Consumer Perception Of Consumer Behavior Essay
Consumer Perception
Consumer behaviours are constructed by their attitudes, and the attitude itself is the result of the
consumers perception (Fishbein Ajzen, 1975). This construct is explored in the Theory of Reasoned
Action, where Fishbein and Ajzen (1975) state this in regards to attitude behaviour relationships.
When it comes to greenwashing, research has found that this attitude behaviour relationship could
manipulate the perception of the consumer. The consumer perceptions when it comes to companies
can be explained by: perceived deception, which is caused by an organization which misleadingly
advertises its product as being green (Newell et al., 1998); perceived scepticism, from consumers
regarding an environmental claim which could then decrease any possible positive impact on
consumer behaviour (Albayrak et al., 2011), and; perceived inconsistency, which is caused by a
company s inconsistency in relation to advertising claims about being green versus their actual
behaviour (Gallicano, 2011). Consumer perceptions towards products can be explained using the
concepts of: perceived distrust, which is an unwillingness to have confidence in a product, this can
stem from an expectation resulting from a lack of credibility and/or environmental performance (Chen
Chang, 2013); perceived risk, which is connected to possible consequences of a wrong decision (Peter
Ryan, 1976), and; perceived confusion, which arises as a result of consumers failing to acquire

Ralph s Characters
Atavism, the retrogradation of philosophy and evolutionary traits, is consequently the result of
prolonged exposure to primal environments. However, the consequences can lead to wrongful ethical
and moral actions. Considering the allegorical tale, Lord of the Flies by William Golding, one must
consider the island being a representation of the human mind itself. The only structure and object that
a human can retain whilst dismissing all else is the presence of their own thoughts, their own reality.
Shaped by external stimuli, all humans have the innate traits demonstrated in novel s characters. From
Simon s innate value of morality, through Ralph s impulse for democracy, and including Jack s
incentive towards savagery, these natural born instincts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

overpowering impulse for bloodlust, power, and savagery. His craving for meat directly led to his
atavistic primal tendencies, signified by his barbarism and splintering of the original tribe. In addition,
his original knife symbolizes the increased possibility of killing in the human

Titanic Research Paper
The RMS (Royal Mail Ship) Titanic was the middle child in a series of three ships: the Olympic, the
Titanic, and the Britannic. These unprecedentedly large ships were built in Belfast, Ireland, in the
shipyard of Harold and Wolff for the White Star Line company. The Titanic and her sister ships were
built 269.1 meters long, 28.2 meters wide, 53 meters from the keel to the top of the funnels, and
weighing in at a whopping 46,000 tons (Felkins, Leighly Jr., Jankovic, 1998). On April 2, 1912, The
Titanic finally sets sail to Southampton, England, where it was to start its maiden voyage to New
York. Finally, on April 12, 1912, Titanic commenced its infamous voyage. Just four days into the
journey, tragedy had struck. Despite receiving multiple warnings of dangerous ice sections and
icebergs throughout the day, the Titanic continues on its course through the frigid Atlantic waters
without diversion. The captain of the ship, Smith, goes to bed around 9:20. However, at 11:40 on April

Importance Of Parliamentary Sovereignty
To answer the question as to whether parliamentary sovereignty promotes good government and
strong democratic and constitutional values, this essay shall firstly define what is meant by the term
parliamentary sovereignty. Secondly, it will analyse what good government and democracy is said to
be in society today and if that corresponds to the role of parliamentary sovereignty in the United
Kingdom. This essay will also significantly look at namely the rule of law and the separation of
powers within the United Kingdom and if it in some way it generates democracy. Finally with
reference to various sources of law, the essay will describe the level as to which parliamentary
sovereignty has changed and shaped actions in the United Kingdom s government in response to the
Miller Case.
Parliamentary sovereignty or parliamentary supremacy is a notion in constitutional law. Dicey
depicted parliamentary sovereignty as the right to make or unmake any law whatever; and further, that
no person or body is recognised by the law of England as having a right to override or set aside the
legislation of Parliament. Three aspects are present in this definition of parliamentary sovereignty; the
first is that Parliament can make or unmake any laws. The second principle is that Parliament cannot
be bound by its predecessors nor does it have the legal right to bind its successors. An example of this
is the case of Ellen Streets Estates Ltd. v Minister for Health [1934] in which the courts held

Pharmacology And Migraine Research
Migraine and Evidence based pharmacology
Introduction
In the current medical practices, there are several treatment options. The pharmaceutical industry
produces so many drugs that perform similar functions (Chaitow Schoenen, 2013). However, the
pharmacokinetics of the drugs are quite different. Moreover, all the drugs in the market have different
side effects and toxicity profiles. The same drug tends to behave differently in different people.
Therefore, doctors are faced with hardships when choosing the best treatment option to adopt in
particular patients. It is for this reason that evidence based practice(EBP) was introduced.
Evidence based practice in the field of medicine is used to refer to the application of results obtained
from empirical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Migraine headaches are often experienced on one side of the head (Tepper, 2004). The pain is
associated with the pulsatile sensation that differs from one person to another. Migraine is also
characterized by throbbing and pounding headache that can lead to nausea, vomiting, and in some
instances photophobia. Presently, about 12 % of Americans experience migraine headaches every day.
Research shows that migraine mostly affect people aged 15 to 55 years (Tepper, 2004). Migraine has
been said to occur as a result of impaired nervous and circulatory system. In migraine, blood vessels
undergo vasodilation. The enlargement of the vessels interferes with the nerve cells that normally
surround the vessels making them secrete various chemical mediators. These chemicals include
prostaglandins, substance P, interleukins, and cytokines (Schulman, 2010). The chemicals are
responsible for inflammation and transmission of pain impulses. The associated feelings of nausea and
vomiting are attributed to the activation of the sympathetic nervous system. The sympathetic response
also leads to slowed motility and gastric emptying that in turn reduces absorptions of gastric contents
such as nutrients and drugs. Additionally, the sympathetic system also leads to excessive sound and
light sensitivity. Statistics reveals that migraines affect more women than men. The severity of
migraine headaches ranges from mild, moderate to severe depending on the individuals affected. In
some instances, migraine headache can be a major cause of morbidity due to its debilitating

