Adenotonsillar Hyperplasia Research Paper
Enlarged palatine and pharyngeal tonsils is one of the most frequent occurrences in
otorhinolaryngology. (1) The adenotonsillar hyperplasia is the most common cause of respiratory
obstruction in children and unchains obstructive sleep disorders that include a variable group of
abnormalities such as snoring and sleep obstructive apnea syndrome. Moreover, these children may
present with a high incidence of recurrent infections of the upper airways with the frequent use of
antibiotics. (2) It is the main cause of sleep disorders in children, and responsible for 75% of cases of
sleep apnea. (3) In children, enlarged adenoids and tonsils play a major role in obstructive sleep
apnoea. A history of obstruction (snoring, apnoea), sleep disruption (restless sleep, arousals, daytime
symptoms) and suggestive physical findings are indications for adenotonsillectomy in most affected
children (Ray and Bower 2005). Adenotonsillar hyperplasia may cause dysphagia and swallowing

It may be the region of a series of pathological processes, specially infectious ones and results in a
number of important signs and symptoms, mainly in children with a decreased immune response, that
generate recurrent pictures of tonsillitis. (6,7) This is one of the main reasons for prescription and
indiscriminate use of antibiotic with a consequent increase of the bacterial resistance and selection. (8)
Although the allergic rhinitis is not the essential factor in the genesis of the adenoid hyperplasia, there
are traces of its major incidence in children with rhinitis and it is one more factor that contributes for
the installation of a chronic inflammatory reaction of the nasal mucosa, which stimulates the

The Conflict Between Judaism And The Hellenistic And Roman...
As dissimilar as they were, the encounter between Judaism and the Hellenistic and Roman worlds
with the latter taking on much of what the Greeks stood for should not be considered as a clash
between civilizations. Doing so, I believe, would render a complex society and a dynamic process into
an absolute and a static one. The postexilic period had obviously brought Jews into contact and in
activity with the surrounding non Jewish communities in which they now lived; however, this social
and commercial interaction with the non Jews was enhanced, like never before, with the emergence of
the Greco Roman eras. The Jews often managed to retain control over their own internal affairs and
found favor before various rulers, but pagan ritual, idolatry, and Greco Roman philosophies became
almost impossible to avoid.
These new realities posed a serious challenge to Judaism and Alexander the Great s idea of uniting the
world by pushing for a common language and culture, Homonoia, only served to accelerate and
intensify this challenge. Yet, the very nature of this Hellenic culture would, itself, allow the Judean
society to establish various paths of accommodation to the conquerors. Thus, in reality, Hellenism was
but a framework that enabled Judaism to flourish within a new setting without compromising its
indigenous and unique character. The translation of the Scriptures into Greek, precisely because the
Hellenized Jews were unable to read it in Hebrew, is an example of

enlarging German army in 1939, Britain was under pressure to also increase its army. Conscription
was introduced in April 1939, women that were unmarried and between the ages of 19 30 were
conscripted and sent to factories to work on production of military goods. Single men between 20 and
23 were required to serve in one of the armed forces. About 3.2 million British men were conscripted
for the Second World War. The United States also introduced conscription in 1940 when there was
high unemployment and by 1943, there was a high shortage of manpower[10] Canada was a great
contributor of soldiers and resources among the small allied powers of the war. About 10% of its
population were either conscripted or worked for the military during World War II.[11] The economic
effect of conscription was serious because it meant a great reduction in the number of taxpayers whilst
an increase in government spending to train, maintain and pay military. Also, many women became
widows and breadwinners of the family after the death of their husbands during service

An Analysis Of Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
Koziol 9
Creating Life
To say that fiction or fantasy relies solely on the imagination, would lessen the importance that the
personal lives of many fantasy writers plays on the conception of a story. For Mary Shelley, her life
was the basis and inspiration, maybe subconsciously, of her very first, and arguably most famous
novel, Frankenstein. Through the influences of people and events, Mary Shelley was able to write
about friendship and alienation in Frankenstein.
The creation of life is at the center of the novel, and the creation of Mary s life plays a big part in who
she was from birth until her death. Mary was born in 1797 to William Godwin and Mary
Wollstonecraft.1 William Godwin and Mary Wollstonecraft were both very ... Show more content on

When Mary was fourteen, she was sent to Scotland to stay with Mr. William Baxter. Mary was glad to
get away from her step mother in London. This time was the beginning of Mary s life as a writer.
Mary recollected, . . . as the daughter of two persons of distinguished literary celebrity, I should very
early in life have thought of writing. . . my favourite pastime . . . was to write stories . 5 Mary was
educated by tutors at home, in the writings of her parents and in foreign language.6 Her time in
Scotland was full of leisure, so Mary began to compose stories.7 She thought back on her time there
with fondness and comfort. When Mary returned home to London, her house on Skinner Street was
constantly busy with different writers and thinkers who came to sit and talk with Godwin. Percy
Bysshe Shelley was an admirer of Godwin s, and wrote to him in request to be a regular houseguest.
Godwin agreed and Shelley began to go daily to Skinner Street with his then wife, Harriet.8 Shelley
was a well read young man who had been kicked out of Oxford University for a piece he did in
support of atheism. He was a breath of fresh air to Mary. Mary at the time was about the age of
seventeen. She enjoyed her father s company, but the men were much older than she was. Shelley was
only twenty one, and Mary was physically attracted to him.9 Mary would take books to her mother s

Ancient China s Multipolar System
Systems are comprised of different actors (states or governments), which interact in a way that can be
characterized as a whole. Certain actors in these systems can develop economically and militarily. The
actors may be categorized under multipolar, bipolar or unipolar systems. Multipolarity presents itself
as multiple countries, typically 3 or more, which have comparable amount of military and economic
power. Bipolarity occurs when two countries have equal economic and military capabilities.
Unipolarity exists when one powerful entity dominates the rest. The stability of these systems may
depend on the category of polarity. A system is considered stable when no more than 10% of a state s
power is reduced after a war. Looking at Chinese/Greek ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These states formed the multipolar system as they exercised control over activities and negotiations of
the surrounding weaker units. Then, Athenians established and ruled over the Delian League, alliances
made up of independent and tributary city states. Many of these city states voluntarily accepted the
effective Athenian laws, courts and currency. In turn, Athens provided their allies with protection
against Persia and pirates. Athens also facilitated trade connections between its allies and the non
Hellenic people. Amidst the success of Athens, serious disputes over the fear Athenian imperialism
and expansion rose. For that reason, the Spartans led the competitors and established a rival
organization, the Peloponnesian League. By 431 B.C., the Greek city state system shifted from being
multipolar to bipolar. Athens led one bloc and had the support of its voluntary and tributary allies. On
the other hand, Sparta led the other bloc with the members of the Peloponnesian League. The bipolar
characteristic of the Greek city states was stable. First of all, no wars were fought (no state lost power
at all) in order to create the Delian League or Peloponnesian League. Voluntary actions to accept
alliances with the two blocs of Athens and Sparta made this bipolar system stable even with the
conflicting

