Unjust Laws In Martin Luther King s Letter From A...
Rules and regulations govern almost every public activity in the United Sates. These are laws created
and enforced by legal authorities to safeguard order, justice, and security in society. Laws help
mediate the relationship people and groups have with one another, and outlines a general code of
conduct, defining what good law abiding citizens ought to do, according to society. Laws are
universally applicable, and carry with them certain punishments and restrictions for violations or
misuse. In places where laws either do not exist or are minimally enforced, then insecurity and chaos
are the norm. Despite the benefits of laws, there are instances when they fail to advocate equally for
all members of its society. These are unjust laws, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example of this inconsistency was famously described by Martin Luther King, Jr., in his Letter
from a Birmingham Jail in 1963. While in jail for having committed an act of non violent protest,
King invokes these principles to defend his actions and appeal to the Southern white clergy, courts and
citizens to stand behind civil rights protests and fight against injustice. In his response, King calls the
laws that oppress black citizens through legal segregation, fear and violence as unjust and his duty to
disobey. For King, An unjust law is a human law that is not rooted in eternal law and natural law
(King). The laws King fought to change did not have any of the characteristics Aquinas outlined. They
expressed the whims of the white citizens and their desires to remain segregated. The laws forced on
black citizens were also created without their input and unjustly applied with disregard to their well
being and humanity. The philosophy of natural law allowed King to resist and disobey unjust laws,
and instead advocate for the common good. Without his example of civil disobedience, it may have
taken longer to achieve a substantial shift in civil rights and equality, affecting the happiness and well
being of many people across the United

Social Cost
The Social Costs of Academic Success across Ethnic Groups is a study conducted by Thomas E.
Fuller Rowell and Stacy N. Doan in 2010. The main intention behind this research was to explore the
long term comparison between academic achievement and social acceptance across different ethnic
groups in a sample of adolescents. In order to find out the race/ethnicities as well as social acceptance
of the participants they conducted in home interviews. In order to find the GPA, they utilized self
reports. The results of this research show that social acceptance is positively correlated with GPA.
African Americans and Native Americans adolescents have a bigger social cost with academic success
than White adolescents do. These findings also suggested that students of Mexican decent also show
different social costs within their achievement.
This research article possessed many strengths. The authors did an exceptional job in including all
factors such as gender, SES, ethnicity, minority groups, single parent families, school and
neighborhood disadvantages in regards to its correlation with academic success. The authors also did a
good job in providing support on other studies in order to make their hypotheses more credible.
Another aspect of the research that I found to be a strength is the ... Show more content on

Pension System In Australia
Overview Global retirement income systems are stretched to the limit these days. People on the verge
of retiring are worse off than those who retired a decade earlier due to the rising cost of purchasing an
annual flow of future income in most jurisdictions around the world. According to Glenn Stevens,
governor of Reserve Bank in Australia, the global retirement income system is under a lot of pressure,
and the problem must be acute in Europe, where sovereign yields in some countries are negative for
significant durations. Mr. Steven s went on to say, How will an adequate flow of income be generated
for the retired community in the future, in a world in which long term nominal returns on low risk
assets are so low? According to Mr. Stevens, they have to accept a lot more risk to generate the
expected flow of future income they want, he warned. So, in a world in which long term yields on low
risk assets (i.e., bonds) are so low, what s a retiree to do? Pension systems vary across countries, and
there s no single model for all. The pension landscape is changing In OECD countries. Recent reforms
are changing the way pension savings are distributed. In several jurisdictions like Britain, Denmark,
Australia, Holland, Sweden, Switzerland and Canada, pension reforms have allowed retirees to take
control of their own retirement pots to spend as they please. The changes apply to people with defined
contribution pension schemes, which both employer and employee contribute to

In the automotive world there is lots of car brands on the market for us to pick from, there are
American brands, Japanese, Germen to cars, SUV and trucks. Some of them are successful brand on
the market today, however, there are some that haven t had much luck and had to close their doors.
Today I will be talking about the automotive company Oldsmobile. I will be talking about the history
of the brand, where did the company started, the target market, the most popular unit sold, the reason I

born in Geneva, Ohio on June 3rd 1864 he passed away on August 26th 1950 at the age of 86. Ransom

It was a huge year for Oldsmobile. The key makes of their sales was their designe, the costumers

America s bestselling car on the market. The company was so popular that they displace some of its

Later in 1977, General Motors was starting to struggle with Oldsmobile, they eventually had to change
their V8 engine with the Chevrolet 350engine because of the Federal emissions specifications. This
has started a public relations nightmare with GM. However they never stop trying to do something

