The Case Against The Fugitive Slave Law
Since the spoken word, hundreds of philosophers have defined law in different ways. Philosophy
allows people to study the nature of people s beliefs which can differ over time. Not even laws are
exempt from the opinions of philosophers. Seeing law in different ways allows people to come to
different conclusions about legal cases. The Fugitive Slave Law was a controversial law in American
history which allowed slave owners to capture their slaves who have fled north to free states. Once, a
group of emancipators in Boston were tried for helping an escaped slave flee to Canada. These
emancipators challenged the Fugitive Slave Law in United States v Morris. According to the Fugitive
Slave Law, helping an escaped slave is in violation of the law. In this case, the jurors let the
emancipators free for helping a slave escape slavery to Canada. This leads to the question Did the
jurors in Morris do the right thing? Philosophy gives us the tools to analyze the legality of the juror s
actions and answer this question. Natural Law theory, Positivism, Legal Realism, Neo natural law
theory, and Paul Butler s theory of law all provide different outlooks to answering this question.
Despite having differing beliefs about the role of morality and law, these philosophies all conclude
that the jurors in Morris did the right thing. Thomas Aquinas Natural Law theory proves the jurors in
Morris did make the right decision. The Natural Law theory discusses our ability to distinguish

Essay about Introduction of HIPPA Standards for Employees
Using the Foundation of Knowledge Model, I would explain to the vice president that knowledge
acquisition, which occurs through education and research, occurred in our department during a
morning huddle, where HIPPA standards were first introduced to members of our department
(McGonigle Mastrian, 2012). Through an introduction of what HIPPA meant for healthcare providers,
staff learned that HIPPA meant confidentiality of protected health information ( Health insurance,
2013). This meant staff were to only access patient information for patients they were taking care of
and they needed to be cautious with whom and where patient information was discussed. All staff
were required to complete a learning module and pass the module and ... Show more content on

Knowledge processing is the final step where knowledge is gathered or collected, perceived,
transmitted, and stored (McGonigle Mastrian, 2012). Staff gathered information about the importance
of HIPPA and the consequences of not following HIPPA. Knowing the importance and consequences
and what steps need to be taken to protect patient information, nurses are consciously aware of ways
to prevent violation of HIPPA. As new knowledge is acquired, techniques to prevent violation of
HIPPA will continue to arise and practice to prevent violation with continue to change to maintain
patient privacy.
Dear Vice President,
I would like to reassure you that my staff are very compliant with HIPPA. Since HIPPA was
introduced, staff have completed an annual HIPPA competency and signed a form stating their
understanding and willing to comply with HIPPA. It is evident that staff are taking measures to
prevent violations of HIPPA. In the hallways if a computer happens to be logged in with no user in
sight, staff members passing by will immediately log off the computer. Even though staff are
constantly reminded to never keep their computers logged in, there are instances where users are
logged in, yet they are no where to be found. We will continue to remind staff of the importance of
logging off. With the implementation of bedside reporting and interdisciplinary

Fantastik Cleaners
Executive Summary
Fantastik is an all purpose cleaner made by SC Johnson that has two main product lines; the Fantastik
Original and the new, more powerful, Fantastik Evergreen. These are not just regular chemically made
cleaning products but are 100% environmentally safe.
Fantastik is currently the market leader with 37.9% and has an extremely loyal consumer base
following the SC Johnson brand but they are currently losing market share due to a lack of positioning
by the company. One main advantage Fantastik holds is there is a current trend for consumers being
more green conscious which makes the product more attractive. This is why communicating Fantastik
s position Clean Green message must be done effectively.
There are three ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This leads into the next issue their organization faces, which is their lack of informing the consumers
of their product benefits. The Fantastik cleaners are the only ones on the market that are 100% safe for
the environment. With such a competitive advantage over their competitors, they have to be able to
bridge this communication gap they currently have with consumers, because many of them are
unaware of Fantastik s triple bottom line goals. In order to help build brand awareness, they have to
advertise more to their target segments. But one of the issues is Fantastik s advertising budget has
decreased from $1,375,000 in 2005 to $825,000 in 2006. Fantastik also has the problem of lacking
diversity in their product line. Although they have five different cleaners, all of them are fairly similar
and many consumers would not be able to tell their differences other than the price.
Internal Analysis
Financial Position: Currently, Fantastik has a 37.9% dollar share in the all purpose cleaner market in
Canada which amounts to $12,128,000 (Figure 2). Using the current retailer mark up of 23%, we can
find Fantastik s sales which are 9,860,162.60 (Figure 2). Overall it is difficult to gauge how well
Fantastik is doing. Its gross profit after costs of goods sold and discounts is $3,544,065. Since fixed
costs are not known, we do not know if Fantastik is