I Believe Vision And College Alumni Into Accelerating...
Introduction
I believe vision promotes and excels college alumni into accelerating career pathways that promote
autonomy, innovation, and leadership expressed independently and as a team. Fostering the next
generation builds the framework for the assumptions relied upon to support the community needs for
career ready hires. In addition, vision aligns personal beliefs and career goals as a career services,
director. I would articulate, steward, and promote this vision to foster alignment with stakeholders
students, parents, and community leaders. In turn, encouraging career goals through exploration
through desires, needs, individual values, behavior and actions. Simply the opportunity to lead in
providing students with tools to make strategic and informed decisions about the career paths.
Articulating a Vision I believe collaborative planning with faculty, career development officers, and
hiring recruiters from a shared governance perspective. In addition, to articulating, developing and
rolling out the vision and prompting feedback to measure those expected outcomes. I would start by
communicating with those who teach, requesting structured curriculum to incorporate career
opportunities relative to their courses. The effective avenues to reach the masses would include
forums, press releases, college open houses, career fairs, website presence, faculty retreats, courses
and college wide updates all areas requiring community/workforce collaboration.

Six Sigma And Total Quality Management
Abstract
This paper is an analysis of the three published journals on Six Sigma model. This literature review
discusses about the different parameters which are used in implementing a successful Six Sigma
methodology. Kamran Moosaa* and Ali Sajidb (2010) made a study on critical analysis of Six Sigma
implementation. Six Sigma is known as a method, metric or a programme. It follows a DMAIC
(Define, Measure, Analyze, Improvement, and Control) process. The other articles state that how
teamwork and process management are beneficial for Six Sigma implementation in an organization.
Hence, this literature review evaluates that Six Sigma is better in pursuing continuous improvement in
customer satisfaction, increasing profits, and in overall business strategy when compared to other
Total Quality Management tools.
Comparison between Six Sigma and Total Quality Management tools
Have really Six Sigma took a place over other Total Quality Management tools in continuous
improvement of all processes in an organizations? Six Sigma has become a popular methodology ever
since it was first introduced by Motorola in the US during the 1980s (Kamran Moosaa* and Ali
Sajidb, 2010). It started gaining popularity once case studies from companies like Motorola, GE, and
Allied Signals started spreading across the globe. In a short span of time, Six Sigma found its place
amongst the CEOs and quality managers of companies in the late 1990s. Six Sigma is an improved
version of quality

Essay Child Development Study
Child Development Study For my child development study I am going to observe how a child shows
their physical, emotional, social and intellectual development and skills. I will observe this child over
a year and record their improvement of these skills. Physical Description I went to the child s house on
the 20th of February a 13:00pm, I was there for about 2 and a half hours. Her name Is Hilary and she
is 3 years, 3 months and 3 weeks and 2 days. She was born on the 20th of November 2001. Hilary is
3ft 4 inches (101cm) and weighs 2 stone and 3lbs (31 lbs). The average height and weight of a 3 year
old is 94cm and 31 lbs, Hilary is a normal size child because she weighs 3 lbs and is only 6cm taller

She sang Humpty Dumpty , Ring of Roses and another song that her grandmother had taught her from
Nigeria. However when I asked her to do a small activity which involved small muscles she became
quite and relaxed. From both these activities that I asked her to do, It showed that she has two ways in
which she can behave; a calm way when involving fine motor skills and energetic way when
involving gross motor skills. Hilary showed her demanding and quiet jealous personality when her
younger sister would come over and try to join in with the activity that I was doing with Hilary. Her
temperamental side showed when she slouched off with her arms folded, I then had to go and
convince her to play another game so she would be happy again. Also after we had been playing for a
few hours she became a bit irritable and tired, and started to be bossy and greedy telling me that she
can do it herself . that made her become easily bored and distracted as well. By this time it was time
for me to go home, I told Hilary that I had to go so she cam and gave me a hug. That showed that even
though she was irritable and tired she was still affectionate enough to give me a hug before I went.
Family Background Hilary is one of two siblings, her younger sister is called Chanella. Hilary is 1
year and 2 weeks older than Chanella. Because there is such a small age gap between the two children
they get on very well. Hilary is like a role model to her younger

Essay On Diabetes
There is a direct association between hyperglycemia and physiological and behavioral responses.
During hyperglycemia, the brain recognizes it and sends a message through nerve impulses to
pancreas and other organs to decrease its effect (Baynes, 2015). The autoimmune destruction of
pancreatic β cells, leads to a deficiency of insulin secretion which results in the metabolic
derangements associated with T1DM. Normally, hyperglycemia leads to reduced glucagon secretion;
however, in patients with T1DM, glucagon secretion is not suppressed by hyperglycemia (Holt, 2004).
The resultant inappropriately elevated glucagon levels exacerbate the metabolic defects due to insulin
deficiency. In type 2 diabetes these mechanisms break down, with the ... Show more content on

This type1 diabetes is a relatively homogeneous disease in which the insulin secretion of beta cells in
the pancreas starts to decline and eventually ceases totally.
3.4.2. Type 2 diabetes: Type 2 diabetes is characterized by insulin resistance and/or abnormal insulin
secretion (Alberti, 1998). About 90% of all diabetes cases account for type2 (Zimmet, 2001). The
inability of the pancreas to produce insulin or production of insufficient insulin, or the insulin itself is
inactive in the case of type2 diabetes (Naemiratch, 2007). In the case of type 2 diabetes, the blood
sugar is controlled either through diet, with oral hypoglycemic drugs or in extreme cases with
exogenous insulin (Inzicchi, 2002; Gannon, 2006). Individuals with type 2 diabetes mostly exhibit
intra abdominal (visceral) obesity. The presence of hypertension and dyslipidemia (high triglyceride
and low HDL cholesterol levels; postprandial hyperlipidemia) are also observed in these individuals.
Type2 diabetes is the most common form and is highly associated with a family history of diabetes,
older age, obesity and lack of exercise. This type of diabetes is more common in women, especially
women with a history of gestational diabetes, and in Blacks, Hispanics and Native Americans
(Baynes, 2015).
3.4.3. Other specific type of diabetes: Diabetes may also result from other forms. Diabetes can be seen
in individuals suffering or having suffered from certain

