Social Stigma Of Domestic Violence
The topics in this assignment is mind boggling as much as they are all interesting and have a great
impact for us health providers.
I chose Domestic Violence because of its alarming statistics. The national coalition against domestic
violence reported that on the average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an
intimate partner in the United States and in doing the math, it can equate to more than 10 million
women and men in a given year. With this overwhelming increase in domestic violence cases is a
bigger question of identifying who these patients are given the nature of the problem. The problem
creates a social stigma to those who are affected by it. Abused patients have the tendency to cover up
the situation because

The Development Of Luxury Industry
People love luxury. Some people think it stands for fashion, and some people think it stands for a
social stratum, but in common, people think it stands for rich and success. However, is it really a
symbol of success? Or, it is just the satisfaction of vanity? People can see what famous people use and
wear in television or magazine in their daily lives which gives them a model of rich people s lives.
Luxury usually plays a big role. People s vanities push them to spend a huge amount of their income
on purchasing luxuries so that they can look more similar to the famous people who they idolize with.
Generation to generation, using luxury to measure whether one is success or not becomes a culture,
and rich becomes the synonym of success in the society. The development of luxury industry benefits
by this unhealthy culture; at the same time, people s vanities also be expended by luxury which cause
the distorted definition of success. The development of luxury industry never leaves human s vanity.
People want to look rich but not poor, specially, in United States and under American Dream.
According to Sales of the Luxury in Selected Countries in 2013 (see figure 1), the country which has
the highest sales of the luxury goods in 2013 is United States which is almost four times higher than
Japan which is in the second place (Bain Company). People use to compare themselves to their friends
and their idols. When Bai Zhen talks about Mr. Louis Vuitton s early age, he mentions a

How Is Shakespeare s Honesty Taken To A Whole New Level
Shakespeare s Honesty Taken To a Whole New Level In relationships from long ago to relationships
today, men may call their wives, girlfriends, or mistresses names such as: angel, baby or they may
compare them to some of nature s pure beauties. William Shakespeare supports in Sonnet 130 about
insane similes most commonly used in relationships, when men compare their wives, girlfriends, and
mistresses to angels, flowers, or any beautiful features of nature. Shakespeare is only being harshly
honest to compare his mistress imperfections to some of the world s most beautiful perfections.
William Shakespeare is considered to be a romantic writer, but he also tries to remain bluntly honest in
his writings. Shakespeare includes in his very first

Research Paper On Gallium
The discovery of such an element as gallium does not come as just any accidental discovery. Gallium
or Ga, atomic number 31 was in a long research process for fifteen years by Lecoq de Boisbaudran.
He had been meticulously studying the spectra of several chemical elements, Lecoq knew that each
and every element produces its very own and distinct pattern of lines when heated, or spectra. As
Lecoq de Boisbaudran continued his drive to learn more of the distinct element spectra, he
distinguished that the element on the periodic table between indium and aluminum was yet to be
discovered. Lecoq de Boisbaudran theorized that with gallium supposedly having an atomic number
of 31, it could be that gallium is contained within zinc, atomic number thirty. ... Show more content on

gallium needs. In second comes Canada with 23%, china with 14%, Ukraine with 12% and 22% from

Battlefield Tactics in World War I
World War I would not be the war that it was if it weren t for its infamous tactics and strategies that
took place out on the battlefield. From mustard gas to light flares, World War I was filled with so
many different plans and tools. These tools helped some countries maneuver through the difficult tasks
of the war. War tactics, such as tunnelling, gases, tank attacks, and raids are what helped countries get
through the war.
Tunnelling was a technique used by Great Britain and Germany which consisted of placing mines up
to one hundred feet below the opposing sides trenches. This technique was very helpful because no

(Pidgeon)The placement of the tanks was very precise, it had to be because they were difficult to
maneuver. The tanks moved very slowly, but they could push through almost anything using the
caterpillar tracks to grip onto the ground beneath it. Tanks brought a new look on the war, with all of
this new technology, the soldiers decided to fight hard while they could. These tanks even, helped end
the stalemate of World War I trench warfare ( Tank Warfare ). Tanks helped spark some fight into the
soldiers, but it also showed them the great horrors of deadly

Introduction
Technical underwriting is the method of assessing the customer s eligibility to approve their services
by the financial service provider. The case alludes to an organization called Northern Insurance and
their gigantic venture on TUFS (Technical Underwriting Financial System). That framework was the
biggest speculation ever constructed on IT by Northern Insurance and it ... Show more content on

Marketable strategies changed over the life of the framework, however the venture was not reassessed.
The undertaking had income creating and value sparing chances; however, now just cost sharing is
imperative. No achievement measurements were constructed forthright and business officials and
supervisors had no clue simultaneously, their accomplishments were not in association in at any rate
with the framework. The significant issues with the TUFS are all the business parts, the CFO Freeman
and the supporters have a malicious believed that the framework is costing more and didn t convey the
right things and is not increasing the value of the organization.
Corrective Actions for TUFS To improve the efficiency of the TUF System and to make a large
amount of profit, proper safety measures should be made by the company. Also, the systems should be
redesigned, debugged so that previously encountered errors and problems are not repeated. The whole
staff should be improvised by having supportive teams, technicians and project managers. Since,
Northern is an Insurance provider company, more efforts are to keep on collecting proper and right
information of the customer s information and should make sure to store the data with proper backup.
The data collected from the underwriters should be properly designed into a data model by the staff.
The company s staff should be trained about the latest updates in software s, technology and the
Internet, in order to make them

What Are The Roles Of Women In 19th Century Russia
Feminism (Or Lack Thereof) In Nineteenth Century Russia Throughout history, women have not been
seen as equal to men, both politically and socially. As time has gone on, this has improved, however,
in nineteenth century Russia, women were seen as objects rather than as people. They had no rights
economically, could not vote, and spent their lives under the control of a man. In the 1997 film Anna
Karenina, which was based on a novel by Leo Tolstoy, we see firsthand the effect that sexism had on
the lives of women. The women featured in this movie have no control over their own lives. In
particular, we see how marriage was an institution that forced women under the control of their
husbands. The 1870s in Russia (when Anna Karenina takes place)

Theme Of Tikki Maurii
The theme of Rikki Tikki Tavi is putting others in front of yourself, meaning that you care about them
more than you care about yourself. It is almost like the golden rule, do unto others as you would have
them done onto you. This is recurring theme from Rikki Tikki Tavi, the mongoose constantly puts
himself in harms way to save the family that had nursed him back to health. Rikki Tikki has gone out
of his way to help others despite them not doing anything in return. From saving the life of Teddy, to
saving everyone living in the bungalow.
In the first part of the story Rikki Tikki helps the birds bring justice to Nag, the snake who ate the
baby bird the nest. Darzee and his wife told Rikki Tikki about what just happened, they say that ...

He once more risked his life by saving the big man, he could have been beaten to death. He threw
himself to kill Nag and held tightly as he was being banged against the walls while Nag was trying to
get rid of Rikki Tikki. He braced for death, but all that came was Nag s death. The brave mongoose
even saved the lives of the family as a whole. He saved them when Nagaina was threatening to kill the
whole family if they did not move or if they did she would also kill them. Rikki Tikki had come with
one egg in his mouth to bargain with Nagaina about not killing the family. He fought Nagaina, and
chased her away from the table where Teddy s family was eating. He ricked being killed by Nagaina
when he went to down a hole. Mongooses that are young are known not to survive this event, yet
Rikki Tikki did. He risked a very sad death for the sake of the family.
Rikki Tikki basically saved all of the creatures from the bungalow from Nag and Nagaina. Rikki Tikki
wanted the bungalow free of snakes, just like a mongoose would have it. He did the favor the birds
asked him to help them with and stayed with the plan the whole time. He stayed even though the one
snake problem ended up being a much bigger snake problem. He did the family a favor back in
exchange for them saving his life, Rikki Tikki saved them as well. In fact he did the whole bungalow a
favor for killing the snakes, the text mentioned it on page 243, that the birds were singing and the
frogs were croaking.

How To Write An Essay On Puerto Rico
This week with it being cold here in Omaha, I thought of a warm place in the Caribbean. It has crystal
blue waters, white sand beaches, great attractions, impressive scenery, nightlife, gambling, fishing,
cultural experiences, friendly locals, golf and hiking. I discovered you could find affordable top
ranked vacations in the Caribbean. Some of the hot spots there are Jamaica, U.S Virgin Islands,
Barbados, Puerto Rico, Dominica, and Punta Cana. I am going to talk about Puerto Rico since it seems
like an amazing vacation for travelers.
I found one of the best things to do in Puerto Rico are the caves one is called Parque de las Cavernas
del Río Camuy. When you arrive at the park you take a tram ride down to a 180 foot high cave filled
with a variety of wildlife, including crabs, tarantulas and bats. You also spot plenty of stalactites,
stalagmites and one of the largest subterranean rivers. It was rated a 3.4 top attraction by visitors
because of long wait times so arrive early to avoid long wait times. Have your clients check the
forecast before planning their itinerary to go see the cave, because it closes during rainy days. There s

Adam Bain and the Price Momentum Strategy
ADAM BAIN AND THE PRICE MOMENTUM STRATEGY
In February 1995, Adam Bain, investment advisor in the London, Ontario branch of RBC Dominion
Securities Inc. (RBC DS), was considering whether or not to implement a price momentum strategy
for his clients. Trend and Cycle, DS s technical research department, had recently circulated a copy of
a study which described a simple price momentum model and referred to its startling results based on
back testing the strategy over a 15 year period. The Trend and Cycle group had long promoted the
importance of price momentum and relative strength to potential clients. Bain needs to determine
whether the proposed model was too good to be true or, if it did not look promising, how he would go

His client base had grown primarily due to referrals, often from Royal Bank branch managers. His
primary source of income was through commissions charged on products sold. For example, typical
stock commissions ranged from 1.5 to 2.5 percent depending on the size of the transaction.
Bain s clients portfolios included equities (both common and preferred) as well as fixed income
securities and small amounts of cash (typically parked on a short term basis before being allocated to
fixed income or equities). Typical portfolios were approximately 60% equities and 40% fixed income,
70% domestic and 30% international. Approximately one third of equity investments were through
mutual funds. Approximately 25% of client assets were included in tax sheltered Registered
Retirement Savings Plans (RRSPs). As of 1991, Bain s clients were primarily over age 70. As of 1995,
his client base had evolved to become much younger, with a median age of around 50. his clients were
dominated by professionals.
Bain summed up his investment philosophy as follows:
I strive to provide my clients with the best possible investment advice and service by employing
proven investment strategies and techniques in order to achieve superior investment returns over the
long term. I keep my business simple and straightforward in order to ensure that clients understand

Internal Conflict in Hermann Hesse’s Siddhartha
The novel Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse is a timeless story about one man s journey of finding peace
in his way of life and thoughts. Siddharta is a young Brahmin s son, who is dissatisfied with his
worship and in turn sets out to find the lifestyle that is right for him. Siddhartha is faced with many
external, physical conflicts, yet that is not the most prominent type of conflict in the story. Hesse
builds excitement and suspense through Siddhartha s internal journey to create an emotional response
usually associated with external conflict. The start to Siddhartha s suspenseful journey was when he
was a fairly young boy. That was when he had one of his most important awakenings, realizing that his
religion wasn t enough to truly feed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before he found the secret that he was searching for, he had to overcome internal struggles, as he
became frustrated that he had spent so much of his life looking for enlightenment and he had not yet
found it. The wound still smarted; he still rebelled against his fate. There was still no serenity and
conquest of his suffering (132). This quote shows what his thought process was like before Vasudeva
gave him his final advice. He became almost doubtful, and certainly frustrated. This built up the
reader s feelings of suspense would Siddhartha ever truly find enlightenment?
Although Siddhartha s internal thoughts reflected doubtfulness, he did eventually hear the words,
spoken by Vasudeva, that he was searching for which led him to his enlightenment
From that hour Siddhartha ceased to fight against his destiny. There shone in his face the serenity of
knowledge, of one who is no longer confronted with conflict of desires, who has found salvation, who
is in harmony with the stream of events, with the stream of life, full of sympathy and compassion,
surrendering himself to the stream, belonging to the unity of all things. (136)
Siddhartha s enlightenment was initially a composite of all the events that had happened throughout
his lifetime. In the quote, serenity of knowledge may be referring to the knowledge gained by all the
psychological conflicts Siddhartha experienced. All of the ups and downs, temptations and sacrifices
added up, resulting in the exciting

Self Love And Body Positivity
Self love and body positivity. Are the two subjects I have struggled with since last year. Self love is
when you have a positive view of yourself and are confident in yourself. And body positivity is
forgiving and affirming towards your body. There was a time when I used to not care what I looked
like. I wouldn t care if I had a noticeable blemish my face, had rolls of fat showing, or ate a whole
batch of cookies by myself. But somehow, one day everything changed.
For the longest time I wasn t proud of how I looked. The fact that I have glasses and have loads of
acne around my face, wasn t helping. I remember looking at the girls at school and wondering how
they have smooth skin, and why they are so beautiful. You have no idea how many ... Show more

I still struggle to form my body the best it can be.
Food was the main factor to why I judged my body. I love food, but I somehow it became my worst
enemy. Before I paid any attention to my body I would eat a bunch. I m talking about chips, cupcakes,
pizza, popcorn and other delicious foods. But of course, eating causes you to gain weight. So I started
to watch what I ate, and limit how much I consumed. At that point I wasn t enjoying the food as much
as I did before. While eating anything, in the back of my mind, I would start thinking of how many
calories the food has and I shouldn t be eating this . Heck, I would eat one cookie and instantly regret
it. Honestly, I m tired of starving myself. I want to love food again, I don t want to worry about
gaining weight if I ate a whole tub of ice cream. I have no idea when I will digest this, but I know I
will.
Since last year up till now. This is still an ongoing battle for me. I do have days when I don t feel
attractive, or want to look slim, or watch what I eat. I aspire to be thrilled and be fine with what I look
like, and accept my body for what it is. I blame society, we as women and men are pressured to look a
certain way. It s heartbreaking to observe people access plastic surgery or starve themselves to be
accepted in society. I m slowly learning that being slim and having the perfect face isn t important. At
the end of the day, what matters is

My Life Changing Experience
From time to time I relive this part of my life with an ashamed perspective. It all begins to come back
to me on the morning of December 16th, I awoke after a sleepless night of exercising, flushing my
system with water and with mixed emotions about even prayed. I went through this because four
nights previous I had raved it up at a party smoking a copious amount of weed. This I consider to be
my life changing experience. Generally speaking I ve always been a good kid with high morals and
couldn t see myself to be tempted to drugs or alcohol, especially since my parents said they d kill me
if they caught me doing that kinda stuff. How I got into this mess begins with me being at a happy

idea first came to me when I would see a couple of my friends smoking over the app Snapchat, while I
was viewing their stories. So me being interested I asked one of my friends if I could join them next
time they did and he agreed. After that first weekend, I was instantly hooked to it and spent the next
weekend smoking weed with them again. For the most part I was originally doing this to help cope
with my best friend leaving but as time worn on I just grew plain addicted. Furthermore this started to
cause me to make more poor decisions. After becoming accustomed to weed, I would start to buy
bottles of hard liquor for myself. This I would drink after school about every other day during the
weekdays. Recalling back, I think the dumbest I ever done was during New Year s Eve, I went to a
hotel and smoked several times within a few hours, then went to a party to drink. At around one o
clock I drove home and I remember how badly I was shaking for how nervous I was to get pulled
over, thankfully I managed to get home successfully. As I was getting more attached to this kind of life
I was progressively feeling really shitty about myself. First was due to the amount of lying I was
telling to my parents and second was how far I had let myself down. All things considered I look back

The Importance Of Technology On Human Interaction And...
Up until about twenty or thirty years ago, no one really knew what technology was or how to use a
cell phone, tablet, or computer. The iPhone was not even invented until ten years ago, but today,
technology plays a role in almost every aspect of every person s life. It is just about impossible to go a
day without seeing or using some piece of technology. The extensive amount of technology available
today has really influenced the world and how people live. Unfortunately, that influence is not entirely
positive; it has hindered human interaction and communication by making people socially awkward,
creating relationship issues, and limiting people s abilities to understand and use the written language.
Because technology hinders human interaction and communication, people should limit their
technological use.
First, the more recent generations of children are growing up with technology available everywhere,
so they are learning from a very young age what technology is and how to use it. Instead of playing
outside with other kids in their neighborhood like their parents did growing up, most children today
play video games on a gaming console, laptop, tablet, or cell phone. This is isolating children from the
real world and inhibiting their ability to learn how to communicate with others. They are not learning
to understand various social clues or even how to have a conversation face to face, and because of
this, most kids may feel anxious or overwhelmed when they face a social

Abstract
The generation effect refers to the experimental findings that when the subject is asked to generate
all/part of the stimulus the item is always remembered better than the stimulus that the subject only
read (Slamecka Graf). That is the information that the subject generates/creates by oneself is
remembered better compared to the information they only read. Results show that in all the cases, the
performance in generation condition was superior to that in read condition. Using a repeated measures
design, subjects were exposed to 2 levels (conditions, namely, read condition and generate condition).
After each condition, they were engaged in a simple recall task, remembering as many words as they
could. This phenomenon is applied even across variations in encoding rules, timed or self placed
presentation and along with between and within subjects design. A number of potential explanatory
principles are considered and their difficulties are enumerated in the following report. To conclude,
generation effect is a robust finding.
Keywords: Generate Condition. Recall, Memory, Paired associate.
Introduction
The given report is an empirically based report. Generation effect is a phenomenon where information
is better remembered if it is generated from one s own mind than it is simply read. This includes

The Midea again has a strong answer to this, with a capacity of 3.5 cu. ft., or 99L of space in the
appliance. It should be noted that this is the internal capacity of the Midea, not the outside dimensions,
so you know what you re getting from it. It can hold around 123 pounds of food, depending on the
type of goods in question. The Midea is therefore a generously sized freezer, giving you plenty of
storage room for keeping food fresh.
Low energy consumption
As a freezer will always be plugged in, energy consumption is a very important factor in choosing
your new freezer. The Midea has this factor covered, being very efficient in energy usage. It requires
just 193 kWh and costs around $23 a year to run. This makes the Midea a smart choice for both
operating on a tight budget and trying to keep your carbon footprint low. It is in fact amongst the most
energy efficient appliances in its class, so it is a top of the range choice.
In conclusion
The Midea WHS 129C1 is a high quality home freezer that is very energy efficient and has a large
capacity, suitable for families. It also has many design features that make it a strong candidate for a

A Study On Neurodevelopmental Psychiatric Disorders
Neurodevelopmental psychiatric disorders such as autism spectrum disorders, schizophrenia and
anxiety disorders, which typically emerge in children and adolescents, have been extensively
investigated worldwide for decades. The pathogenesis and mechanism remained unclear, and no
effective treatment has been identified so far. Recently, a variety of studies identified prenatal stress
(PS) as a risk factor for neurodevelopmental socioemotional disorders (Khashan et al., 2008, Kinney
et al., 2008, Ronald et al., 2010, Monk et al., 2012). A popular thesis proposed that socioemotional
disorders arise from PS induced perturbations to early brain development, especially the
neurophysiology of amygdala. Various studies have shown that the amygdala is implicated in the
pathophysiology of neurodevelopmental psychiatric disorders (Quirk and Gehlert, 2003), also several
studies have identified that PS affects amygdala development (Kraszpulski et al., 2006, Laloux et al.,
2012). However, little is known about how PS influences the amygdala developmental trajectory.
Ehrlich et al. conducted this study to first investigate whether PS has an effect on socioemotional
behavior of adolescents and adults, and secondly whether and how PS alters amygdala neuron
excitability. They were motivated to explain the relationship among PS, amygdala neuronal activity
and socioemotional behaviors because understanding the trajectory of brain development can provide
potential targets for intervention of the

Team Tack Shoppe Analysis
I would like to become a part of Team Tack Shoppe because I want to be able to represent a successful
small business. Being a Team Tack Shop ambassador would be an excellent way for me to be able to
connect with more positive, motivated equestrians. I started riding at the age of eight, when my dad
took me to the barn in our neighborhood. I had initially just went to pet the horses, but I ended getting
to ride; and that is where it all started. Soon after I started taking lessons at a local barn. Four years
later I purchased my first pony, Trigger, from my trainer. I worked so hard for the money to buy
Trigger, and I was so proud of him. Sadly I was only able to keep Trigger for about a year before I had
to sell him back to my trainer. I still continued with lessons and rode when I could, but I didn t get to
purchase my next horse until I was twenty. I purchased Talia in January 2015 and trained her myself. I
plan on making her into my competitive jumper and showing her as much as I possibly can. ... Show

Beatrice In Much Ado About Nothing
Abstract: This paper deals with the character analysis of Beatrice from Much Ado About Nothing. The
story is set in Messina. This is the story of culmination of a chaste woman, Hero. Though Beatrice is
supposed to be a supporting character in the play, she however steals the show. Her intelligence
combined with her softness makes her the most awesome character of the play. She sees the
inappropriateness of the world and instead of being a silent observer, she chooses to raise her voice
against it, which is a sure sign of wisdom.
Introduction: The character of Beatrice in the play Much Ado About Nothing is one of the strongest
female characters of Shakespeare. In the play, Beatrice is the niece of Leanato, the Governor of
Messina and very close ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We can clearly understand this when, while talking about Hero getting married, Antonio, Leonato s
brother says to Hero Well niece, I trust you will be rul d by your father . (ActII.Scene1, 35 40).
Throughout the play, we understand that Hero is a woman solely constructed by the norms of the
society and family. She does not have her own say. Throughout the play she is being suppressed by the
societal norms. Shakespeare has structured the character of Hero on the lines of a traditional
Elizabethan woman, silent and dominated. Through the character of Hero Shakespeare has tried to
portray the piteous state of Elizabethan women. However, Beatrice was a little different. She openly
objects male dominance. She was not ready to submit herself to male dominance and authority. While
talking to her uncle Leanato about her marriage, Beatrice clearly says, Not till god make men of some
other metal than earth: would it not grieve a woman to be overmastered with a piece of valiant dust, to
make an account of her life to a clod of wayward marl? No, uncle, I ll none. Adam s sons are my

How Does Macleish Present My View Of Poetry
Out of all these poems Ars Poetica by Archibald Macleish is the poem that accurately expresses what
my view of poetry is, what it does, and how we should read it. The reason that this poem represents
what my view of poetry is, the way that Archibald is able to describe poetry in a way I had never
thought about before but a way that I am still fully able to understand. He explains how poems should
be able to stand on their own, that they shouldn t need words. What this choice says about me is that
when it comes to reading poetry I read it in a way that the poem should be what it is trying to say. Ars

The Pros And Cons Of Inmate Re-Incarceration In Prison
SUMMARY: Many inmates are incarcerated in prison for years and sometimes decades, then released
back into society with little education or training. Studies have found that 19 percent of inmates are
entirely illiterate, and 75 percent are functionally illiterate and read at a 4th grade level. Therefore,
without education, vocational training, or the ability to secure employment, many formerly
incarcerated people maladapt to society and return to crime and prison. Thus, a vicious cycle of re
incarceration called inmate recidivism is created. With all the positive outcomes of inmate education,
which include reduced recidivism rates and safer communities, my policy memo addresses why

Due to today s political climate may be problematic in getting State Funds allocation passed through

Uncle Wiggily In Connecticut Summary

despite of her wealth, and the unhappiness of not being a mother even though she has a daughter.
Although this woman demonstrates an icy and bitter relationship to everything around her, including
her descendent, the story s end indicates self awareness and resolution for the protagonist.
Before coming to the very ending it is important to elaborate on some important points acting as
foundation for the optimist interpretation of Eloise s last words. Otherwise it could be interpret either
way.
The story develops two old college friends gathering for a chat, in a week afternoon, talking for hours
straight. During this period there is abusive alcohol consumption, a robust evidence of personal
problems. The conversation evolves around gossip and complains. It is Eloise, the protagonist, who
complains the most throughout the whole story, and about every aspect of her current life. Including
her own daughter, which until that moment she barely considers as her descendent: I need a cocker
spaniel or something (24). Even though the text only brings up the distinct appearances between them,
Eloise believes Ramona is so far apart from her that anything would be closer to her even a dog.
Furthermore, despite Eloise s wealthy life, with expensive cars, belongs and even a full time maid who

Artists that Influenced The Beatles Essay
In the eyes of many, The Beatles are one of the most influential bands of the 20th century. They have
influenced me in my everyday life and so many great musicians in the past 50 years. This fact alone,
makes it hard to imagine that they were once influenced by someone else. While doing some research,
I found various artists that influenced them through the beginning of their careers until the very end.
In the following paragraphs, I will be sharing with you a few of the artists I thought to be the most
influential to The Beatles extremely successful career and why I thought them to be so influential. In

John was fascinated not only with Presley s voice, but also by the jagged guitar work that propelled
Heartbreak Hotel (Hall 1). The Beatles admired him not only for his music, but for his style. They
quickly slicked their hair back, got sideburns, tight jeans called drainpipes , and crepe soled shoes, all
in true Elvis style. John was so inspired by Elvis, that it drove him to create his first skiffle group
called The Quarrymen. Another early influence of The Beatles, was one of the most influential guitar
players of early rock and roll, Chuck Berry. Berry was known for cultivation and development of
rhythm and blues music. He is known as one of rock and roll s pioneers. Not only was Berry s style
heard a lot in early Beatles albums, his songs Roll Over Beethoven and Rock and Roll Music were
later covered by The Beatles. In 1963, The Beatles reached their first number one hit. Though Please
Please Me has more of a high energy fast tempo, the song was inspired by Roy Orbison s 1960 hit
Only the Lonely . It was John Lennon s attempt at writing a Roy Orbison song. The Beatles were fond
of Roy Orbison s song writing and distinct singing approach. Roy Orbison had one of the most
distinctive and expressive voices, with a three to four octave range to match, in rock and pop music

Compare And Contrast The Fashion And Style Of The 1960s
Fashion and Style during the 1960s consisted of very bipolar moods. The early 1960s resembled that
of the late 1950s with the ideas of conservative and restraining clothing. Later in the 1960s women s
clothing specifically began to change more than ever before. They began to show more skin that ever,
with bright colors and mini skirts made a dramatic debut. The styles of women in the 1960s embodied
the growing women s movement of individuality and sexuality that continued to grow well into the
70s. The little black dress was soon a staple piece in every woman s closet that was paired with a pair
of gloves. Men and women began to involve the hip hugger jean with low beats into daily attire.

National Debt Is Necessary For The Funding Of Federal...
National debt is necessary for the funding of federal programs. Government spending is not only a
focus of the United State s political system, but it affects one s personal choices and lifestyle. There is
a concern with where and why money is spent. A key aspect of government spending is allocated to
education. Education is fundamental in how one benefits society and the economy. The United States
education program is not only necessary for the success of the country, but it is in need of a more
efficient system with increased funding. Education is the foundation of a person s success and way of
life. Graduating from school is important not only for an individual, but it helps the local and national
economy. A study by the Alliance for Excellent Education shows that with higher graduation rates
among high school students, the economies of cities, states, and of the country would increase
(Rollins). Compared to the rest of the world, the United States spends a large amount of money on
education (U.S. Education). While many may think this sufficient, Professor Bruce Baker discusses
the correlation between supporting schools with federal funding and the success of students, When
schools have more money, they have greater opportunity to spend productively. When they don t, they
can t (ii, Baker). If students are to graduate and contribute to the boost of economies, education must
be the forefront of federal funding. The United States is spending what seems to be like

The Dangers Of Self Esteem
In today s society, I believe that there are many possible hazards if we focus too much on heightening
the self esteem of children. One example is that children with very high self esteem could have a lack
of motivation in regards to academic assignments and exams. They may not feel the need to study or
put in the work to try their best due to the fact that they have the mentality of I m so smart, so I don t
need to study. Another example is that high self esteem could lead children to losing respect towards
authority. When children become too arrogant, they develop this know it all attitude. They feel that
they are better than the authority figure and there is no reason to respect them. All in all, too much
focus on heightening self esteem can cause children to lack high goals and expectations and influence
them to disrespect authority figures. Instead, we should focus on developing a secure self esteem in
which children feel comfortable and happy about themselves. We should teach children the idea that
not everyone is perfect and that they should accept their flaws. When children realize that they are not
perfect and can still make improvement, they can set goals for themselves and establish determination
to get better.

Dangerous Knowledge
The pursuit of forbidden knowledge is the impetus and downfall of man s quest to understand the
unknown. In the Bible, God warns man that knowledge brings more regret than it does value: He that
increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow (Ecclesiastes 1:18.). Throughout the history of mankind, man
has been faced with the temptation to reach the level of God. The Tower of Babel is the first attempt
by man to become as powerful as God when man tries to build a tower that reaches the heavens.
Come, let us build for ourselves a city, and a tower whose top will reach into heaven, and let us make

notes the harmful potentials that scientific knowledge can create: Frankenstein sets the imagination

Goodall suggests that through history science has shown itself to be so pregnant with mischief that,
where the conscience of science is concerned, we can never have enough of it (Article Finder).
Frankenstein cannot control his quest for knowledge, because knowledge silences his conscience and
excites his imagination. When Frankenstein succeeds in discovering the cause of generation and life
(52), he ponders whether he should create life or stop. I doubted at first whether I should attempt the
creation of a being like myself, or one of simpler organization; but my imagination was too much
exalted at my first success to permit me to doubt my ability to give life to an animal as complex and
wonderful as man, thinks Frankenstein (53). The pursuit of knowledge not only takes over

Content based analytics: This type of analytics deals with large amounts of unstructured and noisy
data (Text, audio, video and images) created and exchanged by users on social media platforms, as

Structure based analytics (Social network analytics): This type of analytics deals with gaining
intelligence from the participants relationships and creating structural attributes of a social network.
The structure of a social network is created with the help of nodes and edges, as a network graph,
where each participant is represented by a node and each edge represents the relationship between two
participants. We discuss two kinds of graphs, social graphs and activity graphs [34].
In social graphs, an edge between a pair of nodes only indicates the existence of a relationship

the diet of most people. This is primarily because of the price. However, an option that we can take
here is to try to find some local shops that sell out cheap but quality produce.
Farmers market is also another option that can give you low prices as compared with the supermarkets

There are still other ways that you can do in order to eat healthy and smart. A lot of online suggestions

Fundamental Principles Of The Metaphysics Of Morals By Kant
In, Fundamental Principles of the Metaphysics of Morals, Kant states his belief that philosophy is
divided into three parts. The three parts of philosophy include, physics, ethics, and logic. Kant states
that all rational knowledge is either material or formal. Formal/natural philosophy is known as logic,
while material/moral philosophy has to do with reasons. Moral principles, are centered on theories of
reason, rather than character and value. If your actions are taken for morals alone, rather than any
other reason, they are considered morals. Also, an action is judged on the reason it was taken, rather
than the result of that action. Furthermore, if you respect and act in accordance with moral law, then

book was her most influential book and is said to be the most famous book of city planning in the 20th
century. The book is a critique of the urban planning policy of the time period. This planning policy
was the reason for the decline in many neighborhoods in big cities throughout the entire country. As
well as the reason for so many destroyed and isolated communities, particularly those of lower
economic means. Jane in her book was voicing a un popular opinion and proposed a new idea. In the
book Jane focused in her ideas to abolish zoning laws and to restore free markets. Jane used her home
of Greenwich Village as an example of a thriving urban community that was based on the ideals of a
mixture of all people, buildings, and uses. This book challenged many architect of the time as well as
the entire modern development mindset that was to be used in urban planning throughout the country.
Another well known Jane wrote is The Economy of Cities . In this book Jane incorporated her love for
economics as well as her love for design and architecture. She argued that drastic economic growth
comes from cities that are producing their own goods. By replacing imports Jane believes that the
infrastructure, skills of workers, and production speed would increase and become beneficial to all
other aspects of the major cities. Therefore with the major cities being more stable the surrounding
neighborhoods would be more stable as well. Jacobs other big controversial move was when she
argues that cities are more important than agriculture. Jane argues that the trade done in cities is more
cost effective and beneficial than the land competition than that of the agriculture on the outskirts of
the cities. Soon after Jane

social/emotional development and language/communication development are most affected.

One in 42 boys are diagnosed with ASD while 1 in 189 girls are diagnosed. 48% of black children are
classified within the range of intellectual disability while 38% are Hispanic and 25% are white (
Autism Prevalence ).
Families (Characteristics) Stop thinking about normal... You don t have a big enough imagination for
what your child can become, a quote by Johnny Seitz, autistic tightrope artist in the movie Loving
Lamposts. It seems that Johnny Seitz has the right point of view about Autism. Many parents of a
child with ASD may not be able to understand what is yet to come. A diagnosis can affect every
family member in a different way. Much of the family s resources like money will be focused on
providing help and interventions for the child. The earlier the interventions are started the least
intensive the disability will be in the future. There are many ways Autism can change a family
including; affecting marriages, job responsibilities, commitments, therapy, and free time ( Family
Issues ).
Parents should not be discouraged. Tips from parents of children with autism recommend getting help,
asking for help, talking to someone, joining a support group, and taking a break ( Family Issues ).
There are many support groups that parents can join. These groups help parents understand what their
child has and helps them to learn how to help their child in every way possible. Many groups include

Group Owner Responsibilities
Define descriptively what kind of external partner is appropriate for these groups. We can also control
some of this system properties side with the defined email addresses (i.e. *partner.com), however the

Require a signed confidentiality/non disclosure agreement with the partners ( we need to still check on
the details around this one).

Two Group Owners Are Required to Monitor Content Posted
It s always a good idea to have two group owners, so one can cover when the other is not in the office.
For externally accessible groups this is a requirement. Both owners must have completed the security
training, and both must enable notifications and commit to review any content posted in their group
promptly. If anything inappropriate for viewing by group members gets posted, the group owners must
remove it immediately. Remove Access Promptly
When external contributors cease working with , their access to all groups must be promptly removed.

My Dream Day
Tossing, turning, and waking up three times before the sun knocks on my window is what my sleep
usually consists of. Not to mention the heat trying to strangle me as I wake up gasping for breath
every single day. This is a typical morning for me; as sleeping is always the first struggle of the day.
My bed finally kicks me out and my blanket strips its warmness away; now I have no choice but to get
dressed and ready for a perfect day full of nothing but dull diamonds excluding those that actually
shine to me. I finally got dressed and sat still, not fully ready, but not having any desire to move
further in the process. I finally got outside and it s 7:35 .Thoughts started to rush through my head like
a running river. I wonder if the bus came yet? If so, how am I going to get to school today? Although
these thoughts came rushing in my head; I knew that the bus would come whenever it chose to come,
leaving me bewildered in the process. Finally, I arrived at school infinitesimally irritated with how my
morning had gone so far not knowing things would get much worse as my day had so much in store
for me. I got to school and started to go through the line to get breakfast. I got my food and I was on
my way to class, but then, a person whose name I have no idea bumped into me and caused my arm to
spill all the food that was nestled in it. Great, I m hungry and now I will stay that way until someway,
somehow I find food to quench my hunger. I walked to the first period and

Pepsi Of Pepsi Cola Company Essay
Pepsi Cola started as Brads Drink in his drugstore in New Bern, North Carolina in 1893. Caleb Doc
Davis Bradham decided to create a mix of sugar, water, caramel, lemon oil, nutmeg, and other natural
additives. Officially it became Pepsi Cola five years later due to its word of mouth popularity. In 1902
The Pepsi Cola Company was formed due to great demand of the product and popularity among
customers. Mr. Bradham decide to devote all his time to the product and it proceeded to become a full
fledged company. After applying for a trademark, the first Pepsi Cola company was formed and Mr.
Bradham was the first president. The company had many ups and downs but it wasn t due to not trying
to build and market the business. It fell on particular hard times during WW1 and was bankrupt in
1923 and the assets were sold to Craven Holding Corporation, the first of what would become several
ownership changes. In the early 1930 s, Pepsi Cola was once again bankrupt after the trademark was
purchased by New York stockbroker Roy Megargel. In 1931 Pepsi Cola finally took off after being
purchased by Charles G. Guth, the founder of the modern Pepsi Cola. His marketing skills took the
company to new heights, but it was not meant to be. Legal battles cost him ownership and in 1941
Pepsi was merged into Loft Inc. and the Pepsi Cola name merged in Loft. In 1950 a former vice
president of Coca Cola became CEO of the Pepsi and the product took off due to his advertising and
marketing ideas. In

The Pitfalls Of Plastic Surgery Summary
In The Pitfalls of Plastic Surgery, by Camille Paglia, she argues that American surgeons are being too
narrow minded with their work because they use the same models as a representation of what their
clients can look like. She suggests that getting plastic surgery has become such a normal thing in
America and that society pushes women to get work done in order to get that perfect look. Paglia also
points out that plastic surgery has leveled the playing field with wives and their husbands mistresses
(694). Also, she believes that plastic surgery is not only critical in keeping a job, but also in keeping a
relationship. Although I agree with some of Paglia s arguments, I view some of the issues differently
such as, needing plastic surgery to keep a marriage, that plastic surgery is for non intellectuals, that
Hollywood s environment encourages women to change their looks, and that nothing good can come
out of plastic surgery.
Over time, many wives would have to compete with younger women that had a better physical
appearance than them, thus, causing many wives to get plastic surgery so they would not lose their
husband to younger women. Paglia criticizes the idea of women getting plastic surgery in order to
keep their husbands when saying, In the post 1960s culture of easy divorce on demand, middle aged
women have found themselves competing with nubile women in their 20s, who are being scooped up
as trophy second wives by ambitious men having a midlife crisis. Cosmetic

Ukraine crisis briefing paper
Briefing paper.
Should Russia expand beyond Crimea and further into Ukraine.
Introduction.
Tension in Ukraine began to rise when then the president Viktor Yanukovych rejected a deal proposed
by the European Union regarding trade agreements. Late last year when this deal was in consideration,
Viktor Yanukovych began to express his doubts in the final stages about signing the trade agreement.
For everyone in Ukraine it was clear that Vladimir Putin pressured Viktor Yanukovych so much that
essentially Putin made Yanukovych reject the deal. Just days later on 17th December Putin agrees to
buy 9bn pounds of Ukraine s debt and reduce the price of Russian gas supplies by about a third. Just
hours after Yanukovych rejected EU s proposal, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His main motivations are ideology, social base and economic stimulus.
Putin has long upheld a KGB style Cold War mentality mixed with Conservatism of Russian thinkers
from early twentieth century such as Berdyaev, Solovyov and Ilyin. All of these thinkers, in one way
or another, were patriots as well as socialists and wanted Russia to be independent from any western
ideas which they claimed were manipulative in a sense that, western ideas would shape rest of the
world for their own interests. The mixture of ideas presented by these thinkers is exactly what Putin
needs to unite the legacies of both the Russian and Soviet empires into a solid path dependant
ideology. This ideology roughly says that Western countries spread some liberal and deleterious ideas
essentially hostile to Russia s tradition, and deliberately aims to destroy Russia s historically unique
culture that combines autocracy, orthodoxy and Slavic brotherhood. For this reason, Putin has no other
choice but to protect the historical Russian borders from such civilization challenge.
Putin has retained his thug image from his time in Leningrad. This thug image still shows today
through his vocabulary, the criminal bureaucratic system he built in Russia and his bold aggressive
behavior on the international stage. Putin has gained a lot of support from presenting himself in this
way, albeit mainly from the middle class and Russian elites. His

  • 2. Social Stigma Of Domestic Violence The topics in this assignment is mind boggling as much as they are all interesting and have a great impact for us health providers. I chose Domestic Violence because of its alarming statistics. The national coalition against domestic violence reported that on the average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States and in doing the math, it can equate to more than 10 million women and men in a given year. With this overwhelming increase in domestic violence cases is a bigger question of identifying who these patients are given the nature of the problem. The problem creates a social stigma to those who are affected by it. Abused patients have the tendency to cover up the situation because ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Development Of Luxury Industry People love luxury. Some people think it stands for fashion, and some people think it stands for a social stratum, but in common, people think it stands for rich and success. However, is it really a symbol of success? Or, it is just the satisfaction of vanity? People can see what famous people use and wear in television or magazine in their daily lives which gives them a model of rich people s lives. Luxury usually plays a big role. People s vanities push them to spend a huge amount of their income on purchasing luxuries so that they can look more similar to the famous people who they idolize with. Generation to generation, using luxury to measure whether one is success or not becomes a culture, and rich becomes the synonym of success in the society. The development of luxury industry benefits by this unhealthy culture; at the same time, people s vanities also be expended by luxury which cause the distorted definition of success. The development of luxury industry never leaves human s vanity. People want to look rich but not poor, specially, in United States and under American Dream. According to Sales of the Luxury in Selected Countries in 2013 (see figure 1), the country which has the highest sales of the luxury goods in 2013 is United States which is almost four times higher than Japan which is in the second place (Bain Company). People use to compare themselves to their friends and their idols. When Bai Zhen talks about Mr. Louis Vuitton s early age, he mentions a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Research Paper On Gallium The discovery of such an element as gallium does not come as just any accidental discovery. Gallium or Ga, atomic number 31 was in a long research process for fifteen years by Lecoq de Boisbaudran. He had been meticulously studying the spectra of several chemical elements, Lecoq knew that each and every element produces its very own and distinct pattern of lines when heated, or spectra. As Lecoq de Boisbaudran continued his drive to learn more of the distinct element spectra, he distinguished that the element on the periodic table between indium and aluminum was yet to be discovered. What Are The Roles Of Women In 19th Century Russia Feminism (Or Lack Thereof) In Nineteenth Century Russia Throughout history, women have not been seen as equal to men, both politically and socially. As time has gone on, this has improved, however, in nineteenth century Russia, women were seen as objects rather than as people. They had no rights economically, could not vote, and spent their lives under the control of a man. In the 1997 film Anna Karenina, which was based on a novel by Leo Tolstoy, we see firsthand the effect that sexism had on the lives of women. The brave mongoose even saved the lives of the family as a whole. He saved them when Nagaina was threatening to kill the whole family if they did not move or if they did she would also kill them. Rikki Tikki had come with one egg in his mouth to bargain with Nagaina about not killing the family. He fought Nagaina, and chased her away from the table where Teddy s family was eating. This quote shows what his thought process was like before Vasudeva gave him his final advice. He became almost doubtful, and certainly frustrated. After that first weekend, I was instantly hooked to it and spent the next weekend smoking weed with them again. • 18. The Importance Of Technology On Human Interaction And... Up until about twenty or thirty years ago, no one really knew what technology was or how to use a cell phone, tablet, or computer. The iPhone was not even invented until ten years ago, but today, technology plays a role in almost every aspect of every person s life. It is just about impossible to go a day without seeing or using some piece of technology. The extensive amount of technology available today has really influenced the world and how people live. Unfortunately, that influence is not entirely positive; it has hindered human interaction and communication by making people socially awkward, creating relationship issues, and limiting people s abilities to understand and use the written language. Because technology hinders human interaction and communication, people should limit their technological use. First, the more recent generations of children are growing up with technology available everywhere, so they are learning from a very young age what technology is and how to use it. Instead of playing outside with other kids in their neighborhood like their parents did growing up, most children today play video games on a gaming console, laptop, tablet, or cell phone. This is isolating children from the real world and inhibiting their ability to learn how to communicate with others. They are not learning to understand various social clues or even how to have a conversation face to face, and because of this, most kids may feel anxious or overwhelmed when they face a social ... Shah Roll Number: 21 MA I University of Mumbai Department of Applied Psychology and Counseling Centre Abstract The generation effect refers to the experimental findings that when the subject is asked to generate all/part of the stimulus the item is always remembered better than the stimulus that the subject only read (Slamecka Graf). That is the information that the subject generates/creates by oneself is remembered better compared to the information they only read. Results show that in all the cases, the performance in generation condition was superior to that in read condition. Using a repeated measures design, subjects were exposed to 2 levels (conditions, namely, read condition and generate condition). After each condition, they were engaged in a simple recall task, remembering as many words as they could. This phenomenon is applied even across variations in encoding rules, timed or self placed presentation and along with between and within subjects design. A number of potential explanatory principles are considered and their difficulties are enumerated in the following report. To conclude, generation effect is a robust finding. Keywords: Generate Condition. Recall, Memory, Paired associate. Introduction The given report is an empirically based report. • 24. A Study On Neurodevelopmental Psychiatric Disorders Neurodevelopmental psychiatric disorders such as autism spectrum disorders, schizophrenia and anxiety disorders, which typically emerge in children and adolescents, have been extensively investigated worldwide for decades. The pathogenesis and mechanism remained unclear, and no effective treatment has been identified so far. Recently, a variety of studies identified prenatal stress (PS) as a risk factor for neurodevelopmental socioemotional disorders (Khashan et al., 2008, Kinney et al., 2008, Ronald et al., 2010, Monk et al., 2012). A popular thesis proposed that socioemotional disorders arise from PS induced perturbations to early brain development, especially the neurophysiology of amygdala. Various studies have shown that the amygdala is implicated in the pathophysiology of neurodevelopmental psychiatric disorders (Quirk and Gehlert, 2003), also several studies have identified that PS affects amygdala development (Kraszpulski et al., 2006, Laloux et al., 2012). However, little is known about how PS influences the amygdala developmental trajectory. Ehrlich et al. conducted this study to first investigate whether PS has an effect on socioemotional behavior of adolescents and adults, and secondly whether and how PS alters amygdala neuron excitability. They were motivated to explain the relationship among PS, amygdala neuronal activity and socioemotional behaviors because understanding the trajectory of brain development can provide potential targets for intervention of the ... Being a Team Tack Shop ambassador would be an excellent way for me to be able to connect with more positive, motivated equestrians. I started riding at the age of eight, when my dad took me to the barn in our neighborhood. I had initially just went to pet the horses, but I ended getting to ride; and that is where it all started. This is the story of culmination of a chaste woman, Hero. Though Beatrice is supposed to be a supporting character in the play, she however steals the show. Her intelligence combined with her softness makes her the most awesome character of the play. She sees the inappropriateness of the world and instead of being a silent observer, she chooses to raise her voice against it, which is a sure sign of wisdom. We can clearly understand this when, while talking about Hero getting married, Antonio, Leonato s brother says to Hero Well niece, I trust you will be rul d by your father . (ActII.Scene1, 35 40). Throughout the play she is being suppressed by the societal norms. Shakespeare has structured the character of Hero on the lines of a traditional Elizabethan woman, silent and dominated. Through the character of Hero Shakespeare has tried to portray the piteous state of Elizabethan women. However, Beatrice was a little different. She openly objects male dominance. She was not ready to submit herself to male dominance and authority. Government spending is not only a focus of the United State s political system, but it affects one s personal choices and lifestyle. There is a concern with where and why money is spent. A key aspect of government spending is allocated to education. Education is fundamental in how one benefits society and the economy. The United States education program is not only necessary for the success of the country, but it is in need of a more efficient system with increased funding. • 35. The Dangers Of Self Esteem In today s society, I believe that there are many possible hazards if we focus too much on heightening the self esteem of children. One example is that children with very high self esteem could have a lack of motivation in regards to academic assignments and exams. They may not feel the need to study or put in the work to try their best due to the fact that they have the mentality of I m so smart, so I don t need to study. Another example is that high self esteem could lead children to losing respect towards authority. When children become too arrogant, they develop this know it all attitude. They feel that they are better than the authority figure and there is no reason to respect them. All in all, too much focus on heightening self esteem can cause children to lack high goals and expectations and influence them to disrespect authority figures. Instead, we should focus on developing a secure self esteem in which children feel comfortable and happy about themselves. We should teach children the idea that not everyone is perfect and that they should accept their flaws. When children realize that they are not perfect and can still make improvement, they can set goals for themselves and establish determination to get better. 4. • 46. My Dream Day Tossing, turning, and waking up three times before the sun knocks on my window is what my sleep usually consists of. Not to mention the heat trying to strangle me as I wake up gasping for breath every single day. This is a typical morning for me; as sleeping is always the first struggle of the day. My bed finally kicks me out and my blanket strips its warmness away; now I have no choice but to get dressed and ready for a perfect day full of nothing but dull diamonds excluding those that actually shine to me. I finally got dressed and sat still, not fully ready, but not having any desire to move further in the process. I finally got outside and it s 7:35 .Thoughts started to rush through my head like a running river. I wonder if the bus came yet? If so, how am I going to get to school today? Although these thoughts came rushing in my head; I knew that the bus would come whenever it chose to come, leaving me bewildered in the process. Finally, I arrived at school infinitesimally irritated with how my morning had gone so far not knowing things would get much worse as my day had so much in store for me. I got to school and started to go through the line to get breakfast. I got my food and I was on my way to class, but then, a person whose name I have no idea bumped into me and caused my arm to spill all the food that was nestled in it. Great, I m hungry and now I will stay that way until someway, somehow I find food to quench my hunger. I walked to the first period and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 48. The Pitfalls Of Plastic Surgery Summary In The Pitfalls of Plastic Surgery, by Camille Paglia, she argues that American surgeons are being too narrow minded with their work because they use the same models as a representation of what their clients can look like. She suggests that getting plastic surgery has become such a normal thing in America and that society pushes women to get work done in order to get that perfect look. Paglia also points out that plastic surgery has leveled the playing field with wives and their husbands mistresses (694). Also, she believes that plastic surgery is not only critical in keeping a job, but also in keeping a relationship. Although I agree with some of Paglia s arguments, I view some of the issues differently such as, needing plastic surgery to keep a marriage, that plastic surgery is for non intellectuals, that Hollywood s environment encourages women to change their looks, and that nothing good can come out of plastic surgery. Over time, many wives would have to compete with younger women that had a better physical appearance than them, thus, causing many wives to get plastic surgery so they would not lose their husband to younger women. Paglia criticizes the idea of women getting plastic surgery in order to keep their husbands when saying, In the post 1960s culture of easy divorce on demand, middle aged women have found themselves competing with nubile women in their 20s, who are being scooped up as trophy second wives by ambitious men having a midlife crisis. • 49. Ukraine crisis briefing paper Briefing paper. Should Russia expand beyond Crimea and further into Ukraine. Introduction. Tension in Ukraine began to rise when then the president Viktor Yanukovych rejected a deal proposed by the European Union regarding trade agreements. Late last year when this deal was in consideration, Viktor Yanukovych began to express his doubts in the final stages about signing the trade agreement. For everyone in Ukraine it was clear that Vladimir Putin pressured Viktor Yanukovych so much that essentially Putin made Yanukovych reject the deal. Just days later on 17th December Putin agrees to buy 9bn pounds of Ukraine s debt and reduce the price of Russian gas supplies by about a third. Just hours after Yanukovych rejected EU s proposal, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His main motivations are ideology, social base and economic stimulus. Putin has long upheld a KGB style Cold War mentality mixed with Conservatism of Russian thinkers from early twentieth century such as Berdyaev, Solovyov and Ilyin. All of these thinkers, in one way or another, were patriots as well as socialists and wanted Russia to be independent from any western ideas which they claimed were manipulative in a sense that, western ideas would shape rest of the world for their own interests. The mixture of ideas presented by these thinkers is exactly what Putin needs to unite the legacies of both the Russian and Soviet empires into a solid path dependant ideology. This ideology roughly says that Western countries spread some liberal and deleterious ideas essentially hostile to Russia s tradition, and deliberately aims to destroy Russia s historically unique culture that combines autocracy, orthodoxy and Slavic brotherhood. For this reason, Putin has no other choice but to protect the historical Russian borders from such civilization challenge. Putin has retained his thug image from his time in Leningrad. This thug image still shows today through his vocabulary, the criminal bureaucratic system he built in Russia and his bold aggressive behavior on the international stage. Putin has gained a lot of support from presenting himself in this way, albeit mainly from the middle class and Russian elites. His ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
