I volunteered at Jubilee Park Community Center on Thursday, November 16, 2017 for their annual
Thanksgiving Dinner Feast from 11:00am to 2:00 pm. The local church in the area provided a
delightful meal consisting of Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole, rolls
and an assortment of holiday deserts. Dozens of volunteers were on hand to make sure that this
celebration went off without a hitch. I had the pleasure of signing guests into the communitycenter
and directing them to the entrance of the banquet hall. Most of the people that showed up were
people that live in the community and utilize the center on a regular basis. According to the
website, the mission of Jubilee Park and Community Center is to be a catalyst for community
renewal and enrichment to the Jubilee Park Neighborhood, a 62 block area in southeast Dallas.
The majority of families here are working poor who are under served in terms of education and
health resources (Mission, n.d.). Working the sign in table allowed me to interact with people of
different ages, religions, and colors. I met wonderfully diverse individuals and many of the elderly

Norman killed his dad. His dad was fighting with Norma and it was getting physical. Norman was
washing dishes and blacks out and then hits his dad over the head killing him. Norma is
shocked and then tells Norman to go to his room, as he is still out of it and he goes to his room.
That is when Norma moves the body to the garage and sets it up like he died from an accident.