Benefits Of Urban Community Gardening
Benefits of Urban Community Gardening
Melinda L. Smith
Charter Oak State College
Research question
What are the significant benefits offered through urban community gardening, which would cause one
to participate in the practice?
Thesis statement
There are many advantages to participation in community gardening because gardening reduces air
pollution and heat islands, helps in crime prevention, and most significant of all can affect one s
health.
Literature Review
Kathleen Wolf and Alicia Robbins presented different benefits in the article Metro Nature,
Environmental Health and Economic Value in an effort to present the economic values associated with
exposure to nature outline many of the positive advantages associated with ones exposure to different
elements of nature, such as urban greenspaces. Important health benefits relate to reduced air pollution
and increases to an active lifestyle. The additional physical activity helps to reduce obesity, lower
blood pressure, and produce extended life spans.
In the survey Allotment Gardening and Health: A Comparative Survey other positive benefits
associated with gardening are identified. While the article is written to compare the different effects of
allotment gardening compared to those people without allotments, generally the overall advantages
associated with gardening are recognized regardless of whether a gardener is working with a small
group of family members or a larger group of community gardeners.

Stifled Women in The Yellow Wallpaper, Rappaccini s Daughter, and Beloved
A connection can be drawn among the stories listed above regarding women who live as prisoners.
Beatrice, of Rappaccini s Daughter, is confined to a garden because of her father s love of science, and
she becomes the pawn to several men s egos. The woman of The Yellow Wallpaper is trapped by her
own family s idea of how she should conduct herself, because her mood and habit of writing are not
normal to them. Sethe, of Beloved, carries the burden of her past and also the past of all slaves. She is
unwelcome in her community and a prisoner in her own home, where she is forced to confront these
memories of slavery. All three of these women are viewed by ... Show more content on

Each man only saw what he wanted to see regarding Beatrice, and for Giovanni, it was most complex.
Her father probably had good intentions when he caused his daughter to be poisonous. He did it as a
means of protection, but this backfired, because the tendency of others to misunderstand Beatrice s
complex makeup led them to unintentionally kill her. Each of the three men in Rappaccinni s Daughter
wanted to mold Beatrice into something and each had his own idea of her identity, yet none of them
looked at her subjectively. This is pointed out by Luedtke on page 188. When he (Giovanni) was
unable to bring Beatrice rigidly and systematically within the realm of his own experience, and
unwilling to risk a closer knowledge, Giovanni left the poison damsel to die in her own pleasure place.
It is interesting to note Luedtke s use of the words pleasure place . This suggests that the poisonous
garden was not the real problem or prison for Beatrice. An interesting point is revealed by Luedtke as
he states, The author makes a late attempt to intertwine her poison and her purity, but the demonic and
the angelic continue to occupy their separate spheres, the former of the body, the latter of the soul. As
Baglioni s antidote takes effect, eradicating the poison from Beatrice s system, her physical life is
consumed. The soul might be innocent but it has no resting place. (181) If Beatrice s soul had no

One was an elderly man, another was a man suffering from illness, and finally he saw a dead body
surrounded by mourners. Since he had never seen anything like this before, he asked his charioteer
what these things were. He responded to the Prince that these things were natural and unavoidable,
and happened to everyone. Once again Siddhartha asked his charioteer to take him out into the city;
this time he was to see the last of four images that would change his life forever. The last sight he saw
was a wandering old holy man with no possessions. His head was completely shaved and he was
wearing a yellow robe. Having seen all these things, Buddha not only became aware of the pain and
suffering of humankind, but was also prompted to do something about it. He left his family in search
of the answers to his questions (Buddhism).
Siddhathra traveled throughout the northeastern portion of India, seeking out holy men and teachers
who taught him ancient Indian techniques of meditation. Even though meditation was important to
him, his main quest was to find the answer to the problem of suffering. He wanted to know why they
were suffering and how it could stop. So Siddhartha studied the teachings of Hinduism. He was very

Childhood And Going Into Adult Hood
Attachment is defined as affection, fondness or sympathy for someone or something.
There have been different researchers and various types of research that has been done over the years
to try and uncover the mystery that what happens in the first few years of your life will determine
what happens in the later stages on childhood and going into adult hood. Research into the subject of
insecure attachment sparked an interest in the world of psychology in 1948 with the research John
Bowlby did on maternal attachment. Bowlby interviewed 44 juvenile thieves who were in a protection
programme and 44 other juvenile who have not yet committed any crime to act as the control group

In addition, although that the majority went to prove what he was testing it is not 100% true as there
was 14% who were not separated and still went on to commit crime, this leads to other theory s
getting created.
Another psychologist who has had major input in the subject of attachment is Spitz and Wolf (1946).
Spitz and Wolf (1946) studied 91 orphanage infants in USA and Canada (3) , what they found amazed
the world of attachment. They found that despite getting better care and maintaining adequate health
many had died before their first birthday. This and Bowlby s research lends a hand in understanding
attachment and both complement each other in facts. Seen as Bowlby was researching about the
critical stage in development the research that Spitz and Wolf did also proves that.
This is because both of the infants were apart from a proper caregiver during this stage and this
effected their later development unfortunately for a third of Spitz and wolfs participants the latter
development never happened. There is an issue with both of these studies and it is in the time of which
they were doing their research.

men were previously. Therefore there was urgency to have a reason for the mothers

Essay about The Turks and Mongols
In order to discuss the movements of Asiatic peoples into Europe from the first inroad of the Huns to
the conquests of the Osmanli Turks in the sixteenth century, it will be necessary to review briefly the
events in central and eastern Asia which preceded and precipitated these incursions.
From the time that the Irano Aryan ancestors had arrived in Russian Turkestan in anticipation of their
descent into the hills of northwestern India, much of this grassy plain had been the home of those
Iranians who remained behind while their kinsmen climbed the mountains which would take them into
India and the Irano Afghan plateau. These Iranians apparently developed, or borrowed, a high degree
of adaptation to their steppe environment, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When we view the Hunnish inroad into Europe in the light of the total context of Old World history, it
ceases to be a strange inruption of hideous and invincible barbarians darting out of nowhere, as it at
first appeared to the Byzantines and Romans. The Huns were a people who had been exposed to a
high civilization that of China; they were cultured if illiterate, and in every sense the match of the
frightened adversaries whom they met in Europe. When we examine the details of these invasions, we
see that it was not one simple inroad, but a series of them in which a perplexing confusion of names is
involved. Chief of the newcomers, after the Huns, were the Avars, who arrived in the sixth century.
The Huns considered these their kinsmen and equals, and later amalgamated with them after the Avars
had, in the eighth century, been defeated by Charlemagne and had retreated, some to Hungary and
others to the Don country.
From the fall of the Huns until the rise of the Mongols some thousand years later, the history of central
Asia is simply a repetition of the same theme; some obscure sub tribe would become important, win
leadership over the others, and head new invasions of increasing complexity. The history of southern
Russia became extremely complicated, for the steppes of the Don country served as a terminal point
for all but the most serious of these movements.
After the Avars came the Turks, called