Breast Cancer That Develops From Breast Tissue Essay
Breast cancer that develops from breast tissue. Signs of breast cancer may include a lump in the
breast, a change in breast shape, dimpling of the skin, fluid coming from the nipple, or a red scaly
patch of skin. In those with distant spread of the disease, there may be bone pain, swollen lymph
nodes, shortness of breath, or yellow skin.
Risk factors for developing breast cancer include: female sex, obesity, lack of physical exercise,
drinking alcohol, hormone replacement therapy during menopause, ionizing radiation, early age at
first menstruation, having children late or not at all, older age, and family history. About 10% of cases
are due to genes inherited from a person s parents. Breast cancer most commonly develops in cells
from the lining of milk ducts and the lobules that supply the ducts with milk. Cancers developing from
the ducts are known as ductal carcinomas, while those developing from lobules are known as lobular
carcinomas.
In addition, there are more than 18 other sub types of breast cancer. Some cancers develop from pre
invasive lesions such as ductal carcinoma in situ. The diagnosis of breast cancer is confirmed by
taking a biopsy of the concerning lump. Once the diagnosis is made, further tests are done to
determine if the cancer has spread beyond the breast and which treatments it may respond to.

Replacing Conventional Layer 2 Vpns
I. Introduction:
Numerous endeavors are considering replacing conventional Layer 2 VPNs, for example, Frame Relay
with MPLS based administrations. For giving virtual private network (VPN) administrations,
Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) turning into a more across the board innovation, MPLS
building design security is of expanding concern to Service Providers (SPs) and VPN clients.
MPLS is being utilized to accomplish the accompanying results: to specialist the core network all the
more effortlessly and proficiently (customary MPLS and MPLS activity building), to give VPN
administrations (MPLS VPN), and to encourage nature of administration (QoS) over a network core
(MPLS DBP).
In this research paper, the principle aspect is about the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Briefly:
 VPN whichever is considered must have the capacity to utilize the same location space same as the
other VPN has.
 VPN whichever is considered must have the capacity to utilize the same location space as the
MPLS core.
 Between any two VPNs, routing must be free.
 Between any VPN and the core routing must be independent.
MPLS permits distinct VPNs to utilize the same location space; the space can be private address. By
including a 64 bit route distinguisher for every IPv4 route this can be accomplished, making VPN
special addresses additionally exceptional in the MPLS core. The word extended address is called as
VPN IPv4 address and is shown in Figure 1. In this way, clients of a MPLS administration don t have
to change current addressing in their networks. Figure 1: VPN IPV4 address
There is a way for Routing partitioning between the VPNs. For every associated VPN each PE router
keeps up a different Virtual Routing and Forwarding case (VRF). Routes which are populated from
one VPN for every VRF on PE router, the routes are statically configured or run between the PE and
CE router with help of routing protocols. Since each VPN brings about a different VRF, there will be
no impedances between the VPNs on the PE router.
(ii) Process of hiding infrastructure core:
The main aspect is that internal structure of the MPLS core network (Provider edge (PE) and Provider
(P) components) must not be visible to outside networks (other VPNs). This

Governments direct exchange, lead war with different nations, give fundamental administrations, and
most essential, limits individual conduct. Left to itself; governments can and have executed,

matters as discourse, religion, and affiliation. The acknowledgment of human rights, regularly
communicated in a lawfully restricting bill of rights, is a response against such oppressive regimes
intended to constrain the force of the administration.
Due process rights are the cases a criminal litigant has when blamed by the legislature for an unlawful
demonstration. The legislature must regard these rights some time recently, amid, and after a criminal
trial. Disregarding of any of the due procedure rights will ordinarily void a conviction. In this sense,
due process rights can t be automatically relinquished. One s entitlement to be free from discretionary
captures, detainments, and outcasts is the focal worry of due process rights. A variety of other due
process rights backings and actualizes this focal right. A key part of the due procedure rights is the
privilege to a reasonable trial.

