The Development Of Drivers For Virtual Machines
I. Introduction to the topic This paper will be analyzing the development of drivers for virtual
machines, as well as how virtual machines access host hardware. Topics covered will include what
interest what interest I/O driver virtualization holds for the computer information science field, a
general overview of virtualization, I/O hardware virtualization, and virtualization of I/O drivers.
II. Why the topic is of interest
Due to increased efficiency in Central Processing Units, most computers today are not used to their
full potential. In fact, time interrupt handlers are issued as wait time, thus eating up CPU clock
cycles. Virtualization gave the opportunity for multiple x86 Operating Systems to run on one
machine. As CPU s were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
CPU, memory and resources are divided amongst the OSes by the Virtual Machine Monitors, where
the Virtual Machine resides. The Virtual Machine is a software abstraction that will behave as
though it is a complete machine, with virtual hardware resources, RAM, and I/O hardware [1].
There are two main approaches to virtualization: hosted architecture, and hypervisor architecture. In
hosted architecture, the encapsulation layer is installed in the form of an application on the
Operating System, while the hypervisor architecture involves the installing of the encapsulation
layer, or hypervisor, on a clean system, which gives direct access to the system s resources [2].
The issue of virtualization is that the virtualized OSes do not have full access to hardware
resources and memory. They expect to execute within a high privilege level. The VMM is run in
this high layer, while the OS is moved to the user level, above the application level. This change
in privilege requires costly saving and restoring, and system calls can lead to some CPU cache
loss. Instead, a translation look aside buffer, or TLB, is used upon VMM entry and exit to cache
physical and virtual address translation [3]. Because different privilege levels also effect semantics,
binary translation is used to make up for the move. Three possibilities exist to allow virtualization:
full virtualization with binary translation,

The Struggle In Alex Rogo s The Goal
Alex Rogo, the main protagonist of The Goal , is a plant manager faced with a dire situation;
stop his factory s downward spiral and bring it back to profitability within three months or be
shut down. He is frustrated, scared, and clueless as to how to proceed. Alex knows his
productivity numbers are all within the acceptable limits his company, UniCo, has determined, yet
the plant is still losing money, amassing a great deal of inventory, and failing to meet delivery
deadlines promised to customers. On top of all this his personal life is beginning to crumble. His
wife, Julie is lonely and unhappy. Alex spends all his time trying to fix issues at the plant and is
increasingly absent at home. The outlook is grim. A chance meeting at... Show more content on

They move quality control to inspect items going into the NCX 10 and heat treat and reorganize
the way breaks are taken and place a foreman at each bottleneck so that the machines will always
be in operation. They also label high priority items with a red sticker and low priority items with
a green sticker. Bob finds some old machines to supplement what the NCX 10 does, thus
reducing its workload. A foreman at the heat treat figures out a way to fully load the heat treat for
each cycle and suggests changing the way they remove parts to something much faster. EFFECT
OF ACTIONS: Their throughput increases; slowly at first but with each successive improvement
it increases ever faster. They break monthly shipping records by large margins and reduce work in
progress inventories by 12%. Everything appears to be going well until parts start accumulating at
non bottleneck machines and red tagged parts are arriving at final assembly while the green tagged
parts needed to complete the product are stuck in the process at a non bottleneck

Pros And Cons Of The Aztec Empire
The 1300 s was not a time of peace for the mesoamerican region. Just Prior to the the time period
of the 1300 s, the Toltecs lost their empire to a vast war along with the Tula and ChichГ©n ItzГЎ.
The aftermath of this war left the area unruled for a couple of centuries. The aztecs finally settled
down in the area we know today as mexicocity, around the time of 1325 1345. This settlement
known as the aztecempire ended up being the most powerful of the indian empires of central
america; instilling fear in all the regions around them and withholding the reputation of being a
ferocious cult waging war against anyone. As the aztecs people settled in, more expressions of art
were being seen in jewelry, clothes, structures, statues, ceremonial knives,

Creating a Social Program for the Homeless
Final Project: Creating a Social Program I have decided to create a social program that identifies
the social problem of Homelessness. The new human services, social program will target
helping homeless individuals and families to get off the streets. In order to have a successful
program I have to come up with an outline and cover all of the basics. This program will have
many different resources available to homeless or about to be homeless individuals and
families. There are so many homeless people out there and her in the state of Florida there are
not many places for homeless people to turn to for comfort and safety. So I am truly excited to
be creating this new program that will help many people to go forward and live wonderful and
successful lives, no matter what they have been through. Throughout this paper I will be
discussing some of the things that are needed in order to start an organization. This paper will
serve as an outline or an information source on how to create a social program as well as the
social program that I am creating. Basic Information and Demographics The name of the social
program that I have come up with is called New Beginnings. This organization will be a
community service program for the homeless population. Deciding on a place to put the
organization is very important because it is best to try and target an area that is in need of the
services. After some careful research the demographic area that I have chosen to place this

Forsaken Promises
What does the future hold? What will happen at the end of the age? Will the church be raptured up
into Heaven or will the church remain on Earth? Are the Jews still God s chosen people? Has the
church replaced Israel? These and other questions have been asked since Jesus left Earth and
ascended into Heaven. Since that day Christians have been looking and longing with eager
anticipation for the return of Christ. The study of the return of Christ, or last things, is known as
Eschatology, and within Eschatology there are several schools of thought concerning the Church
and Israel. These schools of thought are known as Covenant and Dispensational Theology. Two
similar schools of thought within Dispensational theology are known as Classical and... Show more