Sonny Corleone s Injustice In The Film, The Godfather
The Godfather In the chosen scene, we see Sonny Corleone heading home after an incident where he
threatens his brother in law with death if he continues to abuse the sister of Sonny. On his drive back,
he stops at a toll booth; however, cars pull up behind him, and to each side boxing him in. The
passengers of all 3 vehicles open fire on Sonny resulting in his tragic death. I believe that this scene in
particular helps to embody the movie as a whole due to its tragic and violent nature. For instance,
earlier in the movie Don Corleon attempts to help his Godson, Johnny Fontane, by influencing an
abrasive studio yet through the death of his prized stallion. However, a few scenes afterwards it can be
seen that outside forces conspire to box the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe that this scene in particular truly captures the devastation, destruction and sadness that the
true attack brought on both in reality and in the fictionalized account created within the movie. The
pain, the sorrow and the desire for revenge that is reflected in the eyes and faces of the attendees helps
to set the stage for the subsequent scenes in the movie where the bombing run on Japan occurs. While
I do have to admit that there are an assortment of better scenes in the movie such as the scene where
Danny dies and tells Rafe with his last breath that Rafe will be a father or the ending scene where Rafe
and his young son ride off in a small plane, the fact remains that these scenes could be attributed to
any other fictional movie while the memorial scene truly embodies the spirit of Pearl

Summary Of Orientation By Daniel Orozco
The short story Orientation by Daniel Orozco is exactly what the title suggests. An orientation of the
new office job somebody has just received. However, the story delves much deeper into the lives of
several employees at this office. Orozco s employment of somber satire in Orientation displays how
alienated a community can become in corporate environments. The way in which Orozco structured
this story is very effective to the reader as well. Orozco depicted an office setting that emphasizes
regulations and unnecessary procedures, as well as corporate uniformity and bureaucracy. When the
narrator begins to spill the secrets and quirks of each person in the office but insists the newcomer
ignore them, he is advocating isolation that is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And all these personal secrets and information on one another is juxtaposed with explanations of
places and objects in the office such as Mr. Coffee and the weekly coffee pools, as well as the supply
cabinet. All this creates a very strange mix of detachment and affection. A prime example of this is
illustrated when the narrator tells the new person the office is haunted by Barry Hacker s dead wife
and ends it with We have four Barrys in this office. Isn t that a coincidence? The result is hilarious and

Andrew Dvork Robots
We ain t seen nothing yet , claims robot expert Andrew McAfee. Robots are in and around our jobs at
every moment, many believe these just aid in creating jobs, but they may at one point replace us in
even the most specialized of tasks. The current idea that the economy is improving and unemployment
is at a relative low may be correct but is highly unstable. Soon all of the major industries will fall to
the robot revolution, based on their improvements over the previous years, benefits to employers, and
several expert predictions. The first thought of countless people pertaining to robots is they will

For example, as soon as factories could be implemented economically they were, albeit on a massive
scale. The speed was unseen as well, with a single generation changing from an agrarian society to an
industrial one, with this being much the same. Politically, conservatives hasten the transition by
providing resources and subsidies to businesses, while liberals speed it up by forcing employers to
look into alternatives to avoid the complications of an actual worker. Lee Drutman even went as far as
to say both sides are ignoring the problem while at the same time speeding it up. With more and more
simple jobs falling only those with high intellectual jobs will prevail; however, not even those jobs are
immune, we simply need to review the premise of what we address as work. This to some people is a
problem, but a society where everyone can be rid of work and act as the great minds of ancient

Iconography Of Virgin Mary
The iconography contained in this painting is religious for the most obvious reasons such as the
depiction of the Virgin Mary, baby Jesus, along with the angel holding the Virgin s crown. Also, the
capitals that are shown on the left include scenes from the Old Testament which highlight humanity
errors. Some of the errors that are depicted are Adam and Eve getting thrown out from the Garden of
Eden, the sacrifice of Caine and Abel, God receiving Abel s offering, along with other scenes. Another
reason why there is religious iconography can be seen between the positions of the individuals who
are being portrayed. For example, the chancellor appears to be kneeling down towards baby Jesus and
the Virgin Mary, on one side of the painting you have sacred figures and on the left side you have the
chancellor representing the public. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Ragamuffin Gospel Reflection
I have read 100% of the book in the past and 75% this time (some skimming).
What I enjoy most/least about the text. This is the second time I have read The Ragamuffin Gospel by
Brennan Manning (2005), and I still feel like it is a must read for any Christian. The first time I read
this book I remember being awed by God s Grace for ragamuffins and how that relates to my
interactions with people; when I showed God s grace, and when I did not. I still remember specific
times when God reminded me how much he loved the broken and how I could be his hand outreached
by being Jesus with skin on . I also remember specific times when I knew God was directing me to
love on someone, and I for one reason or another, I did not. The first time I read Manning s book, I fell
more in love with people because it helped get a glimpse of how much God loved a ragamuffin. Now
that I am older and life has been harder, I read Manning s book in a different light. Unlike the first
time, where I was reminded how much God loves others; this time it reminds me how much God loves
me! Even though my faith has faltered, and I have had series of doubts and struggles with trust, God
sill loves me. While reading the same words I did several years ago I am seeing things differently.
What I learned. During the past year, I have been doing a great deal of stretching . I have sought out
help to heal from past hurts and continue to look for ways to restore and grow. Along the way I

Facing The Giant Character Essay
My favorite character from Facing the Giants is David. He enrolled in a new school, having just
moved to the town with his father. He played soccer, but since the school did not have a soccer team,
he tried out for the football team as a second string kicker. He is conscious of his small size and
football skills, and is not confident that he will even kick the ball straight. This affects him greatly
when, at the state championship, David had to kick a fifty one yard field goal in two seconds to win
the game after the main kicker is injured. The farthest he had kicked was thirty nine yard field goal,
and he argued with Coach Taylor about his idea. The coach encourages him, telling him to do his best.