The Mission Of Carbon Offsets
Our Mission The mission of Carbon Offsets To Alleviate Poverty (COTAP) is to empower individuals
and organizations in developed countries to address both climate change and global poverty. COTAP
counteracts your carbon emissions through certified forestry projects in least developed regions which
create transparent, accountable, and life changing earnings for rural farming communities where
income levels are less than $2 per day. The Problem In developing regions around the world, hundreds
of millions of people live in rural areas on less than $2 per day. This level of poverty forces
communities to make hard choices between food, health care, and education. It is the poverty level
where an estimated 11 million children die every year. Many of these communities are not fits for
traditional microfinance, which tends to be primarily urban, and significant portions of their land are
not suitable for agriculture. While there are many promising technical innovations and development
programs which can increase crop yields, there remains a geographic limitation on markets where
such increased yields can be sold. The result is that there are farming communities all over the world
who could be made much less economically vulnerable if there were a way to generate significant
supplemental income from non crop land usage which did not rely on physical distribution. The

Australian Aborigines Essay
Australian Aborigines
Australian Aborigines are thought to have the longest continuous cultural history in the world. Yet,
within a hundred years, the near extinction of the Aboriginal culture almost occurred. This single
event, the invasion of the Australian continent by European settlers, changed the lifestyle, the culture,
and the fate of Australian Aborigines. Their entire lives were essentially taken away and they were
forced into a white, European world where the lifestyle change could not have been any different.
Aborigines in Australia today are struggling to deal with a past in which they lost touch with their
culture and now are trying to regain some of that cultural identity.

Australian Aborigines believe that to destroy or damage a sacred site threatens not only the present
inhabitants but also the spiritual inhabitants of the land. Broome described that Each tribe believed
that its boundaries were fixed and validated by the stories about the movements of their ancestors, and
therefore there was no reason to desire or try to possess the country of another group: it would have
seemed meaningless to them since their creation stories only related to their own piece of territory
(14). Australian Aborigines traveled around a land that was a symbolic and religious world. There
were not simply rocks, trees, and watering holes but they were objects and places that the great
ancestors had created and places where they still lived. The Aboriginal culture stressed continuity over
change.
The question of intertribal trading and communication occurring between Aboriginal groups is one
that is not agreed upon by investigators of the culture. Broome described in his book, Aboriginal
Australians, some trading between groups but did not place an emphasis on it. In fact, Broome seemed
to describe a slow response to European presence because of the lack of sufficient communication
between groups (36). However, Reynolds in The Other Side of the

The Kongolese And Christianity In Kongo
For centuries, Africans and their belief systems have been derided. Instead of being studied as valid
and meaningful responses to the universal terms of human existence, African religions have often been
considered exotic objects... peculiar and incomprehensible or repellent. For many Europeans,
Christianity was by far the superior religion, and they strove to convert Africans. One kingdom where
they seemed to enjoy success was Kongo. By 1704, the people living there had been Catholic for six
generations nearly two centuries. The Kongolese took great pride in this, believing that it made them
superior to their neighbours. Moreover, both the Kongolese and the Church took pride in the fact that
Christianity had come to Kongo not through conquest and forced conversion, but through the
voluntary conversion of João I. Despite this achievement, though, the Church more the Kongolese had
to practice Catholicism exactly as the Europeans did. With the coming of Dona Beatriz Kimpa Vita,
who claimed to be possessed by Saint Anthony, this conflict would become more apparent than ever
before. Though the Capuchins succeeded in having Dona Beatriz burnt at the stake, they failed in their
ultimate goal of fully converting the Kongolese to their form of Catholicism.
The knowledge of Catholicism displayed by the Kongolese was impressive. Though many Europeans
wondered about their penchant for such things as sacred stones and ancestors graves... they never

Discovering the metaphorical pot of gold at the end of the rainbow was a long and arduous journey for

Causes Of Internet Addiction
Shyness or Social Anxiety
People who are very shy and find it difficult to interact with others may develop an Internet addiction
because meeting people online seems less intimidating than face to face communication. The desire
for human connection is extremely powerful, even among people suffering from social anxiety.
Visiting forums and chat rooms gives them a way to develop relationships without directly facing their
fears and insecurity of being judged. They can carefully control how they are perceived by others
when they communicate online, even going so far as to create an alternate personality that is not
entirely based in reality.

Some who are addicted to online relationships may even create pretend personalities or personas of
themselves. This is actually a dangerous practice because often the people who create these fake lives
are already low on self esteem or desperately seeking the approval of others. Instead of seeking real
help, say from a counselor, these individuals just pretend to be someone else online, while changing
nothing about their real offline lives. This can lead to increased symptoms of depression and feelings
of inadequacy.
Escape Mechanism
A person s thinking patterns and emotions play influential roles in driving addiction behaviors. This is
especially the case with an impulse control disorder like internet addiction. When it comes to causes
of internet addiction, thoughts and emotions rank at the top of the list. How a person channels difficult
emotions has a lot to do whether internet addiction becomes a problem issue.
As an escape mechanism, someone suffering from a depression or anxiety disorder can easily get lost
in a faceless online world. When that same someone experiences feelings of euphoria and relief while
online, the seeds for addiction are there. Causes of internet addiction can also stem from relationship
conflicts as the Internet becomes a way to escape from difficult situations. As with all addictions,
causes of internet addiction have a lot to do with a person s ability to cope with life s challenges.

