Disease that makes it hard to exhale all the air in the lungs, and when the airways becomes narrow that
cause the air to come out slower is considered Obstructive airway disease. In addition patient with
obstructive airway disease find it difficult to breathe while increased activity or exertion. Chronic
Obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), Asthma, and Cystic Fibrosis are some of the obstructive

The pharmacologic treatment of COPD includes bronchodilators. Medication such Albuterol,
levalbuterol, and ipratropium, are bronchodilator that comes in inhalant or liquid form that you add in

used to help reduce the swelling and mucus production inside the airways. Drugs used to treat asthma
and COPD include drugs to block inflammation and drugs to dilate bronchi (Karch, 2013, p. 941).
Oxygen therapy is use as additional therapy for COPD patients. Managing the exacerbations includes
treatment such as antibiotic, because bacterial or viral infection can cause exacerbation. Flu and

Security needs to be addressed as a continued lifecycle to be effective. Daily, there are new attack
signatures being developed, viruses and worms being written, natural disasters occurring, changes in
the organization workplace taking place and new technologies evolving, these all effect the security
posture in the organization (King, 2002). This being said, it is important to evaluate firewall and router
rule sets more frequently. The possible threats against this policy include improperly configured
network infrastructure which leads to a domino effect that could start with malicious programming
which could end in data loss. Many of these threats may be unintentional as some users may not be
aware of the risks and how their processes and procedures open the door for such attacks. For this
reason alone, a more frequent evaluation is needed. This vulnerability could lead to data loss and the
exposure of trade secrets, client lists and product design. The exposure of such information for most
companies could mean a financial collapse as it no longer has the competitive edge that makes it the
industry leader. While the likelihood of this threat is very high, security risks to the network exist if
users do not follow the security policy. Security weaknesses emerge when there is no clear cut or
written security policy document. A security policy meets these goals:
i. To inform users, staff and managers of their obligatory requirements

American Laws And The Lgbtq Community
American Laws and the LGBTQ+ Community Discrimination [dih skrim uh ney shuh n]: treatment or
consideration of, or making a distinction in favor of or against, a person or thing based on the group,
class, or category to which that person or thing belongs rather than on individual merit. Right from the
dictionary, the definition is clear. Look back 95 years to 1920, where women across America raised
their voices and fought back for the right to vote. Now take a look back 48 years ago when in 1967,
interracial marriage was finally legalized. These were all monumental events fighting against
discrimination. However, the definition is still blurring in minds of some across America as a
multitude of bills are being passed permitting people to act with bigotry towards members of the
LGBTQ+ community, the Religious Freedom Restoration Acts just being one of them. In discussions
of bills such as the Religious Freedom Restoration Acts, or RFRA s, one controversial issue has been
whether or not they permit discrimination. On one hand, those supporting the laws argue that they
only reinforce the free practice of religion. On the other hand, those against them contend that with
their vagueness it plays out as disguising legal discrimination. My own view is that the RFRA s and
other anti LGBTQ+ laws should be repealed or at the very least backed with a state wide non
discrimination law for LGBTQ+ individuals. This is in order to prevent a large amount of service
being denied to LGBTQ+

Developing the Work Team Essay

same, but they are in fact completely different entities. Three of the main differences are Trust
Leadership Working towards a shared common goal Trust In a team there are high levels of trust

With no established leader objectives will not be made clear.  Stage 2 : Storming During this stage
open conflict between members can be commonplace. There will be challenges to original objectives
and rules. Through this targets can become more realistic and trust is created throughout the team
members, which is beneficial in the long run. There may be disagreements over issues within the
team, with some members agreeing with one view point and while others agree with a differing view,
causing a split within the team. Conflict can also manifest over leadership of the team.  Stage 3 :
Norming This can be classed as a settling in period, where some agreement has been reached and trust
has started to develop. People have started to think of themselves as a team, and new procedures and
roles have been implemented and accepted, enabling the team to function and members to work
together. Ideas are exchanged freely and members are willing to listen and accept other member s
points of view.  Stage 4 : Performing At this stage the team will be harmoniously and they will have
resolved any task or personal issues. Inner related roles will be established, and any issues between
members will have been resolved so all their energy can be put into resolving the task. When problems
arise a solution is found and the team constructively puts all their efforts to perform its task

