Importance Of Extracurricular Activities Essay
Extracurricular Activities: High School and Beyond Despite the belief in extracurricular activities
harming students, they can actually be beneficial. Extracurricular activities benefit students by helping
them learn how to manage their time more efficiently and improve academics; students that participate
in after school activities reap the benefits socially, outside of the classroom, and in their future
endeavors. They help develop students and shape them into who they will become in the future.
Extracurricular activities leave a positive impact on both the students and the school as a whole, and
are essential to the educational experience. Extracurricular activities can help students learn how to
manage their time more efficiently and improve academics. Students must adapt to balancing their
activities and school work appropriately, which helps the student get their homework done on time
and limit procrastination (Jackson). With less time to do homework, students are more conscious
about finishing all their assignments and use what time they do have more efficiently. Students that
participate in extracurricular activities realize they do not have as much time to complete their tasks,
so they compensate by planning out when they will complete their homework, showing responsibility,
and time management ( Why Extracurricular ). Responsibility and good time management are
essential skills that will allow students to be more successful as they grow into adults. According

Reflection About Art
I have never been into art or liked the arts for that matter, I cannot draw to save my life and being
creative with art brings my imagination to a halt. When I saw this project, I wasn t sure what I would
use to help make the art, most people I saw were using metals, but I wanted to do something different
and that made me nervous. But I had an even harder time figuring out what I wanted to create. I had
about a million ideas in my head, but had an extremely hard time looking at things that I found and
picturing them all together becoming a sculpture.
I started out with sticks and paper garbage that I had found around my home and the places where I
walk my dogs. I didn t know what I wanted to do with them, but I felt like they were the material I
wanted to use. After I had gathered enough sticks and pieces of paper that I found on the ground I sat
down and tried to brainstorm what I could make. I came up with the idea of getting the sticks together
in a ball and gluing the trash paper on to create the look of the continents and the sticks be a globe. I
figured out very fast that the sticks would not hold together, even after I soaked them in water. I
ditched that idea and moved on to a new one.
I still had all the garbage that I found and figured I could make good use of that. After ditching the
sticks (not on the ground I put them in my green trash can so they could be picked up and disposed of
properly) I focused on the paper materials that I had picked up. I thought

The Number Of Copper, Magnesium, Iron, Zinc And Hydrogen...
PURPOSE: Ranking the metals copper, magnesium, iron, zinc and hydrogen in terms of their
reactivity.
HYPOTHESIS:
Copper
Cu + HCL → N.R.
Cu + CuCl2 → N.R.
Cu + Mg(NO3)2 → N.R.
Cu + Fe(NO3)3 → N.R.
Cu + Zn(NO3)2 → N.R.
Magnesium
Mg2 + 2HCL → H2 + 2MgCl
Mg + CuCl2 → Cu + MgCl2
Mg + Mg(NO3) → N.R.
Mg + Fe(NO3)3 → Fe + Mg(NO3)3
Mg + Zn(NO3)2 → Zn + Mg(NO3)2
Iron
Fe + HCL → N.R.
Fe + CuCl2 → Cu + FeCl
Fe + Mg(NO3)2 → N.R.
Fe + Fe(NO3)3 → N.R.
Fe + Zn(NO3)2 → N.R.
Zinc
2Zn + 2HCl → H2 + 2ZnCl
Zn + CuCl2 → Cu + ZnCl
Zn + Mg(NO3)2 → N.R.
Zn + Fe(NO3)3 → Fe + Zn(NO3)3
Zn + Zn(NO3)2 → N.R.

We mixed Mg and CuCl2 together and the magnesium began to change due to the reaction. We mixed
Zn and CuCl2 together and saw that the Zinc has began to change it s color due to its reaction. We
mixed Mg, Fe and Zn with Fe(NO3)3 and saw that they all had a reaction and began to change. We
later noticed that Copper hadn t reacted with any of the substances because it didn t change it s color
or form.
CONCLUSIONS:
My hypothesis for Mg + Zn(NO3)2 → Zn + Mg(NO3)2 was incorrect because when we tested it in
the lab we got no reaction and in the equation I had gotten a reaction. For Fe + Fe(NO3)3 → N.R., I
got that there was going to be no reaction but there was when we tested it in the lab. Also, for 2Zn +
2HCl → H2 + 2ZnCl, I got that there was going to be a reaction but there ended up not being one. The
metals from least to most reactive are Mg, Zn, Fe, Cu. My lab results matched exactly to what I
predicted using the metal activity series. The activity series for halogens is Fluorine, Chlorine,
Bromine and

Three Theoretical Approaches to Conselling
This essay will compare and contrast three theoretical approaches to counselling psychoanalysis,
person centered therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).
Underlying assumptions
Psychoanalysis assumes behaviours we display when we are adults are rooted in our childhood
experiences and CBT assumes behaviour as a learned response. Psychoanalysis links childhood event
and associated feelings to current problems which is similar to CBT where many of client s schemas
were created when he was very young and usually stems from childhood too. However, despite the
similarity of involving childhood experiences, psychoanalysis sees an individual as being driven by
unconscious urges but CBT sees an individual s behaviour as a learned response. Person centered
differs from the previous two theories and it assumes clients as previously not being able to have self
actualised. It does not necessarily view an individual as a product of their past experiences.
CBT assumes that the way we feel and behave is determined by how we perceive and structure our
experience, whereas person centered therapy assumes client had various experiences and a personality
is developed as a result of the previous subjective experiences.
Freud s structural model assumes that human psyche is created via the interaction of id, ego and
superego. It also assumes that we are driven by internal biological sexual (Eros) and aggressive
(Thanatos) drives. It is similar to Person centered such that the latter

Why Hong Kong Is a Consultative Government in the First...
Historian G.B. Endacott thought that the Hong Kong government was a consultative government. The
definition of a consultative government is that it consults people s opinions and listens to them. The
features of a consultative Government are that it establishes communication between local
associations, asks and listen to opinion of people, asks for opinion and support in decisions making,
sets up advisory bodies to collect opinions and set up departments to consult people s opinions. To a
large extent, I agree that the Hong Kong government was a consultative government in the first half of
the 20th century. To a small extent, I don t agree that the Hong Kong government was a consultative
government in the 20th century. In the following ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

assisted the government in settling disputes and mediating between the two sides and helped
expressing the inhabitants opinions to the government and represented them in negotiations, fighting
for their rights and interests. Fifth, the Hong Kong government set up department to consult people s
opinions. The Hong Kong government relied on the Secretariat for Chinese Affairs to establish
communication with the Chinese people. The department was established in 1913. It carried out
different functions, involving it in almost all Chinese matters, like receiving complaints from the
Chinese and mediated and settled their disputes. It helped the government in knowing the local
Chinese people well. It assisted the government in liaising with Chinese associations so that it can
understand the public opinions. The department provided the government with information of the
Chinese, for example, the Chinese custom and religious belief, and helped explaining the policies to
the public. It helped the government to gain better understanding from the Chinese, especially before
the Second World War. To a smaller extent, I don t agree that Hong Kong was a consultative
government. First, the Governor was the core of the government at that time. He owned enormous
power, including the executive power, legislative power, appointment power and some other powers.

Osmosis Potato Lab Report
Effects of Osmosis on Potatoes Lab Report
Tristan Dunlop Period 3 12/4/14
Introduction:
Within every cell, a movement of a solvent occurs through a semipermeable membrane to equalize the
concentration of solute on both sides of the membrane. The diffusion of water across the cell s
membrane down to its concentration gradient is called osmosis. In this case, the concentration gradient
is the difference of density between one side of the cell membrane to the other. Since the cell s
membrane is permeable, particles can flow freely in and out of the cell, but the net flow will be strong
in the direction of lower concentration until the system has reached a stage of equilibrium, the point at
which both sides of the membrane are equal. In the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

exactly 1 cm2, but make sure they are very close to that measurement.
Now label the cups with the sharpie and write down your group s name and the concentration of
solutions: 40%, 20%, 10%, 5%, 0%.
Measure the correct amounts of sugar and water into each of the labeled cups. One at a time, place a
cup on the scale and add the sugar directly, but before you do so, hit the button on or zero to restart the

Lh Detection
The systematic review is aimed to determine what methods have been used to identify the presence of
LH in diabetes patients treated with insulin. The result of this review reveals that there is little research
evidence to support the formulation of recommendations regarding the method of detection of LH.
Forty three papers (original articles and conference abstract) were included in the review. Three
detection methods for LH are in current use namely visual inspection, palpation and ultrasound.
Fourteen papers presented use of ultrasound to detect LH and found the prevalence of
LH in the range 14.5 86.5%, compared to thirty one papers using palpation. The prevalence identified
by palpation ranged from 14.5% to 54.9%. The variation in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

However, the current use of ultrasound to detect LH uncovers the need for further research, to build up
a scientific foundation for such methods. Strengths and Limitations of the study
This is the first systematic review focusing on LH in diabetes people treated with insulin. A specific
search strategy was design and and a rigorous approach to the literature search and critical appraisal
was followed. It included all published full papers and conference abstracts found in the four major
databases in medical and nursing science, with no limitations on time of publication nor language. It
also included cases from both type I and type 2 diabetes. It covered different study designs and
encompassed research in five continents. The review includes patients using pump, syringe or pen.
The major limitation was the inadequate information due to limited published articles about LH
related to diabetes. Furthermore, the quality of most papers was moderate to low. Forty percent of
material was conference abstracts and case studies, reducing the information content and overall
quality. Removing low quality studies would have caused an incomplete description of

Hundreds of millions of years ago, back when the Rhodigai Federation had barely made it out of its

The transformation she proposed entailed turning these moons from balls of dust and ice with thin
excuses for atmospheres into full on habitable worlds on which for life to flourish. Keep in mind that
up to that point, the Rhodigai had only seriously dealt with planets and moons that were already
habitable, aside from mining

The Clanton Gang Essay
In the middle and late part of the nineteenth century, the West was a harsh and dangerous place to live.
Bar fights and murders were being committed in every town. This was acceptable behavior however in
those days. Men settled their problems face to face, and normally, the slower man ended up dead.
Gunfighting in the West was started and carried on by a group of men known as the Clanton Gang.
Old Man Clanton was the leader and founder of gunfighting, his sons carried some of his fights and
continued with their own fights, and his last surviving son parted with gunfighting and started his own
successful business.
Gunfights were common and took place regularly. The earliest gunfighters, or ... Show more content

Leigh Syndrome Essay
The first reported case of LS occurred when Denis Archibald Leigh examined a baby boy who
displayed symptoms similar to that of Wernicke s, description of W (new source) . Before the child
passed, he exhibited child: development regression, somnolence, bulbar palsy, spasticity lims. (JNNP)
.It was only after the child had passed, that Leigh Syndrome, LS, was confirmed through a close
examination of his tissue, as there was no other effective way to confirm LS up until modern
technology began to develop. (JNNP).
Leigh Syndrome is a neurological disorder that occurs throughout the early stages of childhood
(Wiley) In infancy, symptoms may include severe vomiting and respiratory issues, as well as failure to
thrive (USEFUL). LS in infants causes death in up to 75% of those affected, by the time they are two
or three years old they experience critical organ failure (SOLACE). And as much as 25% of LS
affected people survive past their childhood which is rare but possible (SOLAC).
Symptoms of an affected person include but are not limited to ( decreasing mental and motor function
) (Useful) LS attacks the brainstem which results in the loss of ( respiratory problems, nystagmus,

International A Membership Based Consumer Service
CENDANT
On December 17th 1997 CUC International a membership based consumer service company focused
on giving people access to discounts on travel, shopping, etc. and HFC Incorporated a large hotel
franchiser merged together and became Cendant. CUC International lead by Walter Forbes
deliberately and fictitiously made the company more than $500 million fictional revenue, which in
effect led to one of the biggest fraud cases of the 1990 s. This is a very interesting fraud case and one
that forced the accounting and auditing standard setters to review some of their standards, which is
something I ll talk about more later on.
The fraud was very simple at its base; the idea was to allow the employees of CUC International and
later Cendant to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

board of director s attention.
What was going on internally at CUC International and later at Cendant was known to many
employees, these people held different positions from managers all the way up to the CEO Walter
Forbes and it was in fact two managers that came forward and brought all of this out to the open and
their names were Casper Sabatino and Steven Speaks. They contacted the CFO of Cendant
Mr.Monaco and explained to him the breathtaking fraud. And it was Mr.Monaco who delivered this
news to Cendant s Chief Executive Henry R. Silverman. Those two men were the whistleblowers that
brought Cendant to its knees. As mentioned in the sworn affidavits the managers explained what was
happening at Cendant, they said that they were told to record millions of dollars of orders that never
occurred and were told to do what was necessary in order to increase the income on the books and
decrease the expanses. In their statements they named two people whom have been responsible for

The Importance Of Popular Religion
Popular religion over time has become very common, especially with how much our society focuses
on treating ordinary things as if they are religiously significant to our life. According to Robert
Ellwood, Popular religion can be considered a sector and a very important sector of popular culture.
Two forms of popular religion present themselves: the mainstream religion it is understood and
practiced on the popular level, and religious meaning embedded in ostensibly nonreligious popular
culture, such as making pop culture entertainers or cinematic heroes into religious icons (131).
Baseball has become a huge example of this. Last year, for the first time in 108 years, the Cubs won
the World Series. When this happened, the whole city of Chicago celebrated immensely for this huge
honor given to them.
The Cubs were rewarded for winning the series by being granted a parade in the city of Chicago.
Many things about the parade influenced religious significance. When it comes to religion, individuals
are given certain holidays to celebrate important days. For example, Christmas is a holiday that
celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. Usually, adults are given off work, while children are given a
break from school to celebrate this day. This is how the parade was treated. The entire city of Chicago
gave students the day off to be able to go to the parade, although this day is not a holiday at all. The
parade is like a ritual in religion, because of all the things Chicago did that

Dipylon Krater
I will be responding on art from Ancient Greece. Firstly, Geometric Art. It is a period when figured
painting returned back to Greece. This art includes Dipylon Krater, it is one of the old example from
this art. The krater s surface was covered with precisely painted abstract angular motifs in horizontal
bands. There are human figures, animals, and furniture are as two dimensional as the geometric shapes
elsewhere on the vessel. I think Geometric artists revived the art of storytelling in pictures. In addition
to this there was Herakles and Nessos, it was one of the most impressive Geometric art. This statuette
depicts a hero battling a centaur an early example of mythological narrative. In this art there is a figure
of humans of which both have beards and wear helmets, but the man is larger than the horse to
indicate that he will be the victor. The Egypt style was not good enough for Greeks, therefore, they
used real human bodies for art. They studied everything in detail about human body. The artist used to
create creativity and produce those which was ever produced in history of civilization. One of the
example of this is kritios boy. It is the first statue to show how a person naturally stands. The sculptor
depicted the weight shift from one leg to the other. The head turns slightly, and the Archaic smile is

Manifesto Of The Communist Party
The Communist Manifesto, originally drafted as, Manifesto of the Communist Party , is a pamphlet
written by Karl Marx, that in essence reflects an attempt to explain the goals and objectives of
Communism, while also explaining the concrete theories about the nature of society in relation to the
political ideology. The Communist Manifesto breaks down the relationship of socio economic classes
and specifically identifies the friction between those classes. Karl Marx essentially presents a well
analyzed understanding of class struggles and the issues concerning capitalism, the means and modes
of production and how those means affect the classes as a whole.
Every society is structured or designed with the intention to form social classes; classes that will
determine the social mobility of each individual living within it. Within the social hierarchy, there is
inevitably one class that essentially oppresses the others. The Communist Manifesto features The
Bourgeoisie and The Proletarians, and explains that the relationship between the two classes is a
common frictional relationship that has occurred countless times throughout history. It explains that
the modern Bourgeoisie will eventually fall, due to their inability to maintain a lifestyle for the
proletarians; which is ultimately caused by the instability of capitalism.
The goals of Communism are clearly set forward in the process. Marx informs us that Communism is
established to achieve 3 major things: to solidly form

Extensive Reading Essay
Extensive reading can prove to be beneficial to learners if they are exposed to it since a young age in
Mauritius. For instance it can be said that there is a poor reading culture in Mauritius. It cannot be
ignored that some students do like reading but if an Extensive Reading Programme was introduced
then it could motivate more learners to read. The benefits of reading a lot should be made clear to
learners so that they can develop the habit to read. As a hypothesis, extensive reading and extensive
reading programmes are good ideas, but when actually operating it, it could be demanding. This essay
will focus on the advantages of reading abundantly and the challenges of implementing the
programme with the support of examples.
Reading bountifully brings along a number of benefits, one of which is vocabulary acquisition. The
gaining of lexicons is one of the most known pros. As Anderson (1996) and Ching Yin Leung (2002)
pointed out, extensive reading helps in acquiring vocabulary. By reading lot learners are exposed to
more and more words, thus they learn about new words as they see them often and in different
contexts. This in turn enhances their grammar and terminology as well as learners will learn about the
structures. Studies for example, Renandya (2001) have shown positive results of gains in ... Show

while most students are in favor of extensive reading and the implementation of the programme, three
of them thought that extensive reading was not a good idea and eleven categorized it as too much
work (p.33). This shows that different students have different views on reading. I think that many
students in Mauritius are not brought up with a reading culture. They do read but not extensively.
Most of them read because they need to. Extensive reading programme might have a negative

navigate varying terrain. Scientists and engineers are often trying to make smaller and more mobile
robots as seen in the 3cm long RoACH robot (Hoover, 2008), and the DASH (Birkmeyer, 2009) and
iSprawl (Kim, 2006) robots which can reach speeds of up to 15 body lengths a second. A common
method to make robots smaller is to reduce the amount of actuators a robot has to both reduce the size
of the robot and the weight but this has a negative effect on the robots mobility. The smaller robots
become the less mobility they come to have and so in an effort to make robots more ... Show more