The Health Care Delivery System
The health care delivery system can be overwhelming, but compare it to another country, this can
make it more confusing. Let s look further into Americas health care delivery system and let take a
look into the health care delivery system of Canada. I have always found Canada fascinating. I hope to
understand how they run their health care and maybe what can we do to our health care to improve it?
Canada s health care system, is a group of socialized health insurance plans that provides coverage to
Canadian citizens. It also publicly funds and administers on a provincial or territorial basis, with
guidelines set by the federal government. Canada implemented their health insurance, also known as
Medicare, in 1966. Medicare is made up of 13 health insurance plans. The majority of the financing
comes from the general tax revenues and the federal government provides a fixed amount that is not a
part of the actual expenditure. The total health care expenditure is made up of 70% health in the public
sector. Territorial and provincial departments of health have the responsibility to give medical
insurance plans, decide if there should be reimbursement for providers, and deliver certain public
health services. By law, all provinces are required to provide access to all medical services and to
provide an easy way to access benefits in each providence. All Canadian providences, expect Ontario,
have resorted to regionalization. This is done by creating administrative districts in

In 1974 Jack began his work on his idea drawing inspiration from a book called Tom Swift and his
Electric Rifle. He first created a device that look like a flashlight. The device used gunpowder to fire
two prongs attached to wire up to 15 feet. Once the prongs made contact the device pulsed 50,000
volts into the target causing uncontrollable muscle spasms and effectively immobilizing the target
without killing. He came up with the name TSR, an acronym for the book in which he got his ideas
from, for his invention. Later he would add an a , making it the well known name today TASER, to the
name because he grew tired of saying the letters when talking about his invention.
After filing for a patent on his device Jack tried to start selling his new invention. However, the United
States government quickly classified his invention as a firearm because of the use of gunpowder. This
classification severely hindered his sales but he managed to sell to the Los Angeles Police
Department. When efforts to use the device to subdue Rodney King in 1991 failed Patrick Smith
teamed up with Jack to help improve the device. One of the major improvements was replacing the
gunpowder used to propel the prongs with compressed air. Without gunpowder in the device the

However, soon after I started my research, I saw how this, given enough time, could revolutionize the
way we drive, and dramatically reduce the amount of money spent on roads. Plastic roads would be a
practically maintenance free product. It can withstand temperatures up to 212° Fahrenheit (100°
Celsius) and as low as 40° Fahrenheit ( 40° Celsius). Plastic is known to take long lengths of time to
decompose. Depending on the type of plastic it could take anywhere from 10, to 100 years for even a
miniscule amount of plastic to decompose. Not only does this make maintenance less frequent, but it
also could increase the average lifespan of roads up to 3 times. There are also things caused by asphalt
that will affect us long term. The production of asphalt releases 1.6 million tons of carbon into the air
every year. In order to take that amount of carbon out of the air, it would take 1,311,475 acres of

Ncidentaloma Research Paper
ncidentaloma is a tumor that does not show any symptoms until it is discovered by some types of
examinations that were not previously planed. Adrenal cortex, a part of the adrenal gland, is where
most of the adrenal tumors develop. Adrenal cortex tumors can have either benign or cancerous
properties.
Usually patients accidentally come across diagnostics of the disease. For example, a change in female
hormone levels can be a good indicator for whether a person has an adrenal tumor. One would
investigate whether an incidentaloma was influencing adrenal cortical hormone levels by performing
numerous tests and diagnostics. The first step is the collection of urine or blood samples to be tested

Different tests are usually performed to quantify the levels of cortisol, such as treating patients with
dexamethasone. Dexamethasone acts like cortisol for the patient s body. Upon delivery to a patient
who does not have adrenal tumor, the production of the cortisol will decrease. On the other hand if a
patient has an adrenal tumor, then hormone levels will stay high even after receiving dexamethasone.
Another test that one can perform to measure the effect of an adrenal tumor is performing an ACTH
test, which measures the level of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) in the blood. ACTH is a
hormone that is produced from the pituitary gland in the brain. Thus by performing the test one can
get information about its concentration in the serum. Usually if adrenal mass is influencing the
corticosteroid levels the test will show a higher level of cortisol while giving a lower level of ACTH
levels.
Another diagnostic method to diagnose adrenal tumors is cortisol saliva testing. In this test, the
amount of cortisol in the saliva at or near midnight is normally very low. Multiple repeats of the test to
confirm elevated cortisol levels can diagnose Cushing s syndrome. Cushing s syndrome is excess
cortisol levels, possibly due to the body secreting too much

Advertisement Advertisements For Women s Advertising
KEEP IT REAL JUST FOR ONCE
Nowadays, companies spend billions of dollars in search of customers for the companies products. As
a result, the necessity of target advertising can t be underestimated. After all, women had no reason to
purchase a $50000 necklace until Pandora proposed the tagline, your jewelry isn t just jewelry, in its
latest advertisement in Cosmopolitan Magazine (Pandora. Cosmopolitan). In that regard, modern
advertisements paint a stereotypical image of an ideal woman as the classy being, appareled in
artificial, perhaps fake, beauty. If it s not the glossy pink or red lips, then it ll either be the artificial eye

While advertisements attempt to convince us that all women are supposed to look pretty, be looked at

Stock:
Stocks are the smallest part of ownership of a corporation. It represents partial ownership. For
example you have a shop worth of Tk.10000. Now if you divide the ownership of the shop in 100
parts then every part will be worth of 100tk. Now each of the part is called a share/stock. Now if you
buy 10 Part/share, from that 100 part then you are partially an owner of the shop/firm/company.

More Open Space By Jane Jacobs Summary
Jane Jacobs begins with an in depth explanation about neighborhood parks or park like open spaces in
her chapter, The uses of neighborhood parks . Essentially, city parks are based on their usage. Jacobs
explains that parks are volatile places and tend to run on extremes of popularity and unpopularity. The
self evident virtue, More Open Space, is talked about throughout the chapter. Most city planners think
it is good, but in reality, it is only good if it exists in a combination of its uses. If a park is used all day,
not on weekends or breaks, the park itself becomes a character of an enjoyable neighborhood. Jacobs
explains that it is important to understand general principles about park behavior that is applied to all
parks. She uses examples of the Penn s four squares to prove her ... Show more content on

There are so many city parks that have been ruined by vandalism and other negative affects on them.
Coming from personal experience of being a full time nanny in the summer, I acknowledge her
explanation of good city parks. I would drive an extra 15 minutes to take the children to a different
park daily even though they had one, minutes away from their home. It would take them away from
watching TV and enjoying the simplicity of nature and socialize. What attracts me to successful parks
are fountains, flowers, shade, safety, views and most important, the location of them. There are so
many beautiful parks in my area but a few were ruined based on the simple fact of bums taking them
over. In Poland, where I go almost every summer to visit my family, more parks filled with bums than
there are for enjoyment. The homeless saw these parks as a home and benches as beds. Jacobs clarifies
that the worst problem parks are located precisely where people do not pass by and likely never