about everything he did. His father was the only person that encouraged him to try out for the football
team, and he also told him that even though he is small, it doesn t make him weak. When David got
the kicker position, he still didn t think he was good enough to play with the rest of the boys. He
thought that he wasn t going to make it before he even kicked the ball. When his father noticed this
behavior, he raised both of his hands up straight until David saw him. This small act of belief in David
made him do his best in football. David received a lot of support from his coaches, and especially his
dad. By the end of the movie, David scored a point for the team that made them win the state
championship against the Giants, a team that was twice their size and never lost a game. This is a great
story of personal growth and this is what made him my favorite character from the movie. What
intrigues me the most is what happened after he made that winning

Miller et al (2007) showed greater knee flexion and internal hip rotation in runners with ITBS at heel
strike. Using a simple biomechanical they showed that both factors increased stress on the ITB.
Biomechanical studies show that maximum compression of the ITB over the lateral femoral condyle
occurs at 30 degrees flexion of the knee (Orchard, 1996) hence it has been assumed that the band
actually moves over the condyle.
MRI findings in a study by Nishimura et al (1997) suggest soft tissue inflammation and /or oedema
rather than focal fluid collection. This study also showed no alteration to the structure of the ITB
itself, and that the posterior fibres are tighter against the femur. A further study involving cadavers and

Friendship Is The True Meaning Of It
Friendship, something that we all have but something that we may not really understand the true
meaning of it. During the reading Thoreau goes into detail of how friends are really not what we think
them to be. We often don t actually have friends but rather just acquaintances or companions. He goes
on to explain who are real friends are and why they are our friends and that no one else really is.
Thoreau states, What is commonly called friendship even is only a little more honor among rogues (p.
144). This brings attention to that a friendship is slightly more than someone who is dishonest to you.
Your friend will only tell the truth once in a while. They do what they believe to be best for you. When
we have friends we are only saying they are not our enemy (p. 143). Our friend may not always be
someone we get along with greatly but someone whom we do not dishonor. We are not at war with
them or out to make their lives inferior. We respect who they are and what they do but only because
we are friends with them and not enemies.
A friend should be treated no better than I (they) should be (p. 143) says Thoreau. If a man deserves to
be treated as one who is disrespectful or dishonest then that is how they shall be treated. Can we
consider our neighbors friends? We treat them the way the deserve to be treated because they living
next to us. Some neighbors get along and are friends only because they are next to each other. Other

Comparison Between Modern Day Music And Langston Hughes...
Comparison of modern day music to Langston Hughes and Paul Laurence Dunbar Poetry has changed
over the course of many years and numerous events in history.Music, as well, changed the sound and
lyrical meanings due to many events in history. Whether music is poetry or not can be argued, but I
believe music is an art represented through sound and lyrics. Music is a form of poetry with a little
tune to it. Music has a message to it just as poetry would. Modern day music can reflect on many
things, just as poetry sometimes refers to events going on in the world. Many years ago a very
controversial topic was the discussion of slavery, and later the inequality of colored men to whites.
Popular American poets, Paul Laurence Dunbar and Langston Hughes, are two of the very few who
would talk about these controversies. Their poetry consisted of slavery, racial relations and inequality,
opportunity, and hope. Their poetry captures the despair and faith in the colored people through all
their oppression. Modern day music genre and style of hip hop or rap is a style created by African
Americans. Present day rap artists, J Cole and Kendrick Lamar, are two rap artists who have
revolutionized music and have become idolized by many African Americans. The two are known for
discussing the reality of what it is like being a black man in today s society. The poems of Hughes and
Dunbar are very comparable to the songs of Cole and Lamar that discuss oppression, inequality, and
hope within black

Through bourgeoisie, which incorporated the serfs and the middle ages, there were developed cities in
the ancient times that have developed to be the modern day cities. It is from the effects of communism
that America was discovered and the rounding of the Cape (Marx, Fredrick, 4). This in return provided
an opportunity for the growth and development of the bourgeoisie. In line with the journal, the
communist manifesto also brought about the development of the markets in the far Asian regions of
China. This accelerated industrialization in the region due to the need to increase production of
finished goods for the general population.
As a result of the population pressure witnessed in the European region, industrial developments were
monopolized and thus their production was insufficient to cater for the ever growing population
pressure in the European region. It was due to this that there was the need to revolutionize machinery
to cater for the production. This led to the improvements if the type of engines from steam engines to
modern systems of machinery that would produce sufficient goods for the public. The development of
modern forms of the market as described by Marx led to the establishment of the global markets. The
market developed was grown by the rapid developments witnessed in commerce, formal means of

The Yellow Wall-Paper
The Yellow Wall Paper is a short story that was published in 1892 by Charlotte Perkins Gilman.
Gilman s ideas about equality for men and women are vividly present in the short story. She believed
that women should be more equal economically, socially, and be able to have jobs and work outside of
their home. The Yellow Wall Paper focuses on how women were seen as home keepers and not able to

Comparison Of Jules Ferry And Georges Clemenceau
Jules Ferry and Georges Clemenceau were two of the greatest proponents of the Third Republic in
France. They had been active even before the fall of the Second Empire, with Ferry writing articles
against the Empire in Le Temps (Encyclopædia Britannica, 1998) and Clemenceau founding several
Republican journals, and even being present at Léon Gambetta s proclamation of the Third Republic
in 1870 (Monnerville, 2016).Whilst it is clear that the two men were both staunch supporters of a
republic in the sense of government delegated to a small number of citizens elected by the rest

Clemenceau is more tied to the theory of the ideal republic as espoused by J.S. Mill, which states that
in a representative democracy people exercise through deputies periodically elected by themselves
ultimate controlling power (1951 cited Myo 2009). In this view, the politician is bound to the wishes
of his electorate. Whilst entrusted to make decisions on their behalf, they do so as a representative and
not as an autocratic ruler. Ferry on the other hand is closer to the theory of Niccolo Machiavelli. This
purports that the politician must act not as an extension of the electorate, but as their leader, protecting
them from the corruptions they see in society (1987[1532] cited Myo 2009). Ferry is more akin to a
Machiavellian republican leader in his paternalism and his feeling that he has been elected to mold the
French nation into his republican vision as opposed to simply representing

It also has the potential to lead to better cost efficiency in the health sector. ICT can play a critical role
in improving health care for individuals and communities. It can also transform informal regulation by
providing people with the knowledge they require to challenge existing practices and make more
rational health care choices (Adeboyejo and Olatokun, 2009). Patients are empowered to take more
responsibility for their health and quality of life through the use of health ICT. Health ICT allows the
collaboration and involvement of patients and healthcare providers in the prevention and treatment of
common illnesses. Through the development of databases and other applications, health ICT provides
new and more efficient ways of accessing, communicating, and storing information. Hence, it ensures
top quality healthcare services for patients. Evidence Based Medicine: The role of Health ICT within
the Health Sector Adopting and implementing a health ICT system is a major organizational
commitment that may possibly last health care providers for several years. In order to take full
advantage of such systems, providers are required to redesign the way they practice medicine
(Congressional Budget Office, 2008). Health ICT is offering the health care sector a fresh domain
known as evidence based medicine (EBM). EBM marks a shift within the health care sector from a
traditional practice which emphasis on clinical authoritative opinions, to an emphasis on data

Sidney Crosby
Sidney Crosby
The place was Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Day was Friday, August 7, 1987. On this day, a man, Troy,
and a woman, Trina, rejoiced in the birth of their first born child, a son. A son that would soon choose
to live, eat, and breathe hockey. A child, unknown at the time, who would soon take the National
Hockey League by storm. A child who would become the greatest, talented player of all the hockey
world, and who would remarkably achieve this goal by the age of nineteen. This is Sidney Patrick

Mr. Grudem s Argument Against Racism
I ve read this and been thinking about it. Here is my response to this the editorial. First of all, OF
COURSE Christians should try to influence elections... so should everyone else! My concern about
the focus is that so often it seems that the Christians Mr. Grudem is trying to influence try to tie their
political opinions, policy positions, and those whom they support with their religion. I very rarely see
this link as being positive; typically it is short sighted and replaces critical thinking of far sighted
potential ramifications of a policy to blind obedience to a faith based system of thought. That is not
healthy, and it is certainly not Christianity. So I agree with the principle, but I am reading something
sinister between the lines. Paranoia on my part? Possibly, but recent history of certain religious groups
selling out to a certain political party suggest otherwise.
His basis for voting for flawed candidate is, in fact, a good one in my opinion. Since all people are
flawed in many respects, then it is incumbent to look at the flaws and decide if one person may be

immigrants in the past, and don t worry, walls solve everything anyway), and misogynistic (again,
Trump has expounded in great detail his contempt for women (at least those who stand against his

The Pros And Cons Of Current Account Deficit
The current account is an important component of the balance of trade system of our country. It is a
measurement of a country s trade where the value of the goods and services it exports. A current
account deficit represents negative sales abroad. A country undergoing current account deficit results
in foreign liabilities and debt with the rest of the world. This further leads to payback of foreign
current account reserves. Current Account includes imports and exports of goods and services and
unilateral transfers of goods and services. Current account deficit in simple words is the economic
situation when the total imports are more than the exports. This means that the country is importing
more than exporting which requires the country to pay for the goods and services it imports. This
leads to an unfavorable economic situation. The present record is a ... Show more content on

the overflow, and a present record shortfall diminishes it by that sum. A nation s adjust of current
account is the net or distinction between the nation s exports of products and enterprises and its
imports of merchandise and ventures, disregarding all money related current accounts, speculations,
and different segments, over a given timeframe. A nation is said to have a current account surplus if its

Fallen Bird
Stiff and smooth sticking out between my aching toes, the grass flirts with my feet giving me the
illusion that it knows who I am. I lift myself up from the ground and head straight, making sure my
front sole feels the rough rubble that no one cares to pick up. My toes touch the fine cinder and I
measure out two steps before I turn and start running. I count the steps in my head and feel the track

in order to compete in my cities annual track and field meet.

myself to blame for thinking that someone like me could win a meet. I want to lie in bed and listen to
the world pass me by but Alistair refuses to let me do so. He takes me to the track and tells me to
listen and I obey him, and I swear it is as if those birds I envy so much are chanting my name, telling
me to go on.
The sun embraces me by wrapping its rays all over my visible skin and the wind tickles me as it

microphone so far away from me it feels so surreal, and a loud bomb that rattles inside my chest. I
speed off, my bare feet hitting the ground with a strong

