Explain How To Promote Effective Communication
HOW TO COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY
Communicate is essential in health and social care settings because without a good communication to
patients, families, colleagues and management is very difficult to deliver good service of care.
A care worker needs to listen their patients needs and respond to them with professionalism.
Facial expression, eye contact, active listening, nonverbal communication, clarifying messages,
empathy, use of body language and appropriate language tone and pace are all results of effective
communication.
When a service user have some moral issues or any type of issues the service provider needs to have
empathy on the service user and try to put themselves in the position of the service user because it will

Having support from your colleagues is an informal support on the other hand having support from a
doctor is a formal support because doctors a qualified professional people.
Between workers is important to build trust and maintain confidentiality.
Some example of barriers to communication are use of jargon, physical barriers, cultural differences,
impairments, different language and patronising communication.
Jargon is when people express technical words throughout a conversation.
Physical barriers to communication is when people are trying to communicate and something are
stopping them to communicate well for example a place which there is a lot of noise could be a barrier
for them to have a conversation.
Some physical can be someone who have difficulties to understand because of limitation of vision,
hear, difficulties to talk.
A common communication barrier is the difficulties to speak the mother language of a country well.
To be a good carer is important that you communicate very calmly with your service user and never
lose your temper because it could make worse the service user

Gmo Banned
What is a GMO (genetically modified organism)? A GMO is an organism whose DNA has been
changed by genetic engineering. Many companies today use GMOs in their products. The purpose of
this is so companies can save money and make their products cheaper. They are used in every state in
the U.S. today. Recently, a law was enforced in Vermont to force companies to label all products that
contain some sort of genetic modification since July 1st, 2016. Consumer s use GM (genetically

Even though most farmers gave up the use of GMOs, it ended up affecting the economy. If Europe
stopped using GMO s completely they would lose anywhere from 500 million to 1 billion euro s. This

traditional farming they became the museum of world farming. (Lynas)
President Robert Mugabe announced that GMO s can make young males impotent as soon as the age

Essay On Black Girl
Film is a series of artistic moving images that make up a story. In every film, the director visually
presents the storyline, different characters, the problems they encounter and how they were deal with.
There is a wide range of ways to study films of various genres. We focus on film language, genre,
mise en scene, representation, stereotypes, etc. In Black Girl, it was depicted as an allegory and had a
lot of mise en scene.
Some examples of mise en scene in Black Girl includes the mask, clothing and objects in the Dakar
and France homes. The mask is a very powerful symbol because it represents Diouana. In the
beginning of the film, Diouana was living happily with her boyfriend and had no troubles. She wanted
to seek for employment and was hired by a French couple to care for their children. When Diouana

Back in the 1900s, France colonized many countries. Senegal is one of those countries that France
controlled. The foreign government of France controlling Senegal is similar to the French couple
deciding everything for Diouana. An example is when the French couple receives a letter from
Diouana s mother and responds to the letter by writing what they want. The French couple holds a
dominant position in the household and does not allow Diouana to voice her opinion. At first, Diouana
was excited to go to France with the French couple because she imagined how her life would change,
but she was fooled. Diouana misunderstood that she would continue to care for the children, but she
was treated like a slave. It is like Diouana fell for the trap because she had to do labor on a daily basis.
Diouana had a low social status, accused of many things and treated poorly. After a while, Diouana
could not stand being mistreated all the time which ultimately led to her committing suicide. The
director of Black Girl wanted to tell the audience that Diouana suffered a lot ever since she started

Quentin Skinner Essay
Up for Interpretation or What is This Thing that Hearsay Is Not? is a journal article about how an
using the argument of another author in one s work is fine as long as it is an interpretation of the
original author s work. Quentin Skinner and Christopher Ricks have different backgrounds in
academia and therefore have different approaches to their common claim. Although both authors have
the same claim, they approach it from different angles and are able to analyze texts differently.
Quentin Skinner s main argument is that the act of interpretation principally consists in trying to
identify the nature of the intervention that some given text may be said to constitute (Skinner 1).
Skinner is a historian of belief systems prevailing in early modern Europe and treats adaptations as
contributions to preexisting texts. Co author Christopher Ricks has a different main argument than
Skinner. Ricks main argument is about texts and editing and exactly what was written (Ricks 5). Ricks
forms his argument from a literary viewpoint rather than a philosophical viewpoint like his co author
Skinner. Skinner develops his claim by referring to Machiavelli s The Prince. He analyzes how
Machiavelli quotes Cicero s argument and challenges it. Skinner states what is required is nothing

Essay On Adaptive Filters
Adaptive filters have been successfully applied to diverse fields including communications, speech
recognition, control systems, radar, seismology and biomedical engineering. Among various types of
adaptive algorithms, the least mean square (LMS) algorithm is well known and widely adopted due to
its simplicity and robustness to initial condition and noise. The performance of the LMS algorithm, in
terms of convergence rate, maladjustment, mean square error (MSE), and computational cost, is
governed by the step size. The frequency domain (FD) adaptive filter algorithm is known to be able to
reduce the numerical complexity by using the overlap and save implementation method. It
incorporates block updating strategies where the fast Fourier ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

A variable step size algorithm is proposed in,by focusing on achieving low residual error specifically

motivated to develop an FD step size control for LMS algorithm. Our objective is to achieve both fast

iteration is derived by cancelling the a posteriori error in each frequency bin, and its estimate is
connected to the magnitude squared coherence (MSC) function. This Performs better than the existing

compared to the TD algorithm, the proposed method converges faster in the presence highly of

Guilt In Catalogy Of Morals By Nietzche
A mirror, a simple reflective surface, gives us a clear image of our physical self. An image we may not
admire, and occasionally an image we rarely accept. Yet looking through this mirror, we perceive not
only our appearance, but individually study ourselves from the inside. Fleeting shadows of panic fill
our minds, where we wonder what we mean to the world around us. Does my true self present itself as
this person staring back at me? Have I done enough in life? Will I always regret every decision? Have
I caused myself enough pain? As an individual living with anxiety I, and countless others who suffer

emotional fragility involving feeling on edge, defensive, irritable, sorrowful, and desperation to

