self efficacy and performance) are related. Although there has been increasing focus on studying Psychological safety (Amponsah Tawiah et al., 2013; Brown Leigh, 1996; Edmondson, 1999; Kahn, 1990; May, Gilson, Harter, 2004; Tynan, 2005), self efficacy (Bandura, 1982; Elias, Barney, Bishop, 2013; Jones, 1986; Riggs Knight, 1994; Wang, Tsai, Tsai, 2014) and organisational performance (Abraham Carmeli Tishler, 2004; Meglio Risberg, 2011) albeit disjointedly, however, a number of questions about the ... • 3. The Importance Of The Common Law Approach To Negligence In recent years, Queensland has made changes to legislation in this area of law after seeing an increase number of negligent claims. Professional negligence claims include all areas of the health industry, workplace incidents particularly within the building industry, education and personal industry. The statement the common lawapproach to negligenceis all that is needed to effectively regulate this area of law , is not entirely true as a more detailed and harsher approach to negligence, such as legislation, would be greatly beneficial in approaching negligence. Common law is defined as law that has been developed on the basis of preceding rulings by judges. Statutory laws are written laws passed by legislature and government of a country and those which have been accepted by the society. (Diffen, 2017). It is argued that common law is simply not enough to adequately protect Australian citizens in claims of negligence. Hence in courts it could be argued that common law application is unreliable due to the myriad of circumstantial negligent situations. Therefore government intervention provides a safety net for courts to apply legislation to each case. The purpose of this essay [presentation] is to disprove that common law is all that is needed in the interpretation of negligent cases. This will be achieved by examining the legislation and case law. Parliament attempts to cover as many situations within civil law by legislating definition of actions, defenses and ... • 4. Summary Of The Guardian The Guardian For as long as time itself, humans have been weak and fragile, in need of Guardians to watch over them. At birth, a child is given a Guardian, and for the remainder of their short life, that human is protected and guided by an unseen force. These chosen few were fated to watch life pass on without truly experiencing it. They are the lonely sentinels in an everlasting night, watching over a person s dreams for seventy years before watching over another for seventy more, and on and on and on through eternity. Life offers infinite happiness, and thus, those who d hunt for this feeling of pure joy pay with misery Fate collecting the debt and sentencing debtors to death. Every mortal has chosen to trade their bodies on earth simply for the short, sweet taste of life. When that probationary period called mortal life concludes, it is the Guardian that leads the soul out of the confines of the body and to that Afterlife we speculate so much about. In regards to this Afterlife, there is not much that can be said. Not for fear of instigating a war of religions, but more because it is unknown. The Guardians, because of their immortality, are forbidden to enter that place. To understand something is to have power over it, and the Guardians simply cannot comprehend the Afterlife; thus they are like children fearing the dark because they cannot see what lurks within. No one to enter the Afterlife can return to share its secrets with the world. Thus, the only information we ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Imaginary Companions In Child Development Essay Introduction Many children experience a common phenomenon known as the imaginary companion. This usually manifests itself in the creation of an invisible person that they engage in an active relationship with. While many parents are confused about how to approach and relate to their child and their child s imaginary companion they should be assured that the process is quite normal. Imaginary companions are not a sign of mental illness but a normal healthy part of a child s development (Taylor, 1999). Historical View of Imaginary Companions Early research on imaginary companions was deficit focused in nature Some of the earliest research around the beginning of the 1900 s viewed it as a sign of a psychological disorder (Vostrovsky,... Imaginary companions may serve a variety of functions but the particular function they fulfill for each child depends on the wishes and needs of the one who creates them (Hart Zellars, 2006). How did imaginary friends get created? Starting from infancy children start with sensorimotor play which consists of only motor activity (Ungerer, Zelazo, Kearsley, O Leary, 1981). A young child that likes to shake a rattle to hear the sound is engaging in sensorimotor play. Infants also engage in imitation. Imitation is the replication of the activities of another when they can see the activity being done (Frahsek, Mack, Mack, Pfalz Blezinger Knopf, 2010). The child and the type of play they engage in will grows more complex