Evangelical Protestantism versus Catholicism
Protestants and Catholics are constantly being compared and weighed against one another in order to
declare whose faith is best or true. Though there are many similarities between each faith as they are
both Christian denominations, their differences cause much friction between the two groups. Some of
the foundational Catholic beliefs revolve around the ideals that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that the
Bible is the inspired, error free, revealed Word of God, and the existence of the Holy Trinity, which is
one God in three persons. In the Evangelical Church, there is only one God, the creator and ruler of all
things. Although the nature of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first big difference between the two is what they acknowledge as Holy scripture. Catholics not
only use the Old and New Testament scripture but also use the Apocrypha and the catholic
interpretation of the bible. Evangelicals believe that they are justified or saved by faith alone, not by
good works. Good works are not ignored and you will be rewarded in heaven for them but that is not
what saves you in the eyes of an evangelical. Contrary to this belief Catholic hold to the ideal of
baptism being the removal of sins and in turn God grants grace to those that are baptized. The grace
given by God is then used to produce good works. Evangelicals believe and practice baptism however
unlike Catholic they only practice adult baptism. Catholics practice infant baptism, which is an un
biblically supported custom. Purgatory is another custom evangelicals reject. Catholics profess that
there are two types of punishment, a temporary and eternal. Purgatory is pretty much a holding place
for people that have only committed certain kinds of sins. For evangelicals believe that only God can
forgive sins but Catholics claim that priests have been given authority to forgive sins, standing in
place of the Holy Spirit. Roman Catholic beliefs include the special authority of the pope the ability of
saints to intercede on behalf of believers, and the doctrine of transubstantiation that is, that the bread
used in the Eucharist

Fortinbras Laertes And Hamlet Comparison
In William Shakespeare s tragedy Hamlet , Fortinbras, Laertes, and Hamlet find themselves in very
similar situations. They all had love and respect for their father s and felt the need to avenge their
unjustified deaths. However, there are differences between them. The character of Fortinbras was the
only one to accomplish his goal and become king of Denmark in the end. Shakespeare s comment
through Fortinbras as a man of action, allowed the audience to see that he acts rather than thinks.
Hamlet is portrayed as weak and indecisive. When he is confronted with meeting the ghost of his
father and asked to avenge his death, he quickly agrees to the revenge and comes up with a plan to
fool everyone into thinking he is crazy. However, he is seen as a man who does not act, with his
inability to make decisions or quick actions does not help his plan of revenge.
GHOST
Revenge his foul and most unnatural murder.
HAMLET
Murder?
GHOST
Murder most foul, as in the best it is,
But this most foul, strange, and unnatural.
HAMLET
Haste me to know t, that I, with wings as swift
As meditation or the thoughts of love,
May sweep to my revenge. (1.5.25 31)
The reader wonders if Hamlet had known who the killer was before, he would have still agreed to help
so quickly. After he vows to his father to avenge him, Hamlet becomes obsessed with the thought of
avenging his father s death and making everyone believe he is crazy, rather than act on what he first
set out to do. We see as he

Cabaret Movie Comparison
After watching both of the films for this week I definitely noticed a difference in the film narratives
due to musical numbers and how they were integrated. While watching 42nd Street, the musical
numbers were quite confusing to me. I struggled to understand how they provided context to the film.
As I did not see how they fit within the storyline of the films. I also believe the disconnection between
the numbers and the film made me question, the films event s and I thought I misunderstood certain
moments in the film because the musical numbers did not make sense. I also did not enjoy the fact that
during the numbers themselves there was dialogue going on and the focus shifted during the number. I
think this lessened the impact of the number ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was as if the focus was the music numbers opposed to the films, which in my opinion is the best part
of a musical. I enjoyed watching the numbers and seeing the elaborate costumes and details that were
put into them. Furthermore, in Cabaret, one could tell that the music numbers really fit in with the film
and provided more insight into what was going on. A good example of this was the during the musical
number Maybe This Time sung by Sally which demonstrated her relationship with Brian and how it
has evolved. Their relationship turned into more than a friendship and as the number goes on Sally
sings of the hope she has of this relationship being the real deal and withstanding the test of
time.Through this musical number the audience is able to understood how Sally is feeling without the
use of any actual dialogue. I do believe there is some relation between the context of integration/non
integration and the contexts in which the films were made. 42nd Street was created during the Great
Depression and it seems as if there was some caution in terms of the film was made. It seems as if the
events of the film were more so on the safe side and no feathers were

Organizational Behavior Theory
1 INTRODUCTION There are a few factors that determine an individual s well being as essential as
income. Income is paramount to live a sufficient lifestyle for self and those who are dependent on us.
Income is a stable aspect of job to the workers, organizations and the society in general. Income has
huge role to play in determining the behaviors, attitude and perceptions of individuals in an
organization and this can be a major driver of organization behavior. Using utility theory, in particular
the concepts of marginal utility and marginal rate of substitution the author analyzes how the job
satisfaction and wages of family employees differ from those of regular employees. The objective is to
infer that the family employees have more job satisfaction than regular employees while receiving
lower wages. Income can cause both positive and negative affect work and family balance. The effects
of income has not been widely discussed as one of the major contributor to organizational behavior
topic and instead topics such as monetary incentives and pay for performance schemes have been
documented exhaustively. Finally, some (e.g. Lea Webley, 2006) have argued that the psychology of
money is a visceral one, exhibiting similarities to the effects of other visceral influences on human
behavior such as hunger and thirst and, as Loewenstein (1996) notes, visceral influences are often
underestimated by individuals, partly because people tend to forget how important they were in