Primacy Effect
A personality for the incredibly beautiful can be a pointless cargo... (Brand 97). Regardless of a
beautiful person s actual ability, they are generally considered to be more able in almost every aspect
than less attractive people. According to Benjamin Karney, professor of social psychology and co
director of the Relationship Institute at UCLA, people often treat others differently based on their
perceived attractiveness (Soderburg 1). In this case, an ugly person can be defined as one who does
not possess the general physical characteristics that most people would associate with beauty. Ugly
people get the short end of the stick when it comes to both their looks and how well they are treated by

Strangers will base their actions toward another person based on the first things they notice about that

information can be physical attractiveness... (Hein 1). Although it is not certain as to why this effect is
in place, it is certain that this effect is real and common in today s society. This inclination for
attractiveness to equal superior treatment follows over into areas of a person s life that are not
exclusively centered around recreational social interaction. For example, those who are universally

Analysis Of The Movie Butterfield Stars Essay
Butterfield stars as Bruno, a curious, stubborn eight year old whose family is relocated to the
countryside when his father receives a new job as a head member of the Nazi party, working for the
Auschwitz Birkenau concentration camp. Lonely and frustrated from having no one his own age to
talk to, Bruno explores past the limits of his backyard. He comes across a barbed wire fence, with a
young boy named Schmuel (played by Scanlon) on the other side wearing what Bruno perceives to be
striped pajamas. The two boys strike up a friendship through the fence, with Bruno coming to visit
Shmuel almost daily. Neither boy grasps that Schmuel is in a death camp, and when Schmuel
confesses to Bruno that he is Jewish, Bruno doesn t not seem to understand why that matters. Curious
as to what really lies on the other side of the fence, Bruno and Schmuel plot for him to sneak into the
camp, which leads to the demise of both of them. The film is more emotion based rather than fact
based, in an attempt to appeal to the audiences symphonies rather than instruct them on a historical
event. It has been criticized for its accuracy, specifically pertaining to the ages of the boys. Many
critics claim that boys as young as Schmuel would never have been at Auschwitz, because all children
too young to work were gassed upon arrival. Others argue that the film is symbol of innocence, and
the two boys reflect how children are able to look past each other s differences easier than adults.

Ludwig van Beethoven was born in Bonn, Germany 1770; the second half of the classical period.

Perhaps I shall get better, perhaps not; I am ready.
1819 is the year in which his hearing was thoroughly depleted. He could no longer play the piano
virtuously and had to communicate by text. As a result, he spent a majority of his time composing.
Beethoven would sketch out his compositions in a book. These books have been maintained and it is
evident that he would work on several pieces at once. During this time, his compositions ranged from
simple melodies to more elaborate and edited works. In 1804 Beethoven completed his Third
Symphony. This piece was originally a tribute to Napoleon Bonaparte, but when Beethoven found that
Napoleon was proclaimed an emperor he deleted the dedication. At this point in his life, Beethoven
seriously considered marriage. His first love was for a woman named Giulietta Guicciardi. When this
relationship eventually broke, he sought the hand of Giulietta s cousin, Josephine. The bond between
them broke and the engagement was ended. Beethoven s final attempt with a woman was with his
doctor s daughter, Therese Malfatti. As is expected, this relationship also failed and Beethoven
reached the final part of his life as a bachelor. The rate and quality of his compositions slowed and he
became more and more isolated. Another depressing and negative event in Beethoven s life took place
in 1815. His brother died. Caspar Anton Carl left behind a son and a widow and instructed

Although these were man made materials, the flatness of the project allowed it to the blend into the

for the evocative landscape of British Columbia...the building cannot be removed from its setting and
studied as a separate entity (Erickson 14). His desire for integration into the site is seen in many of his
future projects as well.
There were many echos in the lifespan of the Simon Fraser University that reflect the career of
Erickson. While the design was initially successful, his inadequacies in knowledge on the means of
construction as well as circumstantial understanding of the experience of the users of the space led to
many complaints and lawsuits for his office. This is exacerbated by the fact that the contract for the
design and construction of the campus was given to four other firms, with Erickson and Massey being
the chief designers and coordinators. While the quadrangle and covered mall were direct
representations of the concept, the secondary spaces fell short in comparison. Many students and
professor described the building as in wet weather...the grey concrete has a depressing effect, and the
mall becomes a wind tunnel when it s gusty (Iglauer 67). While Erickson did attempt to remedy some
of these issue in the expansions, many of them remain today.

The Survey Method Of Choice For A Researcher
There are many situations that make conducting an interview the survey method of choice for a
researcher. The interview can be completed face to face, either individually or as part of a focus group,
or it can be completed by telephone. All of these methods allow a richer opportunity to gather
information in a more open ended fashion, allowing the interviewer to take note of body language,
tone of voice, and other aesthetic aspects of the participant. Salant and Dillman (1994) recommend
face to face interview surveys when respondents are unlikely to respond willingly or accurately in
writing, when the questionnaire is complex, and when projects are well funded and include
professional, experienced interviewers. Face to face interviews are generally preferred over telephone
interviews, since body language and other nuances can be more closely monitored. Ng and Coakes
(2014) point out that not all the data collected will be numerical, and contextual and textual data can
also be analyzed. Brace (2004) also makes note that being in the same room allows the interviewer to
use prompt cards and other visuals that would be inhibited over the phone. Focus groups, on the other
hand, allow the advantage of a face to face meeting while making good use of time and cost by having