Boice writes, In the OT there is the creation of an ekklesia, an assembly of those who are called
out of a normal relationship to the world in order to be a special people of God. The church is
not Plan B in God s plan of salvation but rather was hinted at in the OT through the calling out of
Abraham and Israel but was not fully realized until the NT. Blaising argues this point when he
writes, The church is seen less and less as a parenthesis in the divine program. Instead it is seen as
vitally linked to and comprehended in the plan of God revealed in the Old Testament. The sharp line
which is drawn between the Church and Israel is dulled within PD as this view attempts to
harmonize the two Testaments into one unifying work of God throughout all of history.
TD views the church as in a parenthetical relationship with God and His plan for Israel. TD taught
that the offer to the kingdom of Israel was genuine, but it was also conditional and contingent on the
nations response, when Israel choose to reject the Messiah, the offer of Jesus Christ was offered to
the Gentiles and the kingdom did not immediately appear but was postponed. TD argue that had the
Israelites accepted the Messiah the Kingdom would have begun immediately, however, since Israel
rejected Jesus the offer went to the Gentiles. Therefore, since

Essay on the American Dream Revised in Song of Solomon
The American Dream Revised in Song of Solomon
America was founded on the belief that all men are created equal. However, a question must be
posed which asks who constitutes men and what is equal ? Africans were taken from their country
and enslaved in America. They had to fight to retain dignity and grace in circumstances that were
deplorable. Even slaves who were well taken care of were not able to realize the dream of being free
again.
In her work, Song of Solomon, Toni Morrison relates a story of the dream of Milkman. Although
he is not a slave, Milkman is enslaved by the fact that as a child, he was forced to participate in a
shameful act that he wanted no part of. Even his nickname was derived from this ... Show more

Instead of letting the situation be and making apologies, He comes to me with some way out tale
of how come and why (76). Milkman did not want to participate in this discussion, but he had no
choice.
Milkman must go on a difficult journey. He was never a slave. His family has money and
education; however, Milkman is not satisfied. He longs to be connected to his past. He leaves
everything behind to discover his roots, and his journey, though it leads to his death, is
accomplished for he is free. His dream has been reached, but he cannot reap its benefits. Milkman
cannot enjoy the success he shares with his family until he finds his people from the South. He
retraces the history that he gathered from his family and recounts it to his people in Georgia where
he discovers more truth and more myths. This revisiting of his roots is a characteristic of Africans,
even if they are not direct descendants of Africa. Their dream cannot be accomplished until they are
sure where their people belonged centuries before the recent generations existed.
Pilate is a prime example of not existing in a traditional family setting. When their father died,
Macon and Pilate were separated and sent to live with relatives or, in Pilate s case, live a nomadic
life traveling from place to place. They had no contact with each other because of a disagreement
that occurred a few days after their father was murdered. Pilate

The Rise and Fall of Mike Sears
CASE: 4 THE RISE AND FALL OF MIKE SEARS
Like Sears was a prodigy of Harry Stonecipher, the blunt talking, hard driving aerospace executive
who became CEO first of Sears earned a reputation as a skilled manager who restlessly cut costs
and boosted productivity, building a program that was below costs and ahead of schedule.
Stonecipher admired Sear s effectiveness at assembling and managing cross functional product
development teams, establishing closer ties with suppliers and improving controls within his
organization. When McDonnell Douglas was acquired by Boeing in 1996, Sears went with
Stonecipher to the acquiring company, where Stonecipher became president until his retirement in
2002. Sears was appointed as chief financial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was also alleged that Druyun broke the law by telling Boeing employees confidential information
about how Airbus had priced its bid for the tanker contract. Boeing fired Mike Sears immediately,
and ultimately both he and Druyun pleaded guilty to criminal wrongdoing and faced jail time.
Ironically the firing of Sears raised questions about the ethics of management at Boeing under Phil
Condit, the man Sears had wanted to replace as CEO. Within a month Condit had resigned from
the CEO position, a victim of the fallout from the scandal, which resulted in the loss of the
military tanker contract. Condit was replaced by Harry Stonecipher, who came out of retirement
to take the CEO position. However, in another disturbing power play at Boeing, Stonecipher was
himself forced to step down after a leaked e mail message revealed that he had initiated an
extramarital affair with an employee at Boeing. Fearing that Boeing was becoming mired in
scandal after scandal, the board of directors asked for Stonecipher s resignation. He was replaced
by Jim McNeary, the CEO of 3M.
Questions
1. From a power perspective, what do you think explains the rise of Mike Sears to the CEO position
at Boeing? What were the sources of his power? Once he became CFO, what did Mike

The Role Of Astrology In Greek Mythology
Astronomy is defined as the study of non Earthly bodies and phenomena such as the sun, moon,
stars, and planets. Human behavior is defined as the range of physical and emotional behaviors that
humans engage in; biologically, socially, intellectually, etc. and are influenced by culture, attitudes,
emotions, values, ethics, authority, rapport, persuasion, coercion and/or genetics. When combined,
the two topics merge into a third one called astrology: the study of celestial entities and how they
apply to the characteristics and affairs of humankind. Astrology has been influences human
behavior on daily lives. In ancient times, astrologers believed that every component of the universe