Environmental Impact
Environmental Impact Analysis Anthony Anderson 3/1/2012 Sanchez and Hudson opened small
pediatric office in Riverside, California is an example of having a dream come true without planning
for the future. The building has become too large for the staffing that the Two Doctors /entruenpuers
have been in for five years, Records are being lost, and waiting rooms packed medical records systems
are overloaded with the possibility of patient s records getting lost. Long lines cause patients to get in
patients and staff to get stressed from their inability to serve their customers. The Two business men

Leaders must communicate the need for change widely and how that change will help everyone.
Leaders need to be proactive and talk to and listen to what the employees have to say, this will help
them feel involved and important doing the process. Researching how the Economic, Political, Techno
logical, legal and Social/Culture, Demographic trends impacts their continued growth in the
community. The economic trends if expanding the company is feasible at this time, financial concerns
of the clients have a direct effect on the progress of the company. Such as what kind of disposable
income are available, interest rates, inflation and the unemployment rates? All this reflect on the
manner of how the company will received payment for services rendered. If unemployment is too high
some previous clients will not be able to afford services, , but if inflation and interest rates drop there
would be more money for surgery and other projects that could be done around the building. The
political trends could involve official s policies and the wants and needs of their constituents
throughout the community. For instance if Hudson and Sanchez where to offered abortions and it wasn
t an excepted norm in that neighborhood it could cause a political hot spot with people for and against
their expansion. At the same time if they offered a service the community badly needed like, free
health screenings, of

The European Union As A European Community
The European Union formed in 1956, firstly as a European Community until further expansion. The
Union was not the first attempt at European cooperation, but it has been the boldest in conception, the
most developed and the most successful, (Watts). With the first countries to join such as Belgium,
France, Germany, Italy and Holland, then many other countries joining for years after. It was formed
in search of mutual benefit between the European countries after the impact that World War II took on
Europe, and it created a huge benefit for Europe and its citizens, allowing travel to citizens freely
within Europe, but in recent years we have seen a surplus of people wanting to come to Europe.
While, the European Union has been a strong advantage for Europe, the open borders have become
out of control and the future does not look as promising.
With European countries allowing an open border, meaning anyone within Europe could travel and
live wherever they pleased was great for the people of Europe, but this now has made complications.
Since 2011, an estimated 200,000 Syrians have died from the conflict within their borders, and close
to half of the country s residents have been uprooted. Roughly 3.5 m illion people are categorized as
internally displaced, while 3 million have fled the country, (Hussein). While not all 3 million have
been fleeing to Europe, they actually started to escape to their neighboring countries such as Lebanon,
Turkey and Jordan but with

Beauty Of A Girl With Doves
Beauty Among Death in Gravestone of a Girl with Doves The High Classical Greek Period is
considered to be the Golden Age in Greek Art according to Art Historians (Pearson). This period from
450 400 BCE held a lot of destruction because of the wars going between the Athens and Sparta,
known as the Peloponnesian War, however, there was also a lot of beauty during this period because
sculptures and architects made art that depicted victory over wars won, such as the Parthenon. Despite
all the madness happening during this high classical period, a peaceful piece of art was born.
Gravestone of a Girl with Doves is a Greek marble sculpture that was found on the island of Paros and
dates back to 450 440 B.C. Although it has typical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since this sculpture is a gravestone, I felt that the sculptor made this gravestone with a gradient effect
with the low/high reliefs in order to signify that the young girl was fading away into death. A peplos,
which is a typical garment seen on specifically women in Greek art, hangs over her shoulders and
seems to create a dragging down feeling to the sculpture since peplos is heavy fabric. The peplos also
accentuates her body without actually revealing much of anything, which was appropriate considering
the time period, the age of the girl depicted, and the purpose that the sculpture served as, which is as a
gravestone. There is no movement whatsoever, but there does seem to be a subtle vertical line running
through the young girl s contropossto stature.
An expression is worth a thousand words. The young girl depicted shows no emotion, which is a
typical characteristic in the classical greek style. It looks as though the girl depicted has her mind
somewhere else, which actually creates a sense of peacefulness since her expression is not one of pain
or discomfort . Unlike most Greek sculptures that are massive in size, this sculpture is smaller because
it depicts the death of a small child. According to the description besides this sculpture, the doves that
the girl is holding represent her innocence of childhood. They can also represent the kind of person

Plasmid Advantages And Disadvantages
Plasmids are small, circular, DNA molecules within a cell. They are not connected to the
chromosomal DNA of the cell, which means that they are essentially free floating in the cytoplasm.
They contain only a few genes and their own origin of replication a stretch of DNA that ensures that
the plasmid is replicated by its host. A plasmid is an interesting part of the cell as it only contains DNA
that codes for a specific function that is not necessary for the day to day survival of a cell, but only
during certain particularly stressful times, but during the remaining times they still manage to not be
discarded by their host cell. Plasmids can be found in unicellular organisms. They are most commonly
located in bacteria, however they can also be observed in algae and yeast. The plasmid contains a few
genes that code for specific functions. For example a plasmid can contain genes that, when expressed,
can let the host utilize a specific nutrient for metabolism of unusual substances, including the ability to
metabolize a toxic substance, or give them resistance to heavy metals. The plasmid essentially
contains genes that can ensure the survival of an organism under specifically difficult conditions. One
of the more interesting traits however, is antibiotic resistance, which is most ... Show more content on

It is a couple of genes that code for a toxin and the antidote to that toxin. The toxin is a stable, long
lived one while the antidote is unstable and disappears fast. This ensures that daughter cells that haven
t inherited the plasmid, but only the toxin and antidote, will die as they have no way to produce the
antidote that has disappeared. Daughter cells that do, however, have the plasmid continue to survive
with a steady supply of antidote. One example is the F plasmid in Escherichia coli that encodes for the
toxin CccdB and the antidote CccdA. (Engelberg Kulka Glaser,

