American President Pros And Cons
I feel that it is extremely important to show the way the president has been behaving or acting because
it is concerning how he likes to talk about banning Muslims from the seven countries like Syria, Iran,
Yemen, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Iraq. There was also a time where a judge called Gonzalo Curiel,
was presiding over a case against Trump University, he went to say that He s a Mexican, Trump told
CNN. We re building a wall between here and Mexico. The answer is, he is giving us very unfair
rulings, rulings that people can t even believe. Claiming that a person can t do their job because of
their race is sort of like the textbook definition of a racist comment, House Speaker Ryan said, though
he clearly endorsed Trump. When asked by CNN s Jake Tapper if he would condemn Duke and say he
didn t want a vote from him or any other white supremacists, Trump claimed that he didn t know

Events like Charlottesville attack are where we need to hear from the president himself, but during this
time, we had a president who could not send the right message or tone to the American people and to
the people of Charlottesville, instead he supported groups like Neo Nazi s and the White Supremacists
who were also involved in the march along with other peaceful protesters In August 11 12th, there was
a rally going on in Charlottesville, Virginia Unite the Rally was to oppose the removal of a statue of
Robert E. Lee from Emancipation Park, and there were protesters that were involved in the rally from
white supremacists, white nationalists, Neo Confederates, Neo Nazis and many militias. Some of the

Mass Shooting, Mass Changes, And Mass Stalling
Mass Shooting, Mass Changes, and Mass Stalling Gun fire. Schklikt, klikt. One, two, three, four...
There are too many shots to count. They seem random, but every single one sends a chill down your
back. Laughter, shrill, joyous laughter just outside the library s doors echoes through the hallway. Your
heart stops, you freeze. Any movement could be your killer. After what feels like hours you hear an
explosion below. Get under the tables! You scurry over to the nearest table and look towards the
entrance. Dark shadows appear and you pull your knees closer to your chest. The doors burst open.
The gunmen cross over to the west windows that shatter when the bullets hit them. Schklikt, klikt. You
hold your breath as the screams from outside echo into the library. It takes everything inside you not to
cry, not to scream. The gunmen turn away from the windows and grin. They know what they have
done, and they are proud of it. Shots are fired, and a chorus of cries erupt from the victims. You see a
set of legs walk toward you. You bury your face in your knees and began to pray for your life, for this
all to end, for this to be a nightmare, a terrible nightmare. You pray to wake up. Peek a boo. On the
20th day of April, in 1999, the small town of Littleton, Colorado was shakened. The effect of the
Columbine school shooting rippled throughout the country, chilling people to the core. Parents kept

Internet based computing is known as cloud computing, where software and hardware resources
provided to the user on demand. Cloud computing is new paradigm that uses dynamically scalable
shared resources e.g. networks, servers, storage, applications and services. It provides different cloud
services through which resources can be swiftly providing and released with minimum management
efforts. In this paper, we aim to pinpoint the types of cloud, services and difference that shows how
effective cloud computing from other paradigm (Grid computing, Utility computing and Mainframe).
Last, we will provide an overview on the various challenges and risk associated to cloud computing
that deserves future research. I. INTRODUCTION Cloud computing refers to applications and
services that run on a distributed network using virtualized resources and accessed by common
internet protocol and networking standards. In the other words, cloud to be very large server on which

Comparing Romans And The Passage
Introduction The book of Romans is the longest and the most systematic letter written by the apostle
Paul in the New Testament. The theme of Romans is the revelation of God s judging and saving
righteousness in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Judgment in the New Testament was misconstrued among
the unrighteousness of the Jews until Paul s message clarified the meaning of God s judgment and
kindness. The focus will be on this practically passage, Romans 2: 1 11. It is vital to understand the
correct identification of this passage, the analysis of literary style and characteristics of both the book
of Romans and the passage, the cultural and historical background, the appropriate exegetical
approach, the identification and explanation of any unique and/or significant phrases, and the modern
relevance and/ or application of the passage. Correct Identification of the Passage It is important to
understand the placement of Romans among Paul s letters. It is likely that Paul wrote Romans from
Corinth on his third missionary journey in A.D. 57. Phoebe is said to have brought the letter to Rome
because Paul commends her in Romans 16:1 2. There is a theory that Romans was two separate
letters. According to XXX, Romans 1 15 was a letter to Rome and Romans 16 was a letter to Ephesus.
The evidence for the two letter theory was that Paul greeted people by name in Roman 16 which most
likely a church he knew well in Ephesus. This practical passage , Romans 2:1 11:

Contemporary Cities Methods Of Resilience
3. Contemporary cities methods of resilience.
In this section we will look at how practices of urban planning, design and management can be used to
make cities more secure against the hazards of the natural environment. The effects of urbanisation
and climate change are going to continue to cause more frequent and destructive challenges towards
humanity, so the implementation of these methods is crucial in preventing social, economic and
environmental losses. (too big to flood) These different methods will be analysed to understand if they
are successful methods of mitigation, which will be dependent upon each individual country.

Resilience and preparedness is a result of education in the school curricula, which teaches people what
to expect and what to do in such an event. Further information is circulated through media and
consolidated with national simulation exercises, which are rehearsed in the period leading up to the
hurricane season. A well constructed community approach of risk assessment, identifies vulnerable
people and those who can offer assistance during a disaster. The community approach means people
help each other to safety early before disaster strikes. This information is taken up to national level
and formulated into a community plan, which is relayed to all, so everyone knows what to do, and
who to help. An amazing method of mitigation from little money and resources but made successful
through strong governance and the cohesion of a willing community. Other developing Countries
would achieve similar benefits from such a method of mitigation.
Land use planning is a long slow process, which is not keeping up to speed with the rapid urban
growth of informal settlements. Planning is however, a vitally important role in urban security.
Therefore with governmental commitment and the correct resources, informal settlements can be
effectively implemented into the formal planning structure. This would allow building regulations and
controlled expansion to be monitored, ensuring less vulnerability of structures. This method of risk