Summary Of Secretary Chant By Marge The Church Janitor...
In Secretary Chant by Marge Piercy and Jorge the Church Janitor Finally Quits by Martín Espada, the
speakers feel discontent with their jobs. In Secretary Chant the voice of a monotonous secretary
describes how she has become more like a machine than a person, reduced to merely a set of objects
and basic tasks. The speaker experiences a similar lack of appreciation in Jorge the Church Janitor
Finally Quits. Finding that people only pay him attention when they need something, he believes
others overlook him so much that no one would notice if he left. In both of the poems, the speakers
feel dehumanized by their jobs where they remain unappreciated for the robotic tasks they must
perform. The speakers share a sense of dehumanization as a result of the menial nature of their work.
As a secretary, the speaker in Secretary Chant must complete a variety of simple tasks for others.
Consequently, the speaker feels robotic, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Secretary Chant, the speaker loses her sense of self worth, recollecting, I wonce / was / a woman
(23 25). She figuratively loses her womanhood as a result of her objectification in her job. By
representing only the set of tasks she performs, the speaker s job reduces her to an office appliance
like a printer. While others use her, they do not value her personality. Likewise, the speaker in Jorge
the Church Janitor Finally Quits lacks a sense of recognition. For instance, he sardonically quips that
after he quits, Maybe the mop / will push on without me . . . They will call it Jorge (21 22, 24).
Feeling disregarded, he believes no one would notice his disappearance so long as the mop continued
moving. They would call the mop Jorge because, to them, the speaker is merely an object. Clearly,
both poems speakers are unhappy with the lack of appreciation or even acknowledgement they receive

Choose Two Parties In This Year s General Election In New...
1. Choose two parties that are standing candidates in this year s general election in New Zealand.
Describe the policies on the environment that these parties are taking to the election. The Green and
Labour are two of the 16 registered parties for the 2017 election in New Zealand. Each party is
promoting its own set of policies to address environmental issues in the country, focusing on water
quality and its ownership, air quality, conservation of natural resources and wildlife; and prevention of
climate change. Both parties see the necessity of clean drinking water and swimmable freshwater to
the life of the people of New Zealand, emphasizing that the country s waters are owned by everyone.

whales and dolphins; the Labour on the other hand will support the development of the Kermadec
Ocean Sanctuary not just to preserve marine life in the area, but also to defend the Treaty rights of the
iwi (Green, 2017 and Labour, 2017). In addition, the Labour is looking into controlling mining
activities, making sure that the said activities are aligned with the laws on public conservation land
(Labour, 2017). The Green further envisions a zero waste New Zealand by 2050 through the conduct
of beach clean ups, initiating refunds for drinking containers, and prohibiting the use of plastic bags
and other unnecessary plastic packaging (Green, 2017). Taking part in the global mission to combat
climate change, the Green and Labour have formulated policies that target for a zero greenhouse gas
emission by 2050, promote afforestation, and invest in environment friendly mode of transportation
and renewable sources of electricity. The Green would implement a Zero Carbon Act which will be

The Pros And Cons Of Inequality
Equality and justice are core values in modern democracies. Yet, we curiously accept massive levels
of inequality. In fact, there are numerous reasons why countries accept or even promote economic
inequality. In this paper, I will argue that everyone has a right to benefit from their own labour. And, it
follows from this right that governments should act against inequality only to raise the neediest above
a level of subsistence.
In Canada, the richest 20% own over 70% of total wealth while the bottom 20% own less than 1%.
This has important implications according to many experts, including epidemiologist Richard
Wilkinson. His research reveals a strong connection between inequality and social problems such as
mental illness, drug addiction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This argument has two sides to it. Firstly, that inequality causes major social problems. But correlation
does not always imply causation. The best performing countries on Wilkinson s index of health and
social problems, while relatively equal, all are measured as the happiest countries in the world with
strong community spirit. Inequality and social problems are likely to be symptoms rather than causes
of countries lacking this cooperative attitude. The second side to the argument is that inequality is
itself unjust. However, few philosophers would claim justice or fairness relates only to equality. There
must also be an element of need or merit. Some people are simply more deserving. Ability or
willingness to work hard contributes to this merit. Additionally, not everyone requires the same
resources to achieve the same standard of living. For instance, housing and transportation is likely
costlier for someone living in Toronto compared to suburban Ontario. In this sense, justice may not
only tolerate, but require

Author Jon Bohman Too much of our society is separated from others. We often isolate ourselves from
the lives of those around us. With each little bit of isolation we become a little more dehumanized
each day. Instead of walking around to places we find ourselves using cars to travel, each day
removing ourselves more and more from greeting and contacting new people. We have furthered this
isolation through working in cubicles, and automation through computers and factories. Tv creates
another scenario where we watch fake realities instead of being around other people. Even in a movie
theatre we are isolated because we stare at the big screen instead of holding a true conversation with
someone else. I have nothing against these inventions, the trouble is that they can lead one to focus
more on themselves and less on their fellow man. Selfishness creeps in and pushes aside the desire to
give to others. Instead of improving and uplifting humanity we are working backwards. Now, not
everyone is this way, however if we aren t mindful of our own intentions and actions you may

The At The Rhode Island Parent Information Network
On June 11, 2016, I attended an event at the Rhode Island Parent Information Network (RIPIN) Center
in Cranston, RI. The RIPIN Center helps families and children get the help they need to achieve health
and education goals. There are different sessions that go on within the month for different needs; every
second Saturday is the meeting specially geared to Deaf children and families. The meeting was held
by Elsbeth, who is a mother of a child who is hard of hearing. This session in particular involved
transitioning into college. A young boy had lost his hearing with age and he is going into his senior
year of high school. He stated to the group that he was looking into colleges and his mom, who was
also present, was afraid about his academic success. This student chooses to use hearing aids and lip
reading as a method of understanding what hearing individuals are saying. His mom stated when
teachers do not follow with his 504 plan, he ends up doing poorly in the class; otherwise he is an
academically high achieving student. Both he and his mom have high hopes, he wants to attend Brown
for a science major. He instantly became sad when mentioning that Umass is more proabable due to
his hearing loss. He seemed to be timid about asking for help or enforcing his 504 plan with teachers.
The student stated that it is a hassle for the teacher and he would rather manage with what he can. A
few of us were curious about how he hears since he kept alluding to only hearing half of

