Write An Essay On The Boston Massacre
There was an incident on kings street caused by the British on March 5, 1770, also known as The
Boston massacre. It is said that the British army killed five male citizens and injured many others.
This began when a mob of people formed around a British sentry, who claimed to have been harassed.
When British solder got involved they immediately took his side and fired into the crowed without
any higher authority approval.
This all began when Britain approved levies on its American settlements to help pay the upholding of
their Northern territory. The people thought it was a defilement of their human rights. Loyalist leader,
John Hancock supported the anti British and encouraged the development of the Sons of Liberty. The

Electric Leaf Blowers

division. These leaf blasters work by connecting to an additional string and an outlet.
They radiate no emanations making them ecologically inviting. Lighter than their gas cousins, the

Us And Mexico Border
On August 13, 1998, a group of seven individuals were found huddled together about twenty five
miles away from the U.S. Mexico border. However, these people were no longer suffering. They were
found dead, after failing to cross into California illegally. Among them was Julio César Gallegos, a
husband and father, whose story, like many others, has largely attributed to U.S. law enforcement
policies along the border. Many policies have been made about the U.S. Mexico border due to the
death of migrants, like Gallegos. These laws have affected many individuals and are still in use today.
Julio César Gallegos grew up in the town of Juchipila, Mexico, a transnational area that sits firmly in
Mexico and exceeds the U.S. Mexico border, where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1998, Julio César Gallegos tried to cross again. This time he and several others would not be so
lucky. The group was waiting to be picked up by a vehicle that never came. The extreme heat killed
them in a matter of weeks, and were soon found. Groups like Gallegos risk their lives each day to
enter the United States without authorization from Mexico. This helps explain why the boundary
simultaneously serves as both an obstacle and a gateway functions that are both contradictory and
complimentary (78). The border is a gateway that allows individuals to travel between both countries
with legal documentation. On the other hand, the boundary is an obstacle because it is a danger to the
people who try to cross illegally. That is why U.S. law enforcement policies have been put in place.
These policies have changed the way people travel to and from Mexico and the United States. By
strengthening the enforcement efforts along the border, law enforcement has made it safer for all
migrants who are looking to enter the U.S. legally. The effect of U.S. immigration enforcement is not
so much to stop migration, but to define the status of people as subordinate once they have arrived
(111). Many people were blocked from entering the country, such as imbeciles, homosexuals, and
contract laborers. Although, it has been the nonwhite, poor, minorities that have been, and still are, the

The Stories Of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is a 19th century author who is known by his stories of Sherlock Holmes.
Sherlock Holmes is a crime series based in the Victorian era when feminists in this period were calling
for women and children to have equal protection under the law (Miller 55). He is consider one of most
known iconic British characters created who solves mysteries with visual detection. One thing is clear
author Conan Doyle portrays women as a weakness in Holmes s visual approach, his extraordinary
powers (Doyle 240) on crime cases, female criminals either get the last laugh or outwit him. As years
went by many adaptations brought the adventures to life with their own twists and turns on their take
on the story plot especially when it comes to criminality and femininity (Miller 30). Such as the BBC
television show version of Sherlock of its version of The Abominable Bride or even CBS Elementary
of its version of Irene Adler and Moriarty in The Woman episode, the question lays are the views truly
different or any better when it comes to representing female criminals or women in general. Female
criminals comes into play in many of Conan Doyle s Sherlock series and they somehow women is
able to deceive him. It comes to our understanding in the book series Holmes doesn t judge women by
her outward appearance because he believes one should look at the matter clearly and fairly (Doyle
913). That it is more than beautification, gender and sexuality, to Holmes and it

Church s Opposition To Capital Punishment In The Roman...
Capital punishment: the legally authorized killing of someone as punishment for crime. In the United
States, there is a distinct line between matters of Church and State; capital punishment falls under the
territory of the State. But, in 1974, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, the USCCB,
made the decision to publically announce the Roman Catholic Church s opposition to capital
punishment after a former president of the USCCB called the issue of capital punishment not only a
profound legal and political question but also an important moral and religious issue. But, even this
sagacious group of Church officials had a difficult time pin pointing the Church s exact reasoning for
their defensive against capital punishment. Throughout the article, the bishops try to make sense of
many twisting questions, including: in the eyes of the Church, what circumstances, if any, make
capital punishment acceptable? Although the 1980 article was released by the USCCB in attempts to
help the people of the Church understand this contradictory issue, it fell short due to the fact that even
the accredited statements run in circles.
According to Part I, Purposes of Punishment , the Catholic Church is not and will never be completely
sure if the state has the right to end the life of a person guilty for a heinous crime. While ending the
villain s life protects the citizens from danger, it violates the Roman Catholic Church s belief that all
life has value. Bishops urged

If the dividends are higher this can boost the confidence of others to buy more stocks as there are good

8th Grade Algebra

difficult and confusing, but it does eventually make sense. It is my job to prepare you for the coming
year and to make sure that everything goes smoothly. So let s get to that. The first things you should

They are a valuable recourse when you just don t understand something, however even though just
getting the answers from them sounds like a good idea, it really doesn t give you the information that
you need to help you in the long run. Second: Professor Burger is going to be your best friend.