(1) The adenotonsillar hyperplasia is the most common cause of respiratory obstruction in children and unchains obstructive sleep disorders that include a variable group of abnormalities such as snoring and sleep obstructive apnea syndrome. Moreover, these children may present with a high incidence of recurrent infections of the upper airways with the frequent use of antibiotics. (2) It is the main cause of sleep disorders in children, and responsible for 75% of cases of sleep apnea. (3) In children, enlarged adenoids and tonsils play a major role in obstructive sleep apnoea. A history of obstruction (snoring, apnoea), sleep disruption (restless sleep, arousals, daytime symptoms) and suggestive physical findings are indications for adenotonsillectomy in most affected children (Ray and Bower 2005). • 3. The Conflict Between Judaism And The Hellenistic And Roman... As dissimilar as they were, the encounter between Judaism and the Hellenistic and Roman worlds with the latter taking on much of what the Greeks stood for should not be considered as a clash between civilizations. Doing so, I believe, would render a complex society and a dynamic process into an absolute and a static one. The postexilic period had obviously brought Jews into contact and in activity with the surrounding non Jewish communities in which they now lived; however, this social and commercial interaction with the non Jews was enhanced, like never before, with the emergence of the Greco Roman eras. The Jews often managed to retain control over their own internal affairs and found favor before various rulers, but pagan ritual, idolatry, and Greco Roman philosophies became almost impossible to avoid. These new realities posed a serious challenge to Judaism and Alexander the Great s idea of uniting the world by pushing for a common language and culture, Homonoia, only served to accelerate and intensify this challenge. Yet, the very nature of this Hellenic culture would, itself, allow the Judean society to establish various paths of accommodation to the conquerors. Thus, in reality, Hellenism was but a framework that enabled Judaism to flourish within a new setting without compromising its indigenous and unique character. The translation of the Scriptures into Greek, precisely because the Hellenized Jews were unable to read it in Hebrew, is an example of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

