Linear Function And Slope
Linear functions are represented in slope intercept form, y=mx+b and are plotted on a coordinate
plane as a straight line. m represents the slope, or the measure of the steepness, of a line; b represents
the y intercept, the place where the line crosses the y axis and the value of x equals 0. Slope is
calculated by dividing the change in y by the change in x between two points, or (y_2 y_1)/(x_2 x_1 ).
Slope is commonly referred to as the average rate of change or rise/run , the change in y values (rise)
over the change in x values (run). x values of the table move the point horizontally along the x axis; y
values of the table move the point vertically along the y axis. When points of a linear function are
displayed in a table, the top number of the slope is the average rate of change in ... Show more content

As the slope becomes greater, the line will have a greater steepness when graphed. Lower slopes result
in a line closer to being horizontal. Positive slopes display a line that increases its y values as x values
increase while negative slopes display a line that decreases its y values as x values increase. Linear
functions are used to display situations with a constant rate of change. This can include miles driven
per hour or the cost of a service for an amount of time. Quadratic functions are represented by the
equation f(x)=ax^2+bx+c and are graphed in a U shape known as a parabola. A quadratic is a function
in which x^2 is the greatest power. This curve occurs when two lines are multiplied together. If the
value of a is greater than 0, the parabola is positive and opens upwards. If a is less than 0, the graph is
negative and opens downward. In order to find the vertex, the maximum or minimum value of a
quadratic, begin by finding the x coordinate, the axis of symmetry, using variables from the given
equation in ( b)/2a. Insert the x value into the function and solve to find the y coordinate of the

Indentured Servants In England s North American Colonies
Slaves existed in the England s North American colonies throughout the 1600s. However, indentured
servitude was very common before the 1680s. For half a century or so after 1620, most laborers were
indentured servants; only a small proportion were African slaves (Clark, Hewitt, Brown Jaffee, 2007
p64). Indentured servants were people who signed an indenture, a contract by which they agreed to
work for a serval number of years in exchange for transportation to colonies; in addition, they would
get food, clothing, land, and freedom. The first Indentured servants in British colonies were
introduced by the Virginia Company in 1619. At that time, there was no slave law; they had same
opportunities for freedom with whites. However, in 1641, Massachusetts ... Show more content on

Between the 1620s and the 1650s, as the tobacco economy expanded, thousands of English
immigrants flocked to Virginia and Maryland (Clark, Hewitt, Brown Jaffee, 2007 p73). Indentured
servants were used at the beginning. However, with more people came to American colonies, the
prosperity of the colonial economy, and freed servants demand of land. The colonists realized that the
indentured servants might not the best option, and they need more cheap labor. Tobacco was the main
source of income for most of the colonists. To grow tobacco plantations needed a significant amount
of land and work force. African slaves were a low price. Slaves labor produced a large number of
profits for the plantation owners. By the early eighteenth century, the rice grown on these plantations
because South Carolina s chief export, and planters turned almost exclusively to imported African
slaves for their workforce (Clark, Hewitt, Brown Jaffee, 2007 p87). By 1690, rice was growing
successful in Carolina, and the rice cultivation spread to Georgia as well. Some African slaves had
some experience of grow rice in West Africa, and the planters imported more African slaves to grow
rice. As rice economy growth, the number of white servants in Carolinas and Georgia fell, and the
population of slaves increased. That all Negroes and Indians, (free Indians in amity with this

Steep Analysis
Introduction
This paper contains a STEEP (Social, Technological, Environmental, Economical and Political)
analysis of the implications on sustainability in construction. The STEEP analysis will be based on 5
different peer reviewed journals that I have read on each area of STEEP. These journals will be cross
examined and compared to one another to see if there is any correlation between them. Firstly I will
talk about each journal and summarize what it is about; I will then try and relate the journals to each
other in some way. If one journal cannot be related to any of the others, I will state this in my
conclusion and provide a reason why there is no connection or relationship between that specific
journal and the others.

Northern Ireland s sustainable development strategies and policies are discussed next, how the
environment has been at the bottom of the investment list, and that change is coming about with the
newly proposed Sustainable Development Strategy due to come in on May 2006. The agenda of this
strategy is explained and priority areas are listed, but the paper goes on to explain that unless all
government policies are engaged, then this strategy will not work. The link between sustainable
development and health is then explained and that it doesn t make sense to have one without the other.
This link is then explained by talking about the public health strategy in Northern Ireland which ties in
with the Northern Ireland Fuel Poverty Strategy (Department of Social Development; 2004). The two
are related because the health of those who had no money for fuel deteriorated because they had to
live in cold and damp dwellings with mould on the walls.
The Author s feel that in order to promote sustainable health and development in the island of Ireland,
an integrated approach is essential which would mean that those working in Public health
organisations must work along with those from environmental health.

Donald Trump Rhetorical Analysis
According to Pew Research Center, only 20% of Americans trust the government. This decline has
occurred since the 1960s. The percentage of trust proves the beliefs of unequal representation in
American citizens. Firstly, the voter turnout in last year s election denotes this analysis. Secondly,
voters in last year s election felt voting for either candidate did not matter; for their opinions favored
no one in power. This grant is to illustrate the problem in our current government legislation is
affecting people. The project is to fill a room with two diverse groups of children quoting Donald
Trump and his rhetoric. This type of rhetoric is un American and fails to unite the country. As this
behavior displays the improper representation of the people as a whole. The project is a series of
sculptures; as they are better at showing a conceptual idea than a literal explanation of the situation.
This high level of critical thinking will challenge viewers and shock them; as the people are
responsible for this divide in politics. Therefore, what better of a shock that using children repeating
such harsh rhetoric? In the Bible, in Psalms 8:2, God ordains strength out of the mouth of babes,
meaning young children say exceptionally wise things. In contrast, when they repeat Donald Trump s
rhetoric and quotes are the children still wise? One side of the room of children will make reactionary
statements post election. The children will make statements such as, You are going to be

Motivate A Team Case Study
How to Motivate Your Team During the Least Productive Time of the Year According to recent yet
unsurprising reports, it is the cold, dark and dreary winter months, particularly in the first quarter, that
tend to be the least productive period for employees. Here s how to boost employee motivation and
productivity during the seasonal dip in team morale. January can be a difficult month for employees
returning to work, with the excessive spending and overindulgence of the holidays coupled with the
general dreariness of the season to blame for the winter blues. What s more, Britain has been suffering
from low productivity since the financial crisis of 2008, leaving a productivity gap 16% with the other
six members of the G7, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
SAD is generally triggered by the reduced number of daylight hours during winter, although cold
temperatures and weak daylight also play a part in overall feelings of malaise. During this time,
people can experience a feeling of general unhappiness, fatigue, anxiety or depression as the days get
shorter and colder, which can also be accompanied by increased eating, trouble sleeping as well as
feelings of confusion, forgetfulness and lack of concentration. While this condition is quite common in
the UK and countries with varying seasons, employers should not overlook it as it can have a serious
effect on staff productivity, motivation, morale and even their physical and mental wellbeing. While
employers cannot change the weather, you should look at your office environment and how to make it
more pleasant for staff. Feeling too cold is one of the most cited complaints among employees and
contributes towards the seasonal productivity drops in the office. Research suggest that keeping the
office temperature at 21 degrees Celsius is ideal for optimal results. Adding additional lighting and
colours can also do wonders in boosting the mood of your staff, while providing healthy snack
alternatives to cakes and cookies at meetings and in the office can reduce the calories associated with
comfort eating. Employees are More Prone to Irritability in January According to research, employees
can also experience higher irritability during the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Employees
5.3 .2 Disadvantages
Apart from the advantages offered by captives, there are some factors that limit captive expected
performance.
These include:
Lack of market co operation.
Lack of adequate statistics.
Government control.
Insurance nationalism.
Tied up capital.
Reinsurance cost.
While companies form captives with the initial motive of underwriting its parent s risks, they are
likely to need the cooperation of the market. Sometime market co operation is very difficult to get,
especially in a very difficult insurance market environment where the possibility of creating a parent
company is either not available or it is possible only at exorbitant cost.
Also, if the risk being put into a captive is of an uninsurable nature ... Show more content on

The growth of captives has been gradual in the early stage until the 1960s, and 1970s, when a
substantial expansion took place. The growth may be seen as a clear evidence of the demand by
corporations and institutions for a greater level of cost efficiency and response to new problems of risk
management.
The coming of captives brought significant changes in the business environment of risk management
and even greater changes are envisaged to occur in the future. The changes captives brought along
have affected many including commercial insurers and reinsurers, government bodies, the operation of
insurance agents and brokers in the distribution systems for insurance. The effects are felt in the
competitive pressure experienced by the traditional insurance market brought about by captive
presence, which has brought about important underwriting changes among the commercial insurers.
The current method of rate making by commercial insurers is altered significantly because of the
growing importance of captive, since current rating classes now tend to be broad, permitting the
average insurer to operate in a fairly level and stable rate structure across industries. Thus, firms with
relatively favourable loss experience are contributing to losses of those with poorer experience.
Captives constituted a big threat for the conventional insurance because they have a lot going for
them. The traditional insurance market did not welcome captive movement because it saw the
movement as a threat to its share of the insurance market. They were made to accept captives when
they realised that many businesses were flourishing as a result of captive activities and they benefited
directly and indirect from those

Dogs Are Basically Carnivores
Some dog owners don t pay much attention to their store bought dog food, but a growing group is
pondering the feasibility of making their own meals for their dogs. Understanding the whys and hows
of this process can help you make an informed decision.
Dogs Are Basically Carnivores
Dogs are often classified as omnivores because they can eat a small amount of grains, fruits, and
vegetables. However, they tend to do their best on a meal that focuses heaviest on meat, including
bones, with a light mixture of grain and a few vegetables. This is why so many people are turning to
homemade diets.

White Characters In The Great Debaters In The Great Debaters
During the mid 1930 s, racism against coloured people was a very prominent topic in America. In the
Film The Great Debaters created by Denzel Washington and Oprah Winfrey, the debate team and their
fellow African Americans are truly discouraged by the white characters. However, these ambitious
individuals decide to stick to their goals and push for success. James is one of the main protagonists in
the film who progressively becomes more confident. The whole team also perceived racism and hate
in such a way that made them want to bring change in their own, and their people s lives. Despite
oppression, the film demonstrates that the minority are still motivated to succeed. James Farmer Jr. is
arguably a very insecure individual, although, as the film progresses his confidence does as well. To
begin, James stood up against his father when his father made inaccurate assumptions about him. For
instance, when James came home late at night, his father thought that he had been out with a girl and
drinking. He used to be a nervous child who would just listen and apologize to his father right away.
However, progression is shown in James character when he decides to protest against his father s false
accusations. He displayed a lot of emotion to get his message across as he showed tears and even
raised his voice. Evidently, James shows that he now has a voice as he now decides to go against his
father s wrong claims. He believes that he needs to stand up for himself as a result of

The, The Inner World Of The Outcast
Essay 1: Fantastical Realities in the works of Tim Burton I get so tired of people saying, Oh, you only
make fantasy films and this and that , I m like Well no, fantasy is reality , that s what Lewis Carroll
showed in his work, spoke animator, writer, producer, and director Tim Burton in regards to the
themes of depression, isolation, and fear within his collection of work. Influenced by Gothic fiction
and the art and film movements of Expressionism, Surrealism, and Noir, Burton crafts the inner world
of the outcast and explores the ideas of Jungian and Freudian psychoanalysis in his films, particularly
in Vincent (1982), Beetlejuice (1988), and Edward Scissorhands (1990). This paper will explore
Burton s aesthetics of chiaroscuro lighting, color symbolism, and composition to recreate the realism
of human emotions through the eyes of a misunderstood character s solitude in a highly fantastical
world. Burton breaks conventions of narrative Hollywood cinema and focuses less on the script, but
largely on the psyche of the character and the visual outer world that portrays their inner anxieties.
Although, Burton s films are directly influenced by the work of Fritz Lang, F.W. Murnau, Robert
Wiene, and Salvador Dali, he creates his own auteur style by mapping out the psychological journey
of his characters through symbolic hand drawn concept and costume designs that mirrors his own
struggles of displacement throughout his life. In Tim Burton s 1982 debut children s horror

A Rose for Emily Essay
Desperation for love arising from detachment can lead to extreme measures and destructive actions as
exhibited by the tumultuous relationships of Miss Emily in William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily (rpt.
in Thomas R. Arp and Greg Johnson, Perrine s Literature: Structure, Sound, and Sense, 9th ed.
[Boston: Wadsworth, 2006] 556). Miss Emily is confined from society for the majority of her life by
her father, so after he has died, she longs for relations that ironically her longing destroys. The
despondency and obsession exuded throughout the story portray the predicament at hand. Miss Emily
s relationship with her father is a key factor in the development of her isolation. As she is growing up,
he will not let anybody around his daughter, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Miss Emily finds somebody, though, it quickly pushes her to desperation. Her relationship with
Homer Barron is a result of the life and death of her father. Ironically, he is a northern, roughneck
Yankee, the exact opposite of any connection a Grierson would consider. Unsuspectingly, Emily is
attracted to him, which is an oddity itself considering her lack of personality and his obvious
charisma, for whenever you [hear] a lot of laughing...Homer Barron [will] be in the center of the
group (560). He is also the first man to show an interest in her without her father alive to scare him
off. The town is doubtful that the pair will remain together, but Emily s attachments are extreme, as
seen when she would not surrender her father s body. The circumstance exhibits how her feelings are
greatly intensified towards Homer. However, he is not a marrying man (561). When it appears as
though he will leave her, she kills him with poison. While seemingly the opposite effect of love,
killing Homer is quite in line with her obsession. If he is dead and she keeps Homer all to herself,
Emily will never lose him; he can never leave her. Other such details that express her extreme
attachments appear as she buys him clothes and toiletries before they are even considered married.
There is also the revelation at the end of the story that she has been keeping his body for over thirty
years and sleeping with it, clearly demonstrating her overt desperation

