Analysis Of Mutability By Percy Bysshe Shelley Essay
Portfolio Part B Mutability (Greenblatt 752 753) is a poem written by the Romantic poet Percy Bysshe
Shelley in 1816. The Oxford English Dictionary defines the word Mutability as: Liability or tendency
to change. (OED Online) Mutability was most probably written in order to portray Shelley s own
views that humans do not have control over changes which occur in their own lives. However, it
asserts Shelley s belief that, Nought may endure but Mutability. Shelley demonstrates this idea by
using various literary devices, diction, and a sombre tone which is reflected through his choice of
writing in the lyric form. Mutability was written at a time when Shelley experienced significant life
changing events; January 1816 saw the birth of his first child to Mary Shelley, in the same year
Shelley experienced financial struggles, and the suicide of his first wife Harriet in December 1816. (O
Neill, M.) In addition to the changes he endured in his personal life, Shelley was very much aware of
the changes happening during 1816 which was named, The year without a summer due to extreme
changes in weather. During his trip to Switzerland, Shelley and a group of other Romantic poets began
to create works to reflect this time of great change. (Gardiner, Lisa) This is significant as being
exposed to so much change during 1816 more than likely inspired Shelley to write Mutability to
demonstrate the human ability to accept and embrace change, as it cannot be prevented.

Homework 01 Holistic Detective Dubh Harshly needs to send important photographic evidence and
confidential documents to his partner regarding the sudden appearance of apparent Elder Gods at the
nearby restaurant supply store. His only immediately available option is to transmit the data from his
ultraportable laptop, across the internet via his e mail app, to his e mail server back at the agency
(read: storage unit). But how can Dubh have any assurance that the data he sends will arrive at the
appropriate destination, and not, say the rouge Hotmail server still being run by his neighbor Ted one

We also want to be able to backup our claims of what we sent, how we sent it, and when it was all

building on the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol originally created by a team at Netscape for
secure transactions on early websites (although similar to SSL, TLS is different enough for them to
not work together). TLS will create a tunnel that is an established connection between source and
destination, through which all packet data AND packet headers are encrypted. However, before TLS
gets involved, Dubh s source machine must first establish a reliable transport protocol with which to
communicate with the destination. In this case, we will (safely) assume that we are using Transmission

How Did Tutankhamun Influence Ancient Egyptian Society
The reign of Tutankhamun had a significant impact on ancient Egyptian society due to the upheaval
the revolution of the very foundation of Egyptian beliefs by Tutankhamun s father Akhenaten created,
followed by the restoration of the original belief system during Tutankhamun s reign. In order to
explore this further, a brief background of Akhenaten s reign needs to be looked at in order to
understand why the main religion of Egypt was changed so suddenly. Tutenkhamun came to the
throne as a young child, therefore he had advisers who would look after state affairs for him. Who
were they and how much control did they have over the young king? Finally the restoration of the old
gods and the relocation of the religious and political centers to ... Show more content on

The political centre was moved back to Memphis whilst Thebes was re established as the religious
centre. Amarna was essentially abandoned. General Horenheb, who was ther King s deputy and
Regent, took control of the political and military affairs from Memphis whilst Ay, the visier, stayed
with the king and his queen and took reponsibility for religious matters. Tutenkhamun moved between
Memphis and Thebes for political or religious reasons. Once the administration had been moved out
of Amarna, an extensive building program was undertaken to allow the recognition that the old gods
had been restored and a strong leadership was once again in place. (Welsh, 2007)
The Restoration stele, found in the Great Hypostyle Hall at Karnak, is described by Ian Shaw as the
most important document of Tutankhamun s reign. It paints a very dire image of the state of the
kingdom when Tutenkhamun inherited the throne. It states:
...the temples and the cities of the gods and goddesses, starting from Elephantine [ as far ] as the delta
marshes..., were fallen into decay and their shrines were fallen into ruin, having become mere mounds

