ESTABLISHING SHOT
• Used as the opening shot of a scene , to introduce audience to the place the
episode will take place.
LONG SHOT
• This shows the whole scene to establish what’s happening.
MID-SHOT
• This shows a person from the waist up.
CLOSE UP SHOT
• This shows a persons face and facial features or a significant object.
EXTREME LONG SHOT
• An extreme long shot shows a larger area, possibly to establish another
area of importance within a film etc.
POV (POINT OF VIEW) SHOT
• A POV is when a shot is done to look as if you are seeing through a
characters eyes.
OVER THE SHOULDER
• This is a shot which is usually used within conversation to look over
another characters shoulder to the one talking.
REVERSE SHOT
• This is when the camera moves within a conversation to show the two
characters talking.
HIGH ANGLE
• This is a shot taken from above a character, to make the character seem
smaller or weaker compared to something else.
LOW ANGLE
• This is used to make a character seem greater or stronger than
something else.
BIRDS EYE
• This is when you are directly looking down on a scene.
WORMS EYE
• Is when you are looking directly up on a shot.
TWO SHOT
• Is a shot used that shows two characters and usually the importance of
those characters depends on where they stand.