as the child s development advances (Piaget, 1962). As the child grows a little older and starts into the preoperational stage they start engaging in symbolic play. One of the key evidence of being able to engage in symbolic play is by imitating the actions they see others doing after they cannot observe them being done (Fein, 1981). Moreover, the eventual vilification of Burr for his role in Hamilton s demise versus Hamilton s martyrdom for his reckless abandon leads me to identify more with Burr as a victim of fallacious antagonization than Hamilton as an erroneous martyr based on a single precept: one s reputation stems from a series of public judgements void of consideration on individual detriment. We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented (Wiesel). Just like Elie Wiesel mentioned, one must never remain silent when such atrocities are occurring. Although there may be times where one feels powerless to injustices there should never be a time where one fails to protest. Upon further reading, the novel has resilient records of feminism in the protagonists Agatha, Evadne, and Gwennie. The three are emasculated by poverty, neglect, and abuse. Living in a masculinized country the three women refuse to succumb to their struggles of life. These powerless characteristics of the three young women are overcome after immigrating to New York and Canada. The first reflection of feminism is Gatha s life of poverty. The shadow of political tyranny and economic malaise loomed over the country (DoHarris 6)1.Those living in Guyana struggled to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She meets Compton, a Guyanese man returning to pick up his residence papers from the US Embassy, and quickly falls in love, marries him, and moves to New York where he currently resides. Dr. DoHarris expounds that: Not only had Evadne been able to snag a bridegroom, but she secured one who would be able to wisk her off de mudflat, thousands of miles away from the stich by miserable stich existence to which she had thought she was irrevocably wed (39). Nor are Evadne s struggles in New York any less compelling than Gatha s. Indeed, in some ways, they may be more so; for Evadne s relationship with Compton becomes complicated when his former lover Jennifer gives birth to his daughter, Joy; and when Evadne and Compton buy a house from Jennifer s sister the complications erupt with Jennifer shooting and killing Compton (DoHarris qtd in Birbalsingh p.131). Gwennie, like Evadne, struggles with overcoming a past of being sexually abused, not by a stranger or distant relative, but by her father. Once leaving Guyana she never returned, not even when hearing of the death of her mother. Explaining to the narrator, For many years, most often when he came home drunk, my father molested me. • 25. Road King Trucks Case Analysis Essay Abstract This paper is an analysis of Road King Trucks new project which is introducing a new product into its product line. I will decide whether run the project or not. Six issues will be discussed as follows 1) importance of energy cost; 2) project s cash flows; 3) cost of capital; 4) choose an engine 5) evaluation 6) accept or reject. We should accept the project because of the positive NPV and high IRR. We will gain $532 million in wealth which is a big money on the scale like this. The company has a bond rating of AA that makes the risk relatively low. So we should definitely say yes. Issues Importance of Energy Cost Road King Trucks, Inc. is a truck manufacturing company. If we don t run the project, we can sell it and earn $6 million right now. Cost of Capital (see table 2) I used WACC as the discount factor, we expect the rate of return to be higher than it, the same at least. The WACC reflects the average risk and overall capital structureof the entire firm [2]. It s the required return and it presents how much the company pays for the capital it finances. In this case, the cost of equity is 10.33%, the cost of debt is 6.50%. I calculated WACC using those numbers and got a result of 8.49%. Choose an Engine (see table 3) There are two options for engines will be installed on buses. And so are the warranties. The decision should be made according to engines quality, effectiveness, etc. But to investors, cost is the main factor. In this case, Detroit engine has an installation cost of $20,000 and a warranty of $1,000 each year for 5 years; the cost of installation of Marcus engine is $2,000 less but the warranty is $1,500 per year. To figure out the cost I calculated the NPVs of each year for 20 years. The NPVs of the warranties for each bus are same at the year it been produced. For example, the warranty of a Detroit engine has a NPV of $4,276 in the year it been produced. (This method is coming from Mr. Hasse. I used to combine the warranty for each year and use those numbers in calculation.) The NPV of installation cost and warranty of Detroit engine is $252,154, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One day, at our family reunion at the Chesapeake Bay my great grandchildren, came up to me begging for stories. Since I