This project also deals with the use of inertial appendages in under actuated miniature robots. An
inertial appendage in the form of a tail was added to a robot to study the effects a tail would have on
dynamic steering. Tails can contribute to steering through either a shift in the robots center of mass or
through the transfer of angular momentum. The goal of this study is to provide a model of a legged
robot that successfully uses an inertial tail for faster and sharper turns. Other factors that can affect the
robots movement are also studied such as changing the tail s inertia, the friction between the robot and
the surface, and motor input voltage. There are also two types of tails that will be tested and
compared, a symmetric tail with weights on either side, and an asymmetric tail with half the length
and a weight only on one side. The symmetric tail separates the effect of changing the robots center of
mass as the system is still balanced but the asymmetric tail changes the robots center of mass which
may prove either detrimental or beneficial to the robots mobility.
History of Inertial Appendages The idea of inertial appendages first stemmed from a proposal in 1969
by a paleontologist who said that theropod dinosaurs had tails which acted as dynamic stabilizers
during rapid or irregular movements. (Libby, 2012) This led to the discovery that other animals such
as lizards and cats have been known to use their tails to self right their bodies in free fall.

Essay on Poetry Analysis
In the poem An Echo Sonnet , author Robert Pack writes of a conversation between a person s voice
and its echo. With the use of numerous literary techniques, Pack is able to enhance the meaning of the
poem: that we must depend on ourselves for answers because other opinions are just echoes of our
own ideas.
At first glance, the reader notices that the poem is divided into two parts in order to resemble a
conversation. When reading the sonnet for the first time the reader may make the mistake in thinking
that what the echo replies is an answer to the questions the voice asks. But in reality the echo isn t
replying to the voice but is actually performing its normal job. The echo only repeats back the last
prominent sounds ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This occurs on line 5, where the author depends on imagery to enlighten us. The line reads leaf
blooms, burns red before delighted eyes , the blooming or opening of leaves is a direct parallel to
humans opening up their minds in order to learn something new. But at the end of the line we notice
that the leaf itself dies, the poet uses the dying leaf as a parallel to our former ideas dying. Because our
minds were opened up to something new, whatever former opinion we had died off when new
information on a subject is presented. This is just one part of the learning process so Pack separates it
from the other parts with the use of a comma. After the comma, comes the action of understanding the
information presented to us. Whatever the reader sees is burning red and their eyes are left delighted
which means the onlooker took interest to what they saw developing before them. Pack uses this line
filled with imagery in order to set a precedent to his readers. He wants us to open our minds to the
meaning of the poem and that fact we can find all answers in our own questions if we only depend on
ourselves.
While reading the poem a second time over the audience notices a very controlled rhyme scheme. The
poem consists of a rhyme scheme of A,B,A,B,C,D,C,D ... until we reach the last two lines of the poem
where Line 13 rhymes directly with Line 14. It is worth to note that the author doesn t follow through
to the end with

The Effects Of Post Olympic Games On The Olympics
Bubble economy is the third reason of the valley effect of post Olympic Games. Before the Olympics,
many tourists and company go into the Olympic host country to consume. They will largely promote
this country s development of the construction industry, tourism, services, retail and other industries.
Especially in tourism, the Olympic Games will bring numerous tourists for host city, and these tourists
will consume in the city, and these tourists need pay for food, accommodation, transport, purchase
goods and souvenirs and, some companies and people also will consider purchasing real estate in the
Olympic Village. However, after the end of the Olympics, these tourists will leave the Olympic host
country gradually, causing tourists and consumers reduce in the Olympic host city and the economic
markets shrink.
Because of the above reasons when the Olympics begin, the host country have a considerable
economic development, the construction industry, tourism, services, retail and other industries go into
a few peak. But after the Olympics, consumers leave the city, which lead to a rapid decline of the
economy development. Thus the lacking of consumer lead to a number of economic and social
problems, such as unemployment, poor sales of goods, tourism slump, the real estate bubble.
Especially in tourism, the influence of Olympic economy bubble is the most serious for tourism. A
report from The European Tour Operators Association (ETOA) shows some information. After the

If these occurrences takes place on a regular basis, the company may rethink about having employees
telecommute. Company rules should be explained in detail and very carefully so there will not be any
misunderstandings. * * * Inspiring team members * The employee has been on the job for several
weeks. They have completed training successfully and have settled into the job. You remember the
skills and previous jobs from reviewing their resume. You are aware this employee has other options.
How do you inspire them to stay with your company? Does the company provide any bonuses or
incentives? Do they promote from within? Remote employees should be afforded the same
recognition as workers that are in an actual office even spotting minor accomplishments may keep
your co workers engaged. If a teleworker went over and beyond their job duties to assist a teammate
on a project, recognize their efforts with emails to the staff, and ensure they receive a copy of the
group email (Munroe, 2014). * Everyone is not cut out to be a remote worker. People who are self
starters, savvy with the computer and do not have many distractions are prone to do well with a
telecommuting job. When interviewing someone for this position. It should be emphasized that
distractions will not be tolerated. Also employees should have a place that is dedicated for their office.

Cathy Torrez Murder
The Power of Murder
Family members or people close to the victim cause 80% of murders, according to the FBI s
Expanded Homicide Data. Out of this awfully big number, a victim is Cathy Torrez. Based on an
episode of a show on NBC called Dateline, Cathy Torrez was a smart, humble, and very determined
person who had a bright future ahead of her. All her dreams and hopes were unfortunately destroyed
when her ex boyfriend Sam Lopez killed her due jealousy (About). Sam planned to meet Cathy after
work and Cathy, of course, attended their meeting. At the meeting, Sam noticed a hickey on her neck.
That hickey angered him as it was from another man Cathy had been seeing. His jealousy turned into
rage as he stabbed Cathy to her death. When Cathy was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That fan is known to be Yolanda Saldívar, who was the president of Selena s fan club, was an
employee of Selena s businesses, and was close to her like a personal assistant or some may say best
friend. Yolanda had a big obsession for Selena that she dedicated a shrine to her (Hewitt). Selena had
no problem with Yolanda and actually loved and appreciated all that Yolanda did for her. That was
until Selena discovered, Yolanda had embezzled more than $60,000 from the fan club and boutiques
(Fernandez). Selena was mad that Yolanda had stolen money from her and what angered her was that
Yolanda denied it. As a result of this Yolanda was fired. This, however, did not stop Yolanda as she
had easy accesses to all of Selena s businesses and most importantly her personal life. She knew
Selena s strengths and weakness and this helped her manipulate Selena. The way she manipulated
Selena to her death was, Yolanda was fired, but still held some financial paperwork for the stores. That
s why Selena arranged a meeting, at the Days Inn, where at 11:48 a.m. (CST), Yolanda shot Selena on
the shoulder (Fernandez). The fact that Yolanda was able to make Selena attend their meeting shows
her manipulation, as she was smart to keep important paperwork that would force Selena to come get
it back from her. Yolanda having that paperwork caused an argument between them that led Yolanda to

Difference Between Pharmacy And Clinical Pharmacy
Retail vs. Clinical Pharmacy
Options abound in the field of pharmacy. Two popular paths in pharmacy are clinical (or hospital)
pharmacy and retail (or community) pharmacy. Retail pharmacists work either at a pharmacy in a
store or at an independently owned pharmacy, while clinical pharmacists work directly with
physicians and patients in a hospital or other health care facility ( What Pharmacists Do ). Both
clinical and retail pharmacy jobs have their specific benefits and drawbacks, but retail pharmacy is
more advantageous to a recent pharmacy graduate pursuing this career.
Retail pharmacy involves less stress than clinical pharmacy. In retail, the pharmacist s main task is
issuing medication to customers ( What Pharmacists Do ). They stock and label medications, fill
prescriptions, direct customers about the use of the drugs, give them general medical advice, and
answer questions they might have about over the counter medicine ( What Pharmacists Do ).
Likewise, clinical pharmacists work with customers, which are in this case the patients, but they also
interact personally with doctors; in the hospital, some pharmacists may even go on patient rounds with
them ( What Pharmacists Do ). Clinical pharmacy entails consulting with doctors about medications
and recommending a course of action, not just filling prescriptions ( What Pharmacists Do ). Both
clinical and retail pharmacy jobs require patience and a love for helping people, but a clinical position
may be more stressful

Dream Should Be Seen As A Prophecy
Dreaming is something that everyone does, even if you don t remember it. Throughout history there
have been many theories about dreams. One of them was that dream should be seen as a message
coming from outside individual, mostly from God like creatures. And another theory is that dream
should be seen as a prophecy, being able to tell us what awaits for us in the future. These theories are
prescientific so today we don t view dreams this way. Freud then came along and proposed that
dreams reflect a conflict between the unconscious desires and the conscious mind. So, dreams are
mostly an expression of unconscious wishes as well as being sleep preserving (Olsen, 2016, p. 159).
Despite all these theories of what dreams are, what is the actual reason we have dreams, why do we
remember some and forget some, and what are lucid dreams?
What Causes Dreaming In the 1970s, a man named John Hobson developed a theory called the
activation synthesis theory. It explain that dreams are fabricated by the cortex as a means of
interpreting chaotic signals from the pond. In other words dreams have no meaning and they are
merely a result of a random chemical messaging in the brain coming from the brainstem. (Olsen,
2016, p. 159). However, a man named Mark Solms later disprove the activation synthesis theory
showing that even in patients who have damaged their brain stems, they still have dreams. So it ruled
out Hobson s hypothesis that dreams originate from the brain stem. Rapid eye

Plagiarism Essay
Plagiarism. We do it everyday. But most people don t even know that they do it. Plagiarism is the act
of taking the work or a idea of someone else, and passing it off as your own (Webster). Now, there are
two main types of plagiarism: intentional and unintentional. Intentional plagiarism is when someone
copies words, ideas, or phrases and purposefully pass it off as their own, all without giving credit to
the correct source. On the other hand, unintentional plagiarism is when someone cites poorly, or if
they didn t know that someone else had an idea, and they pass it off as their own, thinking they were
the first to come up with it. The issue with plagiarism and the United States, is whether or not America
plagiarized democracy. To know ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each state will have a certain number of representatives, and also pay direct taxes, on the basis of
population size (US Constitution 1 2). This excerpt from the US Constitution talks a lot about power
being divided in the government, by having three different branches, judicial, executive, and
legislative. The judiciary is the Supreme Court, which is addressed about later in the US Constitution,
the executive is the president, and the legislative is the Senate and the House of Representatives. They
also talk about power being divided in the Declaration of Independence. In the Declaration of
Independence it states Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the
consent of the governed...He has obstructed the Administration of Justice...He has dissolved
Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the
people (Declaration of Independence). It doesn t directly state it, because the Declaration of
Independence talks about how the king of England is unfair, and how he rules poorly. When they state
what the king is doing wrong, the reader can infer that the US will do the opposite. So, when they say
that the king is dissolving the Representative Houses, the reader can assume that the US will not
dissolve the Representative Houses repeatedly like the king previously did. However, famous foreign
documents talked about power being divided way before the US did. For

The Sting
John Dawn II
Professor Hesse
ENGL 101
21 October 2013
The Sting The mind produces thoughts constantly, even when you do not look at them. When you
know what is going on in your mind, you call it consciousness. This is your waking state your
consciousness shifts from sensation, from perception to perception, from idea to idea, in endless
succession. Then comes awareness, the direct insight into the whole of the consciousness, the entirety
of the mind. The mind is like a river, flowing constantly in the bed of the body; you identify yourself
for a moment with some particular ripple and call it: my thought. Awareness is primordial; it is the
original state, endless, uncaused, and without change. There can be no consciousness ... Show more

The extinction of nature leaves us little opportunity to get in direct contact with nature. Luckily, while
growing up at the same house that I am still at now in Corona del Mar is where I got to experience
most of my first direct contacts with nature. Whether it is trying to help my mom garden, catching
snails for a penny each, or observing the natural beauty of the bright colored blossoming flowers, I
immersed myself in nature. Whenever these gorgeous flowers blossomed all the way, I use to walk
straight up to the flower and grasp a part of the stem with my right hand that didn t have to many
thorns. Once I grasped the stem firmly is when I would close my eyes to block off my other senses to
focus solely on the intense smell of the aromatic flower. As I did this, I would draw the flower closer
to my face to inhale that intoxicating amazing smell that all beauty cosmetic companies want to bottle
up for buyers. This was my usual routine how I sniffed flowers as a kid until one day I got a rude
awakening. I was going to smell a flower just like I usually did so I dipped my face straight into one
of these blossoming flowers only to receive a painful unpleasant experience of direct contact with
nature from a bee pollinating the flower that stung my nose. After experiencing this pain, I did what I
would think many kids would do,

Off-Season Training Plan
At sight of sweaty athletes pushing a bar up and down against their chest. Some stand puking over a
trash can because the workout was so intense. Those are the sights and sounds of the hard work that
goes into off season training. After the season ends athletes will then start their off season workout
plan or training routine. Training for football occurs all year round; however, training in season and
off season differ significantly through their intensity, dieting, and overall goal. An Offseason workout

Prolonged practices and extensive team meetings take up most of the athletes time to workout or train
during the busy season. As a result, an athlete may start to lose some weight and strength that they
gained during the off season period of training. A clear difference can be seen in the overall goal of in
season training compared to off season training. Maintaining strength rather than trying to build
strength during the season can prevent an athlete from the effects of overtraining. Generally an athlete
should focus on maintaining strength and staying flexible during the physically demanding load of the
season. All in all off season training is more taxing whereas in season training centers around
maintaining strength and energy as well as the flexibility of the athlete. Training for football occurs all

Social Process Theory
The Social Process Theory states that criminal behavior is a function of a socialization process.
Including of course the socio psychological interaction by the offender with institutions and social
organizations. This theory suggests that offenders turn to crime as a result of peer pressure, family
problems, poor school performance, legal entanglements and other situations that eventually steers
them towards criminal behaviors. Social Process theory also says that anyone can become a criminal,
regardless of their background. The main support and research of this theory comes from the effect of
the family on adolescents who engaged in delinquency or violent behaviors.
Researchers think there is a link between childhood experiences of violence ... Show more content on

anyone can commit crime, regardless of where you ve been or what you ve seen. The Social Process

either keeping us on the right path or we are continuing to fall into the cycle like the ones around us or