Citizens United V. Federal Election Commission
Money is a form of payment in America, money has little to much value. It can be seen as a coin or as
paper, which has been issued legally by the government. Money can be used in exchange for certain
things a person or group desires. With money in peoples hands, it can drive them to make certain
decisions with much power. People in politics use a form of money to pay for their beliefs in the
United States of America. For many years, elections have been organized based on privately funded
campaigns. When a candidate is running for presidency it becomes very expensive and difficult to
manage on their own. Therefore if the candidate is wealthy, their campaign is set to go and continue. If

The case Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission was to regulate the spendings of candidates
campaign, but it failed to succeed. The Supreme Court ruled 5 4 in the case of Citizens United v.
Federal Election Commission. (Bentley, 2017) The case was ruled in favor of big business donating
private funds to campaigns. They argued because the first amendment protects the right to speak of
many corporations and unions, whether or not people see them as human, therefore the are aloud to
donate money to a candidate. (Bentley, 2017) In the academic journal written by Bentley, he States the
Court majority (Justices Kennedy, Roberts, Alito, Scalia, and Thomas) argued, although government
has the authority to prevent corruption or the appearance of corruption, it has no place in determining
whether large political expenditures are either of those things, so it may not impose spending limits on
that basis. This meaning the government cannot enforce spending limits on private donors due to the
government not being able to identify the big businesses as corrupted . Since the government cannot
label an organization as corrupt or unjust, therefore the donor can continue to assist the candidate. The
main problem is the United States of America seems to avoid this. There is a clear problem with
Citizens United being able to continue donating money to candidates without giving them so much
power. This can be stopped through a constitutional amendment to strip away the corporations of their
rights. (Bentley, 2017) By doing this, there will be a very successful campaign for future candidates
due to there being an equal amount of money being distributed to them

Imagery In The Road By Cormac Mccarthy
The Road is about a father and a young boy who take on the south after a huge catastrophe hits the
world. The father and boy in the story are never named, which makes it very hard to read. They have
many hardships like finding food, supplies, and shelter. They come along many different things like
abandoned houses, people, and terrifying landscapes. When the father and young boy come upon the
house and different people, the reader is excited because you never knew what was going to happen to
the main characters, and when something good happened, their success was your success. Even
though they battle through these hardships they find a way through it. The Road has a deep
explanation of the road, the father s dream, and the different people the man and the boy meet along
the way. The author, Cormac McCarthy, uses imagery to make the descriptions vivid and clear which

How Weather Derivatives Are Based On Standard Derivative...
Weather derivatives are based on standard derivative structures, such as puts, calls, and swaps.
Fundamental attributes of these structures are: the tick size, which is the payout amount per unit in the
index beyond the strike; the strike, which is the value of the underlying index when the contract starts
to pay out; and the limit, which is the contract s maximum financial payout.
v. Premium .
The buyer of a weather option pays a premium to the seller that is typically between 10% and 20% of
the notional amount of the contract. It can vary significantly depending on the risk profile of the
contract. Usually there is not an upfront premium associated with swaps.

V. Who uses weather derivatives?
Within the larger category of exotic weather derivatives, there are a number of sub categories that are
utilized by companies who work in various markets. Unsurprisingly, the large companies who use
weather derivatives are those whose businesses are widely affected by the weather on a day to day
basis. Therefore, many weather derivative contracts are based on temperature, rainfall, and snowfall.
Demand for sophisticated and flexible OTC products involving these three variables are growing far
more quickly than standardized, exchange traded contracts. And there are new ideas and experimental
weather derivatives buzzing about the markets, including contracts based on sunshine and even wind
patterns.
Although today energy companies are the biggest users of these trades, there is growing awareness
and signs of potential growth in the trading of weather futures among agricultural firms, renewables,
mining, retail, construction companies, restaurants, and even companies involved in tourism and
travel, like hotels and airlines. The number of markets that could invest in and could benefit from
weather derivatives is endless. Here are some examples of industries and companies that currently use
weather derivatives, the type of weather they hedge on, and the risks they assume:

Who Is Truly Evil In Lord Of The Flies
For centuries, philosophers have debated the question of whether man is truly evil. William Golding
strikes this question in his highly realistic novel, Lord of The Flies. The story is set in a tropical island
during World War 2 when a plane is shot down holding British schoolboys. No adults survive and they
are left to govern themselves until they are rescued. Through Jack, Golding demonstrates what will
happen to man when law and order are taken away, and that ultimately man will choose safe gray over
civility. In the beginning, Jack shows up as head boy of the choir. Jack thinks he should lead the boys
on the island because he already leads his choir. I ought to be chief, because I m chapter chorister and
head boy, (Golding 22). This is the first time we see Jack s wanting of power. Jack has led before and
sees how much power and strength comes with it. This makes him want more, rather than having a
civil vote, and choose who the leader should be. He becomes power hungry and always wants more.
This, Golding proves that man will choose savagery over order and decorum. ... Show more content

Jack is so power hungry, he does not like it when people try to put him in his place. When they do try
to bring Jack down to his place, Jack automatically responds with violence. In this way, Golding
proves that Jack had to give up things to feed his need for

In some countries throughout the world kids are put on tracks dependent upon their careers; some get

them based upon the family they were born into and their parents wealth and educational knowledge.
Some countries even do inventory tests in order to place students on a track and decide if they get to

Lastra Anadón and Paul E. Peterson bring up in their article is that while we need to learn from
countries such as Korea, Finland, Japan, the Netherlands, and Canada we must not copy exactly what
they are doing but more so do what is best for our educational system (1.) I agree with the point they
have made, I do not believe we should implement all of the educational ideas these countries have. I
believe this because like America s educational system their systems have flaws as well. But instead
we should learn from their mistakes and apply and implement them into our own system as needed. In
doing this step I believe we can make our educational system more successful and proficient in
comparison with these countries.