My World Issues Class Analysis
Throughout the course of my World Issues class, numerous themes and concepts were explored
spanning across entire time periods and geographical locations. The first exercise completed in class
was a visual representation of the connections between all themes categorized under the umbrella
term: world issues. This included diversity, economic disparity, environmental issues, global health,
nutrition/food security, accessibility, human rights, peace/war, media, education, and identity. Each of
us found connection between every one of these themes; they are simultaneously independent and
interconnected a change in any sector can affect all of the others. One major connection I found in the
course was the concept of citizens clinging to social status quo and the resulting political/interpersonal
violence due to that close minded rejection of difference. For example, violent acts by Buddhist
monks in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many of these issues can be boiled down go a couple major themes that of power politics, identity
politics, religious differences, and how all of these themes are affected through the lense of the media.
One key example we talked about was the relationship between Buddhists from Thailand. The deeply
rooted history of Buddhism in Thailand can be linked with the political struggles between that of
communism and capitalism. Certain Buddhist monks like Phra Kittiwut Tho argue that the murder of
communists would not violate any of the nonviolent ideologies of Buddhism. This has an interesting
link with the historical perception of Christianity in the 1100 s around the first crusade when The Pope
argued that war and killing were acceptable under theological terms if it was against non christian
people. The conflict in Thailand demonstrates to me that, even though religion and politics might be
somewhat separated, there is an inherent link when pushed hard

Are Tattoos Appropriate In The Workplace Essay
Are Tattoos Appropriate In the Workplace?
Is body art a workplace delivery? Does having a visible tattoo trial anything approximately an
individual that is applicable to his or her job?
Many employers have policies that do not allow macroscopic tattoos.
This example is as like as not a simple one. For model, the strife is that a four star hotel may not want
the concierge to have diffusive tattoos of skulls and crossbones on the back of each hand. Depending
on the employer s assiduity and the type of job, this may make appreciation. Companies either sustain
no rule of thumb at all or establish such rigid policies that they almost appear to be perfected caper.
Most corporations and diminutive businesses have no formal policies toward tattoos or piercings.
Today, mark has cheap wider friendly embracement and more and more men and females equally,
have them. Depending on what and where the tattoo is, there may or may not be an issue for
employers.
For the ended few decades, it handsome that coffeehouse baristas and graphic designers would be

Who Is Brutus A Betrayer In Julius Caesar
Julius Caesar is a story about doing what you believe is right, and sometimes the line between right
and wrong can be blurry. In the play, Brutus other Romans conspire to kill the man who may become
their new leader, Caesar. Patriots are typically looked at as being trustworthy, and Brutus murdered
Caesar, someone who viewed him as a friend. Looking at the situation in a vacuum can make it look
like Brutus is a betrayer because of that fact. However, many people incorrectly think of Brutus as
being a villain when he was not a betrayer or traitor, Brutus was a patriot to the city of Rome. One
thing that people may argue makes Brutus a betrayer is the fact that he killed Caesar, his friend, which
is not a very loyal act. Looking solely at Brutus killing Caesar would indeed make him appear to be a
betrayer. However, Brutus s last words are, Now Caesar, be still. I didn t kill you with half so good a
will (Julius 5.5.57). This statement means that he did truly did not want to kill Caesar. Brutus was led
to believe, by Cassius, that Caesar had to die in order for Rome to be free from tyranny. Ultimately
though, Brutus ended up wanting to kill himself more than he wanted to kill Caesar. Another aspect of

about the wellbeing of Rome s people. Brutus believed that action had to be taken in order for Rome
to be great, which is evident when he says: On such a full sea are we now afloat, and we must take the
current when it serves or lose our ventures (Julius 4.3.228 230). His loyalty was to the country came

Essay about Analysis of Initiatives of Healthcare Reform
Over the last 5 10 years the healthcare system has begun reformation to increase safety, efficiency,
cost reduction, increasing continuum of care, and increases in information technology (IT). There are
many influences that are creating this need for change including laws, regulations, and the consumers
of the healthcare system. The consumer is beginning to take charge of their health and become an
advocate of their healthcare needs and plans of action. This transformation has created a greater need
for the healthcare system to increase the use of health management information system (HMIS).

Challenges Associated with each Initiative Even the most well planned out strategy will have
challenges that are associated with them. This statement is true for each initiative occurring in the
healthcare system. One of the problems faced when changing a system or adding to a system is
resistance by the end users. This resistance can come from any level, including the leadership. This
creates a need to make the leadership understand the reasons for the change and allow them to become
a part of the change, allowing them to buy in. This buy in from leadership will help the employees to
understand the reasons for the change. This will help to reduce resistance, but not completely get rid
of it. This challenge will be seen by each of these initiatives; however, each of the initiatives will
come with their own challenges. One way to overcome the challenge of resistance is to get the buy in
from the leadership positions. First, the organization must have a Chief Information Officer (CIO) that
has built up three important traits trustworthiness, effective communication, and be inspirational (Tan
Payton, 2010). With these traits the CIO can allow the leadership team to understand the change, know
why they are occurring, and finally feel like they are part of the solution. This creates a buy in of the

Management Practices And Functions Of Management
Management Practices
Management has played a crucial role in how organizations have operated for over a century. It has
been the foundation of organizations in the structuring of their companies and has determined their
level of success. Without management, organizations would struggle with defining a purpose for
themselves. They would lack in goals to achieve and overall improvement. Since the implementation
of management, theories of management have come and gone. New ideas have emerged and thoughts
have shifted as the world continues to grow and change. However, the concept of management and its
key elements have remained the same. These elements consist of what is known as the five functions
of management and include planning, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

This allows us guidelines to follow in order to pursue our vision. The implementation of squadron

King Lear and Death of a Salesman Essay

differ by almost four hundred years perceive society and the effect this has on the protagonists;
Shakespeare s King Lear which was first performed in 1606 during the Jacobean era, presents a
patriarchal society. Whilst, Arthur Miller uses the characters in Death of a salesman to show the failure
of the American dream during the golden era of America in the late 40 s. The American Dream was a
set of ideals which suggested that anyone in the US could be successful through hard work, and had
the potential to live a happy life. The sense of the deterioration in the equality of opportunities links to

(Kyriazis and Swayne) Salix required supplementary funds in 1996 to endure its testing activities,
requiring the team to go public on the Toronto Stock exchange allowing them to raise $10 million.
During the same time period, Salix acknowledged a second compound, rifaximin, and licensed its
privileges from an Italian company, Alfa Wassermann. Then not too far off, balsalazide disodium was
approved in Europe; and Astra began endorsing it in Europe under the brand name COLAZIDE.
Interestingly enough, there were some influences in the external environment that would affect the
relationship with Astra. Much like other industries in 1990s and early 2000s, the pharmaceutical
industry responded to the challenges of globalization and smaller companies merged to form large
conglomerates to create worldwide strength. (Kyriazis and Swayne) Astra merged with Zeneca,
increasing the international exposure of the new merger as the seventh largest pharmaceutical
company in the world. In such a situation, AstraZeneca had Colazide low on their list of priorities and
attempted to return the licensing to Salix. This would require some adjustments and avoidance of legal
implications on the part of AstraZeneca, which led to their payment of Salix s full contract and lending
for acquisition of another partner. This opportunity led to several dealings that would result in Shire
Pharmaceuticals purchasing the rights to Europe and Salix to

Disadvantages of online banking include the amount of time it takes to create and authorize your

provide authentic identification. I must say I disagree with the article calling this a disadvantage. It is
certainly not convenient, but I would not call it a disadvantage. The learning curve is listed as a
disadvantage. Online banking sites can be very difficult to navigate, especially for new users.
Finally, and probably the most obvious, is the issue of trust you have in your online banking facility.
How secure is the transmission of my private information? How can I be sure the transaction went
through? Who else will have access to my information? This trust issue and skepticism of security is
by far the biggest concern of potential online banking consumers. The Ponemon Institute is dedicated

The Victorians Concern With Morality
The Victorians Concern with Morality It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age
of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity...
(Charles Dickens). This quote helps to sum up the Victorian Era. The Victorian Era is understood to
have existed during the rule of Queen Victoria between 1837 to 1901. It was thought to be an exciting
period that saw various literary schools and artistic styles along with social and political movements.
The period was also described to have led to swift developments and changes from advances in
scientific, technological, and medical knowledge. It was reckoned as an era of prosperity and political
reform. However, in the modern world, the era has been perceived to have been filled with numerous
contradictions. Writers such as Alfred Tennyson, Robert Browning, and Oscar Wilde all help to
advance this conclusion. It was also evident due to the existence of social movements that were
concerned with promoting public morals after a class system that enforced harsh living conditions
were in place. Restraint and dignity coexisted with child labor and prostitution with this
transformation in the Victoria Era. The Victorian Age began with great optimism and confidence
which resulted in an economic boom besides growing prosperity, hence, the prosperity led to doubt
and uncertainty concerning Britain s position in the globe (Atlick Richard). This essay will focus on

  • 2. Consumer Perception Of Consumer Behavior Essay Consumer Perception Consumer behaviours are constructed by their attitudes, and the attitude itself is the result of the consumers perception (Fishbein Ajzen, 1975). This construct is explored in the Theory of Reasoned Action, where Fishbein and Ajzen (1975) state this in regards to attitude behaviour relationships. When it comes to greenwashing, research has found that this attitude behaviour relationship could manipulate the perception of the consumer. The consumer perceptions when it comes to companies can be explained by: perceived deception, which is caused by an organization which misleadingly advertises its product as being green (Newell et al., 1998); perceived scepticism, from consumers regarding an environmental claim which could then decrease any possible positive impact on consumer behaviour (Albayrak et al., 2011), and; perceived inconsistency, which is caused by a company s inconsistency in relation to advertising claims about being green versus their actual behaviour (Gallicano, 2011). Consumer perceptions towards products can be explained using the concepts of: perceived distrust, which is an unwillingness to have confidence in a product, this can stem from an expectation resulting from a lack of credibility and/or environmental performance (Chen Chang, 2013); perceived risk, which is connected to possible consequences of a wrong decision (Peter Ryan, 1976), and; perceived confusion, which arises as a result of consumers failing to acquire accurate ... However, the consequences can lead to wrongful ethical and moral actions. Considering the allegorical tale, Lord of the Flies by William Golding, one must consider the island being a representation of the human mind itself. The only structure and object that a human can retain whilst dismissing all else is the presence of their own thoughts, their own reality. Shaped by external stimuli, all humans have the innate traits demonstrated in novel s characters. From Simon s innate value of morality, through Ralph s impulse for democracy, and including Jack s incentive towards savagery, these natural born instincts ... Indubitably, Jack is a representation of the overpowering impulse for bloodlust, power, and savagery. His craving for meat directly led to his atavistic primal tendencies, signified by his barbarism and splintering of the original tribe. These unprecedentedly large ships were built in Belfast, Ireland, in the shipyard of Harold and Wolff for the White Star Line company. The Titanic and her sister ships were built 269.1 meters long, 28.2 meters wide, 53 meters from the keel to the top of the funnels, and weighing in at a whopping 46,000 tons (Felkins, Leighly Jr., Jankovic, 1998). On April 2, 1912, The Titanic finally sets sail to Southampton, England, where it was to start its maiden voyage to New York. Finally, on April 12, 1912, Titanic commenced its infamous voyage. Just four days into the journey, tragedy had struck. Despite receiving multiple warnings of dangerous ice sections and icebergs throughout the day, the Titanic continues on its course through the frigid Atlantic waters without diversion. • 5. Importance Of Parliamentary Sovereignty To answer the question as to whether parliamentary sovereignty promotes good government and strong democratic and constitutional values, this essay shall firstly define what is meant by the term parliamentary sovereignty. Secondly, it will analyse what good government and democracy is said to be in society today and if that corresponds to the role of parliamentary sovereignty in the United Kingdom. This essay will also significantly look at namely the rule of law and the separation of powers within the United Kingdom and if it in some way it generates democracy. Finally with reference to various sources of law, the essay will describe the level as to which parliamentary sovereignty has changed and shaped actions in the United Kingdom s government in response to the Miller Case. Parliamentary sovereignty or parliamentary supremacy is a notion in constitutional law. Dicey depicted parliamentary sovereignty as the right to make or unmake any law whatever; and further, that no person or body is recognised by the law of England as having a right to override or set aside the legislation of Parliament. Three aspects are present in this definition of parliamentary sovereignty; the first is that Parliament can make or unmake any laws. The second principle is that Parliament cannot be bound by its predecessors nor does it have the legal right to bind its successors. An example of this is the case of Ellen Streets Estates Ltd. v Minister for Health [1934] in which the courts held ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Pharmacology And Migraine Research Migraine and Evidence based pharmacology Introduction In the current medical practices, there are several treatment options. The pharmaceutical industry produces so many drugs that perform similar functions (Chaitow Schoenen, 2013). However, the pharmacokinetics of the drugs are quite different. Moreover, all the drugs in the market have different side effects and toxicity profiles. The same drug tends to behave differently in different people. Therefore, doctors are faced with hardships when choosing the best treatment option to adopt in particular patients. It is for this reason that evidence based practice(EBP) was introduced. Migraine headaches are often experienced on one side of the head (Tepper, 2004). The pain is associated with the pulsatile sensation that differs from one person to another. Migraine is also characterized by throbbing and pounding headache that can lead to nausea, vomiting, and in some instances photophobia. Presently, about 12 % of Americans experience migraine headaches every day. Research shows that migraine mostly affect people aged 15 to 55 years (Tepper, 2004). Migraine has been said to occur as a result of impaired nervous and circulatory system. In migraine, blood vessels undergo vasodilation. The enlargement of the vessels interferes with the nerve cells that normally surround the vessels making them secrete various chemical mediators. These chemicals include prostaglandins, substance P, interleukins, and cytokines (Schulman, 2010). The chemicals are responsible for inflammation and transmission of pain impulses. The associated feelings of nausea and vomiting are attributed to the activation of the sympathetic nervous system. The sympathetic response also leads to slowed motility and gastric emptying that in turn reduces absorptions of gastric contents such as nutrients and drugs. Additionally, the sympathetic system also leads to excessive sound and light sensitivity. Statistics reveals that migraines affect more women than men. The severity of migraine headaches ranges from mild, moderate to severe depending on the individuals affected. In some instances, migraine headache can be a major cause of morbidity due to its debilitating ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Cancers developing from the ducts are known as ductal carcinomas, while those developing from lobules are known as lobular carcinomas. In addition, there are more than 18 other sub types of breast cancer. Some cancers develop from pre invasive lesions such as ductal carcinoma in situ. The diagnosis of breast cancer is confirmed by taking a biopsy of the concerning lump. Once the diagnosis is made, further tests are done to determine if the cancer has spread beyond the breast and which treatments it may respond to. 1:1 Personal context Breast cancer is the most frequent form of malignancy in women. Neither boy grasps that Schmuel is in a death camp, and when Schmuel confesses to Bruno that he is Jewish, Bruno doesn t not seem to understand why that matters. Curious as to what really lies on the other side of the fence, Bruno and Schmuel plot for him to sneak into the camp, which leads to the demise of both of them. The film is more emotion based rather than fact based, in an attempt to appeal to the audiences symphonies rather than instruct them on a historical event. It has been criticized for its accuracy, specifically pertaining to the ages of the boys. Many critics claim that boys as young as Schmuel would never have been at Auschwitz, because all children too young to work were gassed upon arrival. Others argue that the film is symbol of innocence, and the two boys reflect how children are able to look past each other s differences easier than adults. Critics also ... • 19. Beethoven and Tchaikovsky Beethoven and Tchaikovsky While Ludwig van Beethoven and Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky have much in common, they also have many differences. Both men are famous for their orchestral compositions and their future influence on other composers. They experienced a blend of horrible failures and great successes. Although they were from different musical time periods, they both made huge contributions to the world of music. Ludwig van Beethoven was born in Bonn, Germany 1770; the second half of the classical period. As a result, he spent a majority of his time composing. Beethoven would sketch out his compositions in a book. These books have been maintained and it is evident that he would work on several pieces at once. During this time, his compositions ranged from simple melodies to more elaborate and edited works. In 1804 Beethoven completed his Third Symphony. This piece was originally a tribute to Napoleon Bonaparte, but when Beethoven found that Napoleon was proclaimed an emperor he deleted the dedication. At this point in his life, Beethoven seriously considered marriage. His first love was for a woman named Giulietta Guicciardi. When this relationship eventually broke, he sought the hand of Giulietta s cousin, Josephine. The bond between them broke and the engagement was ended. Beethoven s final attempt with a woman was with his doctor s daughter, Therese Malfatti. As is expected, this relationship also failed and Beethoven reached the final part of his life as a bachelor. His desire for integration into the site is seen in many of his future projects as well. There were many echos in the lifespan of the Simon Fraser University that reflect the career of Erickson. While the design was initially successful, his inadequacies in knowledge on the means of construction as well as circumstantial understanding of the experience of the users of the space led to many complaints and lawsuits for his office. This is exacerbated by the fact that the contract for the design and construction of the campus was given to four other firms, with Erickson and Massey being the chief designers and coordinators. While the quadrangle and covered mall were direct representations of the concept, the secondary spaces fell short in comparison. Many students and professor described the building as in wet weather...the grey concrete has a depressing effect, and the mall becomes a wind tunnel when it s gusty (Iglauer 67). • 21. The Survey Method Of Choice For A Researcher There are many situations that make conducting an interview the survey method of choice for a researcher. The interview can be completed face to face, either individually or as part of a focus group, or it can be completed by telephone. All of these methods allow a richer opportunity to gather information in a more open ended fashion, allowing the interviewer to take note of body language, tone of voice, and other aesthetic aspects of the participant. Salant and Dillman (1994) recommend face to face interview surveys when respondents are unlikely to respond willingly or accurately in writing, when the questionnaire is complex, and when projects are well funded and include professional, experienced interviewers. Face to face interviews are generally preferred over telephone interviews, since body language and other nuances can be more closely monitored. Ng and Coakes (2014) point out that not all the data collected will be numerical, and contextual and textual data can also be analyzed. Brace (2004) also makes note that being in the same room allows the interviewer to use prompt cards and other visuals that would be inhibited over the phone. Focus groups, on the other hand, allow the advantage of a face to face meeting while making good use of time and cost by having several people in the room together. • 25. The Pros And Cons Of Inequality Equality and justice are core values in modern democracies. Yet, we curiously accept massive levels of inequality. In fact, there are numerous reasons why countries accept or even promote economic inequality. In this paper, I will argue that everyone has a right to benefit from their own labour. And, it follows from this right that governments should act against inequality only to raise the neediest above a level of subsistence. In Canada, the richest 20% own over 70% of total wealth while the bottom 20% own less than 1%. This has important implications according to many experts, including epidemiologist Richard Wilkinson. His research reveals a strong connection between inequality and social problems such as mental illness, drug addiction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This argument has two sides to it. Firstly, that inequality causes major social problems. But correlation does not always imply causation. The best performing countries on Wilkinson s index of health and social problems, while relatively equal, all are measured as the happiest countries in the world with strong community spirit. Inequality and social problems are likely to be symptoms rather than causes of countries lacking this cooperative attitude. The second side to the argument is that inequality is itself unjust. However, few philosophers would claim justice or fairness relates only to equality. There must also be an element of need or merit. Some people are simply more deserving. Ability or willingness to work hard contributes to this merit. Additionally, not everyone requires the same resources to achieve the same standard of living. For instance, housing and transportation is likely costlier for someone living in Toronto compared to suburban Ontario. In this sense, justice may not only tolerate, but require ... We often isolate ourselves from the lives of those around us. With each little bit of isolation we become a little more dehumanized each day. Instead of walking around to places we find ourselves using cars to travel, each day removing ourselves more and more from greeting and contacting new people. We have furthered this isolation through working in cubicles, and automation through computers and factories. Tv creates another scenario where we watch fake realities instead of being around other people. Even in a movie theatre we are isolated because we stare at the big screen instead of holding a true conversation with someone else. I have nothing against these inventions, the trouble is that they can lead one to focus more on themselves and less on their fellow man. Selfishness creeps in and pushes aside the desire to give to others. Instead of improving and uplifting humanity we are working backwards. It was thought to be an exciting period that saw various literary schools and artistic styles along with social and political movements. The period was also described to have led to swift developments and changes from advances in scientific, technological, and medical knowledge. It was reckoned as an era of prosperity and political reform. However, in the modern world, the era has been perceived to have been filled with numerous contradictions. Restraint and dignity coexisted with child labor and prostitution with this transformation in the Victoria Era.