  • 3. Importance Of Extracurricular Activities Essay Extracurricular Activities: High School and Beyond Despite the belief in extracurricular activities harming students, they can actually be beneficial. Extracurricular activities benefit students by helping them learn how to manage their time more efficiently and improve academics; students that participate in after school activities reap the benefits socially, outside of the classroom, and in their future endeavors. They help develop students and shape them into who they will become in the future. Extracurricular activities leave a positive impact on both the students and the school as a whole, and are essential to the educational experience. Extracurricular activities can help students learn how to manage their time more efficiently and improve academics. Students must adapt to balancing their activities and school work appropriately, which helps the student get their homework done on time and limit procrastination (Jackson). With less time to do homework, students are more conscious about finishing all their assignments and use what time they do have more efficiently. Students that participate in extracurricular activities realize they do not have as much time to complete their tasks, so they compensate by planning out when they will complete their homework, showing responsibility, and time management ( Why Extracurricular ). Responsibility and good time management are essential skills that will allow students to be more successful as they grow into adults. According ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Reflection About Art I have never been into art or liked the arts for that matter, I cannot draw to save my life and being creative with art brings my imagination to a halt. When I saw this project, I wasn t sure what I would use to help make the art, most people I saw were using metals, but I wanted to do something different and that made me nervous. But I had an even harder time figuring out what I wanted to create. I had about a million ideas in my head, but had an extremely hard time looking at things that I found and picturing them all together becoming a sculpture. I started out with sticks and paper garbage that I had found around my home and the places where I walk my dogs. I didn t know what I wanted to do with them, but I felt like they were the material I wanted to use. After I had gathered enough sticks and pieces of paper that I found on the ground I sat down and tried to brainstorm what I could make. I came up with the idea of getting the sticks together in a ball and gluing the trash paper on to create the look of the continents and the sticks be a globe. I figured out very fast that the sticks would not hold together, even after I soaked them in water. I ditched that idea and moved on to a new one. I still had all the garbage that I found and figured I could make good use of that. After ditching the sticks (not on the ground I put them in my green trash can so they could be picked up and disposed of properly) I focused on the paper materials that I had picked up. I thought ... We mixed Mg and CuCl2 together and the magnesium began to change due to the reaction. We mixed Zn and CuCl2 together and saw that the Zinc has began to change it s color due to its reaction. We mixed Mg, Fe and Zn with Fe(NO3)3 and saw that they all had a reaction and began to change. We later noticed that Copper hadn t reacted with any of the substances because it didn t change it s color or form.
  • 6. CONCLUSIONS: My hypothesis for Mg + Zn(NO3)2 → Zn + Mg(NO3)2 was incorrect because when we tested it in the lab we got no reaction and in the equation I had gotten a reaction. For Fe + Fe(NO3)3 → N.R., I got that there was going to be no reaction but there was when we tested it in the lab. Also, for 2Zn + 2HCl → H2 + 2ZnCl, I got that there was going to be a reaction but there ended up not being one. The metals from least to most reactive are Mg, Zn, Fe, Cu. My lab results matched exactly to what I predicted using the metal activity series. The activity series for halogens is Fluorine, Chlorine, Bromine and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Three Theoretical Approaches to Conselling This essay will compare and contrast three theoretical approaches to counselling psychoanalysis, person centered therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). Underlying assumptions Psychoanalysis assumes behaviours we display when we are adults are rooted in our childhood experiences and CBT assumes behaviour as a learned response. Psychoanalysis links childhood event and associated feelings to current problems which is similar to CBT where many of client s schemas were created when he was very young and usually stems from childhood too. However, despite the similarity of involving childhood experiences, psychoanalysis sees an individual as being driven by unconscious urges but CBT sees an individual s behaviour as a learned response. Person centered differs from the previous two theories and it assumes clients as previously not being able to have self actualised. It does not necessarily view an individual as a product of their past experiences. CBT assumes that the way we feel and behave is determined by how we perceive and structure our experience, whereas person centered therapy assumes client had various experiences and a personality is developed as a result of the previous subjective experiences. Freud s structural model assumes that human psyche is created via the interaction of id, ego and superego. It also assumes that we are driven by internal biological sexual (Eros) and aggressive (Thanatos) drives. It is similar to Person centered such that the latter ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Why Hong Kong Is a Consultative Government in the First... Historian G.B. Endacott thought that the Hong Kong government was a consultative government. The definition of a consultative government is that it consults people s opinions and listens to them. The features of a consultative Government are that it establishes communication between local associations, asks and listen to opinion of people, asks for opinion and support in decisions making, sets up advisory bodies to collect opinions and set up departments to consult people s opinions. To a large extent, I agree that the Hong Kong government was a consultative government in the first half of the 20th century. The Heung Yee Kuk N.T. acted as a statutory advisory body concerning the New Territories. It assisted the government in settling disputes and mediating between the two sides and helped expressing the inhabitants opinions to the government and represented them in negotiations, fighting for their rights and interests. Fifth, the Hong Kong government set up department to consult people s opinions. The Hong Kong government relied on the Secretariat for Chinese Affairs to establish communication with the Chinese people. The department was established in 1913. It carried out different functions, involving it in almost all Chinese matters, like receiving complaints from the Chinese and mediated and settled their disputes. It helped the government in knowing the local Chinese people well. It assisted the government in liaising with Chinese associations so that it can understand the public opinions. The department provided the government with information of the Chinese, for example, the Chinese custom and religious belief, and helped explaining the policies to the public. It helped the government to gain better understanding from the Chinese, especially before the Second World War. To a smaller extent, I don t agree that Hong Kong was a consultative government. • 9. Osmosis Potato Lab Report Effects of Osmosis on Potatoes Lab Report Tristan Dunlop Period 3 12/4/14 Introduction: Within every cell, a movement of a solvent occurs through a semipermeable membrane to equalize the concentration of solute on both sides of the membrane. The diffusion of water across the cell s membrane down to its concentration gradient is called osmosis. In this case, the concentration gradient is the difference of density between one side of the cell membrane to the other. Since the cell s membrane is permeable, particles can flow freely in and out of the cell, but the net flow will be strong in the direction of lower concentration until the system has reached a stage of equilibrium, the point at which both sides of the membrane are equal. The result of this review reveals that there is little research evidence to support the formulation of recommendations regarding the method of detection of LH. Forty three papers (original articles and conference abstract) were included in the review. Three detection methods for LH are in current use namely visual inspection, palpation and ultrasound. Fourteen papers presented use of ultrasound to detect LH and found the prevalence of LH in the range 14.5 86.5%, compared to thirty one papers using palpation. However, the current use of ultrasound to detect LH uncovers the need for further research, to build up a scientific foundation for such methods. Strengths and Limitations of the study This is the first systematic review focusing on LH in diabetes people treated with insulin. A specific search strategy was design and and a rigorous approach to the literature search and critical appraisal was followed. It included all published full papers and conference abstracts found in the four major databases in medical and nursing science, with no limitations on time of publication nor language. It also included cases from both type I and type 2 diabetes. It covered different study designs and encompassed research in five continents. The review includes patients using pump, syringe or pen. The major limitation was the inadequate information due to limited published articles about LH related to diabetes. Furthermore, the quality of most papers was moderate to low. Forty percent of material was conference abstracts and case studies, reducing the information content and overall quality. • 12. The Clanton Gang Essay In the middle and late part of the nineteenth century, the West was a harsh and dangerous place to