About 10% of its population were either conscripted or worked for the military during World War II.[11] The economic effect of conscription was serious because it meant a great reduction in the number of taxpayers whilst an increase in government spending to train, maintain and pay military. An Analysis Of Mary Shelley s Frankenstein Koziol 9 Creating Life To say that fiction or fantasy relies solely on the imagination, would lessen the importance that the personal lives of many fantasy writers plays on the conception of a story. For Mary Shelley, her life was the basis and inspiration, maybe subconsciously, of her very first, and arguably most famous novel, Frankenstein. Through the influences of people and events, Mary Shelley was able to write about friendship and alienation in Frankenstein. The creation of life is at the center of the novel, and the creation of Mary s life plays a big part in who she was from birth until her death. • 7. Ancient China s Multipolar System Systems are comprised of different actors (states or governments), which interact in a way that can be characterized as a whole. Certain actors in these systems can develop economically and militarily. The actors may be categorized under multipolar, bipolar or unipolar systems. Multipolarity presents itself as multiple countries, typically 3 or more, which have comparable amount of military and economic power. Bipolarity occurs when two countries have equal economic and military capabilities. Unipolarity exists when one powerful entity dominates the rest. The stability of these systems may depend on the category of polarity. A system is considered stable when no more than 10% of a state s power is reduced after a war. Looking at Chinese/Greek ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These states formed the multipolar system as they exercised control over activities and negotiations of the surrounding weaker units. Then, Athenians established and ruled over the Delian League, alliances made up of independent and tributary city states. Many of these city states voluntarily accepted the effective Athenian laws, courts and currency. In turn, Athens provided their allies with protection against Persia and pirates. Athens also facilitated trade connections between its allies and the non Hellenic people. Amidst the success of Athens, serious disputes over the fear Athenian imperialism and expansion rose. For that reason, the Spartans led the competitors and established a rival organization, the Peloponnesian League. By 431 B.C., the Greek city state system shifted from being multipolar to bipolar. Athens led one bloc and had the support of its voluntary and tributary allies. On the other hand, Sparta led the other bloc with the members of the Peloponnesian League. The bipolar characteristic of the Greek city states was stable. First of all, no wars were fought (no state lost power at all) in order to create the Delian League or Peloponnesian League. This literature review discusses about the different parameters which are used in implementing a successful Six Sigma methodology. Kamran Moosaa* and Ali Sajidb (2010) made a study on critical analysis of Six Sigma implementation. Six Sigma is known as a method, metric or a programme. It follows a DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improvement, and Control) process. The other articles state that how teamwork and process management are beneficial for Six Sigma implementation in an organization. Hence, this literature review evaluates that Six Sigma is better in pursuing continuous improvement in customer satisfaction, increasing profits, and in overall business strategy when compared to other Total Quality Management tools. Comparison between Six Sigma and Total Quality Management tools Have really Six Sigma took a place over other Total Quality Management tools in continuous improvement of all processes in an organizations? Six Sigma has become a popular methodology ever since it was first introduced by Motorola in the US during the 1980s (Kamran Moosaa* and Ali Sajidb, 2010). It started gaining popularity once case studies from companies like Motorola, GE, and Allied Signals started spreading across the globe. • 11. Essay On Diabetes There is a direct association between hyperglycemia and physiological and behavioral responses. During hyperglycemia, the brain recognizes it and sends a message through nerve impulses to pancreas and other organs to decrease its effect (Baynes, 2015). The autoimmune destruction of pancreatic β cells, leads to a deficiency of insulin secretion which results in the metabolic derangements associated with T1DM. Normally, hyperglycemia leads to reduced glucagon secretion; however, in patients with T1DM, glucagon secretion is not suppressed by hyperglycemia (Holt, 2004). The resultant inappropriately elevated glucagon levels exacerbate the metabolic defects due to insulin deficiency. In type 2 diabetes these mechanisms break down, with the ... This type1 diabetes is a relatively homogeneous disease in which the insulin secretion of beta cells in the pancreas starts to decline and eventually ceases totally. 3.4.2. Type 2 diabetes: Type 2 diabetes is characterized by insulin resistance and/or abnormal insulin secretion (Alberti, 1998). About 90% of all diabetes cases account for type2 (Zimmet, 2001). The inability of the pancreas to produce insulin or production of insufficient insulin, or the insulin itself is inactive in the case of type2 diabetes (Naemiratch, 2007). In the case of type 2 diabetes, the blood sugar is controlled either through diet, with oral hypoglycemic drugs or in extreme cases with exogenous insulin (Inzicchi, 2002; Gannon, 2006). Individuals with type 2 diabetes mostly exhibit intra abdominal (visceral) obesity. The presence of hypertension and dyslipidemia (high triglyceride and low HDL cholesterol levels; postprandial hyperlipidemia) are also observed in these individuals. Type2 diabetes is the most common form and is highly associated with a family history of diabetes, older age, obesity and lack of exercise. This type of diabetes is more common in women, especially women with a history of gestational diabetes, and in Blacks, Hispanics and Native Americans (Baynes, 2015). 3.4.3. Thesis statement There are many advantages to participation in community gardening because gardening reduces air pollution and heat islands, helps in crime prevention, and most significant of all can affect one s health. Literature Review Kathleen Wolf and Alicia Robbins presented different benefits in the article Metro Nature, Environmental Health and Economic Value in an effort to present the economic values associated with exposure to nature outline many of the positive advantages associated with ones exposure to different elements of nature, such as urban greenspaces. The woman of The Yellow Wallpaper is trapped by her own family s idea of how she should conduct herself, because her mood and habit of writing are not normal to them. Her father probably had good intentions when he caused his daughter to be poisonous. He did it as a means of protection, but this backfired, because the tendency of others to misunderstand Beatrice s complex makeup led them to unintentionally kill her. Each of the three men in Rappaccinni s Daughter wanted to mold Beatrice into something and each had his own idea of her identity, yet none of them looked at her subjectively. This is pointed out by Luedtke on page 188. When he (Giovanni) was unable to bring Beatrice rigidly and systematically within the realm of his own experience, and unwilling to risk a closer knowledge, Giovanni left the poison damsel to die in her own pleasure place. It is interesting to note Luedtke s use of the words pleasure place . This suggests that the poisonous garden was not the real problem or prison for Beatrice. An interesting point is revealed by Luedtke as he states, The author makes a late attempt to intertwine her poison and her purity, but the demonic and the angelic continue to occupy their separate spheres, the former of the body, the latter of the soul. As Baglioni s antidote takes effect, eradicating the poison from Beatrice s system, her physical life is consumed. The soul might be innocent but it has no resting place. Since he had never seen anything like this before, he asked his charioteer what these things were. He responded to the Prince that these things were natural and unavoidable, and happened to everyone. Once again Siddhartha asked his charioteer to take him out into the city; this time he was to see the last of four images that would change his life forever. The last sight he saw was a wandering old holy man with no possessions. His head was completely shaved and he was wearing a yellow robe. Having seen all these things, Buddha not only became aware of the pain and suffering of humankind, but was also prompted to do something about it. He left his family in search of the answers to his questions (Buddhism). Siddhathra traveled throughout the northeastern portion of India, seeking out holy men and teachers who taught him ancient Indian techniques of meditation. Even though meditation was important to him, his main quest was to find the answer to the problem of suffering. He wanted to know why they were suffering and how it could stop. So Siddhartha studied the teachings of Hinduism. He was very fascinated by the belief of reincarnation or Samsara. There have been different researchers and various types of research that has been done over the years to try and uncover the mystery that what happens in the first few years of your life will determine what happens in the later stages on childhood and going into adult hood. Research into the subject of insecure attachment sparked an interest in the world of psychology in 1948 with the research John Bowlby did on maternal attachment. In addition, although that the majority went to prove what he was testing it is not 100% true as there was 14% who were not separated and still went on to commit crime, this leads to other theory s getting created. Another psychologist who has had major input in the subject of attachment is Spitz and Wolf (1946). Spitz and Wolf (1946) studied 91 orphanage infants in USA and Canada (3) , what they found amazed the world of attachment. They found that despite getting better care and maintaining adequate health many had died before their first birthday. This and Bowlby s research lends a hand in understanding attachment and both complement each other in facts. Seen as Bowlby was researching about the critical stage in development the research that Spitz and Wolf did also proves that. Essay about The Turks and Mongols In order to discuss the movements of Asiatic peoples into Europe from the first inroad of the Huns to the conquests of the Osmanli Turks in the sixteenth century, it will be necessary to review briefly the events in central and eastern Asia which preceded and precipitated these incursions. From the time that the Irano Aryan ancestors had arrived in Russian Turkestan in anticipation of their descent into the hills of northwestern India, much of this grassy plain had been the home of those Iranians who remained behind while their kinsmen climbed the mountains which would take them into India and the Irano Afghan plateau. When we view the Hunnish inroad into Europe in the light of the total context of Old World history, it ceases to be a strange inruption of hideous and invincible barbarians darting out of nowhere, as it at first appeared to the Byzantines and Romans. The Huns were a people who had been exposed to a high civilization that of China; they were cultured if illiterate, and in every sense the match of the frightened adversaries whom they met in Europe. When we examine the details of these invasions, we see that it was not one simple inroad, but a series of them in which a perplexing confusion of names is involved. Chief of the newcomers, after the Huns, were the Avars, who arrived in the sixth century. The Huns considered these their kinsmen and equals, and later amalgamated with them after the Avars had, in the eighth century, been defeated by Charlemagne and had retreated, some to Hungary and others to the Don country. From the fall of the Huns until the rise of the Mongols some thousand years later, the history of central Asia is simply a repetition of the same theme; some obscure sub tribe would become important, win leadership over the others, and head new invasions of increasing complexity. The history of southern Russia became extremely complicated, for the steppes of the Don country served as a terminal point for all but the most serious of these movements. COTAP counteracts your carbon emissions through certified forestry projects in least developed regions which create transparent, accountable, and life changing earnings for rural farming communities where income levels are less than $2 per day. The Problem In developing regions around the world, hundreds of millions of people live in rural areas on less than $2 per day. This level of poverty forces communities to make hard choices between food, health care, and education. It is the poverty level where an estimated 11 million children die every year. Many of these communities are not fits for traditional microfinance, which tends to be primarily urban, and significant portions of their land are not suitable for agriculture. While there are many promising technical innovations and development programs which can increase crop yields, there remains a geographic limitation on markets where such increased yields can be sold. The result is that there are farming communities all over the world who could be made much less economically vulnerable if there were a way to generate significant supplemental income from non crop land usage which did not rely on physical distribution. Australian Aborigines traveled around a land that was a symbolic and religious world. There were not simply rocks, trees, and watering holes but they were objects and places that the great ancestors had created and places where they still lived. The Aboriginal culture stressed continuity over change. The question of intertribal trading and communication occurring between Aboriginal groups is one that is not agreed upon by investigators of the culture. As careful analysis of three ads targeting at women in Advertisement Cosmopolitan 2015 indicate, advertisements , in attempt to catch patrons , have besmirched the ideologies about women s prototype by stereotypically exaggerating the relevance of physical beauty in them. Moreover, such unfair portrayer is proven, on several bases, to be detrimental in the long run. One of the most common unfair messages conveyed in women oriented ads is that the physical appearance of women is all that matters. This proposes that without applying makeups, dying ... Essentially, city parks are based on their usage. Jacobs explains that parks are volatile places and tend to run on extremes of popularity and unpopularity. The self evident virtue, More Open Space, is talked about throughout the chapter. Most city planners think it is good, but in reality, it is only good if it exists in a combination of its uses. If a park is used all day, not on weekends or breaks, the park itself becomes a character of an enjoyable neighborhood. Jacobs explains that it is important to understand general principles about park behavior that is applied to all parks. She uses examples of the Penn s four squares to prove her ... