Difference Between Misdemeanors And Felonies
People understand the difference between right and wrong and that there are going to be
consequences for their actions. People also understand that a crime is doing something that is
wrong or illegal that there are punishments that fit the crime. However, there are also times when
the punishment does not fit the crimeor is excessive. People that commit these crimes do so in
hoping that they won t get caught but when they do they know that they are going to have a
punishment that fits the crime. This paper is going to look at the difference between misdemeanors
and felonies and the punishment that go with the crimes, and the sentencing guidelines in which
the courts are supposed to follow, and process in which a criminal can request a sentence reduction,
or appealtheir current sentence.
People do things every day that they know are wrong, with little or no thought to the
consequences. There are consequences for things that we do wrong, whether it s a crime or not.
Whether or not people want to admit, they want to feel as if justice has been served, and often
times in order for them to feel this way they want the person to serve a lot of time in prison. We
understand that justice needs to be served, and that the person who committed the crime needs to
face the consequences associated with the crime, but what happens when their punishment is too
excessive, or does not fit the crime in which they committed. People go to jail and prisons every
day, and some judges

Hockey Lockout Analysis
Since the start of the twenty first century, there has been two different lockouts in the National
Hockey League. The first to happen was in the 2004 2005 season. The entire season was lost due
to an unsuccessful bargaining agreement. The second one to happen was in the 2012 2013
season. Over sixty percent of the season was lost and the league had to cancel special events
such as the Winter Classic games and the All Star Weekend. They were able to salvage the tail
end of the season and were still able to have the Stanley Cup Playoffs (The hockey lockout of
2012 2013, 2013). Previously before the mid 1990s, the stoppage of a sports season was usually
due to a strike rather than a lockout. As sports grew there became an influx of wealth due... Show

The agreement seemed to be a victory for the owners, but they continued to pay big salaries to the
players. Average salaries grew and started to exceed revenue growth. In 2004, the National Hockey
League claimed that they had lost nearly two billion dollars in the past decade. In the
negotiations, the league was focuses on the idea of the costs being certain. They would make
sure that costs are certain by introducing a salary cap. The union was against the idea of a salary
cap and insisted that salaries were based on market conditions and it would not agree to capped
team payrolls. As an attempt to save the season, the league dropped the demand that the salaries
would not exceed fifty five percent of revenue. The union then reconsidered and became willing
to accept a salary cap. The two parties however, could not close the gap on how much the salary
cap should be. Neither side would budge and finally time ran out, resulting in the league
cancelling the 2004 2005 season. The cancelation caused an estimated two billion in revenue for
the teams and roughly one billion in lost salaries from the players. After the season was lost, the
Nation Hockey League Players Association finally agreed to a salary cap for the 2005 2006 season
and onward (The hockey lockout of 2012 2013,

The Negative Impacts Of The Industrialization Age
The Industrial revolution was a time in American history in which factories and manufacturing
business thrived. During the Industrialization period in the U.S the mass increase of immigration
also helped to build America into what it is today. The Industrial age not only was a positive effect
on American, but a negative effect towards the factoryworkers. Because of this the industrial
revolutioninterpreted a variety of perspectives from the factory workers, factory owners, the
government, and also those whoВґve observed the conditions in those industrialized cities during
that time.
The negative impacts of the Industrialization age would be terribles working conditions. During this

The Major Problems Of Population Overcrowding In Canada
Problems of Population Overcrowding
The day when population of GTA reach its maximum may be just around corner. Where and why
are people concentrated in GTA? Most people tend to live in cities rather than sub urban areas due
to amenities, job opportunities, infrastructure and educational facilities. Also, immigrants are the
major reason why the population overcrowded in cities. According to the Government of Ontario,
over the past
20 years, the target range of immigrants has been increased gradually. For example, the target
range of immigrants was 280,000 to 320,000 in 2017 and 260,000 to 285,000 in 2016. These
numbers are about
0.75 per cent of total population in Canada each year. (Ministry of Finance, 2007). These factors
cause population overcrowding in GTA and it may lead to several problems such as traffic jams,
housing bubbles and the rise in the homeless rate. These problems can be solved by moving
infrastructure, regulating using a car once a week and implementing training programs.
These days, some people believe that traffic jams occur more often than before. The Toronto
Transit System is slowing down due to heavy traffic. Statistics Canada stated that the number of
vehicles registered in the Control Vehicle System is 18,608,297 in 2005. But, in 2017, the number
of vehicles registered in Ontario is 11,948,296, which is almost two third of number in 2005.
(Statistics Canada, 2017).
People experience inconvenience everyday and are more at the risk of car accidents

Compare And Contrast Roosevelt And Woodrow Wilson
Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson were both innovative, progressive presidents. Many of
their policies were similar, focusing on reform, destruction of monopolies and trusts, and improving
conditions of the common American through policy change in Washington. However, both
presidents are remembered in different lights and for vastly different reasons.
Theodore Roosevelt unquestionably had the bigger positive impact on American idealism, as he is
commemorated on Mount Rushmore and considered one of the five great American presidents.
Roosevelt was the naturalist responsible for our national parks, but his policies on military and
war were contradictory to the sensitivities he displayed toward nature. Roosevelt led the Rough
Riders in the Spanish American War, and led the country similarly. Believing in the nationalist
sentiment of creating a sense of pride in American conquest, Roosevelt campaigned for the
annexation of Hawaii, took control of Cuba, and instituted his policy of speak softly, but carry a

As a PhD and former president of Princeton University, Wilson had a bit softer of approach to the
presidency. Wilson, like Roosevelt, was a progressive reformer, instituting federal institutes,
such as the Federal Reserve and the Federal Trade Commission, but Wilson had quite the
opposite ideas of war and conquest. Wilson was slow to enter The Great War, and only did so to
preserve American life when Germany began targeting passenger ships carrying American
citizens. When America entered the war and helped a achieve a quick, decisive victory for the
Allies, he was hailed overseas as the hero from the West. His creation of The League of Nations,
which was shot down by the Senate during his infirm years following a stroke, likely could have
helped prevent further unrest in European nations that led to World War

Sadly, this means that the more taxes will be taken out of your check. The amount a tech gets

way an x ray tech gets paid, is just like any other job, can differ from one hospital or medical
center to the next. The time between the time periods could be weekly, every other week, or
monthly. This all depends on the employers view of the work place.
Although there have been signs of leukemia, there is still uncertainty if that long hours of
radiation exposure has any effect on x ray techs. (RSNA) Although I first believed that as an x

slight possibility that I will even be diagnosed. Even though getting zapped by some kind of

Upton Sinclair Short Biography
During my investigating of one most famous muckrakers; I found was Upton Sinclair whom I

had many challenges over his life time; from the articles and books he has written, reforms that he
has set in place, makes this person very interesting. Upton Sinclairwas born September 20, 1878 in
Baltimore, Maryland. He was raised in poverty but his father worked as a liquor salesman,
which gave him the chance to be around different types of people. Sinclair and his family moved
when he was older and found himself growing up in New York City. He would tell me of some
stories about loving the works of Shakespeare and Percy Bysshe Shelley, which at every chance

research he wrote a book called, The Jungle. Sinclair also, published the following novels The
Metropolis (1908) and King Coal (1917), The Goose Step (1923). During the Great Depression,
Sinclair took further interest in politics and ran for the governor of California. He told me he

Italian Immigration And New Immigration
From 1890 onward became a part of what is known as New Immigration, which became known as
the third and largest wave of immigration to America from Europe. This wave consisted of Slavs,
Jews, and Italians. Three million Italians, which was the largest new immigrants, immigrated to
America. These immigrants represented all regions of Italymost of them being from Southern Italy.
Italian immigrants were driven from their homelands for the many hardships they faced and hoped
that America would benefit to their cause only to find that they were faced with new struggles.
Many Italians were often referred to as birds of passage because they had only planned on staying
in the United States temporarily just until they could gain enough money to support their life back
in Italy. Poverty, overpopulation, politics, and natural disasters have had Italians packing but only
temporarily. Poverty was the main reason that Italians felt the need to leave. With northern Italians
in control of the government high taxes and protective tariffs on northern industries hurt southern
Italians. Along with that, roughly eighty percent of Italians lived off of agriculture. Many farming
tools were inefficient due to the lack of modern technology, which did not allow for improvement.
Farmers often lived in a one room house with no plumbing or even privacy which were harsh
conditions in comparison to others. These people were isolated being that there were no roads,
making it extremely hard to make

Sesis And Septic Shock Research Paper
Sepsis and Septic Shock have been my personal topic after the life of young Kamil Williams and a
31 year old Texas man who both contacted a bacterial infection later turn into sepsis. Although I
have not formally studied it during my school or university years, I still find the human body, how
it can break down and react to certain ailments interesting. The next question would be why does
this happen? Well when there is infection or insult upon the body s immune system normal reacts
and causing an inflammatory response. This normally a good thing and it promotes healing and the
resolution of the insult, however in Septic Shockthe inflammatory response comes explosive and
uncontrollable. According to Allison Hotujec, the author of Severe Sepsisand Septic Shock
Protocols, Sepsis has been called a malignant intravascular inflammation. The term malignant is
because it is uncontrolled unregulated and self perpetuating, in the usual immune response here is
release of both pro inflammatory and anti inflammatory mediators, these balance to promote tissue

tissue injury. The term intravascular is used because unlike the usual immune response, which is
localized to the site of the insult in sepsis you get stomach immune response in which
inflammatory mediators is transmitted throughout the blood stream and can effect numerous parts
of the body. Some have describe Sepsis as a disease but in my opinion, I consider Sepsis more of
a risk group of infected people. Illness and disease both cause similar sentiments of discomfort,
torment or unease in individuals. However, an illness is more of an intuitive feeling, which means

What Is The Unity Of Effect In The Raven By Edgar Allan Poe
Martha Garbarini Ms. Hopkins P3 H English II September 23, 2015 Wondering Nevermore
Edgar Allan Poe was one of the most influential authors of his time, being highly regarded as a
pivotal figure of Romanticism in American Literature. For many, the name brings to mind
images of madmen and dark, twisted tales of fate. In Poe s work, he had a way of impacting his
readers deeply, through language choice, all, and elaborate imagery. In one of Poe s most
acclaimed works, The Raven, unity of effect is achieved very well through skillful language
choice. In stanza sixteen, Poe writes, By that Heaven that bends above us by that God we both
adore Tell this soul with sorrow laden if, within the distant Aidenn, It shall clasp a sainted maiden
whom the angels name Lenore. Simply put, Poe could ve chosen much more basic words that
didn t create the same effect that these words did on the reader; but the idea that his soul is laden
with sorrow, and Lenore shall be clasped , leaves us as the reader space to interpret his words and

Essay on Solving HealthCare’s eMail Security Problem
Solving HealthCare s eMail Security Problem
Abstract
While healthcare organizations have come to depend heavily on electronic mail, they do so without
a significant email security infrastructure. New Federal law and regulation place new obligations on
the organizations to either secure their email systems or drastically restrict their use. This paper
discusses email security in a healthcare context. The paper considers and recommends solutions to
the healthcare organization s problem in securing its mail. Because email encryption will soon be a
categorical requirement for healthcare organizations, email encryption is discussed in some detail.
The paper describes details and benefits of domain level encryption model and considers how PKI

Although these security standards have not yet been finalized, in August of 1998, HHS did
publish in 45 CFR Part 142 a proposal for that Security Standard. That Notice of
Proposed Rule Making did include a number of specific security implementation features.
Particularly relevant to email use is a specification for encryption of health information
communicated over any network for which the transmitter cannot control access (45 CFR Part
142.308[d][1][ii]). This restriction clearly is intended to apply to the healthcare organization s
Internet bound electronic mail.
This paper broadly outlines steps that healthcare organizations can take to ensure the security of
their electronic mail use. A substantial portion of this activity has a Security
101 aspect to it. Healthcare organizations are generally exposed to the same Internet borne threats
as any other type organization. As a result, healthcare organizations do well to follow the general
recommendations for email security provided in documents such as NIST s Guidelines for
Electronic Mail Security . Healthcare organizations do have business imperatives and legal
obligations, however, that may encumber routine application of email security best practice.
Therefore, this paper will provide a healthcare industry context to its discussion of electronic mail
security.
Risks Associated with Electronic Mail Use
Generally speaking there are three classes of email related risk that

What Is The Controversy Of Huckleberry Finn
Some literary critics agree with Ernest Hemingway that all modern American literature comes from
one book by Mark Twain called Huckleberry Finn... it s the best book we ve had. All American
writing comes from that. There was nothing before. There has been nothing as good since,
(Hemingway). While others feel that The Adventures of Huckleberry Finndoes not belong in the
literary canon and that it is itself literally incoherent (Jehlen). Unquestionably, it is now one of the
most often debated major work in American literature (Fertig). Although The Adventures of
Huckleberry Finn has caused several controversies, one major debate is whether if it is racist or not.

house, who she does not know is Tom, she does not hesitate to having him over and excitingly

they treat Jim better than others have, they still treat him fit to their beliefs and keep him locked
up in a shed since they believe that it is right to own him as their property because the color of his
skin makes him worth less than a white person. The Phelpses are depicted as good, big hearted
people even if they embrace the South s institution of slavery. Tom Sawyeris actually harsher than
the Phelpses, and decides to help Huck free Jim. Unbeknownst to Huck and Jim, Jim s former

Factors Affecting The Business Organization
Introduction: In the process of manufacturing, packaging, marketing and other necessary business
activities, businesses interact with internal and external factors which may affect the business and
can be affected by the business as well. A combination of both of the factors comprises the business
environment in which the business operates. The internal factors refer to the factors those function
within the business organization and the business can control or facilitate them as needed. Some
prominent internal factors are the working conditions, employees, employer to employee relations,
organizational culture and organizational structure etc. For a British American online chain store
like ASDA, the total numbers of employees working for the organization (140,000 employees
working in 500 stores) is a key internal factor. On the other hand, external recruitment are factors as
such as political factors(Laws and regulation system, governmental activities and ownership
module, tariffs/ Taxation and trade barriers, conflict between political parties and socio political
unrest etc.) Macroeconomic concerns (interest rate, exchange rate of currency, employment rate,
unemployment rate, discretionary income, GDP, recessions, depressions, inflation etc.),
microeconomic concern (market size, demand and supply diagram, distribution channel and
delivery mode etc.), social and technological factors which are not in the control of the business but

Comparing The Eumenides And The Bacchae
The conflict between the rational and the irrational is present in every person or situation. In Greek
tragedies, this conflict is constantly present within the characters actions and decisions. Usually,
there is always one character that will act rationally compared to the others and would try to fix the
conflict. Both The Eumenides and The Bacchae depict the conflict between the rational and the
irrational, yet the act and solution are presented differently. Whereas The Eumenides portrays it
through killing the family by committing matricide and homicide, The Bacchae portrays it through
killing the family by committing unconscious homicide driven by the desire of the forbidden.

She also brings order and peace for the whole civilization when she calms the Furies and shows
them another way to think that would favor them; she brought peace, reason and order to the empire.
In The Bacchae, the most important characters are not only the gods but also the humans
themselves. Starting off with the story behind the problem, irrationality is demonstrated by the
characters of Hera, Semele and her family. Hera symbolizes irrationality through her emotions,
violence and chaos. She is jealous and revengeful of Zeus, who is unfaithful and had a child with
another woman. She makes Semele, the mistress of Zeus, desire Zeus in his true form, ultimately
leading to her death because no mortal could stand being exposed to so much power. Although
Zeus is able to save their baby, this violence and chaos causes Dionysus family to hate him. Semele
symbolizes irrationality through her emotions and disaster to the natural world. She may be lead
by Hera to desire to see Zeus in his true form, but she knew there were going to be consequences.
She also symbolizes disaster to the natural world by getting involved with the god of all gods and
she brings chaos and hatred upon her family towards her son through her desires. Semele s family
also demonstrates irrationality by their discord and emotions towards Dionysus. They malign their
own daughter and reject Dionysus. When the story unfolds, the two main characters, Dionysus and

Pablo Picasso
Pablo Picasso is my choice because of 2 things; First is that anything that starts with the letter P
(like my name) usually goes well with me and second, because I am fascinated by the fact that
Picasso didn t do a different type of work aside from the current period he was in. For example,
he didn t use warm bright colors in his Blue period. It s fascinating to me because my artistic
movements don t concentrate on a particular medium and mood within a particular amount of time;
I am a very miscellaneous artist. The works I have chosen are, The Old Guitarist and Jacqueline
with Flowers .

Three Women and Girl with Mandolin were the well known works in this period.
Later came the Classical Period which was occured during World War I which influenced
Picasso s art. This occured between 1918 and 1927. This was where the war had put him back to
reality, where he want to back to realism temporarily. Works inlcuded were Three Women at the
Spring and The Pipes of Pan .
After his short Realism works, he went the opposite Surrealism. The Surrealism period happened
since Picasso had caught up on cultural and philosophical movements from 1927. His most
famous work was finished during the Spanish Civil War in 1937. This work was called Guernica

Implicit Bias Analysis
Implicit Biases in Reader Response
Reading Jane Austen has never appealed to me. The combination of dated prose, a general
aversion to plots I deemed to be too romantic , and my viewing of the film adaptations were
enough to keep me away from her novels. When I was asked to read Persuasion for a class, I was
hesitant and unwilling to fully engage with the material. This prevented me from enjoying the
book fully. I didn t quite know what was holding me back from enjoying the book, but I knew that
it was something more than my explicit biases against Austen. After a little reflection, I realized
that my implicit biases were shaping my reading of Austen. My implicit bias against a novel and
author that I perceived as overly feminine was coloring how I was interacting with and what
messages I was taking from Persuasion (Austen).
Implicit biases are the unconscious attitudes that shape our thoughts, actions, and beliefs (Banaji
and Greenwald 46; Staats et al. 10; Schneider 169).Their impact is important to study because
implicit biases shape our responses to situations. Reader response theory examines how a reader
responds to a given text. Theorists such as Jauss and Eco include concepts that implicit bias can and
should be built into. Jauss horizons examine how our experiences, expectations, culture, and place
in time shape how we react and create meaning. Though implicit bias is not noted in Jauss
formulation of the horizon, it should be considered as it shapes our

The Driving Down The Road
There are millions and millions of cars on the road these days. With every car on the road there
is a driver operating the vehicle. Every single driver has habits that they acquired throughout the
years of driving. Some don t use blinkers, others tend to go over the speed limit, and others don t
wear seatbelts. Majority of those drivers can fall into one of the following categories: the carefree
reckless driver, the overly cautious driver, and the normal driver which is the most preferred. We
have all seen it, you are drivingdown the road and then out of nowhere a car comes flying past
you in the other lane. That is a prime example of what we consider a carefree and reckless driver.
You see, a carefree and reckless driver is one that cares about nobody but themselves when
driving. They are the people that you see going fifteen to twenty miles per hour over the speed
limit with no signs of slowing down. Sure they might have an excuse of I was late for work or a
family emergency came up but in general you are still a reckless driver and carefree. I think we
all can relate when I say that we see enough of these drivers on the daily. But what other traits do
carefree and reckless drivers exhibit? One big trait is that they are always switching back and forth
between lanes of traffic. They become so impatient that they feel the need to constantly switch back
and forth between lanes so they are one car closer to being at their destination. Another one of the
dominant traits

Behavioral Characteristics Of An Entrepreneur
Concepts of taking risks have regularly been associated with behavioural characteristics of an
entrepreneur. A study on intention of nascent entrepreneurs, Caliendo et al (2009) discovered
individuals who are less risk adverse tends to enter self employment but this only applies for those
leaving regular employment. Risk attitudes however, do not affect the decision process for those
moving away from inactivity or unemployment.
The early work of Schumpeter (1934) pointed out that the accountability of risk hinders on
ownership, and given that entrepreneurs does not necessarily signify owners, risk propensity should
be excluded as part of the traits of an entrepreneur. In its place, Schumpeter suggests innovation to
be the primary trait of entrepreneurship.
Although scholars are ambivalent with regards to the role of risk taking propensity when
determining an entrepreneur, yet many studies have taken into account risk propensity as an
entrepreneurial trait when it comes to identifying entrepreneurial intentions (Rauch and Frese 2007;
Zhao et al 2010; Brandstätter 2011).
II.Innovation
Innovation has remained a continuously represented functional trait of entrepreneurs in literature
(Carland et al 1984; Dyer et al 2008; Schaltegger and Wagner 2011; Nochian and Schott 2012). In
Schumpeter s early work (1934, 1942), he reasoned that innovation was a paramount force of
economic development as it acts as a catalyst in the success and expansion of an economic cycle.

Essay Comparing Beowulf and The Saga of King Hrolf Kraki
Beowulf and The Saga of King Hrolf Kraki
There are so many similarities between the hero of the poem Beowulf and The Saga of King Hrolf
Kraki, an Iceland saga representing 1000 years of oral traditions prior to the 1300 s when it was
written, that these similarities cannot be attributed solely to coincidence.
The Cambridge History of English and American Literature states that the hero of the poem,
Beowulf himself, may be the same person as Bodvar Biarki, the chief of Hrolfr Kraki s knights (v1,
ch3, s3, n13). George Clark in The Hero and the Theme mentions: The form of Beowulf taken as
a whole suggests both the Bear s Son folktale type (especially as we find it in Scandinavia) and the

When King Hring took sick and died, Bodvar became ruler of the kingdom; when Heardred was
killed in battle, Beowulf became king. Bodvar thought of others first; he found support for his
mother before leaving his people; Beowulf likewise placed the concerns of others before his own,
putting his life in jeopardy in order to satisfy a family debt to King Hrothgar for paying wergild
for the hero s father s indiscretion as a young man.
Bodvar leaves Gautland to travel to the kingdom of the Danes; Beowulf leaves Geatland to travel
to the kingdom of the Danes. Bodvar goes to King Hrolf, widely known for his generosity,
magnificence and courage; Beowulf goes to King Hrothgar, widely known for the same virtues.
In Denmark Bodvar meets a farmer who thinks that the hero is imposing; in Denmark Beowulf
meets a coast guard who considers him imposing. The farmer s wife says to Bodvar, Your hand

Differences Of Squid And Octopus

Octopuses and squids can swim in any direction and can alter their course quickly. Squids use fins
located on their heads to propel themselves when swimming at low speeds. These fins steer and
stabilize the squids when moving slowly, and wrap around the body when they move quickly, by
way of jet propulsion. Most octopuses do not have fins as adults. Some deep water octopuses are
exceptions. (Octopuses Squids,n.d)
How do octopuses and squids reproduce? The male octopus uses a specialized arm called a
hectocotylus to transfer sperm to the mantle cavity of a receptive female. The female lays
strings of fertilized eggs on the roof of her den. She guards, cleans and aerates the eggs with
water expelled from her siphon until hatching. This can be anywhere from 30 days to a year,
depending on the species. The female may build a wall of rocks to seal off the den and will
remain in the den until just before she dies, after the eggs have hatched. Squids often mate in large
groups, and attach their egg capsules to the ocean floor or to seaweed. Most adult octopuses and
squid die after reproducing. Their bodies are recycled in the food web, nourishing other animals,
and ultimately providing food for their young when they hatch. (Octopuses

is irrational. Clarissa shows optimism with her life and finding her true identity while Septimus is
someone who experiencing insanity and madness. Although she never meets him and their lives
are vastly different, the two characters actually mirror each other. Clarissa and Septimus share
many characteristics and think in similar manners. Septimus serves as a contrast between the
veteran working class and upper class. Throughout the book, Septimus thoughts parallel Clarissa s

can become blurred. Both characters have similar experiences, but how they go about interpreting
them and finding deeper meaning about it differ because of their different personalities and
experiences. Clarissa and Septimus heavily think about their past memories and events. The
memories cause them both to contemplate how the experiences changed and impacted their life.
Clarissa s memories of her past thinking about her friends make her want to think deeply about

The Real Macbeth Research Paper
The Real Macbeth
Who really was Macbeth?
We all know the character in William Shakespeare s tragic play Macbeth, but who really was
Macbeth? Was he really the murderous man that ruthlessly killed the people closest to him? Did he
really go insane due to the guilt of his actions? Well, to start at the very beginning, the real Macbeth
was born in 1005 to Finlay MacRory, Mormaer of Moray, and Donalda, daughter of Kenneth II (
Macbeth. BBC News). Macbeth later married Gruoch, granddaughter to Kenneth III, as well as
adopted her son Lulach ( King Macbeth of Scotland ). In 1031, Macbeth succeeded his father, after
his death, and became the Mormaer of Moray ( Macbeth. Britannica School). The real Macbeth was