Conuncianitarianism And Confucianism
Confucianism does not explicitly encourage war given its emphasis on humanity. This combination of
moral vision and political realism combined with his advocacy of strong political authorities that
nevertheless rule justly in service of the common good. Xunzi s vision of the good society and how it
fits into a multi state world which undergirds his critique of alternate discourses about war and the
government. Xunzian s vision of politics and war as a source for contemporary Confucian theory of
civilian military relations. The early Confucian figure Xunzi (xunzi, during 310 c. 220 BCE) gives a
sophisticated analysis of war, which he develops on the basis of a larger social and political vision that
he works out in considerable detail. This larger vision of human society is thoroughly normative in the
sense that Xunzi both argues for the value of his ideal conception of society, and relates these moral
arguments for the Confucian Dao or Way. Xunzi s led him to argue about war in ways that look
distinctive to Western ethicists, but still his preferred issues are revealing themselves as suggestive in
relation to current debates in military ethics. Judaism does not regard violence and war to promote
justice as always wrong. It accepts that certain kinds of war will be ethically justified, and that it is
sometimes morally acceptable to kill people. Before declaring war or starting a battle there must be a
genuine attempt to make peace and avoid the conflict. In much

Sustainable Management of Natural Resources in Nigeria
Abstract
This report studies sustainable management of natural resources in Nigeria. This it does with the aim
to determine the extent to which the exploration of natural resources is managed in our country from
1960 till date. Also, given recommendations in which the resources can be managed.
CHAPTER ONE
1.0 Introduction
Nigeria is one of those countries in Africa that is fairly rich with natural resources. For example Crude
Oil, Coal, Iron, forest, farming, Fishing and so on. It is believed that natural resources development is
one of the factors that help the country in some many areas like employment opportunities, economy
and so on.

One fundamental premise for sustainable development is the recognition that environment and
development are not exclusive of one another but are complementary and inter dependent and in the
long run man mutually reinforcing (Ahmad and Sanny 1987). This complexity explains the difficulty
in operational zing the concept of sustainable Development. Yet there has been ever increasing
demand on the limited forest resources and the carrying capably of the fragile forest ecosystem. Under
the conditions of poverty for which Nigeria is known, the environment often exhibits the ravages of
long years of mismanagement as illustrated by high rate of deforestation, overgrazing, desertification
and endangering the forest species. In advanced countries, most forests are managed but in developing
countries like Nigeria, relatively few forests are formally managed. Much timber production in
Nigeria still comes from natural forest. The organized forest management is the Teak (tectona grandis)
plantations in the South West which have been bastardized by the military administrators of these
states in the 90s. Their impact favoured deforestation. This has generated public pressure to manage
forests. With this pressure and with much timber production, forests are now in demand for other
goods and services in fact, the goods of forest management are broadening. The

which they will be the lightweight champions of the world, and together they help each other train

other because their relationship is so important to them. Here, again Piri uses the boys to testify to the
value of friendship. Finally, the story s theme is relayed through the final actions of the boys. During
the fight, both are focused on winning the match. Each attacks the other with full force. The fight
becomes so violent that the referee has to pull them apart. After cold water is poured on both of them,
they start to come back to reality. When they realize what has happened to them, they rush toward
each other and hug. Afterwards, the bell rings to announce the winner of the fight, but when the
announcer looks around to identify the victor, no one is there. The boys leave the ring arm in arm. The
reason they leave is that they realize that winning is not what is most important to them. What they
really care about is their friendship. Piri finalizes his theme through the ultimate actions of the boys. In
conclusion, the boys choice to leave

Video Games Impact On Society
Video Games have been a growing interest to the people since the early 1980 s.
Video games have been a lasting influence on our youth and adults in today s society, games in the
making throughout their time have came from a slow pace, pixely, more of a puzzle type of games.
Nowadays games today are more real life making it feel like the game you re playing to be real life.
They also are fast pace, not as much thinking involved, just run around shoot em up type of games that
are in demand, stems the question are video games beneficial or hazardous? A Lot of people in today s
society have the opinion that videogames are a waste of time, create antisocial behaviors, and have a
negative influence on the person s physical and mental health, because they have a lot of violent
content. In my opinion video games have a very positive impact on people today and they are
beneficial by giving people a brain workout, it promotes social activity and teamwork, it also proven
to improve your psychological well being.
Furthermore, playing video games gives you a mental workout meaning playing different types of
games requires high levels of brain activity, and abstract thinking. By playing Shooter games gives the

States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same;
and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers
appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. To follow
orders within the unit promotes morale, Esprit de corps, the completion of tasks and details that

are not being followed, it creates a doubt within the mind of not only the Noncommissioned Officer,
but the other core leaders of the soldier. The soldier himself or

Literary Devices In Medea
When Love Backfires
Euripides Medea is a tragic play that takes place in Corinth, Greece. It was first produced in 431 BC.
It was during this time that Corinth and Athens were rivals, fighting to have the upper hand. In fact,
Corinth and Sparta teamed together against Athens during the Peloponnesian War in 431 BC. Like
most literature, Euripides Medea incorporates the period in which it was written along with a timeless
theme. Euripdes uses the literary devices of setting, irony, and symbolism to depict the theme of
identity in relation to marriage.
The play Medea uses the setting to help the audience better understand the meaning of the text. What
is said depends greatly on who is around and where the character(s) are. For example, when Medea is
by herself or with the chorus, she is speaking freely of her evil plans, however, when she was in the
presences of Creon or Jason, she lied to their faces. The audience knows what her true thoughts and
feelings are due to the setting. They are not tricked into thinking she has changed her mind but
instead, they know when she is lying based on who she is around. After Medea devised a plan, she
sent for Jason and pleades to him, Jason, I ask you to forgive me for the things I said before. You re
used to putting up with my temper, since so many acts of love have passed between us... (Medea,
870). This quote is a perfect example of how the setting changes the meaning of the words. This helps
portray the overall them of identity. Medea is now full of rage and anger due to her husband leaving
her for another woman. She has lost her sense of identity which was found in her husband. She is a
refugee in Corinth and has no friends or family. She feels completely alone with nowhere else to turn
but to anger and rage.
The literary device of irony is strategically used throughout the entire play. The irony within the text
works in Medea because the audience understands Medea s thoughts and plans while the characters
within the play do not. For instance, Jason says, I will not carry on this quarrel any longer. But if you
want to take me up on my offer of money for the children or your own exile say so, I am ready to be
generous to you... (Medea, 610). What Jason does not

Exploring The Life Of Eugene Atget
Exploring the Life of Eugene Atget
Biographical and autobiographical information on Atget in his lifetime is scarce to be found however
we do know a small amount. He was born into a working class family, in Libourne France in the
winter of 1857. Libourne lays near Bordeaux, an intrinsically prerevolutionary feeling city, whose
architecture and sights may have been an underlying attraction to his Old Paris documentation.
Orphaned at the young age of five years old, Atget came to be raised by his grandparents until he was
able to work and live on his own. He is speculated to have spent some time at sea during the early
1870s, however inconclusive evidence may be, he may have worked as a cabin boy. During this time
he developed an inclination to act, and eventually gained entry to the Conservatoire D art Dramatique
in Paris in 1879. Unfortunately his obligation to server time in the military prevented him from
finishing his studies at the conservatory. After briefly managing a humorist magazine to no financial
or positional avail, Atget pursued a career as an itinerant actor. His acting escapades turned sour,
unremarkable, and were short lived. He quit acting for good in 1887, but his passion for it was never
lost, and between 1904 and 1913, Atget lectured about theater at universities in and surrounding Paris.
While searching for a new path to take his life down, Atget contemplated over both photography and
painting. In his endeavors to paint, he must have realized

Army Vs. Military Army
Another change occurred, in that armies changed from being mercenary based to kingdoms
establishing their own standing armies. As a result, professional soldiers emerged which only
continued to elevate the common soldier s status in society. This occurred for a few reasons. Before
arquebuses, a state maintaining a standing army was incredibly dangerous and expensive to handle. A
standing army under a commander was mechanically difficult to manage while standing bowmen, as
stated before, required constant training to be effective. Granted, it was possible that a standing army
could be stronger than a mercenary based army, but most countries did not want to take the continual
drain on their resources. The French had developed a standing army merely out of necessity for
themselves due to the Hundred Years War. However, with arquebuses, states could have the benefits of
a standing army, but without technically having one. Once initially trained, Arquebuses could reside in
their local communities until the kingdom called them. With this, Commanders now had to hold a
better appreciation of these communities since that is where their troops came from instead of
Condottieri having to recruit their mercenary armies individually. As the effectiveness of arquebuses
continued to grow during the Italian Wars, they expectedly caught the attention of the philosophers of
the time whose works pushed these new cultural attitudes toward the common soldier. Perhaps one of
the greatest

By spreading expenses over the whole year there is a more equal cash outflow each month rather than
one huge outflow during one month. An example of this is the offer from insurance companies to be
able to pay insurance premiums monthly instead of annually because of the excessively high costs.
Another strategy commonly used is Discounts for the early payments , This is where a business may
offer discounts to account customers for the early payment of their accounts to speed up cash inflow.
This discount may be a little as 2 5%, but shows effective in terms of cash inflow as it gives incentive
for the customers, Giving both the customer and business a gain in the financial situation. Other
incentives for early payment could include small gifts and discounts on future orders that the
customers may have. The business then may shorten the credit terms it allows for account customers.
Thus Reducing the number of days that a customer can take to pay its invoice, this will speed up cash
inflow into the business as it recieves cash from its sales much sooner. Factoring, a short term source
of borrowing for a business. IT enables a business to raise the funds immediately by selling accounts
receivable at a discount to a firm that specialises in collecting accounts recievable (a finance or even
factoring buiness). Factoring is an important source of short term finance because the business will

Essay about The Establishment of Globalization
Traditional international trade involves a complex system of trade barriers to ensure the protection of
domestic industry and its workers interests. The trade impediments and subsidies include protective
tariffs, import quotas, non tariff barriers such as licensing, and export subsidies. Originally, a country s
economy acted independently of other nations. The growing trend since the establishment of GATT in
1947 is globalization.
Introduction
In globalization, a country acts as a part of a free trading community consisting of member nations
around the globe. As a trading community, trade problems can easily be resolved through negotiations
rather than a trade war (McConnell 104 105). The US government employs the use of protective ...

Gender Inequalities And Gender Inequality
Gender inequalities have been around since the beginning of time, and it has been a long and bumpy
road to achieve the amount of equality that we have today. Still everyday women have the risk of
being discriminated against for simply being women. Depending on where these women live, what the
predominate culture in the area is, and the amount of education that is allowed affects their risk of
being discriminated against and the severity of the act itself. Discrimination can be displayed in forms
such as segregation, wage gap, harassment and many more. Abusive practices, against women happen
daily and can be justified through cultural practices but never can justify depriving a person s basic
human rights. Many cultures carry some sort of female discrimination inside of their rudimentary
values ranging from a girl s access to education to a woman s right to drive or even be considered a
citizen within her own state. In contrast, these cultural practices many times are not seen as harsh
gender inequality to some women of such culture. Many of these practices haven t taken place for
thousands of years and are no longer seen as discriminatory, but as general everyday events that
should be practiced to maintain a healthy balance in her own culture. Every year 63 million girls are
denied their right of basic education to inform them on the harsh inequalities that take place inside
their everyday life. The women who are educated rarely are allowed to voice any opinion or fight

