Emma Amos Research Paper
The first artist name is Emma Amos s, a painter and printmaker who was born in 1938 in Atlanta
Georgia. She began painting and drawing when she was six. Emma was also in a five year program at
Antioch University in Yellow Springs, Ohio where she spent her fourth year abroad at the London
Central School of Art studying printmaking and painting. Amos s first solo exhibition was in an
Atlanta gallery in 1960. Amos s work has been exhibited internationally and is included in the
collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Wadsworth Athenaeum, the New Jersey and Minnesota
state museums, and the Dade County and Newark museums. She has won prestigious awards and
grants . (Amos) The next artist is Hale Woodruff, an African American artist known for his morals,
paintings, prints. Returning to the U.S. in 1931, Woodruff established an art school at Atlanta
University teaching classes at the university s Laboratory High School as well Morehouse and

It stood out to me because I felt like this painting was the only interesting/fun looking piece of art. I
could tell Emma really put her all into it and enjoy painting this. The mood I get from this painting is a
chill vibe. I felt like Emma wanted to paint she wanted it to be at the time. The painting looks like as if
she or a woman is relaxing on an air bed in the pool soaking up some sun while enjoying life. What I
really like about this painting is that you can see all the details put into it and details in the
brushstrokes really makes the picture come alive. Woodruff finished his painting Giddap in 1996.
What stood out to me about this painting is that it tells a story. Most of Woodruff pieces in the gallery
told a story but with this one, it made me want to know what was the background/idea behind painting

King Daniel Research Paper
Daniel
The Babylonians had attacked Jerusalem and took many Jewish captives; one of them was Daniel. He
is known loyal to God and wise beyond his years. He interprets dreams and visions. His gifts are from
God of Israel, and he became a living testimony to God in a strange land. His symbolic visions about
the future of Israel, world kingdoms, and the kingdom of God exposes everyone to the long term plan
for the world. Daniel is not only known as Daniel the prophet; he is also known as one of the most
influential figures in the Book of Daniel who served the King and his successors in Babylon with
loyalty, while remaining true to God of Israel. Daniel s life and prophecies are recorded in the Book of
Daniel. Great Prophet Daniel was descended ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He made up in his mind to serve God. He accepted the bondage of eating the king s food at the king s
table and being torn apart from his family, ripped out of everything he has known, and being trained to
work for a pagan king. He also accepted the pagan education and a new pagan name. He had to make
three important decisions every day. Daniel had to take part in a pagan education, put up with being
called a pagan name, and eating pagan food. He and his friends exceeded the physical development of
their novitiates not because of their genius or diet, but because God gave Daniel knowledge and skill
in every aspect of literature and wisdom (1: 17). In every matter of wisdom and understanding
concerning the King inquires; Daniel s influence assisted in every matter due to the power of his God.
He knew sharing a meal at the king s table meant sharing the king s values. Eating together implies
friendship, support, endorsement, and shared values. Eating the food in this type of situation
represented a moral compromise of everything he had hoped for. His influence on biblical events is
important to learn from because it teaches that a person cannot corrupt a man from the outside. Daniel
may have appeared as a pagan on the outside but on the inside, he was a servant of the living God. He

The Brother Grimms Version Of Rapunzel
The Brother Grimms version of Rapunzel tells the story of a girl who was taken from her family as
soon as she was born and kept in custody until adulthood. When examining the story from a feminist
perspective, it becomes apparent that Rapunzel is a character that is given no choices of her own. She
is forced to follow all of the enchantress instructions and is not able to live her own life until a male
character enters to save her. Rapunzel was taken by the enchantress as soon as her mother had given
birth to her. She was taken away due to the fact that her father had given her up due to fear in a certain
situation. Right off the bat of this story, both Rapunzel and her mother are treated as objects. The
father completely disregards the fact that Rapunzel is a human being and she is his and his wife s
daughter. Not even consulting his wife before making this decision. I can t help but wonder why he
didn t consult his wife before giving up the rights to their child, it s as if he feels that ... Show more

The enchantress kept her hidden, kept her as her own little secret. This shows that the enchantress was
aware that many people would have enjoyed Rapunzel, so she locked her away in the tower. The story
reads, Rapunzel grew into the most beautiful child under the sun. When she was twelve years old, the
enchantress shut her into a tower, which lay in a forest, and had neither stairs nor door, but quite at the
top was a little window. The preceding quotation poses the question of what if Rapunzel did not grow
up to be a beautiful child? If Rapunzel had not grown up to be beautiful, would the enchantress have
treated her differently? And what if this child was not the female Rapunzel was, would the enchantress
still lock her away in the tall tower away from everyone that could view her

Urinary Incontinence Assessment
Understanding Types of Urinary Incontinence, Assessments and Appropriate Intervention
Urinary incontinence (UI) can be defined as, involuntary leakage of urine to a degree that it is
troubling to a person (Mauk, p. 545). Not only it is a common problem for the elderly, which has a
tremendous impact on their quality of life, it is also a common health problems that affects more than
17 millions of Americans (Testa, p. 82). Even though urinary incontinence is a common problem for
the senior it is not a normal part of the aging process, however vast majority of people still does not
seek help due to the fact that they think it is a normal part of aging and the embarrassment related to
the social stigma associated with the disease. As a healthcare ... Show more content on

It is essential for the nurse to have a proper and detailed assessment to determine the most likely cause
or type of UI. One of the most basic and least invasive assessment a nurse can do is to obtain a
complete history. A complete history must asked questions such as onset and duration, aggravating
factors, characteristics, medical history (medical conditions and medications), associated symptoms,
attempted treatments and severity (Testa, p. 83). There are also different tools that a nurse can use
such as the Urogenital Inventory/ Incontinence Impact Questionnaire and Bladder Diary. Using
questionnaires and bladder diary can be used in order to facilitate data gathering for people who have
difficulty discussing incontinence face to face. Thorough history can provide insight and help identify
potentially reversible causative factors and contributing risk factors related to UI (Mauk, p. 553). It is
also important to have a detailed physical assessment, which focused on genitourinary system,
abdominal, rectal and neurologic system, in order to determine the pathophysiology of voiding
problems. If the nurse suspects any cognitive impairment from the initial assessment Mini Mental
State Examination, Mini Cog, and/or Confusion Assessment Method can be used to determine the
severity of the cognitive impairment. It also alerts the healthcare provider for the patient increased
risked for constant incontinence and it also determines the appropriate interventions. Having a
comprehensive assessment will help the healthcare provider to diagnose and establish proper