Uranus is associated with the Titan Prometheus who tricked Zeus into giving fire to humanity,

energy of the planet Uranus. Gibson observed Taylor (all patients are identified with pseudonyms),
one of his ADHD patients, and found that Taylor displayed symptoms of ADHD:
He could never just sit in his chair and wait for his teachers to call on him. He liked to walk

he was sent to the principal s office for punishment and redirection. He fights with his brother and

Budget Deficit Analysis
Across the United States, public schools are experiencing major budget deficits. These deficits
lead to a debate over what program or sometimes multiple programs will be cut from schools in
certain areas. Fine Arts programs are often the first considered and ultimately cut from schools.
More specifically theatre and dance are among the most targeted in artsprograms. The National
Center for EducationStatistics reported, In the 2009 10 school year, 3 percent of elementary
schools offered instruction that was designated specifically for dance during regular school hours.
This percentage represents a decrease from 1999 2000, when 20 percent of the schools reported
instruction that was designed specifically for dance (Parsad 40). However,... Show more content on

Students face high amounts of stress on a daily basis making the main benefit of dance education
stress relief. When an individual dances the body releases the neurotransmitter, endorphins, which
serve as the body s natural painkiller to reduce stress. (Dancing to Relieve Stress par. 3). Another
emotional benefit to dance education is the ability for students to express themselves. A journal
titled, Creativity, Self Expression, and Dance by Peter J. Arnold goes into detail about the
connections between dance, creativity, and self expression. Arnold claims, Self expression in its
naturalistic state is perhaps best characterized as a form of emotional discharge which results from
an unreflective reaction to a situation or event (53). He then explains, It is sometimes said, for
example, that activities like creative writing, singing, music, painting, pottery, carving, drawing,
instrumental music, drama, and dance help the child or adolescent to act out or aggressive
tendencies, conflicts, and tensions (Arnold 53). These activities may not be available for all
students when outside of the school setting, thus removing them from schools would leave students
with less opportunities for

According to the United States department of Justice, Over sixty percent of American children
are exposed to a type of violence every year (Finkelhor, D., Turner, H., Ormrod, R., Hamby, S.,
and Kracke, K. 2009). These forms of violence can be perpetrated by a victims home, community
or school, with majority of children knowing the perpetrator(s). These experiences with violence
whether primary or secondary, can cause serious psychological trauma to a child and in worst
case scenarios death. The 2009 survey by the Department of Justice also found that children
exposed to any form of violence were more likely to engage in violence in the future and almost
forty percent of these children were exposed to multiple acts of violence ( pg.2). The... Show more

The minimalist position ideology is that this problem is overlooked, and they are very skeptical
of these claims. Both of these ideologies are consisted extremist theories and are frowned upon in
the criminal justice system. Karmen explained how Kidnapping was not apart of the UCR and data
was so rare that National Incidence Study of Missing, Abducted, Runaway and Throwaway
(NISMART) was created in 1984. This system found that roughly 40% of these cases were actual
missing children incidences (p. 186), but 40% as well were misunderstanding between the child and
parent, 10% being due to injury/illness. This chapter also gave excellent information on children in
the Justice system, as witnesses, and the laws before 1990. I believe this chapter went into excellent
detail on children as victims, and as the volumes continue I m sure will only become more
extensive. 2. Defending Childhood. Defending Childhood. Web. 14 Mar. 2015. http:/

From the time that man first discovered metals ,he has strived to adapt these metals to be used for
a better society. The art of extracting metals from ores, have made our modern way of living

involve some type of chemistry. Each type of weldinghas its own unique purpose. Each type also
has its own chemistry involved with it. They have all helped man in one way or another. For this
reason we will compare them both and assure the world would not be the same without them both.

Ir Spectrum Lab Report
For both of the unknown compounds the techniques of IR Spectroscopy and both Carbon and
Hydrogen NMR were used to identify the compounds. In IR Spectroscopy infrared waves are shot
through a compound and a spectrum of peaks are created on a computer. Depending on where the
peaks are located and what shapes they are one can identify the functional groups of the compound.
In CarbonNMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) Spectroscopy the number of unique carbons the
compound has are found. Each peak on the spectrum is a unique carbon. Depending on the location
on the spectrum different functional groups that that carbon is a part of can be identified. It can

The structure of the molecule worked perfectly with what was known from the IR, CNMR, and
HNMR spectra. It has a C O stretch and alkanes as suggested from the IR Spectrum. It has an
ether as shown by Carbon NMR and has a hydrogen adjacent to a single bonded oxygen as revealed
by the Hydrogen NMR. The molecule also had symmetry which was a necessity. Lastly, it has
the correct chemical formula C4H8O. It was known which carbons and hydrogens went where
for a couple of different reasons. First, Carbon 1 was an ether which meant it had to be part of
the ether and adjacent to the oxygen. That left Carbon 2 to take the alkane spot. Hydrogen A was
adjacent to a single bonded oxygen which meant it needed to be with Carbon 1. Again, this left
Hydrogen B to fill the alkyl spot because it was bonded as a CH2. All of this is shown in Figure

because both of the hydrogens were triplets. However, information from the splitting pattern was