Romanticism And The Romantic Era
Romanticism was a literary movement that swept through virtually every country of Europe, the
United States, and Latin America that lasted from about 1750 to 1870. This period included
philosophy, art, music, literature. Romantics believed that men and women should not be guided by
rules placed on them by society but led by warm emotions that promoted a sense of freedom. William
Blake was one of the poets that began the Romantic Age who promoted self expression but was
weighed down by the importance and standards of religion. (Forward, 2014) Literary work during
Romanticism had a strong emphasis in implementing nature, emotion over logic, imagination over
reason, and no division between art and literature. These works placed focus on human personality
affected by political and social causes. These became dominant themes in romantic poetry which
made literature much more complex. (Wartz The Romantic Era 1999)
During the same time, the Victorian Era was present in Britain which was stricken with poverty.
Unlike the romanticism era, Victorians did not have much belief and faith in nature because they knew
it would not help diminish poverty and other worldly issues. Though romanticism is very emotional,
Victorian pieces are more complicated and sort of withdrawn. Victorian pieces also focus more on
turning political issues into art and capturing individual experiences. These two eras set the foundation
for artistic styles, literary schools, as well as, social, political and religious movements that flourished.
It was a time of prosperity, broad imperial expansion, and great political reform. Contrasting to that
was the horrible reality of child labor which persisted throughout the period. When a bill was passed
stipulating that children under nine could not work in the textile industry, this in no way applied to
other industries.
In the late eighteenth and nineteenth century, child labor in England was prominent after the Great
Fire of London in 1666. ( Children As Chimney Sweeps In England A Terrible Chapter In History )

familiar with the movie and the stellar cast, it was sheer delight to savor every moment of this
novelization. I am quite honored to share both my review and my interview with everyone today.

Descriptive Experience Of Roller Coasters
#Roller coasters are mainly recognized for the thrill. When I was younger I was always fascinated by
the bright colors that they represented. A variety of rides caught my attention but I was always afraid
to get on the highest roller coasters. From what I remember as a child my family and I visited multiple
amusement parks such as Six Flags, Knott s Berry Farm and Disneyland. All those ravishing places
impacted my curiosity about roller coasters stability. Since I was only an adolescent my curiosity
arbitrary sparked on its own it was only until then when I began to think differently. Although I was
too afraid to ride the highest roller coasters I was primarily curious about the height, velocity, and
thrill excitement.
#One of my main concerns of these rollercoasters was the height they all incorporated with each other.
It appeared to me like skyscrapers left to right in a threesixty circular motion. These roller coasters
were exceedingly high up in the sky something I never understood was who would construct these
enormous attractions. I repeatedly questioned the height of these rides while I stared at them
continuously trying not to panic every time I looked up. Acrophobia is significantly the fear of height,
which I appeared to been having every time I visited an amusement park. My family habitually
attempted to give me motivation so my fear of heights wouldn t make me uncomfortable. In addition,
one of the countless days I visited the parks I saw a young boy around my

Analyzing The Movie The Magnificent Seven
A good majority of us have seen Old westerns before. We ve grown to love and know them so well.
They are relics of how life was in the old west and even more show what we think the old west should
be life. The revitalized western movie The Magnificent Seven is only a remake that shows you
everything you love about a western movie, it does not reinvent or add anything special to the genre.
Usually in a remake movie with up to date actors and even better special effects and editing skills you
would think that it makes the movie better. I ve come to realize now that the old movies we ve all
come to love cannot be made with the same magic a second time. They were for their time and you
lose something when you remake it. For this movie the only thing significantly better was the camera
resolution. Everything else seems to be the same. Especially the epic final battle or in a western movie
it s called the final shoot out. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But to the trained eye you start to notice that there isn t anything special about it. The director of the
film Antoine Fuqua basically just uses an old movie and remakes it with actors that we can connect
with because we ve seen them before. There is a scene in the movie where denzel s character Chisolm
shoots up a saloon and kills for a bounty. Chris Pratt makes his interjection and it s interesting to see
these two different actors act together in a space. The only thing interesting about the whole entire

Performance Enhancing Drugs is a Global Issue
A major issue in today s world is drug in sport. The reason why drug in sport is a global issue is
because many athletes in the world use performance enhancing drugs and influence others to use these
drugs because of their success. An issue is a disagreement between two or more parties in a public
forum. Many people disagree with others about the topic, Drug in sport. Some people believe that
performance enhancing drugs make sport far more interesting and competitive. They believe this
because they love to see records being broken, unbelievable finishes to games and the suspense of
who will win. Other people believe that this does not make sense and that drugs take away from the
meaning from sports. If drugs were to be used in sports then we would not have the special people like
Cristiano Ronaldo and Usain Bolt, two spectacular athletes who work very hard to gain as much
success as possible. Research shows that more people think that drugs should not be used in sport and
I agree with them because without drugs it shows us how important hard work and a good attitude is,
to be successful.
Drug in sport can be classified as a Type I issue. A Type I issue is an issue that occurs locally but
happens globally. Many people in different countries take performance enhancing drugs so that they
can be the best. When they are the best they become idols for almost everyone and huge impact on

In recent decades, many people have sought refugee status and this has caused a lot of discussion on
the issue. Many argue that refugees should not be given priority in gaining entry to democratic
countries, while others believe they should. The purpose of this essay is to point out that democratic
countries should have an obligation to accept refugees. To support this position, the following areas

refugees are under the difficult situation. Thirdly, countries can take advantage of accepting refugees.