Atlantic Slave Trade
The origins of the Atlantic Slave Trade were products of Western Europe s expansion of power that
began at the beginning of the 1500 s through the 1900 s. The main contributing European countries to
the Atlantic Slave Trade were Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands, France, and England. Portugal lead the
movement during the 1400 s and arrived in Western Africa in hopes to find Christian allies to spread
Christianity against the Muslims of Northern Africa. But they soon became more interested in trade
(Hine, Hine Harrold, 2011). Slavery, however, has existed in all cultures for thousands of years. For
example, Arab merchants and West African Kings imported white European slaves. At first, the slave
trade focused on women and children who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many times, especially during storms, the slavers neglected to feed the slaves or change the tubs and
buckets used for toilets, as well removing dead bodies (Hine, Hine Harrold, 2011). Sanitation was also
a major contributor to death and disease. Only about three or four toilet tubs were provided for all of
the slaves. Mortality rates were exceptionally high on the ships, averaging around 15%. Overall, about
one third of all slaves died during the whole process of moving them from Africa to the Americas. The
main causes of mortality on the ships were diseases such as small pox, malaria, dysentery, yellow
fever and measles (Hine, Hine Harrold, 2011).
There was however still rebellions from the captive slaves aboard the ships. Rebellions usually
occurred when the ship was getting ready to set sail or when they ships were still within sight of the
Africa land mass, when there was still hope for the slaves to return home. Often times slaves would
actually starve themselves intentionally or try to jump off the ship to drown. But to combat this, the
slavers would sometimes put nets on the side of the ship to stop jumpers and to deal with those who
would refuse to eat, the slavers would use hot coals to force individual s mouths open to eat (Hine,
Hine Harrold, 2011). The women aboard the slave ships were treated very badly as well. They were
often raped and sexually abused. Many times, all of the women were kept in separate rooms to make it

A Commercialized Christmas Essay
One can almost cut through the irony of hearing Bing Crosby sing It s beginning to look a lot like
Christmas on the radio when the temperature is sixty and the first frost of winter is still weeks away.
As citizens of the United States in this day and age, people are most likely all too accustomed with
this typical rush promoted between important festivities. It s exclusively about generating maximum
revenue for the large corporations as frantic shoppers attempt to assuage their stress through hour
upon hour of incessant shopping; arising in our society today, an important question of whether or not

Within our culture, it seems to be of much more convenience to attend a Christmas Eve sale at Macy s

spirit of the season the togetherness, the contentment, and the unadulterated joy when the only thing
singed into our minds is the need to prepare for the next quickly approaching holiday. Before you can

The History Of Cristiano Ronaldo
The History of Cristiano Ronaldo Since the beginning of time humans have found exercise as a fun
way to stay healthy and enjoy life. Although many exercises and sports have been invented since, one
sport has taken the spot light from the others. Soccer also known as football, is a game played by two
teams both containing 11 players on the field and two goalie boxes on each side of the field. The rules
to the game are very simple, the only players allowed to use full contact with the ball are the goalies
other than that the rest of the players cannot touch the ball with their hands; with the objective being to
try to shoot the round ball into your opponent s goal. Since the start of soccer is have become the most
popular sport, in fact according to a 2001 FIFA survey, over 240 million people regularly play soccer
in more than 200 countries, in every part of the world (Murray Bill). With the love soccer has received
the world has witnessed great soccer players, but none like Cristiano Ronaldo from being a father,
model, businessman to best soccer player in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo has definitely left a print in
soccer history. On February 5, 1985 the birth of arguably the greatest soccer player of all time

Hunting Is Not A Fair Thing
Hunting, meaning tracking or trapping of wild animals is one of the oldest activities known to
mankind. Back in the days, hunting was a necessity of life for our ancestors to be able to obtain food
for nourishment. People still hunt animals for food, but it s more of a recreational activity now and
laws govern which specific animals can be hunted. People who disagree about hunting say that it is
detrimental to the beautiful nature, which results in numerous accidents every year and is simply cruel
to animals. According to U.S Fish and Wildlife Services, only about 12.5 million people in America
participated in hunting activities in the year of 2006. This is a very small number (less than 5 percent)
when compared to more than 300 million population of the country. There are many non hunters in
this country that believe that hunting is not a fair thing to animals, but they don t realize that there are
many benefits that come with hunting.
Hunting is something that is considered by many people to be immoral, cruel, and an unethical
practice. However, there are many of us who truly support hunting because it can control animal
populations, brings tourism to small towns, provides family oriented recreation, and greatly promote
appreciation of the wilderness. The Human Society of the United States reported that less than 2
percent of animals that Americans interact with are killed by hunters. The remaining 98 percent are
farm animals, which are killed every year for

The Rhetorical Analysis Of Benjamin Banneker s Letter
Analysis of Benjamin Banneker s Letter
Benjamin Banneker wrote a letter to Thomas Jefferson and George Washington in it he states, We hold
these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, and that they are endowed by their
creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness
which presents the facts that all men should be treated equally (Banneker 21). This is not happening,
therefore Benjamin Banneker was obliged to write a letter. In his letter, he suggests the abolition of
slavery because, as stated in his letter, all men are created equal (Banneker 23). In Benjamin Banneker
s letter to Thomas Jefferson he exploits fear tactics and formal diction to effectively persuade Thomas
Jefferson and George Washington.
Benjamin Banneker utilizes fear tactics to efficiently drive his point of abolishing slavery home. In his
letter he states, you cannot but acknowledge that the present freedom of mercifully received and that it
is the peculiar blessings of Heaven (Banneker 11). This quote displays fear tactics directed at Jefferson
and Washington because he is implying that even though everything is tranquil now because of the
blessings from heaven, it will not be if slavery continues. Therefore, making Thomas Jefferson and
George Washington fearful of what Benjamin Banneker will do or what will happen if slavery is not
abolished. Making the two men fearful is an effective way for Benjamin to get his point

How Did The Armenian Genocide Affect Society
The Armenian Genocide was a planned murder of the Armenians, due to the ethnic differences
between the Turks and the Armenians, which was spurred by the rising atrocities due to a suspicion
that the Armenians were not faithful to the Ottoman Turks. A rising question around this research was
to what extent did the Armenian Genocide affect the religious, political, economic, and social aspects
of society? The Armenian Genocide resulted in discrimination against the Christian Armenians
through separating the Armenians from the Ottoman Turks, granting less rights for the Armenians in
fear that the Armenians would abuse their power as they were viewed as very untrustworthy, and for
this reason the Armenians had less wealth and power than the Ottoman Turks. Another major reason
for the genocide was the desire of the Ottomans in creating a homogenous Turkish state.
I chose this topic because I am genuinely interested about how discrimination has affected populations
and what effect that has had on both populations the one being discriminated and the one
discriminating. The Armenian Genocide was the mass massacre of Armenians by a group of reformers
that took power in 1908, known as the Young Turks (Vahagn 797). These reformers believed that the
Armenians posed a threat to Turkey, especially during World War I. Due to this, the Armenians were
discriminated against before the genocide, as the Christian Armenians were thought to ... Show more

Comparing The Film Cinderella And Charles Perrault s...
A Fairytale s Interpretation Movies create a new medium for fairytales to be enjoyed. The visual
appeal of tales is much greater rather than reading them; however, fairytale films lack an element of
imagination. Cinderella, for example, is a tale that exists in both the written and visual mediums. The
tale as written by Charles Perrault, named The Little Glass Slipper, provides room for imaginative
visual interpretation from his words. An interpretation that movies do not allow. In both the film
version and Perrault s written version, for instance, the audience receives the image of the glass
slipper. The written version allows the audience to imagine the glass slipper in whichever way they
see fit; the film portrays the glass slipper ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Using words in a fairytale would be more difficult and tedious to explain this part of the story. Films
do provide a visual stimulation for audiences, and this Cinderella live action movie provides an
interesting depiction of the fairytale.
Charles Perrault s The Little Glass Slipper provides a readable version of the Cinderella fairytale. This
well known version of Cinderella was not his first take of this tale, which may be how it became so
famous: he managed all the kinks out of the tale for it to be child and adult friendly. This written tale
gives you more context to the tale by the language used. The wording in the story provide deeper
meaning by the connotation of the words. Such language includes odious, wretched, wench,
magnificent, charming, and treasure. These words have ideas around them that associate feelings and
previous experiences. These feelings allow the audience to use their own imagination and experiences
to illustrate the fairytale. When Perrault describes Cinderella s treatment from her step family, this
scene can identify with many readers, thus making their own inferences about the visual aspect of the
tale and its characters. An example would be interpreting it as the demeaning hands and knees labor
while scrubbing soot off the floor. Others can view their own version of hard labor.
Charles Perrault s The Little Glass Slipper shares plot similarities with the Disney film version, but
Disney adds more theatrical elements to their

Mrs. Mallard Character Analysis
In a short story titled The Story of an Hour written by Kate Chopin in the late 1800s, Mrs. Mallard
represents a key character in the story, also known as the protagonist. This story discusses a loveless
and repressive marriage between Mrs. Louise Mallard and Mr. Brently Mallard. This identifies as
unusual, considering that in this time period society deemed that a woman simply could not live
without a man. Kate Chopin introduces Mrs. Mallard as an independent yet repressed woman, which
automatically infers problems between the married couple. Mrs. Mallard unveils her true self after
losing her husband. She becomes overwhelmed with independence and awaits the new possibilities of
living a life she can claim her own. Mrs. Mallard represents a woman who struggles with personal
independence, emotional sufferings, and physical ailments. Mrs. Mallard feels trapped in an
oppressive marriage. When Mr. Mallard passes she feels a sense of vast independence. She embraces
her new life after death experience and discovers a newfound sense of freedom. In The Story of an
Hour Kate Chopin clarifies Mrs. Mallard s emotions after her husband s death by stating, Into this she
sank, pressed down by a physical exhaustion that haunted her body and seemed to reach into her soul.