Negotiation for Lease Extension Essay
The basics of lease extension negotiation
Those who have held the title of freeholder for a will be understanding of the riggers that comes with
extending a lease. However, the processes involved can be daunting to those new to the field and its
complex nature can also be somewhat overwhelming. The laws and procedures surrounding lease
extension have never been more complicated than they are right now, meaning that negotiating a new
deal with your leaseholder can be tougher than you expect. The following guide looks at the basics
you need to know when negotiating a lease extension.
Is the freeholder eligible?
The core question and the base of any perspective negotiation is whether or not the freeholder
qualifies for an extension. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You should also ask for a deposit (usually 10% of the lease cost) for security reasons, which should be
paid to you by the leaseholder within two weeks of their request of extension.
How to negotiate a better price?
The negotiation period is the most crucial part of the lease extension process and you are within your
right to turn down or counter offer any price proposed to you. You have up to two months after
receiving offer to send back a counter offer in order to try and get a price that is better suited to you.
After a counter offer has been sent it will signal the opening of the negotiations between a freeholder s
party (yourself and your solicitor) and a leaseholders party (he or she and their solicitor). If both
parties cannot come to a conclusion then a Valuation Tribunal will be needed. The tribunal will
consider all offers sent and will decide upon what they consider to be a fair price. Other issues related
to the lease can be raised during the tribunal however this will delay the outcome.
Should you seek professional advice?
After a receiving a leaseholders request for extension a freeholder will need to evaluate their own
legal situation. This usually entails speaking with a number of legal firms to see which of them is best
served for your current situation. Procedures and processes surrounding lease extensions can be
complex, so it is important

Steven Johnson Research Paper
Mother always said that watching TV or playing videogames is bad for you and will kill brain cells,
but Steven Johnson disagrees. Johnson has composed a theory that watching certain types of TV
shows can actually increase a person s cognitive ability. He coined the term The Sleeper Curve, and
with this, he claims that even the most violent or juvenile dramas can be nutritional. After reading his
arguments, I can say I agree with him completely. However, I believe Johnson should have touched
more on videogames as well. Videogames stimulate a person s mind more than watching TV. The first
point Johnson brings up is the idea of complexity in a plot. Referencing older shows, he uses Starsky
and Hutch as an example with no depth. It has a couple main characters and a single plot line that is
followed the entire time with a very standard buildup to a climax and conclusion. Alternately, as a

While most shows don t use this exact technique, many shows use a character or a monologue to ask a
question viewers would have about a concept. These arrows are most prevalent in medical shows like
ER or House because the general population doesn t know what spina bifida or avascular necrosis are,
but having the watered down version for the sake of the show helps viewers sympathize with the
characters. In the process of this, the audience is learning different terms, and while they probably
won t remember the name or be able to diagnose someone, they could recognize the name of the
condition if they heard it again. Giving the viewer more confusing topics makes them think about
what is currently happening instead of them trying to guess what is going to happen

Feminism In Shashi Deshpande
Shashi Deshpande is a known name in the world of Literature today. She writes about the Indian soil,
spreading its fragrance all over the world. Writing on Indian womanhood, she does not personalise
incidents or situations. Her aim is to enlighten women folk to stand for their own rights.
It is note worthy that the women are the sufferers and then, they are oppressors also. Works have been
done on the poor plight of women, especially in India but it has been a tedious task to mark out the
traces of women dominion in Deshpande novels. The artistic beauty of the author lies in being able to
project both sides of the coin. She has never been defensive about womanhood, although a male writer
is acclaimed as a writer whereas if a woman attempts to write, she is tagged as feminist. When a man

Saru s mother in The Dark Holds No Terrors keeps dominating her from the beginning but when her
brother Dhruva is drowned she becomes furious. Saru had only been a child. Her fault was that she
was a girl child. Saru s mother goes to the extent of telling her, Why didn t you die? Why are you
alive, when he s dead? (The Dark Holds No Terrors 191)
Beyond imagination, a mother can be such impudent with her own child just because she is a female
child. A mother wishing her daughter dead can be the crudest form of patriarchy supported by women.
These words get carved so deep inside her mind that Saru becomes a rebel against her mother. Not
only this, she could not develop the rationale of judgement and decision making being suppressed
always. Moreover, the guidance of her mother could have helped her but neither her mother bothered

Louis Pasteur Essay
Many individuals have made astounding contributions to society in the past 200 years; however, some
of these contributions were so powerful, they effectively changed the future of our world. Louis
Pasteur, born December 27th, 1822, in the town of Dole, Eastern France, is one of the most
noteworthy individuals to live during the last 200 years. Responsible for a myriad of accomplishments
ranging from the debunking of the infamous spontaneous generation theory to the method named after
him today, pasteurization, Mr. Pasteur is responsible for bestowing upon us some of the modern day
conveniences we enjoy daily. Before discussing his accomplishments, however, one should first look
at his origins. Pasteur s father, Jean Joseph Pasteur, in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To begin with, Pasteur can be credited with the discovery the existence of molecular asymmetry,
which effectively created the field of science known as Stereochemistry. In the ten years following his
discovery, Pasteur further investigated the ability of organic substances to rotate the plane of polarized
light; with the information from his studies, he became convinced him that asymmetry was one of the
fundamental characteristics of living matter, a vastly important contribution to the field of science in
general. In addition to this, Stereochemistry allows us to know how a certain molecule will interact
with an organism; anti nausea medications in the 1950 s that created devastating birth defects with
flipper like appendages is just one example of the consequences of not following this man s research.
In 1854, Pasteur was appointed professor of chemistry and dean of the science faculty at the
University of Lille (Ullmann, Louis ). Whilst employed at Lille, he accepted a plea for studying
solutions to problems associated to alcohol production at a local distillery, and with this catalyst, he
began a series of studies on alcoholic fermentation. In 1857, while working with his research, Pasteur
took a position with and was appointed manager and director of scientific studies at the cole Normale
Supérieure (Ullmann, Louis ). The observations he made

Abstract In this study a new noise source is proposed as a one of renewable energy sources in energy
harvesting. Disk Jokey (DJ) is a common device in celebrations and other events. Converting the
produced noise from DJ to electric energy by using a suitable piezoelectric transducer is the main aim
of this study. Piezoelectric sensors used to convert the sound waves to electric charges. Piezoelectric
sensor of the model 7BB 41 2 was used. The piezoelectric sensors were connected in series, parallel,
and series with parallel combination connections. The disk jockey was used as an acoustic noise
source. The sound intensity levels of the output sound were 81, 84, 87 dB. The output of the three
connection modes were measured at 0, 1,2,3,4, and 5cm distance. The results showed that the parallel
connection gave the highest power at the various distances. The maximum generated power was
4.96mwatts without using an external power supply for the signal condition device. The power
decreases by increasing the distance from the source of the noise.