Essay On Concentric Zone Theory
Figure 1: Three Generalisations of Urban Structure
2.2.1.1 Concentric Zone Theory
The concentric zone theory is also known as Burgess model and one of the oldest theoretical models
that describe urban social structures. As shown in Figure 2.1, there are six circles in the model; each
circle represents a zone of social groupings and land uses. As the city grows each zone must spread
and move outward, encroaching onto the next one in the process known as invasion and successions
(Park, 1989). The main feature of this model is to show the positive relationship between the central
business district (CBD) and the socio economic status of the households. However, the main aim of
this model was to describe residential structures and to show how they are organised in the city.
Burgess work is much based on Alonso s bid rent function, which is an explanatory model of land use.
As indicated by the concentric model the first accommodation for the migrant are in the central
business district (CBD), where the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He observed that the highest rent areas of a city tend to be located in one or more sectors of the city
and decreasing in all direction away from the central location (Kumar, 1994). The high grade
residential areas occupied the most desirable space and were responsible for the pattern of urban
growth in the city. The other grades of residential areas were aligned around the high grade areas, with
the lowest grade areas occupying the least desirable land. Hoyt explained that due to the dynamics of
the property market, the obsolete (old) houses vacated by the higher income groups to occupy high
grade areas were transferred to the middle income groups. Vacancies thus created were occupied by
lower income groups. A filter down process was observed when new housing unit was added to the
edge of expanding city (Hoyt,

European Attitudes Towards The American Civil War
In April 1861, the United States declared a state of insurrection against the Confederacy of rebellious
southern states. In Europe, the ordeal was referred to as The American Question. The question could
not be evaded; a choice had to be made between neutrality and intervention. European attitudes
towards the American Civil War would have a significant effect on the war s ultimate outcome
(Randall and Donald 355).
Throughout the early months of the conflict, the reaction of Europe was of great interest to both sides;
Queen Victoria s Great Britain, in particular. Would Queen Victoria recognize Confederate
independence? Such recognition would legitimize the Confederacy and provide it with allies who
could furnish weapons and supplies the Southern cause desperately needed (Davis 197).
At the outbreak of the war, most foreigners were poorly informed about America, according to Leslie
Stephen in 1865:
The name of America five years ago, called up to the ordinary English mind nothing but a vague
cluster of associations, compounded of Mrs. Trollope, Martin Chuzzlewit, and Uncle Tom s Cabin.
The choice between neutrality and intervention was not an easy one; either choice would lead to more
choices. The question dealt with several issues, and it was difficult to read the conflict amidst
threatening demands of angry belligerents. England had to guess the future in order to make a wise
decision while balancing interests at home (Randall and Donald 355).

Economics Is The Study Of The Ownership, Use, And Exchange...
Economics is the study of the ownership, use, and exchange of competing wants Economics is

economic behaviour, which rises when scarce resources are exchanged.

An example would be: A magazine costing £1.00 and then increasing by an extra 20p, the daily sales
would then fall from 500,000 to 250,000 the PED would be:
50% / + 20%
= ( ) 2.5
The negative sign indicates that the Price and the Quantity are related, which you would expect for
most price/demand relationships as a rise in price will fall in the quantity demanded. This is important
due to the magazine supplier being able to estimate the revenue that will be affected by the change in
price. From above, the revenue at £1.00 is £500,000, but falls to £30,000 after the price has risen.
http://www.economicsonline.co.uk/Competitive_markets/Price_elasticity_of_demand.html
The government has many products which are imposed to indirect taxation, an example of this is
inelastic, meaning fuel or alcohol. The price elasticity of demand is important for these products as it
is able to determine how much tax producers can change on consumers as the prices rise.
Companies/Firms are able to use PED in many ways, which enables them to decide the change of
price effected by the total revenue of sales which then the price change that is likely caused by the
supply changes.
Income elasticity of demand
Income elasticity of demand (YED) shows the effect of a change in income on quantity demanded
based on the consumers income, and YED shows precisely the extent to which changes in income lead

Hot Stuff Analysis
Many historians regard the 60 s as the decade of positive change, particularly for minority groups. As
a result the 1970s, which followed the socially impactful 60 s, are often seen as the decade where
nothing happened or, more specifically, nothing good happened . Edward Berkowitz attempts to break
this nothing happened stigma through his novel, appropriately named Something Happened. The
decade of the oil crisis, the Watergate scandal, and the Iranian hostage crisis, also provided legislative
progress for many minority groups. Thomas Borstelmann acknowledges the decade s formal equality
but is wary to accept that society was as progressive. Alice Echols however, asserts that the decade s
dance phenomenon expanded social equality, in her novel Hot Stuff. Echols and Berkowitz
unanimously feel the 70 s made way for increased acceptance of minority groups; despite disagreeing
on which minority groups benefitted. Borstelmann provides a much more skeptical analysis stating the
70s provided formal equality while ...private prejudice and its very real negative impacts still endured
Alice Echols applauds the influence the 70s had on inclusion of previously underrepresented groups;
women, homosexuals and African Americans. The 1970s are associated with identity politics, but they
were also a time when numbers of gay men, African Americans, and women ditched predictable social
script. Echols analysis of the decade is presented through the lens of her own

many Americans who are struggling to pay for care in a system where costs are skyrocketing out of

amount of medical debt that they owe, slowing our economy and reducing reimbursements for