Hearing The Differences Of The Deaf Culture
Hearing the differences
According to the World Health Organization, there are 360 Million people in this world who live with
a debilitating hearing loss. Hearing loss and deafness is more common than what it s perceived to be.
Hearing individuals may view people with a type of loss as a minority. Every minority group has their
story to tell. The Deaf have a very unique story, but they are not a minority group but rather a culture.
Carol Paden author of Inside Deaf Culture defines a culture as a group of people that share language,
values, rules of behavior, and traditions. The Deaf culture is unlike any other culture seen before and it
differentiates from the typical American culture in many ways. The difference of this culture that
makes them special is that they are a culture that has not been passed by residence, nationality, or
percentage. They are a minority but they are not defined as a minority group. The Deaf defiantly don t
have as many privileges as the hearing culture such as being heard and often being underestimated and
discriminated for their disability.
When examining the Deaf culture the idea of family has deep roots of communication, support,
advocacy and self identity. Not every person who is deaf or hard of hearing is part of the Deaf term,
which excludes him or her from the Deaf culture.
Holcomb, Author of Introduction to American Deaf culture states that the term Deaf refers to an
individual who uses ASL, identifies as a member of Deaf culture, and

ABSTRACT
Crime and corruption have become rampant today in our society and countless money is lost each year
due to white collar crime, fraud, and embezzlement.
This paper presents a technique of an ongoing work to combat white collar crime in telephone
transactions by identifying and verifying speakers using Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs). Results
are presented to show the potential of this technique.

Often after a long legal battle, the victims are left with a worthless judgement and no recovery.
One solution to avoid white collar crimes and shorten the lengthy time in locating and serving
perpetrators with a judgement is by the use of biometrics techniques for identifying and verifying
individuals. Biometrics are methods for recognizing a user based on his/her unique physiological
and/or behavioural characteristics. These characteristics include fingerprints, speech, face, retina, iris,
hand written signature, hand geometry, wrist veins, etc. Biometric systems are being commercially
developed for a number of financial and securit applications. Many people today have access to their
company s information systems by logging in from home. Also, internet services and telephone
banking are widely used by the corporate and private sectors. Therefore to protect one s resources or
information with a simple password is not reliable and secure in the world of today. The conventional
methods of using keys, access passwords and access cards are being easily overcome by people with
criminal intention.
Voice signals as a unique behavioral characteristics is proposed in this paper for speaker identification
and verification over short distance telephone lines using artificial neural networks. This will address
the white collar crimes over the telephone lines. Speaker identification [1] and verification [2] over

Ma Joad Character
The Grapes of Wrath written by John Steinbeck, is a book about a family s journey in search for jobs.
The Joads travel from their small farm in Oklahoma to California when they are forced out of their
home. Steinbeck characterizes Ma Joad making decisions concerning her family in order to support
the idea that women should be in charge of their family. Ma Joad is a strong character that will not
back down without a fight when she knows there is a reason to not give up. As the Joads and Wilsons
travel from Oklahoma to Texas through highway 66, the Wilsons car starts to fail and they soon have
to pull over. Not knowing what to do, Tom suggests that the rest of the Joads and Wilsons should keep
should keep driving with the other car and Al, Casey, and him should stay behind to fix the Wilsons
car. Uncle John and Pa Joad do not find a problem in this solution, but soon enough, Ma Joad starts to
voice her concern about the family getting separated and not seeing each other. Pa gets exasperated
with Ma but she does not back down from him and she starts threatening him that nothing will change
her mind but, Pa s anger did not rise, and his hands hung limply at his sides, and in a moment the
group knew that ma had won (169). In the end, everybody except Al, Tom, and Casey decide to wait
in a campsite that is in Bakersfield while they fix the car. Clearly seen, Ma won the argument and this
is the first of many where the family did as she said. Once the car is repaired, the three

Examine the nature of the distinctive managerial, organisational and developmental characteristics of

distinctiveness for small businesses attempting to achieve sustained growth?
Entrepreneur is someone who takes a risk and initiates to take up an opportunity in the market for any
goods or service to be sold to the consumers. All decisions are made by the entrepreneur as he is the
risk taker and this obviously involves people working under him for example managers. All the capital

Buddhism And Their Beliefs Of Buddhism
Buddhism and their beliefs
Buddhism is the largest religioncultural influence in its own way. Buddhism is becoming popular and
well known in the western parts of the world. Hinduism and Buddhism share the same teaching of
karma. They both teach about the cause and effect that karma leaves on one s life. Buddhism s main
goal is to find enlightment. Siddhartha Gautama is the founder of Buddhism. He was born around 600
B.C. to a powerful family in India. He had a comfortable homewith very little experience of the
outside world. He was sheild from many outside influences such as pain, religion and suffering. He
discovered enlightment in the middle way. He discovered the Four Noble Truths : to live is to suffer
(Dukha), suffering is caused by desire (Tanha, or attachment), one can eliminate suffering by
eliminating all attachments. This is attained by following the noble eightfold path. The eightfold path
consists of having a right view, speech, action, livelihood, effort , and mindfulness. The individual
teachings are common to Hinduism. karma, Maya, and a tendency to understand reality as being
pantheistic in its placment. Buddhism today is real diverse. It is divided into the two broad categories
Of Theravada and Mahayana. Theravada is a form which reserves ultimate enlightenment and nirvana.
Mahayana Buddhism extends this goal of enlightenment. Buddha never considered himself to be a god

Bioterrorism Advantages And Disadvantages
BIOTERRORISM
INTRODUCTION
Bioterrorism is the use of infectious agents that are harmful to humans as weapons of terrorism.