Teaching Education And Student Teacher Relationships
The Concept of Learning
There are many methods to teaching in education and student teacher relationships are a very
important aspect in learning as well. Paulo Freire introduces us to two methods of education, the first
is the banking concept where he explains that students are merely containers to fill with information
and education is only for depositing methods into them without the students truly understanding what
they are learning. The second method is the problem posing method where the teachers and students
are both equal in the classroom and they teach each other. This concept is aimed at challenging and
testing their critical thinking. While David Bartholomae explores the concept of teachers turning
students into reader based ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These statements that he makes are very degrading to both the student and the teacher, but no matter
which way he puts it the students do go to school to learn and at the end of the day that is the main
goal in education. Since birth we have all been taught to do things like walk and talk without ever
questioning why we need to learn these things, they are just things that we must know to live our lives.
Freire argues that students are objects and that they do not truly understand what they are learning
because they do not have the capability of creative learning in the classroom. According to Freire in
the classroom, The student s records, memorizes, and repeats these phrases without perceiving what
four times four really means (257). The truth is that students go to school kindergarten through twelfth
grade and learn the basics like how to read, spell, write, add numbers together, important things in
history, and science explaining many things like our ecosystems. Students have been learning through
the banking concept their whole lives and it has been a very effective because these subjects were
needed to be taught or else people would not have the common knowledge that is needed to go about
their everyday lives. The teachers are meant to hand down their knowledge to students, it works that
way until a student can gain their own understanding and then they are able to move onto the next
topic. With the problem posing method Freire drives his

Satire In The Importance Of Being Ernest
Mytia Terry
May 10, 2017
ENGL 2323 008
To: Jon Stewart
From: Mytia Terry
Subject: The Importance of Being Earnest exhibits a high seriousness of intent that Wilde wished for.
In the play The Importance of Being Earnest , Oscar Wilde focused on the Victorian Age by mocking
the Victorian principles and ideals. Wilde utilized satire and mockery through the character to make
fun of their culture, principles, behaviors, and morals of the Victorians. Wilde also used the characters
in the play to demonstrate the political, social, and religious views in the late 1900 s. One of the first
things Wilde chooses to mock in The Importance of Being Earnest is the institution of marriage which
is a social satire. In the play, marriage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Chauble. Chauble represents the religious satire Wilde wanted to present to the audience. Dr. Chauble
gives the exact same sermon at many events no matter the circumstances. In the play he states My
sermon on the meaning of the manna in the wilderness can be adapted to almost any occasion, joyful,
or, as in this present case, distressing. I have preached it at harvest celebrations, christenings,
confirmations, on days of humiliation, and festal days (Act 2). Wilde presents in this play that the
priesthood lacks originality and is very boring. He mocks the fact that Chauble uses the same sermon
for multiple occasions and doesn t even take the time to change it.
The last satire used in the play is political satire used to mock the victorian morality. Wilde
demonstrates instability of the moral consciousness when in the play Chasuble surrenders to his
emotions for Mrs.Prism. In the play, Chasuble states Were I fortunate enough to be Prism s pupil, I
would hang upon her lips (Act 2). Wilde uses this to mock the moral faith of the Victorian society. The
Victorian people were very absent minded because of the deeply hidden anxiety and they tried to stay
confines in their own privacy.
In conclusion, The Importance of Being Earnest, Wilde demonstrates uses satire through the social,
political, and religious ways of the Victorians and used them to make a mockery of their ideals,
beliefs, values, and

Examples Of Consumerism In The Great Gatsby
In Benjamin Franklin s The Autobiography, the enlightenment idea of frugality is praised. In Walden,
or Life in the Woods by Henry David Thoreau, the idea of extravagance is critiqued a veiled as
unnecessary. F. Scott Fitzgerald s The Great Gatsby, not only critiques consumerism, but also offers a
firsthand look into lives overtaken by consumerism. Although having lived in different time periods,
Franklin, Thoreau, and Fitzgerald all suggest that consumerism is a negative trait in American life,
that devices the mind into overvaluing wealth and material object. Benjamin Franklin clearly presents
his stance on frugality in his biography. One of the virtues that Franklin follows is to, make no
expense but to do good to others or yourself:

The Death Of The Modern American Mafia
The American underworld reared its head for the first time in the late nineteenth century. Since this
time new waves of immigrants to the United States, primarily Italian, have facilitated in the rise of
organized crime in America. Italian mafia members treated the workings in America as an extension of
the Sicilian mafia rather than a new organization. The immigration of the Lucania family from Italy to
the United States would be the cause of one of the most drastic changes in the workings of organized
crime. Charles Luciano became the father of the modern American mafia.

Luciano could barely speak English which caused him to struggle in school and, being stubborn and
belligerent, he turned to the streets (Gosch, 1975). However, during his five years of formal education,
Luciano did learn one thing: Jews could prove extraordinary allies (Gosch, 1975).
Luciano learned his way around the life of the streets. One of his first major rackets was getting his
schoolmates to pay him for protection ( Lucky Luciano Biography , n.d.). If they didn t cough up the
money, he was liable to give them a beating himself ( Lucky Luciano Biography , n.d.). By 1916, he
was a leading member of the Five Points Gang, a gang with a reputation for brutality and for fighting
to the death in gang wars. In this same year, Luciano started delivering narcotics for George Scanlon,
and was caught for selling heroin, which got him a year at Hampton Farms Penitentiary. This was the
start of something for Luciano.
Luciano formed a gang that would later dominate the face of organized crime and change it into a new
and all pervasive menace that would influence the American social life for many years to come. He
first met Meyer Lansky and Benjamin Bugsy Siegel when he was into grabbing pennies from jewish
kids for protection (Gosch, 1975). Luciano had walked up to Lansky, and standing a whole head taller
than him, made the usual proposition for protection (Gosch, 1975). Lansky stared Luciano down and,

Prayer On The Life Of A Minister
There is no substitute for prayer in the life of a minister. It is something that has to be an intentional
part of every day, but this is not always an easy task. Even Jesus had to work to incorporate prayer
into his daily routine rising early and going away from the others to spend time with God (Mark 1:35
37). If a minister is not careful, finding time to pray can feel like a burden, yet, it is one of the most
precious privileges that was bought for mankind through the blood of Jesus Christ. Prayer for a
minister goes beyond the developing of a vibrant relationship with God. A Pastor is called to pray the
prayers of the people, he is to pray with the sick and poor and he is to teach his people the importance
of prayer and how to incorporate it into their daily lives.
A Foundation of Prayer
The Bible states that there will always be people in need, and it is our duty to reach out and help to the
best of our ability (Deuteronomy 15:11). Hebrews 13:2 is a reminder not to miss an opportunity to
show kindness to a stranger, it just might be an angel that is being cared for. Matthew 25:34 36 gives
further clarification on how to serve the needy; For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I
was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and
you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me. (NASB)

Taking a Look at Ritalin
Ritalin Each day, more and more children, young adults, and even adults are diagnosed with Attention
Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, more commonly known as ADHD. According to the Center of Disease
Control (CDC), 6.4 million Americans aged 4 17 have been diagnosed with ADHD since 2011, and
this number is steadily growing. As one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders in
children, ADHD is often diagnosed in childhood and is a non curable, yet manageable, disease. The
most common treatment of ADHD is through stimulant medication, such as Ritalin. Since the 1950s,
Ritalin has aided in the treatment of hundreds of thousands of patients affected by ADHD, and is less
commonly used to treat narcolepsy, depression and obesity. Ritalin is a central nervous system
stimulant, and is effective by affecting chemicals in the brain and nerves that are contributed to ADHD
symptoms. Specifically, it works as an enzyme toward the chemicals dopamine and noradrenaline in
areas of the brain that play a part in controlling attention and behaviour. The original patent for this
drug was held by CIBA but has been transferred to the Novartic Corporation. It became licensed in
1955 by the U.S. Food and and Drug Administration. According to studies and surveys conducted by
the CDC, approximately 4.3 million ADHD affected patients are currently prescribed Ritalin. The
New York Times has reported that sales of Ritalin have more than doubled between 2007 and 2012,
from $4 billion to $9

Rhythm Method Case Study
1. What are the pros and cons of the rhythm method? How far is Maria in her pregnancy? Show how
you derived your estimate.
a. The rhythm method is a form of birth control in which the women tracks her menstrual cycle history
to predict when they will ovulate (The Regents of the University ofCalifornia). This method helps
determine what dates the woman is more likely to conceive. If the plan is to use this method as a form
of birth control, the couple must avoid having unprotected sex during these fertile days of each month.
Some pros of the rhythm method includes it s low cost, requires no medications, no healthcare

The menstrual cycle consists of four different phases: menstrual, pre ovulatory, ovulation, and
postovulatory phase. The menstrual cycle refers to the physiological processes that take place to the
endometrium of the uterus in preparation for implantation of an embryo. The endometrium grows to a
thick, blood vessel rich tissue lining which is an optimal environment for the implantation of an egg
upon its arrival in the uterus (Primal Pictures). If fertilization does not occur, the lining of the
endometrium is shed during menstruation and the menstrual cycle will begin again. The menstrual
phase is the first phase on the reproductive cycle and is the first day of a women s period that can last
from 3 7 days (Primal Pictures). During this time levels of estrogen and progesterone hormones are at
their lowest (Swiss Precision Diagnostics). The low levels of hormones signal the release of GnRH
from the hypothalamus, as well as follicle stimulating hormones (FSH) and luteinizing hormones (LH)
to be released from the anterior pituitary glands (Swiss Precision Diagnostics). These hormones cause
the shedding of the epithelial lining of the endometrium and a combination of blood, epithelial cells
and mucus (Primal Pictures). The pre ovulatory phase is the second phase of the menstrual cycle and
usually takes place during days 6 13 of a typical 28 day cycle (Primal Pictures). The increasing
concentrations of FSH and LH mark the beginning of the pre ovulatory phase (Swiss Precision

Feminist Lens In The Painted Door By Sinclair Ross
People often do things out of character when faced with boredom. In The Painted Door by Sinclair
Ross it is evident through the Feminist lens that Ann decided to cheat on her husband in an attempt to
escape her dull lifestyle. Her actions were caused by her unhappy marriage, her sense of self
importance and her overdependence on men. Ann seemed devoted to, albeit frustrated with, her
husband John. When the humdrum life of a farmer wife finally got to her she ended up doing
something horrible.
Throughout the short story The Painted Door the narrator explains Ann and John s troubled marriage.
According to Ann, John was unattractive, heavy jowled, and stooped (Ross 4). He never wanted to
socialize with his wife; Ann had asked herself ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She believed she should be the most important aspect of John s life and was angry when it seemed she
might not be. He doesn t care what becomes of me (Ross 3), Ann said while complaining about John s
need to help care for his father and his farm. Because John had other commitments, it left Ann alone,
which continued her lifetime as a plain farmers wife. While John was out in the storm he had left Ann
to her own devices, Steven showed up to save the day, regardless of the fact that he had a stable of his
own to look after (Ross 3). This fueled her need to feel significant and gave her a feeling John never
did. In an attempt to seduce her, Steven validated her opinion by stating it isn t likely he d leave his
father anyway (Ross 5). This furthered Ann s idea that John may not brave the storm to come home to
her. As the night went on, Steven continued to convince her that John would not be arriving. Steven
made Ann feel as though her husband had abandoned her, and that he was the only one that would be
there to help her when John did not return. This pushed her need to feel important into her much
deeper need to be cared for, which, in the end, resulted in her adulteress