The Prayer At Valley Forge Analysis
As Gala has no favorite style, she also can t pick a favorite artist. Growing up, she said that her
favorite artist was Arnold Friburg, a well known artist whose work is realistic and reminiscent of the
Renaissance painters. Arguably his most famous painting is The Prayer at Valley Forge, depicting
George Washington, kneeling by his horse. Friburg lived near where Gala grew up and she saw him as
a local rockstar. Later, when Gala gained her own fame for The Ten Virgins, she sent Friburg an
invitation to hear her give a lecture about her art. To her surprise, he came. She shook the hand of her
childhood hero and he invited her to tour his personal artist studio, a huge, gargantuan barn full of 10
12 ft canvases. He had just finished painting a commissioned piece of Prince Charles, and it was still
in the studio for her to see.
As she got older, she only collected more and more favorite artists. She grew to admire Howard
Terpening, an artist famous for his slightly impressionistic oil paintings of Native Americans and for
his fantastic portrayal of sunlight. Gala says that his work is at once realistic and magical. She had
studied his work extensively, right down to the way he frames his paintings, when she happened to
meet him at an art show in Sedona, AZ. He was a very nice looking man, she says with a laugh, but
what can you do? He signed my book. Now he lives in Scottsdale and gets half a million to three
fourths a million dollars for one painting. He s one of

Speech On Abandoned Children
There are many reasons for the large number of abandoned children in India. The children can be
unwanted (mostly girls), illegitimate or orphans due to diseases. The children have to be taken care of
one way or the other. Orphan children are the deprived and the isolated population deserving special
attention to become healthy and responsible children, physically fit, mentally alert and morally healthy
endowed with the skills and the motivation needed by society. UNICEF and global partners define an
orphan as a child who has lost one or both parents. An estimated 31 million children in India, aged 0
17 years, are orphaned and abandoned according to the most recent statistics from UNICEF.
Proper family environment plays an important role in the life of children. Nobody can deny the
important role of parents in developing balanced and harmonious development of personality. But
unfortunately cruel fortune deprives some children of the sympathetic affectionate parental care.
These children are known as orphaned children. An orphan is a child permanently bereaved of his or
her parents. In common usages, an orphan does not have any surviving parent to care for him or her.
Because of parental deprivation some children are reared in destitute homes and in orphanages. This
group of children is termed as institutionalised orphan children. These ... Show more content on

Do Different Brands Of Popcorn Affect How Many Kernels
Do different brands of popcorn affect how many kernels pop?
Introduction
The grocery store shelves are filled with many varieties, sizes, and brands of the same item. There are
numerous kinds of popcorn, large and small, produced by different manufacturers. Some people
choose products based on need, some base their decisions on price and some base their decision on
quality or brand loyalty. With all of these options it can be difficult to choose. You may want to save
money but at what cost? In this experiment we will determine if generics are equivalent alternatives or
if we really get what we pay for. (Bautista, 2006)

2.Heat stove at a medium high heat (7/10 on most stove units); let it heat up for 3 minutes
*To keep the heat the same medium high heat for each run of the experiment.
3.Add 1T of peanut oil
*Peanut oil has a higher smoke point and has less of a chance of burning during the experiment.
4.Once stove has reached medium high heat (3 minutes has passed), insert 1 popcorn kernel into the
pot.
*This step makes sure the stove is hot enough for the popcorn to pop.
5.Once test kernel has popped, pour in the popcorn kernels into the pot, put the pot top on, and
immediately start timer for seconds.
*The timer has to be started as soon as the popcorn is put into the pot so that the time stays consistent.
When the top is put on, after the popcorn is put in the pot, it not only keeps the popped popcorn in the
pot during the popping, but also keeps the heat inside allowing the popcorn a greater chance of
absorbing moisture.
6.Once timer has gone off after 30 seconds, quickly remove pot from heating surface and quickly pour
into bowl.
*To make sure the same amount of heat is given to both name brand and generic and is removed from
the stove surface as soon as the timer goes off.
7.Count remaining unpopped seeds Popped kernels are any broken kernels.
*The seeds must be counted in order to determine if name brand popcorn pops better

Plea Bargaining Essay
The art of plea bargaining is a tactic of the judicial system that keeps money and resources in mind
when making these decisions. Plea deals help everyone involved. I think that the practice of plea
bargaining should continue in this country for a variety of reasons. The plea bargain, in which the
defense attorney and the prosecutor reach an agreement: The defendant agrees to plead guilty in
exchange for a reduction of charges or a lighter sentence. As a result of this exchange, the prosecutor
gains a quick, sure conviction; the offender receives a shorter sentence: and the defense attorney can
move on to the next case. Thus, the cooperation underlying the exchange promotes the goals of each
participant. (Cole Smith. 2010. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Should everyone be allowed a plea deal? This is a tricky question in my book. As stated in the
questions about this topic, it states that plea deals are not constitutional, there fore it can be used at the
prosecutors discretion. Should certain crime qualify and some not? I say, yes. If a person has
committed a heinous crime and the prosecutor can prove without a shadow of a doubt the quilt of a
defendant, then I say no plea deal. The other downfall of a plea deals is when the court of public
opinion is calling for harsher sentencing than the prosecutor is offering. The public will demand
justice for a crime committed, and in my opinion the prosecutor has a duty to render fair justice for the
crime committed. Another factor in plea deals is keeping up the bargain. A defendant might have to do
something to render the deal valid, for example, a defendant might have to testify against someone
else, as in the case of Ricketts v. Adamson (1987). The ethics involved in making a deal can be tricky.
How far should a prosecutor go to get a guilty plea? Playing by the rules is critical, when it comes to
keeping our judicial system legitimate. If we go outside the rule to get a guilty plea, then we don t
stand up to the fairness test. Altogether, I agree that plea deals are a net good to the system. If plea
deals were not on the table before or during a trial, I think that our judicial system would be