Reflective Essay On Religion
Throughout my life I have been lost and confused when it comes down to one aspect of life, religion. I
felt out of place in scripture class freshman year because I knew close to nothing about Catholicism
and about who God is. Up until my time at Brophy, I did not even really consider religion to be a part
of my life. I rarely thought about God and the only times I did were times that were selfish and when I
thought I needed help. Like before a big game I would ask him to help me get a hit, or crossing my
fingers when it was the final play of a game and hoping God would help. Looking back that s because
I did not truly know who God is, and I m not saying I do now, but I for sure have a greater
understanding through my experience and research. In chapter two I explored who God is and was
able to find a good connection of who God is through the words of Reverend Doctor William Barry.
Barry brings up the idea of how God and is like our parents in a way how they provide us with
comfort and are always there when we need them. This I agree with because I believe that the best
way that I have encountered God through my time at Brophy has been through the actions with others,
not only my parents, but I have been reinforced that God can be found in simple ways. In my first
experience with getting my dog Harper I talked about how that was one of the only strong evidences
that I have of God working in my life. And this is most likely because I feel that God was acting as a
parent to me

In order to understand the phenomenon of the unequal nature of citizenship in the United States, the
true intent of citizenship in the U.S. must be examined. To help define U.S. citizenship I will analyze
the arguments made by Scholar Rebecca Tsosie in her work, The Politics of Inclusion: Indigenous

that the nation was originally constructed to be inclusive and equal to all people under the

that counter this claim. Tsosie makes two main claims about U.S. citizenship; that equality is not

Income inequality has no necessary connection with poverty, the lack of material resources for a

robots can perform the job faster and quicker; however, they are taking overs people s jobs and forcing
them to find lower paying jobs. In the article Is Technological Innovation Making Society More

The Effectiveness Of Brand Placement
Purpose
This article investigates the effectiveness of brand placement in movies. Brand placement is an
advertising technique used by companies to promote their products through a non traditional
advertising technique, usually through appearances in film, television, or other media (Product
Placement, n.d.). Previous studies have shown that not all brand placements are equally effective.
Early studies have shown mixed results regarding the consumer s ability to remember the brand
appearing in the film or television. Additionally, placement has shown weak or non existent results
towards brand attitude. The authors of this study investigated the interaction of prominence (how
prominently the brand is represented in the movie) and plot connection (how well the placement is
related to the movie s story line) on actual moviegoer s recognition of brands and their attitude
towards them (Dens, DePelsmacker, Wouters, Purnawirawan, 2012).
Methodology
The authors indicated that their research was one of the first to study the impact of brand placement
characteristics on brand attitude, and the effect of brand recognition in this process. They conducted a
thorough literature review and developed eight hypotheses regarding the following: the effects of
prominence on brand recognition and attitude, the impact of plot connection on brand recognition and
attitude, the interaction between prominence and plot connection, and the mediating role of brand
recognition in brand attitude

Who Is Polonius Pit Ophelia
Question 1
The best description for Polonius would be how shrewd and senile he was. He did want the best for
both of his children but he did it in the worst manners. See you now your bait of falsehood take this
carp of truth. (2.1, 69 70) This shows how much lack of confidence he had in Laertes when he went to
college. Polonius has little faith in Laertes that he needs a spy to find out if Laertes has committed a
wrongdoing. This proves how shrewd of a man Polonius is because he has a sharp judgment, but he
also follows his judgments to extremes.
Another example is when Polonius pit Ophelia into a rough discussion with Hamlet. He wants her to
talk with them even after they broke up, but Polonius wants to prove Hamlet is mad. He beseeched me
to entreat your Majesties to hear and see the matter. (3.1, 24 25) Polonius is blaming Hamlet for them
to spy on him. He also needs a way to prove that he is insane and uses his own daughter just to prove
it. This shows that he was senile because of how he is weak in his head for using his own child to find
out if a man is crazy or not. While this horrid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He claimed he loved her dearly, but that isn t true because of the talk he had with her about Hamlet.
Forward, not permanent, sweet, not lasting, the perfume and suppliance of a minute, No more. (1.3 10
11) If he didn t speak his opinion about Hamlet she would probably stay with him. Then, even after
Polonius told her to not be with him, she would still think he is a worthy man to be with since her
brother didn t protest the relation. This would cause a different chain reaction because if she stayed
with Hamlet he would have told her his plan and they would stay together. Then she would have
someone while she was going through a rough time, but since they were not together she had no one
to seek help from. Since Laertes intervened with her and Hamlet, that made her ambivalent because
she really looked up to

The Legend Of Zelda s Mask
What is the most mysterious video game you have ever played? The Legend of Zelda: Majora s Mask
is by far the darkest entry in the series (Beast). Majora s Mask, the mysterious pastime that gave its
creators nightmares, is not only one of the best participants in the Legend of Zelda series, but also one
of the top games of all time. Even though it had a slow start, because Nintendo s rival released the
PlayStation 2, a few days after Majora s Mask was released, in spite of this, it still claimed its spot as
one of the greatest technological amusements of all time (Luckerson). Majora s Mask received many

The mask finally now free, immediately began its plot to destroy the earth. Skull Kid summoned the

Link swiftly solved everyone s problems and re ascended the moon back to space.
This three day period is not only an excellent addition to the story, but it is also a great challenge for
players. Time steadily passes in the game while you play, with the daylight giving way to the night...
(Stratton 14). Each day is 18 minutes long, allowing for a whopping 54 minutes of game time

Majora s Mask, time seems to stand still. The developers did not leave players without a remedy for
this time limit though; they provided players with the Ocarina of Time.
Given to Link by Princess Zelda, this magical instrument calls forth legendary powers to aid Link in
his quest (Stratton 21). The most useful way that Link can use the Ocarina of Time is to slow time
down, which doubles those precious 54 minutes into 108 stress free minutes. In addition to this, Link
can use his Ocarina is to travel back to the dawn of the first day of the story. This allows him another

My Philosophy of Teaching
Philisophical teaching stratigies include the following disciplines, essentialism, existentialism, and

Qing Dynasty Religion
Foreign religions had a great impact during the Qing dynasty as they influenced a vast amount of
regions in China. The religions inflicted internal conflicts within China, causing people to dislike the
Qing government. However, when Sun Yat sen established a republic in China, he resolved many of
the conflicts that the Qing governments have developed between them and Chinese citizens.
The transition from the Ming Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty created a heavy emphasis on the repression
of Muslims in China. When the Qing Dynasty rose to power, they discriminated Muslims and

the Taiping rebellion came to their end in the hands of Li Hongzhang and Zeng Guofan. In 1988, when

The Political Stream is made up of many different aspects public mood, pressure group campaigns,

The Minoans and Mycenaeans Essay
The Minoans and Mycenaeans were both from the Greek era. They differentiated quite a bit between
each other. While the Minoans were peaceful people, the Mycenaeans were brutal and warlike. These
two civilizations help the people of today learn about ancient culture. Although the two places were
varied much from one another, the cultures wrote the most understandable historical evidence about
themselves. This paper will tell how these close regions compared and contrasted. The Mycenaeans

originated from the island of Crete, which was more Asian than it was European. This island was
based around merchants and trades, the Minoans top quality. The civilization gained much power from
sailing to nearby islands and mainlands while dealing with the people there. Crete was a very fertile
farming land, that was perfect for growing props. Because the land was so plentiful with nutrients, it
was easier for the Minoans to reproduce and create a larger population. Eventually the population
became so large, the land was stripped of agriculture. People sailed to nearby islands of the Aegean
Sea and began lives there as well. The culture of the Minoans spread throughout the lands, the
religion, and their government also were spread. While spreading their knowledge, the civilization
became very advanced sailors. They became exporters of wine, oil, jewelry and finely crafted works.
The Minoans peaceful nature had them focusing on art. They excelled at pottery, and shaping stones
into jewelry. The architecture on buildings were defined and well thought over as well. Along with art,
they had a knack for writing, typically it helps us figure out what a civilizations history was like. The

The Education System Of Education Essay
There s a lot going on in today s society from the election, roads, taxes, even killer clowns. I m going
to talk about today s education system. Since the education being taught in the schools is for the
generations to come. People need education to have a stable life in this country, to get a good job, and
to support themselves financially. Therefore, are need to improve education overall.
First, the students being taught in the classes are based on technology. We already know how
technology is carrying how students perform in education. But in education today kids and students
are surrounded by it. When I was elementary or even middle school there was no such thing as an Ipad
or a Chromebook. The school board is making students feel like it s a necessity to have in class
everyday. I see kids at the age of 6 or 7 asking for their Ipad or chromebook for homework. I ask
myself is this really how the school board wants to teach the future generation of students? Students
are so used to using PowerPoint and Word at such a young age.
Secondly, the lack of teachers and the lack of people who want to be teachers is creating problems.
Teachers have been going on strike in different committees in the US. The most this class would know
about is how Mchenry high schools teachers went on strike. We don t pay our teachers enough for
what they do. The teachers in the US barely make enough to live a nice live. Overall I think we should
pay teachers as much as doctors because a doctor

Nike has more than 700 shops and offices in more than 45 countries outside united states. Most of the
manufacturing units are based out of Asia. Nike has been accused of using sweatshops since 1970 s to
produce footwear and apparel. Throughout 1990 s Nike was heavily criticized for selling goods
produced from sweatshops. they were not only criticized for poor working conditions in Asia but were
also criticized for moving their factories from United States and taking away American jobs. Nike has
denied the claims many times, suggesting the company has no control over sub contracted factories.

Passages From The Gospels Of Mark Matthew Essay
Passages from the Gospels of Mark Matthew Throughout the New Testament Gospels, an abundance
of enriching, soulful narratives thrive and live on through their cultivated messages of hope,
compassion, miracles, and redemption. Recalling in detail the heroic life and journey of Jesus Christ,
expounding his teachings and philosophy, and revealing hidden components of God s divine nature,
the Gospels are rife with symbolism and potent imagery which are accessible to people of every faith.
The timeline of Jesus Christ s life, miracle healings, administered sermons, and selfless service to the
people he met and interacted with is encapsulated in the storyline of four texts within the Christian
Bible which have been juxtaposed with one another. When these are read together, one can observe
many fascinating parallels and similarities that make it difficult to dispute the information or messages
about the life of Jesus Christ which the Gospels disseminate. There are specific passages in the
Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John which reveal the fundamental aspects of what it means to
be a disciple, and furthermore, what it means to be a human being. This essay will address
discipleship and human nature as they appear in three passages, Mark 5: 1 20, Mark 5: 35 43, and
Matthew... By way of thorough examination and formal analysis of the scriptural text, definitions of
what it means to be a true disciple and a true human being will be discussed. In the first passage from

Dividend Policy at Fpl Group, Inc.

We believe that Ms Stark should not revise her recommendation regarding FPL. The HOLD
recommendation seems to be the most appropriate. Our judgement assumes a dividend cut from FPL.
However, this dividend cut would be a precise strategic choice rather than one dictated by financing
difficulties. Specifically, the dividend cut will raise future growth, with little effect on the stock price.
By cutting dividends, FPL can react better to future threats. After an initial panic selling triggered by

Indeed, FPL s management may see this as an opportunity to gain more share in the Industrial and
Commercial segments, making it a positive change, at least in the short term.
In order to access this opportunity however, FPL would need to address its prices and costs. Exhibit 7
shows FPL to have low some of the highest rates (per KWH) in the industry for every market
segment. These high prices are unlikely to win many new customers if retail wheeling is introduced.
Unfortunately for FPL, they also have some of the highest costs (per KWH) in the industry, which
means any reduction in prices will only see margin compression and lower their profitability further.
Lowering costs will be difficult for FPL. Since James Broadhead took over as CEO his focus on cost
reduction and quality maintenance have led FPL to achieve record results. However it may be that all
the costs which can be removed from the system have already been removed. And yet, FPL still has
some of the highest costs (per KWH) in the industry.
Finally, while it is not mentioned in the case, it may be that FPL could use the rise of retail wheeling
to expand its market outside of Florida itself. With low projections of capital expenditure anticipated
for the following years, and an ensuing dividend cut, FPL could choose to invest significantly in

Linear Programming, An Objective, Constraints, Alternative...
In order to run an organization to its best ability, operations managers can rely on linear programming
as a way to guide them in to better decision making in a more confident fashion. Linear programming
gets the most effective use out of an establishment s resources, this is always the ideal condition for
companies, and nobody wants to be knowingly throwing resources down the drain. In order for an
operations manager to successfully administer a linear programming equation, the OM must have four
requirements: an objective, constraints, alternative and linearity. An objective, because linear
programming is formulated to maximize or minimize some quantity, this is also called the objective
function. A constraint is required because having infinity options is just not logical and the OM needs
to have boundaries for the objective. The next requirement, alternative, is needed because without an
alternative there would be no question, ergo there would be no need for linear programming. The final
requirement, linearity, is expressed in the equation as an inequality, it implies proportionality and
additivity. Once an OM has these four requirement they can get to work formulating the linear
program. The most common problems are product mix problems, or two or more products produced
using a limited resource. An operations manager would start by summarizing the information that is
required to solve the issue at hand. An easy way to do this is to have a table with rows and columns

How To Solve The Objective Problem
Since there are only two variables , we can solve this problem using the Graphical Method by
graphing the set of points in the plane that satisfies the constraint set and then finding which point of
this set maximizes the value of the objective function . Each inequality constraint is satisfied by a half
plane of points, and the constraint set is the intersection of all the half planes. In the present example,
the constraint set is the five sided figure shaded in Figure 1.(2) We want to determine the point 〖(
x〗_(1 ),x_█(2@)) that maximizes the objective function . The function 〖 x〗_(1 )+ x_█(2 @)is

The linear programming problem is feasible if the constraints set is not empty , otherwise it is
infeasible . The linear programming problem is said to be unbounded when the objective function is
infinite , so it has a solution that can be made infinitely large without violating any of its constraints .
All Linear Programming Problems Can be Converted to Standard Form All problems defined as
maximizing or minimizing a linear function subjected to a linear constraints can be converted into the
form of a standard maximum problem by the following techniques : (1) A minimum problem can be
converted to standard maximum by multiplying the objective function by 1 . Also , constraints of the

However Jack almost gets caught with the harp and the giant quickly and menacingly follows him
down the gigantic beanstalk. The giant finally catches up with Jack. Jack realizing that he has done
wrong against the giant seeks to make things right with him. He comes up with a deal and presents it
to the giant whereby he has rights for visitation with the harp. In return, the giant gives Jack gold coins
so as to assist him and his mother survive. This marks the end of the tale and Jack together with his
mother live happily ever after. The moral of this story is that when as a child your parent sends you
somewhere, like the market, do exactly what you are asked. Jack had a very simple task to
accomplish, sell the cow and bring back the money home to buy food for the family. However, Jack
gets convinced by a swift talking salesman selling beans. Moral of this story, children should listen to
their parent when s/he instructs them to execute a task. The other lesson is that never let your eyes
become larger than your wallet.
Inspite of the kindness shown by the wife of the giant, Jack desires the possessions of the giant; the
gold coins, the hen laying the golden eggs together with the harp. This simple action leads Jack
towards the wrong path and this is where our next lesson comes in. What is yours is simply yours, and
what is theirs is

The Fourth Amendment And The 4th Amendment
A persons property is often what they take pride in, which makes it easy to see why the saying a mans
home is his castle is so popular and widely understood. So when the gates of their castle get knocked
down and their treasures taken; the king of the castle is left with nothing to hold as his own.
Americans right to be secure is the moat surrounding their castle, it guarantees Americans protection
against unreasonable search and seizure. The right to be secure is guaranteed in the 4th amendment of
the Bill of Rights, which is a section of the U.S. Constitution listing a citizens guaranteed rights. The
U.S. Constitution was written in 1787 but lacked the support required to be ratified; as it needed
support from 9 of the 13 states prior to its ratification. The constitution received the backing of its 9th
state after adding the Bill of Rights to the Constitution. The addition of a Bill of Rights was required
for the support of many states as one of the largest concerns the states had with the Constitution was
that the Government would have too much power and control over citizens. So the addition of a Bill or
Rights stating what the Government may or may not do as well as guaranteeing the freedoms and
rights of citizens helped end the states concerns. The support after the addition of the Bill of Rights led
to the Constitutions ratification on March 4th, 1789. As stated by the Legal Information Institute; the
Fourth Amendment guarantees [t]he right of the people to be

Potential for damage is often more obvious where levels of humidity and rainfall are high. High levels
of disease can result from just a few infected plants since each spot produces numerous conidia or
spores. The spores can be dispersal by windborne and may also be spread by splashing rain, irrigation
water, insects, and human contact. This disease could be a potential thread in other new areas with
similar agro ecology especially on Dioscoreophyllum, Rhigiocarya, Tinospora and Menispermaceae
crops.
MANAGEMENT, PREVENTION AND CONTROL
This disease can be managed by avoid overhead irrigation if it will result in prolonged leaf wetness
periods. Proper cutting and reduction of plant leaves reduce water drop on leaf surface especially by
dew and excess rain water.
Proper observance of planting distance allows sufficient sun light, air circulation and avoids disease to
move from one planting into next. Removal and proper disposal of infected plant leaves need to be
taken in order to avoid and controlling the spread of this disease. Where required to burn the infected
plant tissues when

Essay On Savagery In Lord Of The Flies
In scholarly studies, symbolism and imagery apply to enhance a reader s knowledge of theme
development. In William Golding s Lord of the Flies, the general theme is the conflict between human
inclination towards savagery and the rules of civilization. The purpose of symbolism and imagery is
essential to the theme development of civilization versus savagery. Three symbols used to illustrate
the theme of civilization versus savagery throughout the story are the conch shell, the conflict between
Jack and Ralph and the hunter s painted faces.
First, the conch shell is a symbol of civilization versus savagery throughout the story. At the start point
of the novel, the conch shell is used to represent social conduct, authority, and unity among the boys,
which brings them together through civilization. The group of boys describe the conch as power and
use it to express the unity among themselves, I ll give the conch to the next person to speak. He can
hold it when he s speaking... and won t be interrupted (Golding 31). From what has been said, the
group of boys showed civilized behaviour through the influence of the conch, to affect rules and to
prevent savagery. As the novel advances, the conch shell becomes weak as Jack disobeys the authority
of the conch. On the mountain, Jack does not adhere to the significance of the conch when it is in
Piggy s possession, The conch doesn t count on top of the mountain... so you shut up (42). Essentially,
Jack does not accept the

It is a painting of two men riding on a beach. Another piece of wonderful German art is by Caspar
David Friedrich and it is called Wanderer above the sea of fog. This painting is of a man standing
above a sea of fog. This paint also has wonderful details to the fog to make it look real and to the man
to make him look very realistic. The way the waves come crashing on the rocks and splashing give it a
very vivid look. The last but not the least wonderful painting in Germany. This one is by Albrecht
Dürer it is a printmaking. This printmaking is called Dürer s Rhinoceros. When first looking at this
picture it appears to be a rhinoceros going to war. After researching the picture it appeared to be
molded off of an Indian rhinoceros. This is beautiful printmaking that is very detailed and almost

13th Amendment Pros And Cons
James Madison, primary author of the Bill or Rights and a Representative, introduced 20 amendments
on June 8, 1789. The House of Representatives passed 17 amendments, and then they were sent to the
Senate for approval. The Senate in turn altered the 17 amendments into 12 articles. During the 1789
Joint Resolution of Congress, Congress agreed on the 12 amendments. It was then necessary that three
fourths of the states formulated their approval. At that moment, the tenth amendment was previously
numbered as the twelfth article. However, since two of the articles were not ratified, the remaining
articles were then renumbered and thus, the Tenth Amendment was born on December 15, 1791 with
its inclusion in the Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights was added to gain much of the anti federalists
support and confidence after the downfall of the Articles of Confederation. In order to avoid this
problem in the future the Framers included the Necessary and Proper Clause in Article One of the
Constitution. This gave Congress the power to make all laws which shall be necessary and proper for

It began its existence with a wide array of supported. Not even the Anti Federalists were against its
approval. It was actually their persistence in decentralizing the power of the federal government so
that the states would have more power that drove the Founders to stipulate this amendment. The
nation as a whole held no one who opposed it. They actually saw it as a way to deter the existence of
the problems the country had had to face under British rule, as well as the problems that occurred
under the Articles of Confederation. The only modification that the Tenth Amendment concurred
during its proposal was its numeration, as it used to be the 12th article when Congress proposed it to
the state legislature. However, since two were not ratified, it then became the Tenth

Power Series Method For Solving Linear Differential Equations
ABSTRACT In this work, we studied that Power Series Method is the standard basic method for
solving linear differential equations with variable coefficients. The solutions usually take the form of
power series; this explains the name Power series method. We review some special second order
ordinary differential equations. Power series Method is described at ordinary points as well as at
singular points (which can be removed called Frobenius Method) of differential equations. We present
a few examples on this method by solving special second order ordinary differential equations.
Key words ; Power series, differential equations, Frobenius Method, Lengendre polynomials
1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
The attempt to solve physical problems led gradually to Mathematical models involving an equation
in which a function and its derivatives play important role. However, the theoretical development of
this new branch of Mathematics Differential Equations has its origin rooted in a small number of
Mathematical problems. These problems and their solutions led to an independent discipline with the
solution of such equations an end in itself (Sasser, 2005).
1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The research work seeks to find solutions of second order ordinary differential equations using the
power series method.
1.3 AIM AND OBJECTIVES
The aim and objectives of the study are to: Describe the power series method. Use it to solve linear
ordinary differential equations with

  • 3. Linear Function And Slope Linear functions are represented in slope intercept form, y=mx+b and are plotted on a coordinate plane as a straight line. m represents the slope, or the measure of the steepness, of a line; b represents the y intercept, the place where the line crosses the y axis and the value of x equals 0. Slope is calculated by dividing the change in y by the change in x between two points, or (y_2 y_1)/(x_2 x_1 ). Slope is commonly referred to as the average rate of change or rise/run , the change in y values (rise) over the change in x values (run). x values of the table move the point horizontally along the x axis; y values of the table move the point vertically along the y axis. When points of a linear function are displayed in a table, the top number of the slope is the average rate of change in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the slope becomes greater, the line will have a greater steepness when graphed. Lower slopes result in a line closer to being horizontal. Positive slopes display a line that increases its y values as x values increase while negative slopes display a line that decreases its y values as x values increase. Linear functions are used to display situations with a constant rate of change. This can include miles driven per hour or the cost of a service for an amount of time. Quadratic functions are represented by the equation f(x)=ax^2+bx+c and are graphed in a U shape known as a parabola. A quadratic is a function in which x^2 is the greatest power. This curve occurs when two lines are multiplied together. If the value of a is greater than 0, the parabola is positive and opens upwards. If a is less than 0, the graph is negative and opens downward. In order to find the vertex, the maximum or minimum value of a quadratic, begin by finding the x coordinate, the axis of symmetry, using variables from the given equation in ( b)/2a. However, indentured servitude was very common before the 1680s. For half a century or so after 1620, most laborers were indentured servants; only a small proportion were African slaves (Clark, Hewitt, Brown Jaffee, 2007 p64). Indentured servants were people who signed an indenture, a contract by which they agreed to work for a serval number of years in exchange for transportation to colonies; in addition, they would get food, clothing, land, and freedom. The first Indentured servants in British colonies were introduced by the Virginia Company in 1619. At that time, there was no slave law; they had same opportunities for freedom with whites. The colonists realized that the indentured servants might not the best option, and they need more cheap labor. Tobacco was the main source of income for most of the colonists. The STEEP analysis will be based on 5 different peer reviewed journals that I have read on each area of STEEP. Firstly I will talk about each journal and summarize what it is about; I will then try and relate the journals to each other in some way. If one journal cannot be related to any of the others, I will state this in my conclusion and provide a reason why there is no connection or relationship between that specific journal and the others. Northern Ireland s sustainable development strategies and policies are discussed next, how the environment has been at the bottom of the investment list, and that change is coming about with the newly proposed Sustainable Development Strategy due to come in on May 2006. The agenda of this strategy is explained and priority areas are listed, but the paper goes on to explain that unless all government policies are engaged, then this strategy will not work. The link between sustainable development and health is then explained and that it doesn t make sense to have one without the other. This link is then explained by talking about the public health strategy in Northern Ireland which ties in with the Northern Ireland Fuel Poverty Strategy (Department of Social Development; 2004). The two are related because the health of those who had no money for fuel deteriorated because they had to live in cold and damp dwellings with mould on the walls. January can be a difficult month for employees returning to work, with the excessive spending and overindulgence of the holidays coupled with the general dreariness of the season to blame for the winter blues. While this condition is quite common in the UK and countries with varying seasons, employers should not overlook it as it can have a serious effect on staff productivity, motivation, morale and even their physical and mental wellbeing. While employers cannot change the weather, you should look at your office environment and how to make it more pleasant for staff. Feeling too cold is one of the most cited complaints among employees and contributes towards the seasonal productivity drops in the office. These include: Lack of market co operation. Lack of adequate statistics. Government control. Insurance nationalism. Tied up capital. Reinsurance cost. While companies form captives with the initial motive of underwriting its parent s risks, they are likely to need the cooperation of the market. The growth of captives has been gradual in the early stage until the 1960s, and 1970s, when a substantial expansion took place. The growth may be seen as a clear evidence of the demand by corporations and institutions for a greater level of cost efficiency and response to new problems of risk management. The coming of captives brought significant changes in the business environment of risk management and even greater changes are envisaged to occur in the future. The changes captives brought along have affected many including commercial insurers and reinsurers, government bodies, the operation of insurance agents and brokers in the distribution systems for insurance. The effects are felt in the competitive pressure experienced by the traditional insurance market brought about by captive presence, which has brought about important underwriting changes among the commercial insurers. The current method of rate making by commercial insurers is altered significantly because of the growing importance of captive, since current rating classes now tend to be broad, permitting the average insurer to operate in a fairly level and stable rate structure across industries. Thus, firms with relatively favourable loss experience are contributing to losses of those with poorer experience. Captives constituted a big threat for the conventional insurance because they have a lot going for them. The traditional insurance market did not welcome captive movement because it saw the movement as a threat to its share of the insurance market. They were made to accept captives when they realised that many businesses were flourishing as a result of captive activities and they benefited directly and indirect from those ... In the Film The Great Debaters created by Denzel Washington and Oprah Winfrey, the debate team and their fellow African Americans are truly discouraged by the white characters. However, these ambitious individuals decide to stick to their goals and push for success. James is one of the main protagonists in the film who progressively becomes more confident. The whole team also perceived racism and hate in such a way that made them want to bring change in their own, and their people s lives. Despite oppression, the film demonstrates that the minority are still motivated to succeed. James Farmer Jr. is arguably a very insecure individual, although, as the film progresses his confidence does as well. To begin, James stood up against his father when his father made inaccurate assumptions about him. For instance, when James came home late at night, his father thought that he had been out with a girl and drinking. He used to be a nervous child who would just listen and apologize to his father right away. However, progression is shown in James character when he decides to protest against his father s false accusations. The, The Inner World Of The Outcast Essay 1: Fantastical Realities in the works of Tim Burton I get so tired of people saying, Oh, you only make fantasy films and this and that , I m like Well no, fantasy is reality , that s what Lewis Carroll showed in his work, spoke animator, writer, producer, and director Tim Burton in regards to