had always been so private about my past, I felt that it was a good time for my family to learn about my past life as a slave. Come here young ones, I shouted, Would you guys like to learn about my former life as a slave? Yes! they kids shouted as they ran over to my rocking chair. My oldest great granddaughter, Ethel, was the first at the rocking chair and she asked, Grandmother, can you tell us about your wedding? That s a great story, Ethel, one of my few fond memories as a slave. To start off, I met Frank in the cookhouse while I was gathering food to bring back to our master s house. He and I were both house servants. My heart stopped when first saw him and I thought he was the most handsome man I had ever seen. On the outside, he was a strong, tough man, but on the inside, I felt that he would be caring and sweet. Later that night, after I had finished my work we met again in the cookhouse. Instantly, we fell for each other and our marriage ceremony was performed two months later. What happened at your wedding? Ethel asked. Frank and I had a fairly traditional slave ceremony. There are specific terms used in this context as such. When talking about a PTA, it should be first made clear that this is an exception the core WTO principle of MFN. Some countries are treated better than others for the purposes of such agreements, as opposed to the MFN status of the WTO, where everybody is treated the same. The first two ways of integration deal with movements of goods and services across borders and WTO commitments. So, to be clear, it is only the FTAs and Customs Unions towards which WTO rules are addressed. The WTO has certain commitments that members agree to, surrounding these preferential trade agreements. On an FTA, where the FTA and customs union are treated under art. XXIV of the GATT, the commitments under the agreements are required that the restrictions on non members cannot be increased. You can eliminate the barriers among your buddies, but you cannot increase the tariffs on non members. With the customs union, since there will be a common policy towards non members, there could be some instances where some good s tariffs go up for a particular member and down for another. So, it is looking at policies as a whole. There will be a requirement for compensation as such. The other expectation is that the restrictions both under the FTA or customs union need to be removed by members on substantially all trade and within a reasonable amount of time. So, the idea is that an FTA or customs union will not be only for the auto industry or only for the agricultural industry, it should be for trade, as a whole. Harris did not appreciate the complexity of the stories nor their potential for a lasting impact on society. The legacy of the African American oral tradition manifests in diverse forms. African American preachers tend to perform rather than simply speak. The emotion of the subject is carried through the speaker s tone, volume, and movement, which tend to mirror the rising action, climax, and descending action of the sermon. Often song, dance, verse, and structured pauses are placed throughout the sermon. Call and response is another pervasive element of the African American oral tradition. It manifests in worship in what is commonly referred to as the amen corner. In direct contrast to recent tradition in other American and Western cultures, it is an acceptable and common audience reaction to interrupt and affirm the speaker. • 41. Religious Authority And The Protestant Reformation During the sixteenth century, numerous conditions and beliefs existed that cause the Protestant Reformation. It was a religious, political, cultural and logical disturbance that had made some Europeans split from the Catholic Church. In northern and central Europe, reformers [such as John Calvin, Henry VIII and most importantly Martin Luther] challenged papal authority and questioned the Catholic Churchs ability to define Christian practice. The tension between the reformers and the church triggered wars, persecutions and the Counter Reformation, also called the Catholic Reformation. Augustine had emphasized that the bible is more a fundamental source for religious authority than the Bible is. He also believed that humans could not reach salvation by their own act, but only God could give salvation by his divine grace. Throughout the Middle Ages, the Catholic Church taught that salvation was achievable through works of righteousness that made God pleased. Martin Luther, born in the year 1483 in Thuringia (Saxony), which is what is now the country of Germany, began to have doubts about the theological basis for much of the daily practices of the Catholic Church. The Rotunda (University of Virginia) build by Thomas Jefferson. The Rotunda was deeply influenced by the Pantheon in Rome and it is to symbolize authority of nature and power of reason . The ideas of building Rotunda uses the same idea of building Pantheon. It is clearly seen that the materials use is very different. Pantheon is constructed by reinforced concrete while Rotunda gives a neat and clean finish of the