This document defines and describes various camera shot types used in filmmaking, including extreme close-up, close-up, medium close-up, medium shot, wide shot, establishing shot, two shot, shot reverse shot, high angle shot, low angle shot, over the shoulder shot, and point of view shot. Each shot type is used to convey different information about characters, settings, emotions, conversations, and perspectives.

1. Extreme Close up
• Used in order to draw specific attention to one
thing

2. Close Up
• Used to show emotion on the characters face
or show a specific item in detail

3. Medium Close Up
• Used to show the face clearer and slight body
language from the shoulders upwards to give
more information on what the character is
doing

4. Medium Shot
• Used to show the body language of a
character

5. Wide Shot
• Used to show characters as well as the
scenery behind them to show what’s going on
around them

6. Establishing Shot
• To show the full landscape of the setting of
the film

7. Two Shot
• To show two characters having a conversation

8. Shot Reverse Shot
• Shows clearly a conversation between two
characters and who is talking at which time

9. High Angle Shot
• To show weakness of a character as the
audience is looking down on them

10. Low Angle Shot
• Looks upwards at a something significant e.g a
character or building to impose power and
intimidation

11. Over the Shoulder
• Used to make the audience feel as if they are
there

12. Point of View
• Used to show the plot from a characters point
of view, involves the audience
