Ownership And Infringement Of Copyrights
Ownership and Infringement of Copyrights
Introduction:
Definition and understanding of Copyrights:
The legal right that is created by enforcement of law by a country that provides the creator of an
original exclusive work rights to use and distribute it, usually for a limited time with the aim of
enabling the initiator to get compensation for their intellect work is known as copyright.
It is a structure of intellectual property such as trademark, a patent or trade secret etc which is relevant
to any form of expressible idea or information that is distinct and important. Copyrights may be used
as shared rights in which more than one person can share the rights of particular patent or trade secret;
people may hold a defined percentage of rights so they are commonly known as rightsholders or rights
in business terminology. The rightsholder have the right to copy, they may also be accredited for the
work, and they may decide who may adapt the work to other forms or who may get financial benefits
from it and other related rights.
Copyrights were primarily framed as a method for government to confine printing. The existing intent
of copyright is to promote the foundation of new works by giving authors and trade person to have
control of and profit from them.
Copyrights are meant to be defensive and territorial, which means that they do not extend outside the
territory of the specific state or boundary unless that state is a party to an international agreement and
laws. In

Formative Reflective Assessment
1. What does formative assessment involve in practice and what are the implications for teachers?
Strategies to implement formative assessment
Role of teacher / Impact on planning
Actively involving students and parents
Possible challenges or barriers of assessment use
Focus questions: Teachers are responsible for creating a set of questions in a specific order which is
used as a tool for evaluating understanding checklist. The teacher initiates the questions with simple
concepts and steadily move towards a complex level, whereas students give answers when asked
individually by the teacher or as a class where visual cue indicates their answer. After this activity
students are assessed based on the answer given against the questions.
A teacher must plan the order of questions in which they ll be asked as well as nature of the content. It
is observed that most of the teachers use constructive approach i e starting from simple questions or
concepts to more abstract questions. The primary role of a teacher is to analyse the understanding
level of a student. This is usually carried out by students response and later examine it with follow up
questions.
Students can actively participate in it through the teacher s technique of manipulating the answering
methodology. For example, students are offered multiple choices of answers and then asked to give a
signal or move based on his selected answer. By doing this activity whole class can be assessed and
later can be grouped based

San Diego Wildfires
San Diego Wildfires: Smoke and Ash Debris a Public Health Concern
San Diego Wildfires
The county of San Diego is a unique haven to hundreds of state and federally recognized endangered,
threatened, or rare plant and animal species (The Nature Conservancy, n.d.). San Diego is also a
territory with a long history of environmentally catastrophic wildfires. The Cedar and Witch Creek
Fires are two of the most recent and notorious wildfires in California history for their degree of
damage in terms of acreage burned and overall expense (The City of San Diego, n.d.). During and
after these massive wildfire events is a significant public health concern related to respiratory health
from the effects of smoke and ash debris. The challenges presented in mitigating and managing these
health issues extends into county budget, public education, and cohesive multi agency prevention and
recovery efforts. Moreover, participatory efforts from the residents of San Diego County is key to the
success of mitigating health risks presented by wildfire smoke and ash debris (Phillips, 2009, p. 420).
Background
The Cedar Fire (2003) was one of the largest and deadliest wildland fires in California history burning
nearly 300,000 acres in San Diego County and killing 15, including 1 firefighter. A lost hiker
accidently set this fire from survival methods attempted with a flare. It resulted in evacuations of
thousands of San Diego residents and destroyed approximately 2400 homes (CALFIRE, 2016). The

Quentin Skinner Essay
Up for Interpretation or What is This Thing that Hearsay Is Not? is a journal article about how an
using the argument of another author in one s work is fine as long as it is an interpretation of the
original author s work. Quentin Skinner and Christopher Ricks have different backgrounds in
academia and therefore have different approaches to their common claim. Although both authors have
the same claim, they approach it from different angles and are able to analyze texts differently.
Quentin Skinner s main argument is that the act of interpretation principally consists in trying to
identify the nature of the intervention that some given text may be said to constitute (Skinner 1).
Skinner is a historian of belief systems prevailing in early modern Europe and treats adaptations as
contributions to preexisting texts. Co author Christopher Ricks has a different main argument than
Skinner. Ricks main argument is about texts and editing and exactly what was written (Ricks 5). Ricks
forms his argument from a literary viewpoint rather than a philosophical viewpoint like his co author
Skinner. Skinner develops his claim by referring to Machiavelli s The Prince. He analyzes how
Machiavelli quotes Cicero s argument and challenges it. Skinner states what is required is nothing

He says that they re very clear about their belief that there is no way in which the invoking of an
author s intention could contribute to judging a work of literature . This applies to Ricks literary
viewpoint because he analyzes how the way something is judged depends on how the reader interprets
it. Ricks also supports his argument by analyzing Samuel Beckett s Ceiling . Ricks discusses how the
writing is difficult to understand textually because it is an interpretative crux and doesn t arrive at a
proof. Therefore, Wimsatt and Beardsley s argument is original because of its

Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza H5N1
The Disease: Highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1, is a single strand negative sense influenza A
virus that causes disease in birds, humans, and various other animals. It was first discovered in Hong
Kong in 1996 after an outbreak among geese that caused high mortality rates. In 1997 the first human
cases were detected. Out of 18 confirmed cases, 6 people died, causing global concern (Petsko, 2005).
After a brief period in which the virus seemed to dissipate, it re emerged in 2003 affecting poultry and
wild birds in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. Since 2003 it has caused more than 700

Liar Liar Essay
Stephen Glass was a young writer whose misinformation and fabrications, although found humorous
by his co workers, swayed the public opinion and effected many lives; including his. Like many
professionals, Mr. Glass was skilled at what he did. He was a valued by his colleagues and had an
almost unbreakable bond with them. All was well and dandy at The New Republic till Mr. Glass s
career came crashing down on his face like the twin towers of 9 11. Most of his work at The New
Republic was falsified. He lied to himself, his boss, his co workers, and the public. With the
mendacity of course comes terrible and sometimes life altering consequences. One might ask these
questions. Why did Mr. Glass lie? What did he lie about? And what ... Show more content on