Health Information Exchange Is The Electronic Movement Of...
Health Information Exchange is the electronic movement of healthcare information amongst
organizations according to the national standards. HIE as it is widely known, serves the purpose of
providing a safe, timely, and efficient way of accessing or retrieving patient clinical data. Health
Information Exchange allows for doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other vital healthcare
professionals to have appropriate access and securely share vital medical information regarding
patient care. Health Information Exchange has been in efforts of developing for over 20 years in
the United States. In 1990 the Community Health Management Information Systems (CHMIS)
program was formed by the Hartford Foundation to foster a development of a centralized data
repository in seven different geographically defined communities. Many of the communities
struggled in securing a cost effective technology with interoperable data sources and gaining
political support. In the mid 1990s a similar initiative began known as the Community Health
Information Networks (CHINs) with the intention of sharing data between providers in a more cost
effective manner. In 2004, the Agency for Healthcare Quality and Research Health Information
Technology Portfolio was funded $166 million in grants and contracts to improve the quality and
safety to support more patient centered care. This was the beginning of the progress we have seen
in HIE today. Health Information Exchange devolvement serves the purpose of improving

Major Themes In The 5th Wave By Rick Yancey
The author of the The 5th Wave, Rick Yancey, had several prominent themes. Three were more
vital; first, war cannot change who a person really is at their core , second, people are defined by
the choices they make ,and third, family is worth living for . These are the best and most
important recurring themes of The 5th Wave. The first theme, war cannot change who a person
really is at their core . Throughout the book, there were several incidences where this theme was
important. For example, Ben tries to make Ringer smile despite being in the middle of the end
of the world. When Cassie and Sammy reunite, he goes back to his five year old self even
though he was in boot camp for months, and lastly Cassie and Evan flirt with each other and
interact with each other like it is high school. Ringer makes an agreement with Ben that if she
teaches him to shoot, Ben will step down as squad leader. When they go to the range, Ringer
tells Ben how horrible he shoots, then he retorts with a comment and his best smile. I give her
my best smile. Before the alien Armageddon happened, I was known for my smile...But it has
absolutely no effect on Ringer, (Page 249).This proves that even though the alien Armageddon is
happening while they speak, he is still the same person as he was before the invasion, a high
school jock hitting on a girl, he has not changed. Cassie retrieves Sammy from the infinite sea of
children and finds that Ben Parish is still alive. Cassie and Ben need to

Scout Reflection
On Saturday, the 28th of October, I presented Earth Rocks to Cub Scouts who were earning their
Merit Badge. As I now reflect on the two sessions I taught that day, I wonder if I could have ever
been truly prepared for them. I believed I had everything lined out and timed to take us right up
to the time their session was over. However, that was not the case because the scouts knew a
considerable amount more about the subject than I realized. I feel honored to have been able to
work with such intelligent groups of scouts. During the first session, I quickly realized that these
Cub Scouts knew an impressive amount about the information I was presenting, so I forced
myself to change how I was presenting the material. I engaged the scouts into the material by

Christopher Columbus Essay
On October 12, 1492, two worlds unknown to each other met for the first time on a small island
in the Caribbean Sea. While on a voyage for Spain in search of a direct sea route from Europe to
Asia, Christopher Columbus accidentally discovered the Americas. However, in four separate
voyages to the Caribbean from 1492 to 1504, he remained convinced that he had found the lands
that Marco Polo reached in his overland travels to China at the end of the 13th century. To
Columbus it was only a matter of time before a passage was found through the Caribbean islands to
the cities of Asia.

The first European nation to begin actively looking for a sea route to Asia was Portugal. The
Portuguese had already begun exploring Africa in the early 1400s, and in 1415 they invaded
northern Africa and conquered the Muslim community. This gained the Portuguese access to the
African trade, which, until that time, had been dominated by the Muslims. The Portuguese began
exploring the western coast of Africa, hoping to find a route to the riches of Asia by going around
the southern tip of the continent. Other nations, not wanting to be left behind, began sponsoring
voyages of exploration as well.
Columbus s father was Domenico Colombo, a wool weaver who was also involved in local
politics. His mother was Suzanna Fontanarossa, the daughter of a wool weaver. The oldest of five
children was Christopher he had three brothers and one sister. When Columbus sailed the earth
everyone thought that the world was flat and if he sailed to far that he would eventually fall off
the edge of the earth. When Christopher went on his voyage to the Americas when he landed, he
thought he landed on the Indian islands and so that is was we call the Native Americans Indians.
When the Europeans came to the Americas they brought a lot of diseases with them like, measles,
smallpox, and malaria and the flu. Columbus went on many voyages to the Americas and each time
he came back people would be astonished by what he would tell them. Columbus was

Abuse And Evil In Michael Jackson s Thriller Music Videos
Music videos are often seen as the parts of the song s story that an artist has trouble putting into
words. Sometimes these details are unnoticeable at first glance, while some are essential to giving
us vital information on what the song is actually about. Michael Jackson s famous Thriller music
video is often viewed as a Halloween binge watching classic, but judging by both the visual and
audio components, it may be more than just a crowd of dancing zombies. There are quite a few
moments throughout the video that can easily be seen as symbolisms of abuse, stalking, and rape/
sex. By viewing the Thriller music videowith this thought in mind, I hope to help you see the true
evil lurking in the dark. Abuse and stalking are actually pretty common amongst couples that are
considered normal by society. When I say normal, I mean in a sense that both partners in the
relationship do not have any serious mental health issues that often trigger both abusive or
stalking habits on people they know or care about. Professor Mary E. Odem, author of
Confronting Rape and Sexual Assault, states, Indeed, other research has found that fewer than 5
percent of men were psychotic when they raped (110). Odem explains that the assumptions of rape
being a mental disease is false, and that the only main thing that made some rapists stand out was
the fact they were considered highly sexually aggressive. For the most part, a rapist could pretty
much be anyone. The video starts off with a

Arctic Tundra Essay
The tundra is by far the coldest type of biome, as it is known for its low temperatures, little
precipitation, poor nutrients, and short growing seasons. Occurring primarily near the Arctic within
the Northern Hemisphere, the soil may be frozen all year up to a few feet, which allows no tree
growth. However, a few animals have adapted to these conditions. These animals include lemmings,
hares, oxen, foxes, wolves, and more. Within the tundrabiomethere are two different types of tundra
biomes, arctic tundra and alpine tundra. Arctic tundra can be found circling the North Pole and
reaching far enough south to reach the coniferous forests of the taiga. The arctic tundra is most

5. Conduct research on one mammal that lives on the tundra and prepare a short essay on your

Among the many species that live on the tundra, there is the arctic fox (scientific name alopex
lagopus). Staying within the tundra (both arctic and alpine) biome, the arctic fox can be found
in parts of Canada, Russia, Greenland, Svalbard, and Alaska. Arctic foxes are known for their
small furry bodies that are covered by a thick white or blue gray coat, short pointy ears, and
bushy tails. Their coloring actually allows them to camouflage into the ice, snow, and will
change to a brown/gray during the summer in order to continue camouflaging. This in turn helps
them with their predatory nature. Although arctic foxes are herbivores and will eat vegetables
occasionally, their primary diet is the meat from small mammals such as voles or lemmings.
However, arctic foxes also feed on a variety of birds, eggs, and will sometimes eat fish. During
the winter months when food is scarce, arctic foxes are known to follow polar bears and will feed
off of their leftovers. Unlike other animals in the tundra, they do not

Moral Compos In A Man For All Seasons
In the play, A Man for All Season, Bolt does not use an omniscient narrator but rather express his
views through two narrators, Thomas More and The Common Man (Ehrenhaf, 2010:193). The
Preface of A Man for All Season, states that the play is not a straight forward narration though more
comparable to a poem that uses the beauty of authentic monologues form Sir Thomas Morehimself

Who Is Gustav Klimt Scandal
During his lifetime, Gustav Klimt rose to fame due to the scandal his paintings causes. With his art,
he shocked his way to success, with his erotic depictions in stark moral contrast with turn of the
century Austrian society. As said in Gustav Klimt: Modernism in the Making, Klimt s reputation
grew as much upon scandal as it did upon the quality of work itself.
But what exactly was the scandal? Nude paintings were hardly new to the art world. It wasn t
subject that was causing a stir, but rather the actions of his subjects. Klimt explicitly depicted female
masturbation and lesbianism in his art. Apart from the studies depicting the most intimate union of
man and woman, the artist concentrated mainly on the various forms of self gratifying ... Show

This painting was considered so scandalous that it was kept in a special cabinet and rarely showed
as not only did Klimt portray the uncomfortable truth about infant mortality but also depicted a
pregnant woman in a sexual manner. Typically, that whenever a pregnant woman is depicted in art,
she is shown with about as much sexuality as the Virgin Mary. Jill Lloyd, an expert in twentieth
century German and Austrian art wrote that Klimt s allegorical women, moreover, are frequently
seductive; even a young woman in the full bloom of pregnancy like Hope I has a seductive allure.
Whereas anti feminists associated women with traditional, saintly ideas of motherhood that were
radically opposed to the threatening sexuality of the prostitute or femme fatale, Klimt combines
elements of both stereotypes to achieve a more complex, ambivalent representations. Even society,
currently likes to hold onto the idea that once a woman has given birth, she is no longer a sexual
being.
Even more controversial was Water Serpents I, painted in 1907. The painting shows two women
both nude and surrounded by the typical Klimt level of ostentatious ornamentation. These two
women are both nude and in a clearly sexual

Grover Cleveland Persuasive Essay
Grover Cleveland Grover Cleveland is the President that I chose for my final project. Grover
Cleveland was known for being an honest and trustworthy politician. However, he is probably best
known for being the only United States President who was elected to two, non consecutive terms

March 18, 1837 in Caldwell, New Jersey. His birth name was Stephen Grover Cleveland. In his
later years he dropped Stephen from his name, most likely because and his friends called him

Crude Oil Last 10 Years
INTRODUCTION
The role of petroleum products in our lives is unquestionable. It is safe to say that oil is the
cornerstone of our civilization. A pessimist might argue that without oil our industrial society will
collapse and there will be rapid decline in the world population. But again that is a pessimist s
view, personally we would like to think that we will in near future find other energy sources on
which we can depend and build our civilization to reach the next milestone.
In this report we have tried to highlight the fluctuations of crude oil during the period of 2001 10.

Thus the oil market participants producers, refiners, marketers, and traders would not have one of
their bases for setting prices in their contracts and other transactions. It does not appear that the oil
industry was materially affected by the closing of the Nymex, which, in any event, resumed all
operations in about one week. While the immediate effect of the attacks on petroleum markets was
to drive prices up, market forces reflecting little change in supply and demand acted quickly, and
crude oil prices eased within little more than a week. Average crude oil prices paid by U.S.
refiners actually declined for the month of September 2001 falling to $20.82 per barrel from $24.08
in the previous month.
2002:
After moving lower in 2001, crude oil prices moved higher in 2002 reaching over $30 per barrel
in September 2002. Higher prices were supported by a number of factors. One was the ongoing
U.S. war on terrorism and rising tensions with Iraq. There was the likely potential that military
action would be taken against Iraq that would disrupt the supply of crude oil to the market. With
that issue still not settled as 2002 drew to a close, crude oil prices continued to find support.
While there were factors supporting higher prices, there were also factors working against them.
The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) after a meeting in 2001 agreed that
production of oil would be cut. The

My research has shown that Roman culture has had more influence. This period of history saw

When the Canal was built towns all along the route from Buffalo to Albany prospered from the
revenue and the attraction the Canal brought with it. Whether the Canal was being used for
business people, immigrants, settlers of the region, or tourists, the border towns all had some
appeal to these persons. After some time the state was continually asked to expand the Canal from
the original route to include connecting canal routes. However, the same towns along the route
from Buffalo to Albany had already been established along the lines of the original canal. These
towns would need to be relocated in order to obey these new requests. This presented a major
problem because the people in these towns had formed a life around the Canal and many of them
made their income based of the Canal. The inhabitants of the towns changed their mentality from
not wanting the Canal to invade on their lives, to it being an essential part of their lives they

other ones of that time. A lot of the land that the Canal went through was uninhabited and therefore

Healthy Food Community Outreach Project Reflection Paper
Our group the Kids Next Door was assigned to a Family Dollars Store in 901 Bridgewood Dr.
Fort Worth, TX 76112 to conduct Healthy Food Community Outreach survey. This Family Dollar
Store opens at 9:00 am and close at 10:00 pm Monday through Sunday. So, on October 19, 2017,
Thursday at 9:00 am, our group went to conduct the survey. We enjoyed conducting this survey
and it was a great opportunity to learn about healthy food in our Tarrant county. As working with a
group on this project, I have gained experiences in teamwork, communication, and exploration.
Before we went to conduct the survey, I was kind of afraid to go shopping there alone. I thought
this neighborhood is dangerous and was not safe for a girl to shopping there alone. However, after
exploring the neighborhood Family Dollar store, my negative thoughts of this neighborhood were
completely changed.
The location of this Family Dollar store is across from Dollar General and about half a mile
from this Family Dollar store, there is Albertson supermarket. I also noticed there was a city bus
stop nearby this Family Dollar store. I found this location as convenient for the residents and
access to public transportation is another factor that gives people transportation options to get to
work and shopping. There were plenty of parking spaces available for customers including
accessible handicap parking spaces in front of the store and near the store entrance. The store
environment was clean, but I did not notice whether the trash bin was placed in front of the store
or not. I arrived there a little bit early around 8:50 am and I saw a few customers walked in the
store ten minutes earlier than store open hour. It was kind of a surprise to see it because I did not
expect the store would allow the customer to walk into the store before the open hour.
Unfortunately, our group member Kayla could not join us for this survey. The rest our group
members met in the parking on the survey day. We brought the survey, but we forgot to bring a

The Causes And Impacts Of The Natural Disaster In China
The first natural disaster recorded in China was in 1556. It was an earthquake that killed 830,000
people ( Deadliest Earthquake in History Rocks China. ). The most recent natural disaster in China
was an earthquake on September 30th, 2017(earthquake.usgs.gov). 451 years later, and China is
still getting natural disastersthat are killing thousands of people. The buildings are being rebuilt,
people are picking up and moving on, but the disasters keep coming back, sometimes causing more
damage than before. The government just rebuilds the same way, no changes in the structures, just
as weak as they were before. When disaster strikes again, the same buildings fall over and over.
According to Corey Flintoff, in an article in which he makes a valid point, China can t control the
disasters that come their way, but they can try to adapt and prepare for the next one. In the
beginning of his article, Flintoff makes the argument that China knows about these natural disasters.
They understand that they are located in an area that is prone to natural disasters, yet when
rebuilding, they don t attempt to make these structures more stable and resistant to disasters, such
as floods and earthquakes. According to World UN News Centre, We know that prevention is better

Should Trade Sanctions Be Stopped Essay
SHOULD ALL TRADE SANCTIONS BE STOPPED?
To most of the world, sanctions are a mixed blessing. On the one hand, they reinforce trade rules
and promote respect for them. On the other hand, they tend to undermine the principles of free trade
and provoke a kind of trade envy (Charnovitz) in other international organizations.
Trade retaliation goes back quite a ways; we see examples of it in much of US law:
Antidumping Act of 1916, which has seen little use.(Charnovitz)
International Labor Organization, from the Treaty of Versailles 1919, which served as an
international dispute system, but no economic measures were ever recommended until 2000,
against Burma.(Charnovitz)

World leaders often decide that the most obvious alternatives to sanctionsare no good military
action would be too strong and diplomatic protests too weak. Sanctions can provide a satisfying
dramatic display, but avoid the high costs of war.(Library of Economics) This isn t to say that
sanctions don t cost a thing, just that they re often less costly than the alternatives.
A second advantage to sanctions can be seen through foreign pressure to promote internal change,
assuming that the sanctioned government wants to comply with the rules, but can t because of
domestic politics.(Charnovitz) We can see in many cases that sanctions are being imposed
primarily for signaling purposes either for the benefit of allies, other third parties, or once again,
their own citizens. If the sanctions aren t carefully targeted or the costs are too high for the
sanctioning country, the intended signal may be lost.(Library of Economics)
Sanctions intended to change the behavior or government of a target country are very difficult to
design. They have to be imposed as quickly and easily as possible.(Library of Economics) By
moving too slowly, it gives the target country time to adjust by finding alternative markets, finding
new allies, and by gaining domestic support of its own policies.
Another advantage of trade sanctions is the fact that they have the power to be enacted

individual slaves, Paul D and Sethe, and how traumatic it was. We are able to connect with the
characters and empathize with them due to Morrison s hyperattention to detail when telling their
stories. Morrison includes every gruesome and horrific aspect of their journey to freedom in the
North; from being left for dead, to killing one s own child. Her incredibly... Show more content on