Essay on The Importance of Following Orders
The importance of following orders in a time of war. 1. Team member 2. Discipline 3. Causalities
Conclusion: Following Orders in the Armed Services in a Time of War By: Pv2 Beasley Imagine
being in an authoritative position in a war. Sounds cool right? Now imagine if your subordinates didn t
follow the orders you put out to them. You just imagined chaos right? In my opinion there is no limit

The team I m referring to is simply a cooperative unit. Being a part of a team entitles you to be
responsible for your actions, follow the orders of your subordinates, and perform them with honor
integrity and selfless service. How can following orders in a time of war affect your team members?
Imagine if you are on deployment to Iraq and you or a fellow soldier were told by your supervisor to
fill up the gas cans and bring them down to the motor pool once they were filled and fill the vehicles
up. What if you or the soldier decided to perform the order in your own time and you/ they forget.
Now imagine your team is given an order to move out due to hostile parties moving in. Your team
goes to the vehicles start them up and realize they are all low on gas. I hope that expresses the
importance of following orders while being a part of the armed services in a time of war. The
members of the armed forces are well know, and well respected for their discipline. Part of that
discipline comes from the ability to follow the orders of your subordinates, even if they don t feel like
it or don t agree with them. How disciplined can a soldier be if they don t follow orders. The soldier in
question can t be very disciplined if they fail to follow instructions right? It goes against everything a
soldier stands for. This makes them a danger to their team members, especially in a time of war. I do

DESCRIBE THE STRUCTURAL COMPARTMENTATION OF MAMMALIAN CELLS
AND THE DIFFERING FUNCTIONS OF THESE COMPARTMENTS
All mammalian cells are eukaryotic, and whilst the eukaryotic type of cell is not exclusive to
mammals, mammalian cells differ from other eukaryotic cells because of the organelles that are or are
not present. For instance some plant cells have chloroplasts which are not present in mammalian cells,
but both plant cells and mammalian cells are eukaryotic in nature. The term eukaryotic refers to the
cell having specific membrane bound organelles, which are not present in prokaryotic cells. The
defining feature of a eukaryotic cell is usually its membrane bound nucleus (the exception being the
red blood cell) [1].

The small ribosomal subunit, amongst other things, is initiates the engagement of the mRNA and is
responsible decoding the genetic information during translation [4].
The endoplasmic reticulum is specialised for protein processing and lipid biosynthesis. One of its
primary functions is to regulate the ionic concentration in the cytoplasm via the movement of Ca2+,
via ionic pumps and channels. It also contains enzymes responsible for the metabolising of drugs.
Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) can come in two forms. As depicted in Fig. 2 Rough ER has ribosomes
present as part of the membrane of the organelle, and together with these ribosomes takes polypeptides
and amino acids from the cytosol and synthesises proteins destined for attachment to cell membranes.
It is in the lumen of the rough ER that the proteins are folded into the specific three dimensional
shapes that are so important for biochemical recognition and linking sites [6]. It is called rough
because of the presence of ribosomes makes the surface of the membrane look rough, unlike smooth
ER, which lacks the ribosomes so the membrane looks smooth. Rough ER is composed of a large but
convoluted flattened sac. The main function of the smooth ER is the production of lipids and the
metabolism of compounds (such as the breakdown of glycogen into glucose). Because of the different
functions between the rough and smooth ER, different specialised cells will have different amounts of
each; for example, hepatic

Most children s material used Bible stories and life lessons to give children the lessons of life. Books
like Aesop s Fables2 and Children s Stories of the Bible3 children are taught things such as
perserverance, hard work, patience, and obedience. Aesop s Fables teach children important lessons
about how to live their lives. The stories vary from The Hare and the Tortoise, to Briar Rabbit, and
The Ant and the Grasshopper. each of these stories are presented to children to teach them the lesson
of perserverance by seeing how the tortoise never gave up and because of the haughtiness and pride of
the hare, the tortoise won the race. The child that hears or reads this story may not realize that they are
being taught lessons, but they will still begin to learn that pride and haughty attitudes will cause them
to lose things that are important, while perseverance will lead to gain. obediences the other stories
teach respect for others things, that disobedience will lead to trouble, and that hard work will take you
further than laziness. Similarly, the Children s Stories of the Bible, which used to be a staple in most
schools and homes, teaches the stories of the Bible characters, but also teaches the values that are
taught in the stories. This book teaches the story of David and Goliath. Not only does it tell about how
David did an amazing feat by defeating the giant but also teaches children to stand up

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Statutory Interpretation
TRADITIONAL RULES OF STATUTORY INTEPRITATION
LEGAL RESEARCH AND WRITING II
LAW 108
when parliament has exceeded a certain stage, it falls to the court to apply the statute in a particular
case. This can lead to hardship in the sense that the fact of certain issues may not have been concluded
by the parliament or where right are been moved as an error in the statute.
The three traditional rules of statutory interpretation are:
1 THE LITERAL RULE
2 THE GOLDEN RULE
3 THE MISCHIEF RULE.

Advantage and disadvantage of the golden rule
1: The main advantage of the golden rule is that raising mistakes and statutes can be corrected
immediately. This is seen in the (R V ALLEN)1872 case where the loopholes where closed the
decision was in line with parliament intentions and it gave a more just outcome
2: the main disadvantage of the golden rule is that judges can technically and wisely change the law
by exchanging the meaning of words in the statute . the can potentially infringing the separation of
power between legal and legislature.
The golden rule would help if there is no absurdity in the statute. For example the London and
northeastern railways V BERRIMAN 1946 CASE
Where the widow couldn t get compensation because the wording of the statute didn t allow for the
circumstances or the situation.