Shiva Nataraja In Hindu
The history of Hinduism is arguably the most complex of all major religions. Like any other religion,
Hinduism has been and continues to be sculpted by cultural influences. But what distinguishes
Hinduism from all other major religions is its innumerable gods, untold amount of scriptures, and
countless rituals, all of which have evolved over the years. Even of the principle gods in Hinduism
Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, who compose the Hindu triumvirate and who handle the creation, upkeep,
and destruction of the world people hold broadly different beliefs.
Of the three deities composing the Hindu triumvirate, Shiva is the most paradoxical. His annihilative
powers as the Lord of Destruction, which can be both beneficial to man as well as injurious, exemplify
his contradictory nature. For example, Hindus believe Shiva can benevolently destroy the faults of
man, but also wrathfully destroy the entire universe. Thus, he is seen as the source of both good and
evil and is regarded as the one who combines many contradictory elements.
Given that a person s life experiences fundamentally shape their perspective of the world, readings of
visual representations of Shiva vary depending on several factors, including the background of the
viewer. This paper considers two distinct interpretations of a visual depiction of Shiva Nataraja the
most renowned representation of Shiva as the Lord of Dance to make a claim of the ambiguity of
religion itself.

Physician assisted death for the terminally ill in US

Introduction
In United States, Euthanasia is a highly controversial subject among politicians, legislators and society
members. Just the mention of this issue polarizes different groups on opposing ends as some either
support it and others want to keep it illegal and unlawful(Steck, Egger, Maessen, Reisch, Zwahlen,
2013). The main ideology that is discussed in the situation is whether an individual has a right on his
own life in cases of terminal illness where there is no way of recovering according to medical
professionals. The argument that is for the provision of assisted death for terminally ill can be
understood by other names of Euthanasia which are mercy killing and dignity death. These names are
given to the practice of physical assisted death as it allows the terminally ill patients to avoid the
extreme pain, constant awareness of certain death and humiliating medical conditions that are part of
some terminal illnesses. In this report, the present state of Euthanasia has been evaluated in context of
United States. The goal is to look for the existing political and legislative environment for and against
Euthanasia and identify an appropriate solution.
Present State of Euthanasia
In most of the western countries, the legislators are no longer keeping the rights of people to decide
whether or not they want assisted death if

Power In Lord Of The Flies Analysis
In William Golding s Lord Of The Flies, it has successfully unpacked Golding s personal ideas and
values about power, that are to be held between different characters in the novel. It teaches the
audience that humans have the ability to maintain and destroy a corruptive situation. Power can be
represented in different circumstances and depends on who holds the ultimate power. The two leading
characters, Ralph and Jack have made an occurrence of disintegrating their own society throughout the
novel. The amount of power on the island corrupts absolutely whilst the savagery in the boys have
invaded their civilised selfhood.
As the boys slowly inhabit on the maroon island, the audience develops an understanding of Jack and
Ralph s different sets of beliefs, that are influenced by their view on the society. Golding has added
concepts of allegories to make the audience challenge their thoughts power and how it can be utilised.
The whole novel is referred to allegory for danger of the excessive power and how it has the ability to
give way and inherent a savage nature. Conversely, this is demonstrated by all of the boys on the
island. When the boys begin to adapt to the island, Ralph s lieutenant, Piggy finds a alluring, white
pink shell, called the conch. Both Ralph and Piggy decide to utilise the conch by allowing a individual
to speak while everyone must obey and listen to them. Although the conch has a certain purity to
others, it begins to foreshadow its use. Consequently,

Essay on The Great Schism
The Great Schism
During the late 14th century and the early 15th century there was a great division in the Catholic
Church. The Papacy was becoming blurred. The center of the Roman Catholic Church had been
moved from Rome to the city of Avignon during the reign of Pope Clement V; and there was now a
movement to return the center of power back to Rome. This movement was first truly seen under Pope
Gregory XI and his successor Pope Urban VI. Earlier Pope Urban V had moved the center to Rome
but it had been proven to be no more than a temporary idea; he had gone back to Avignon to die and
there his replacement, Pope Gregory XI was elected . This along with other political problems and
circumstances created a split in the loyalty among ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pope Clement VII was also the cousin of the French king, which insured that the church would be
under French influence. The cardinals insisted that they had to elect a new pope, Pope Clement VII,
because the election of Pope Urban VI was not valid. They were coerced into electing the Roman pope
for fear of their lives; a mob of Italians outside of the conclave that elected Pope Urban VI had
threatened to massacre the cardinals if a foreigner was chosen as the replacement for Gregory XI.
None the less the Papacy was now divide. The saying United we stand, while divided we fall. is very
valid in this instance. The church is having many problems around this time period and many people
are converting, or shale we say shifting, to other forms or Christianity. Whereas before these problems
occurred the church was the central power in Western Europe and had great influence over the
governments in their sphere of power. This event, the schism, caused a split in the Catholic Church
and divided countries among the two popes. Everyone realized that the schism resulting from the
counter election of Cardinal Robert of Geneva as Pope Clement VII . . . was a tragedy for the church .