Muslim Women Essay
The American media has a tendency to portray Muslims in a negative light. Some pity Muslims while
others feel pure disdain for them. This statement made by Ann Coulter (2001) following the
September 11th terrorist attacks demonstrates the disdain for Muslims, We should invade their
countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity (as cited in Arab American National
Museum, 2011). While this particular statement was directed at all Muslims, there are also many
misconceptions directed solely at Muslim women. In this essay, I will discuss the issue of Muslim
women and some of the ways in which their reality contradicts the common media representations of
women in that area. The first common media representation of ... Show more content on

A second common assumption of the Muslim women is that they are forced into marriage. While it is
true that arranged marriages do still take place in the Muslim world, the marriages are not forced upon
anyone (Ahmed, 1999). Before an arranged marriage takes place, parents and older relatives discuss
different possible matches, but the person, for whom they are searching a mate, is always involved in
the discussions (Ahmed, 1999). Then before the marriage can take place, both future spouses must
agree to the marriage in front of witnesses (Ahmed, 1999). A third common media stereotype of
Muslim women is that their sole purpose is to please their husbands. Geraldine Brooks author of the
book, Nine Parts of Desire: The Hidden World of Islamic Women wrote that Muslim women are
expected to sacrifice their comfort and freedom to service the requirements of male sexuality; either to
repress or stimulate the male sex urge (as cited in Arab American National Museum, 2011). This
stereotype is heightened by the fact that Islam allows polygamy. While Islam does allow men to take
four wives, it is only advised that they do so under extreme circumstances (Ahmed, 1999). In fact, the
Quran recommends that one wife is best because one who marries multiple wives must treat all of
them completely equal and that is a difficult task (Ahmed, 1999). Muslim women like Muslim men
play a part in the family, but their part goes way beyond simply pleasing their

Rocks in this region are from the Mesozoic and recent times and therefore are considered geologically
young compare to other regions in the state (Tew. Ebersole, 2013). The Piedmont Upland region in
East Central Alabama is composed of the oldest rocks in Alabama. In this region you will find granitic
gneiss (a gneissic rock with a general granitoid composition), amphibolite (a crystalloblastic rock
consisting mainly of amphibole and plagioclase with little or no quartz), and migmatite (a composite
of mixed rock) dating back to the Precambrian and Paleozoic ages (Schweitzer, 2013). This is the only
part of Alabama with this type of rock composition, but it is also where the southernmost part of the
Appalachian Mountains dips into Alabama. This part of the Appalachian Mountains are characterized
by low rolling hills and the reason there is a special combination of rocks in this area is because
piedmonts usually consist of the remnant of a mountain (Schweitzer, 2013). The Piedmont Upland

Data was collected via primary and secondary sources. Descriptive statistical tools for data analysis
i.e. table, histogram and graph were used in analysing data collected. The study confirmed that margin
loans have a positive effect on the stock market and investors during periods of boom and the opposite
during periods of economic downturn and further revealed that investors have little or no idea of the
terms and conditions attached to margin loan contracts.
The study therefore recommends that investors should be properly oriented on the terms and

Persuasion In Advertising Essay
The Role of Persuasion in Advertising and Compulsive Buying Persuasion can be used as one of the
most influential ways to convince people to do anything. A key way to using persuasion is to influence
the audience; there is always a catch. The persuader intends to influence the persuadee to their means
to an end or goal. Companies use persuasion in many around the world. Persuasion is worldwide,
companies are not the only ones that use it. Children use persuasion daily to convince their parents as
well as students with their professors. As previously mentioned, the act of persuading will always have
an end goal. More importantly, there is a process to persuasion especially in advertising. The process
of persuasion will begin with identifying a goal. Second, finding the right audience is important.
Third, the persuader must have a plan to how they are going to achieve the goal. Fourth, the message
is vital. This is what the persuader will use to hook the customer. The final part of this process is that
persuader must be able to convey the message.
According to a study called, The influence of advertising on compulsive buying The role of persuasion