overall building by using wood and brick. Moving to the interior, it uses a different approach while it is designed. Pantheon is an enclosed big place where the only light source enter is from the eye while Rotunda is built as an mulit story architecture that the light source comes from the windows was in built around the dome. Other examples are like San Antonio, Trieste, build by Pietro Nobile; Church of the Great Mother of God, Turin, build by Ferdinando Bonsignore; Church of San Francesco di Paolo, Naples, build by Pietro Bianchi. Controllable Car Project Paper As the foundation of the project progresses there are several key tasks that must be completed to provide a thorough and feasible concept of a wheelchair accessible and controllable car The foundation of the wheelchair accessible and functional car will be dictated by the needs of the people. The audience that needs to be primarily satisfied are the people who have suffered injuries or in circumstances which do not allow them to have the free mobility by use of their legs. Along with this main group that needs to be accommodated, the car needs to be appropriate for other family members as well. By piecing together, the essential components of the specialized car a conceptual sketch will be first attempted. With this first hand drawn initial idea there will be several iterations with ... • 45. The Second Period I finished weighing in and began to warm up. Same routine as always and soon I was up next. Ankle bands on and ball of my foot on the line. A handshake, a whistle, and the match begins. The first takedown came quicker in this match than it did in the last. I tied up, hand fought, and set up my shots. The match was going my way and I wrestled smart through every scramble, keeping the upper hand. It was the third period and I had a decent lead. I got another takedown and turned him to his back. For a second I swear I had him pinned but the referee was not in position to see it until my opponent was able to put a sliver of space between his shoulder and the mat. The third period came to an end and I got my hand raised for the 40th time that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He was tall, the tallest wrestler in the bracket which was a problem for me since I m short and stocky. Tyler, my wrestlingpartner was six feet tall so that helped me prepare when wrestling taller opponents. Same game plan regardless and the match began. In the first period I got in deep on several shots but he was able to get out of bounds and cause us to reset in the middle of the mat. The second period began and it was my choice of position. Usually I would choose to defer to the second period but since it was 0 0, I chose bottom position. In the event of sudden death overtime the wrestler who scored first gets to choose whether they want to be on top or bottom position. The first overtime would be one minute in the neutral position and if no one scored then it would be two 30 second periods with each wrestler getting a chance at top and bottom position. If it s still tied after that we would go to a 30 second sudden death victory in referee s position, which is the starting position with one wrestler on top and the other on bottom. An escape is more likely than turning and getting back points so that s why I chose to take bottom in the second period. I got the escape quickly and was up 1 0. Escapes were another thing I was really good at. The wrestling club I went to, DC Elite, taught me to be an expert at takedowns and escapes. Becoming an expert at what you re good at will improve you faster ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The networks combine IP with a higher level protocol called Transmission Control Protocol. This protocol establishes an implicit connection between a destination and the origin. Internet Protocol can be correlated to a postal system network. It grants an entity to address a parcel, packet or mail and drop it in the postal system. There is no direct link between the consignor and the recipient. TCP/IP Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol is the primary network communication, language since the mid 1990s. It can be passed down as a communications protocol in a private network. The TCP/IP is a two layered protocol. The Transmission Control Protocol is the higher layer which administers the assembling of a message or file into smaller packets. These packets are transmitted over the Internet. The packets are amassed and reassembled into the primary message after being received by the TCP layer. The Internet Protocol is the lower layer. This layer monitors the address part of each packet so that it gets to the right destination. The TCP/IP establishes an intermediary between two hosts so that they can send messages back and forth for a period of time. Internet Protocol Versions Tout de suite there are two versions of Internet Protocols on the web. The predominant version is IPv4 and a leading edge advanced version which is called IPv6. The IPv6 is an evolutionary enhancement to the Internet ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