Part One Of Don Quixote By Miguel De Cervantes
Entering a fantasy land like Disney World is one thing; reconstructing the real world into a fantasy
land is another. The reconfiguration of the real world into an imaginary one summarizes what Part
One of Don Quixote, written by Miguel de Cervantes, is about. The story narrates a parody of Spain s
historical idea of chivalry by starring Don Quixote, a man obsessed with nobility. Don Quixote walks
through a knight errant journey with the faithful peasant Sancho Panza and creates the journey by
mentally transforming everything, such as Spain s prostitutes into ladies, windmills into ferocious
giants, inns into luxurious castles, etc. Contrary to the main overview of the story, Cervantes didn t

The first goal suggests pride, the second, faith. These two qualities speak loudly for why Don Quixote
dreamed of fighting in the name of chivalry. Now Quixote s weakness in these two qualities certainly
affect his character, but it s the strengths that make him admire knights. In regards to fame, nothing
seemed more glorious than being a glamorous and gallant knight in 16th century Spain so Don
Quixote symbolically represented his patriotism towards Spain. He hides nothing when it comes to his
pride. In fact, he said I know that I can be not only all of those whom I have mentioned, but every one
of the Twelve Peers of France, and every one of the Nine Worthies as well, because all the deeds
performed by them both singly and together will be exceeded by mine (Cervantes 50). Boasting about
exceeding historical figures of chivalry, especially considering the fact the comment was to his
neighbor, demonstrated his yearning dream for fame. Every soldier gives up his or her life with some
hope their lives would be remembered for serving a

Mcewan s Use Of Irony In Jane Eyre
McEwan uses irony to express loss of innocence over time and because of war by using amo
chocolate. Paul Marshall is known as the chocolate millionaire (McEwan, 26) because he sells amo
chocolate to the soldiers and earns an abundant amount of money doing so. The word amo is a pun
because it shoulds like the word ammo which is used in guns. The word amo is also a reference to
Latin meaning love. In World War II, most soldiers were just a child living at home under the
supervision of their parents. Now, they are eighteen or nineteen being drafted into the war. McEwan
uses the word amo which means love presumably because the chocolate will remind the soldiers of
their home and thor innocence lost from the horrors of war over time. Paul sells ... Show more content

McEwan ends Atonement with a letter from the author to the reader. It reveals who was narrating the
novel most of the time by revealing the date London 1999 (McEwan, 350) and if the reader can recall
the age of the character and the year of that age, the reader can determine who has been narrating the
novel the entire time and has been using their point of view, As the character also confesses who they
are, they also confess they have lied throughout the novel. One of the ways we know the character is a
liar because he/she tells the reader what other characters are thinking, but of course he/she could not
possibly know what the other characters are thinking. The mass of the novel is in third person but
generally it is in third person omniscient, which means that we are usually following along in one
particular character s head. Who this character is, though, often switches around from character to
character. What was once an innocent character who begins to lose their innocence as they grow older
and serving the author s purpose is actually now telling the reader that they have not been innocent the
entire time. So, McEwan s purpose of showing how innocence is lost as time progresses is lost by
revealing who the point of view the novel is in and confessing that bits and pieces of the story are

Essay On Purchasing Parity Power
The purpose of this paper is to examine the key term of purchasing parity power (PPP). This key term
is used for several global business processes and decision making from the strategic to the operational
level of management. The current research is mathematically based with regard to the validity of the
variables used to calculate PPP and provides examples of ways to restructure the variables for certain
business processes. Ultimately, it is a term and algorithm in which global business leaders should be

In other words, the exchange rate is the equalizing factor that maintains product costs relatively
consistent across countries.
While there are myriad of PPP calculations, there are two general approaches, absolute and relative
(Hyrina Serletis, 2010). The absolute calculation relies on the nominal exchange rate and the relative
accounts for fluctuations like inflation (2010). In fact, the variables of the calculation create the
controversy, in that, scholars agree that there are additional non constant variables to consider and
many different perspectives to view the variables. Nevertheless, despite the controversy regarding how
PPP is calculated, it is used for analyzing and reporting on costs across countries by the International
Monetary Fund (IMF), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and
by global business leaders to make decisions (Investopedia, 2016).

was to prove that the PPP calculation, and one in particular, enables the highest level of accuracy for
cost benchmarking for international businesses (Langston, 2016). He did this because current
benchmarking calculations use exchange rates to first get monetary units to U.S. dollar (USD), instead
of using PPP, which is a more comprehensive picture of location

Essay on The Prince vs. the Republic
Machiavelli s criticism of Plato s The Republic states that a ruler who possesses an inherent quality of
that which is consistently good will never have the authority to rule his or her people successfully. If a
ruler always treats his subjects in a manner, which can be qualified as good, then he will ultimately
meet his demise, as his subjects will rise against him. Machiavelli claims that it is unrealistic to
assume that all the people of a kingdom will conduct themselves in a manner that will be consistent
with the ruling of a good leader. Such republics or principalities do not exist in reality and are entirely
hypothetical situations.