Macbeth ruled successfully from 1040, after defeating Duncan I, until 1057, when he was killed in
battle ( Macbeth. Bio). Macbeth s reign and defeat were the muse for Shakespeare s tragedy
Macbeth where he partially illustrates the true story of Macbeth.
Macbeth vs. Macbeth
William Shakespeare s play, Macbeth, is historically inaccurate when it comes to the portrayal
of the actual Macbeth. To begin, Macbeth did not brutally murder King Duncan in his sleep, but
rather defeated him in a battle near Elgin Morayshire in August, 1040 (Johnson). It was then that
Macbeth respectably claimed the title of King of the Scots because of his relation to Kenneth
MacAlpin (the first King of the Scots), unlike in Shakespeare s play, where Macbeth is only
given the crown because Duncan s two sons run away ( Macbeth. Bio). Also, the real Macbeth
ruled successfully for 17 years, with both law and order as well as encouraging Christianity (
Macbeth. Bio). Shakespeare compresses Macbeth s reign to only about a year s time where we
see the fictional Macbeth rule aggressively and kills all potential threats to his crown such as
Banquo and Macduff s family

Nemerov s The Vacuum
The Vacuum is a poem about the emptiness of an old man after his wife died. Nemerov started
by presenting the environment in which the old man lived in. He also pointed out that the
vacuum cleaner was in a corner, seemingly grinning (4) at him. He then stated that after his old
wife has passed away, she seemed to be inside the vacuum cleaner (8, 9), cleaning up the house
whenever the old man used it. The poet further expressed his feeling of loneness by recalling his
days with his wife, where she crawl (s), in the corner and under the stairs . (12) At the end,
Nemerov expressed his views on his life, how it was like dirt (13), without the company of his wife.

the vacuum cleaner is used, in which a howling sound will be heard and the machine sucks in

Ayn Rand s Anthem Essay
Ayn Rand s Anthem
In the novel Anthem by Ayn Rand there are many themes. These themes include love, desire,
equality, freedom, and individuality. Most of these themes are all shown by the majority of the
characters in the book, especially Equality 7 2521. One can see that the themes of love and
individuality are very important in the novel. The theme of love is shown between Equality 7 2521
and Liberty 5 3000. The theme of individuality is shown by Equality 7 2521.
Anthem is a novel about a man, Equality 7 2521, who went against the laws to make his own

At this house they get new names to show their new found freedom.
Equality 7 2521?s new name was Prometheus, this is because Prometheus taught men to be gods.
Liberty 5 3000?s new name was Gaea, this is because Gaea was the mother of rebirth and Liberty 5
3000 was the mother of a new society.
In Anthem love is a very important theme. The love between
Liberty 5 3000 and Equality 7 2521 was true, even though it is said ?what is not thought by all
men cannot be true?(Anthem, Page 81). Their love brought them for a civilization where the word
?I? did not exist to a world of their own where they were free to do what they loved. Throughout
their entire relationship their love was forbidden, yet Liberty 5 3000 and

Individuality was also a major theme in the novel Anthem.

Retributive Justice Vs Restorative Justice
Retribution Vs. Restorative Justice
In this essay, I will explore what is meant by restorative and retributive justice, and show that
Jesus approach to justice is restorative. I will do this by examining the stories of Zacchaeus
(Luke 19: 1 10), the woman at the well (John 4:1 42), the woman caught in adultery (John7:53
8:11), Matthew and his tax collector friends (Mark 2:13 17, Matthew 9:9 13, Luke 5:27 32) and
the paralysed man (Mark 2:1 12), explaining why each was regarded by their society as an
offender to give context. Through the conclusions I have drawn from how Jesus interacts with
offenders, I will then offer some ideas about how we can behave towards offenders today.

Capital Punishment Is A Penalty For All Crimes
Capital punishment has been occurring since the earliest of the ages and has been performed
numerous times around the globe by all differently opinionated people. Last year only, 256
citizens have been executed by the hand of law and only more to be uncovered. Capital
punishment was part of culture in Babylon where it coded the penalty for exactly twenty five
crimes, Athens where death was suitable for all crimes, and Rome. Since the olden ages, humans
are still holding crimes against other people applicable by death. But now, as humanity grows and
our minds expand to new ideas and thinking, we have come to the conclusion: As humans, do we

In judging whether or not a given penalty is morally acceptable, most courts have said that the

How My Major and Minor Will Help in My Endeavors
Explaining the importance of my major and minor is very simple. My major will be general
business; the reasoning behind this choice is I have always been fascinated by business. I loved
my economics classes which fueled my interest for investing and looking at companies and
gauging their worth and risk. In this regard i feel like having a general business degree will help
me find a job in anything business as I will have a wide spread knowledge on the topic, while I do
love business that is not my main goal. To understand that you have to look at my minor, this will
be communications.
I have always been a people person, I loved talking with everyone about anything and
understanding their interests and expressing my own. In the past semester I took a speech class
and found I really enjoyed it which got me thinking about what i wanted to do when I graduate.
This is when it all comes together. My major is business which will give me the background into
business that I need. My minor is communications which will give me the skills I need to go into
either public relations or a salesman for a large company. I feel the importance of these degrees
should be easily identifiable. Everyone needs someone to talk for and be the face for a large
company. That is where I see myself in ten years, working for a company as a public relations
representative. My degree in business will give me credibility and know how into the subject while
my communications minor will give me the skill to

The African Struggle Over Time
The African struggle over time has been a topic discussed by many scholars. In Walter Rodney s,
How Europe Underdeveloped Africa, he approaches the issue of how Africa s power was stolen
from them. Rodney focuses on the relationship between Africa and Europe and the effects of
exploitation on the African people by, reinforcing the conclusion that African development is
possible only on the basis of a radical break with the international capitalist system. The tone in
which the book is wrote uses Marxism, which can be controversial, to focus more on economic and
political theories. Rodney argues that if it wasn t for this exploitation, African societies would not

In Chapter three Rodney focuses on the colonial period in which Africa helped develop the capitalist
progression in Europe. Colonialism was not merely a system of exploitation but one whose
essential purpose was to repatriate the profit to the so called mother land, states Rodney. Chapter
four gives an historical background of Africa in 1885 and emphasizes on the value that came from
the enslavement of Africans. This time period holds a major significance to the underdevelopment
of Africa because of the Berlin conference. Africa was then divided up due to the scramble in
which Europeans fought over power. The fifth chapter argues that colonialism was the main factor
in underveloping Africa as a whole. Rodney argues that colonialism only did one thing, and that
was steal Africa s resources and strip them of their land. Europeans took so much from the Africans
and made sure to give nothing back which explains the type of relationship they had. In chapter six,
Rodney argues against past scholars who believed that colonialism had valuable outcomes in the
end. The author shows how the economic and political state Africa was left robbed due to
colonialism, he then provides strategies to fight against the underdevelopment. It is clear that that

similarities and differences of other cultures, not only makes us stronger as Americans, but it also
makes the world stronger. This paper addresses Egypts history, present culture and customs, and
explains their military capabilities. To begin with, Egypt has a rich history. Egypt is one of the

conscripts. The ADF included approximately 100 antiaircraft gun battalions, 65 battalions of SA
2 SAMs, 60 battalions of SA 3 SAMs, 12 batteries of improved Hawk SAMs (I Hawk), and one
battery of Crotale missiles. Egypt positioned gun and missile sites along the Suez Canal, Cairo, and
other major cities to protect their military installations and strategic civilian targets. The ADF
integrated their national air defense network (radars, missile batteries, air bases, and command
centers) into an automated command and control system. In summary, Egypt is one of the world s
oldest civilizations dating back to 3100 B.C.E. with a well established history. Egypt consists of a

The Book Utopia By Thomas Moore
The next day as I walk through the school doors, I see Hunter glaring at me. Remembering what
my mom said, I continue walking to class. I go to my first two periods and I read the book
Utopia by Thomas Moore through both my classes. When the lunch bell rings, I jump up from
my seat and head to the cafeteria where I sit down at my usual table alone. I start eating my
peanut butter and jelly sandwich as Hunter and a bunch of his friends enter the cafeteria. I freeze
in fear and I start to become enraged. My hands start to shake and my face turns bright red with
anger. Without thinking about it, I stand up towering over Hunter. Hunter s friends begin to laugh
at my idiotic decision. I become even more enraged as I hold my hands up in front... Show more