Code Switching
Code switching is a surviving skill that some bilingual people and students encompass, sometimes to
compensate for the lack of vocabulary in a certain language. It is defined as language alteration
between two languages, transferring from one language to another in the course of a conversation
(Brice, p. 10) In the teaching field code switching has a great importance because it can be used by
teachers or students in story telling to aid interaction, comprehension, and classroom participation,
since the development of literacy requires comprehension narrative, and vocabulary skills, code
switching offers help in this aspect. For those who are bilingual especially in Spanish and English,

Those who oppose and highly criticize the use of code switching in a bilingual person daily life and in
the educational area, believe that the brain is divided in two categorie4s and that the first language is
in one side of the brain and that the second language is in the other side. The human brain is not
divided and it has been proven that knowledge is transferred from one language to another; also the
first language is more familiar to the person than the second language that the person is acquiring or
has already acquired. The concepts of the water cycle, counting, the world etc. can transfer to the
second language; the concepts do not stay only in one language. For example, if a person gains
knowledge about cloud formation in the native language, his or her knowledge can easily transfer into
the second language through acquiring the proper vocabulary to express the topic. However, if a
student has no background knowledge of a topic and the new knowledge is presented along with the
new vocabulary the student or the person is going to feel lost. An example of this can be to give
directions to a person who does not know the concepts of north, south, east, and west, and someone

Manipulative Grandmother
The grandmother of the story, in A Good Man is Hard to Find, by Flannery O Connor, a stereotypical
old lady, finds herself in the middle of a life or death situation, her reason for living is because she is a
woman. Not to mention she is selfish, the Grandma is only asking for her survival when the rest of her
family is on the verge of death, including her own son. No one is perfect in this story. The father of the
children has a dry attitude, e.g., He didn t have a naturally sunny disposition. The mother shows no

scenarios, e.g., I wouldn t live in a broken down place like this for a million bucks.
As the family voyages on a vacation, a manipulative grandmother insists on visiting an old house she
remembers from when she was young. By persisting and hinting, she gets the entire family to turn
around to search for the house. From the beginning the grandma has not been tolerable. She argued

Stereotypes Of Being Women
On the left side, is what the stereotypes of being female. I chose pictures such as the white rose and
the Sports Illustrated cover to show the contrast between the expectations of being pure and the
expectation of being sexual. The image with the longer shows that women are expected to have long,
processed hair. The pie, a soft blanket, a diamond ring, and mother holding her child represents the
expectation to be maternal and having to want to be married. The high heels, perfume and Marilyn

Teachers Practice Through Effective Continuing...
Introduction
It is argued that to achieve educational reform and improve student learning, that the transforming of
teachers practice through effective continuing professional learning is paramount (Hattie, 2003).
Dinham (2012) proposes that quality teaching is vital in terms of equity in allowing all students to
improve their life chances, the processes of supervision and appraisal are crucial in enabling
individuals to undertake self reflective learning that leads to improved teacher practice and better
student outcomes. Jensen (2010) states that improving the quality of Australia s teachers will create
the greatest improvements in student performance, and (provide) consequent economic and social
benefits (p.63). Yet, for many teachers the notion of supervision and appraisal is seen as a threatening
process, and effective leadership is required to bring cultural change that allows these processes to be
empowering in instigating teacher improvement. This response will seek to explore the usage of the
terms supervision and appraisal, deliberate the value of these processes and describe principles of
leadership required to implement them in an effective manner.
Supervision and Appraisal
Before devising a set of principles that might lead to effective implementation of supervision and
appraisal in practice, it is essential to define the terms. Within the literature, it appears that both
supervision and appraisal have been described in a number of different ways. For some

Following Johns Model of Structured Reflection
For this reflective piece I am going to write about a situation I encountered whilst on my community
placement with the district nurse. To write the essay I will be following Johns model of structured
reflection as a basis to structure my reflection around.
Johns Model of Structured Reflection (Johns 1998)
1.Write a description of the experience. Ask yourself:
* What are the significant issues I need to pay attention to?

How did I feel in this situation?
What internal factors were influencing me?
During the whole situation from the moment we pulled up out side the house I was very nervous and
wanting to give a good impression only made this worse. Once we had entered the house and met Tom
I calmed down a little. I was surprised at my own reaction of distaste when I entered the house and
encounter a grumpy drunk so early in the morning; I had no prior knowledge of his situation (Claire
later informed me that his wife had recently divorced him and he was having difficulties coping).
When Claire asked me to do the drops I declined, at the time I was annoyed with myself for missing
the opportunity to practice my clinical skills.
4.Ethics: ask yourself:
Did my actions match with my beliefs?
What factors made me act in incongruent ways?
In refection my actions did not match the beliefs I held about myself before coming on community.
From my time on my ward placements I thought I had built up a good professional attitude and could
work my way around difficult situations. What I was not prepared for was how much; the lack of
familiar surroundings would affect my actions and how nervous I felt about giving a good impression
to Claire and the patients.

How Cyberpunk Is A Neutral Connotation Of Accelerationism...
Cyberpunk is a neutral connotation of accelerationism situated between the left and right wings. Like
a perpendicular spike with equal magnitude that juts from the tangential line that connects the forward

with radically different faces. The left, which aims at moving away from capitalism and its hindering
effects which hold back true unbridled technological growth and the right which, on the other hand,
aims at advancing the technological state to increase capital, consumerism and the spectacle as

Shelmes And Watson Comparison
The stories of Sherlock Holmes provide us with two fictional characters that are virtually polar
opposites: Holmes and Watson. Holmes is the observant, deceptive, know it all detective, and Watson
is his somewhat unobservant, quiet, and intelligent assistant. Many may discover that one of the two
are somewhat relatable. In my case, that relatable character would be Watson. Therefore, my
personality and actions are more similar to Watson s than they are to Holmes s. I am more like Watson
considering as I am a loyal companion, I have emotions, and I accept that I do not know everything.
One way that I am similar to Watson is that I have been a loyal comrade to several people. The prime
example of this would be his submissive actions in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

to visit my father and grandmother (at different times) when they were in the hospital. Their lives are
more important. To put family over profession is to put love over greed, and I believe that I do that
well. Watson, like me, does not become upset when reminded that there are many concepts that he
does not know or observe. He is reminded of this by Holmes in The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle.
I can see nothing, said I, handing it back to my friend. On the contrary, Watson, you can see
everything. You fail, however, to reason from what you see. You are too timid in drawing inferences.
Then pray, tell me, what is it that you can infer from this hat? (Doyle 2).This shows Watson being

Family Values In The Poisonwood Bible
Today, all around the world people express their different and unique cultures everyday. If we were to
go halfway around the world things that would seem weird to us would be normal to them. What
makes people so quick to judge others when they have different ways of life than us? In the novel The
Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver an American family travels from Georgia to the Congo, and
they have one goal in mind. Their goal is to spread the word of God, their baptist beliefs, and
American values to the locals. However, the family fails to see that the Congolese people are not in
need of a change of faith and lifestyle. The family is thrown into a difficult lifestyle in the Congo with
many challenging obstacles that change some of the family members views and values. With the
exception of the father, Nathan. In The Poisonwood Bible the values and culture of both the American
family and the Congolese people help shape the theme of America s over reach in third world
countries and the destruction it creates. Americans have always had a sense of pride and superiority
over other cultures and societies. During the 1950s, the time when the novel starts to take place,
Americans were especially prideful. There was a new age of home technology and Nathan price was
determined to keep his family s faith in check. Nathan Price feels like he is sort of a god figure and the
people who live in Africa are less then him. It is described in the novel that the Congolese

Taylor deals with some of the worst situations a person could have thrown at them, but she manages to

expressed by their behavior. Growing up with negative and disciplinary parents, it can impact a child s

progenitor, and if they have meager parents then they may grow up to be just like them. Another study

there is the chance that the child will fall behind grade level by age 18. Pupils that live in poverty that

The corporate branding strategy will create a sort of umbrella under which all the properties of the
company will fall, thus sharing the same quality level in the customer s perception. Moreover a strong
corporate brand will ease the company identification and potentially increase the number of new
guests through word of mouth, thus enabling the company to gain a bigger market share. Nevertheless
the implementation of such a strategy will necessarily involve big costs and a structural change in the
organization. Its culture, the way in which advertising is done, the facilities and supplies in each
resorts, the way in which management operates will have to be adapted to the new branding strategy.
Furthermore undertaking this action may let down some valuable customers who are particularly
affectionate to a resort and may be afraid that it will lose its unique and individual features. Plus it
might also disappoint some skilled hotel managers which may feel threatened in their autonomy and
potentially leave the company. Retraining the whole body of employees to adapt to the new strategy
may be expensive and time consuming as well.
CLV analysis
As far as the pure economic aspect of the decision concerns, the implementation of a corporate
branding strategy would increase the Customer Lifetime Value and therefore the profits of the
company, as calculated in the attached

How Annual Planetary Albedo Is Affected By The Forcing...
In this section, we will look at how each factor was affected by the forcing boundary conditions set in
the six experiments we ran. The results section will be organized in sections by factor.
Annual Planetary Albedo
First we will address results about how annual planetary albedo was affected by altering the forcings
in the simulations. Overall, when comparing Control Experiment (Modern Specified SST) to Primary
Experiment 3 (Ice Age 21kya run), we observed a relatively higher planetary albedo during the Last
Glacial Maximum, with an average of 2.37% increase. In areas with known ice sheets, such as the
Laurentide Ice Sheet over the upper section of North America or the Scandinavian Ice Sheet over
Northern Europe, there was a much more drastic change in albedo. In these regions, the albedo was
significantly higher during the LGM, up to 27% higher in certain areas. Albedo was also higher south
of the equator in the oceans surrounding the Antarctic. Some parts of the earth had a near neutral
change in planetary albedo, mostly in low latitude areas like the tropics. This can be seen in Figure 1.
When put side by side, Figure 1 shows little resemblance to Figure 2, the map comparing annual
planetary albedo of Primary Experiment 1 and the Control Experiment. This comparison shows little
to no consistent change in albedo between the two eras, with a planetary average change of 0.02%.
There are clusters of regions with a very high increase in albedo between the modern

First And Second Language Acquisition Essay
Language acquisition is the process of receiving and producing the languages they should understand
well the words and the sentences to communicate with each other. It is the process whereby children
achieve a fluent control of their native language. The first language is defined as the primary language
not necessary mother tongue which the speaker first acquires and use. There is a great difference
between first and second language acquisition. First language acquisition refers to the way children
learn their native language. Second language acquisition refers to the learning of another language or
languages besides the native language
The acquisition of language

they never heard before. They have a great and perfect theory of language, which able them to make

sentence by using verbs and nouns, no one tells them how to form plurals, and they can do that by
themselves depending on what they hear from adults or others. They also get and acquire language

In today s society, people are closed minded, and do not take the opportunity getting to know the other

cultures, norms, beliefs and values we should all respect each other differences. We should consider
learning from one another and not judge a person based on their race, ethnicity, gender and religion.

Checking on Facebook, surfing Instagram, or taking selfies to put on Snapchat. In my opinion, I feel

Many individuals have made astounding contributions to society in the past 200 years; however, some
of these contributions were so powerful, they effectively changed the future of our world. Louis
Pasteur, born December 27th, 1822, in the town of Dole, Eastern France, is one of the most
noteworthy individuals to live during the last 200 years. Responsible for a myriad of accomplishments
ranging from the debunking of the infamous spontaneous generation theory to the method named after

To begin with, Pasteur can be credited with the discovery the existence of molecular asymmetry,
which effectively created the field of science known as Stereochemistry. In the ten years following his
discovery, Pasteur further investigated the ability of organic substances to rotate the plane of polarized
light; with the information from his studies, he became convinced him that asymmetry was one of the
fundamental characteristics of living matter, a vastly important contribution to the field of science in
general. In addition to this, Stereochemistry allows us to know how a certain molecule will interact
with an organism; anti nausea medications in the 1950 s that created devastating birth defects with

In 1854, Pasteur was appointed professor of chemistry and dean of the science faculty at the

According to Thomas (1994), temperature control or thermoregulation in the neonate is a critical

St George´s Hospital guidelines suggest that the acceptable range for axial temperature is 36.6 37.2°C.

Voltaire s View Of Oppression From The Authority
It is dangerous to be right in matters about which the established authorities are wrong.
Voltaire
The struggles against authority, repeatedly and continuously, take place in the history. As for those
fighters, Voltaire, a famous French writer and thinker, once put forward an idea, It is dangerous to be
right in matters about which the established authorities are wrong. () The word right contrasting to
wrong means the truth. An established authorities could be regarded to the dominant powers
controlling and guiding people, such as long existing conventions held and propagated by the power
holders or the influential experts in specific fields. The article will support the idea of Voltaire by
providing sufficient and concrete evidences. It is reasonable that people might suffer the possibility of
oppression from the authority, when the ideas of the former contrasts to the latter who tend to retain its
status. The challenger is dangerous in the way that the power of authorities, at most time, overwhelm
them; the characteristic of opposing ideas invites the oppression by authority. It is possible to receive
potential danger from the authority, while some did succeed in the struggle.
It is obvious that the comparison between two power is usually dismatched. The opponents are often
overshadowed by the authorities, in turn, the opponents are weaker, two aspects in particular.

American Laws And The Lgbtq Community American Laws and the LGBTQ+ Community Discrimination [dih skrim uh ney shuh n]: treatment or consideration of, or making a distinction in favor of or against, a person or thing based on the group, class, or category to which that person or thing belongs rather than on individual merit. Right from the dictionary, the definition is clear. Look back 95 years to 1920, where women across America raised their voices and fought back for the right to vote. This is in order to prevent a large amount of service being denied to LGBTQ+ ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Portugal lead the movement during the 1400 s and arrived in Western Africa in hopes to find Christian allies to spread Christianity against the Muslims of Northern Africa. But they soon became more interested in trade (Hine, Hine Harrold, 2011). Slavery, however, has existed in all cultures for thousands of years. Mortality rates were exceptionally high on the ships, averaging around 15%. Overall, about one third of all slaves died during the whole process of moving them from Africa to the Americas. The main causes of mortality on the ships were diseases such as small pox, malaria, dysentery, yellow fever and measles (Hine, Hine Harrold, 2011). There was however still rebellions from the captive slaves aboard the ships. Rebellions usually occurred when the ship was getting ready to set sail or when they ships were still within sight of the Africa land mass, when there was still hope for the slaves to return home. Often times slaves would actually starve themselves intentionally or try to jump off the ship to drown. But to combat this, the slavers would sometimes put nets on the side of the ship to stop jumpers and to deal with those who would refuse to eat, the slavers would use hot coals to force individual s mouths open to eat (Hine, Hine Harrold, 2011). Back in the days, hunting was a necessity of life for our ancestors to be able to obtain food for nourishment. People still hunt animals for food, but it s more of a recreational activity now and laws govern which specific animals can be hunted. People who disagree about hunting say that it is detrimental to the beautiful nature, which results in numerous accidents every year and is simply cruel to animals. According to U.S Fish and Wildlife Services, only about 12.5 million people in America participated in hunting activities in the year of 2006. This is not happening, therefore Benjamin Banneker was obliged to write a letter. In Benjamin Banneker s letter to Thomas Jefferson he exploits fear tactics and formal diction to effectively persuade Thomas Jefferson and George Washington. Benjamin Banneker utilizes fear tactics to efficiently drive his point of abolishing slavery home. In his letter he states, you cannot but acknowledge that the present freedom of mercifully received and that it is the peculiar blessings of Heaven (Banneker 11). How Did The Armenian Genocide Affect Society The Armenian Genocide was a planned murder of the Armenians, due to the ethnic differences between the Turks and the Armenians, which was spurred by the rising atrocities due to a suspicion that the Armenians were not faithful to the Ottoman Turks. A rising question around this research was to what extent did the Armenian Genocide affect the religious, political, economic, and social aspects of society? The Armenian Genocide resulted in discrimination against the Christian Armenians through separating the Armenians from the Ottoman Turks, granting less rights for the Armenians in fear that the Armenians would abuse their power as they were viewed as very untrustworthy, and for this reason the Armenians had less wealth and power than the Ottoman Turks. Another major reason for the genocide was the desire of the Ottomans in creating a homogenous Turkish state. I chose this topic because I am genuinely interested about how discrimination has affected populations and what effect that has had on both populations the one being discriminated and the one discriminating. The Armenian Genocide was the mass massacre of Armenians by a group of reformers that took power in 1908, known as the Young Turks (Vahagn 797). Using words in a fairytale would be more difficult and tedious to explain this part of the story. Films do provide a visual stimulation for audiences, and this Cinderella live action movie provides an interesting depiction of the fairytale. Charles Perrault s The Little Glass Slipper provides a readable version of the Cinderella fairytale. This well known version of Cinderella was not his first take of this tale, which may be how it became so famous: he managed all the kinks out of the tale for it to be child and adult friendly. This written tale gives you more context to the tale by the language used. The wording in the story provide deeper meaning by the connotation of the words. Such language includes odious, wretched, wench, magnificent, charming, and treasure. These words have ideas around them that associate feelings and previous experiences. These feelings allow the audience to use their own imagination and experiences to illustrate the fairytale. Then pray, tell me, what is it that you can infer from this hat? (Doyle 2).This shows Watson being reminded that he is not all knowing and not lashing out. He takes it, knowing it is true. Although I am a terrible perfectionist, I understand that I am far from perfect and all knowing. I, too, am well aware of my own ignorance and the ignorance of humankind ... Your primary goal in life is to make important things happen. That was the feedback that I received after completing the lengthy MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator) test years ago. At that time, I had no idea what, making important things happen, meant to me. Through the exploration of different fields, from academic research to real world experiences, I discovered a huge passion for real estate development and investment. I studied architecture for three years in college and spent a summer working as an architect intern at XWG Architecture Studio in Beijing, China. During that time, I participated in a commercial complex project in Beijing and an industrial park project in Wuhan. I was busy the entire summer creating models and drawing diagrams. The Impact Of Poverty In The Bean Trees Families all over the world experience struggles such as poverty that could lead to depression, but if you have the perseverance like Taylor in The Bean Trees, you can successfully survive in society. Taylor deals with some of the worst situations a person could have thrown at them, but she manages to deal with these issues, while providing for herself and her child. Many families all over America experience poverty, and the ones who are most affected are the children. The impact of poverty on families can affect a child s growth and development. Poverty and the Effects on parents and Children, Nagel states, Families in poverty, when parents are working, are influenced by the kind of occupations in which the parents work. Kohn has found that lower class parents look at their children s behavior with a focus on its immediate consequences and its external characteristics, whereas middle class parents explore their children s motives and the attitudes expressed by their behavior. Growing up with negative and disciplinary parents, it can impact a child s moral and emotional growth through life. Children grow up by the examples and actions of their progenitor, and if they have meager parents then they may grow up to be just like them. Another study conducted by the U.S. Department of Education found that for every year a child spends in poverty, there is the chance that the child will fall behind grade level by age 18. Nevertheless the implementation of such a strategy will necessarily involve big costs and a structural change in the organization. Its culture, the way in which advertising is done, the facilities and supplies in each resorts, the way in which management operates will have to be adapted to the new branding strategy. • 33. How Annual Planetary Albedo Is Affected By The Forcing... In this section, we will look at how each factor was affected by the forcing boundary conditions set in the six experiments we ran. The results section will be organized in sections by factor. Annual Planetary Albedo First we will address results about how annual planetary albedo was affected by altering the forcings in the simulations. Overall, when comparing Control Experiment (Modern Specified SST) to Primary Experiment 3 (Ice Age 21kya run), we observed a relatively higher planetary albedo during the Last Glacial Maximum, with an average of 2.37% increase. In areas with known ice sheets, such as the Laurentide Ice Sheet over the upper section of North America or the Scandinavian Ice Sheet over Northern Europe, there was a much more drastic change in albedo. In these regions, the albedo was significantly higher during the LGM, up to 27% higher in certain areas. Albedo was also higher south of the equator in the oceans surrounding the Antarctic. Some parts of the earth had a near neutral change in planetary albedo, mostly in low latitude areas like the tropics. This can be seen in Figure 1. When put side by side, Figure 1 shows little resemblance to Figure 2, the map comparing annual planetary albedo of Primary Experiment 1 and the Control Experiment. This comparison shows little to no consistent change in albedo between the two eras, with a planetary average change of 0.02%. There are clusters of regions with a very high increase in albedo between the modern ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