In chapter seven, the author reveals the reason for the downfall of Halle, and ultimately uses
this story to illustrate the mental trauma that slaves had to face. Morrison also cleverly utilizes
the metaphors of butter and milk to emphasize this trauma. In this chapter, Paul D reveals to
Sethe that Halle witnessed her being sexually assaulted by the schoolteacher s boys, and that
this ultimately broke him like a twig and caused him to run away (Beloved 7, 69). He finishes by
saying the last time he saw him, he had butter all over his face, another implication that the
witnessing of his wife being raped drove him to insanity. Throughout the book, Halle was
described as a good man, and even a source of stability for Sethe. This made it extremely hard for
Sethe to hear this imagery of her ex lover, as Morrison writes, Usually she could see the picture
right away of what she heard. But she could not picture what Paul D said. (Beloved 7, 69) In
addition, Sethe s daughter Denver had an extremely high view of her dad. She said that he was
an angel man and never went crazy (Beloved 208). However, this story showed that the last
memories of his dad, in fact, proved his dad to be crazy. In addition, Sethe describes the
hardships of her rape. I am full God damn it of two boys with mossy teeth, one sucking on my
breast the other holding me down, their book reading teacher watching and writing it up. I am
still full of that, God damn it, I can t go back and add more. Add my husband to it, watching,
above me in the loft hiding close by the one place he thought no one would look for him, looking
down on what I couldn t look at at all. (Beloved 7, 70) Here, Sethe is describing the gross boys with
mossy teeth, emphasizing their grossness. More importantly, however, Morrison is also continuing
the metaphor previously mentioned. Halle witnesses these

The Importance Of Prisons In Prison
A lot of people talk about someone before they get sentenced to prison, but do not ask about what
goes on while they serve time for their actions. Criminals rights are basically revoked during
their sentencing and not given back after. Whether it is the way they are treated by prison
officials, voting while in jail or when they get let free, and the way they are treated for the
religion they follow. They are overlooked by people who have right just because they are locked
up and serving time.
Have you ever asked yourself how are criminals treated while they are serving time? Well if you
have ever asked yourself this questions the answer is poorly. Criminals are treated so poorly by
prison officials. In the article Prisoner Abuse: How Different are U.S. Prisons? they discuss how
prisoners are constantly being abused by their guards. The author states in regards to the way
prison inmates are treated that, In recent years, U.S. prison inmates have been beaten with fists
and batons, stomped on, kicked, shot, stunned with electronic devices, doused with chemical
sprays, choked, and slammed face first onto concrete floors by the officers whose job it is to
guard them. . This is stuff people would usually be sent to jail for doing but because prisoners are
not taken as seriously as other people it is just overturned. This is not a good thing because it does
not go by the human rights that everyone has regardless of the mistakes they make. Officers are
hired to protect inmates from

Evoloution of Polar Bears (Lamarck vs Darwin) Essay
The Polar Bear (Ursus maritimus) is a bear native largely within the Arctic Circle encircling the
Arctic Ocean, its surrounding seas and land masses. Although it is closely related to the Brown
Bear, it has evolved to occupy a narrower ecological forte, with many body characteristics adapted
for cold temperatures, for moving across snow, ice, and open water, and for hunting the seals which
make up most of its diet. Though there are many theories surrounding evolution, the two stand
outstanding hypotheses applying to the modification from Brown Bearto Polar Bear are Lamarck s
theory of Use and Disuse, and Darwin s theory of Natural Selection. The intention of this paper is to
compare these thesis and determine the most appropriate in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In 1977 a drought reduced the number of small seeds available for the birds, forcing them to rely
on larger seeds and nuts, which were difficult for birds with smaller beaks to open. The number
of birds unable to eat reduced as they died and gave way to harder beaked finches. Within a
couple of generations they had evolved larger beaks. In 2003 another drought struck the
Galapagos and as there were many large beaked finches, the food source of nuts dwindled,
making the ability to eat smaller seeds an asset. The numbers of larger beaked birds dwindled as
food became scarce, leaving the smaller birds to survive and reproduce. Darwin s theory was not
well received when first written in On the Origin of Species, though many scientists today use it as
a basis for research in evolution.
Both theories suggest that a species changes over time to be able to better adapt to an environment.
Though Lamarck thought that the entire population of that species would evolve as one, i.e. all
offspring changes together with same adaptation. Darwin concluded that only the specimen with
the mutation or an altered version of a feature to evolve a species as they would be able to adapt
and survive easier than those without it, thus causing the unevolved to die off while the evolved
lived. Over many many generations the species keeps evolving until it has perfected the new trait,
also becoming a new