Within a few seconds, we arrive in a living room. The living room is dimly lit with the only
source of light coming from a small window in the center of the wall. On the white walls there
are photographs of the teacher and people that I assume to be his family and friends. As I am
standing in room marveling over the pictures the teacher motions for me to sit on the brown
cushion couch. I take a seat on the couch, while the teacher sits down on a light brown recliner
across from me. I sit and I stare at the teacher and for the first time I notice that he has the same
tattoo as my mom. The tattoo is on his wrist and it is of an equal sign inside a square. When I
asked my mom about the tattoo she just said it was just some cool design she got for her
birthday, but now I believe the tattoo has a deeper meaning. I open my mouth to ask about the
tattoo but the teacher interrupts me and says, I knew this would happen. You are probably
befuddled now and wondering what is going on. I guess first I will introduce myself. My name
is Eldrick Mentoris, but you can just call me Mr. Mentoris or godfather. Your dad made me your
godfather and he was, I mean is an honorable man. The reason I said is, is because he is still
alive, he never fought for the US army. Suddenly I gasp in disbelief. Your dad, Mr. Mentoris
continues, actually fought for The New Empire, also known as TNE. I do not expect to be familiar

Essay about Howard Stern
How might one explain Howard Stern? Yes, he is a refreshing change from the typical, politically
correct figure, and he provides humor and sex for late night audiences who are growing weary of
Leno and Letterman. And while Howard Stern, shock jock turned television host, is more on the
same wavelength as a Jerry Springer than a late night comic, Stern has always claimed like Jerry
that his show is just an act.
The idea that Howard Stern could come close but not too close to naked women on his television
show, might have created the impression that this was just an act after all. He would say things that
any other husband could not get away with, and it was okay, because it ... Show more content on

Although he has achieved remarkable success for an unremarkable act, he is obviously not
happy in his personal life. What Stern continues to do is to integrate his radio persona with real
life and in some ways, he cannot separate the two. What most people know about Stern s one big
mistake had nothing to do with a lesbian bimbo getting too close, but rather his talking about
Alison s miscarriage on the air. That is what most know about Howard Stern. His life has been
aired in the film Private Parts and he tells the world how he feels every day. While he is
flamboyant, and pushes the envelope, one thing is true. Howard Stern is at least consistent. What
does this mean? While Stern on one hand objectifies women on the show, and then talks about his
wife lovingly, that is a contradiction. But he maintains that this act is just that and both parts of that
personality co exist.
Many wonder why the show is still on the air as it is somewhat offensive and really does nothing
new, even as the years go by. Ratings had in fact dropped for this successful host, but they soon
picked up again. Donovan reported that while Stern s Saturday night show had been in the
doldrums, the marital breakup had helped ratings (Donovan 226). But one question remains. What
will Stern do now that he is on available again?
That is not an easy one to answer.

Goldilocks Affirmative Defense
Goldilocks has admitted to having committed the act of murder and burglary, however, she asserts
affirmative defenses that would exonerate her actions from criminal liability. Affirmative dense
brings to light danger for the defense because once admitting the act the defendants have the
burden to, start matters off by putting in some evidence in support of their justification or excuse
defenses (Samaha, 2011). In addition, the burden of production will shift to the defense and it is
now the prosecution s job to cause doubt upon the defense s case. In Goldilocks case of a
justification defense this would involve her use of self defense and its necessity being that under
the circumstances, it was the right thing to do (Samaha, 2011). Furthermore,... Show more content

For an attack to be considered self defense it must apply to four requirements. The first is
unprovoked attacks in which the defender has to have not started or provoked the attack. In
Goldilocks case this is held because she was attempting to leave when Prince Charming saw and
forcibly locked her inside. The second requirement is necessity which is, also known as the
choice of evils, reflects popular moral intuitions and common sense: sometimes, breaking the
rules is the right indeed, the only thing to do in order to avoid a greater evil (Bergelson, 2012).
In Goldilocks case this choice of evils was a fact in both acts the burglary where she was given a
choice to either starve to death or break into a home so she can eat. The other instance was the
Prince Charming reaching for his walking stick that he uses to constantly physically abuse her
and the choice to defend herself. The third element of self defense is proportionality which is the
ability of a defender to use deadly force if no deadly force is not enough to repel the oncoming
attack with no excessive force (Samaha, 2011). In Goldilocks case Prince Charming is not only
bigger and stronger than her she was in no state where she could run away or hide she had no
choice. The last requirement is reasonable belief which is the belief that it was necessary to use
deadly force to repel the imminent deadly attack (Samaha, 2011). In Goldilocks case she was in a
position where she was going to have to fight for her life and the only way should would have
made it out alive was by using the

The Importance Of Self Esteem And Social Identity
There are a series of important steps in the development of one s self concept, self esteem and
social identity. These steps begin from birth and continue into the adult years. Physical
awareness starts from birth up until one year of age. Everyone is born with an internal sense of
awareness, but it is only physical. For example, Infants who look in a mirror would not be able
to tell that the image they see is themselves, instead they only recognize that the hand reaching
out towards the mirror is theirs. Around 18 months children are aware that they are separate from
others in the world. (Self recognition). If a red spot is placed on an infant s nose, infants are able
to recognize when looking in the mirror that the dot is on their nose and would touch the dot on
themselves, not the mirror. Around ages two to three, infants can now refer to themselves using
words such as I , or Me . Self esteemalso begins to develop around this age. Children begin to
internalize standards and feelings of good and bad behavior. For example, they will respond
more to Good boy, or good girl , and react more in hopes of receiving that kind of praise. By age
four when children s self concepts start to emerge, they are often aware and proud to show off
their skills and accomplishments. A child who mastered the art of referencing a fire truck as red ,
will start to show off their toy truck and say red to whomever they meet, or whoever is around. If
the child draws a picture,

The Gray Whale Vs Makah Tribe Summary

Thinking and Doing Ethics

Gerard Gorman WCA4
Case #1, page 60: The Gray Whale versus the Makah Tribe, their decision to hunt the whale to instill
pride in the traditions of its culture to younger generations, and the environmental impact of this
action upon the sustainability of the gray whale population.
The parties involved in this matter are the members of the tribe, both for and against the decision,
the whales, the environmentalists, the courts that will settle the lawsuits and future generations that
might be affected by any decision in regards to the impact on the whales sustainability. The
decision at stake here is whether it is moral to revoke the ban and recent tradition, ... Show more

In terms of the utility of this decision to hunt the gray whale, the tribal leaders are attempting to
instill a pride and happiness in the tribe s traditions to bolster their youth. They are not concerned in
the possible consequences of the actions this hunt may environmentally cause later down the road
to the whale population. In Kant s Theory we learned that Kant objected to the idea that morality
could depend on consequences (Burnor and Raley 156), thus the tribe utilizing Kant s theory by
primarily being concerned with instilling pride in its cultural traditions at whatever the possible
cost. The Makah tribal leaders are motivated by their perceived cultural, moral duty to the younger
generations and what they ought to do (Burnor and Raley 217). The Makah tribe is attempting to
exercise its right of property concerning the whales, and its long historical, cultural tradition of
hunting them for rites of passage to manhood and pride. According to Locke this right of property
involves everything over which one should be able to control within their domain of autonomy
(Burnor and Raley 193). The Makah tribe feels it has autonomy over its traditions and religious
beliefs. The tribal leaders feel that they have the moral privilege under natural rights to utilize, or
exercise control over the gray whale

Reducing Number of Infiltration Cycles for La0.8Sr0.2FeO3 YSZ Cathodes
Xiaoyan Li
Abstract
In order to decrease the number of cycles of infiltration and maintain a comparable cathode
performance, the viability of using a conductive composite scaffold of La0.8Sr0.2FeO3 and yttria
stablized zirconia (YSZ) with one infiltration cycle was investigated. The infiltration material is
nitrate salt solution of La, Sr, Co and Fe to form La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3 perovskite phase.
Cathodes fabricated from scaffolds using different ratios of LSF YSZ were tested by impedance
spectroscopy with the results showing that the ohmic resistance decreases as the amount of LSF
increases. In addition, scaffolds calcined at 1350oC exhibited ... Show more content on

1,2 In this case, YSZ is included in the cathode to provide ionic conductivity, as well as enhancing
the connection between the electrode and the YSZ electrolyte. YSZ in the electrode also helps match
the thermal expansion of the electrode to the electrolyte.1 4 The functions of LSM in the composite
cathode include providing electronic conductivity and catalytic activity, but with negligible
contributions to ionic conductivity.4,5
The conventional method for fabricating the electrode is to deposit and sinter a mixture of the
electrode composites onto a dense YSZ electrolyte.4 The sintering temperature must be a
compromise, high enough to ensure the good connection between YSZ in the electrode and the
electrolyte, but low enough to prevent solid state reactions between the electrode composites.2,5
Indeed, most conducting perovkites are unable to be prepared due to the formation of insulating
phases at high temperatures required for YSZ sintering.4 Therefore, the infiltration method was
initially developed to separate the high calcination temperature required to densify the YSZ
electrolyte from the lower calcinations temperature needed for the other electrode components.1,4,5
Furthermore, the infiltration method provides a nonrandom structure where the electronically
conductive components are deposited into the previously formed porous YSZ scaffold.1 4
Infiltration also forms superior

  • 2. Difference Between Misdemeanors And Felonies People understand the difference between right and wrong and that there are going to be consequences for their actions. People also understand that a crime is doing something that is wrong or illegal that there are punishments that fit the crime. However, there are also times when the punishment does not fit the crimeor is excessive. People that commit these crimes do so in hoping that they won t get caught but when they do they know that they are going to have a punishment that fits the crime. This paper is going to look at the difference between misdemeanors and felonies and the punishment that go with the crimes, and the sentencing guidelines in which the courts are supposed to follow, and process in which a criminal can request a sentence reduction, or appealtheir current sentence. People do things every day that they know are wrong, with little or no thought to the consequences. There are consequences for things that we do wrong, whether it s a crime or not. Whether or not people want to admit, they want to feel as if justice has been served, and often times in order for them to feel this way they want the person to serve a lot of time in prison. We understand that justice needs to be served, and that the person who committed the crime needs to face the consequences associated with the crime, but what happens when their punishment is too excessive, or does not fit the crime in which they committed. People go to jail and prisons every day, and some judges ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Hockey Lockout Analysis Since the start of the twenty first century, there has been two different lockouts in the National Hockey League. The first to happen was in the 2004 2005 season. The entire season was lost due to an unsuccessful bargaining agreement. The second one to happen was in the 2012 2013 season. Over sixty percent of the season was lost and the league had to cancel special events such as the Winter Classic games and the All Star Weekend. They were able to salvage the tail end of the season and were still able to have the Stanley Cup Playoffs (The hockey lockout of 2012 2013, 2013). Previously before the mid 1990s, the stoppage of a sports season was usually due to a strike rather than a lockout. As sports grew there became an influx of wealth due... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The agreement seemed to be a victory for the owners, but they continued to pay big salaries to the players. Average salaries grew and started to exceed revenue growth. In 2004, the National Hockey League claimed that they had lost nearly two billion dollars in the past decade. In the negotiations, the league was focuses on the idea of the costs being certain. They would make sure that costs are certain by introducing a salary cap. The union was against the idea of a salary cap and insisted that salaries were based on market conditions and it would not agree to capped team payrolls. As an attempt to save the season, the league dropped the demand that the salaries would not exceed fifty five percent of revenue. The union then reconsidered and became willing to accept a salary cap. The two parties however, could not close the gap on how much the salary cap should be. Neither side would budge and finally time ran out, resulting in the league cancelling the 2004 2005 season. The cancelation caused an estimated two billion in revenue for the teams and roughly one billion in lost salaries from the players. After the season was lost, the Nation Hockey League Players Association finally agreed to a salary cap for the 2005 2006 season and onward (The hockey lockout of 2012 2013, ... During the Industrialization period in the U.S the mass increase of immigration also helped to build America into what it is today. The Industrial age not only was a positive effect on American, but a negative effect towards the factoryworkers. Because of this the industrial revolutioninterpreted a variety of perspectives from the factory workers, factory owners, the government, and also those whoВґve observed the conditions in those industrialized cities during that time. • 5. The Major Problems Of Population Overcrowding In Canada Problems of Population Overcrowding The day when population of GTA reach its maximum may be just around corner. Where and why are people concentrated in GTA? Most people tend to live in cities rather than sub urban areas due to amenities, job opportunities, infrastructure and educational facilities. Also, immigrants are the major reason why the population overcrowded in cities. According to the Government of Ontario, over the past 20 years, the target range of immigrants has been increased gradually. For example, the target range of immigrants was 280,000 to 320,000 in 2017 and 260,000 to 285,000 in 2016. These numbers are about 0.75 per cent of total population in Canada each year. (Ministry of Finance, 2007). These factors cause population overcrowding in GTA and it may lead to several problems such as traffic jams, housing bubbles and the rise in the homeless rate. These problems can be solved by moving infrastructure, regulating using a car once a week and implementing training programs. These days, some people believe that traffic jams occur more often than before. The Toronto Transit System is slowing down due to heavy traffic. Statistics Canada stated that the number of vehicles registered in the Control Vehicle System is 18,608,297 in 2005. But, in 2017, the number of vehicles registered in Ontario is 11,948,296, which is almost two third of number in 2005. (Statistics Canada, 2017). Many of their policies were similar, focusing on reform, destruction of monopolies and trusts, and improving conditions of the common American through policy change in Washington. However, both presidents are remembered in different lights and for vastly different reasons. Theodore Roosevelt unquestionably had the bigger positive impact on American idealism, as he is commemorated on Mount Rushmore and considered one of the five great American presidents. Roosevelt was the naturalist responsible for our national parks, but his policies on military and war were contradictory to the sensitivities he displayed toward nature. Roosevelt led the Rough Riders in the Spanish American War, and led the country similarly. Wilson, like Roosevelt, was a progressive reformer, instituting federal institutes, such as the Federal Reserve and the Federal Trade Commission, but Wilson had quite the opposite ideas of war and conquest. Wilson was slow to enter The Great War, and only did so to preserve American life when Germany began targeting passenger ships carrying American citizens. When America entered the war and helped a achieve a quick, decisive victory for the Allies, he was hailed overseas as the hero from the West. • 10. Italian Immigration And New Immigration From 1890 onward became a part of what is known as New Immigration, which became known as the third and largest wave of immigration to America from Europe. This wave consisted of Slavs, Jews, and Italians. Three million Italians, which was the largest new immigrants, immigrated to America. These immigrants represented all regions of Italymost of them being from Southern Italy. Italian immigrants were driven from their homelands for the many hardships they faced and hoped that America would benefit to their cause only to find that they were faced with new struggles. Many Italians were often referred to as birds of passage because they had only planned on staying in the United States temporarily just until they could gain enough money to support their life back in Italy. Poverty, overpopulation, politics, and natural disasters have had Italians packing but only temporarily. Poverty was the main reason that Italians felt the need to leave. With northern Italians in control of the government high taxes and protective tariffs on northern industries hurt southern Italians. Along with that, roughly eighty percent of Italians lived off of agriculture. Many farming tools were inefficient due to the lack of modern technology, which did not allow for improvement. Sesis And Septic Shock Research Paper Sepsis and Septic Shock have been my personal topic after the life of young Kamil Williams and a 31 year old Texas man who both contacted a bacterial infection later turn into sepsis. Although I have not formally studied it during my school or university years, I still find the human body, how it can break down and react to certain ailments interesting. The next question would be why does this happen? Well when there is infection or insult upon the body s immune system normal reacts and causing an inflammatory response. This normally a good thing and it promotes healing and the resolution of the insult, however in Septic Shockthe inflammatory response comes explosive and uncontrollable. According to Allison Hotujec, the author of Severe Sepsisand Septic Shock Protocols, Sepsis has been called a malignant intravascular inflammation. What Is The Unity Of Effect In The Raven By Edgar Allan Poe Martha Garbarini Ms. Hopkins P3 H English II September 23, 2015 Wondering Nevermore Edgar Allan Poe was one of the most influential authors of his time, being highly regarded as a pivotal figure of Romanticism in American Literature. For many, the name brings to mind images of madmen and dark, twisted tales of fate. In Poe s work, he had a way of impacting his readers deeply, through language choice, all, and elaborate imagery. In one of