The Toronto Transit System And Municipal Transit Agency
Over the past several years, Toronto has struggled to find new dedicated streams of revenue to fund its
regional transit system, all while Metrolinx, the provincial transit agency is developing the province s
Big Move plan in hopes of connecting the Greater Toronto and
Hamilton Area transportation system. The province stopped funding the TTC s operating funds in
1996 and since then, the City of Toronto has relied on a subsidy from the city and fares to balance this.
Later in 2006, Metrolinx was created by the Province of Ontario as the first
Regional Transportation Agency for the GTHA and in 2016, Move the GTHA reveals a $30 billion
funding gap which begs the questions of who should fund the regional transit system and by what
mechanisms? It is very hard for a city as large as Toronto to keep up with its funding for regional
transit without much efforts from the provincial or federal government. The Toronto Transit
Commission (TTC) is falling behind on a massive deficit when funding its Operating Budget.
Only two thirds of the TTC s Operating Budget are covered by fares. These fares generate about $1.1
billion of the TTC s $1.6 billion operating budget. The rest primarily comes from a city subsidy, which
is $428 million, up from $411 million in 2013 according to Jennifer Palisoc
(Palisoc, 2014). With the continuous struggle of efforts to get Toronto s transit system back up on its
feet again, the Province of Ontario created Metrolinx; an organization

RC F Advertisement Analysis Essay
What is perfection? Perfection is a process and plays a vital role in this advertisement. The 2016
Lexus RC F stands for perfection, which the car manufacturer highlights in this ad. This advertisement
was from a February 2016 issue of Motor Trend on a website called Issuu. In this ad, there are three
photos of the car from the top, wheel close up, and rear views. In the pursuit to go beyond perfection,
the RC F is engineered to showcase a highly capable vehicle to a higher performance standard. In an
everyday world, Lexus is conveying that power and the desire to go fast are strengths. Lexus wants
consumers to know that this message is not only possible but also admirable. Through several visual
elements, Lexus makes consumers yearn for a car that is worth owning. Overall, the advertisers were
successful in presenting this concept. To begin with, by looking at the textual element of the RC F
advertisement, one can understand the features and attitude of the car. One part of the ad is on top of
the page in a big, Helvetica white font. The phrase in the ad, A 467 horsepower line in the sand could

The final shot includes a rear view of the vehicle. The car looks like it is slightly tilted to the left and

Organizational Structure and Culture
Organizational Structure and Culture
Introduction
In this week s assignment we will be looking at organizational structure and organizational culture. We
will first look at how organizational culture impacts organizational structure and vice versa. Then look
at how organizational structure interacts and impacts the organization s decision process.
Organizational Cultures Impact on Organizational Structure The first part of this week s assignment
was to look at how organizational structure impacts organizational culture and vice versa. But before
we look at that let us review what organizational structure and culture are. Organizational culture as
defined from the text is the shared values, principles, traditions, and ways of doing things that
influence the way organizational members set (Robbins, Decenzo, Coulter, 2013). Also an
organization s culture usually reflects the vision or mission of the organization s founders (Robbins,
Decenzo, Coulter, 2013). Organizational structure is a hierarchical arrangement of lines of authority,
communication, rights and duties of an organization (BusinessDictionary.com, 2013). Organizational
structure determines how the roles, power and responsibilities are assigned, controlled, and
coordinated, and how information flows between different levels of management
(BusinessDictionary.com, 2013). Now with a review of what organizational structure and culture are
let us look how they impact each other. There are many examples of structure

Unbroken Chapter Summaries
Controversies of prisoners of war
The book Unbroken was a seemingly impossible tale of triumph and survival of an Olympic runner
and WWII veteran named Louis Zamperini. He constantly had to overcome adversity in his early
years, for he was an immigrant from Italy and a trouble maker before his brother Pete steered him into
running track. This immediately turned him around as he did well enough to in running to break all
sorts if local records, which were accomplished while his competitors were trying to sabotage his runs.
This qualified him for the 1936 Olympic in Berlin, where he met Hitler. He still had running
aspirations but felt he had no choice other than fighting in the world due to the fact that the 1940
Olympics were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Everyone who experienced being a Prisoner of War were followed by physical, psychological and
spiritual affects, and also affects that made them feel less than a person. Louie s journey was no
different. The physical affects were terrible, Louie had little food and water so he lost an extreme
amount of weight. This was compounded with beating with first and kicks. The prison guards didn t
care, they made the POW s work long, free labor hours. There were no medicines to treat any sick or
injured so, if you were hurt you would most likely end up dead. All this horrible treatment truly
affected Louie psychological as well. During the imprisonment he managed to stay strong mentally by
not going crazy enough to kill himself and also by staying sane enough to be strategically incompliant
in the interrogation rooms to let the interrogators feel satisfied while not relinquishing U.S. security.
This psychological strength didn t last long after Louie got out of the prison camps though, for he had
constant reminding of The Bird and the evils that happened to him by daydreams and nightmares. This
is commonly known as post traumatic stress disorder. After he found out bird was still alive, Louie
tried to forget and put the past behind him but the feeling of anxiety was just too great. Louie called
for a meeting with the Bird to no avail. Although there were almost overwhelming negative effects,

Imperialism, Militarism, And The Allied System
I will define each imperialism, nationalism, militarism, and the allied system. Then I will rank them in
order as the start of the World War I goes.
Imperialism To impose your culture, power and government on an inferior country, a policy of
extending a country s power and influence through diplomacy or military force:
Nationalism To take pride in your own country, a patriotic feeling, efforts and principals
Militarism the belief or desire of a government or people that a country should keep a strong military
capability and be prepared to use it aggressively to defend or promote national interests.
Allied system alliance system was one of the main causes of World War I. The alliance system was
made up of two groups, the Central powers (Germany, Austria Hungary, Italy (1914), the Ottoman
Empire). The second group was the Allied powers (Russia, France, Great Britain, and United States).