This is my personal favorite chapter. You can factor polynomials in a few different ways: by GCF,
through the form X2+BX+C, through the form AX2+ BX+C, and by graphing. There is a way that
Mrs. Ladner teaches to factor called Big X Bottoms Up that uses either the X2+BX+C or
AX2+BX+C. To do this method of factoring you first need to draw an X. Then, after that, you
multiply A and C (if there is no A it means that A=1), and put it in the top of the X. Put B in the
underside of the X. Factor AC until you find the pair that equals B when either added or subtracted to
or from each other. Divide these by A and put them in the proper

do the right thing, people are generous towards each other, even during bad times. People take care of
each other and help each other when they need it. When things are bad, people try to have an
optimistic attitude. People are generous towards each other, even during bad times. Peter said He can

positive and try to be optimistic. Mr Frank: It seems strange to say this, as if anyone could be happy in
a concentration camp. But Anne was happy in the camp in Holland where they first took us. After two
years of being locked up . . . she could be out . . . in the fresh air she loved. pg. 77. Anne was seeing
the good in the really bad situation that she was in at the time. This shows how people are really good
at heart because she is trying to reassure herself and others that everything will work out and be ok in
the end. Anne: I think the world is going through a phase, the way I was with Mother. It ll pass, maybe

Adversity And Struggle In Billy Elliot
Billy Elliot Billy Elliot was a story of adversity and struggle. It follows a young boy who becomes a
great success at ballet after he starts attending dance classes instead of his boxing classes. The play
uses parallel storylines of the struggle for coal mine workers rights and Billy s struggle to become a
great dancer. It takes place in an impoverished town in the UK during the 80 s but it was performed in
2017 at the Berkeley playhouse. The play is impactful because it satires gender stereotypes and
advocates for the payoff of hard work. My favorite character was the ballet teacher. The actress made
great use of the stage and her props. I loved the way she swayed in her fur lined silk robe and how she
used her faux cigarette. It really conveyed the life story of the character and made her stand out. It
gives her an aura of strength but also a certain feeling of tragedy as if she had always wanted to
become a star. Her beat changes were very distinct throughout the play. Each line was ... Show more

Her first challenge comes when Billy himself does not want to do ballet because of his preconceived
ideas that only girls and gay boys do it. The teacher pursues her objective by being stern and
demanding. This gets Billy to take dancing seriously and she furthers her goal. However, trouble
comes when Billy s father finds out that he is not doing his boxing lessons. The teacher tackles this
with her stern tactics from before but intermixes an appeal of sympathy for Billy s talent.
Unfortunately, she is unsuccessful and has to result to being secretive in order for Billy s father not to
find out. The conflict between the two characters was very intense due to conflicting objectives and
strong tactics; it raised the stakes and grabbed the attention of the audience. This makes the viewer
root for Billy to succeed despite his

Towards A Phenomenology Of Dwelling Summary
In Towards a Phenomenology of Dwelling, Lisa Guenther puts forth thought on dwelling, and doing
so responsibly. She brings up the idea of a person s daimon, which I like to think of as a person s
conscious. It tells you the possible things that you can do, both good and bad, but ultimately, only you
can decide what you will do. The visual of an angel and the devil sitting upon either shoulder comes to
my mind. Others are more aware of your daimon than you are, and this is because there are parts of
yourself that you do not see. Whether this be physical, like your habits, tendencies, and body language
or not visible like your desires, most of the time, others are more aware of this than you are. Desires

Misfit Employees
INTRODUCTION Hiring the wrong employee can have a detrimental effect on any team. According
to McDonald (2013), Not only do bad hiring decisions drain an organization s budget, they also take a
toll on morale, productivity and time. Misfit recruits require significant attention, distracting both
managers and team members from focusing on business critical initiatives. For many years, company
recruiters and hiring managers had the same tools at their disposal to locate and evaluate job
applicants. Finding the right person for a job often was and still is a lengthy and costly process. The
payout for selecting the best candidate can be significant, and hiring the wrong person can be costly,
yet often mistakes are hard to avoid. The wrong

Life of a Pilot Many people travel on a plane each year, but have never wondered what the people
flying the plane have done to get to this level. Becoming a pilot requires difficult work, and takes
time, mostly in the early stages of flight school. A pilot must go to school for many years, on top of
the two years of college ( Education ), and must go through many different airlines. A pilot also must
stay away from their family whenever they are flying, as they may only fly 3 days a week, and not
consecutively. Piloting is an honored and respected profession that is used to take people around the