Poe s most acclaimed works, The Raven, unity of effect is achieved very well through skillful language choice. In stanza sixteen, Poe writes, By that Heaven that bends above us by that God we both adore Tell this soul with sorrow laden if, within the distant Aidenn, It shall clasp a sainted maiden whom the angels name Lenore. Essay on Solving HealthCare’s eMail Security Problem Solving HealthCare s eMail Security Problem Abstract While healthcare organizations have come to depend heavily on electronic mail, they do so without a significant email security infrastructure. New Federal law and regulation place new obligations on the organizations to either secure their email systems or drastically restrict their use. This paper discusses email security in a healthcare context. The paper considers and recommends solutions to the healthcare organization s problem in securing its mail. Particularly relevant to email use is a specification for encryption of health information communicated over any network for which the transmitter cannot control access (45 CFR Part 142.308[d][1][ii]). This restriction clearly is intended to apply to the healthcare organization s Internet bound electronic mail. This paper broadly outlines steps that healthcare organizations can take to ensure the security of their electronic mail use. A substantial portion of this activity has a Security 101 aspect to it. Healthcare organizations are generally exposed to the same Internet borne threats as any other type organization. As a result, healthcare organizations do well to follow the general recommendations for email security provided in documents such as NIST s Guidelines for Electronic Mail Security . Healthcare organizations do have business imperatives and legal obligations, however, that may encumber routine application of email security best practice. Therefore, this paper will provide a healthcare industry context to its discussion of electronic mail security. What Is The Controversy Of Huckleberry Finn Some literary critics agree with Ernest Hemingway that all modern American literature comes from one book by Mark Twain called Huckleberry Finn... it s the best book we ve had. While others feel that The Adventures of Huckleberry Finndoes not belong in the literary canon and that it is itself literally incoherent (Jehlen). Unquestionably, it is now one of the most often debated major work in American literature (Fertig). Factors Affecting The Business Organization Introduction: In the process of manufacturing, packaging, marketing and other necessary business activities, businesses interact with internal and external factors which may affect the business and can be affected by the business as well. A combination of both of the factors comprises the business environment in which the business operates. The internal factors refer to the factors those function within the business organization and the business can control or facilitate them as needed. Some prominent internal factors are the working conditions, employees, employer to employee relations, organizational culture and organizational structure etc. For a British American online chain store like ASDA, the total numbers of employees working for the organization (140,000 employees working in 500 stores) is a key internal factor. The evening lecture held by Prof. Corbett gave an excellent introduction to the topic with his evening lecture by presenting Bellows mutual themes with the Ashcan School, due of them being the relationship between the artists and New York City. Both The Eumenides and The Bacchae depict the conflict between the rational and the irrational, yet the act and solution are presented differently. Starting off with the story behind the problem, irrationality is demonstrated by the characters of Hera, Semele and her family. Hera symbolizes irrationality through her emotions, violence and chaos. She is jealous and revengeful of Zeus, who is unfaithful and had a child with another woman. She makes Semele, the mistress of Zeus, desire Zeus in his true form, ultimately leading to her death because no mortal could stand being exposed to so much power. Although Zeus is able to save their baby, this violence and chaos causes Dionysus family to hate him. Semele symbolizes irrationality through her emotions and disaster to the natural world. She may be lead by Hera to desire to see Zeus in his true form, but she knew there were going to be consequences. She also symbolizes disaster to the natural world by getting involved with the god of all gods and she brings chaos and hatred upon her family towards her son through her desires. • 22. Implicit Bias Analysis Implicit Biases in Reader Response Reading Jane Austen has never appealed to me. The combination of dated prose, a general aversion to plots I deemed to be too romantic , and my viewing of the film adaptations were enough to keep me away from her novels. When I was asked to read Persuasion for a class, I was hesitant and unwilling to fully engage with the material. This prevented me from enjoying the book fully. I didn t quite know what was holding me back from enjoying the book, but I knew that it was something more than my explicit biases against Austen. After a little reflection, I realized that my implicit biases were shaping my reading of Austen. My implicit bias against a novel and author that I perceived as overly feminine was coloring how I was interacting with and what messages I was taking from Persuasion (Austen). Implicit biases are the unconscious attitudes that shape our thoughts, actions, and beliefs (Banaji and Greenwald 46; Staats et al. 10; Schneider 169).Their impact is important to study because implicit biases shape our responses to situations. Reader response theory examines how a reader responds to a given text. Theorists such as Jauss and Eco include concepts that implicit bias can and should be built into. Jauss horizons examine how our experiences, expectations, culture, and place in time shape how we react and create meaning. Every single driver has habits that they acquired throughout the years of driving. Some don t use blinkers, others tend to go over the speed limit, and others don t wear seatbelts. Majority of those drivers can fall into one of the following categories: the carefree reckless driver, the overly cautious driver, and the normal driver which is the most preferred. We have all seen it, you are drivingdown the road and then out of nowhere a car comes flying past you in the other lane. That is a prime example of what we consider a carefree and reckless driver. You see, a carefree and reckless driver is one that cares about nobody but themselves when driving. They are the people that you see going fifteen to twenty miles per hour over the speed limit with no signs of slowing down. Sure they might have an excuse of I was late for work or a family emergency came up but in general you are still a reckless driver and carefree. I think we all can relate when I say that we see enough of these drivers on the daily. But what other traits do carefree and reckless drivers exhibit? One big trait is that they are always switching back and forth between lanes of traffic. They become so impatient that they feel the need to constantly switch back and forth between lanes so they are one car closer to being at their destination. Another one of the dominant traits ... • 24. Behavioral Characteristics Of An Entrepreneur Concepts of taking risks have regularly been associated with behavioural characteristics of an entrepreneur. A study on intention of nascent entrepreneurs, Caliendo et al (2009) discovered individuals who are less risk adverse tends to enter self employment but this only applies for those leaving regular employment. Risk attitudes however, do not affect the decision process for those moving away from inactivity or unemployment. The early work of Schumpeter (1934) pointed out that the accountability of risk hinders on ownership, and given that entrepreneurs does not necessarily signify owners, risk propensity should be excluded as part of the traits of an entrepreneur. In its place, Schumpeter suggests innovation to be the primary trait of entrepreneurship. Although scholars are ambivalent with regards to the role of risk taking propensity when determining an entrepreneur, yet many studies have taken into account risk propensity as an entrepreneurial trait when it comes to identifying entrepreneurial intentions (Rauch and Frese 2007; Zhao et al 2010; BrandstГ¤tter 2011). II.Innovation Innovation has remained a continuously represented functional trait of entrepreneurs in literature (Carland et al 1984; Dyer et al 2008; Schaltegger and Wagner 2011; Nochian and Schott 2012). Some deep water octopuses are exceptions. (Octopuses Squids,n.d) How do octopuses and squids reproduce? The male octopus uses a specialized arm called a hectocotylus to transfer sperm to the mantle cavity of a receptive female. The female lays strings of fertilized eggs on the roof of her den. She guards, cleans and aerates the eggs with water expelled from her siphon until hatching. This can be anywhere from 30 days to a year, depending on the species. The female may build a wall of rocks to seal off the den and will remain in the den until just before she dies, after the eggs have hatched. To begin, Macbeth did not brutally murder King Duncan in his sleep, but rather defeated him in a battle near Elgin Morayshire in August, 1040 (Johnson). It was then that Macbeth respectably claimed the title of King of the Scots because of his relation to Kenneth MacAlpin (the first King of the Scots), unlike in Shakespeare s play, where Macbeth is only given the crown because Duncan s two sons run away ( Macbeth. Since the olden ages, humans are still holding crimes against other people applicable by death. But now, as humanity grows and our minds expand to new ideas and thinking, we have come to the conclusion: As humans, do we really have the right to take away another soul s life and living? So, as capital punishmentmakes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Capital punishment assesses the perseverance of humanity and its morals. Because, the question is, is the federal government allowed to murder such souls though tainted? But, the question is more, do these victims deserve the cruelty of death? Expressing one s violence does not suppress it, in fact, it simply enforces the desire to express it. Controlling and demonstrating emotions in such a way that contaminates the good will in humans that is able to understand sentiment. As stated by Thurgood Marshall, the late Justice of the Supreme Court, in in a June 29, 1972 Furman v. Georgia, In judging whether or not a given penalty is morally acceptable, most courts have said that the punishment is valid unless it shocks the conscience and sense of justice of the people. Assuming knowledge of all the facts presently available regarding capital