The effect of this ludicrous act reminds me of the story of the boy who cried wolf. It was a story of a
young shepherd whose lies brought about his downfall. The young boy was very protective of his herd
and so people of the village told him that at the sight of a wolf trying to attack his sheep that he should
cry wolf. At first the young shepherd puts his alarm to a test by falsely crying wolf. The villagers came
running to his aide only to find that the boy was trifling with them. The second time he cries, wolf!
Wolf! and the villagers once again came running and the boy laughs. However, the third time the
young shepherd spots a real wolf, he cried, wolf! Wolf! but this time in his disappointment nobody
came running to his rescue. When Mr. Glass was caught in his lies, his career as he knew it, was
flushed down the commode. So you see, lying in fact does come back to bite that chunk out of your
cheek
Finally, after Mr. Glass was fired he had nothing to fall back on except to continue his education at the
law schools he attends most evenings. All because of numerous lies and cover ups. In contrast to this,
Bill Clinton, our former President lied about his affairs with the Monica Lewinsky, an Intern at the
White House. On August 17, 1998, an online article stated that William Jefferson Clinton swore to tell

Chris Sheldrake, but you would also see some of the same aesthetics in the opening title sequence of
The Dark Knight. All art forms feed of each other and by using three movies and their corresponding

summer of 2011, when he met the Philippine President Benigno Aquino. Specifically, the Chinese
Foreign Ministry website explains as follows; the concept of setting aside dispute and pursuing joint
development has the following four elements: 1) The sovereignty of the territories concerned belongs
to China, 2) when conditions are not ripe to bring about a thorough solution to territorial dispute,
discussion on the issue of sovereignty may be postponed so that the dispute is set aside. To set aside
dispute does not mean giving up sovereignty. 3) the territories under dispute may be developed in a
joint way, and 4) the purpose of joint development is to enhance mutual understanding through
cooperation and create conditions for the eventual resolution of territorial ownership.
Moving on to Vietnam, according to a study conducted by the Center for Naval Analyses and the
Institute for Public Research, Vietnamese official position regarding its sovereignty claims to the

The Portrayal Of The Young Black Men And Public Space
Imagine being wrongfully persecuted and mistreated based on assumptions painted by society. The
portrayal of the young black male in the late 1980s has not changed much in the United States. Brent
Staples is able to reveal the truths of racial stereotyping in the United States, and the stigmas placed on
young black males with the use of imagery in Black Men and Public Space. Appealing to the readers
senses allows for better understanding of the time period Staples is writing about. Visual imagery is
used to contrast how Staples appears to his victims and how these victims appear to the public. The
fear the general public has of black males is exposed by appealing to the auditory senses. Non verbal
reactions and body language of those around Staples uncovers their true sentiment towards black
males. Imagery is an essential tool in uncovering the racism and stigmatization of black males in the
United States. Appealing to ones senses is a very effective way to bring depth and meaning to a
message. The text begins by setting the scene with a description of where Staples interacted with his
first victim. Staples innocently walks, on a deserted street in ... a relatively affluent neighbourhood,
that is near an impoverished area. This may have been his first mistake, as a young black male at, a

Process Essay On Firearms Evidence
Do you know what the steps are when it comes to processing firearms evidence? Do you know what
you should not do when picking up a firearm at a crime scene? Do you know what the steps are to safe
handling of firearms found at crime scenes? Have you ever heard what information can be obtained

Do you know what the steps are when it comes to processing firearms evidence? The first step to
processing a firearm as evidence is to put gloves on your hands. Then you should take pictures of the
gun when you find it at the crime scene. Make sure the picture is as clear as possible because it will be
used in the court room. Make sure you included some form of measuring the gun that is in the picture.
Next, take the bullets out of the gun and put the bullets in a line. Take a picture of it so the court can

Claude Monet Accomplishments
Through a series of solid strokes of paint in his canvas, Monet managed to present society with a
completely new outlook, literally, on one s visual aspect. Claude Oscar Monet, famous French painter,
was a highly innovative artist back in the 1800s. His works inspired other artists who followed suite
and teamed up promptly with Monet, soon enough gaining for themselves the title of The
Impressionists. He contributed not only to the art culture, but also to the entirety of society through his
paintings as if telling the world not to be afraid of anything different and emphasized the importance
to look at things with deeper perception other than that which our vision enables us to see. Claude

The painting Impression: Sunrise, or Impression: Soleil Levant, was what brought Monet his greatest
success. It hung in the first Impressionist exhibition in 1874 and is now displayed in the Musée
Marmottan Moret, Paris (Biography 2). Even though this was not his first or best painting it is the one
that has left the most mark, for it was the initial spark for Impressionism. It was this success that
earned him and other fellow artists the title of the Impressionists. Monet began to earn great amounts
of money and was able to move out to his dream home in Giverny. Monet s fortunes began to change
for the better as his dealer Paul Durand Ruel had increasing success in selling his paintings
(Biography 2). Money might not always be everything, but his profit was what enabled Monet to
move further ahead. Monet s further gain in income allowed him to find his perfect home and travel
more, making him more known to others. If it hadn t been because of Monet s success, the world we

Analysis Of Amy Chua s Battle Hymn Of The Tiger Mother
The Tiger Mother Way
Amy Chua s book Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother brings up much room for debate and controversy
for arguments whether Chinese parents do a better job than their Western counterparts. Chua s
parenting methods are most commonly described as stereotypical way every Chinese child is raised.
She explains in further detail how she raised her two daughters Sophia and Louisa and why she
believed in the tiger mother way. Although Chua s children became successful adults, she made both
good and bad parenting decisions. She was unfairly harsh and critical; however, she is a successful
parent in the aspect that she did teach her children many useful life skills such as not giving up easily
and how to excel academically.
Amy Chua was very harsh on her daughters. Chua not only once refused to let her daughter Louisa eat
but also to take a bathroom break(PC) during their music recitals (Chua 62). This is most certainly by
far one of the most overbearing(voc) and extreme parenting techniques Chua practices on her children,
Chua has very little tolerance for mediocracy and would turn away a home made birthday card her
very own daughter made for her if she thought they had not put enough effort into it. This shows that
she has a cold and very bold stance against weaknesses and lackluster effort. Amy Chua by nature is a
competitive person and everything is compared to or ranked. She was raised by

Essay on media avoidance
In my everyday life I use all sorts of media, they range from cable television, Internet, radio, and the

that I was straying I decided to go and get another movie from the video store. I got the movie The

Revolution in Cosmology Resolves Dispute over Universe s Age
Revolution in Cosmology Resolves Dispute over Universe s Age
Just under seven years ago, astronomers using the Hubble space telescope presented results they
hoped would help answer one of the most contentious issues in astronomy of the 20th century the
question of the distance scale of the universe. But there was some unease when the result was
announced. According to the report, other galaxies were close enough that, extrapolating backwards
from their current rate of recession and making adjustments for the influence of gravity, they all would
have been together (that is, the Big Bang would have occurred) as recently as 8 billion years ago.
Unfortunately, there was strong evidence already in place that some stars were at least 12 15 ... Show

This problem wasn t solved until the 1920s, when Edwin Hubble devised the first method of
extragalactic distance measurement. His technique relied on stars known as Cepheid variables, whose
luminosities can be easily determined by measuring their rates of pulsation. Comparing this
luminosity with the stars observed brightness allowed Hubble to estimate the distance to Cepheid stars
in such galaxies, affirming their extragalactic location.
That the universe extended beyond the Milky Way was already widely surmised, and this discovery
didn t change much. The revolution came when Hubble compared these newfound distances with the
velocities of galaxies, which can be determined by measuring their color spectra. To his surprise, he
found the two to be nearly linearly correlated, leading to the conclusion that every galaxy is receding
from every other galaxy, and the universe as a whole is expanding.
How does this relate to the age and origin of the universe? The principle is really quite simple: if the
velocity and distance to most galaxies are known, one can extrapolate their motion backward to find
the time that they were all compressed together at the moment of the universe s origin, the Big Bang.
The duration between then and now is the universe s age. Of course, a simple linear extrapolation won

The Analysis On Ephesians Prefacing The Book The Bible ...
In the ESV study bible, the authors wrote an excerpt on Ephesians prefacing the author, title, date,
background information, and a description of the ancient city of Ephesus. Relating to the author of
Ephesians all scholars believed that Paul wrote the letter, until recent times where many scholars
propose that an imitator or a follower of Paul wrote the letter. The scholars give two reasons for this
theory, the first is the letter s style does not represent Pauline thought, and the second being the
authors unfamiliarity with the recipients. In contrast, some scholars say there is ample proof of Pauline
authorship; the first reason is the letter explicitly claims to be Paul s in Ephesians 1:1 and 3:1, and the
second reason subsists in more analysis of the text and that it is similar to other Pauline texts. The
final argument for Pauline authorship is the forcefulness of the author s speech mentioned in
Ephesians 4:15, and verse 25. In these two verses, the argument that the author is unfamiliar with the
audience stands debunked because the author commands of them and the author addresses the unity
they all possess. Secondly, an important historical component for understanding the context of
Ephesians is to know the date it is written and background information of why Paul wrote the letter.
Scholars suggest that Paul wrote Ephesians in 62 AD when he was under house arrest in Rome, this
conclusion comes from Paul mentioning his imprisonment in Ephesians 3:1, 4:1, and 6:20.

consequence an awareness within the non Jewish, French population and generated a solidarity toward
the Jews to protect them from the arrests especially children
In Paris and in the rest of France, about 80% of Jewish children survived the war. Some 10,000 of
them remained alive thanks to the mobilization of their parents, the support of organizations to rescue
Jews, the Jewish resistance groups the French resistance and the active solidarity of Parisians
Among the important Jewish communities in Europe was France who managed to save the greatest
number of children 84% of Jewish children. This was mainly due to the active sympathy of the non

The Transition And Opening Up And Growth Of The Service...

Studies on China Economy
Victor Alberto Han Zou
2014059013 The Transition and Opening up and Growth of the Service Sector of China
Abstract
The objective of this paper is to show the transition of China from an economy dominated by the
manufacturing to a more stable economy dominated by services. In recent years, many people were
thinking about why the GDP (gross domestic product) of China has drop drastically from 11% to 7%.
Well, that is an intentional cooling down that the country is doing to make the transition from
industrial to service sector also known as tertiary industry . Through many years, the industrial sector
was the one that contributed more to the GDP of the country; but now, China is changing this to a
more stable and sustainable economy by opening up its service sector and the 12th Five Year Plan of
China (2011 2015) is helping to accomplish this task. In 2013, for the first time of the history the
service sector overpass the industrial sector in the contribution to the GDP.
Key words: Transition, Gross Domestic Product, Industrial Sector, Tertiary Industry, and Sustainable
Economy.
I. Introduction
Since 1978 when Deng Xiaoping took away the centrally planned economy and introduced the
capitalistic market reform, China has witnessed tremendous transitions and growth. This tremendous
growth lasted for 30 years. Between 1983 and 2013, the GDP of China has an annual grow of 10.2%.
Also, China has transformed from a sleeping rural, to a giant

Gay Justice In Plato s Encouragement For Gay Rights
Plato s Encouragement for Gay Rights
In Plato s Republic, several competing explanations of justice are offered. First, we hear
Thrasymachus s account of justice in Book I, as being the advantage of the stronger. We then receive
Glaucon s explanation of justice in Book II: the agreement between men to act just in order to avoid
the pain of being on the receiving end of an unjust act. Finally, Socrates provides us with the best
definition of justice, saying that justice is the result of three specific classes performing their function
within a city in order for the collaboration to conclude in self sufficiency. Socrates s definition of
justice outshines those of Thrasymachus and Glaucon because he takes into account that not every
person is the same, but everyone is equal. Socrates s refutations of both Thrasymachus and Glaucon
help completely shape his argument of what justice is when it comes to Book 4. Socrates made his
definition of justice general enough to where it accounted for everyone in the city. As long as
everyone performed the duty they were naturally capable of, they were just.
I am taking three explanations of justice mentioned in Plato s Republic to talk about the injustice
toward the gay community and my personal encounter of the unjust society with being seriously
involved with a woman of color. Ever since I was little, I knew I was attracted to the same sex, but I
remained too afraid to act on my feelings. I desperately desired to be accepted and considered

The Godfather And The Freshm Scene Analysis
Another fact about the cafe scene is the design of how it is all laid out. Design is the process by which
the look of the setting, props, lighting, and actors is determined. (Barsam Monahan 495).It is
important to incorporate how the characters, lighting and set help design and distinguish this scene in
The Freshman. First it is important to compare the lighting between both films The Godfather and The
Freshman. In the beginning of The Godfather film the viewers are introduced to Don Vito in his office

any type of compensation to new customers or transferred prescriptions until October 2008. Walgreens
customers receive an average of four prescriptions on a monthly basis from the pharmacy (WAG
Annual Reports, 2007). With 65% of the sales revenue of the company coming from the pharmacy,
Walgreens declines to bargain with out of pocket customers over price. Regardless of a climbing
prescription drug price trend, demand remains elastic because customers demand choices of similar,
less expensive medications if authorized by their doctor. The amount of reimbursement Walgreens
receives from Medicare, Medicaid, and Worker s Compensation falls drastically, as incremental
revenues from those sources decreases (Stewart, 2006). According to Lueck, Medicare and Medicaid
comprise 25 percent of the federal budget, and the government cannot afford to spend at the current
rate (Lueck, 2008). In order to maintain relationships with customers, retail pharmacies resorted to
buying sections of Medicare Part D insurance companies: AARP Walgreens vs. CVS Caremark

Pursuit Of Happyness Compare And Contrast Essay
Dream Chaser
What drives you? What keeps your motivation flowing? The gripping story of Chris Gardner will
surely spark a fire to the success you desire. The Pursuit of Happyness is a book that also inspired the
self titled movie. These two works have the ultimate story of triumph and self perseverance. With both
works being released in 2006, both number one seller for their respective audiences; they did carry
many similarities and differences. Discussing each work, I will compare and contrast both works with
the theme, settings, and characters and navigate the overall message they provide.

This is an influential point for both book and movie because it has the effect of showing how both
mothers are in and out of their child s life but yet the father reminds to keep everything together.
Basing character tendencies on how the mothers leave and the main character (father) with stay. Yet
the movie does not detail this information but is evident to the abandonment of his actual wife at one
point in the film. In the film, the wife leaves at the one hour mark (film time). The film keeps their
focus off the wife/mother to put more power in the struggle of Gardner s life as a father. In contrast,
the film The Pursuit of Happyness featured the bigger picture of the actual story. More so the theme
that Chris Gardner conveyed in the book. The film goes from struggling married couple with a son, to
a struggling single father chasing the ultimate dream of successfulness. The difference from the book
is that Chris Gardner and his wife were together on and off. They struggle to make the relationship
work but have differences in what they want to pursue.
In the chapter Turned Out (advanced), the wife reappears after leaving the relationship and they still
continue having problems. While I had thought that my trip to meet my father would give me and
Jackie [wife] the break we needed to appreciate each other more and help put everything in
perspective, the stress picked up exactly where it had been before. (Gardner 192). After trying to give

`` The Custom House `` By Nathaniel Hawthorne
Journal Entry 1: The Custom House Romanticism is the movement in literature that emphasizes
inspiration, selfhood, and the authority of the individual. The purpose of The Custom House is that it
provides the framework for the main idea of The Scarlet Letter and it also describes Hawthorne s life.
The narrator, who shares similar traits with Nathaniel Hawthorne, takes a post as the chief executive
officer, or surveyor, of the Salem Custom House. The author s attitude toward his former job is that
the building extremely run down and the Custom House serves the small ship traffic going through the
port, but it is usually a quiet place requiring only minimal work. Hawthorne describes his fellow
workers as elderly and have been working at the Custom House their how lives. The only reason why
they are there is through family connections and they repeatedly tell the stories. So, what I take from
this is that he did not like his old job, the reason being is that he only speaks negative about everything
relating to his former job. Hawthorne addresses the reader directly and it causes an effect by showing
that he s trying to connect with all sorts of people. He describes the letter as scarlet, gold embroidered
piece of cloth in the shape of the letter A . Which makes me feel that if they put all that time into
making it look nice, that there is some type of importance related to it.

All of the characters at one point in the movie was using their hands when they were talking to
someone to help get their point across. Using their hands also got the emotional point across. Like
when Elsa told her sister to drop the subject about marrying because she was getting agitated ( you
could see it through her non verbal communication) which would mean her power would come out.
Her sister did not listen to her so Elsa got mad and threw her hands down and that s when everyone
sees what she can do. When Else makes the ice circle around her sister facial expression showed that
she was very confused. When Anna meets Hangs you can see in the scene where they both fall into the
boat that they both have that love look in their eyes toward each other. When Elsa is in front of
everyone and getting introduced and they introduce Anna and someone pushes Anna closer to Elsa
because she was afraid Elsa did not want to be next to her in her personal space. Elsa has a lot of
feared self concept and ideal self concept. She doesn t want to have the gift she was given. She thinks
it is a curse. She thinks if should would not have the gift then it would make her normal just like

My love for music is rooted in the solid musical foundation my parents set for me. From taking me to

Essay on Technology in the film Tron
Technology in the film Tron
Introduction
The purpose of my project is to discover how technology is represented within the film Tron. To
answer this research question, I viewed and analyzed the movie and incorporated information from the
text and various websites. While studying this film, I took into consideration factors such as images
and language used, how technology is related to society, and what symbols the creator used to convey
certain qualities of technology. In this research paper, I will begin by explaining the significance of
this project and my areas of research. I will then relay the focus of my investigation, the methods I

This description led me to believe that the outlook of technology at the time, when the Internet was
just being introduced to the public, was fear. People feared the unknown power of the new technology
of computers. Tron is a story of man battling his own creations, which represents technology as a
powerful force with destructive capabilities.
I am interested in this project because I have always liked science fiction/fantasy movies. I like to
think about the possibilities that technology holds for our future. I am also interested in how
technology influences our culture. I was in high school when this movie came out and had limited
access to computers at that time. I wasn t concerned with the impact of new computer technology
then, but remember hearing people say that machines would someday run the world. For example, I
worked for a grocery store in the 1980s and remember other employees worrying that new machines
were being developed that would replace the cashiers, and we would all be out of a job. I think this
movie would probably have a bigger impact now that computers are such a large part of our everyday
lives. Artificial intelligence is still a popular theme for science fiction movies, so people must like to
consider it a possibility. I ve read that there is a possible sequel to the movie

My Most Unforgettable Week Of My Life
POW! I dive left to go for the save. The game had just ended and we were now in the penalty
shootout. I had to make so many saves in the game to get us to a PK shootout. Back in March, my
parents signed me up for the soccer camp with a friend. Last year my parents won a ticket for the
soccer camp, at first I did not want to go but since the camp was full and there were no other tickets I
had to go so I did. After the first two days I really liked the camp, by the end of it I realized that it
would have been more fun with a friend. This year we got a friend that could go to it this time. There
were supposed to be three of us, but one of the friend s parent forgot to sign their kid into the camp.
This was my most unforgettable week of my life because this was just such a good camp, plus I got
one of my highlights of my goalie career to me. The camp that I went to was at Dail soccer/track
complex at NC State University. It had a baseball field right next to it with a camp going on for
softball. It also took place on the other two fields across the street, yet there is a tunnel underneath the
street that we took. For the games for overtime it did not work the same as normal we went straight to
the penalty shootout, instead of having two overtime periods. This week happened to me because my
parents were able to sign me up for the camp. My parents learned about the camp from last year. They
had won a ticket into the camp and since it was sold out my parents looked at the web page for it to
see what it was about and thought I would enjoy it, so I went to it. On the first day of camp we went
and filled everything out so I could have fun and any insurance for the camp, I don t know I went to
the camp to have fun I did not pay any attention to the signing in anything else to start the camp. After
that, I went and found my group I was supposed to be in which turned out to be the second goalie
group. In the second goalie group, we were more like a group of people that have some problems with
ourselves. Most of the people in our group would talk when our coach talked or wanted them to pay
attention. Then there were the other people, like me, in the group who wanted to get as far as possible

A Statistical Test Essay
We live in a scientific world were the results of published research findings can dictate our very
existence. Yet, there is an increasing body of evidence that suggest that most publish research findings
are false (Ioannidis, 2005 page 0696). How can this be true? Part1: According to Ioannidis (2005), the
pre study probability of a relationship being true is R/ (R + 1). Where R is the ratio of the number of
true relationships to no relationships among those tested in the field (page 0696). The Null Hypothesis
(Ho) is what you want to disprove, what you want to prove to be not true. The Alternative hypothesis
(HA) on the other hand is what you want to prove to be true. Thus, in scientific research we are
looking to prove that relationships are true or to prove that they are not true. The power of a statistical
test is defined as the ability of the test to lead to a conclusion to accept the HA when in fact, the HA is
true (Wirtz, 2013). Also, since the probability of a statistical study depends on the prior probability,
statistical power, and the level of the observed P value, it means that the probability of a study finding
a true relationship is the power of 1 β (one type two error (Ioannidis, 2005 page 0696). Also, type 1
error is the probability of incorrectly rejecting a null hypothesis that should not be rejected (Wirtz,
2013). Factors that negatively affect the probability of true relationships are small studies, smaller
effect sizes, in a scientific field,

The And Other Peoples Of Mexico And Their Home Countries...
Unfortunately for the Zapotecs and other indigenous peoples, migration to the US does not bring an
end to the structural and symbolic violence they must face. Unlike the systemic pressure present in
Mexico and their home countries, Indigenous groups face societal pressures not only from migrant
mestizos but from the dominant Anglo population of the United States. From their mestizo
countrymen, they generally experience a less intense form of the violence from the home country.
Generally, these include shame of public displays of their languages and racial insults. From the Anglo
population, Indigenous groups are often misidentified and grouped within the broader Hispanic
identity, not understanding that they are a different cultural group. To fit a mold that has been pushed
upon them, Indigenous peoples are pressured to adopt multiple identities. In accordance to the US
system of ethnic classification, Zapotecs identify as ethnically Mexican, followed by their regional
identity as Oaxaquenos (Oaxaca region of Mexico), and as lastly as Yalalag Zapotecs (Cruz Manjarrez
pg.126). But by juggling multiple identities, Zapotecs and other indigenous groups have both gained
both negative and positive aspects of themselves. By being labeled as Mexicans, Zapotecs and other
Mexican indigenous groups can take pride in a nationality they have been denied for so long. As
Oaxaquenos, there is a recognition of a broader pan indigenous identity in Latin America. For Yalalag

Complication of Amputation and Edema
Title Here Amputation is the general term describing a condition of disability resulting from the
deliberate surgical removal of a part of the body, a limb, or part of a limb (Bowker Michael, 1992).
Limb loss can be a congenital condition, the result of traumatic injury, or a surgical procedure to treat
disease (Clawson, 2009). Clawson posits that the majority of amputations in the United States are the
result of vascular disease caused by diabetes (p. 393). In cases of traumatic amputation, adjustment
and adaptation is more difficult than for people who have had time to prepare, such as may occur with
diabetes. Amputations may be performed at any level in the upper extremities such as the digits, the
hand, or the arm, or in the lower extremities such as the toes, the foot, or the leg. Appropriate
rehabilitation is a vital element to helping people with lower limb amputation learn to walk and
function again and live high quality lives (Hanley et al., 2004).
Literature Review
In the United States, the majority of amputations are performed in order to treat complications of
peripheral vascular disease; the greater numbers involve the lower limbs (Clawson, 2009). According
to Bowker and Michael (1992), disease is the most frequent reason for amputation in adults age 50 or
older, while trauma is the usual cause of amputation in younger individuals. Marshall and Stansby
(2008) include malignant tumor, uncontrollable acute or chronic infection, congenital deformity,

Knowledge Management is an organization s methodology of making their intellectual assets as fully
functional, or effective as possible. This is a systematic approach organized to enhance understanding.
It s the managing of information in a way that provides an organization with a competitive advantage.
Information Systems can be summed in three words: technology, people, and process. Information
Systems is a group of interrelated components that first start with the technology, which includes:
hardware, software, and infrastructure. People are also included and they are the trained personnel. To
put the system together would be the process, which includes combining the trained personnel to work
together to support decision making and provide a value to an organization.
Organizational Learning has two main parts. First, it is manifested by shared ideas in an organization.
Then the shared ideas are developed into a common meaning by the organization. Organizations learn
by the interaction in a collective setting.
A High Performance Team is a group of people that molds together their skills in order to strengthen
performance results. The group members commit to a common purpose and are in line with one

  • 4. Formative Reflective Assessment 1. What does formative assessment involve in practice and what are the implications for teachers? Strategies to implement formative assessment Role of teacher / Impact on planning Actively involving students and parents Possible challenges or barriers of assessment use Focus questions: Teachers are responsible for creating a set of questions in a specific order which is used as a tool for evaluating understanding checklist. The teacher initiates the questions with simple concepts and steadily move towards a complex level, whereas students give answers when asked individually by the teacher or as a class where visual cue indicates their answer. After this activity students are assessed based on the answer given against the questions. A teacher must plan the order of questions in which they ll be asked as well as nature of the content. San Diego Wildfires San Diego Wildfires: Smoke and Ash Debris a Public Health Concern San Diego Wildfires The county of San Diego is a unique haven to hundreds of state and federally recognized endangered, threatened, or rare plant and animal species (The Nature Conservancy, n.d.). San Diego is also a territory with a long history of environmentally catastrophic wildfires. The Cedar and Witch Creek Fires are two of the most recent and notorious wildfires in California history for their degree of damage in terms of acreage burned and overall expense (The City of San Diego, n.d.). During and after these massive wildfire events is a significant public health concern related to respiratory health from the effects of smoke and ash debris. The challenges presented in mitigating and managing these health issues extends into county budget, public education, and cohesive multi agency prevention and recovery efforts. Moreover, participatory efforts from the residents of San Diego County is key to the success of mitigating health risks presented by wildfire smoke and ash debris (Phillips, 2009, p. 420). Background The Cedar Fire (2003) was one of the largest and deadliest wildland fires in California history burning nearly 300,000 acres in San Diego County and killing 15, including 1 firefighter. It resulted in evacuations of thousands of San Diego residents and destroyed approximately 2400 homes (CALFIRE, 2016). The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Quentin Skinner Essay Up for Interpretation or What is This Thing that Hearsay Is Not? is a journal article about how an using the argument of another author in one s work is fine as long as it is an interpretation of the original author s work. Quentin Skinner and Christopher Ricks have different backgrounds in academia and therefore have different approaches to their common claim. Although both authors have the same claim, they approach it from different angles and are able to analyze texts differently. Quentin Skinner s main argument is that the act of interpretation principally consists in trying to identify the nature of the intervention that some given text may be said to constitute (Skinner 1). Skinner is a historian of belief systems prevailing in early modern Europe and treats adaptations as contributions to preexisting texts. Co author Christopher Ricks has a different main argument than Skinner. Ricks main argument is about texts and editing and exactly what was written (Ricks 5). Ricks forms his argument from a literary viewpoint rather than a philosophical viewpoint like his co author Skinner. Skinner develops his claim by referring to Machiavelli s The Prince. He analyzes how Machiavelli quotes Cicero s argument and challenges it. Skinner states what is required is nothing more than an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All was well and dandy at The New Republic till Mr. Glass s career came crashing down on his face like the twin towers of 9 11. Most of his work at The New Republic was falsified. It was a story of a young shepherd whose lies brought about his downfall. The young boy was very protective of his herd and so people of the village told him that at the sight of a wolf trying to attack his sheep that he should cry wolf. At first the young shepherd puts his alarm to a test by falsely crying wolf. The villagers came running to his aide only to find that the boy was trifling with them. The second time he cries, wolf! Wolf! and the villagers once again came running and the boy laughs. However, the third time the young shepherd spots a real wolf, he cried, wolf! Wolf! but this time in his disappointment nobody came running to his rescue. When Mr. Glass was caught in his lies, his career as he knew it, was flushed down the commode. So you see, lying in fact does come back to bite that chunk out of your cheek Finally, after Mr. Glass was fired he had nothing to fall back on except to continue his education at the law schools he attends most evenings. All because of numerous lies and cover ups. In contrast to this, Bill Clinton, our former President lied about his affairs with the Monica Lewinsky, an Intern at the White House. When suddenly you hear CUT! , and find yourself on a movie set, watching a scene that just get shot, back in the real world. That feeling you experienced, surrendering yourself, your senses is called suspension of disbelief. The willingness to suspend one s critical facilities and believe the unbelievable. This disbelief is not in used in film but in art as well. The scene described above is from a piece called London s Burning by Chris Sheldrake, but you would also see some of the same aesthetics in the opening title sequence of The Dark Knight. All art forms feed of each other and by using three movies and their corresponding pieces of art, I will illustrate the influence that each of these individual images had on their respective films. How art inspires cinema. The Dark Knight was the second entry in The Dark Knight Trilogy directed by Christopher Nolan. He is an English film director, screenwriter, and producer. One of the highest grossing directors in history, and among the most acclaimed filmmakers in the 21st century. • 11. The Chinese Foreign Ministry Website summer of 2011, when he met the Philippine President Benigno Aquino. Specifically, the Chinese Foreign Ministry website explains as follows; the concept of setting aside dispute and pursuing joint development has the following four elements: 1) The sovereignty of the territories concerned belongs to China, 2) when conditions are not ripe to bring about a thorough solution to territorial dispute, discussion on the issue of sovereignty may be postponed so that the dispute is set aside. To set aside dispute does not mean giving up sovereignty. 3) the territories under dispute may be developed in a joint way, and 4) the purpose of joint development is to enhance mutual understanding through cooperation and create conditions for the eventual resolution of territorial ownership. Moving on to Vietnam, according to a study conducted by the Center for Naval Analyses and the Institute for Public Research, Vietnamese official position regarding its sovereignty claims to the South China Sea islands was first brought about in a White Paper published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1974. Like China, Vietnam also insists ownership over all of the Paracel (or Hoang Sa, as people call) and Spratly (Truong Sa) islands based on several factors including 1) historical evidence and 2) economic advantages. The portrayal of the young black male in the late 1980s has not changed much in the United States. Brent Staples is able to reveal the truths of racial stereotyping in the United States, and the stigmas placed on young black males with the use of imagery in Black Men and Public Space. Appealing to the readers senses allows for better understanding of the time period Staples is writing about. Visual imagery is used to contrast how Staples appears to his victims and how these victims appear to the public. The fear the general public has of black males is exposed by appealing to the auditory senses. Non verbal reactions and body language of those around Staples uncovers their true sentiment towards black males. Imagery is an essential tool in uncovering the racism and stigmatization of black males in the United States. Appealing to ones senses is a very effective way to bring depth and meaning to a message. The text begins by setting the scene with a description of where Staples interacted with his first victim. Staples innocently walks, on a deserted street in ... a relatively affluent neighbourhood, that is near an impoverished area. Claude Oscar Monet, famous French painter, was a highly innovative artist back in the 1800s. His works inspired other artists who followed suite and teamed up promptly with Monet, soon enough gaining for themselves the title of The Impressionists. He contributed not only to the art culture, but also to the entirety of society through his paintings as if telling the world not to be afraid of anything different and emphasized the importance to look at things with deeper perception other than that which our vision enables us to see. It hung in the first Impressionist exhibition in 1874 and is now displayed in the Musée Marmottan Moret, Paris (Biography 2). Even though this was not his first or best painting it is the one that has left the most mark, for it was the initial spark for Impressionism. It was this success that earned him and other fellow artists the title of the Impressionists. Monet began to earn great amounts of money and was able to move out to his dream home in Giverny. Monet s fortunes began to change for the better as his dealer Paul Durand Ruel had increasing success in selling his paintings (Biography 2). Money might not always be everything, but his profit was what enabled Monet to move further ahead. Monet s further gain in income allowed him to find his perfect home and travel more, making him more known to others. • 17. Analysis Of Amy Chua s Battle Hymn Of The Tiger Mother The Tiger Mother Way Amy Chua s book Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother brings up much room for debate and controversy for arguments whether Chinese parents do a better job than their Western counterparts. Chua s parenting methods are most commonly described as stereotypical way every Chinese child is raised. She explains in further detail how she raised her two daughters Sophia and Louisa and why she believed in the tiger mother way. Although Chua s children became successful adults, she made both good and bad parenting decisions. She was unfairly harsh and critical; however, she is a successful parent in the aspect that she did teach her children many useful life skills such as not giving up easily and how to excel academically. Amy Chua was very harsh on her daughters. Chua not only once refused to let her daughter Louisa eat but also to take a bathroom break(PC) during their music recitals (Chua 62). This is most certainly by far one of the most overbearing(voc) and extreme parenting techniques Chua practices on her children, Chua has very little tolerance for mediocracy and would turn away a home made birthday card her very own daughter made for her if she thought they had not put enough effort into it. This shows that she has a cold and very bold stance against weaknesses and lackluster effort. Amy Chua by nature is a competitive person and everything is compared to or ranked. She was raised by ... Revolution in Cosmology Resolves Dispute over Universe s Age Revolution in Cosmology Resolves Dispute over Universe s Age Just under seven years ago, astronomers using the Hubble space telescope presented results they hoped would help answer one of the most contentious issues in astronomy of the 20th century the question of the distance scale of the universe. But there was some unease when the result was announced. According to the report, other galaxies were close enough that, extrapolating backwards from their current rate of recession and making adjustments for the influence of gravity, they all would have been together (that is, the Big Bang would have occurred) as recently as 8 billion years ago. Unfortunately, there was strong evidence already in place that some stars were at least 12 15 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This problem wasn t solved until the 1920s, when Edwin Hubble devised the first method of extragalactic distance measurement. His technique relied on stars known as Cepheid variables, whose luminosities can be easily determined by measuring their rates of pulsation. Comparing this luminosity with the stars observed brightness allowed Hubble to estimate the distance to Cepheid stars in such galaxies, affirming their extragalactic location. That the universe extended beyond the Milky Way was already widely surmised, and this discovery didn t change much. The revolution came when Hubble compared these newfound distances with the velocities of galaxies, which can be determined by measuring their color spectra. To his surprise, he found the two to be nearly linearly correlated, leading to the conclusion that every galaxy is receding from every other galaxy, and the universe as a whole is expanding. How does this relate to the age and origin of the universe? The principle is really quite simple: if the velocity and distance to most galaxies are known, one can extrapolate their motion backward to find the time that they were all compressed together at the moment of the universe s origin, the Big Bang. The duration between then and now is the universe s age. Of course, a simple linear extrapolation won t do; the gravity resulting from matter in the universe can be ... • 21. The Analysis On Ephesians Prefacing The Book The Bible ... In the ESV study bible, the authors wrote an excerpt on Ephesians prefacing the author, title, date, background information, and a description of the ancient city of Ephesus. Relating to the author of Ephesians all scholars believed that Paul wrote the letter, until recent times where many scholars propose that an imitator or a follower of Paul wrote the letter. The scholars give two reasons for this theory, the first is the letter s style does not represent Pauline thought, and the second being the authors unfamiliarity with the recipients. In contrast, some scholars say there is ample proof of Pauline authorship; the first reason is the letter explicitly claims to be Paul s in Ephesians 1:1 and 3:1, and the second reason subsists in more analysis of the text and that it is similar to other Pauline texts. The final argument for Pauline authorship is the forcefulness of the author s speech mentioned in Ephesians 4:15, and verse 25. In these two verses, the argument that the author is unfamiliar with the audience stands debunked because the author commands of them and the author addresses the unity they all possess. Secondly, an important historical component for understanding the context of Ephesians is to know the date it is written and background information of why Paul wrote the letter. Scholars suggest that Paul wrote Ephesians in 62 AD when he was under house arrest in Rome, this conclusion comes from Paul mentioning his imprisonment in Ephesians 3:1, 4:1, and 6:20. ... Group A Studies on China Economy Victor Alberto Han Zou 2014059013 The Transition and Opening up and Growth of the Service Sector of China Abstract The objective of this paper is to show the transition of China from an economy dominated by the manufacturing to a more stable economy dominated by services. In recent years, many people were thinking about why the GDP (gross domestic product) of China has drop drastically from 11% to 7%. Well, that is an intentional cooling down that the country is doing to make the transition from industrial to service sector also known as tertiary industry . Through many years, the industrial sector was the one that contributed more to the GDP of the country; but now, China is changing this to a more stable and sustainable economy by opening up its service sector and the 12th Five Year Plan of China (2011 2015) is helping to accomplish this task. In 2013, for the first time of the history the service sector overpass the industrial sector in the contribution to the GDP. Key words: Transition, Gross Domestic Product, Industrial Sector, Tertiary Industry, and Sustainable Economy. I. Introduction Since 1978 when Deng Xiaoping took away the centrally planned economy and introduced the capitalistic market reform, China has witnessed tremendous transitions and growth. This tremendous growth lasted for 30 years. Between 1983 and 2013, the GDP of China has an annual grow of 10.2%. Also, China has transformed from a sleeping rural, to a giant ... • 25. Gay Justice In Plato s Encouragement For Gay Rights Plato s Encouragement for Gay Rights In Plato s Republic, several competing explanations of justice are offered. First, we hear Thrasymachus s account of justice in Book I, as being the advantage of the stronger. We then receive Glaucon s explanation of justice in Book II: the agreement between men to act just in order to avoid the pain of being on the receiving end of an unjust act. Finally, Socrates provides us with the best definition of justice, saying that justice is the result of three specific classes performing their function within a city in order for the collaboration to conclude in self sufficiency. Socrates s definition of justice outshines those of Thrasymachus and Glaucon because he takes into account that not every person is the same, but everyone is equal. Socrates s refutations of both Thrasymachus and Glaucon help completely shape his argument of what justice is when it comes to Book 4. Socrates made his definition of justice general enough to where it accounted for everyone in the city. As long as everyone performed the duty they were naturally capable of, they were just. I am taking three explanations of justice mentioned in Plato s Republic to talk about the injustice toward the gay community and my personal encounter of the unjust society with being seriously involved with a woman of color. The purpose of The Custom House is that it provides the framework for the main idea of The Scarlet Letter and it also describes Hawthorne s life. The narrator, who shares similar traits with Nathaniel Hawthorne, takes a post as the chief executive officer, or surveyor, of the Salem Custom House. The author s attitude toward his former job is that the building extremely run down and the Custom House serves the small ship traffic going through the port, but it is usually a quiet place requiring only minimal work. Hawthorne describes his fellow workers as elderly and have been working at the Custom House their how lives. The only reason why they are there is through family connections and they repeatedly tell the stories. So, what I take from this is that he did not like his old job, the reason being is that he only speaks negative about everything relating to his former job. Hawthorne addresses the reader directly and it causes an effect by showing that he s trying to connect with all sorts of people. He describes the letter as scarlet, gold embroidered piece of cloth in the shape of the letter A . People feared the unknown power of the new technology of computers. Tron is a story of man battling his own creations, which represents technology as a powerful force with destructive capabilities. I am interested in this project because I have always liked science fiction/fantasy movies. I like to think about the possibilities that technology holds for our future. I am also interested in how technology influences our culture. I was in high school when this movie came out and had limited access to computers at that time. I wasn t concerned with the impact of new computer technology then, but remember hearing people say that machines would someday run the world. For example, I worked for a grocery store in the 1980s and remember other employees worrying that new machines were being developed that would replace the cashiers, and we would all be out of a job. I think this movie would probably have a bigger impact now that computers are such a large part of our everyday lives. Artificial intelligence is still a popular theme for science fiction movies, so people must like to consider it a possibility. I ve read that there is a possible sequel to the movie ... • 35. My Most Unforgettable Week Of My Life POW! I dive left to go for the save. The game had just ended and we were now in the penalty shootout. I had to make so many saves in the game to get us to a PK shootout. Back in March, my parents signed me up for the soccer camp with a friend. Last year my parents won a ticket for the soccer camp, at first I did not want to go but since the camp was full and there were no other tickets I had to go so I did. After the first two days I really liked the camp, by the end of it I realized that it would have been more fun with a friend. This year we got a friend that could go to it this time. There were supposed to be three of us, but one of the friend s parent forgot to sign their kid into the camp. This was my most unforgettable week of my life because this was just such a good camp, plus I got one of my highlights of my goalie career to me. The camp that I went to was at Dail soccer/track complex at NC State University. It had a baseball field right next to it with a camp going on for softball. It also took place on the other two fields across the street, yet there is a tunnel underneath the street that we took. For the games for overtime it did not work the same as normal we went straight to the penalty shootout, instead of having two overtime periods. This week happened to me because my parents were able to sign me up for the camp. My parents learned about the camp from last year. They had won a ticket into the camp and since it was sold out my parents looked at the web page for it to see what it was about and thought I would enjoy it, so I went to it. On the first day of camp we went and filled everything out so I could have fun and any insurance for the camp, I don t know I went to the camp to have fun I did not pay any attention to the signing in anything else to start the camp. After that, I went and found my group I was supposed to be in which turned out to be the second goalie group. In the second goalie group, we were more like a group of people that have some problems with ourselves. Most of the people in our group would talk when our coach talked or wanted them to pay attention. Then there were the other people, like me, in the group who wanted to get as far as possible in training and wanted to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. A Statistical Test Essay We live in a scientific world were the results of published research findings can dictate our very existence. Yet, there is an increasing body of evidence that suggest that most publish research findings are false (Ioannidis, 2005 page 0696). How can this be true? Part1: According to Ioannidis (2005), the pre study probability of a relationship being true is R/ (R + 1). Where R is the ratio of the number of true relationships to no relationships among those tested in the field (page 0696). The Null Hypothesis (Ho) is what you want to disprove, what you want to prove to be not true. The Alternative hypothesis (HA) on the other hand is what you want to prove to be true. Thus, in scientific research we are looking to prove that relationships are true or to prove that they are not true. The power of a statistical test is defined as the ability of the test to lead to a conclusion to accept the HA when in fact, the HA is true (Wirtz, 2013). Also, since the probability of a statistical study depends on the prior probability, statistical power, and the level of the observed P value, it means that the probability of a study finding a true relationship is the power of 1 β (one type two error (Ioannidis, 2005 page 0696). Also, type 1 error is the probability of incorrectly rejecting a null hypothesis that should not be rejected (Wirtz, 2013). Factors that negatively affect the probability of true relationships are small studies, smaller effect sizes, in a scientific field, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 38. The And Other Peoples Of Mexico And Their Home Countries... Unfortunately for the Zapotecs and other indigenous peoples, migration to the US does not bring an end to the structural and symbolic violence they must face. Unlike the systemic pressure present in Mexico and their home countries, Indigenous groups face societal pressures not only from migrant mestizos but from the dominant Anglo population of the United States. From their mestizo countrymen, they generally experience a less intense form of the violence from the home country. Generally, these include shame of public displays of their languages and racial insults. From the Anglo population, Indigenous groups are often misidentified and grouped within the broader Hispanic identity, not understanding that they are a different cultural group. To fit a mold that has been pushed upon them, Indigenous peoples are pressured to adopt multiple identities. In accordance to the US system of ethnic classification, Zapotecs identify as ethnically Mexican, followed by their regional identity as Oaxaquenos (Oaxaca region of Mexico), and as lastly as Yalalag Zapotecs (Cruz Manjarrez pg.126). But by juggling multiple identities, Zapotecs and other indigenous groups have both gained both negative and positive aspects of themselves. By being labeled as Mexicans, Zapotecs and other Mexican indigenous groups can take pride in a nationality they have been denied for so long. As Oaxaquenos, there is a recognition of a broader pan indigenous identity in Latin America. For Yalalag Zapotecs, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 40. Complication of Amputation and Edema Title Here Amputation is the general term describing a condition of disability resulting from the deliberate surgical removal of a part of the body, a limb, or part of a limb (Bowker Michael, 1992). Limb loss can be a congenital condition, the result of traumatic injury, or a surgical procedure to treat disease (Clawson, 2009). Clawson posits that the majority of amputations in the United States are the result of vascular disease caused by diabetes (p. 393). In cases of traumatic amputation, adjustment and adaptation is more difficult than for people who have had time to prepare, such as may occur with diabetes. Amputations may be performed at any level in the upper extremities such as the digits, the hand, or the arm, or in the lower extremities such as the toes, the foot, or the leg. Appropriate rehabilitation is a vital element to helping people with lower limb amputation learn to walk and function again and live high quality lives (Hanley et al., 2004). Literature Review In the United States, the majority of amputations are performed in order to treat complications of peripheral vascular disease; the greater numbers involve the lower limbs (Clawson, 2009). According to Bowker and Michael (1992), disease is the most frequent reason for amputation in adults age 50 or older, while trauma is the usual cause of amputation in younger individuals. Marshall and Stansby (2008) include malignant tumor, uncontrollable acute or chronic infection, congenital deformity, useless ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is a systematic approach organized to enhance understanding. It s the managing of information in a way that provides an organization with a competitive advantage. Information Systems can be summed in three words: technology, people, and process. Information Systems is a group of interrelated components that first start with the technology, which includes: hardware, software, and infrastructure. People are also included and they are the trained personnel. To put the system together would be the process, which includes combining the trained personnel to work together to support decision making and provide a value to an organization. Organizational Learning has two main parts. First, it is manifested by shared ideas in an organization. Then the shared ideas are developed into a common meaning by the organization. Organizations learn by the interaction in a collective setting. A High Performance Team is a group of people that molds together their skills in order to strengthen performance results. The group members commit to a common purpose and are in line with one another to hold themselves accountable to the team s performance.