Once a pilot is forty hours into their instrument training, they will receive their instrument certification
( Interview with Reno ). The pilot is now able to fly in low visibility, furthermore, is allowed to work
for an airline.
With an instrument rating, a pilot can transport either good or people from Point A, to Point B
(Instrument Rating). The pilot can either remain a private pilot now, or has a choice to work for a
regional airline, who flies within the country. First, A pilot applies for interviews at many different
airlines of his choosing. The pilot is then interviewed, and is sent an offer by an airline. If the pilot
accepts the offer, he or she is then taken into their Airline Training Course , in which they learn the
basic rules of the airline and how they operate ( Interview with Reno ). The pilot then has one more
chance to decide whether they like the airline or not, if they like it, they will be accepted as a first
officer or co pilot. The pilot then gets to pick whether he wants to fly for the regional airline for the
rest of his/her career, or if he will move to work for the main airline. From this point forward, a pilot s
daily life will become very abnormal.
At the beginning of a Pilot s day, they will have to drive to the airport. At the airport, the pilot will go
to the briefing room, with his first officer, and plan the flight. The pilot will then board the plane and

Catholic Church Research Paper
The religion I decided to research is the Roman Catholic Church, because it is one that I ve always
wanted to familiarize myself with more because many of my friends are Catholics and I was raised in
a Christian family which I ve heard is very similar to Catholicism. I have been to church with friends
in the past before, but have never really taken the time to research and study the history behind this
religion. My field study took place in two different Catholic churches: Holy Rosary Church in Hilmar
and Our Lady of the Assumption in Turlock. I chose these two mainly because they were two of the
closest churches I have access to and both seem to have a fair amount of people attending. The Roman

In the fourth century Roman Empire, Constantine I issued the Edict of Milan, which marked the date
of the birth of the Church. Also, Christianity was the Roman state religion in the fourth century.
Catholic derives from the Greek and means universal, and all churches that use the title in their name
use it with a historical intent that they claim to be one universal church that was founded by the God
that they worship. Today, the whole Christian church still institutes one holy, Catholic, and apostolic
church in the Nicene Creed. The term Catholic, however, also applies similarly to the churches within
the Catholic Communion that are centered in Rome. The Church of Rome is one of the oldest
Christian communities, tracing its history to the apostles Peter and Paul in the first century. As the
Church of Rome started to develope, it emphasized the central authority and primacy of the bishop of
Rome, who became known as the Pope. By the eleventh century, the Catholic Church broke with the
Byzantine Church of the East over issues of both authority and doctrine. Particularly in response to
this division, several attempts were made to restore union and to heal the wounds of division between

Stereotypes Of Serial Killers
Unlike murderers, a psychopath s urge to kill does not come from average family affairs, financial
disputes, or disagreements in relationships. Psycho killers are driven by a desire to kill that is often
sexual and causes them to murder strangers and it is imperative to determine what makes a serial killer
so distinct from homicidal murderers. It has been proved that genetics is the key role in determining
who becomes a serial killer while criminologists and psychologists argue that abuse and abandonment
create the foundation in which serial killers grow into vicious murders. The largest difference between
a murderer and a serial killer is their desire to kill.

Zopiclone Is A Drug First Developed By Rhone Poulenc Rore
Zopiclone is a cyclopyrrolone drug first developed by Rhône Poulenc Rore (1, page 220) in the early
1970s (2). It is classified as a GABAA receptor agonist, and is a central nervous system depressant.
Zopiclone binds onto subunits on the GABAA receptor and modulates the opening of the chloride ion
channels in the neuron cell membrane (3, page 1). By increasing the conductance of chloride ions and
hyperpolarizing the neuron, the frequency of action potentials is reduced. This causes an inhibition of
brain activity, causing zopiclone to have hypnotic, sedative, muscle relaxant, anxiolytic, and
anticonvulsant effects (4).
Zopiclone acts much in the same way as benzodiazepines when used to treat insomnia, but was
believed to have less adverse effects, and less potential for developing tolerance and addiction. As a
result, it was first marketed as a better alternative to benzodiazepines. However, recent studies have
revealed that it is unclear whether zopiclone shows improvements over benzodiazepines when
assessed on therapeutic qualities and addiction potential (5, page 1). As a result, both zopiclone and
benzodiazepines are included in schedule IV of the United States Controlled Substances Act (6).
Zopiclone is known by several brand names, such as Imovane, Zimovane and Zimoclone (7). It is used
to treat insomnia in adults arising from increased sleep latency, frequent awakenings during in the
night, and premature awakening (3, page 1). Zopiclone alleviates the symptoms of

Essay about controlled assessment final
Controlled Assessment question:
How might the business you have chosen improve the way that it motivates its staff?
Introduction
For my controlled assessment the business that I m going to focus on is Jaguar Land Rover. I will be
analysing how they motivate their employees based at their local production plant which is in castle
Bromwich, Birmingham as this is also local to where I live. The ownership type for this business is a
public limited company; which is run by Tata Motors. Jaguar Land Rovers headquarter is located in
Whitley, Coventry. They employee 19,000 employees directly. Jaguar Land Rovers manufacture and

This will cause staff to start their work early as they are then already at work. A consequence of this is
increasing their employee s attendance and punctuality therefore productivity increases.
Another advantage of offering free food to Jaguar Land Rover staff is that they are encouraged to do
overtime. This is because their dinner would already be paid for. This can cause employees to do extra
work and increase sales. Resulting in the business to gain more profit.
However, offering employees free food can be a weakness in some aspects. For example, jaguar can
lose money by offering their employees free food. This is because jaguar land rover in castle
Bromwich has over 2500 employees which would then result it being very expensive for them all to
take advantage of this motivational method. Moreover causing Jaguar Land Rover to lose profit and
therefore won t be able to afford the equipment to not only make cars but specialised ones.
Another disadvantage of offering free food to Jaguar Land Rover staff is that the company may be
open to health risks. This is because the chemicals and fumes, machinery and being round dust could
create health hazards within the food content being served. The consequences of this are, more

Collection And Monitoring Of Particulate Matter
Collection and monitoring of Particulate Matter:
The aerodynamic properties of particles determine how they are transported in air and how they can
be removed from it. These properties also govern how far they get into the air passages of the
respiratory system. Additionally, they provide information on the chemical composition and the
sources of particles. Particles have irregular shapes and their aerodynamic behaviour is expressed in
terms of the diameter of an idealised sphere. The sampling and description of particles is based on this
aerodynamic diameter, which is usually simply referred to as particle size . Particles having the same
aerodynamic diameter may have different dimensions and shapes. Some airborne particles are over
10,000 times bigger than others in terms of aerodynamic diameter.
Based on size, particulate matter is often divided into two main groups: o The coarse fraction contains
the larger particles with a size ranging from 2.5 to 10 µm (PM10 PM2.5). o The fine fraction contains
the smaller ones with a size up to 2.5 µm (PM2.5). The particles in the fine fraction which are smaller
than 0.1 µm are called ultrafine particles.
Most of the total mass of airborne particulate matter is usually made up of fine particles ranging from
0.1 to 2.5 µm. Ultrafine particles often contribute only a few percent to the total mass, though they are
the most numerous, representing over 90% of the number of particles.
Airborne particulate matter represents a complex

Evan And Freeman
1. Evan and Freeman believe that managers have a trust keeping relationship to stakeholders. They
think the modern corporation should be governed for the stakeholders and to their benefit. The theory
that they believe in is the stakeholder theory of the firm. They believe that in the government today the
stakeholders are being used as a means to some end and are not able to contribute in determining the
prospect of the company that they have a stake in.
2. One of the issues of the invisible hand that Evan and Freeman criticize is the free rider problem. No
one has the incentive to keep the water or air clean which results in pollution. The industrial
revolution brought about firms trying to externalize the costs of their actions, but the cost is suffered
by all through taxes and parameters. Through these issues in 1970 environmental regulations were put
in place. Evan and Freeman believe that these issues led to more external control on managerial
capitalism.

Deontology provides the strongest support for the views of Evan and Freeman on the social
responsibility of business. Evan and Freeman believe that each person has the right to be treated as an
end itself instead of as a means for someone else and Emmanuel Kant believes the same thing. Kant is
the philosopher who created deontology. The Formula of Humanity as End believes that each person
should be treated right and respected as human beings. Evan and Freeman talk about how Kant s
principle of respect for people cannot be ignored. The Principle of Corporate Rights in the stakeholder
theory is very similar to Kant s Formula of Humanity as an End in that they both believe that respect
human rights is very

PTSD In Batman
The film begins with Bruce Wayne, Batman, recalling his parent s murder. We are introduced to an
older dark Batman who brands and kills criminals. Throughout the film, we are reminded of the
destruction that superman has caused in Metropolis when he indirectly destroyed the city. Lex Luthor
takes advantage of the situation by manipulating Batman to hate Superman (Clark Kent), and
capturing Superman s mother forcing the heroes to fight each other. Furthermore, the character Bruce
Wayne, in Batman v Superman (BVS), illustrates a clear example of post traumatic stress disorder
(PTSD) because of evidence of flashbacks, impulsive behavior and his inability to sleep. Flashbacks
are a severe symptom of PTSD where an individual experiences a traumatic

Apps are now an integral part of our everyday lives. We use them to check the weather and check into

A great outcome of the app revolution is the transformative learning that apps can help foster. There
are thousands of education apps in the Windows marketplace, Apple store and Google play store.
From early learning games to study aids and even apps that will help you manage the classroom, with
more being published every day.

Causes Of The Obstacles In The Odyssey
Everyone faces struggles at some point in their life, no matter if you are a hero from an old mythical
story or a modern day person living in Iowa. Even though the struggles faced by Odysseus and me are
different, they have a common overlapping theme that ties them together. Which causes them in turn
to be in fact very comparable. Both Odysseus and I face obstacles such as temptation, laziness, and
distraction. Although his obstacles come from his want to go back home to Ithaca, mine are from my
desire to live a happy and healthy lifestyle.
Temptation, sin or not? Depending on who you ask it may or may not be. Temptation can come in any
form. It sidetracks people from whatever their individual goal is and draws them to do something that
isn t the best for them. Odysseus and I both face temptation in different ways. For him it is his struggle
against the sirens. Mythical mermaid like creatures that sing to him with enchantments calling him to

It is one of the most underrated troubles. For it causes many issues in the world, though the blame
always seems to fall upon some other reason of cause. Laziness causes people to not want to fulfill
their wildest dreams to refusing to do necessary duties. On the island of the lotus eaters, Odysseus
faces laziness at its most extreme. The lotus flowers cause people to magically lose their longing for
home. Sailors don t have much control over their laziness, for it was forced upon them by way of
magic lotus flowers from the natives. My troubles with laziness come from giving up because
something is too hard , when really I just am being lazy. It causes me to not work as hard as I should
to achieve my goal of having a happy and healthy lifestyle. Laziness in Odysseus story and mine are
similar because we both lose the lust for our goal. Luckily we can both overcome laziness with hard

The Fall By Albert Camus
Albert Camus s absurdist novel The Fall deals with many overarching themes: justice, guilt, judgment,
freedom, and power. One of the more understated themes is that of punishment, as Jean Baptiste
Clamence is never formally punished. And yet, though the law does not condemn him, he still finds
himself plagued by guilt and fear of judgment even after he claims to have found a solution. Camus
shows, through symbolism and Clamence s own narration, that the lack of punishment is a burden for
Clamence in his supposedly happy life. While speaking to his companion of his new lifestyle in
Amsterdam, Jean Baptiste Clamence proclaims that he has discovered the secrets of the good life
(Camus 144). He even insists, repeatedly, that he is happy, happy unto death (144). And yet Camus
sprinkles hints all over the pages that this is not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Water is inextricably tied to his guilt: the suicidal woman he fails to save drowns in a canal (70), and it
is from the water that he first hears the condemning laughter (39). Before he ever mentions the woman
Clamence didn t save, Camus connects water with death, as Clamence comments on the breath of
stagnant waters, the smell of dead leaves soaking in the canal and the funereal scent rising from the
barges loaded with flowers (43). The water represents his guilt and his crimes, and yet, rather than
escaping it, Clamence moves to a city of canals where he is constantly surrounded by water. This is
not because the water doesn t affect him any longer; on the contrary, he still fears to cross bridges at
night (15) and he admits that he forces himself to admire the canals (43). He outright acknowledges
that the cry of the suicidal woman would continue to await me on seas and rivers, everywhere, in
short, where lies the bitter waters of my baptism (108). Thus, in surrounding himself by water,
Clamence is sure never to be free of the torment of his

Disney Theme Park Case Study
Disney displays an interesting effect on the global Asian market through their park based in Shanghai.
The Disney s theme park collects its revenue from four main areas, admission charges, merchandise
sales, food and beverage, and other miscellaneous fees such as locker rental. Middle class families,
tourists and residents are the main customers to the park. Disneyland is in the business of theme parks.
As the main motivator for tourism trip and core factor of related products, theme parks are important
players in the tourism industry. In 1955, with his extraordinary creativity, Walt Disney established the
first theme park Disneyland in Los Angeles, California. Different entertaining activities were
combined to create a dramatic and fancy world, which attracted numerous tourists from all around the
world. An image was presented where attention was paid to cleanliness, visitor comfort and quality.
This was all reinforced by the famous Disney cartoons. (Kemperman 2000) With the success of
Disneyland, there are a growing number of theme parks all over the world. However, because of the
differences in economic distribution, culture development and consumer behavior, the development of
theme park in Asian market has far behind the western countries. Therefore, internationalization is on
the plan. In 2017, China reached the total amount of 1260.01 USD HML in Foreign Direct Investment

An Analysis Of Margaret Atwood And The Handmaid s Tale
Occasionally, fear can compel people to pursue solutions they were previously uncomfortable with.
While these solutions may be a desperate attempt to alleviate a dire situation, they may be effective in
avoiding possible plights. Likewise, the Xinjiang region of China and the plot of The Handmaid s Tale
by Margaret Atwood, explores this dilemma as both government systems employ regulations, which
may seem excessive to some but considered as necessary to the governments present in Xinjiang and
the republic of Gilead in The Handmaid s Tale . Moreover, the conflict occurring in Xinjiang is similar
to the governmental system in Gilead because of the abundance of security forces, apparent lack of