First And Second Language Acquisition Essay Language acquisition is the process of receiving and producing the languages they should understand well the words and the sentences to communicate with each other. It is the process whereby children achieve a fluent control of their native language. The first language is defined as the primary language not necessary mother tongue which the speaker first acquires and use. There is a great difference between first and second language acquisition. First language acquisition refers to the way children learn their native language. Second language acquisition refers to the learning of another language or languages besides the native language The acquisition of language Is doubtless the greatest intellectual feat anyone of us is ever required to perform Leonard Bloomfield, Language (1933) People can live their life without learning reading or writing, but they can speak, understand and discuss their ideas and thoughts. All the children can understand some words and sentences which they never heard before. They have a great and perfect theory of language, which able them to make and understand the grammar of the language they hear. No one tells the children how to make a sentence by using verbs and nouns, no one tells them how to form plurals, and they can do that by themselves depending on what they hear from adults or others. They also get and acquire language through the interaction with others. Every human being is able to learn the language because it is a natural ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Cell Phone Etiquette Essay Cell Phone Etiquette Jasmyne Ness Montana State University Billings Today, cellphones have now became a support for the lives of many Americans. This has caused a struggle for some users to approach the social norms and etiquette of cell phone usage. When I was younger, I remember going to my parents company Christmas parties and hardly ever seeing a cell phone being used. Now, when I go to my own company Christmas parties, all I ever notice is people on their cellphones constantly. Checking on Facebook, surfing Instagram, or taking selfies to put on Snapchat. In my opinion, I feel like cell phones have taken over face to face conversations and rely more on their digital screen. When I m trying to have a face to face conversation with someone, I find it frustrating when the other person is on their phone while I m talking. Another example, when people are having a dinner with a significant other or even just a good friend and you find them constantly on their phone. Today, this is a common sight to see when dining out. I believe that this should come to a stop. When I go out to dinner with my family or just friends I always put my phone in the middle of the table, face down, to avoid being tempted to use it. By doing this I am able to have an actual conversation with my family. I have always obeyed this, but you always seem to have one, two, or even more that don t follow this rule. Louis Pasteur, born December 27th, 1822, in the town of Dole, Eastern France, is one of the most noteworthy individuals to live during the last 200 years. Responsible for a myriad of accomplishments ranging from the debunking of the infamous spontaneous generation theory to the method named after him today, pasteurization, Mr. Pasteur is responsible for bestowing upon us some of the modern day conveniences we enjoy daily. To begin with, Pasteur can be credited with the discovery the existence of molecular asymmetry, which effectively created the field of science known as Stereochemistry. In the ten years following his discovery, Pasteur further investigated the ability of organic substances to rotate the plane of polarized light; with the information from his studies, he became convinced him that asymmetry was one of the fundamental characteristics of living matter, a vastly important contribution to the field of science in general. In addition to this, Stereochemistry allows us to know how a certain molecule will interact with an organism; anti nausea medications in the 1950 s that created devastating birth defects with flipper like appendages is just one example of the consequences of not following this man s research. In 1854, Pasteur was appointed professor of chemistry and dean of the science faculty at the University of Lille (Ullmann, Louis ). Whilst employed at Lille, he accepted a plea for studying solutions to problems associated to alcohol production at a local distillery, and with this catalyst, he began a series of studies on alcoholic fermentation. The concept of reflective practice, popularized by Schön s (1983) work, has been applied in nursing for various purposes, including as a way to narrow the gap between theory and practice in clinical practice(Clarke, 1986) and a way to discover knowledge embedded in practice (Benner at al. 1996). Reflection, or thinking about our experiences, is the key to learning. St George´s Hospital guidelines suggest that the acceptable range for axial temperature is 36.6 37.2°C. This range should be maintained at all times to allow normal physiological function and body metabolism. The nursing diagnosis of hypothermia is the state in which an individual s body temperature is reduced below normal range (Wilkinson, 2000, p. 205). Term and specially pre term infants are more susceptible to become cold and hypothermic.