punishment, the average citizen would, in my opinion, find it shocking to his conscience and sense of justice. For this reason alone, capital punishment cannot stand. Thinking rationally, while inputting variables into the equation of the justice of capital punishment, you could assume, depending on your variables, that capital punishment might be of a formidable use. But thinking with your soul is much different. A gut decision , you may call it. But, why would a functioning being, with a valid reason, chose to voluntarily murder a soul, another one, similar to yours? The government is a social ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. How My Major and Minor Will Help in My Endeavors Explaining the importance of my major and minor is very simple. My major will be general business; the reasoning behind this choice is I have always been fascinated by business. I loved my economics classes which fueled my interest for investing and looking at companies and gauging their worth and risk. In this regard i feel like having a general business degree will help me find a job in anything business as I will have a wide spread knowledge on the topic, while I do love business that is not my main goal. To understand that you have to look at my minor, this will be communications. I have always been a people person, I loved talking with everyone about anything and understanding their interests and expressing my own. In the past semester I took a speech class and found I really enjoyed it which got me thinking about what i wanted to do when I graduate. This is when it all comes together. My major is business which will give me the background into business that I need. My minor is communications which will give me the skills I need to go into either public relations or a salesman for a large company. I feel the importance of these degrees should be easily identifiable. Everyone needs someone to talk for and be the face for a large company. That is where I see myself in ten years, working for a company as a public relations representative. • 38. The African Struggle Over Time The African struggle over time has been a topic discussed by many scholars. In Walter Rodney s, How Europe Underdeveloped Africa, he approaches the issue of how Africa s power was stolen from them. Rodney focuses on the relationship between Africa and Europe and the effects of exploitation on the African people by, reinforcing the conclusion that African development is possible only on the basis of a radical break with the international capitalist system. The tone in which the book is wrote uses Marxism, which can be controversial, to focus more on economic and political theories. Rodney argues that if it wasn t for this exploitation, African societies would not be impoverished today. Six chapters are used to explain the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Chapter three Rodney focuses on the colonial period in which Africa helped develop the capitalist progression in Europe. Colonialism was not merely a system of exploitation but one whose essential purpose was to repatriate the profit to the so called mother land, states Rodney. Chapter four gives an historical background of Africa in 1885 and emphasizes on the value that came from the enslavement of Africans. This time period holds a major significance to the underdevelopment of Africa because of the Berlin conference. Africa was then divided up due to the scramble in which Europeans fought over power. The fifth chapter argues that colonialism was the main factor in underveloping Africa as a whole. Rodney argues that colonialism only did one thing, and that was steal Africa s resources and strip them of their land. Europeans took so much from the Africans and made sure to give nothing back which explains the type of relationship they had. In chapter six, Rodney argues against past scholars who believed that colonialism had valuable outcomes in the end. The author shows how the economic and political state Africa was left robbed due to colonialism, he then provides strategies to fight against the underdevelopment. It is clear that that Rodney is pushing his audience to understand that Europe should be held ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 42. Essay about Howard Stern How might one explain Howard Stern? Yes, he is a refreshing change from the typical, politically correct figure, and he provides humor and sex for late night audiences who are growing weary of Leno and Letterman. And while Howard Stern, shock jock turned television host, is more on the same wavelength as a Jerry Springer than a late night comic, Stern has always claimed like Jerry that his show is just an act. The idea that Howard Stern could come close but not too close to naked women on his television show, might have created the impression that this was just an act after all. Although he has achieved remarkable success for an unremarkable act, he is obviously not happy in his personal life. What Stern continues to do is to integrate his radio persona with real life and in some ways, he cannot separate the two. What most people know about Stern s one big mistake had nothing to do with a lesbian bimbo getting too close, but rather his talking about Alison s miscarriage on the air. That is what most know about Howard Stern. His life has been aired in the film Private Parts and he tells the world how he feels every day. While he is flamboyant, and pushes the envelope, one thing is true. Howard Stern is at least consistent. What does this mean? While Stern on one hand objectifies women on the show, and then talks about his wife lovingly, that is a contradiction. But he maintains that this act is just that and both parts of that personality co exist. Many wonder why the show is still on the air as it is somewhat offensive and really does nothing new, even as the years go by. Ratings had in fact dropped for this successful host, but they soon picked up again. Donovan reported that while Stern s Saturday night show had been in the doldrums, the marital breakup had helped ratings (Donovan 226). But one question remains. What will Stern do now that he is on available again? That is not an easy one to answer. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Goldilocks Affirmative Defense Goldilocks has admitted to having committed the act of murder and burglary, however, she asserts affirmative defenses that would exonerate her actions from criminal liability. Affirmative dense brings to light danger for the defense because once admitting the act the defendants have the burden to, start matters off by putting in some evidence in support of their justification or excuse defenses (Samaha, 2011). In addition, the burden of production will shift to the defense and it is now the prosecution s job to cause doubt upon the defense s case. In Goldilocks case of a justification defense this would involve her use of self defense and its necessity being that under the circumstances, it was the right thing to do (Samaha, 2011). Furthermore,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For an attack to be considered self defense it must apply to four requirements. The first is unprovoked attacks in which the defender has to have not started or provoked the attack. In Goldilocks case this is held because she was attempting to leave when Prince Charming saw and forcibly locked her inside. The second requirement is necessity which is, also known as the choice of evils, reflects popular moral intuitions and common sense: sometimes, breaking the rules is the right indeed, the only thing to do in order to avoid a greater evil (Bergelson, 2012). In Goldilocks case this choice of evils was a fact in both acts the burglary where she was given a choice to either starve to death or break into a home so she can eat. The other instance was the Prince Charming reaching for his walking stick that he uses to constantly physically abuse her and the choice to defend herself. The third element of self defense is proportionality which is the ability of a defender to use deadly force if no deadly force is not enough to repel the oncoming attack with no excessive force (Samaha, 2011). In Goldilocks case Prince Charming is not only bigger and stronger than her she was in no state where she could run away or hide she had no choice. The last requirement is reasonable belief which is the belief that it was necessary to use deadly force to repel the imminent deadly attack (Samaha, 2011). • 44. The Importance Of Self Esteem And Social Identity There are a series of important steps in the development of one s self concept, self esteem and social identity. These steps begin from birth and continue into the adult years. Physical awareness starts from birth up until one year of age. Everyone is born with an internal sense of awareness, but it is only physical. For example, Infants who look in a mirror would not be able to tell that the image they see is themselves, instead they only recognize that the hand reaching out towards the mirror is theirs. Around 18 months children are aware that they are separate from others in the world. (Self recognition). If a red spot is placed on an infant s nose, infants are able to recognize when looking in the mirror that the dot is on their nose and would touch the dot on themselves, not the mirror. Around ages two to three, infants can now refer to themselves using words such as I , or Me . Self esteemalso begins to develop around this age. Children begin to internalize standards and feelings of good and bad behavior. For example, they will respond more to Good boy, or good girl , and react more in hopes of receiving that kind of praise. By age four when children s self concepts start to emerge, they are often aware and proud to show off their skills and accomplishments. A child who mastered the art of referencing a fire truck as red , will start to show off their toy truck and say red to whomever they meet, or whoever is around. If the child draws a picture, ... In Kant s Theory we learned that Kant objected to the idea that morality could depend on consequences (Burnor and Raley 156), thus the tribe utilizing Kant s theory by primarily being concerned with instilling pride in its cultural traditions at whatever the possible cost. The Makah tribal leaders are motivated by their perceived cultural, moral duty to the younger generations and what they ought to do (Burnor and Raley 217). The Makah tribe is attempting to exercise its right of property concerning the whales, and its long historical, cultural tradition of hunting them for rites of passage to manhood and pride. According to Locke this right of property involves everything over which one should be able to control within their domain of autonomy (Burnor and Raley 193). The infiltration material is nitrate salt solution of La, Sr, Co and Fe to form La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3 perovskite phase.
