COVID-19, caused by the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, primarily spreads through person-to-person contact and can cause respiratory infections ranging from mild to severe. As of late November 2021, over 260 million global cases and 5 million deaths have been reported, with symptoms including fever, cough, and difficulty breathing, among others. Vaccination, alongside public health measures such as mask-wearing and social distancing, is vital for prevention and controlling the spread of the virus.