Sport Should Be Considered A Sport

What do you consider a sport?
Football, basketball, volleyball, and many more... these are all known as common sports that people
participate in. How many people were involved in sports during high school or even now in college?
What is it that makes it a sport? Is it the time commitment? Well what about the competitiveness? We
are all used to spending hours and hours on end practicing and preparing for something whether that
be a game, a tournament, or a competition... We have all been there before. I started dancing fourteen
years ago, when I was just three years old. Growing up, some of my friends always asked me why I
wanted to be apart of something that wasn t even considered a sport, but to me it was and it was the
best thing I could have ever been involved in. Anything that consists of countless hours of practicing
and is competitive should be considered a sport. The opinions on this topic are endless, but I m going
to discuss three reasons why I believe dance should be considered a sport. Dancers practice just as
much, if not more than other sports, they compete against other teams, and dancers act like a family to
one another. Although dance is known as an art, nobody said it could not be both an art and a sport.
Dancers express themselves in a way that resembles grace and emotion, but they also show strength
and gratitude. Dancing is a physical activity that takes a lot of Arts Alive article titled Dance 101,

Then add 3 cups of the mustard greens, 2 cups of the onions, all of the bell peppers, celery, and bay
leaves. The one cup of okra and dump it all in the pot and cook, stirring occasionally to check for

My Love Of Hip Hop Dance
One of my primary interests has always been music. When music comes to my ears all I want to do is
dance. Hip hop comes in a form of art where you can express yourself with no limitations and no
rules. Having the ability to break free of the real world and to just indulge in that exact moment is
breathtaking. There is really more too hip hop dancing than people actually know. Dancing in general
has to do with a culture and it brings people together in more ways than one. I personally come from a
family where dancing is just a usual thing. My sister however, danced her whole life and even became
so serious that she competed at the highest level in South Africa. I was more into physical fitness, but I
still loved music and the hip hop scene. The older I got, the more inquisitive I became and that s when
my love for the hip hop culture expanded.
First of all, like any physical activity you need to warm up. Many people think that dancing is easy or
you won t get injured because there is no form of contact but they are seriously mistaken. To start off,
you need to choose your music. Choosing music that you are familiar with or that makes your feet
want to move on their own will be very beneficial. I always challenge myself by playing music from
other cultures to make up my own moves. It is very important to feel the beat in the song, so if you

I remember the day when I started learning hip hop and other types of dancing and how insecure I
was. I would always lock my door and play music. Whatever would come to my head I would do in
front of the mirror and this really helped me work on my weaknesses. Being alone with nobody
laughing or judging me really built up my confidence and with this I became a better dancer. I
invented my own style which was unique, and people could match it with my personality. Dancing is
not easy work, so practice should become a

Summary Of The Alchemist
1.Throughout this story, the author structured the plot in a very fulfilling manner. The plot is
constructed so that all the events that occurred are deeply connected to one another. Each of the
characters experiences correlates with their past actions and will affect the outcomes they will receive
later on in the story. A great example of this would be Santiago s encounter with the King of Salem
when Santiago was on the brink of giving up his personal legend. Santiago s encounter with the King
was the inspiration and wisdom he needed in order to set out and follow his lifelong dream. Since
most of the story revolves around Santiago s journey, it is clear that this considerable event is the basis
of The Alchemist s whole storyline. Another excellent example that proves this would be when
Santiago met the alchemist while traveling in the desert. This happened as a result of Santiago s ability
to read and interpret omens, which he learned from the King of Salem. While with the alchemist,
Santiago gained a more profound understanding on Alchemy, Personal Legends, and the Language of
the World. A large portion of the message the author wanted to pass on to the readers occurred during
Santiago s travels with the alchemist. This influential event in the story eventually led to Santiago
fulfilling his Personal legend, which was the main intention of the story, ever since its exposition.
2. I highly agree with this statement which says that as people age, pursuing our lifelong

Statistical Assumptions Of Substantive Analyses Across The...
Nimon, K. (2012). Statistical Assumptions of Substantive Analyses Across the General Linear Model:
A Mini Review. Frontiers in Psychology Front. Psychology, 3(322).
When using inferential statistics depends on the sampling technique used as well as the characteristics
of the population data. This dependency does assume that the sample and population meet certain
criteria. The criteria is called statistical assumptions, and if there are violations of these statistical
assumptions that are not addressed, than the data may not be interpreted correctly. In particular, Type I
or Type II errors may be increased or decreased incorrectly. Nimon s (2012) article focused on
assumptions associated with substantive statistical analyses across the ... Show more content on

Using unreliable data may cause underestimation which increase the probability of Type II errors. If
there is correlated error, we may see unreliable data to be overestimated which would increase the risk
of Type I errors. To satisfy the assumption of error free data, researchers may conduct and report
analyses using latent variables as opposed to observed variables. This technique is called structural
equation modeling (SEM). This is where latent variables are formed from item scores, the former of
which becomes the unit analyzed. It is important to note that SEM is a large sample technique. A
researcher can also delete a few items to raise the reliability of an observed score, but this should be
reported along with the accompanied estimated of the reliability with and without the deleted items.
Some researchers consider measurement to be an assumption while others do not. Nimon (2012) does
state because measurement levels play such a pivotal role in statistical analyses decision trees, it
would not be recommended to lower the measurement level of data unless certain characteristics are
met. This may discard important information and may produce misleading or erroneous information.
Yet another assumption, is the assumption that inferential statistics in psychological and educational
research produce population data that is normally distributed. This does depend on the analysis
conducted, such as univariate, multivariate,