the themes of depression, isolation, and fear within his collection of work. Influenced by Gothic fiction and the art and film movements of Expressionism, Surrealism, and Noir, Burton crafts the inner world of the outcast and explores the ideas of Jungian and Freudian psychoanalysis in his films, particularly in Vincent (1982), Beetlejuice (1988), and Edward Scissorhands (1990). This paper will explore Burton s aesthetics of chiaroscuro lighting, color symbolism, and composition to recreate the realism of human emotions through the eyes of a misunderstood character s solitude in a highly fantastical world. Burton breaks conventions of narrative Hollywood cinema and focuses less on the script, but largely on the psyche of the character and the visual outer world that portrays their inner anxieties. Although, Burton s films are directly influenced by the work of Fritz Lang, F.W. Murnau, Robert Wiene, and Salvador Dali, he creates his own auteur style by mapping out the psychological journey of his characters through symbolic hand drawn concept and costume designs that mirrors his own struggles of displacement throughout his life. • 17. Reflective Essay On Religion Throughout my life I have been lost and confused when it comes down to one aspect of life, religion. I felt out of place in scripture class freshman year because I knew close to nothing about Catholicism and about who God is. Up until my time at Brophy, I did not even really consider religion to be a part of my life. I rarely thought about God and the only times I did were times that were selfish and when I thought I needed help. Like before a big game I would ask him to help me get a hit, or crossing my fingers when it was the final play of a game and hoping God would help. Looking back that s because I did not truly know who God is, and I m not saying I do now, but I for sure have a greater understanding through my experience and research. In chapter two I explored who God is and was able to find a good connection of who God is through the words of Reverend Doctor William Barry. Barry brings up the idea of how God and is like our parents in a way how they provide us with comfort and are always there when we need them. This I agree with because I believe that the best way that I have encountered God through my time at Brophy has been through the actions with others, not only my parents, but I have been reinforced that God can be found in simple ways. In my first experience with getting my dog Harper I talked about how that was one of the only strong evidences that I have of God working in my life. According to Tsosie, a common misconception of the United States is that the nation was originally constructed to be inclusive and equal to all people under the Constitution. This shows that the residents do not believe they so be taxed the same as continental U.S. citizens. The tax information is valuable to the argument of taxation without representation in my research, which is a strength of McFarland s article. The article is also weak, because McFarland does not provide information why inhabitants refused to pay the taxes. In my research, I would conduct interviews to determine this information. • 21. The Effectiveness Of Brand Placement Purpose This article investigates the effectiveness of brand placement in movies. Brand placement is an advertising technique used by companies to promote their products through a non traditional advertising technique, usually through appearances in film, television, or other media (Product Placement, n.d.). Previous studies have shown that not all brand placements are equally effective. Early studies have shown mixed results regarding the consumer s ability to remember the brand appearing in the film or television. Additionally, placement has shown weak or non existent results towards brand attitude. The authors of this study investigated the interaction of prominence (how prominently the brand is represented in the movie) and plot connection (how well the placement is related to the movie s story line) on actual moviegoer s recognition of brands and their attitude towards them (Dens, DePelsmacker, Wouters, Purnawirawan, 2012). Methodology The authors indicated that their research was one of the first to study the impact of brand placement characteristics on brand attitude, and the effect of brand recognition in this process. They conducted a thorough literature review and developed eight hypotheses regarding the following: the effects of prominence on brand recognition and attitude, the impact of plot connection on brand recognition and attitude, the interaction between prominence and plot connection, and the mediating role of brand recognition in brand attitude ... He did want the best for both of his children but he did it in the worst manners. See you now your bait of falsehood take this carp of truth. (2.1, 69 70) This shows how much lack of confidence he had in Laertes when he went to college. Polonius has little faith in Laertes that he needs a spy to find out if Laertes has committed a wrongdoing. This proves how shrewd of a man Polonius is because he has a sharp judgment, but he also follows his judgments to extremes. Another example is when Polonius pit Ophelia into a rough discussion with Hamlet. He wants her to talk with them even after they broke up, but Polonius wants to prove Hamlet is mad. He beseeched me to entreat your Majesties to hear and see the matter. (3.1, 24 25) Polonius is blaming Hamlet for them to spy on him. He also needs a way to prove that he is insane and uses his own daughter just to prove it. Then, even after Polonius told her to not be with him, she would still think he is a worthy man to be with since her brother didn t protest the relation. This would cause a different chain reaction because if she stayed with Hamlet he would have told her his plan and they would stay together. I see kids at the age of 6 or 7 asking for their Ipad or chromebook for homework. I ask myself is this really how the school board wants to teach the future generation of students? Students are so used to using PowerPoint and Word at such a young age. Secondly, the lack of teachers and the lack of people who want to be teachers is creating problems. Teachers have been going on strike in different committees in the US. The most this class would know about is how Mchenry high schools teachers went on strike. • 38. Linear Programming, An Objective, Constraints, Alternative... In order to run an organization to its best ability, operations managers can rely on linear programming as a way to guide them in to better decision making in a more confident fashion. Linear programming gets the most effective use out of an establishment s resources, this is always the ideal condition for companies, and nobody wants to be knowingly throwing resources down the drain. In order for an operations manager to successfully administer a linear programming equation, the OM must have four requirements: an objective, constraints, alternative and linearity. An objective, because linear programming is formulated to maximize or minimize some quantity, this is also called the objective function. A constraint is required because having infinity options is just not logical and the OM needs to have boundaries for the objective. The next requirement, alternative, is needed because without an alternative there would be no question, ergo there would be no need for linear programming. The final requirement, linearity, is expressed in the equation as an inequality, it implies proportionality and additivity. Once an OM has these four requirement they can get to work formulating the linear program. The most common problems are product mix problems, or two or more products produced using a limited resource. How To Solve The Objective Problem Since there are only two variables , we can solve this problem using the Graphical Method by graphing the set of points in the plane that satisfies the constraint set and then finding which point of this set maximizes the value of the objective function . Each inequality constraint is satisfied by a half plane of points, and the constraint set is the intersection of all the half planes. In the present example, the constraint set is the five sided figure shaded in Figure 1.(2) We want to determine the point 〖( x〗_(1 ),x_█(2@)) that maximizes the objective function . The function 〖 x〗_(1 )+ x_█(2 @)is constant over any line with slope = 1 and as we move this line further up and to right from the origin the value of the function ... The linear programming problem is said to be unbounded when the objective function is infinite , so it has a solution that can be made infinitely large without violating any of its constraints . All Linear Programming Problems Can be Converted to Standard Form All problems defined as maximizing or minimizing a linear function subjected to a linear constraints can be converted into the form of a standard maximum problem by the following techniques : (1) A minimum problem can be converted to standard maximum by multiplying the objective function by 1 . Also , constraints of the form ∑_(j=1)^(n )▒a_(ij ) x_j ≥ b_i can be changed to the form ∑_(j=1)^(n )▒〖 a〗_(ij ) x_j ≤ b_i . (2) Some constraints may be equalities An equality constraint (n j=1 aijxj = bi may be removed, by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is a story that my nana and papa would always tell me to try and get me to learn about patience. Although, as a kid I did not think of it as a learning opportunity, but more as story time at nana s and papa s house. Now I look back at all of the stories that they told me I really appreciate the story of the Jack and the Bean Stalk. In the story Jack is just a young boy who is staying with his mother, who is a widow, together with their milk cow who happens to be their only source of livelihood. A time