Walt Whitman s The Things They Carried
Mankind has always been fascinated with literature throughout history, writing stories of history and
of fantasy. Authors don t start out famous and are sometimes forced to witness mankind s most
abhorred creation, war. Some authors are just journalists who are sent to cover the carnage and some
are not yet authors, but will become authors later in history. It is well known many people change after
witnessing or experiencing war, but if could this influence or change their writing style? Walt
Whitman started journalism in 1841. He founded a weekly newspaper called the Long Islander. In
1865, Whitman published his second edition of Leaves of Grass (poets.org). After the start of the Civil
War had started, Whitman went to Washington because he read his brother s name (George Whitman)
on a casualty list from the battle of Fredericksburg. He arrived in time to find his brother with a small
cut on his face and while there he noticed how terrible the sick and wounded were being treated. He
decided that he will do what he can to help and stayed. After the civil war, Whitman published Drum

  • 2. The Case Against The Fugitive Slave Law Since the spoken word, hundreds of philosophers have defined law in different ways. Philosophy allows people to study the nature of people s beliefs which can differ over time. Not even laws are exempt from the opinions of philosophers. Seeing law in different ways allows people to come to different conclusions about legal cases. The Fugitive Slave Law was a controversial law in American history which allowed slave owners to capture their slaves who have fled north to free states. Once, a group of emancipators in Boston were tried for helping an escaped slave flee to Canada. These emancipators challenged the Fugitive Slave Law in United States v Morris. According to the Fugitive Slave Law, helping an escaped slave is in violation of the law. In this case, the jurors let the emancipators free for helping a slave escape slavery to Canada. This leads to the question Did the jurors in Morris do the right thing? Philosophy gives us the tools to analyze the legality of the juror s actions and answer this question. Natural Law theory, Positivism, Legal Realism, Neo natural law theory, and Paul Butler s theory of law all provide different outlooks to answering this question. Despite having differing beliefs about the role of morality and law, these philosophies all conclude that the jurors in Morris did the right thing. Thomas Aquinas Natural Law theory proves the jurors in Morris did make the right decision. The Natural Law theory discusses our ability to distinguish ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Essay about Introduction of HIPPA Standards for Employees Using the Foundation of Knowledge Model, I would explain to the vice president that knowledge acquisition, which occurs through education and research, occurred in our department during a morning huddle, where HIPPA standards were first introduced to members of our department (McGonigle Mastrian, 2012). Through an introduction of what HIPPA meant for healthcare providers, staff learned that HIPPA meant confidentiality of protected health information ( Health insurance, 2013). This meant staff were to only access patient information for patients they were taking care of and they needed to be cautious with whom and where patient information was discussed. All staff were required to complete a learning module and pass the module and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Knowledge processing is the final step where knowledge is gathered or collected, perceived, transmitted, and stored (McGonigle Mastrian, 2012). Staff gathered information about the importance of HIPPA and the consequences of not following HIPPA. Knowing the importance and consequences and what steps need to be taken to protect patient information, nurses are consciously aware of ways to prevent violation of HIPPA. As new knowledge is acquired, techniques to prevent violation of HIPPA will continue to arise and practice to prevent violation with continue to change to maintain patient privacy. Dear Vice President, I would like to reassure you that my staff are very compliant with HIPPA. Since HIPPA was introduced, staff have completed an annual HIPPA competency and signed a form stating their understanding and willing to comply with HIPPA. It is evident that staff are taking measures to prevent violations of HIPPA. In the hallways if a computer happens to be logged in with no user in sight, staff members passing by will immediately log off the computer. Even though staff are constantly reminded to never keep their computers logged in, there are instances where users are logged in, yet they are no where to be found. We will continue to remind staff of the importance of logging off. With the implementation of bedside reporting and interdisciplinary ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Fantastik Cleaners Executive Summary Fantastik is an all purpose cleaner made by SC Johnson that has two main product lines; the Fantastik Original and the new, more powerful, Fantastik Evergreen. These are not just regular chemically made cleaning products but are 100% environmentally safe. Fantastik is currently the market leader with 37.9% and has an extremely loyal consumer base following the SC Johnson brand but they are currently losing market share due to a lack of positioning by the company. One main advantage Fantastik holds is there is a current trend for consumers being more green conscious which makes the product more attractive. This is why communicating Fantastik s position Clean Green message must be done effectively. There are three ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This leads into the next issue their organization faces, which is their lack of informing the consumers of their product benefits. The Fantastik cleaners are the only ones on the market that are 100% safe for the environment. With such a competitive advantage over their competitors, they have to be able to bridge this communication gap they currently have with consumers, because many of them are unaware of Fantastik s triple bottom line goals. In order to help build brand awareness, they have to advertise more to their target segments. But one of the issues is Fantastik s advertising budget has decreased from $1,375,000 in 2005 to $825,000 in 2006. Fantastik also has the problem of lacking diversity in their product line. Although they have five different cleaners, all of them are fairly similar and many consumers would not be able to tell their differences other than the price. Internal Analysis Financial Position: Currently, Fantastik has a 37.9% dollar share in the all purpose cleaner market in Canada which amounts to $12,128,000 (Figure 2). Using the current retailer mark up of 23%, we can find Fantastik s sales which are 9,860,162.60 (Figure 2). Overall it is difficult to gauge how well Fantastik is doing. Its gross profit after costs of goods sold and discounts is $3,544,065. Since fixed costs are not known, we do not know if Fantastik is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Sonny Corleone s Injustice In The Film, The Godfather The Godfather In the chosen scene, we see Sonny Corleone heading home after an incident where he threatens his brother in law with death if he continues to abuse the sister of Sonny. On his drive back, he stops at a toll booth; however, cars pull up behind him, and to each side boxing him in. The passengers of all 3 vehicles open fire on Sonny resulting in his tragic death. I believe that this scene in particular helps to embody the movie as a whole due to its tragic and violent nature. For instance, earlier in the movie Don Corleon attempts to help his Godson, Johnny Fontane, by influencing an abrasive studio yet through the death of his prized stallion. The pain, the sorrow and the desire for revenge that is reflected in the eyes and faces of the attendees helps to set the stage for the subsequent scenes in the movie where the bombing run on Japan occurs. While I do have to admit that there are an assortment of better scenes in the movie such as the scene where Danny dies and tells Rafe with his last breath that Rafe will be a father or the ending scene where Rafe and his young son ride off in a small plane, the fact remains that these scenes could be attributed to any other fictional movie while the memorial scene truly embodies the spirit of Pearl ... • 6. Summary Of Orientation By Daniel Orozco The short story Orientation by Daniel Orozco is exactly what the title suggests. An orientation of the new office job somebody has just received. However, the story delves much deeper into the lives of several employees at this office. Orozco s employment of somber satire in Orientation displays how alienated a community can become in corporate environments. The way in which Orozco structured this story is very effective to the reader as well. Orozco depicted an office setting that emphasizes regulations and unnecessary procedures, as well as corporate uniformity and bureaucracy. Robots are in and around our jobs at every moment, many believe these just aid in creating jobs, but they may at one point replace us in even the most specialized of tasks. The current idea that the economy is improving and unemployment is at a relative low may be correct but is highly unstable. Soon all of the major industries will fall to the robot revolution, based on their improvements over the previous years, benefits to employers, and several expert predictions. The first thought of countless people pertaining to robots is they will always be more expensive than a human, and see a robot with a price tag of thirty thousand or forty thousand and put very little thought into ... Lee Drutman even went as far as to say both sides are ignoring the problem while at the same time speeding it up. With more and more simple jobs falling only those with high intellectual jobs will prevail; however, not even those jobs are immune, we simply need to review the premise of what we address as work. • 8. Iconography Of Virgin Mary The iconography contained in this painting is religious for the most obvious reasons such as the depiction of the Virgin Mary, baby Jesus, along with the angel holding the Virgin s crown. Also, the capitals that are shown on the left include scenes from the Old Testament which highlight humanity errors. Some of the errors that are depicted are Adam and Eve getting thrown out from the Garden of Eden, the sacrifice of Caine and Abel, God receiving Abel s offering, along with other scenes. Another reason why there is religious iconography can be seen between the positions of the individuals who are being portrayed. For example, the chancellor appears to be kneeling down towards baby Jesus and the Virgin Mary, on one side of the painting you have sacred figures and on the left side you have the chancellor representing the public. ... • 9. Ragamuffin Gospel Reflection I have read 100% of the book in the past and 75% this time (some skimming). What I enjoy most/least about the text. This is the second time I have read The Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning (2005), and I still feel like it is a must read for any Christian. The first time I read this book I remember being awed by God s Grace for ragamuffins and how that relates to my interactions with people; when I showed God s grace, and when I did not. I still remember specific times when God reminded me how much he loved the broken and how I could be his hand outreached by being Jesus with skin on . I also remember specific times when I knew God was directing me to love on someone, and I for one reason or another, I did not. The first time I read Manning s book, I fell more in love with people because it helped get a glimpse of how much God loved a ragamuffin. Now that I am older and life has been harder, I read Manning s book in a different light. Unlike the first time, where I was reminded how much God loves others; this time it reminds me how much God loves me! Even though my faith has faltered, and I have had series of doubts and struggles with trust, God sill loves me. While reading the same words I did several years ago I am seeing things differently. What I learned. During the past year, I have been doing a great deal of stretching . I have sought out help to heal from past hurts and continue to look for ways to restore and grow. He played soccer, but since the school did not have a soccer team, he tried out for the football team as a second string kicker. He is conscious of his small size and football skills, and is not confident that he will even kick the ball straight. This affects him greatly when, at the state championship, David had to kick a fifty one yard field goal in two seconds to win the game after the main kicker is injured. The farthest he had kicked was thirty nine yard field goal, and he argued with Coach Taylor about his idea. The coach encourages him, telling him to do his best. When David got the kicker position, he still didn t think he was good enough to play with the rest of the boys. He thought that he wasn t going to make it before he even kicked the ball. When his father noticed this behavior, he raised both of his hands up straight until David saw him. This small act of belief in David made him do his best in football. David received a lot of support from his coaches, and especially his dad. By the end of the movie, David scored a point for the team that made them win the state championship against the Giants, a team that was twice their size and never lost a game. Biomechanical studies show that maximum compression of the ITB over the lateral femoral condyle occurs at 30 degrees flexion of the knee (Orchard, 1996) hence it has been assumed that the band actually moves over the condyle. MRI findings in a study by Nishimura et al (1997) suggest soft tissue inflammation and /or oedema rather than focal fluid