Structure And Composition Of Atmosphere
Structure and Composition of Atmosphere
Earth is the only planet in the solar system known to harbour life. Our planet s rapid spin and molten
nickel iron core give rise to an extensive magnetic field, which, along with the atmosphere, shields us
from nearly all of the harmful radiation coming from the Sun and other stars. Earth s atmosphere
protects us from meteors, most of which burn up before they can strike the surface. Nitrogen and
Oxygen are the predominant gases in the atmosphere, accounting for about 99 percent of dry air.
While 1 percent is mixture of all other gases make up the remaining 1 percent. All the gases found in
the atmosphere are natural except CFCs (invented by Thomas Midgley, Jr. was an American
mechanical engineer and chemist).

Criminalization Of Prostitution Case Study
It is no secret that sex work is a growing industry, as it is essentially a commercial enterprise in our
society. Many of the people who work in this business typically turn to prostitution for economic
purposes as a result from poor education and poverty. Sex work is often linked to violence and
victimization from clients and other perpetrators, but even so, it is not always true. The expectation
that Bill C 36 will prevent harm to the susceptible portion of the population from acts of violence and
exploitation will result in prostitution being criminalized. However, the criminalization of prostitution
will lead to increased violence and stigmatization against sex workers, limited access to healthcare and
a violation of their human ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Off street workers are found in venues such as massage parlours or as escorts, whereas street based
workers work strictly on the streets and are exposed to a higher risk of violence. Increased risk
exposures to violence were found among street based workers, with levels ranging from sexual, verbal
and economic violence.
It was also learned that sex workers could control certain factors to decrease their vulnerability to
violence. Their choice of venue was a major factor, the structure of the environment they were in,
independence and their control over the services they provided to clients. Overall, what was found in
contrast to street based sex workers, the majority of off street workers in the study experienced little to
no victimization while working in this industry. The main question that we should be asking now is
what conditions are considered safe and violent free for sex workers to work under ?
Proceeding forward, by criminalizing sex work, it increases the vulnerability to HIV and interrupts
treatment. Since the criminalization of sex work, many of the laws involve the sale and purchase of
sex such a soliciting in certain public areas. Various laws interfere with HIV prevention by pushing for
condom negotiations and screening among clients. As a result, prostitutes are placed in unsafe work
environments, typically away from medical services that could be provided to them. A recent study

What Are The Main Features Of Fascist Music
How are the main ideas of Fascist doctrine reflected in Fascist music of the period? Fascism which
was the dominant ideology in Italy in the 1920 s and 1930 s had huge impact on every sphere of
Italian society as well as music. Considering the fact that all public output including music which
produced within Italian border was organized and controlled by state which reflected fascist ideas and
ambitions, it is vital to analyse several popular pieces of music in order to get complete picture about
how this particular form of art echoes the doctrine which was written by Benito Mussolini in 1932.

Theodor Herzl Research Paper
Theodor Herzl: Father of Zionism?
Theodor Herzl is often referred to today as the Father of Zionism, a man known for his role in the
establishment of a homeland for the Jewish people. His most famous pamphlet, The Jewish State,
inspired thousands of Jewish men and women from across the world, although particularly in Europe,
to leave their homes to realize the glory of creating their own homeland in Palestine. While Herzl was
originally a believer in the gradual assimilation of German and Austrian Jews into the European
cultural world, the growing anti Semitism within Europe led him to believe that the only solution to
Jewish ostracism was the creation of a separate state for Jews in Palestine. Although Theodor Herzl
became, over the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He also believed that the Jewish religion was one in a state of moral decay and rot. Herzl believed that
centuries long imprisonment in the ghetto had isolated Jews from the mainstream of history, rendering
them superstitious and fanatic and made them physically weak, cowardly, and incapable of honest,
manual labor (Kornberg 21 2). Herzl was disgusted by what he viewed as the deterioration and filth of
the Jewish religion, but at the same time his view that it centuries of domination held the Jew in such a
state gave him hope for the future of Judaism after its people were released from the yoke of
oppression.
It was during Theodor Herzl s youth and early adolescence that a period of anti clericalism arose in the
Germanic world, due mainly to Pope Pius IX and his ringing declaration that all religions were not
equal and toleration of any religion other than Catholicism was condemned. This sparked a period of
great animosity towards the Church, primarily among writers and the artistic community (Kornberg
14).
The struggle against the Catholic church in Germany during the 1870s marked a high point of liberal
influence and came to be called, in a term coined by a prominent liberal, the Kulturkampf, or the great
struggle for civilization in the interests of humanity. In the course of the 1870s, civil marriage was
legalized in Germany, church supervision of public education was eliminated, and the state took

The Occupational Health And Safety Standards
As safety practitioners, we need to understand that procedures can be the nemesis of any occupational
health and safety (OHS) management system. Getting it wrong can be the difference between success
and failure in safety compliance.
Sometimes procedures are created too rigid and bureaucratic, and other times they re non specific and
ineffectual. The point is no one wants to be under the burden of unnecessary or unusable procedures.
What is needed is the right balance of simple instructions that are easy to read and comprehend.
Developing your Safety Procedures
Procedures should communicate to employees what they need to know to do their job safely. Here are

Always consider the following options:
Flowchart This shows a process as a simple diagram. By using a series of symbols and arrows to
indicate flow and action you can outline a process and make it easy to follow.
Tip: Don t complicate your chart with too many symbols or too much text. It should flow naturally
from start to finish and be structured in a logical way.
Photographs or Diagrams Are commonly used especially where there is difficulty in communicating
due to illiteracy or use of multiple languages. The main goal of visualisation is to make it possible to
absorb large amounts of data quickly.
Tip: The saying A picture is worth a thousand words refers to the notion that a complex idea can be
conveyed with just a single still image. However just make sure you check that your image or diagram
is saying the right words to employees.
Step 4: Writing Style.
Remember when you write you need to consider the end user, the person who has to read and
understand your procedure. To ensure success adopt the following simple rules of writing;
Use plain everyday English words or local language. The use of uncommon, long or complex words
or sentences should be avoided where possible.
Keep to short paragraphs and avoid using too many words. Just be specific enough to communicate
clearly.
Write at the appropriate reading level.
Try to keep the procedure itself to a reasonable size

Analysis Of The Movie Black Swan By Darren Aronofsky
I had the craziest dream last night about a girl who has turned into a swan, but her prince falls for the
wrong girl and she kills herself. These anticipated words can be heard through the protagonist, Nina
Sayers, in the captivating film Black Swan directed by Darren Aronofsky which follows a delicate and
innocent committed ballet dancer who gains the lead role in the production Swan Lake . Forcing her to
break out of her innocence and come in touch with her dark side, creating the psychological struggle
of maintaining her sanity. I found this ambiguous film very artistic and thought provoking as it
presents intriguing concepts and themes I interpreted that resonated with me, such as the idea of
perfectionism, the confinement of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nina practices every day trying to reach the perfect performance but can never lose herself as the
Black Swan. I anticipate that when a person is obsessed with one thing, other things in life become
neglected, and for Nina s case, her growth and maturity is neglected because of her commitment to
ballet since a very young age. She became so focused on dancing that she had no room for personal
development, which affects her Black Swan performance and makes her feel useless as she feels
incomplete without achieving perfection. Her self idealisation and desire for perfection cause her
emotional and mental instability, resulting in her developing terrifying hallucinations and paranoia due
to the amount of her pressure from the dual role, fueled by her obsession. This made me understand
Aronofsky s purpose and the logical portrayal of how striving for perfection can lead to destructive
consequences and result in unrealistic and obsessive behaviours. As the idea of perfect can be difficult
to obtain, and when we expect so much from ourselves and fail to reach those standards, we
immediately feel worthless. This also relates to me personally, as I tend to form these high
expectations of myself and become such a perfectionist when it comes to creating something that
would genuinely prove what I m capable of, this sometimes even leads me to avoid the subject
because of the pressure of perfection and the fear of being defined as

The Laws And The Law
into law, similar to Hobbes. The fact that Bentham thought that a governments law is final does not
mean that this ruling entity has absolute power. Bentham felt that the power within the government
should be divided and thereby giving no one section too much power, allowing all entities of a
sovereign to govern equally. Moreover, these ideas would be backed by sanctions to positively enforce
the law allowing people to receive some sort or social reward for following the rules and provide a
punishment for those who chose to break them. Thereby encouraging people to follow the law and
discouraging unfavorable behavior. With this idea of pleasurable and punishable sanctions, Bentham
theorized a Principle of Utility. This principle was based on a persons need for pleasure and avoidance
of pain. The Utility Principle was used by Bentham to measure the effect a law has on the people. This
tool was used to suggest that all codified law were only worthy of being law were as uncodified or
common law, or English law during his time, was not meant to become enacted into law. In opposition
to Bentham, a jurist by the name of John Austin theorized a contrasting idea to Bentham s outlook on
governing. Austin s beliefs of governance was similar to Bentham, but with different conclusions.
Austin relied more on morals to create law. These morals he conveyed, derived from scriptural
elements. Austin believed that all morals are illustrated through the teachings of a higher power and