comes when the milk cow no longer gives milk and thus Jack s mother instructs him to take their milk cow to traders ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However Jack almost gets caught with the harp and the giant quickly and menacingly follows him down the gigantic beanstalk. The giant finally catches up with Jack. Jack realizing that he has done wrong against the giant seeks to make things right with him. He comes up with a deal and presents it to the giant whereby he has rights for visitation with the harp. In return, the giant gives Jack gold coins so as to assist him and his mother survive. This marks the end of the tale and Jack together with his mother live happily ever after. The moral of this story is that when as a child your parent sends you somewhere, like the market, do exactly what you are asked. Jack had a very simple task to accomplish, sell the cow and bring back the money home to buy food for the family. However, Jack gets convinced by a swift talking salesman selling beans. Moral of this story, children should listen to their parent when s/he instructs them to execute a task. The other lesson is that never let your eyes become larger than your wallet. Inspite of the kindness shown by the wife of the giant, Jack desires the possessions of the giant; the gold coins, the hen laying the golden eggs together with the harp. This simple action leads Jack towards the wrong path and this is where our next lesson comes in. What is yours is simply yours, and what is theirs is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. The Fourth Amendment And The 4th Amendment A persons property is often what they take pride in, which makes it easy to see why the saying a mans home is his castle is so popular and widely understood. So when the gates of their castle get knocked down and their treasures taken; the king of the castle is left with nothing to hold as his own. Americans right to be secure is the moat surrounding their castle, it guarantees Americans protection against unreasonable search and seizure. The right to be secure is guaranteed in the 4th amendment of the Bill of Rights, which is a section of the U.S. Constitution listing a citizens guaranteed rights. The U.S. Constitution was written in 1787 but lacked the support required to be ratified; as it needed support from 9 of the 13 states prior to its ratification. The constitution received the backing of its 9th state after adding the Bill of Rights to the Constitution. The addition of a Bill of Rights was required for the support of many states as one of the largest concerns the states had with the Constitution was that the Government would have too much power and control over citizens. So the addition of a Bill or Rights stating what the Government may or may not do as well as guaranteeing the freedoms and rights of citizens helped end the states concerns. The support after the addition of the Bill of Rights led to the Constitutions ratification on March 4th, 1789. As stated by the Legal Information Institute; the Fourth Amendment guarantees [t]he right of the people to be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We take different policy or decision everyday by considering many sites or situation and which has a specific goal or vision. Just like that recently Bangladeshgovernment introduces SIM(subscriber identification module) re verification through fingerprint which is called biometric SIM re verification. It s not an isolated decision or policy, behind it government has some personal interest or benefits. Definition of political economy Political economy is a complex term, consist of politics and economy. So at first we have to know what politics is and what economy is before discussing political economy. Politics: In a word, Politics is the process to increase personal interest or advantage. General peoples have a common concept about politics that it s always related to government affair. They also think it means corruption, movement, murder, strike etc. but this notion is wrong. Politics may be contains in three levels. These are: 1. Micro level or individual level 2. Meso level or national level 3. Potential for damage is often more obvious where levels of humidity and rainfall are high. High levels of disease can result from just a few infected plants since each spot produces numerous conidia or spores. The spores can be dispersal by windborne and may also be spread by splashing rain, irrigation water, insects, and human contact. This disease could be a potential thread in other new areas with similar agro ecology especially on Dioscoreophyllum, Rhigiocarya, Tinospora and Menispermaceae crops. MANAGEMENT, PREVENTION AND CONTROL This disease can be managed by avoid overhead irrigation if it will result in prolonged leaf wetness periods. Proper cutting and reduction of plant leaves reduce water drop on leaf surface especially by dew and excess rain water. Proper observance of planting distance allows sufficient sun light, air circulation and avoids disease to move from one planting into next. Removal and proper disposal of infected plant leaves need to be taken in order to avoid and controlling the spread of this disease. Where required to burn the infected plant tissues when ... • 44. Essay On Savagery In Lord Of The Flies In scholarly studies, symbolism and imagery apply to enhance a reader s knowledge of theme development. In William Golding s Lord of the Flies, the general theme is the conflict between human inclination towards savagery and the rules of civilization. The purpose of symbolism and imagery is essential to the theme development of civilization versus savagery. Three symbols used to illustrate the theme of civilization versus savagery throughout the story are the conch shell, the conflict between Jack and Ralph and the hunter s painted faces. First, the conch shell is a symbol of civilization versus savagery throughout the story. At the start point of the novel, the conch shell is used to represent social conduct, authority, and unity among the boys, which brings them together through civilization. The group of boys describe the conch as power and use it to express the unity among themselves, I ll give the conch to the next person to speak. He can hold it when he s speaking... and won t be interrupted (Golding 31). From what has been said, the group of boys showed civilized behaviour through the influence of the conch, to affect rules and to prevent savagery. As the novel advances, the conch shell becomes weak as Jack disobeys the authority of the conch. On the mountain, Jack does not adhere to the significance of the conch when it is in Piggy s possession, The conch doesn t count on top of the mountain... so you shut up (42). Essentially, Jack does not accept the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. 13th Amendment Pros And Cons James Madison, primary author of the Bill or Rights and a Representative, introduced 20 amendments on June 8, 1789. The House of Representatives passed 17 amendments, and then they were sent to the Senate for approval. The Senate in turn altered the 17 amendments into 12 articles. During the 1789 Joint Resolution of Congress, Congress agreed on the 12 amendments. It was then necessary that three fourths of the states formulated their approval. At that moment, the tenth amendment was previously numbered as the twelfth article. However, since two of the articles were not ratified, the remaining articles were then renumbered and thus, the Tenth Amendment was born on December 15, 1791 with its inclusion in the Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights was added to gain much of the anti federalists support and confidence after the downfall of the Articles of Confederation. In order to avoid this problem in the future the Framers included the Necessary and Proper Clause in Article One of the Constitution. This gave Congress the power to make all laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It began its existence with a wide array of supported. They actually saw it as a way to deter the existence of the problems the country had had to face under British rule, as well as the problems that occurred under the Articles of Confederation. • 47. Power Series Method For Solving Linear Differential Equations ABSTRACT In this work, we studied that Power Series Method is the standard basic method for solving linear differential equations with variable coefficients. The solutions usually take the form of power series; this explains the name Power series method. We review some special second order ordinary differential equations. Power series Method is described at ordinary points as well as at singular points (which can be removed called Frobenius Method) of differential equations. We present a few examples on this method by solving special second order ordinary differential equations. Key words ; Power series, differential equations, Frobenius Method, Lengendre polynomials 1.0 INTRODUCTION 1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY The attempt to solve physical problems led gradually to Mathematical models involving an equation in which a function and its derivatives play important role. However, the theoretical development of this new branch of Mathematics Differential Equations has its origin rooted in a small number of Mathematical problems. These problems and their solutions led to an independent discipline with the solution of such equations an end in itself (Sasser, 2005). 1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM The research work seeks to find solutions of second order ordinary differential equations using the power series method. 1.3 AIM AND OBJECTIVES The aim and objectives of the study are to: Describe the power series method. Use it to solve linear ordinary differential equations with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