Many believe that healthcare in Canada is free when in fact if you look at it from a policy framework
view it is not. The healthcare system in Canada is financed by government enforced tax rates that vary
in costs depending on family size. income, and province location (Canadian Health Care). While the
federal government creates standards for health care, provincial governments make decisions in
regards to where hospitals should be located, how many physicians each location should have, and the
services that they will provide (Canadian Health Care). Ultimately, if the United States moves to a
single payer system, taxes will increase to pay for the program. The question that often is asked when
discussing a single payer system is how much will my taxes increase and it this cost more than I am
currently paying. This is most often where the debate begins. In 2013 the average tax dedicated to the
healthcare program for a family of 4 in Canada was $11,320 (Esmail). For a family of three with two
parents, the cost was approximately $10,989 (Esmail). This tax pays for all medical care and does not
require additional payments for co pays, deductibles, or out of pocket expenses (Canadian Health
Care). For a family of 4 in America the cost of health care averages $22,030 with an employer paying
$12,886 of that total cost and the remaining $9,144 being paid for by the employee (Esmail). This cost

The Function Of The Human Mitochondrial Chaperonin
Crystal structure allows researchers to understand the functions of any compound. In biochemistry,
structure dictates function. With the use of crystal structure analysis, scientists have a better way of
analyzing specific proteins or enzymes and their function in our body. Observation of the human
mitochondrial chaperonin is important because it assists in folding of mitochondrial proteins that
allow for the production of energy in the cell. It also participates in specific process like apoptosis,
inflammation and carcinogenesis. The study presents the structure of these human mitochondrial
chaperonin to have an American football shaped intermediate. It consists of two 7 membered
chaperoning rings that are capped at each end. The symmetric and asymmetric bindings between the
rings of the chaperonin suggest a mechanism that is distinct from the mechanism of E. Coli.
Chaperonins are one our of the two types of chaperones that assist in protein folding. It does not
actually participate in protein folding, but isolates aggregated protein from other compounds to be able
to interact with its individual strand. It provides a stable environment that ensures proper folding. The
protein comes in contact with the Gro EL GroES complex that has a bullet or a symmetrical football
shaped complex. Here, the intermediate folding of protein is activated. They found that the human

Can Information Systems Provide Businesses with a...
Can information systems provide businesses with a competitive edge? Are such IT related competitive
advantages sustainable in the long run? Why or why not?
In recent years, many businesses have faced an increasingly uncertain future. As a result, there is an
economic imperative to gain advantage over their competitors (Bakos Treacy, 1986). A competitive
advantage is attained when a firm reaches its comparative efficiency or bargaining power (Bakos and
Treacy, 1986). There has been a need for the introduction of information systems into many businesses
due to human limitations, with bounded rationality concerning the memory, computation and

Here, they suggest core competence being a bundle of skills and technologies that enables a company
to provide a particular benefit to customers . This is the main reason for improving information
systems, as they optimally position a company within an existing market and develops foresight into
the whereabouts of tomorrow s market . Information systems should help the business to produce at a
lower cost level. This will enable it to differentiate from its competitors and to analyse other markets
and market sectors it may wish to enter into (Porter, 1980; Porter and Millar, 1985). Using information
systems can potentially raise barriers to entry for new firms who will not have the technology that an
established firm will or, or not have the capital to fund such a system. It can also create ways in which
clients will depend on your business, be able to offer new and idiosyncratic goods and services and
creating business opportunities (Bott et al., 1986, Porter and Millar, 1979).
Information systems providing competitive advantage can be displayed in the retail business. With
high street businesses, rent and wages must be paid. These companies will also have distribution