England, the Holy Roman Empire, Hungary Roman Empire, Bohemia, and Poland supported Pope
Urban VI. While Pope Clement VII had gained support from France, Napales, Scotland, Castile, and

given the chance to go to the Holy Land to seek forgiveness for her sin by his long lost father Godfrey

In fact, it is said that when Guy failed to attack the Muslims in 1183, Baldwin went into a fit of anger
because he wanted them all dead. The movie makes it seem as though Baldwin wanted to keep peace
between the two groups but that was not true because really, he could not stand the Muslims and
would do almost anything to keep the Holy Land out of their hands.
When it comes to Saladin, the film makes it seem as though he was a man of tolerance and respect
when in reality, he took pleasure in watching the decapitation of hundreds of christen soldiers and
civilians alike. Through out his time as ruler of the Muslims, Saladin Preached jihad(or holy war) on
the Christians and made it very clear that his goal was to take Jerusalem by force and kill all of the
people living behind the walls and on the surrounding lands. Saladin as he is portrayed in the film is a
man who chooses to work together with the Christians to try to find a reasonable balance between
groups and holds them in high regard to himself.6 This is very far from any kind of truth at all.
I believe that this was such a big deal for groups when the movie came out because the film made it
seem as though both men wanted a somewhat peaceful solution to obtaining what they desired when
in fact, that was the last thing they wanted. Both men were very respectable from what I can tell, but

Subcontractor Resource Management Essay
Specialist contractors generally known as subcontractors perform the majority of the work on
commercial construction projects. They face significant challenges in allocating their resources across
multiple, concurrent projects (O Brien and Fischer 2000). Despite their central nature to project
performance, relatively little research has been performed to formally model their operations. Without
such modeling, there exists little basis from which to measure or improve performance. This

Credit Analysis On Credit Risk
Risks
Credit Risk Credit Risk is defined as the risk that promised cash flows from loans and securities which
may not be paid in full. Mortgages represent a primary asset and are the main reason for credit risk at
banks. In 2003 2006, banks took on very excessive risk when granting or purchasing mortgages and
suffered the consequences. Mortgages can be insured by banks to decrease risk, but banks will often
(especially after the credit crisis in 2008) choose to perform credit analysis on applicants,
geographically diversify their loans, and incur the risk themselves. BOH is no exception, as they
require an extensive list of documentation (pay stubs, W 2, tax returns, bank statements, current
landlord information, etc.) their applicants must submit in order to be considered for a mortgage. In
the BOH 2015 10 K report, they state the following: In addition to implementing risk management
practices that are based upon established and sound lending practices, we adhere to sound credit
principles. We understand and evaluate our customers borrowing needs and capacity to repay, in
conjunction with their character and history.
Liquidity Risk Liquidity risk is defined as the risk that a sudden surge in liability withdrawals which
may require a financial institution to liquidate assets in a very short period of time and at low prices.

recipes you will come to find are for people with families, and nobody likes eating chicken Alfredo
four nights in a row, but you also shouldn t waste your leftovers, because like stated before, food is
expensive. Now if you do have too much, you can always store it in the freezer for an already made
dinner down the road. So make sure that you remain as healthy as you possibly can. Finally, saving

How Does Dimmesdale Show His Sins In The Scarlet Letter
Essay #1
In the novel, The Scarlet Letter, Hawthorne shows sins of several different kinds in numerous people,
as well as the consequences and remedies of their sins. Arthur Dimmesdale, bares the most brutal
effects of his sins. Hester Prynne recognized her sins and accepted them. She wore the letter A with
such pride and dignity. Dimmesdale on the other hand knew what he did was unacceptable and was
unable to confess his sins, because of the fear of not being accepted into society, and also the fear of
not being forgiven by God. Dimmesdale s inability to confess his sin and to accept his punishments
eventually leads to his downfall. Dimmesdale wanted to desperately admit his sin to the world, but
just couldn t bring himself to do it. Dimmesdale tells Hester ,... it would be better for him to do so than
to hide a guilty heart for the rest of his life. What can your silence do for him, except tempt him
almost force him to add hypocrisy to his sins? (Page 73) Dimmesdale pleads Hester to tell the name of
the father, and fellow sinner. He is too weak minded to do it himself. Since he was not revealed, he
hides his guilty heart. Later in The Scarlet Letter, Dimmesdale digs himself into a dark hole of shame
and failure. At this point in the book Dimmesdale s guilt has built up to an extreme amount he inflicts
torment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Chillingworth was surprised to find this out. Chillingworth intends to discover and pursue Hester s
lover and to get revenge on him. Chillingworth has a bad feeling about Dimmesdale after waiting and
watching every person in the village. Chillingworth decided to move in with Dimmesdale to act as a
caring doctor. Chillingworth was basically a leech to Dimmesdale, he never left his side and always
made sure Dimmesdale had his

The Rules Of A Dog
Breed Specific Legislation is a term used to ban a dog breed. This is, in theory to limit dog attacks.
This seems to be the quick fix . (1) These laws address breed discriminating laws. The American Pitt
Bull Terrier, English Bull Terrier, Bulldogs, Rottweilers, Chows, Dobermans, and German Shepards
all have fell victim to these absurd laws and regulations. So many dogs have been ripped away from
their lives and families. These dogs are removed and killed senselessly. There is no compelling
evidence these laws even work. They address expense to enforce and upkeep. There are no bad dogs.
There address bad people and bad owners. Over 700 U.S. cities have breed specific laws, regulations,
and ordnances already in place. These laws ruin lives. These laws kill innocent dogs. Thirty cities in
my home state of Arkansas some have implemented laws that stress discriminate of bully breeds, bully
types and bully looking dogs. These laws are strictly on pit bulls.(1) On November 7th, 2012, 7:00 am
the, Belfast City Council murdered Lennox. Lennoc was an innocent dog. This sweet boy loved his
family, life, and did nothing wrong. The Belfast City Council took Lennox from his home and kept
him isolated for over 2 years. His family did not get to tell him goodbye.Lennox, was taken and
murdered by the authorities. This sweet dog fell victim to breed specific legislation and the The
Dangerous Dog Act that the government put in place in 1991. This Act banned certain dog breeds on