The parties have a set amount of time to review the recommendations before they are posted publicly.
They have 10 days to notify the Minister of their acceptance of the recommendations. If both parties
accept the recommendations, they are binding. If one or both of the parties does not indicate
acceptance of the recommendations, the Labour Relations Board conducts a vote of the party or
parties that did not accept them. If the recommendations are rejected again after the vote, the parties
can continue negotiating a settlement on their own, or give a 72 hour notice to strike or lockout.
Government pays the costs associated with a DIB. Public Emergency Tribunal (PET) In the case of an
existing, or imminent strike or lockout, the provincial government has the option to end a dispute by
declaring a public emergency and referring the matter to a Public Emergency Tribunal (PET), which is
a form of compulsory arbitration. This is only used when a dispute may result in damage to health or
property (e.g., disruption of health services, water plant, etc.) or unreasonable hardship is placed on
persons not involved in the dispute. A time period will be set during which the parties can meet on
their own or with a government appointed mediator to reach a settlement. If a settlement cannot be
reached on or before the fixed date, the dispute is referred to the PET. The PET process is initiated and
the Minister fixes a deadline by which the PET must issue a binding award.

The Death Of A Great Deal
Once there was a man, wise, good looking, and overall extraordinarily successful. One might not
consider it when looking upon him, but he had suffered a great deal is his life thus far. Everything was
about to change yet again for him with the appearance of the instruments of his oldest hardship. His
brothers. As can be plainly seen, this is the life of Joseph, and at this point in the narrative his brothers
have just arrived on the scene. Backing up a tad, at the outset of Genesis 42, Jacob is admonishing his
eleven sons to head to Egypt to buy food. They agree and all head to Egypt save Benjamin, Joseph s
only full blood brother. Benjamin did not make the trip because his father worried excessively over
him. They made it to Egypt and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is a bit contradicting and shows the lack of Jacob s faith in the Lord at this time in his life. In
accordance, it is quite mystifying as to the exact necessity of all ten brothers actually making the
journey. Were they afraid they would become lonely or was the food in Egypt metered out according
to persons present? A passage such as this also begs the question, why would did the brother s first
response to accusation include family details and intimate information? Does this have something to
do with the previous question about quotas of food being dependent upon the number of family
members? Was it really the best way they could think of to show an Egyptian official their innocence?
Also, it is a bit puzzling why they would sort of admit to Joseph s demise by saying he is no more
versus, a wild beast has devoured him as they told their father (Gen. 37:33). Notions such as these can
be more fully understood by looking into a solid Bible based commentary. After consulting Paradise to
Prison, by John J. Davis, concerning Genesis 42:1 15, the text became quite clearer on the whole.
Joseph s true motive in all of this seems to be to humble his brothers (279). A sentiment such as this is
a bit hard to see in the text, but in hindsight truly acknowledges every facet of Joseph s behavioral
eccentricities. Joseph, while he has

Adolescence is a period of dramatic and revolutionary change. In western cultures it is the time of life,

celebrated and romanticized, in particular within the sphere of popular culture, for its creative and
challenging energies. At its onset, adolescence can be seen as the beginning of the end of childhood

Since the environment among a school is not that of a clinic or an outside counseling practice, certain
planning needs to occur while forming groups. Rather than client s willingly signing up or seeking out
a group, a survey would be completed by faculty and staff to identify potential group members.
Students would also participate in the survey process, giving perception of their needs. These surveys
would be a form of data collection necessary in addressing needs that could otherwise be unknown.
Following this, a meeting with potential group members would take place individually. The students
would be informed about the group and what they may gain from it. Expectations, participation and

Reflection On Group Presentation
In the group presentation, my group and I presented on the issue of isms. This included focus on
sexism, ageism, and racism. I felt that each person in our group was very diverse and unique which
made our presentation stand out with having a little bit of individuality from each member in the
presentation. Our main goal of communication was to inform the audience on what exactly each ism
is, discuss where each one is found, and how the are influenced in today s society. From the start of
the group presentation process, I found myself being an emergent leader. With a lack of
communication when our group first got together, I felt we were in need of leadership because it
seemed nobody else was going to do anything such as getting each others numbers or creating a group
name, so I decided to take charge the best I could. As time went on our group started to get our stuff
together. With that said if we all began brainstorming and set up some procedural needs from the start,
the group would of been on the same page and maybe some wouldn t have waited until the last
moment. I was thankful for Jonathan for stepping up and helping the group get started with an outline
and focusing on a question of policy along with answering any other questions that arose during the
presentation process. Once the deadline got closer however is when we communicated the most.
Sounds logical but my hope was that we all have most of the work done prior than the day before it
was due so we could

Julia Margaret Cameron Essay
At a time when women were looked upon as being homemakers, wives, mothers and such the late
1850 s presented a change in pace for one woman in specific. Photography was discovered in 1826
and soon after the phenomenon of photography was being experimented with and in turn brought new
and different ways of photo taking not only as documenting real time, but also conceptualizing a scene
in which an image would be taken. Julia Margaret Cameron will forever be recorded in the history
books as one of the first female photographers to make significant contributions to a field that was
ruled by the male counterpart of her time. Julia Margaret Cameron was born 1815 in Calcutta, India
and was the fourth child of James and Adeline de l Etang ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her subject was Annie Philpot, the daughter of a local resident. It is a picture of great simplicity and
grace, conspicuously divided in terms of light and dark (Cox 10). Julia Margaret Cameron had a
passion for literature and the visual arts which she made sure was a part of her families everyday life
and when she was introduced to photography she was able to incorporate her new passion with her
domesticated life with great ease. All of her children were grown and taking care of their careers and
or raising their families so she was able to set up shop at her home and begin her new adventure.
Photography had forever changed the world when it was invented and ways of documenting now
would include images of people, places or things that would be marked in documentary, journalistic
and artistic ways. Julia Margaret Cameron made an impact in the world of photography when her
daughter decided that she would give her a camera for her forty eighth birthday. Julia Margaret
Cameron became one of Victorian England s most renowned female photographers and given the time
she was living in and that she was a woman she was not taken seriously and many believed she would
never contribute much to the art of photography which she proved wrong with her short ten year
career. From the time Julia Margaret Cameron s photographs were first exhibited in 1864, her works
have aroused admiration and debate. Many were quick to praise her penetrating

Watchers Of The Sky Essay Topics
The crimes against humanity will never ever end unless people take up arms to protect and fight for
their freedom and human rights as what lawyer Lemkin said. The UN has been doing everything in
their power to stop the genocide around the world, but I think that they won t succeed because there
are some dictators in our world who lead their countries for their self interest, and leave the people
with cruel choice which is the hard choice between rather they want to follow their leader and be safe
or not follow their leader and be killed by their leader. For example, in the movie called watchers of
the sky is that they brought the president of Sudan Al basher as a leader who is against humanity by
force the people of Darfur to follow his lead and not protesting against him. In addition, these human
issues most likely happen in less developed counties like Rwanda where 200,000 people were killed in
one month by a dictatorship in order to control the country, which could describe what realism stands

The Nature Of Thomas Hobbes And The English Civil Revolution
Thomas Hobbes was the more established of the two brothers being conceived in 1588 in
Malmesbury, in Wiltshire, England. Ahead of schedule in the seventeenth century, Hobbes went to
learn at Oxford, graduating in 1608. After graduation, Hobbes started filling in as a coach for the
Cavendish family, mentoring the future Earl of Devonshire. In spite of the fact that he kept on working
for the Cavendish family discontinuously for whatever remains of his life, Hobbes likewise made a
few voyages to Europe to learn and work with his philosophical associates, including Galileo,
Mersenne, and René Descartes.
Hobbes perspective of human instinct was formed to a great extent by the English Civil War, which
occurred from 1642 to 1649 and finished in the decapitation of King Charles I. Hobbes considered the
following riotous interregnum time frame, from 1649 to 1660, to be as near that fundamental
condition of nature as people could get. Considering the exceptionally useless nature of English
government amid that time, Hobbes perspectives should come as meager astonishment.
As a result of Hobbes critical perspective of human instinct, he trusted the main type of government
sufficiently solid to keep mankind s brutal driving forces within proper limits was outright
government, where a ruler employed incomparable and unchecked control over his subjects. While
Hobbes had faith in social contract hypothesis (that is, the hypothesis that a ruler has an implicit,

The Five Stages of an Interview in Counselling Essay
Stage One Relationship and structure
The interview took place in a small room. There were four members from the Interviewing and
Counselling class that were present; myself the counsellor, the client and the two others were technical
support. The client gave permission for the other two members to be present because they helped to
tape and time of the session. The setting was not very ideal, since there were two additional members
and the room was available for a limited time. Nevertheless, it worked because it was a familiar
setting where we practice our counselling most of the time. The setting encouraged comfort and
disclosure because the door of the room was closed and the client and I trusted the other members. At

a therapeutic way (Ivey Ivey, 2007). I used open ended and closed questions to gather more in depth
information from the client. For example, What are your expectations? and Would you be satisfied
with your grades if your parents do not pressure you? I also used encouragers such as head nods and
repetition of key words stated by the client. I also summarized her story several times to clarify with
the client that I was hearing her correctly. I felt that she was motivated to elaborate (Ivey Ivey, 2007,
pg 231). I also used some observation skills such as observing the client s verbal and non verbal
behaviours, e.g. her voice tone, eye contact and the way she was sitting at certain point in the session.
While I listened to the tape, I realized that I had empathized and reflected on the client s feelings a few
times and this was done later in the interview. Not reflecting empathy earlier led the client to think that
I did not understand her situation. Also, I imposed my values on the client by telling her that eighty
percent is good even though she clearly stated that it is really bad for her. I thought this would have
made her feel better but it did not. If I were to meet this client again for the same issue I would reflect
empathy by saying the following: Getting good grades means a lot to you. I can see

The Internet Is The Main Source For Information And Education
The internet is the main source for information and education. However, people learn language like I
dunno or idk from the internet. Unfortunately, I used to be one of those people. However, over time I
finally learned the difference between your and you re , and it was easy to just add an apostrophe to
they re instead of typing they are . I realized that the internet had a grip on my writing and I had to do
something about it. This sort of writing that I came into contact with transitioned from text talk ,
which is a form of typing with no punctuation or capitalization, to the correct form of grammar and
spelling. For quite some time, I used MySpace to voice my 9 year old opinions. This did not work out
too well. I found myself typing words with numbers in them that made sense in my head, but as I look
back, I realize that I was only hurting my grammar and not making it any better. I thought I was cool
by typing like that, but by doing that, karma eventually came back in a not so pretty way. I can
remember back to elementary school whenever Mrs. Beasley, my 3rd grade teacher, asked the class to
write an autobiography. I thought and thought of what to write. Finally, my pen went to work and my
autobiography rough draft was finished in less than 20 minutes. That night, my dad proofread my
paper. Unfortunately, he found many errors. Those errors he pointed out to me were text talk . I was

Naturalism Vs Supernaturalism
Gary complains that my definition of weak naturalism is narrow, and then proceeds to conflate that
definition with naturalism, claiming I equivocate. Allow me then to clarify so that any further
discussion can be clear. My claim that As far as we know, the natural world is all there is, is not, pace
Gary s claim, a knowledge claim about fundamental reality. It is agnostic about fundamental reality.
This is a crucial distinction, as Gary is at pains to maintain the position of false equivalence between
weak naturalism and supernaturalism. My position clearly states as far as we know , thereby
delineating a point beyond our current level of knowledge (know). Weak naturalism does not enter this
unknown country, rather it maintains that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Examples of where I had previously used weak naturalism to posit a prima facie case for naturalism,
provide no contradiction or suggestion that my definition of weak naturalism is anything less than
clear. Ie. Naturalism makes a knowledge claim about fundamental reality whereas weak naturalism
does not. Gary appears to think I was arguing that naturalism can be proven from premises that (1)
nature exists; and (2) there is no evidence of a supernatural reality) that nature is all there is (which, of
course, does not follow) . My essay argued that there was a false equivalence between the two
metaphysical views, not that I considered naturalism proven by the limits of our knowledge. In any
case, making a straw man of my claims does nothing to substantiate claims of a supernatural realm. To
refute weak naturalism the supernaturalist needs to provide positive evidence of a supernatural world.
It is not sufficient to present semantic disagreement on what the terms mean or to attempt to puncture
weak naturalism by conflating and straw manning the concept. It is trivially true that the world exists,
and undoubtedly true that we have no compelling evidence of a world beyond. The question is: what
sort of evidence would be adequate to refute weak naturalism? And by degree, this question becomes,
what quantum of evidence would be sufficient

observations, questionnaires and heuristics evaluation.
These usability evaluation methods allowed us to recognize the major flaws of the website, also
assisted to identify the key features and aspects of the website which have to be improved.
The first aspect needs to be changed within the website is the colors and the font size used throughout
the entire website. Based on the heuristics evaluation we performed, the font size used in the website
is big, which makes reading the content uncomfortable, also there are many colors used in the website