Females Of The Same Sexual Orientation
The Jurgens, Schwitzer, Middleton, (2004) study pointed out that focus groups were asked whether
males of the same sexual orientation delivered an optimistic and restricted perspective to social
transformation, and 68% of the sample evaluated was unbiased. Some of the questionnaire s questions
included, sexual option have nothing to do with a person s personality or their input to civilization
(Jurgens et al, 2004). The inquiries claimed individuals of the same sexual persuasion are worthy of
comparable shelter and safety (Jurgens et al, 2004). The participants in the survey determined that
females of the same sexual orientation vindicated comparable protection and the similar privileges as
heterosexuals (Jurgens et al, 2004). Two topics came up, and one theme was that female of the same
sexual preference should not have corresponding rights in the area of child nurturing (Jurgens et al,
2004). The responses sets stated that it did not give kids any other possibilities (Jurgens et al, 2004).
The respondents in the survey claimed it was detrimental for a child s health to be brought up in
female of the same sexual orientation s family unit, and it made the household arrangement
idiosyncratic (Jurgens et al, 2004).
According to the Anselmi, Voci, Vianello, Robusto, (2015) analysis argued that explicitly, men of the
same sexual preference assumed there was ineffectual in group predisposition in comparison to males
belonging to heterosexuality. Women of the same sexual

Explain How To Promote Effective Communication HOW TO COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY Communicate is essential in health and social care settings because without a good communication to patients, families, colleagues and management is very difficult to deliver good service of care. A care worker needs to listen their patients needs and respond to them with professionalism. Facial expression, eye contact, active listening, nonverbal communication, clarifying messages, empathy, use of body language and appropriate language tone and pace are all results of effective communication. When a service user have some moral issues or any type of issues the service provider needs to have empathy on the service user and try to put themselves in the position of the service user because it will help the service ... Some example of barriers to communication are use of jargon, physical barriers, cultural differences, impairments, different language and patronising communication. Jargon is when people express technical words throughout a conversation. Physical barriers to communication is when people are trying to communicate and something are stopping them to communicate well for example a place which there is a lot of noise could be a barrier for them to have a conversation. Some physical can be someone who have difficulties to understand because of limitation of vision, hear, difficulties to talk. • 3. Gmo Banned What is a GMO (genetically modified organism)? A GMO is an organism whose DNA has been changed by genetic engineering. Many companies today use GMOs in their products. The purpose of this is so companies can save money and make their products cheaper. They are used in every state in the U.S. today. Recently, a law was enforced in Vermont to force companies to label all products that contain some sort of genetic modification since July 1st, 2016. Consumer s use GM (genetically modified) food because it is cheaper and it tastes better. • 4. Essay On Black Girl Film is a series of artistic moving images that make up a story. In every film, the director visually presents the storyline, different characters, the problems they encounter and how they were deal with. There is a wide range of ways to study films of various genres. We focus on film language, genre, mise en scene, representation, stereotypes, etc. In Black Girl, it was depicted as an allegory and had a lot of mise en scene. Some examples of mise en scene in Black Girl includes the mask, clothing and objects in the Dakar and France homes. The mask is a very powerful symbol because it represents Diouana. In the beginning of the film, Diouana was living happily with her boyfriend and had no troubles. She wanted to seek for employment and was hired by a French couple to care for their children. When Diouana finally found ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Back in the 1900s, France colonized many countries. Senegal is one of those countries that France controlled. The foreign government of France controlling Senegal is similar to the French couple deciding everything for Diouana. An example is when the French couple receives a letter from Diouana s mother and responds to the letter by writing what they want. The French couple holds a dominant position in the household and does not allow Diouana to voice her opinion. At first, Diouana was excited to go to France with the French couple because she imagined how her life would change, but she was fooled. Diouana misunderstood that she would continue to care for the children, but she was treated like a slave. It is like Diouana fell for the trap because she had to do labor on a daily basis. Diouana had a low social status, accused of many things and treated poorly. After a while, Diouana could not stand being mistreated all the time which ultimately led to her committing suicide. • 5. Quentin Skinner Essay Up for Interpretation or What is This Thing that Hearsay Is Not? is a journal article about how an using the argument of another author in one s work is fine as long as it is an interpretation of the original author s work. Quentin Skinner and Christopher Ricks have different backgrounds in academia and therefore have different approaches to their common claim. Although both authors have the same claim, they approach it from different angles and are able to analyze texts differently. Quentin Skinner s main argument is that the act of interpretation principally consists in trying to identify the nature of the intervention that some given text may be said to constitute (Skinner 1). Skinner is a historian of belief systems prevailing in early modern Europe and treats adaptations as contributions to preexisting texts. Co author Christopher Ricks has a different main argument than Skinner. Ricks main argument is about texts and editing and exactly what was written (Ricks 5). Ricks forms his argument from a literary viewpoint rather than a philosophical viewpoint like his co author Skinner. Skinner develops his claim by referring to Machiavelli s The Prince. He analyzes how Machiavelli quotes Cicero s argument and challenges it. Skinner states what is required is nothing more than an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ricks also supports his argument by analyzing Samuel Beckett s Ceiling . Ricks discusses how the writing is difficult to understand textually because it is an interpretative crux and doesn t arrive at a proof. Essay On Adaptive Filters Adaptive filters have been successfully applied to diverse fields including communications, speech recognition, control systems, radar, seismology and biomedical engineering. Among various types of adaptive algorithms, the least mean square (LMS) algorithm is well known and widely adopted due to its simplicity and robustness to initial condition and noise. The performance of the LMS algorithm, in terms of convergence rate, maladjustment, mean square error (MSE), and computational cost, is governed by the step size. The frequency domain (FD) adaptive filter algorithm is known to be able to reduce the numerical complexity by using the overlap and save implementation method. It incorporates block updating strategies where the fast Fourier ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A variable step size algorithm is proposed in,by focusing on achieving low residual error specifically for the acoustic echo cancellation applications and also lacks of convergence analysis. Thus, we are motivated to develop an FD step size control for LMS algorithm. Our objective is to achieve both fast convergence and low steady state error, and to provide theoretical analysis on the convergence. A new bin wise block varying step size for the FD LMS algorithm. The optimal solution of step size at each iteration is derived by cancelling the a posteriori error in each frequency bin, and its estimate is connected to the magnitude squared coherence (MSC) function. This Performs better than the existing FD algorithm in terms of both convergence rate and mean square deviation (MSD). Furthermore, compared to the TD algorithm, the proposed method converges faster in the presence highly of correlated filter input. 5.1.1 frequency Domain Variable Step Size LMS The derivation of the proposed FD step size control algorithm, ... An image we may not admire, and occasionally an image we rarely accept. Yet looking through this mirror, we perceive not only our appearance, but individually study ourselves from the inside. Fleeting shadows of panic fill our minds, where we wonder what we mean to the world around us. Does my true self present itself as this person staring back at me? Have I done enough in life? Will I always regret every decision? Have I caused myself enough pain? Anxiety and guilt can cause headaches, stomach aches, muscle tension, insomnia, etc. These physical symptoms often affect how we live our lives since we do not sleep the recommended eight hours in order to deal with the daily worry. This then escalates to troubling our emotional fragility involving feeling on edge, defensive, irritable, sorrowful, and desperation to apologize. At this point, several loved ones and close friends believe we live a deranged life or simply want attention. Their diagnosis leads us to our behavioral symptoms that include: clinginess, overapoligizing, pleasing others, avoiding judgement, and righting perceived wrongs. Due to those behavioral symptoms, people who do not understand a life with anxiety become upset with those of us who suffer from GAD. They believe we take words and endeavours way too literal or too much to heart. When in reality we cannot help who we are, or how our brains work. With money in peoples hands, it can drive them to make certain decisions with much power. People in politics use a form of money to pay for their beliefs in the United States of America. For many years, elections have been organized based on privately funded campaigns. When a candidate is running for presidency it becomes very expensive and difficult to manage on their own. The case Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission was to regulate the spendings of candidates campaign, but it failed to succeed. The Supreme Court ruled 5 4 in the case of Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission. (Bentley, 2017) The case was ruled in favor of big business donating private funds to campaigns. They argued because the first amendment protects the right to speak of many corporations and unions, whether or not people see them as human, therefore the are aloud to donate money to a candidate. (Bentley, 2017) In the academic journal written by Bentley, he States the Court majority (Justices Kennedy, Roberts, Alito, Scalia, and Thomas) argued, although government has the authority to prevent corruption or the appearance of corruption, it has no place in determining whether large political expenditures are either of those things, so it may not impose spending limits on that basis. This meaning the government cannot enforce spending limits on private donors due to the government not being able to identify the big businesses as corrupted . Since the government cannot label an organization as corrupt or unjust, therefore the donor can continue to assist the candidate. The main problem is the United States of America seems to avoid this. There is a clear problem with Citizens United being able to continue donating money to candidates without giving them so much power. This can be stopped through a constitutional amendment to strip away the corporations of their rights. Therefore, many weather derivative contracts are based on temperature, rainfall, and snowfall. Demand for sophisticated and flexible OTC products involving these three variables are growing far more quickly than standardized, exchange traded contracts. And there are new ideas and experimental weather derivatives buzzing about the markets, including contracts based on sunshine and even wind patterns. • 13. Who Is Truly Evil In Lord Of The Flies For centuries, philosophers have debated the question of whether man is truly evil. William Golding strikes this question in his highly realistic novel, Lord of The Flies. The story is set in a tropical island during World War 2 when a plane is shot down holding British schoolboys. No adults survive and they are left to govern themselves until they are rescued. Through Jack, Golding demonstrates what will happen to man when law and order are taken away, and that ultimately man will choose safe gray over civility. In the beginning, Jack shows up as head boy of the choir. Jack thinks he should lead the boys on the island because he already leads his choir. I ought to be chief, because I m chapter chorister and head boy, (Golding 22). This is the first time we see Jack s wanting of power. Jack has led before and sees how much power and strength comes with it. This makes him want more, rather than having a civil vote, and choose who the leader should be. He becomes power hungry and always wants more. This, Golding proves that man will choose savagery over order and decorum. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One thing he gave up was peace. Xunzian s vision of politics and war as a source for contemporary Confucian theory of civilian military relations. The early Confucian figure Xunzi (xunzi, during 310 c. 220 BCE) gives a sophisticated analysis of war, which he develops on the basis of a larger social and political vision that he works out in considerable detail. This larger vision of human society is thoroughly normative in the sense that Xunzi both argues for the value of his ideal conception of society, and relates these moral arguments for the Confucian Dao or Way. Xunzi s led him to argue about war in ways that look distinctive to Western ethicists, but still his preferred issues are revealing themselves as suggestive in relation to current debates in military ethics. • 22. Literary Devices In Medea When Love Backfires Euripides Medea is a tragic play that takes place in Corinth, Greece. It was first produced in 431 BC. It was during this time that Corinth and Athens were rivals, fighting to have the upper hand. In fact, Corinth and Sparta teamed together against Athens during the Peloponnesian War in 431 BC. Like most literature, Euripides Medea incorporates the period in which it was written along with a timeless theme. Euripdes uses the literary devices of setting, irony, and symbolism to depict the theme of identity in relation to marriage. The play Medea uses the setting to help the audience better understand the meaning of the text. What is said depends greatly on who is around and where the character(s) are. For example, when Medea is by herself or with the chorus, she is speaking freely of her evil plans, however, when she was in the presences of Creon or Jason, she lied to their faces. The audience knows what her true thoughts and feelings are due to the setting. They are not tricked into thinking she has changed her mind but instead, they know when she is lying based on who she is around. After Medea devised a plan, she sent for Jason and pleades to him, Jason, I ask you to forgive me for the things I said before. You re used to putting up with my temper, since so many acts of love have passed between us... (Medea, 870). This quote is a perfect example of how the setting changes the meaning of the words. This helps portray the overall them of identity. Medea is now full of rage and anger due to her husband leaving her for another woman. She has lost her sense of identity which was found in her husband. She is a refugee in Corinth and has no friends or family. She feels completely alone with nowhere else to turn but to anger and rage. The literary device of irony is strategically used throughout the entire play. The irony within the text works in Medea because the audience understands Medea s thoughts and plans while the characters within the play do not. For instance, Jason says, I will not carry on this quarrel any longer. But if you want to take me up on my offer of money for the children or your own exile say so, I am ready to be generous to you... (Medea, 610). What Jason does not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Exploring The Life Of Eugene Atget Exploring the Life of Eugene Atget Biographical and autobiographical information on Atget in his lifetime is scarce to be found however we do know a small amount. He was born into a working class family, in Libourne France in the winter of 1857. Libourne lays near Bordeaux, an intrinsically prerevolutionary feeling city, whose architecture and sights may have been an underlying attraction to his Old Paris documentation. Orphaned at the young age of five years old, Atget came to be raised by his grandparents until he was able to work and live on his own. He is speculated to have spent some time at sea during the early 1870s, however inconclusive evidence may be, he may have worked as a cabin boy. During this time he developed an inclination to act, and eventually gained entry to the Conservatoire D art Dramatique in Paris in 1879. Unfortunately his obligation to server time in the military prevented him from finishing his studies at the conservatory. After briefly managing a humorist magazine to no financial or positional avail, Atget pursued a career as an itinerant actor. His acting escapades turned sour, unremarkable, and were short lived. He quit acting for good in 1887, but his passion for it was never lost, and between 1904 and 1913, Atget lectured about theater at universities in and surrounding Paris. • 24. Army Vs. Military Army Another change occurred, in that armies changed from being mercenary based to kingdoms establishing their own standing armies. As a result, professional soldiers emerged which only continued to elevate the common soldier s status in society. This occurred for a few reasons. Before arquebuses, a state maintaining a standing army was incredibly dangerous and expensive to handle. A standing army under a commander was mechanically difficult to manage while standing bowmen, as stated before, required constant training to be effective. Granted, it was possible that a standing army could be stronger than a mercenary based army, but most countries did not want to take the continual drain on their resources. The French had developed a standing army merely out of necessity for themselves due to the Hundred Years War. However, with arquebuses, states could have the benefits of a standing army, but without technically having one. Once initially trained, Arquebuses could reside in their local communities until the kingdom called them. With this, Commanders now had to hold a better appreciation of these communities since that is where their troops came from instead of Condottieri having to recruit their mercenary armies individually. As the effectiveness of arquebuses continued to grow during the Italian Wars, they expectedly caught the attention of the philosophers of the time whose works pushed these new cultural attitudes toward the common soldier. The Toronto Transit System And Municipal Transit Agency Over the past several years, Toronto has struggled to find new dedicated streams of revenue to fund its regional transit system, all while Metrolinx, the provincial transit agency is developing the province s Big Move plan in hopes of connecting the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area transportation system. The province stopped funding the TTC s operating funds in 1996 and since then, the City of Toronto has relied on a subsidy from the city and fares to balance this. Organizational Cultures Impact on Organizational Structure The first part of this week s assignment was to look at how organizational structure impacts organizational culture and vice versa. But before we look at that let us review what organizational structure and culture are. Organizational culture as defined from the text is the shared values, principles, traditions, and ways of doing things that influence the way organizational members set (Robbins, Decenzo, Coulter, 2013). • 33. Unbroken Chapter Summaries Controversies of prisoners of war The book Unbroken was a seemingly impossible tale of triumph and survival of an Olympic runner and WWII veteran named Louis Zamperini. He constantly had to overcome adversity in his early years, for he was an immigrant from Italy and a trouble maker before his brother Pete steered him into running track. This immediately turned him around as he did well enough to in running to break all sorts if local records, which were accomplished while his competitors were trying to sabotage his runs. This qualified him for the 1936 Olympic in Berlin, where he met Hitler. He still had running aspirations but felt he had no choice other than fighting in the world due to the fact that the 1940 Olympics were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Everyone who experienced being a Prisoner of War were followed by physical, psychological and spiritual affects, and also affects that made them feel less than a person. Louie s journey was no different. The physical affects were terrible, Louie had little food and water so he lost an extreme amount of weight. This was compounded with beating with first and kicks. The prison guards didn t care, they made the POW s work long, free labor hours. There were no medicines to treat any sick or injured so, if you were hurt you would most likely end up dead. All this horrible treatment truly affected Louie psychological as well. During the imprisonment he managed to stay strong mentally by not going crazy enough to kill himself and also by staying sane enough to be strategically incompliant in the interrogation rooms to let the interrogators feel satisfied while not relinquishing U.S. security. This psychological strength didn t last long after Louie got out of the prison camps though, for he had constant reminding of The Bird and the evils that happened to him by daydreams and nightmares. This is commonly known as post traumatic stress disorder. After he found out bird was still alive, Louie tried to forget and put the past behind him but the feeling of anxiety was just too great. Louie called for a meeting with the Bird to no avail. Although there were almost overwhelming negative effects, there were very ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 35. Females Of The Same Sexual Orientation The Jurgens, Schwitzer, Middleton, (2004) study pointed out that focus groups were asked whether males of the same sexual orientation delivered an optimistic and restricted perspective to social transformation, and 68% of the sample evaluated was unbiased. Some of the questionnaire s questions included, sexual option have nothing to do with a person s personality or their input to civilization (Jurgens et al, 2004). The inquiries claimed individuals of the same sexual persuasion are worthy of comparable shelter and safety (Jurgens et al, 2004). The participants in the survey determined that females of the same sexual orientation vindicated comparable protection and the similar privileges as heterosexuals (Jurgens et al, 2004). Two topics came up, and one theme was that female of the same sexual preference should not have corresponding rights in the area of child nurturing (Jurgens et al, 2004). The responses sets stated that it did not give kids any other possibilities (Jurgens et al, 2004). The respondents in the survey claimed it was detrimental for a child s health to be brought up in female of the same sexual orientation s family unit, and it made the household arrangement idiosyncratic (Jurgens et al, 2004). According to the Anselmi, Voci, Vianello, Robusto, (2015) analysis argued that explicitly, men of the same sexual preference assumed there was ineffectual in group predisposition in comparison to males belonging to heterosexuality.