Furthermore, The Handmaid s Tale accentuates the similar vibe of the lack of privacy with
Handmaids, with them rarely talking to one another to protect personal safety and to avoid forming
forbidden friendships. Security constantly scrutinizes the Handmaid s whereabouts and actions
throughout the novel, another element of the dystopian society Offred dislikes. Fear is justified to be
an effective motive for obedience among citizens of Xinjiang and Gilead, eliminating possible forms
of retaliation. In Xinjiang, their deplorable protest in July 2009 is a strong foundation of the holistic
fear among citizens. In order to prevent another disaster and provoking the communist party and other
authoritative institutions, citizens remain compliant to the rules the communist government has
established. Cleverly, the government uses the society s period of obedience to provide irresistible job
opportunities to further decrease the chances of uprisings and protests. Moreover, by embedding
appealing features into the enforced governmental policies, the citizens of Xinjiang have fewer
reasons to retaliate against the unavoidable security force. The government proactively seeks the youth
to perceive the substantial amount of security as ordinary, utilizing pathos by routinely playing their,
propaganda songs: a jolly children s song about obeying traffic laws, and a more somber acoustic tune
that promotes core Communist values. The government

Sex Education Programs
Sex education programs were created to reduce the number of teen pregnancies, sexually transmitted
diseases, and HIV/AIDS. For a long time there has been a debate over which sex education method,
comprehensive or abstinence only, should be taught to adolescents. Comprehensive sex education is
an approach that advocates giving teens age appropriate instruction concerning birth control methods,
safe sex, and differing sexual orientations (Kelly, 2011, p. 153). This method may encourage
abstinence or waiting until marriage, but they also want to inform adolescents about the potential risks
and how to protect themselves from pregnancy or disease. Abstinence only education is an approach
to educating young people that emphasizes the need to abstain from sexual relations until marriage
(Kelly, 2011, p. 154). People who strongly believe in this method may think that informing young
people about contraception and sexual behaviors will encourage the behavior rather than deter it. The
effectiveness of a program is dependant on the training provided to the educators and how well young
people are interpreting and applying the information. According to the textbook, one study found that
adolescents who received comprehensive sexuality education had a slightly lower rate of intercourse
and were less likely to report pregnancy, but this was not the case with abstinence only education
(Kelly, 2011, p. 155). This same study saw no reduction in the STD rates from either form of

Relationship Between A Mother Daughter Relationships And...
In Affection and Acrimony : Exploring Mother Daughter Relationships in Gilmore Girls
Almost every woman in North America has some form of a relationship with their daughter and/or
mother in their lifetime. However, these relation can vary in amiability and affection. Whether due to
similarities or differences in personality or circumstances in life, mothers and daughters can be close
confidants or fierce foes. These familial relationships have been studied in part by Marianne Hirsch
and Sharon M. Varallo in their essays on the familial gaze and the genre of family photographs,
respectively. In this essay, I will be using the work previously done by Hirsch and Varallo to analyze
two different mother daughter relationships presented in the television show Gilmore Girls. The two
relationships differ vastly in their outward appearance, however both relationships show underlying
characteristics of both friendship and animosity. Overall, these two mother daughter relationships
demonstrate that the love between a mother and a daughter can be expressed in various ways.
Gilmore Girls follows the lives of three women in the Gilmore family. Rory, the youngest, is a
teenager at the beginning of the show. She is an only child and was raised by her single mother,

Imagine being told that you could never eat another ice cream cone. When someone is diagnosed with
ulcerative colitis, there is a litary of foods that should be avoided. Ulcerative colitis is described as a
chronic inflammatory disease that causes inflammation and swelling in the large intestine. People have
tiny ulcers and small holes in their colon and rectum. This causes bloody stools and diarrhea. While
having colitis the patient can go through periods of flare ups and remission. Remission is when the
disease seems to be gone and all symptoms go away but can reappear at any time. Colitis can be
referred to as inflammatory bowel disease or IBD. Ulcerative colitis is a devastating illness, and
treatment typically includes surgery, taking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are many different medicines that can be used to treat colitis and it all depends on the patient s
condition. For some, simply just changing their diet can decrease the severity of colitis. Others require
surgery to fix their condition. First doctors have to diagnose the disease. Colitis can be diagnosed in
various ways. This includes laboratory tests, endoscopy, and/or barium enema x ray. Also it can be
diagnosed based on medical history, physical examination, or a biopsy of the colon tissue. The most
common ways are blood tests, stool samples, CT scans, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, and pill camera
(WebMD 1). Your doctor may order one or more of these tests to distinguish that you have colitis.
Once it is determined that one has colitis the various treatment options are put into effect. First drug
therapy is used to try and lessen symptoms or put patients into remission, a period of time where the
patient experiences no pain and temporarily feels normal again. The four main types of drugs used for
treating colitis are aminosalicylates, corticosteroids, immunosuppressants, and biologic agents
(Cleveland Clinic 2). Aminosalicylates main purpose is to reduce inflammation and prevent relapses
and keep people in remission. The standard aminosalicylates drug is sulfasalazine. This drug combines