It is one of the biggest flaws of the website, for this reason it is essential to create enough space
between the paragraphs and images so the viewer has space to breathe, minimize the paragraphs size
of the content, divide large blocks of information into more manageable groups where natural and
appropriate, avoid content clutter especially on the homepage, present information in more precise and
ordered way to minimize the scrolling required, and finally, organize the content with respect to the
principles of contrast, repetition, alignment and proximity. All these steps must be taken to accomplish
three of our usability goals (effective home page, Clarity of the interface, Motivating website), as well
as to meet two of the Windows Interface Guidelines, aesthetics and simplicity .
Another aspect is the lack of menu, quick links and search engine, based on our observations, users
were not able to find different kinds of information they were looking for, and the reason for that is
because the website does not offer any menu or quick links to allow users to navigate quickly,
additionally, the website does not have a search engine which allows users to find products quickly, so

The thought experiment s most common variation proposes that a test subject has the ability to save
five people by flipping a switch and having it hit one person instead (Kahane). Another proposal is the
footswitch variation, which proposes a test subject has the ability to save five people by pushing one
otherwise uninvolved person onto the tracks. While deontology is concerned with whether man has
obligation to act in the problem, utilitarianism proposes that the subject should always sacrifice the
life of one to save as many as possible. Utilitarianism, despite its seemingly logical appeal, is not
psychologically natural for most individuals. One study found that those who make utilitarian
decisions in the trolley experiment tend to have decreased sense of responsibility, higher than average

Swot Analysis Walgreens
Walgreens
When forming Walgreens in 1901, Mr. Charles Rudolph Walgreen had a vision of changing drugstores
from humdrum fronts to actual businesses that imparted value to customers. He had worked in
pharmacies before, and he had a vision of what he wanted. However, even he would not have known
that it would grow to the behemoth it is now. The company is the biggest drug distributor in the United
States and its territories. Its headquarters are still in Chicago, and it has survived in a pharmaceutical
industry that has sometimes proved to be tempestuous. In this paper, the writer shall look at the
industry and how the firm has operated in it. It shall also investigate Walgreens rivals and present an
analysis.
Position in the Industry
The firm brings in over $76 billion dollars in revenue. Those are figures from 2014, and as it goes
global, the figures will rise. It currently has more than 8,217 locations in the country and growing.
After it has completed the buying and integration with Alliance Boots, a Swiss company, that roster is
going to increase. The company is not just bringing in money; it has been in the black for most of its
existence. Last year it had profits upwards of $ 1 billion. It was a slight dip from 2013, but that can be
attributed to the growth drive on which the firm embarked. It did spend quite a lot on rebranding in
some locations and resetting its store model.

management side. Complex processes and decision making is an integral part of it and thus
organizational direction, coordination and evaluation is required. Organizations are required to form

When an organization is developing its employment policies certain criteria has to be kept in mind
which are as follows:
1. Painting a picture of the ideal candidate
2. Developing a cadre of qualified candidates
3. Screening the candidates
4. Interviewing and checking references
5. Making the hiring decision
In addition to all of this a structures interview process needs to be kept in place which entails that the
content and method of candidate evaluation in order to ensure equal treatment has to be planned from
before, candidate s past job performance should be given more weight that his personality, the sole
reason for employing should be performance based criteria and certain critical behaviours have to be
reasoned earlier in order to select the person for the job. This structured interview not only helps in
selecting the right candidate but also aids in eliminating a lot of risk and uncertainties involved.
A successful staffing system should include the nuances of the industry and the organization. Job
profiles must be created along with measurable criteria in order to relate ideal performance behaviour;
benchmarks should be kept based on the performance in the organization and in the industry and kinds
of bias must be eliminated while taking crucial decisions.

Usage of normal distribution in AFL
The Australian Football League (AFL) is a multi million dollar sports industry consisting of 18 teams
that are spread over five states of Australia. In this section, two data sets containing the weight and

As discussed in the previous section, a normal distribution has particular characteristics it conforms to.

Since in a normal distribution, the curve is symmetrical, skewness can affect the accuracy to which
normal distribution can be applied to a data set. To determine how close the distribution of the weight
of the AFL population is to being normal, the degree of skewness was found as a large degree of
skewness would reduce the practicality of applying normal distribution to the data set.
To find the coefficient of skewness (a measure of the degree of skewness), the mean, mode and
standard deviation was needed. Due to the large data size, a computer program was used to obtain the
necessary information. The data set was inserted into the program (One Variable Analysis by Haese

on coffee or latte during the day. For more than 380,000 people right here in Wisconsin, it s not a
question. It s a reality. In September, designated as Hunger Action Month, we re asking our supporters
to experience that reality for one week. Called the Hunger Games Challenge, participants are asked to
live as if they are on food stamps, now known as the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance

Nearly 11 percent of people living in Wisconsin depend on food stamps to put food on their tables,
according to the latest report from the Food Research and Action Center.
The program helps people and families buy food. Eligible people receive a monthly benefit that they

would do.

Joint Tactical Radio Systems
Tactical Radio Systems: The Joint Tactical Radio Systems can be described as inexpensive radio
systems that are software programmable and offer reliable, secure, data, multi channel voice, and
video communications for mobile users in the military. The tactical radio systems provide an all
inclusive, safe, and multi channel mobile communications network ability for ground vehicles. The
deliver communications networking capabilities that enable the transfer of several megabits of data
per second on moving ground vehicles at the tactical edge. Consequently, the systems places total
power and control of the Global Information Grid into the warfighters and take the situational
awareness of network beyond the center for tactical operations (Simonsen, 2011). Due to its huge
impact, the tactical radio systems have been touted as the next generation radio for voice and data
services that will be used by the United States military in their field operations after 2010. The reason
for this consideration is the fact that the systems will work with most of the current military and
civilian radios because they incorporate integrated encryption and networking software that facilitate
the development of mobile ad hoc networks. These systems have been developed on the software
communications architecture, which is a framework that provides information to designers on how
software and hardware can function in harmony. One of the main advantages of this framework is that

The Romanesque period was an age group of new and experimental structures. One advancement in

The directed arch was their first technology that removed the uncomfortable look of disproportional

And, crisis management is the process of determining and influencing crisis points in a positive
direction. The opposite would be termed crisis mismanagement .
The traditional view of a crisis is that it is a turning point. The term was originally used in the field of
medicine (disease control). Therefore, it is a borrowed term with its genesis in the early 15th century,
from a Latinized form of Greek krisis turning point in a disease (Online Etymology Dictionary, n.d.).
If a crisis cannot be defined in time (World Health Organization, n.d.) , then it is an event or a point in
time of 0 days duration. A milestone is defined as a significant event of no duration (Project
Management Institute, 2012). Therefore, a crisis and a milestone share similar properties with respect
to their time dimension.
The key difference between an emergency and a disaster lies in the resourcefulness of the organization

focusing on the occurrence of the point in time; we should then divert our attention to significant shifts
in resource needs as a basis for determining crisis points.

Sirens In The Odyssey
Homer and Atwood showcase the multifaceted nature of the myth of the Sirens through various
perspectives, with varying tones, and utilizing imagery. Homer recounts the narrative of a man
sufficiently shrewd to hear the siren s tune and not lose his life; meanwhile Atwood portrays a siren,
alluring men to her island to trap them.
Although the tones differentiate from each other within the two passages, both utilize cleverness with
trickery. Odysseus runs with his life secure, and the Siren feels accomplished; her boring song...works
every time. Phrases such as now with a sharp word demonstrate how the tone in Homer s passage is
powerful and rich. In any case, as Homer s tone has manly characteristics, Atwood s has femininity.
Her tone feels sinister yet beseeching. These two passages pair as two parts of a whole. Odysseus
represents a prey, attempting hysterically to escape demise, while the Siren is a savage predator, ...

Homer s words are manly, effective, and powerful. He utilizes words like sharp, strength, strong
hands, and sharp sword. The description illustrates a man who is not only cruising by the Sirens, but
heading to war with them. Homer depicts the Sirens song as ravishing, thrilling, and urgent. Their
voices influence Odysseus emotions. Additionally, there almost is a feeling of sexual tension taken
from this sequence of imagery. Atwood s imagery, however, feels distant from a manly nature and
certainly less sensual. The phrases bird suit and squatting nearly provide the picture of an absurd
environment; meanwhile feathery maniacs and fatal and valuable radiate a graver tone. The imagery
along with the tone influences the reader to understand and feel sympathy for this poor Siren, for she
abhors what she is. Overall, the poem starts enchantingly threatening, then turns to be relatively
innocent, and lastly closes with a similar grave and lethal or clever

Discovering Vinland in a Viking Age
Leif Eriksson Discovering Vinland in a Viking Age Every year during the second week of October,
while we enjoy in the celebrations of Columbus s day, most of us may have already forgotten the
existence of another holiday, called Leif Erikson Day, the holiday that US President often proclaim
and giving a speech to encourage people never stop discover new possibilities and appreciate to the
spirit of exploration. It makes us think of the Leif Erikson, one of the greatest medieval leaders who
composed an unbeatable chapter in global history. From the printed image, the U.S. commemorative
stamp issued on October 9, 1968, named Leif Erikson Day , his gallant shape along with his double
edged sword and rhombus shield, we can tell that Eriksson was the man and legendary explorer who
sailed toward an unknown region for his dream. Unlike most medieval kingships and emperors,
Eriksson was a tough man whose historical figure vividly portrayed Viking cultures. More
importantly, it represented another type of medieval leadership with an immortalized image of
humanity for new civilization and religion. Leif Erikson was born of Norwegian descent around 970
AD in Iceland. He was the second of three sons of Erik the Red, an ambitious Viking who established
a settlement in Greenland and named a lot of places he found along his voyage. (Phol 12) Erickson s
mother Thjodhild was an ordinary family woman. In contrast, Erickson s grandfather, Thorvald
Asvaldsson, who committed manslaughter and

Muscular Contributions And Hip And Knee Extension During...
The article Muscular contributions to hip and knee extension during the single limb stance phase of
normal gait: a Theoretical Framework for Crouch Gait by Allison Arnold, Frank Anderson, Marcus
Pandy, and Scott Delp investigates the biomechanics of normal gait in hopes to uncover ideas to help
determine treatments for crouch gait. Crouch gait is a bothersome abnormality that affects the gait
pattern of people who suffer from the condition of cerebral palsy. It s characterized by excessive
flexion of the hips and knees during standing and excessive use of metabolic energy to complete a
single gait cycle. Currently, the treatments for this condition are limited and have unpredictable
outcomes due to the unknown biomechanical causes of the excessive flexion in crouch gait. These
treatments include surgical lengthening of hamstrings, ankle foot orthoses, and intense stretching
regimens, with patients experiencing results ranging from no improvement in their symptoms to
dramatic improvements. The vast array of results from treatments are due to the little understanding
medical professionals have of not only abnormal gait patterns (such as crouch gait) but of normal gait
as well (Arnold, Anderson, Pandy, and Delp, 2005). Despite the article s title relating to crouch gait,
the purpose of the study conducted was to examine and quantify the accelerations of normal hip and
knee movements that were induced by specific muscles during the single limb stance phase and to
rank these

Health Of Achieving Health And Wellness
Achieving health and wellness is a highly individualized, dynamic process that is characterized by six
interrelated dimensions: physical, social, intellectual, emotional, spiritual, and environmental health.
The focus of this paper is my physical health as it relates to wellness.
Furthermore, the objective of focusing on my physical health is to identify current health behaviors
and factors that may be impacting and prohibiting me from achieving optimal physical health. Using
the Transtheoretical Model for Stages of Change1 as a guide, I will identify a specific health behavior
I am seeking to improve, and outline an action plan to achieve and maintain good physical health.
In assessing my health behaviors, I have identified three specific behaviors that have negatively
impacted my physical health: lack of physical activity, poor nutrition and inadequate sleep. The factors
that I attribute to these current heath behaviors are: a lack of social support and guidance, the
nutritional value of foods consumed (as related to the culture in which I was raised), and time
management.
I attribute my lack of physical activity to an absence of social support and guidance in my life. For
example, my mother suffers with cardiovascular disease (CVD), yet rarely engages in physical
activity. Five years ago, my mother had a heart attack, and underwent an angioplasty2 in order to
receive a stent3. In accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
(CDC) (2015), the American

Analysis Of The Short Stories Lady With A Pet Dog
Hope Crenshaw
Dr. Schott
English 102
September 13,2015 Lady with the Pet Dog The short stories Lady with the Pet Dog written by Chekov
and Lady with a Pet Dog written by Oates demonstrate the relationship between a young woman,
Anna , and her lover. The authors use two different points of view as well as Anna s behaviors,
motives and feelings in an attempt to convey a sense of understanding. Neither Chekove nor Oates
evoke a sense of sympathy towards Anna as she struggles to justify her actions. Firstly, Anna uses her
unsatisfactory marriage to justify her affair. In Chekhov uses my husband may be a good, honest man,
but he is a flunkey! (Chekov 227) to indicate that Anna has an estranged marriage. Although Anna has
not obtained an ideal marriage, she shows that she does indeed care about her husband ... and begging
his wife to return home as soon as possible. Anna Sergeyevna made haste to go (Chekov 228). Chekov
uses the fact that Anna rushes home in order to show that she still loves her husband. After all, if she
did not, she would not have rushed home. Although Oates writes from Anna s point of view, the author
still shows similarities with Chekhov s version. I love you, her husband said fiercely, angrily. She shut
her eyes and thought of that other man. (Oates 239). In

Ron Weasley Essay
Irrevocably, Ron Weasley is a riveting and remarkably relatable member of the Golden Trio.
Unfortunately, the film adaptations of the Harry Potter books have slandered his depth and relegated
him to the position of comic relief and placeholder. From even the first movie, Ron s character has
been forced under thorough defamation, resulting in a character wholly unlike his written counterpart,
and the dynamics of our trio was transmogrified into hero, heroine, and mascot. Having been robbed
of a truly fascinating character, a substantial slice of the fanbase either harbours scorn or expresses
unmitigated vitriol towards Ron. The discrepancies between book Ron and movie Ron usually occur
through omissions in the film, and if we compare and contrast ... Show more content on

The Weasleys are genuinely poor, and it influences Ron and kids who may identify themselves within
him. Ron is accustomed to having very little, and it s conspicuous in what Ron eats, wears, buys,
doesn t buy, as well as in the way he recoils when Harry unintentionally advertises his own riches. His
insecurity is only exacerbated by Draco Malfoy s perpetual bashing; the verbal abuse flung at Ron
predominantly surround his lack of academic intelligence, talent, and money. Outside of material
wealth, Book Ron considers himself inferior to his accomplished brothers and his best friends
respective fame and academic intelligence. Less is expected of him, and he oftentimes others apathy
towards what he recognizes as his own achievements negatively affects him. Movie Ron is portrayed
as simply envious of Harry. In the movies, the Horcrux gets to him through his love for Hermione. In
the books, the Horcrux penetrates his emotional shields through the nagging suspicion that he isn t,
never has been, and never will be good enough for anyone and anything. The scene following the
locket s destruction is omitted, preventing viewers from witnessing Harry s realization of Ron s
debilitating insecurity and Ron s understanding of Harry s reluctance to be the Chosen One. The film
series fails to see value in Ron just as Ron fails to see value in

His symbolic visions about the future of Israel, world kingdoms, and the kingdom of God exposes everyone to the long term plan for the world. Daniel is not only known as Daniel the prophet; he is also known as one of the most influential figures in the Book of Daniel who served the King and his successors in Babylon with loyalty, while remaining true to God of Israel. Daniel had to take part in a pagan education, put up with being called a pagan name, and eating pagan food. She is forced to follow all of the enchantress instructions and is not able to live her own life until a male character enters to save her. Rapunzel was taken by the enchantress as soon as her mother had given birth to her. She was taken away due to the fact that her father had given her up due to fear in a certain situation. Right off the bat of this story, both Rapunzel and her mother are treated as objects. The father completely disregards the fact that Rapunzel is a human being and she is his and his wife s daughter. Not even consulting his wife before making this decision. I can t help but wonder why he didn t consult his wife before giving up the rights to their child, it s as if he feels that ... There are also different tools that a nurse can use such as the Urogenital Inventory/ Incontinence Impact Questionnaire and Bladder Diary. Using questionnaires and bladder diary can be used in order to facilitate data gathering for people who have difficulty discussing incontinence face to face. Thorough history can provide insight and help identify potentially reversible causative factors and contributing risk factors related to UI (Mauk, p. 553). It is also important to have a detailed physical assessment, which focused on genitourinary system, abdominal, rectal and neurologic system, in order to determine the pathophysiology of voiding problems. If the nurse suspects any cognitive impairment from the initial assessment Mini Mental State Examination, Mini Cog, and/or Confusion Assessment Method can be used to determine the severity of the cognitive impairment. Growing up, she said that her favorite artist was Arnold Friburg, a well known artist whose work is realistic and reminiscent of the Renaissance painters. Arguably his most famous painting is The Prayer at Valley Forge, depicting George Washington, kneeling by his horse. Friburg lived near where Gala grew up and she saw him as a local rockstar. Later, when Gala gained her own fame for The Ten Virgins, she sent Friburg an invitation to hear her give a lecture about her art. To her surprise, he came. She shook the hand of her childhood hero and he invited her to tour his personal artist studio, a huge, gargantuan barn full of 10 12 ft canvases. He had just finished painting a commissioned piece of Prince Charles, and it was still in the studio for her to see. As she got older, she only collected more and more favorite artists. She grew to admire Howard Terpening, an artist famous for his slightly impressionistic oil paintings of Native Americans and for his fantastic portrayal of sunlight. Gala says that his work is at once realistic and magical. She had studied his work extensively, right down to the way he frames his paintings, when she happened to meet him at an art show in Sedona, AZ. UNICEF and global partners define an orphan as a child who has lost one or both parents. Proper family environment plays an important role in the life of children. Nobody can deny the important role of parents in developing balanced and harmonious development of personality. I think that the practice of plea bargaining should continue in this country for a variety of reasons. The plea bargain, in which the defense attorney and the prosecutor reach an agreement: The defendant agrees to plead guilty in exchange for a reduction of charges or a lighter sentence. As a result of this exchange, the prosecutor gains a quick, sure conviction; the offender receives a shorter sentence: and the defense attorney can move on to the next case. Thus, the cooperation underlying the exchange promotes the goals of each participant. (Cole Smith. 2010. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Should everyone be allowed a plea deal? This is a tricky question in my book. As stated in the questions about this topic, it states that plea deals are not constitutional, there fore it can be used at the prosecutors discretion. Should certain crime qualify and some not? I say, yes. If a person has committed a heinous crime and the prosecutor can prove without a shadow of a doubt the quilt of a defendant, then I say no plea deal. The other downfall of a plea deals is when the court of public opinion is calling for harsher sentencing than the prosecutor is offering. The public will demand justice for a crime committed, and in my opinion the prosecutor has a duty to render fair justice for the crime committed. Another factor in plea deals is keeping up the bargain. A defendant might have to do something to render the deal valid, for example, a defendant might have to testify against someone else, as in the case of Ricketts v. Adamson (1987). The ethics involved in making a deal can be tricky. How far should a prosecutor go to get a guilty plea? Playing by the rules is critical, when it comes to keeping our judicial system legitimate. If we go outside the rule to get a guilty plea, then we don t stand up to the fairness test. Altogether, I agree that plea deals are a net good to the system. Backing up a tad, at the outset of Genesis 42, Jacob is admonishing his eleven sons to head to Egypt to buy food. They agree and all head to Egypt save Benjamin, Joseph s only full blood brother. This is a bit contradicting and shows the lack of Jacob s faith in the Lord at this time in his life. In accordance, it is quite mystifying as to the exact necessity of all ten brothers actually making the journey. Were they afraid they would become lonely or was the food in Egypt metered out according to persons present? A passage such as this also begs the question, why would did the brother s first response to accusation include family details and intimate information? Does this have something to do with the previous question about quotas of food being dependent upon the number of family members? Was it really the best way they could think of to show an Egyptian official their innocence? Also, it is a bit puzzling why they would sort of admit to Joseph s demise by saying he is no more versus, a wild beast has devoured him as they told their father (Gen. 37:33). Notions such as these can be more fully understood by looking into a solid Bible based commentary. After consulting Paradise to Prison, by John J. Davis, concerning Genesis 42:1 15, the text became quite clearer on the whole. Joseph s true motive in all of this seems to be to humble his brothers (279). Ahead of schedule in the seventeenth century, Hobbes went to learn at Oxford, graduating in 1608. After graduation, Hobbes started filling in as a coach for the Cavendish family, mentoring the future Earl of Devonshire. In spite of the fact that he kept on working for the Cavendish family discontinuously for whatever remains of his life, Hobbes likewise made a few voyages to Europe to learn and work with his philosophical associates, including Galileo, Mersenne, and René Descartes. Hobbes perspective of human instinct was formed to a great extent by the English Civil War, which occurred from 1642 to 1649 and finished in the decapitation of King Charles I. Hobbes considered the following riotous interregnum time frame, from 1649 to 1660, to be as near that fundamental condition of nature as people could get. However, people learn language like I dunno or idk from the internet. Unfortunately, I used to be one of those people. However, over time I finally learned the difference between your and you re , and it was easy to just add an apostrophe to they re instead of typing they are . I realized that the internet had a grip on my writing and I had to do something about it. This sort of writing that I came into contact with transitioned from text talk , which is a form of typing with no punctuation or capitalization, to the correct form of grammar and spelling. For quite some time, I used MySpace to voice my 9 year old opinions. This did not work out too well. I found myself typing words with numbers in them that made sense in my head, but as I look back, I realize that I was only hurting my grammar and not making it any better. I thought I was cool by typing like that, but by doing that, karma eventually came back in a not so pretty way. I can remember back to elementary school whenever Mrs. Beasley, my 3rd grade teacher, asked the class to write an autobiography. I thought and thought of what to write. Finally, my pen went to work and my autobiography rough draft was finished in less than 20 minutes. That night, my dad proofread my paper. Unfortunately, he found many errors. Those errors he pointed out to me were text talk . I was writing my paper like I was texting someone, and I never realized what I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Allow me then to clarify so that any further discussion can be clear. My claim that As far as we know, the natural world is all there is, is not, pace Gary s claim, a knowledge claim about fundamental reality. It is agnostic about fundamental reality. This is a crucial distinction, as Gary is at pains to maintain the position of false equivalence between weak naturalism and supernaturalism. Examples of where I had previously used weak naturalism to posit a prima facie case for naturalism, provide no contradiction or suggestion that my definition of weak naturalism is anything less than clear. Ie. Naturalism makes a knowledge claim about fundamental reality whereas weak naturalism does not. Gary appears to think I was arguing that naturalism can be proven from premises that (1) nature exists; and (2) there is no evidence of a supernatural reality) that nature is all there is (which, of course, does not follow) . My essay argued that there was a false equivalence between the two metaphysical views, not that I considered naturalism proven by the limits of our knowledge. In any case, making a straw man of my claims does nothing to substantiate claims of a supernatural realm. To refute weak naturalism the supernaturalist needs to provide positive evidence of a supernatural world. It is not sufficient to present semantic disagreement on what the terms mean or to attempt to puncture weak naturalism by conflating and straw manning the concept. It is trivially true that the world exists, and undoubtedly true that we have no compelling evidence of a world beyond. The question is: what sort of evidence would be adequate to refute weak naturalism? And by degree, this question becomes, what quantum of evidence would be sufficient ... The article Muscular contributions to hip and knee extension during the single limb stance phase of normal gait: a Theoretical Framework for Crouch Gait by Allison Arnold, Frank Anderson, Marcus Pandy, and Scott Delp investigates the biomechanics of normal gait in hopes to uncover ideas to help determine treatments for crouch gait. Crouch gait is a bothersome abnormality that affects the gait pattern of people who suffer from the condition of cerebral palsy. Currently, the treatments for this condition are limited and have unpredictable outcomes due to the unknown biomechanical causes of the excessive flexion in crouch gait.