The Virtual Machine is a software abstraction that will behave as though it is a complete machine, with virtual hardware resources, RAM, and I/O hardware [1]. There are two main approaches to virtualization: hosted architecture, and hypervisor architecture. In hosted architecture, the encapsulation layer is installed in the form of an application on the Operating System, while the hypervisor architecture involves the installing of the encapsulation layer, or hypervisor, on a clean system, which gives direct access to the system s resources [2]. The issue of virtualization is that the virtualized OSes do not have full access to hardware resources and memory. They expect to execute within a high privilege level. The VMM is run in this high layer, while the OS is moved to the user level, above the application level. This change in privilege requires costly saving and restoring, and system calls can lead to some CPU cache loss. Instead, a translation look aside buffer, or TLB, is used upon VMM entry and exit to cache physical and virtual address translation [3]. Because different privilege levels also effect semantics, binary translation is used to make up for the move. Three possibilities exist to allow virtualization: full virtualization with binary translation, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This program will have many different resources available to homeless or about to be homeless individuals and families. There are so many homeless people out there and her in the state of Florida there are not many places for homeless people to turn to for comfort and safety. So I am truly excited to be creating this new program that will help many people to go forward and live wonderful and successful lives, no matter what they have been through. Throughout this paper I will be discussing some of the things that are needed in order to start an organization. This paper will serve as an outline or an information source on how to create a social program as well as the social program that I am creating. Basic Information and Demographics The name of the social program that I have come up with is called New Beginnings. This organization will be a community service program for the homeless population. However, a question must be posed which asks who constitutes men and what is equal ? Africans were taken from their country and enslaved in America. They had to fight to retain dignity and grace in circumstances that were deplorable. Even slaves who were well taken care of were not able to realize the dream of being free again. In her work, Song of Solomon, Toni Morrison relates a story of the dream of Milkman. When I say normal, I mean in a sense that both partners in the relationship do not have any serious mental health issues that often trigger both abusive or stalking habits on people they know or care about. Professor Mary E. Odem, author of Confronting Rape and Sexual Assault, states, Indeed, other research has found that fewer than 5 percent of men were psychotic when they raped (110). Odem explains that the assumptions of rape being a mental disease is false, and that the only main thing that made some rapists stand out was the fact they were considered highly sexually aggressive. For the most part, a rapist could pretty much be anyone. The video starts off with a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Staying within the tundra (both arctic and alpine) biome, the arctic fox can be found in parts of Canada, Russia, Greenland, Svalbard, and Alaska. Arctic foxes are known for their small furry bodies that are covered by a thick white or blue gray coat, short pointy ears, and bushy tails. Their coloring actually allows them to camouflage into the ice, snow, and will change to a brown/gray during the summer in order to continue camouflaging. This in turn helps them with their predatory nature. Although arctic foxes are herbivores and will eat vegetables occasionally, their primary diet is the meat from small mammals such as voles or lemmings. However, arctic foxes also feed on a variety of birds, eggs, and will sometimes eat fish. Nude paintings were hardly new to the art world. It wasn t subject that was causing a stir, but rather the actions of his subjects. Average crude oil prices paid by U.S. refiners actually declined for the month of September 2001 falling to $20.82 per barrel from $24.08 in the previous month. 2002: After moving lower in 2001, crude oil prices moved higher in 2002 reaching over $30 per barrel in September 2002. Higher prices were supported by a number of factors. One was the ongoing U.S. war on terrorism and rising tensions with Iraq. There was the likely potential that military action would be taken against Iraq that would disrupt the supply of crude oil to the market. With that issue still not settled as 2002 drew to a close, crude oil prices continued to find support. While there were factors supporting higher prices, there were also factors working against them. The author states in regards to the way prison inmates are treated that, In recent years, U.S. prison inmates have been beaten with fists and batons, stomped on, kicked, shot, stunned with electronic devices, doused with chemical sprays, choked, and slammed face first onto concrete floors by the officers whose job it is to guard them. . This is stuff people would usually be sent to jail for doing but because prisoners are not taken as seriously as other people it is just overturned. This is not a good thing because it does not go by the human rights that everyone has regardless of the mistakes they make. Officers are hired to protect inmates from ... • 44. Evoloution of Polar Bears (Lamarck vs Darwin) Essay The Polar Bear (Ursus maritimus) is a bear native largely within the Arctic Circle encircling the Arctic Ocean, its surrounding seas and land masses. Although it is closely related to the Brown Bear, it has evolved to occupy a narrower ecological forte, with many body characteristics adapted for cold temperatures, for moving across snow, ice, and open water, and for hunting the seals which make up most of its diet. Though there are many theories surrounding evolution, the two stand outstanding hypotheses applying to the modification from Brown Bearto Polar Bear are Lamarck s theory of Use and Disuse, and Darwin s theory of Natural Selection. The intention of this paper is to compare these thesis and determine the most appropriate in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 1977 a drought reduced the number of small seeds available for the birds, forcing them to rely on larger seeds and nuts, which were difficult for birds with smaller beaks to open. The number of birds unable to eat reduced as they died and gave way to harder beaked finches. Within a couple of generations they had evolved larger beaks. In 2003 another drought struck the Galapagos and as there were many large beaked finches, the food source of nuts dwindled, making the ability to eat smaller seeds an asset. The numbers of larger beaked birds dwindled as food became scarce, leaving the smaller birds to survive and reproduce. Darwin s theory was not well received when first written in On the Origin of Species, though many scientists today use it as a basis for research in evolution. Both theories suggest that a species changes over time to be able to better adapt to an environment. Though Lamarck thought that the entire population of that species would evolve as one, i.e. all offspring changes together with same adaptation. Darwin concluded that only the specimen with the mutation or an altered version of a feature to evolve a species as they would be able to adapt and survive easier than those without it, thus causing the unevolved to die off while the evolved lived. Over many many generations the species keeps evolving until it has perfected the new trait, also becoming a new ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