Cory Mature In Boy s Life

he mentally matured from a boy into a young man. If these things had not happened to his friends then
nothing would have inspired Cory to take action or demonstrate ways that he has

students. The purpose behind this article is to get them to expand their horizon, disregard all the
regulations they have been previously taught and start to write in a much more open minded sense.
Analysis of John Warner s Kill the 5 Paragraph Essay Simply spoken, the aging youth are facing a
very large dilemma when it comes to making the transition from high school to college level courses.
As many have been taught in the past, just as many will be taught in the future, the commonly known
5 paragraph essay is quickly becoming an eyesore in the writer s community. John Warner published
an article in which he deploys a full on assault to persuade others to do away with this type of essay
format all together. In his article Kill the 5 paragraph Essay Warner establishes his credibility, paints
an imaginary picture of the 5 paragraph essay and uses logical and emotional

Reasonable Expectation
Case law up to this point has not been determinative as to when a reasonable expectation of privacy
would exist in regards to text messages. Courts across Canada have been inconsistent in their
decisions on this issue, in some instances by directly claiming the approach taken in other jurisdictions
was blatantly incorrect. Accordingly, when making a claim to a reasonable expectation of privacy in
text messages on the recipient s phone, there are plenty of dissenting opinions to consider. However,
one thing that is well established is that in order to determine whether there is a valid claim for the
accused having a reasonable expectation of privacy the courts must apply the Edwards test and look to
the totality of the circumstances. Accordingly,

Spirit Of The Rainforest Summary
Spirit of the Rainforest is a book written by Mark Andrew Ritchie about the Yanomamö people of the
Amazon. However, the story is told from the perspective of Jungleman a shaman of the people.
Jungleman is a powerful shaman who knows the realities of both the spirit world and the physical
world. His narrative helps the reader understand how important the spirit world is for the Yanomamö
people. Through his storytelling, he highlights the role of shamans in the culture, customs of his
people, and how those customs were affected when the nabas came.
At a young age, the spirits began talking to Jungleman through inanimate objects. He didn t
understand how the trees or the logs could be talking, but soon he realized it was spirits that were
communicating with him. He became a shaman and learned to welcome them, relying on them to lead
him. He took ebene and danced with them.Every night he talked with them and asked them for
advice. After the raid on Potato village, he turned to his spirits to guide him on what was next for his
people. What shall we do now... I asked Jaguar Spirit and the others... (Ritchie,41) As Jungleman
gained experience, he became an influential shaman. His spirits helped him to heal sickness as well as
take revenge on his enemies. In the spirit world, he was able to see things that happened in other
villages, battle with other shamans and try to save children from the great evil spirit Yai Pada.

The Lion and the Ox Essay
Omar Malas AAPTIS 381 Professor Legassick Kalila wa Dimna The Lion and the Ox is a one of the
oldest and most popular pieces of classic Arabic literature. Originally from India, this animal fable is
famous for its inclusion of many other animal fables, each of which help provide the characters of the
story with advice regarding their situation. Unlike The Arabian Nights, which also uses a frame tale
that contains each tale, multiple animals share their wisdom with one another. The wisdom of the story
s two main characters, Kalila and Dimna, help foreshadow and motivate the events of the frame tale
and bring it to a reasonable yet tragic conclusion. Kalila, one of the two main jackals of the frame tale,
is living in the court of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Approaching Kalila after this initial failure, Dimna explains his new plan to destroy the ox using a
parable within a parable: the story of the heron and the crab within the story of the raven and the
snake. A snake has made it a habit of eating the raven s eggs every time one is laid. The raven
complains to it to stop, but to no avail. When the raven complains to the jackal of its problem and how
it hopes to solve the problem by clawing the snakes eyes out, the jackal tells her the parable of the
heron and the crab. Briefly, the old heron uses the innocent crab to trick the fish by claiming that the
fishermen are coming to wipe them out and that he can help them by each day carrying them to a pool
where they will be safe. The fish agree to the heron s trick. The heron carries a few fish away each
day, but as soon as he is out of the sight of the other fish, he eats them. One day when the crab wants
to be taken to the pool, he sees all the fish bones and realizes what has been happening. The crab then
attacks the heron, pinching its throat and killing it. The moral to this story, explains the jackal, is
sometimes people destroy themselves by their own craft and cunning if they are not careful (Arberry
92). This story helps foreshadows the fact that there is great risk for Dimna if he tries to destroy the
ox, but that this risk is worth the effort as long as he doesn t become too invested. Upon hearing this
parable,

What Is The Theme Of The Poem Good Night
The first stanza starts with the asking his father not to be soft on death meaning that he asks him not to
accept death quietly but to fight against it with full force, passion and bravery. Good night in the first
line refers to a good death, as it is clear that night represents death and the poet is motivating his father
resists death in a calm way. The use of the word rage shows the poet requesting his father to resist
death. The second stanza defines the attitude of wise men that realize that death is near. They can be
known as the men who will not accept death passively. They know that there is still a long journey and
a long way to go. Wise men in this case have unspoken words and goals to be achieved. Thus they
hold on to life till ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Burn and rave are usually associated with the passion of youth and thus the poet wants his father to
sing passionately. The close of day symbolizes the approaching death meaning that his father will
eventually die soon. In this case, the use of sad height may as well symbolize the closeness to death.
Gentle is used as an adjective that signifies the poet s father s personality. The poem: Do not go gentle
into that good night is structured in a villanelle. Thus the form of the villanelle reveals that it has a
refrain and self improvised lyrics in each stanza. Poetical devices are also used in this poem such as
alliteration that include the following: Do not go gentle into that goodnight Rage, rage against the
dying of the light. Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay is an example of a simile used in the
poem. Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray is an example of an oxymoron where the
poet is asking his father to bless as well as curse him. Dylan Thomas had also shown the use of
parallelism describing the actions of three different men: wise men good men wild men . The speaker
requests that his father has the qualities of these kinds of men. The poet had also used contrasts in the
poem to emphasize and focus on the theme, which include the following: Gentle and rage night and
day light and dark blind and sight grave and grey curse and

Influence on College, Study Abroad Programs
Introduction This nonexperimental study is examining the influence on college, study abroad
programs and the influence on environmental citizenship, (Tarrant Lyons, 2012, p. 201) in
undergraduate college students. The literature review provided adequate background and previous
studies to support the purpose of this study. The literature review does lead to the clearly stated
research purpose of exploring the effect of previous study abroad experience, gender, and destination
on pre and post levels of environmental citizenship, before and after participation in a short
term...travel program to Australia or New Zealand (Tarrant Lyons, p. 408). There were no research
questions or hypotheses explicitly stated but can be easily inferred ... Show more content on

In regards to selection threat, there was no random selection or random assignment. Students chose to
travel and chose their destination. There is also a threat to instrumentation, as two different surveys
were used to measure student perceptions. A final threat to internal validity may be in the area of
history. Students may have different experiences during their one month abroad. Threats to validity
were minimal in regards to attrition (no indication students dropped out; but even so there was a large
number of students included in the survey), statistical regression (students not grouped by extremes or
specific characteristics), or maturation (participants to be perceived as having same physical and
mental development). Extraneous variables such as socioeconomic status, perceived study abroad
experience, previous travel experience, attitudes towards surveys, and experience with topics of
sustainability were not controlled by the researchers. There is no indication that study participants
were treated unethically.
Results
There appears to be appropriate use and calculation of t tests in areas of study abroad experience,
program destination, and gender. There was no calculation of effect sizes. The results were presented
clearly. There was no data ignored in the areas the researchers identified at the onset of the study. This
nonexperimental study with nonrandom selection is not generalizable.
Discussion

The Threat Of New Entrants
3.2.3.1 Threat of New Entrants
The threat of new entrants is low in the natural food industry. Economies of scale decrease long run
average costs which generate lower prices for customers and give a firm the ability to expand.
Significant economies of scale for the natural food markets, including Whole Foods, are high, with the
ability to create large volumes with low costs. The barrier for both entering into and exiting from the
industry are strong. Entry to the natural food markets is either supermarkets changing their corporate
images or health retailers moving into supermarkets. The natural food industry is currently
dominating, which expands through new store openings with an assertive approach in its founding
years. Organic food markets diminished their expected comeback to increase volume by choosing
from incumbents through mergers and acquisitions. It is doubtful for local farmers to become a strong
force and enter the market individually since the majority is not willing to invest in getting
authorization with the government. It is easier for major companies to enter the market because they
can finance the kind of goods the consumers are looking for. Network externalities are strong while
there is no impact in spite of government protection of incumbents on profitability.
3.2.3.2 Power of Suppliers
The power of suppliers is medium to high for natural food industry. Several organic food markets have
a strong network of suppliers. Supermarkets are developing the

Gypsies in the Czech Republic Essay
Gypsies in the Czech Republic
The Gypsies of the former Czechoslovakia have suffered ethnic marginalization dating back to their
arrival in Eastern Europe over 700 years ago. The collapse of communism in Czechoslovakia, and
other Eastern Europe countries created the necessary conditions for the ethnic mobilization of the
Gypsies and other minorities. During communism minorities presence in Eastern Europe was not
officially recognized. The transition from the socialist system to democracy gave the Gypsies of
Czechoslovakia a chance to participate in the political process, to represent their interests and end
their ethnic marginilization. Though, due to historical circumstances dating back before communism
this has been a tough task ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The gypsies led a nomadic lifestyle traveling from place to place never establishing an area of
permanent residence. They made a living by telling fortunes, begging, horse trading, and thieving.
Their nomadic life style was conducive to their activities because the Gypsies never established ties to
the community and were gone before they had arrived. As the Gypsies continued to travel they soon
began to develop a bad reputation that preceded their arrival in new areas. As the Gypsies arrived in
the Czech areas within the Holy Roman Empire they were regarded as an undesirable element in
society. Over the next few hundred years the Gypsies were persecuted and efforts were made to
destroy the Gypsy culture in the area of former Czechoslovakia. In the seventeenth century, many
Gypsies were hanged from trees along the border to discourage others from entering the country
(Crowe and Kolsti 94). Persecution of the Gypsies ended in the eighteenth century ended when the
rulers of the Hapsburg Empire tried to integrate them into the peasantry and make them a positive
aspect of society. They were forced to abandon their nomadic lifestyle and many of their horses were
shot. The Gypsies were not allowed to speak their native tongue, which is Romani, and their children
were instructed in the Christian religion. While many of these policies worked they were not regularly
enforced and the

Slavery In Cincinnati
Cincinnati is a beautiful city on the Ohio River in southern Ohio that has a very rich history. The city
was founded in 1788 and soon blossomed into a thriving city. One important part of Cincinnati s
history was its involvement in the underground railroad and abolitionists. Based on the Ohio River it
posed as a perfect place to cross on the way to freedom. It also was close to the border with the south
during the civil war, causing it as a marker of entrance into the northern part of the united states during
the war. Cincinnati was a important part of the underground railroad, abolitionist movements, and the
fight to end slavery. The underground railroad was not a real railroad to begin with, it was a series of

One of the more famous oppositions of the abolition of slavery in Cincinnati was the Cincinnati Riots
of 1829. Cincinnati was full of irish immigrants and they disliked the competition they received from
the African American community in the area. Irish attacked African Americans in the area trying to get
them to leave the area, leaving more jobs for the immigrants. Some of the African Americans left,
while others stayed and fought for their jobs and lives. Another attack occurred later in 1836, this time
attacking a printing press that was publishing a anti slavery newspaper. A mob destroyed the press,
throwing it out into the streets in attempt to deter the publisher, soon though he continued to publish
his newspaper. The Ohio river was a prominent part of railroad in Cincinnati. It was referred to the
jordan river by conductors and passengers. It was common to talk in code using biblical names on the
railroad and among conductors, such as calling Canada the promised land . One famous house that
was a station on the underground railroad based on the Ohio river was the Rankin

  • 2. Analysis Of Mutability By Percy Bysshe Shelley Essay Portfolio Part B Mutability (Greenblatt 752 753) is a poem written by the Romantic poet Percy Bysshe Shelley in 1816. The Oxford English Dictionary defines the word Mutability as: Liability or tendency to change. (OED Online) Mutability was most probably written in order to portray Shelley s own views that humans do not have control over changes which occur in their own lives. However, it asserts Shelley s belief that, Nought may endure but Mutability. Shelley demonstrates this idea by using various literary devices, diction, and a sombre tone which is reflected through his choice of writing in the lyric form. Mutability was written at a time when Shelley experienced significant life changing events; January 1816 saw the birth of his first child to Mary Shelley, in the same year Shelley experienced financial struggles, and the suicide of his first wife Harriet in December 1816. (O Neill, M.) In addition to the changes he endured in his personal life, Shelley was very much aware of the changes happening during 1816 which was named, The year without a summer due to extreme changes in weather. During his trip to Switzerland, Shelley and a group of other Romantic poets began to create works to reflect this time of great change. (Gardiner, Lisa) This is significant as being exposed to so much change during 1816 more than likely inspired Shelley to write Mutability to demonstrate the human ability to accept and embrace change, as it cannot be prevented. ... • 3. Holistic Detective Dubh Harshly Needs For Important... Andrew Scheuerer Rudolph Helm IT 128 24 July 2015 Homework 01 Holistic Detective Dubh Harshly needs to send important photographic evidence and confidential documents to his partner regarding the sudden appearance of apparent Elder Gods at the nearby restaurant supply store. His only immediately available option is to transmit the data from his ultraportable laptop, across the internet via his e mail app, to his e mail server back at the agency (read: storage unit). But how can Dubh have any assurance that the data he sends will arrive at the appropriate destination, and not, say the rouge Hotmail server still being run by his neighbor Ted one unit over? How can he also assure that his data will not be intercepted in the middle, or even ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We also want to be able to backup our claims of what we sent, how we sent it, and when it was all done (non repudiation). For example, I turned in that homework assignment, in that exact wording and format, ten minutes before the deadline. Here s the MD5 hash I used to fingerprint the dated file before clicking, send. These are the problems that Transport Layer Security (TLS) aims to solve, building on the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol originally created by a team at Netscape for secure transactions on early websites (although similar to SSL, TLS is different enough for them to not work together). TLS will create a tunnel that is an established connection between source and destination, through which all packet data AND packet headers are encrypted. However, before TLS gets involved, Dubh s source machine must first establish a reliable transport protocol with which to communicate with the destination. In this case, we will (safely) assume that we are using Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) to establish this connection: Dubh s Laptop: Hey E mail Server, I d like to SYN chronize with you to share some data. E Mail Server: Dubh s Laptop, I ll SYN chronize with you, do you ACK nowledge? Dubh s Laptop: I sure do ACK nowledge. Now that a basic guarantee has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. How Did Tutankhamun Influence Ancient Egyptian Society The reign of Tutankhamun had a significant impact on ancient Egyptian society due to the upheaval the revolution of the very foundation of Egyptian beliefs by Tutankhamun s father Akhenaten created, followed by the restoration of the original belief system during Tutankhamun s reign. In order to explore this further, a brief background of Akhenaten s reign needs to be looked at in order to understand why the main religion of Egypt was changed so suddenly. Tutenkhamun came to the throne as a young child, therefore he had advisers who would look after state affairs for him. Who were they and how much control did they have over the young king? Finally the restoration of the old gods and the relocation of the religious and political centers to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The political centre was moved back to Memphis whilst Thebes was re established as the religious centre. Amarna was essentially abandoned. General Horenheb, who was ther King s deputy and Regent, took control of the political and military affairs from Memphis whilst Ay, the visier, stayed with the king and his queen and took reponsibility for religious matters. Tutenkhamun moved between Memphis and Thebes for political or religious reasons. Once the administration had been moved out of Amarna, an extensive building program was undertaken to allow the recognition that the old gods had been restored and a strong leadership was once again in place. (Welsh, 2007) The Restoration stele, found in the Great Hypostyle Hall at Karnak, is described by Ian Shaw as the most important document of Tutankhamun s reign. It paints a very dire image of the state of the kingdom when Tutenkhamun inherited the throne. It states: ...the temples and the cities of the gods and goddesses, starting from Elephantine [ as far ] as the delta marshes..., were fallen into decay and their shrines were fallen into ruin, having become mere mounds overgrown with ... • 6. Essay On Concentric Zone Theory Figure 1: Three Generalisations of Urban Structure 2.2.1.1 Concentric Zone Theory The concentric zone theory is also known as Burgess model and one of the oldest theoretical models that describe urban social structures. As shown in Figure 2.1, there are six circles in the model; each circle represents a zone of social groupings and land uses. As the city grows each zone must spread and move outward, encroaching onto the next one in the process known as invasion and successions (Park, 1989). The main feature of this model is to show the positive relationship between the central business district (CBD) and the socio economic status of the households. However, the main aim