Distillation Lab Report
9/19/2012 Experiment #1 Density Aim: Learn how the process of distillation occurs. Observe how
distillation separates alcohol from wine. Method: Distillation is based on the fact that the matter can
exist in three phases solid, liquid and gas. As the temperature of a pure substance is increased, it
passes through these phases, making a transition at a specific temperature from solid to liquid (melting
point mp) and then at a higher temperature from liquid to gas (boiling point bp). Distillation involves
evaporating a liquid into a gas phase, then condensing the gas back into a liquid and collecting the
liquid in a clean receiver. Substances that have a higher boiling point than the desired material will not
distill at the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is the same process as in distillation that involves evaporating a liquid into a gas phase, then
condensing the gas back into a liquid 2. Port and sherry are called fortified wines , because alcohol is
added to a fermented wine to prevent it from turning to vinegar when exposed to air. Beginning with
squeezed grape juice which contains sugar, water, and yeast design a procedure for making a fortified
wine. 1) Add the yeast to the grape juice, speeding up the fermentation of the juice. 2) When the grape
juice has around 3 5% residual sugar, add brandy to the juice. 3) Drain the juice, removing the dead
yeast. 3. What happens to the proof rating of the brandy, as the distillation process continues? Why?
The proof (twice the % alcohol) starts at its maximum and goes down (as the alcohol evaporates). If
we start with a high concentration of alcohol, we will get the azeotrope (95% alcohol, 5% water) for a
while, then the concentration will decrease. 4. Commercial brandy is brown in color, while your raw
brandy is colorless. Why the difference? Is brandy simply a water alcohol mixture? After two
distillations, the clear, colorless alcohol is given itsdistinctive nutty brown color and flavor by aging
wood, often oak barrel. The longer abrandy ages, the more refined its flavor is judged to be. Brandy is
a spirit made by distilling grapes to a higher proof than they achieve

Mummification Essay
Mummification is the form of embalming practiced by the ancient
Egyptians. The mummification process changed over time from the Old
Kingdom, when only kings could be mummified to the New Kingdom, in which everyone could be
mummified. The entire process of mummification to be completed took 70 days. After a body was
delivered to the per nefer, which is where the embalmers conducted their tasks. The first thing that was
done was put the deceased on a slanted table.
The first thing that needed to be removed was the soft, moist body parts that would cause decay. As
the embalmers removed these parts, blood and other bodily fluids came out and went down the table
being collected into a bowl. During the old and Middle Kingdoms, the ... Show more content on

The heart was sometimes left in the body, but other times it was removed and dried with natron. Then
it was either put back in the corpses body or placed beside it in the coffin.
After the soft body parts were removed one of the embalmers would make an incision in the left side
above the abdomen. Although this was needed to remove the organs, the Egyptians didn t like to do
this incision because they thought that it was sinful to damage a corpse. By making this incision they
took out the stomach, intestines, liver, and lungs. After they were taken out the embalmers would then
preserve it by drying them in a natural salt called natron which is now called baking soda. In the Old
Kingdom after they were dried, the embalmers would put the organs in a four chambered box made of
wood, clay, or stone. This box was stored in the mummy s tomb. Then in the Middle Kingdom, the
embalmers put each organ in a separate container called a canopic jar. The stoppers of the jars were
carved o look like the face of the dead person. Then in the New Kingdom, the stoppers of the canopic
jars were carved to look like the heads of the four sons of the god Horus. Then later on the canopic jars
were placed in the four chambered chest. By 1000 BC, the preserved organs were wrapped in linen
and placed back in the mummy s body. The empty

How Does Elie Wiesel Use Of Figurative Language In Night
Figurative Language in Night
The book night by Elie Wiesel has a lot of figurative language in it; almost all of the figurative
language used has its own significance and gives you more information on how bad life was when you
were a Jew in the 1940 s. There are eighty of you in the wagon, added the German officer. If anyone is
missing. You ll all be shot, like dogs... This simile has a very big impact and shows how the Jews were
treated. The jews being compared to dogs and the Germans almost are saying how easy it would be for
them to kill all of them if anyone is missing. This creates such a big impact because the inhumane
treatment from this point on just snowballed continuing to get worse. The next piece of figurative
language is personification; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There was nothing else to say. your words can t actually choke you and paralyze your lips but the
feeling of being so scared can also with such a dry throat trying to speak practically felt impossible. I
believe that Elie Wiesel used this in the book to show how when your that scared and your throats that
dry you cant speak, words are almost impossible to form and your lips feel like they cant move to
make what you re saying eligible. A prolonged whistle pierced the air. also personification just gives a
vivid description of how loud and drawn out that whistle was. Elie Wiesel used this to show that in the
midst of everything when that whistle blew it was long and loud that it got everyone s attention. You
could also bring this back to the first piece of figurative language and say how they would be shot like
dogs, they are also treated like dogs controlled by whistles. The last piece of figurative language; My
heart was about to burst. There. I was face to face with the Angel of Death... . This hyperbole almost
makes your heart race knowing everything that s going on, that these are what he thought were his last
moments knowing he was with