The purpose of dividends received deduction is to prevent triple taxation of earnings. The Dividend

Type G: Transfer
Type G reorganizations involve bankruptcy by permitting the transfer of all or some of a failing
company s assets to a new corporation.
17 24.
Define and differentiate a spin off, split off, and split up.
Split up: An arrangement whereby a parent corporation transfers all of its assets to two or more
corporations and then winds up its affairs. When a split up occurs, the shareholders of the parent
corporation surrender the total amount of their stock in exchange for stock in the transferee
corporation.
Split Off: The process whereby a parent corporation organizes a subsidiary corporation to which it
transfers part of its assets in exchange for all of the subsidiary s capital stock, which is subsequently
transferred to the shareholders of the parent corporation in exchange for a portion of their parent stock.
A split off differs from a spin off in that the shareholders in a split off must relinquish their shares of

In 1998, Julio César Gallegos tried to cross again. This time he and several others would not be so lucky. The group was waiting to be picked up by a vehicle that never came. The extreme heat killed them in a matter of weeks, and were soon found. Groups like Gallegos risk their lives each day to enter the United States without authorization from Mexico. This helps explain why the boundary simultaneously serves as both an obstacle and a gateway functions that are both contradictory and complimentary (78). The border is a gateway that allows individuals to travel between both countries with legal documentation. On the other hand, the boundary is an obstacle because it is a danger to the people who try to cross illegally. That is why U.S. law enforcement policies have been put in place. These policies have changed the way people travel to and from Mexico and the United States. By strengthening the enforcement efforts along the border, law enforcement has made it safer for all migrants who are looking to enter the U.S. legally. The effect of U.S. immigration enforcement is not so much to stop migration, but to define the status of people as subordinate once they have arrived (111). Sherlock Holmes is a crime series based in the Victorian era when feminists in this period were calling for women and children to have equal protection under the law (Miller 55). • 7. Church s Opposition To Capital Punishment In The Roman... Capital punishment: the legally authorized killing of someone as punishment for crime. In the United States, there is a distinct line between matters of Church and State; capital punishment falls under the territory of the State. But, in 1974, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, the USCCB, made the decision to publically announce the Roman Catholic Church s opposition to capital punishment after a former president of the USCCB called the issue of capital punishment not only a profound legal and political question but also an important moral and religious issue. But, even this sagacious group of Church officials had a difficult time pin pointing the Church s exact reasoning for their defensive against capital punishment. Throughout the article, the bishops try to make sense of many twisting questions, including: in the eyes of the Church, what circumstances, if any, make capital punishment acceptable? Although the 1980 article was released by the USCCB in attempts to help the people of the Church understand this contradictory issue, it fell short due to the fact that even the accredited statements run in circles. According to Part I, Purposes of Punishment , the Catholic Church is not and will never be completely sure if the state has the right to end the life of a person guilty for a heinous crime. While ending the villain s life protects the citizens from danger, it violates the Roman Catholic Church s belief that all life has value. Bishops urged ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It follows a young boy who becomes a great success at ballet after he starts attending dance classes instead of his boxing classes. The play uses parallel storylines of the struggle for coal mine workers rights and Billy s struggle to become a great dancer. It takes place in an impoverished town in the UK during the 80 s but it was performed in 2017 at the Berkeley playhouse. The play is impactful because it satires gender stereotypes and advocates for the payoff of hard work. My favorite character was the ballet teacher. • 19. Zopiclone Is A Drug First Developed By Rhone Poulenc Rore Zopiclone is a cyclopyrrolone drug first developed by Rhône Poulenc Rore (1, page 220) in the early 1970s (2). It is classified as a GABAA receptor agonist, and is a central nervous system depressant. Zopiclone binds onto subunits on the GABAA receptor and modulates the opening of the chloride ion channels in the neuron cell membrane (3, page 1). By increasing the conductance of chloride ions and hyperpolarizing the neuron, the frequency of action potentials is reduced. This causes an inhibition of brain activity, causing zopiclone to have hypnotic, sedative, muscle relaxant, anxiolytic, and anticonvulsant effects (4). Zopiclone acts much in the same way as benzodiazepines when used to treat insomnia, but was believed to have less adverse effects, and less potential for developing tolerance and addiction. As a result, it was first marketed as a better alternative to benzodiazepines. However, recent studies have revealed that it is unclear whether zopiclone shows improvements over benzodiazepines when assessed on therapeutic qualities and addiction potential (5, page 1). As a result, both zopiclone and benzodiazepines are included in schedule IV of the United States Controlled Substances Act (6). Zopiclone is known by several brand names, such as Imovane, Zimovane and Zimoclone (7). It is used to treat insomnia in adults arising from increased sleep latency, frequent awakenings during in the night, and premature awakening (3, page 1). Zopiclone alleviates the symptoms of ... • 21. Collection And Monitoring Of Particulate Matter Collection and monitoring of Particulate Matter: The aerodynamic properties of particles determine how they are transported in air and how they can be removed from it. These properties also govern how far they get into the air passages of the respiratory system. Additionally, they provide information on the chemical composition and the sources of particles. Particles have irregular shapes and their aerodynamic behaviour is expressed in terms of the diameter of an idealised sphere. The sampling and description of particles is based on this aerodynamic diameter, which is usually simply referred to as particle size . Particles having the same aerodynamic diameter may have different dimensions and shapes. Some airborne particles are over 10,000 times bigger than others in terms of aerodynamic diameter. Based on size, particulate matter is often divided into two main groups: o The coarse fraction contains the larger particles with a size ranging from 2.5 to 10 µm (PM10 PM2.5). o The fine fraction contains the smaller ones with a size up to 2.5 µm (PM2.5). The particles in the fine fraction which are smaller than 0.1 µm are called ultrafine particles. Most of the total mass of airborne particulate matter is usually made up of fine particles ranging from 0.1 to 2.5 µm. The lotus flowers cause people to magically lose their longing for home. Sailors don t have much control over their laziness, for it was forced upon them by way of magic lotus flowers from the natives. My troubles with laziness come from giving up because something is too hard , when really I just am being lazy. It causes me to not work as hard as I should to achieve my goal of having a happy and healthy lifestyle. Laziness in Odysseus story and mine are similar because we both lose the lust for our goal. Luckily we can both overcome laziness with hard work and determination, even if Pandora releases it from the box ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. The Fall By Albert Camus Albert Camus s absurdist novel The Fall deals with many overarching themes: justice, guilt, judgment, freedom, and power. One of the more understated themes is that of punishment, as Jean Baptiste Clamence is never formally punished. And yet, though the law does not condemn him, he still finds himself plagued by guilt and fear of judgment even after he claims to have found a solution. Camus shows, through symbolism and Clamence s own narration, that the lack of punishment is a burden for Clamence in his supposedly happy life. While speaking to his companion of his new lifestyle in Amsterdam, Jean Baptiste Clamence proclaims that he has discovered the secrets of the good life (Camus 144). He even insists, repeatedly, that he is happy, happy unto death (144). And yet Camus sprinkles hints all over the pages that this is not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Water is inextricably tied to his guilt: the suicidal woman he fails to save drowns in a canal (70), and it is from the water that he first hears the condemning laughter (39). Before he ever mentions the woman Clamence didn t save, Camus connects water with death, as Clamence comments on the breath of stagnant waters, the smell of dead leaves soaking in the canal and the funereal scent rising from the barges loaded with flowers (43). The water represents his guilt and his crimes, and yet, rather than escaping it, Clamence moves to a city of canals where he is constantly surrounded by water. This is not because the water doesn t affect him any longer; on the contrary, he still fears to cross bridges at night (15) and he admits that he forces himself to admire the canals (43). He outright acknowledges that the cry of the suicidal woman would continue to await me on seas and rivers, everywhere, in short, where lies the bitter waters of my baptism (108). Thus, in surrounding himself by water, Clamence is sure never to be free of the torment of his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Fear is justified to be an effective motive for obedience among citizens of Xinjiang and Gilead, eliminating possible forms of retaliation. In Xinjiang, their deplorable protest in July 2009 is a strong foundation of the holistic fear among citizens. In order to prevent another disaster and provoking the communist party and other authoritative institutions, citizens remain compliant to the rules the communist government has established. Cleverly, the government uses the society s period of obedience to provide irresistible job opportunities to further decrease the chances of uprisings and protests. • 38. Sex Education Programs Sex education programs were created to reduce the number of teen pregnancies, sexually transmitted diseases, and HIV/AIDS. For a long time there has been a debate over which sex education method, comprehensive or abstinence only, should be taught to adolescents. Comprehensive sex education is an approach that advocates giving teens age appropriate instruction concerning birth control methods, safe sex, and differing sexual orientations (Kelly, 2011, p. 153). This method may encourage abstinence or waiting until marriage, but they also want to inform adolescents about the potential risks and how to protect themselves from pregnancy or disease. Abstinence only education is an approach to educating young people that emphasizes the need to abstain from sexual relations until marriage (Kelly, 2011, p. 154). People who strongly believe in this method may think that informing young people about contraception and sexual behaviors will encourage the behavior rather than deter it. The effectiveness of a program is dependant on the training provided to the educators and how well young people are interpreting and applying the information. According to the textbook, one study found that adolescents who received comprehensive sexuality education had a slightly lower rate of intercourse and were less likely to report pregnancy, but this was not the case with abstinence only education (Kelly, 2011, p. 155). This same study saw no reduction in the STD rates from either form of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This includes laboratory tests, endoscopy, and/or barium enema x ray. Also it can be diagnosed based on medical history, physical examination, or a biopsy of the colon tissue.