of this model was to describe residential structures and to show how they are organised in the city. Burgess work is much based on Alonso s bid rent function, which is an explanatory model of land use. As indicated by the concentric model the first accommodation for the migrant are in the central business district (CBD), where the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He observed that the highest rent areas of a city tend to be located in one or more sectors of the city and decreasing in all direction away from the central location (Kumar, 1994). The high grade residential areas occupied the most desirable space and were responsible for the pattern of urban growth in the city. The other grades of residential areas were aligned around the high grade areas, with the lowest grade areas occupying the least desirable land. Hoyt explained that due to the dynamics of the property market, the obsolete (old) houses vacated by the higher income groups to occupy high grade areas were transferred to the middle income groups. Vacancies thus created were occupied by lower income groups. A filter down process was observed when new housing unit was added to the edge of expanding city (Hoyt, ... • 7. European Attitudes Towards The American Civil War In April 1861, the United States declared a state of insurrection against the Confederacy of rebellious southern states. In Europe, the ordeal was referred to as The American Question. The question could not be evaded; a choice had to be made between neutrality and intervention. European attitudes towards the American Civil War would have a significant effect on the war s ultimate outcome (Randall and Donald 355). Throughout the early months of the conflict, the reaction of Europe was of great interest to both sides; Queen Victoria s Great Britain, in particular. Would Queen Victoria recognize Confederate independence? Such recognition would legitimize the Confederacy and provide it with allies who could furnish weapons and supplies the Southern cause desperately needed (Davis 197). At the outbreak of the war, most foreigners were poorly informed about America, according to Leslie Stephen in 1865: The name of America five years ago, called up to the ordinary English mind nothing but a vague cluster of associations, compounded of Mrs. Trollope, Martin Chuzzlewit, and Uncle Tom s Cabin. The choice between neutrality and intervention was not an easy one; either choice would lead to more choices. The question dealt with several issues, and it was difficult to read the conflict amidst threatening demands of angry belligerents. England had to guess the future in order to make a wise decision while balancing interests at home (Randall and Donald 355). Europe s three ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is important due to the magazine supplier being able to estimate the revenue that will be affected by the change in price. From above, the revenue at £1.00 is £500,000, but falls to £30,000 after the price has risen. http://www.economicsonline.co.uk/Competitive_markets/Price_elasticity_of_demand.html The government has many products which are imposed to indirect taxation, an example of this is inelastic, meaning fuel or alcohol. The price elasticity of demand is important for these products as it is able to determine how much tax producers can change on consumers as the prices rise. Companies/Firms are able to use PED in many ways, which enables them to decide the change of price effected by the total revenue of sales which then the price change that is likely caused by the supply changes. • 9. Hot Stuff Analysis Many historians regard the 60 s as the decade of positive change, particularly for minority groups. As a result the 1970s, which followed the socially impactful 60 s, are often seen as the decade where nothing happened or, more specifically, nothing good happened . Edward Berkowitz attempts to break this nothing happened stigma through his novel, appropriately named Something Happened. The decade of the oil crisis, the Watergate scandal, and the Iranian hostage crisis, also provided legislative progress for many minority groups. Thomas Borstelmann acknowledges the decade s formal equality but is wary to accept that society was as progressive. Alice Echols however, asserts that the decade s dance phenomenon expanded social equality, in her novel Hot Stuff. Echols and Berkowitz unanimously feel the 70 s made way for increased acceptance of minority groups; despite disagreeing on which minority groups benefitted. Borstelmann provides a much more skeptical analysis stating the 70s provided formal equality while ...private prejudice and its very real negative impacts still endured Alice Echols applauds the influence the 70s had on inclusion of previously underrepresented groups; women, homosexuals and African Americans. The 1970s are associated with identity politics, but they were also a time when numbers of gay men, African Americans, and women ditched predictable social script. A snake has made it a habit of eating the raven s eggs every time one is laid. The raven complains to it to stop, but to no avail. When the raven complains to the jackal of its problem and how it hopes to solve the problem by clawing the snakes eyes out, the jackal tells her the parable of the heron and the crab. Briefly, the old heron uses the innocent crab to trick the fish by claiming that the fishermen are coming to wipe them out and that he can help them by each day carrying them to a pool where they will be safe. The fish agree to the heron s trick. The heron carries a few fish away each day, but as soon as he is out of the sight of the other fish, he eats them. One day when the crab wants to be taken to the pool, he sees all the fish bones and realizes what has been happening. The crab then attacks the heron, pinching its throat and killing it. The moral to this story, explains the jackal, is sometimes people destroy themselves by their own craft and cunning if they are not careful (Arberry 92). Gentle is used as an adjective that signifies the poet s father s personality. The poem: Do not go gentle into that good night is structured in a villanelle. Thus the form of the villanelle reveals that it has a refrain and self improvised lyrics in each stanza. Poetical devices are also used in this poem such as alliteration that include the following: Do not go gentle into that goodnight Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