live. Bar fights and murders were being committed in every town. This was acceptable behavior however in those days. Men settled their problems face to face, and normally, the slower man ended up dead. Gunfighting in the West was started and carried on by a group of men known as the Clanton Gang. • 17. The Importance Of Popular Religion Popular religion over time has become very common, especially with how much our society focuses on treating ordinary things as if they are religiously significant to our life. According to Robert Ellwood, Popular religion can be considered a sector and a very important sector of popular culture. Two forms of popular religion present themselves: the mainstream religion it is understood and practiced on the popular level, and religious meaning embedded in ostensibly nonreligious popular culture, such as making pop culture entertainers or cinematic heroes into religious icons (131). Baseball has become a huge example of this. Last year, for the first time in 108 years, the Cubs won the World Series. When this happened, the whole city of Chicago celebrated immensely for this huge honor given to them. The Cubs were rewarded for winning the series by being granted a parade in the city of Chicago. Many things about the parade influenced religious significance. When it comes to religion, individuals are given certain holidays to celebrate important days. For example, Christmas is a holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. Usually, adults are given off work, while children are given a break from school to celebrate this day. This is how the parade was treated. The entire city of Chicago gave students the day off to be able to go to the parade, although this day is not a holiday at all. • 18. Dipylon Krater I will be responding on art from Ancient Greece. Firstly, Geometric Art. It is a period when figured painting returned back to Greece. This art includes Dipylon Krater, it is one of the old example from this art. The krater s surface was covered with precisely painted abstract angular motifs in horizontal bands. There are human figures, animals, and furniture are as two dimensional as the geometric shapes elsewhere on the vessel. I think Geometric artists revived the art of storytelling in pictures. In addition to this there was Herakles and Nessos, it was one of the most impressive Geometric art. This statuette depicts a hero battling a centaur an early example of mythological narrative. In this art there is a figure of humans of which both have beards and wear helmets, but the man is larger than the horse to indicate that he will be the victor. The Egypt style was not good enough for Greeks, therefore, they used real human bodies for art. They studied everything in detail about human body. The artist used to create creativity and produce those which was ever produced in history of civilization. One of the example of this is kritios boy. • 19. Manifesto Of The Communist Party The Communist Manifesto, originally drafted as, Manifesto of the Communist Party , is a pamphlet written by Karl Marx, that in essence reflects an attempt to explain the goals and objectives of Communism, while also explaining the concrete theories about the nature of society in relation to the political ideology. The Communist Manifesto breaks down the relationship of socio economic classes and specifically identifies the friction between those classes. Karl Marx essentially presents a well analyzed understanding of class struggles and the issues concerning capitalism, the means and modes of production and how those means affect the classes as a whole. Every society is structured or designed with the intention to form social classes; classes that will determine the social mobility of each individual living within it. Within the social hierarchy, there is inevitably one class that essentially oppresses the others. The Communist Manifesto features The Bourgeoisie and The Proletarians, and explains that the relationship between the two classes is a common frictional relationship that has occurred countless times throughout history. It explains that the modern Bourgeoisie will eventually fall, due to their inability to maintain a lifestyle for the proletarians; which is ultimately caused by the instability of capitalism. The goals of Communism are clearly set forward in the process. Marx informs us that Communism is established to achieve 3 major things: to solidly form ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The benefits of reading a lot should be made clear to learners so that they can develop the habit to read. As a hypothesis, extensive reading and extensive reading programmes are good ideas, but when actually operating it, it could be demanding. This essay will focus on the advantages of reading abundantly and the challenges of implementing the programme with the support of examples. Reading bountifully brings along a number of benefits, one of which is vocabulary acquisition. The gaining of lexicons is one of the most known pros. As Anderson (1996) and Ching Yin Leung (2002) pointed out, extensive reading helps in acquiring vocabulary. By reading lot learners are exposed to more and more words, thus they learn about new words as they see them often and in different contexts. This in turn enhances their grammar and terminology as well as learners will learn about the structures. Studies for example, Renandya (2001) have shown positive results of gains in ... • 22. Increasing Mobility of Micro-robotics Essay Chapter Two The Review of the Related Literature Introduction Micro robotics is a field that stresses mobility from being able to fit in tight spaces to being able to navigate varying terrain. Scientists and engineers are often trying to make smaller and more mobile robots as seen in the 3cm long RoACH robot (Hoover, 2008), and the DASH (Birkmeyer, 2009) and iSprawl (Kim, 2006) robots which can reach speeds of up to 15 body lengths a second. A common method to make robots smaller is to reduce the amount of actuators a robot has to both reduce the size of the robot and the weight but this has a negative effect on the robots mobility. This project also deals with the use of inertial appendages in under actuated miniature robots. An inertial appendage in the form of a tail was added to a robot to study the effects a tail would have on dynamic steering. Tails can contribute to steering through either a shift in the robots center of mass or through the transfer of angular momentum. The goal of this study is to provide a model of a legged robot that successfully uses an inertial tail for faster and sharper turns. Other factors that can affect the robots movement are also studied such as changing the tail s inertia, the friction between the robot and the surface, and motor input voltage. There are also two types of tails that will be tested and compared, a symmetric tail with weights on either side, and an asymmetric tail with half the length and a weight only on one side. The symmetric tail separates the effect of changing the robots center of mass as the system is still balanced but the asymmetric tail changes the robots center of mass which may prove either detrimental or beneficial to the robots mobility. History of Inertial Appendages The idea of inertial appendages first stemmed from a proposal in 1969 by a paleontologist who said that theropod dinosaurs had tails which acted as dynamic stabilizers during rapid or irregular movements. (Libby, 2012) This led to the discovery that other animals such as lizards and cats have been known to use their tails to self right their bodies in free fall. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With the use of numerous literary techniques, Pack is able to enhance the meaning of the poem: that we must depend on ourselves for answers because other opinions are just echoes of our own ideas. At first glance, the reader notices that the poem is divided into two parts in order to resemble a conversation. When reading the sonnet for the first time the reader may make the mistake in thinking that what the echo replies is an answer to the questions the voice asks. The line reads leaf blooms, burns red before delighted eyes , the blooming or opening of leaves is a direct parallel to humans opening up their minds in order to learn something new. But at the end of the line we notice that the leaf itself dies, the poet uses the dying leaf as a parallel to our former ideas dying. Because our minds were opened up to something new, whatever former opinion we had died off when new information on a subject is presented. This is just one part of the learning process so Pack separates it from the other parts with the use of a comma. After the comma, comes the action of understanding the information presented to us. One of them was that dream should be seen as a message coming from outside individual, mostly from God like creatures. And another theory is that dream should be seen as a prophecy, being able to tell us what awaits for us in the future. These theories are prescientific so today we don t view dreams this way. Freud then came along and proposed that dreams reflect a conflict between the unconscious desires and the conscious mind. So, dreams are mostly an expression of unconscious wishes as well as being sleep preserving (Olsen, 2016, p. 159). Despite all these theories of what dreams are, what is the actual reason we have dreams, why do we remember some and forget some, and what are lucid dreams? What Causes Dreaming In the 1970s, a man named John Hobson developed a theory called the activation synthesis theory. It explain that dreams are fabricated by the cortex as a means of interpreting chaotic signals from the pond. In other words dreams have no meaning and they are merely a result of a random chemical messaging in the brain coming from the brainstem. (Olsen, 2016, p. 159). However, a man named Mark Solms later disprove the activation synthesis theory showing that even in patients who have damaged their brain stems, they still have dreams. So it ruled out Hobson s hypothesis that dreams originate from the brain stem. Rapid eye ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