Amazon intended to benefit from cross selling on the basis that it already has a loyal installed base in
place. (Krishnamurthy, 2004) Amazon also benefited from economies of scope as its basic
infrastructure is already in place and highly scalable.
Three building blocks complement this: Amazon s feedback system, recommendation system and its
buy/sell system. Its recommendation system accounts for 35% of Amazon s sales as customers are
more inclined to buy a product based on the strength of the reviews of other customers. It also brought
repeated purchasers that account for 66% of sales. (Salehnejad, 2012)
Also, Amazon has emphasized on building several distribution centers around the world to hasten
deliveries (Hof and Himelstein, 1999). Coupled with its software it provides a laser like focus on the
buying experience (IT Business Edge, 2012). Such a system and service is what draws customers
towards Amazon and subsequently retains them.
In 1999, Amazon became a merchant platform by introducing zShop, a new service that allows anyone
to sell merchandise through its website . (Moore, 1999) It not only creates extra revenue from the
$9.99 monthly subscription fee from sellers but also 60 cents per transaction for payments made with
1 Click, as well as 4.75 percent of the final sale . (Moore, 1999)

  • 2. Unjust Laws In Martin Luther King s Letter From A... Rules and regulations govern almost every public activity in the United Sates. These are laws created and enforced by legal authorities to safeguard order, justice, and security in society. Laws help mediate the relationship people and groups have with one another, and outlines a general code of conduct, defining what good law abiding citizens ought to do, according to society. Laws are universally applicable, and carry with them certain punishments and restrictions for violations or misuse. In places where laws either do not exist or are minimally enforced, then insecurity and chaos are the norm. Despite the benefits of laws, there are instances when they fail to advocate equally for all members of its society. These are unjust laws, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An example of this inconsistency was famously described by Martin Luther King, Jr., in his Letter from a Birmingham Jail in 1963. While in jail for having committed an act of non violent protest, King invokes these principles to defend his actions and appeal to the Southern white clergy, courts and citizens to stand behind civil rights protests and fight against injustice. In his response, King calls the laws that oppress black citizens through legal segregation, fear and violence as unjust and his duty to disobey. For King, An unjust law is a human law that is not rooted in eternal law and natural law (King). The laws King fought to change did not have any of the characteristics Aquinas outlined. They expressed the whims of the white citizens and their desires to remain segregated. The laws forced on black citizens were also created without their input and unjustly applied with disregard to their well being and humanity. The philosophy of natural law allowed King to resist and disobey unjust laws, and instead advocate for the common good. Without his example of civil disobedience, it may have taken longer to achieve a substantial shift in civil rights and equality, affecting the happiness and well being of many people across the United ... • 3. Social Cost The Social Costs of Academic Success across Ethnic Groups is a study conducted by Thomas E. Fuller Rowell and Stacy N. Doan in 2010. The main intention behind this research was to explore the long term comparison between academic achievement and social acceptance across different ethnic groups in a sample of adolescents. In order to find out the race/ethnicities as well as social acceptance of the participants they conducted in home interviews. In order to find the GPA, they utilized self reports. The results of this research show that social acceptance is positively correlated with GPA. African Americans and Native Americans adolescents have a bigger social cost with academic success than White adolescents do. These findings also suggested that students of Mexican decent also show different social costs within their achievement. This research article possessed many strengths. The authors did an exceptional job in including all factors such as gender, SES, ethnicity, minority groups, single parent families, school and neighborhood disadvantages in regards to its correlation with academic success. The authors also did a good job in providing support on other studies in order to make their hypotheses more credible. Another aspect of the research that I found to be a strength is the ... • 4. Pension System In Australia Overview Global retirement income systems are stretched to the limit these days. People on the verge of retiring are worse off than those who retired a decade earlier due to the rising cost of purchasing an annual flow of future income in most jurisdictions around the world. According to Glenn Stevens, governor of Reserve Bank in Australia, the global retirement income system is under a lot of pressure, and the problem must be acute in Europe, where sovereign yields in some countries are negative for significant durations. Mr. Steven s went on to say, How will an adequate flow of income be generated for the retired community in the future, in a world in which long term nominal returns on low risk assets are so low? According to Mr. Stevens, they have to accept a lot more risk to generate the expected flow of future income they want, he warned. So, in a world in which long term yields on low risk assets (i.e., bonds) are so low, what s a retiree to do? Pension systems vary across countries, and there s no single model for all. The pension landscape is changing In OECD countries. Recent reforms are changing the way pension savings are distributed. In several jurisdictions like Britain, Denmark, Australia, Holland, Sweden, Switzerland and Canada, pension reforms have allowed retirees to take control of their own retirement pots to spend as they please. The changes apply to people with defined contribution pension schemes, which both employer and employee contribute to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Hearing The Differences Of The Deaf Culture Hearing the differences According to the World Health Organization, there are 360 Million people in this world who live with a debilitating hearing loss. Hearing loss and deafness is more common than what it s perceived to be. Hearing individuals may view people with a type of loss as a minority. Every minority group has their story to tell. The Deaf have a very unique story, but they are not a minority group but rather a culture. Carol Paden author of Inside Deaf Culture defines a culture as a group of people that share language, values, rules of behavior, and traditions. The Deaf culture is unlike any other culture seen before and it differentiates from the typical American culture in many ways. The difference of this culture that makes them special is that they are a culture that has not been passed by residence, nationality, or percentage. They are a minority but they are not defined as a minority group. The Deaf defiantly don t have as many privileges as the hearing culture such as being heard and often being underestimated and discriminated for their disability. When examining the Deaf culture the idea of family has deep roots of communication, support, advocacy and self identity. Not every person who is deaf or hard of hearing is part of the Deaf term, which excludes him or her from the Deaf culture. Holcomb, Author of Introduction to American Deaf culture states that the term Deaf refers to an individual who uses ASL, identifies as a member of Deaf culture, and ... Hinduism and Buddhism share the same teaching of karma. They both teach about the cause and effect that karma leaves on one s life. Buddhism s main goal is to find enlightment. He discovered the Four Noble Truths : to live is to suffer (Dukha), suffering is caused by desire (Tanha, or attachment), one can eliminate suffering by eliminating all attachments. This is attained by following the noble eightfold path. The eightfold path consists of having a right view, speech, action, livelihood, effort , and mindfulness. This statement made by Ann Coulter (2001) following the September 11th terrorist attacks demonstrates the disdain for Muslims, We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity (as cited in Arab American National Museum, 2011). While this particular statement was directed at all Muslims, there are also many misconceptions directed solely at Muslim women. In this essay, I will discuss the issue of Muslim women and some of the ways in which their reality contradicts the common media representations of women in that area. While it is true that arranged marriages do still take place in the Muslim world, the marriages are not forced upon anyone (Ahmed, 1999). Before an arranged marriage takes place, parents and older relatives discuss different possible matches, but the person, for whom they are searching a mate, is always involved in the discussions (Ahmed, 1999). Then before the marriage can take place, both future spouses must agree to the marriage in front of witnesses (Ahmed, 1999). A third common media stereotype of Muslim women is that their sole purpose is to please their husbands. Geraldine Brooks author of the book, Nine Parts of Desire: The Hidden World of Islamic Women wrote that Muslim women are expected to sacrifice their comfort and freedom to service the requirements of male sexuality; either to repress or stimulate the male sex urge (as cited in Arab American National Museum, 2011). This stereotype is heightened by the fact that Islam allows polygamy. While Islam does allow men to take four wives, it is only advised that they do so under extreme circumstances (Ahmed, 1999). In fact, the Quran recommends that one wife is best because one who marries multiple wives must treat all of them completely equal and that is a difficult task (Ahmed, 1999). • 23. Summary Of The Alchemist 1.Throughout this story, the author structured the plot in a very fulfilling manner. The plot is constructed so that all the events that occurred are deeply connected to one another. Each of the characters experiences correlates with their past actions and will affect the outcomes they will receive later on in the story. A great example of this would be Santiago s encounter with the King of Salem when Santiago was on the brink of giving up his personal legend. Santiago s encounter with the King was the inspiration and wisdom he needed in order to set out and follow his lifelong dream. Since most of the story revolves around Santiago s journey, it is clear that this considerable event is the basis of The Alchemist s whole storyline. Another excellent example that proves this would be when Santiago met the alchemist while traveling in the desert. This happened as a result of Santiago s ability to read and interpret omens, which he learned from the King of Salem. While with the alchemist, Santiago gained a more profound understanding on Alchemy, Personal Legends, and the Language of the World. A large portion of the message the author wanted to pass on to the readers occurred during Santiago s travels with the alchemist. This technique is called structural equation modeling (SEM). This is where latent variables are formed from item scores, the former of which becomes the unit analyzed. I anticipate that when a person is obsessed with one thing, other things in life become neglected, and for Nina s case, her growth and maturity is neglected because of her commitment to ballet since a very young age. She became so focused on dancing that she had no room for personal development, which affects her Black Swan performance and makes her feel useless as she feels incomplete without achieving perfection. Her self idealisation and desire for perfection cause her emotional and mental instability, resulting in her developing terrifying hallucinations and paranoia due to the amount of her pressure from the dual role, fueled by her obsession. Bentham felt that the power within the government should be divided and thereby giving no one section too much power, allowing all entities of a sovereign to govern equally. Moreover, these ideas would be backed by sanctions to positively enforce the law allowing people to receive some sort or social reward for following the rules and provide a punishment for those who chose to break them. Thereby encouraging people to follow the law and discouraging unfavorable behavior. With this idea of pleasurable and punishable sanctions, Bentham theorized a Principle of Utility. This principle was based on a persons need for pleasure and avoidance of pain. The Utility Principle was used by Bentham to measure the effect a law has on the people.