collection. This study also showed no alteration to the structure of the ITB itself, and that the posterior fibres are tighter against the femur. A further study involving cadavers and MRI by Fairclough et al (2006) show ITBS is more likely to be highly innervated fat compression beneath the tract as different parts of the distal ITB come under tension i.e. anterior and posterior sections. One of the commonly quoted conservative interventions for ITBS is massage or more precisely myofascial release techniques (Brukner and Khan, 2006; Chaitow and DeLany, 2002; Pettit and Dolski, 2000). • 14. Friendship Is The True Meaning Of It Friendship, something that we all have but something that we may not really understand the true meaning of it. During the reading Thoreau goes into detail of how friends are really not what we think them to be. We often don t actually have friends but rather just acquaintances or companions. He goes on to explain who are real friends are and why they are our friends and that no one else really is. Thoreau states, What is commonly called friendship even is only a little more honor among rogues (p. 144). This brings attention to that a friendship is slightly more than someone who is dishonest to you. Your friend will only tell the truth once in a while. They do what they believe to be best for you. When we have friends we are only saying they are not our enemy (p. 143). Our friend may not always be someone we get along with greatly but someone whom we do not dishonor. We are not at war with them or out to make their lives inferior. We respect who they are and what they do but only because we are friends with them and not enemies. A friend should be treated no better than I (they) should be (p. 143) says Thoreau. If a man deserves to be treated as one who is disrespectful or dishonest then that is how they shall be treated. • 16. Comparison Between Modern Day Music And Langston Hughes... Comparison of modern day music to Langston Hughes and Paul Laurence Dunbar Poetry has changed over the course of many years and numerous events in history.Music, as well, changed the sound and lyrical meanings due to many events in history. Whether music is poetry or not can be argued, but I believe music is an art represented through sound and lyrics. Music is a form of poetry with a little tune to it. Music has a message to it just as poetry would. Modern day music can reflect on many things, just as poetry sometimes refers to events going on in the world. Many years ago a very controversial topic was the discussion of slavery, and later the inequality of colored men to whites. Popular American poets, Paul Laurence Dunbar and Langston Hughes, are two of the very few who would talk about these controversies. Their poetry consisted of slavery, racial relations and inequality, opportunity, and hope. Their poetry captures the despair and faith in the colored people through all their oppression. Modern day music genre and style of hip hop or rap is a style created by African Americans. Present day rap artists, J Cole and Kendrick Lamar, are two rap artists who have revolutionized music and have become idolized by many African Americans. The two are known for discussing the reality of what it is like being a black man in today s society. The poems of Hughes and Dunbar are very comparable to the songs of Cole and Lamar that discuss oppression, inequality, and hope within black ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In line with the journal, the communist manifesto also brought about the development of the markets in the far Asian regions of China. This accelerated industrialization in the region due to the need to increase production of finished goods for the general population. As a result of the population pressure witnessed in the European region, industrial developments were monopolized and thus their production was insufficient to cater for the ever growing population pressure in the European region. It was due to this that there was the need to revolutionize machinery to cater for the production. Ferry on the other hand is closer to the theory of Niccolo Machiavelli. This purports that the politician must act not as an extension of the electorate, but as their leader, protecting them from the corruptions they see in society (1987[1532] cited Myo 2009). First of all, OF COURSE Christians should try to influence elections... so should everyone else! My concern about the focus is that so often it seems that the Christians Mr. Grudem is trying to influence try to tie their political opinions, policy positions, and those whom they support with their religion. I very rarely see this link as being positive; typically it is short sighted and replaces critical thinking of far sighted potential ramifications of a policy to blind obedience to a faith based system of thought. That is not healthy, and it is certainly not Christianity. So I agree with the principle, but I am reading something sinister between the lines. Paranoia on my part? • 28. Romanticism And The Romantic Era Romanticism was a literary movement that swept through virtually every country of Europe, the United States, and Latin America that lasted from about 1750 to 1870. This period included philosophy, art, music, literature. Romantics believed that men and women should not be guided by rules placed on them by society but led by warm emotions that promoted a sense of freedom. William Blake was one of the poets that began the Romantic Age who promoted self expression but was weighed down by the importance and standards of religion. (Forward, 2014) Literary work during Romanticism had a strong emphasis in implementing nature, emotion over logic, imagination over reason, and no division between art and literature. These works placed focus on human personality affected by political and social causes. These became dominant themes in romantic poetry which made literature much more complex. (Wartz The Romantic Era 1999) During the same time, the Victorian Era was present in Britain which was stricken with poverty. Unlike the romanticism era, Victorians did not have much belief and faith in nature because they knew it would not help diminish poverty and other worldly issues. Though romanticism is very emotional, Victorian pieces are more complicated and sort of withdrawn. Victorian pieces also focus more on turning political issues into art and capturing individual experiences. These two eras set the foundation for artistic styles, literary schools, as well as, social, political and religious movements that flourished. It was a time of prosperity, broad imperial expansion, and great political reform. Contrasting to that was the horrible reality of child labor which persisted throughout the period. When a bill was passed stipulating that children under nine could not work in the textile industry, this in no way applied to other industries. In the late eighteenth and nineteenth century, child labor in England was prominent after the Great Fire of London in 1666.