He believes that the knowledge and application of the good will lead to a perfect state. However, this
cannot be said to be realistic, as despite the education of the good, one s desires will ultimately
overcome the need to be good and the state will collapse. If the rulers are only thinking of the overall
good of the state, their own needs will not be met, which can lead to unhappiness on the part of the
rulers and ultimately to the downfall of the system. Machiavelli implies in his criticism that the needs
of the ruler must be met in order to maintain a stable state, he must trust his instincts and base desires
in order to remain true to himself. If he does not, as Plato states and does as he ought to, not as he
wishes to, then he will be living a lie within himself and not rule as he should. Without being true to
what human nature tells one to do, an uprising either within the ruler or of the subjects will take place
and the state cannot stay afloat.
As Plato states in the republic the desires of the less respectable majority are controlled by the desires
and the wisdom of the superior minority (Part 5, 431d), however one cannot suppress all of the desires
forever and the people will finally realize the oppression that they are experiencing and rise against
the superior minority . The minority will not possess the power needed to control the less respectable

How Does Emerson Characterize The Scholar
Emerson elaborates upon the necessity of the scholar by describing his pivotal role in society. He first
describes the responsibilities of the scholar as to cheer, to raise, and to guide men by showing them
facts amid appearances. The description introduces the idea that the world brims with illusions
intended to prey upon the weakness of the common man, and that the scholar must help him navigate
this labyrinth of truths and inaccuracies. Furthermore, Emerson elucidates that the scholar s
responsibility encompasses interpreting the world around him by personifying Reason as an entity that
pronounces on the passing men and events of today, and tasking the scholar with interpreting her
observations. Emerson goes on to characterize the scholar

know that Tiresias is blind when the stage directions said so in the beginning of the scene (enter blind

This is because the color blue filling Tiresias s eyes represent the ocean. The ocean here symbolizes
life. Life can be harsh like the crashing waves of the ocean while other times it can be stable like the
calm waves. Tiresias is a blind prophet who can deliver prophecies that will happen in the future;

Advantages Of Asynchronous Communication
Another tool of asynchronous communication is the tool of sharing videos and slideshows through the
Internet. This is sharing videos and slideshows over the Internet with the purpose of teaching and
communicating to other people about language and cultural learning. This mode of asynchronous
communication can be between two or more people and has a time delay between the sending of
information and the receiving of information. Language learners share information between each other
in the form of slideshows/power point presentations and video files. This allows the participants to
learn together as a group and to help each other learn about the cultures and language structures that
might be causing them trouble. A drawback to this though is that it doesn t really allow for feedback
on the topics covered in the slideshows or video files, and communicating questions regarding the
topics covered can become hard and would require a second form of either synchronous
communication or asynchronous communication to ensure the any problems or questions relating to
the topic can be rectified and cleared up. Another ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

communication is that does not give an immediate response, which for time sensitive projects can be a
major issue. Also it may arise that you are unaware whether or not the other person has received your

The procedure for attaining license starts with a simple process of filling the application. But the
criterion that must be fulfilled is not that simple and needs serious involvement and commitment. A lot
of confusion arises and this can be overcome by approaching reputed agencies of marijuana medical
consulting in Canada like www.growlegally.ca.
Medical marijuana license consulting agencies like that mentioned above help their customers in the
following way:
 Medical marijuana consultants refer the client to Health Canada s laboratories which test and certify
the future product if the client is given a license. After getting license and cultivating cannabis, the
quality of the product has to meet the requirement according to the standards set by these laboratories;
hence it is essential for the client to know before hand what lays ahead.
 Most clients are unaware of certain divisions of the application; this will lead to improper filling
and rejection. MMPR consultants make sure that the application is properly filled and there is no case
of rejection.
 Agencies of medical marijuana consulting in Canada also make sure that their customers follow all
the standard operating procedures

Medieval European Inventions
Inventions in Medieval Europe
Magnetic compass:
A magnetic compass has a magnetised needle, that is generally in line with magnetic poles of the
Earth, and is used to help people navigate.
The magnetic compass provided medieval Europe with many benefits, and changed how people
navigated. One benefit the compass offered was the opportunity to travel more often. People would no
longer have to rely on on nature or seasonal navigation techniques, such as migrating birds and the
tide. Exploring new parts of the world was made easier too, as explorers of the world wouldn t have to
rely on inaccurate signs like dead fish and seaweed to navigate, and wouldn t get lost as easily.

Printing Press:
The printing press, invented by Johann Gutenberg, had a significant impact in Medieval Europe. It
drastically cut the cost of producing printed materials, including books, and made copying easier.
Before the invention of the printing press, to make multiple copies of books, people (most often
monks,) would have to laboriously copy the text by hand. This was a very time consuming and costly
manner, as the monks would commonly write on vellum (treated skins.)
The printing press made copying text incredibly faster and much cheaper. Gutenberg s printing press
meant more access to information, more dissent, more informed discussion and more widespread
criticism of authorities, observes the British Library.
With his press, the first books that Gutenberg printed, were copies of the bible, all 200 copies selling
before the printing was complete! During the European Reformation, ideas associated with the new
Protestant faith were popularised, due to the printing press.

All the President s Men
The movie All the President s Men (1976), is based on the work of Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein
two Washington Post newspaper writers, who uncovered the cover up of the White House s
involvement in the Democratic Party National headquarters, Watergate, break in. At first, Bob
Woodward discovers what seems to be a minor break in but is surprised to find that top lawyers were
already on the defense case. He also discovers that names and addresses of Republican fund
organizers were being accused, which further aroused his suspicions. When he brings this to the

asked a Washington Post female co worker to get them the office s worker directory since she used to

the directory listing and called them up. This is unethical according to the theories listed in our book,
first of they are using another s past relation in order to get papers for them, and second they are
intruding in these workers lives. The problem would not be that big if they just gave a call, but when
they noticed no one answered their phones they actually went out and bombarded these people at their

Their actions did not follow both Bok s Model and Aristotle s Golden Mean theories. One of Bok s
values on ethical issues is to have empathy for others, which Bernstein and Woodward didn t have.
They both knew that the workers were being watched after a few tries of door knocking and that by
them showing up and talking can cause these people to lose their jobs. They both still pursued on and
didn t care what would happen with those people. Aristotle s Golden Mean of making the majority