  • 6. Comparing Romans And The Passage Introduction The book of Romans is the longest and the most systematic letter written by the apostle Paul in the New Testament. The theme of Romans is the revelation of God s judging and saving righteousness in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Judgment in the New Testament was misconstrued among the unrighteousness of the Jews until Paul s message clarified the meaning of God s judgment and kindness. The focus will be on this practically passage, Romans 2: 1 11. It is vital to understand the correct identification of this passage, the analysis of literary style and characteristics of both the book of Romans and the passage, the cultural and historical background, the appropriate exegetical approach, the identification and explanation of any unique and/or significant phrases, and the modern relevance and/ or application of the passage. Correct Identification of the Passage It is important to understand the placement of Romans among Paul s letters. It is likely that Paul wrote Romans from Corinth on his third missionary journey in A.D. 57. Phoebe is said to have brought the letter to Rome because Paul commends her in Romans 16:1 2. There is a theory that Romans was two separate letters. According to XXX, Romans 1 15 was a letter to Rome and Romans 16 was a letter to Ephesus. A well constructed community approach of risk assessment, identifies vulnerable people and those who can offer assistance during a disaster. The community approach means people help each other to safety early before disaster strikes. This information is taken up to national level and formulated into a community plan, which is relayed to all, so everyone knows what to do, and who to help. An amazing method of mitigation from little money and resources but made successful through strong governance and the cohesion of a willing community. Other developing Countries would achieve similar benefits from such a method of mitigation. Land use planning is a long slow process, which is not keeping up to speed with the rapid urban growth of informal settlements. Planning is however, a vitally important role in urban security. Therefore with governmental commitment and the correct resources, informal settlements can be effectively implemented into the formal planning structure. This would allow building regulations and controlled expansion to be monitored, ensuring less vulnerability of structures. This method of risk ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Johnson has composed a theory that watching certain types of TV shows can actually increase a person s cognitive ability. He coined the term The Sleeper Curve, and with this, he claims that even the most violent or juvenile dramas can be nutritional. After reading his arguments, I can say I agree with him completely. However, I believe Johnson should have touched more on videogames as well. Videogames stimulate a person s mind more than watching TV. The first point Johnson brings up is the idea of complexity in a plot. Referencing older shows, he uses Starsky and Hutch as an example with no depth. It is something that has to be an intentional part of every day, but this is not always an easy task. Even Jesus had to work to incorporate prayer into his daily routine rising early and going away from the others to spend time with God (Mark 1:35 37). If a minister is not careful, finding time to pray can feel like a burden, yet, it is one of the most precious privileges that was bought for mankind through the blood of Jesus Christ. Prayer for a minister goes beyond the developing of a vibrant relationship with God. A Pastor is called to pray the prayers of the people, he is to pray with the sick and poor and he is to teach his people the importance of prayer and how to incorporate it into their daily lives. According to the Center of Disease Control (CDC), 6.4 million Americans aged 4 17 have been diagnosed with ADHD since 2011, and this number is steadily growing. As one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders in children, ADHD is often diagnosed in childhood and is a non curable, yet manageable, disease. The most common treatment of ADHD is through stimulant medication, such as Ritalin. Since the 1950s, Ritalin has aided in the treatment of hundreds of thousands of patients affected by ADHD, and is less commonly used to treat narcolepsy, depression and obesity. Ritalin is a central nervous system stimulant, and is effective by affecting chemicals in the brain and nerves that are contributed to ADHD symptoms. Specifically, it works as an enzyme toward the chemicals dopamine and noradrenaline in areas of the brain that play a part in controlling attention and behaviour. The original patent for this drug was held by CIBA but has been transferred to the Novartic Corporation. It became licensed in 1955 by the U.S. Food and and Drug Administration. According to studies and surveys conducted by the CDC, approximately 4.3 million ADHD affected patients are currently prescribed Ritalin. • 28. Shiva Nataraja In Hindu The history of Hinduism is arguably the most complex of all major religions. Like any other religion, Hinduism has been and continues to be sculpted by cultural influences. But what distinguishes Hinduism from all other major religions is its innumerable gods, untold amount of scriptures, and countless rituals, all of which have evolved over the years. Even of the principle gods in Hinduism Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, who compose the Hindu triumvirate and who handle the creation, upkeep, and destruction of the world people hold broadly different beliefs. Of the three deities composing the Hindu triumvirate, Shiva is the most paradoxical. His annihilative powers as the Lord of Destruction, which can be both beneficial to man as well as injurious, exemplify his contradictory nature. For example, Hindus believe Shiva can benevolently destroy the faults of man, but also wrathfully destroy the entire universe. Thus, he is seen as the source of both good and evil and is regarded as the one who combines many contradictory elements. Given that a person s life experiences fundamentally shape their perspective of the world, readings of visual representations of Shiva vary depending on several factors, including the background of the viewer. This paper considers two distinct interpretations of a visual depiction of Shiva Nataraja the most renowned representation of Shiva as the Lord of Dance to make a claim of the ambiguity of religion itself. Physician Assisted Death For The Terminally Ill University Name Name of The Institute Course Title A Report on Physician assisted death for the terminally ill in US Student Name Introduction In United States, Euthanasia is a highly controversial subject among politicians, legislators and society members. Just the mention of this issue polarizes different groups on opposing ends as some either support it and others want to keep it illegal and unlawful(Steck, Egger, Maessen, Reisch, Zwahlen, 2013). The main ideology that is discussed in the situation is whether an individual has a right on his own life in cases of terminal illness where there is no way of recovering according to medical professionals. The argument that is for the provision of assisted death for terminally ill can be understood by other names of Euthanasia which are mercy killing and dignity death. These names are given to the practice of physical assisted death as it allows the terminally ill patients to avoid the extreme pain, constant awareness of certain death and humiliating medical conditions that are part of some terminal illnesses. In this report, the present state of Euthanasia has been evaluated in context of United States. The goal is to look for the existing political and legislative environment for and against Euthanasia and identify an appropriate solution. • 30. Power In Lord Of The Flies Analysis In William Golding s Lord Of The Flies, it has successfully unpacked Golding s personal ideas and values about power, that are to be held between different characters in the novel. It teaches the audience that humans have the ability to maintain and destroy a corruptive situation. Power can be represented in different circumstances and depends on who holds the ultimate power. The two leading characters, Ralph and Jack have made an occurrence of disintegrating their own society throughout the novel. The amount of power on the island corrupts absolutely whilst the savagery in the boys have invaded their civilised selfhood. As the boys slowly inhabit on the maroon island, the audience develops an understanding of Jack and Ralph s different sets of beliefs, that are influenced by their view on the society. Golding has added concepts of allegories to make the audience challenge their thoughts power and how it can be utilised. The whole novel is referred to allegory for danger of the excessive power and how it has the ability to give way and inherent a savage nature. Conversely, this is demonstrated by all of the boys on the island. When the boys begin to adapt to the island, Ralph s lieutenant, Piggy finds a alluring, white pink shell, called the conch. Both Ralph and Piggy decide to utilise the conch by allowing a individual to speak while everyone must obey and listen to them. • 31. Essay on The Great Schism The Great Schism During the late 14th century and the early 15th century there was a great division in the Catholic Church. The Papacy was becoming blurred. The center of the Roman Catholic Church had been moved from Rome to the city of Avignon during the reign of Pope Clement V; and there was now a movement to return the center of power back to Rome. This movement was first truly seen under Pope Gregory XI and his successor Pope Urban VI. Mortgages represent a primary asset and are the main reason for credit risk at banks. In 2003 2006, banks took on very excessive risk when granting or purchasing mortgages and suffered the consequences. Mortgages can be insured by banks to decrease risk, but banks will often (especially after the credit crisis in 2008) choose to perform credit analysis on applicants, geographically diversify their loans, and incur the risk themselves.