Examples Of Ethical Dilemma In Nursing
As nurses, it is inevitable that at one point or another in our careers we will come across ethical
dilemmas when providing patient care. In fact, nursing has been labeled as the most ethical profession.
For nurses to meet the ethical obligations of the profession, the American Nurses Association (ANA)
developed the Code of Ethics for Nurses. Since ethics are fundamental to nursing practice, I believe
this code is of utmost importance. Patients strongly depend on a nurse s honesty and on their
adherence to those standards. By adhering to those standards, it allows nurses to develop a trustful
nurse client relationship while displaying compassion and empathy. Although these standards are put

the importance of consumers knowing the difference between debit cards, credit cards and prepaid
cards. If consumers do not understand the difference between the three cards and the way to use them,
they could end up in financial disaster. If the consumer understands the card, then it can be useful and

liability, and security, and which card provides more control. It also discusses the reasons consumers

more than their account balance; and some checking accounts charge fees each time the consumer

felt more in control of their money than with a debit card. The Bluebird card allows up to four

There are many opinions mentioned in the article as well. Some of the opinions mentioned are: a debit

How Did Honey Affect Aboriginal Culture
Regarded as a very important part of the aboriginal culture, bees have been used by aborigines for
food, tools and trade for thousands of years. Honey held great values and was considered a sign of
respect. This was shown when honey was given to tribal elders by the hunters. Honey was treated as a
highly prized substance, giving as a gift or traded as a valuable product. If this valuable substance was
not traded or gifted, aborigines would simply use it to sweeten foods.
Referred to as Sugarbag by the aborigines, native honey contains a lot of resin from native trees such
as the eucalyptus tree. Due to its value, honey was scavenged for and found in nests located in trees,
stumps, rocky crevices and muddy river banks. In order for the aborigines to find native bee hives,
hunters would catch foraging bees and attach small pieces of light weight materials such as pieces of
feather, spider web or grass to the pollen sacs or resin that was being collected by the bees. ... Show

The bee s flight speed was then decreased and slow enough for the aboriginals to follow it back to its
hive.
Hives that were situated high in a tree were not disturbed by cutting down the tree, instead, the honey
was gathered by carving foot holes into the tree. This allowed for the aboriginals to climb up to the
hive. The contents of the hive would then be obtained and left to recover and rebuild, to be collected at
a later date.
Beeswax and resin were important for making weaponry. These bee by products were used to fasten
pieces of stone to wood. This would be achieved by heating the wax until it became a malleable liquid
and would then be poured over the two materials and left to dry. Once dried, the honey would harden
acting as a strong glue to hold the material together to be used for hunting

Persuasive Essay Against Euthanasia
Euthanasia
You only get one life. It s actually your duty to live it as fully as possible. (Moyes, Jojo. Me before
you. Penguin Books, 2016). Life is a celestial object, and we are obliged to handle our lives with
prudence. Abdicating your life is vile and dissolute. Assisting in the termination of one s own life is
even more absurd; therefore, it should be hindered. Euthanasia should be stated illegal and prohibited
throughout the whole world, for it leads to disadvantageous long term consciences including
distrusting the medical field and giving more power to doctors than what they deserve. Usually, those
who demand euthanasia are pressured by those around them including doctors, and they are deceived
by their depression.
Euthanasia devastate patients trust in the medical field. If your teacher gave you the choice whether to

is the easier choice. Human beings are inevitable to pick the obstacle free route; therefore, if doctors
were given the choice to simply kill people whose cases seem unpromising, they will select this
choice. Doctors will be discouraged to research and create new medicines. What is the point? I can
just painlessly and effortlessly kill them . Cures that could extenuate pain will not be discovered

The Unexamined Life Is Not Worth Living Analysis
In order to talk about Socrates claim that the unexamined life is not worth living a person first has to
understand the context that it was used in. In the Apology, Socrates used that phrase when he was in
trial for corrupting the youth. The court was allowing him to counter their punishment of death and
suggest a different punishment. After ruling out all other forms of punishment, Socrates says this and
he is therefore, sentenced to death. Both the author of the Apology, Plato, and Socrates became

privilege to examine their life. It is not a necessity to examine your life. It is something that very few
people can do, and I think that if a person is able to do it, then they should. They might discover

Legacy Admissions Advantages
In the United States a system of legacy admissions has existed for a long time. Although there are
many admission advantages such as standardized test scores, academics, or family history, legacy
admissions is the most common form of advantage. Every year students with low grades and less
impressive resumes, compared to other applicants, find a way to get in just by relation to a previous
graduate. Routinely, both public and private universities give preferential treatment to children of
alumni which gives even more advantage to the already advantaged. Legacy preferences clearly
violate the basic notions of fairness and equity, that should exist when applying for a university, and
needs to be eliminated from college admissions. Within institutes of higher education legacy status is
valued mainly for economic and community building reasons. Colleges have the belief that by
admitting children of alumni, those alumni are more likely to stay involved with the school and donate
money. Elite colleges often defend legacy admissions as necessary system for fund raising. It is also
believed within university admissions that legacies will become very active alumni due to their family

Samuel Beckett has been attributed the label of the last modernist as well as the first post modernist.
His plays are filled with dark humour and absurdities, Beckett s play Waiting for Godot 1, which he

(their nick names for each other) decide to wait for this figure Godot even if they have to come back

Vladimir and Estragon expressing several times the desire to leave, to stop waiting for Godot, they
arrive at exactly the same conclusion every time: they can t leave due to the simple fact that they are
waiting for Godot (Beckett 6). In this article I will explore the peculiar relationship that Vladimir and

Charter Of Rights And Freedoms Essay
In Canada, we as Canadians live in a country in which our values are protected and respected, and this

Since its enactment in 1982, the Charter has improved all Canadian citizen s ability to participate in

Questions for Discussion
1. Evaluate product innovation at Gillette throughout its history. Has Gillette been a victim of its own
success? Has product innovation in the wet shaving market come to an end? Explain.
While evaluating the product innovation at Gillette throughout its history, it is easy to relate to the
companies ups and downs, as well as its struggles. Especially in the younger developmental years, we
see the resilience of the company and the drive that was necessary in order to continue operations.
These hardships pushed the company to continue to refine its product and mine for new innovations. It
was stated that the Gillette Company lead the personal care and grooming industry ... Show more

Overall, one upmanship can be deadly to both companies whom constantly try to outdo themselves
and also offer better prices. The primary reason why this can be deadly is by cutting profit margins
thinner and thinner. Ultimately price is what sells and item and not quality, especially if the quality is
marginal. You don t have to go far to see this classical struggle. Gas stations are a prime example of
one upmanship. Profit margins on gas are noted to be very thin. If you consider gas station prices on
neighboring stations, they are typically very close if not the same. These stations have effectively
locked themselves into a commitment to match or exceed their competitor s price in order to draw
higher sales, because ultimately what sells gas at neighboring gas stations is the best price.
3. What actions would you recommend over the next five years that would help Gillette maintain its
worldwide dominance in the shaving market? What specific marketing program discussions would
you recommend? Should Gillette be worried about Schick? Explain.
Over the next five years, it is recommended that Gillette continue innovation. Innovation is key in any
market; you must continue to exceed customer expectation while continuing to meet basic needs. Over
the next five years, it is also important to keep up with changes in market demands and also listening
to consumer feedback. Marketing programs that involve getting guys to try their new

Elio begins to explore his mind, body, and sexuality. During this time he meets a friend Oliver who is
twenty four years of age. During this movie these characters build a friendship and a relationship. Not
only does this movie include a same sex relationship, it also informs us with knowledge of the
mysteries that we find within ourselves. Elio is still at a young age where some people have not
experienced sex, relationships, or knowledge when it comes to sexuality. Movies can be used as a
form of entertainment, but also can provide knowledge and input on specific topics. This relates to
Chapter One page seven in our textbook, for example Television and digital video viewing are major
sources of information about sex for teenagers, contributing to many aspects of young people s sexual
knowledge, beliefs, and behavior (Yarber). Television can also have a negative impact on us as
humans whether that be by affecting your brain, behavior, or health. There will always be critics in the
movie industry, but the purpose of movies like Call Me By Your Name can be used to help others look
deep within their own thoughts and feelings. Just as did Elio, movies can be influential. Whether that s

Harry s Monologue
I felt a drop on my face and groaned from being awoke, I heard my name being called but it sounded
muffled although it was becoming clearer. I opened my eyes slowly to see Harry above me. My eyes
widened, why was he down here? What are you doing here, Harry? Tom... I mean Riddle... I mean the
Basilisk... H how did you... My mind was going a mile a minute and wouldn t slow down. Hush,
Harry whispered to me, I looked at him worriedly and began to look him over for anything wrong with
him. Hey, hey, calm down. I m fine, but you re not. What happened? He asked. Harry, I I didn t mean
to do it. Tom made me. He... He... I tried to get the words out, but my mouth wouldn t say it. Harry

I could barely stand by this point and felt like I was going to collapse. I didn t really pay attention until
I realised the floor disappear beneath me, that was the last thing I saw before I blacked out. * My eyes
flickered open and my eyes took a while to focus. When they did I saw I was in the infirmary, I looked
around me to see Harry at my bedside. His head was on my bed, he must have been sleeping. I smiled,
he looked really peaceful. I took him in for a moment before deciding to tap him on the shoulder. He
moved slightly then went still again. I rolled my eyes and tried again a bit harder. He turned his head
to face me, squinting because he had just woken up. It took him a few seconds of staring before he
realised that I was awake. Suddenly I was engulfed in a hug. Don t you ever do that again, he
whispered in my ear, my arms wrapped around him to hug him back when a sharp pain went up my
arm. I hissed, and he pulled back. He looked towards my arm and I followed his gaze. My arm was all
bandaged up, memories flooded back to me. Tom, the diary, forgetting who he was... Damn, what did I
get myself into? I chuckled to myself. For some reason I found it incredibly funny, after everything
that happened, all the crazy stuff, I just laughed. My laughing became louder until Harry was joining
me, he gained his breath after laughing and asked me: why are we laughing? in between breaths. I
shook my head because I couldn t answer. Eventually our

Essay Miracles
Miracles From the Latin word miraculum meaning object of wonder enters the word miracle. Many
definitions have been formed for the notion of a miracle but most would agree that it is most
commonly an unexplainable extraordinary event, inspiring awe and wonder unto its witnesses. Similar
definitions state that it is a supernatural event, contrary to the established constitution and course of
things or a deviation from the known laws of nature .
The term a priori refers primarily to the basis on which a proposition is known. If a statement has been
written a priori it has been made without prior ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, Hume s second argument puts forward, why many people will support a miracle claim, the
passion of surprise and wonder, arising from miracles being an agreeable emotion gives a sensible
tendency towards the belief of those events from which it is derived. Furthermore, Hume explains that
even those who did not enjoy that pleasure first hand yet love to partake of the satisfaction .... And
place a pride and delight in exciting the admiration of others. Hume s statement suggests many people
will have a natural tendency to suspend their reasoning when testifying to a miracle because of the
emotional effect it has on them.
Hume describes natural laws as having been established by firm and unalterable experience . What is
thought to be a miracle may be in fact a part of the world and part of the laws that we do not fully
understand yet.
Derived from the scientific understanding of the 18th century and the world, natural law was meant to
reflect the perfection of God, therefore it could not be broken. Conversely similar to miracles natural
law is left open to interpretation. Locke suggested that trust

Transformation and Healing in John Paul Lederach s Book...
In When Blood and Bones Cry Out: Journeys through the soundscape of healing and reconciliation
(2010), John Paul Lederach, together with his daughter Angela Jill, study the use of metaphors from
sound to foster new pathways of conflict transformation and healing. They ask the question how do
people express and then heal from violations that so destroy the essence of innocence, decency and
life itself that the very experience penetrates beyond comprehension and words? (2010, p. 17). In the
Lederach s perspective, aural properties found in music, poetry, story telling and creative dance, with
their regard for repetition and capacity to resonate diverse sounds, offer alternative facets for conflict
transformation and broadminded dialogue. These ideas, linked with aural and sonic metaphors, give
voice and sound to societies needing to express the atrocities incurred at the hand of violence.
Together, the Lederach s propel the reader to envision another approach to social healing in settings of
protracted violence. An elemental point made throughout the book is the shift away from the linear
and sequential methods for healing transformation and reconciliation to a dynamic and circular
process. The linear method is not equipped to handle post conflict environments where the end of the
conflict does not signal the end of violence, especially for women. As Lederach Lederach point out
with their story of Sierra Leone, the disturbing reality for women is that the sexual

  • 3. Evangelical Protestantism Vs. Catholicism Amanda Powell World Religions Larry Poston 11/20/14 Evangelical Protestantism versus Catholicism Protestants and Catholics are constantly being compared and weighed against one another in order to declare whose faith is best or true. Though there are many similarities between each faith as they are both Christian denominations, their differences cause much friction between the two groups. Some of the foundational Catholic beliefs revolve around the ideals that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that the Bible is the inspired, error free, revealed Word of God, and the existence of the Holy Trinity, which is one God in three persons. In the Evangelical Church, there is only one God, the creator and ruler of all things. Although the nature of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first big difference between the two is what they acknowledge as Holy scripture. Catholics not only use the Old and New Testament scripture but also use the Apocrypha and the catholic interpretation of the bible. Evangelicals believe that they are justified or saved by faith alone, not by good works. Good works are not ignored and you will be rewarded in heaven for them but that is not what saves you in the eyes of an evangelical. Contrary to this belief Catholic hold to the ideal of baptism being the removal of sins and in turn God grants grace to those that are baptized. The grace given by God is then used to produce good works. Evangelicals believe and practice baptism however unlike Catholic they only practice adult baptism. Catholics practice infant baptism, which is an un biblically supported custom. Purgatory is another custom evangelicals reject. Catholics profess that there are two types of punishment, a temporary and eternal. Purgatory is pretty much a holding place for people that have only committed certain kinds of sins. For evangelicals believe that only God can forgive sins but Catholics claim that priests have been given authority to forgive sins, standing in place of the Holy Spirit. Roman Catholic beliefs include the special authority of the pope the ability of saints to intercede on behalf of believers, and the doctrine of transubstantiation that is, that the bread used in the Eucharist ... • 4. Fortinbras Laertes And Hamlet Comparison In William Shakespeare s tragedy Hamlet , Fortinbras, Laertes, and Hamlet find themselves in very similar situations. They all had love and respect for their father s and felt the need to avenge their unjustified deaths. However, there are differences between them. The character of Fortinbras was the only one to accomplish his goal and become king of Denmark in the end. Shakespeare s comment through Fortinbras as a man of action, allowed the audience to see that he acts rather than thinks. Hamlet is portrayed as weak and indecisive. When he is confronted with meeting the ghost of his father and asked to avenge his death, he quickly agrees to the revenge and comes up with a plan to fool everyone into thinking he is crazy. However, he is seen as a man who does not act, with his inability to make decisions or quick actions does not help his plan of revenge. GHOST Revenge his foul and most unnatural murder. HAMLET Murder? GHOST Murder most foul, as in the best it is, But this most foul, strange, and unnatural. HAMLET Haste me to know t, that I, with wings as swift As meditation or the thoughts of love, May sweep to my revenge. (1.5.25 31) The reader wonders if Hamlet had known who the killer was before, he would have still agreed to help so quickly. While watching 42nd Street, the musical numbers were quite confusing to me. I struggled to understand how they provided context to the film. As I did not see how they fit within the storyline of the films. I also believe the disconnection between the numbers and the film made me question, the films event s and I thought I misunderstood certain moments in the film because the musical numbers did not make sense. I enjoyed watching the numbers and seeing the elaborate costumes and details that were put into them. A good example of this was the during the musical number Maybe This Time sung by Sally which demonstrated her relationship with Brian and how it has evolved. Their relationship turned into more than a friendship and as the number goes on Sally sings of the hope she has of this relationship being the real deal and withstanding the test of time.Through this musical number the audience is able to understood how Sally is feeling without the use of any actual dialogue. I do believe there is some relation between the context of integration/non integration and the contexts in which the films were made. 42nd Street was created during the Great Depression and it seems as if there was some caution in terms of the film was made. • 8. Organizational Behavior Theory 1 INTRODUCTION There are a few factors that determine an individual s well being as essential as income. Income is paramount to live a sufficient lifestyle for self and those who are dependent on us. Income is a stable aspect of job to the workers, organizations and the society in general. Income has huge role to play in determining the behaviors, attitude and perceptions of individuals in an organization and this can be a major driver of organization behavior. Using utility theory, in particular the concepts of marginal utility and marginal rate of substitution the author analyzes how the job satisfaction and wages of family employees differ from those of regular employees. The objective is to infer that the family employees have more job satisfaction than regular employees while receiving lower wages. Income can cause both positive and negative affect work and family balance. The effects of income has not been widely discussed as one of the major contributor to organizational behavior topic and instead topics such as monetary incentives and pay for performance schemes have been documented exhaustively. Finally, some (e.g. Lea Webley, 2006) have argued that the psychology of money is a visceral one, exhibiting similarities to the effects of other visceral influences on human behavior such as hunger and thirst and, as Loewenstein (1996) notes, visceral influences are often underestimated by individuals, partly because people tend to forget how important they were in ... Imagine if you are on deployment to Iraq and you or a fellow soldier were told by your supervisor to fill up the gas cans and bring them down to the motor pool once they were filled and fill the vehicles up. What if you or the soldier decided to perform the order in your own time and you/ they forget. Now imagine your team is given an order to move out due to hostile parties moving in. The small ribosomal subunit, amongst other things, is initiates the engagement of the mRNA and is responsible decoding the genetic information during translation [4]. It also contains enzymes responsible for the metabolising of drugs. Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) can come in two forms. As depicted in Fig. 2 Rough ER has ribosomes present as part of the membrane of the organelle, and together with these ribosomes takes polypeptides and amino acids from the cytosol and synthesises proteins destined for attachment to cell membranes. It is in the lumen of the rough ER that the proteins are folded into the specific three dimensional shapes that are so important for biochemical recognition and linking sites [6]. It is called rough because of the presence of ribosomes makes the surface of the membrane look rough, unlike smooth ER, which lacks the ribosomes so the membrane looks smooth. Rough ER is composed of a large but convoluted flattened sac. The main function of the smooth ER is the production of lipids and the metabolism of compounds (such as the breakdown of glycogen into glucose). Because of the different functions between the rough and smooth ER, different specialised cells will have different amounts of each; for example, hepatic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Machiavelli implies in his criticism that the needs of the ruler must be met in order to maintain a stable state, he must trust his instincts and base desires in order to remain true to himself. In fact, nursing has been labeled as the most ethical profession. For nurses to meet the ethical obligations of the profession, the American Nurses Association (ANA) developed the Code of Ethics for Nurses. Since ethics are fundamental to nursing practice, I believe this code is of utmost importance. Patients strongly depend on a nurse s honesty and on their adherence to those standards. • 30. How Did Honey Affect Aboriginal Culture Regarded as a very important part of the aboriginal culture, bees have been used by aborigines for food, tools and trade for thousands of years. Honey held great values and was considered a sign of respect. This was shown when honey was given to tribal elders by the hunters. Honey was treated as a highly prized substance, giving as a gift or traded as a valuable product. If this valuable substance was not traded or gifted, aborigines would simply use it to sweeten foods. Referred to as Sugarbag by the aborigines, native honey contains a lot of resin from native trees such as the eucalyptus tree. Due to its value, honey was scavenged for and found in nests located in trees, stumps, rocky crevices and muddy river banks. In order for the aborigines to find native bee hives, hunters would catch foraging bees and attach small pieces of light weight materials such as pieces of feather, spider web or grass to the pollen sacs or resin that was being collected by the bees. ... Hives that were situated high in a tree were not disturbed by cutting down the tree, instead, the honey was gathered by carving foot holes into the tree. This allowed for the aboriginals to climb up to the hive. The contents of the hive would then be obtained and left to recover and rebuild, to be collected at a later date. Beeswax and resin were important for making weaponry. These bee by products were used to fasten pieces of stone to wood. • 31. Persuasive Essay Against Euthanasia Euthanasia You only get one life. It s actually your duty to live it as fully as possible. (Moyes, Jojo. Me before you. Penguin Books, 2016). Life is a celestial object, and we are obliged to handle our lives with prudence. Abdicating your life is vile and dissolute. Assisting in the termination of one s own life is even more absurd; therefore, it should be hindered. Euthanasia should be stated illegal and prohibited throughout the whole world, for it leads to disadvantageous long term consciences including distrusting the medical field and giving more power to doctors than what they deserve. Usually, those who demand euthanasia are pressured by those around them including doctors, and they are deceived by their depression. Euthanasia devastate patients trust in the medical field. If your teacher gave you the choice whether to do your homework or not, what will you choose? Of course, you won t do your homework because it is the easier choice. Human beings are inevitable to pick the obstacle free route; therefore, if doctors were given the choice to simply kill people whose cases seem unpromising, they will select this choice. Doctors will be discouraged to research and create new medicines. What is the point? I can just painlessly and effortlessly kill them . Although there are many admission advantages such as standardized test scores, academics, or family history, legacy admissions is the most common form of advantage. Every year students with low grades and less impressive resumes, compared to other applicants, find a way to get in just by relation to a previous graduate. Routinely, both public and private universities give preferential treatment to children of alumni which gives even more advantage to the already advantaged. Legacy preferences clearly violate the basic notions of fairness and equity, that should exist when applying for a university, and needs to be eliminated from college admissions. Within institutes of higher education legacy status is valued mainly for economic and community building reasons. Colleges have the belief that by admitting children of alumni, those alumni are more likely to stay involved with the school and donate money. In When Blood and Bones Cry Out: Journeys through the soundscape of healing and reconciliation (2010), John Paul Lederach, together with his daughter Angela Jill, study the use of metaphors from sound to foster new pathways of conflict transformation and healing. They ask the question how do people express and then heal from violations that so destroy the essence of innocence, decency and life itself that the very experience penetrates beyond comprehension and words? Together, the Lederach s propel the reader to envision another approach to social healing in settings of protracted violence. An elemental point made throughout the book is the shift away from the linear and sequential methods for healing transformation and reconciliation to a dynamic and circular process. The linear method is not equipped to handle post conflict environments where the end of the conflict does not signal the end of violence, especially for women.
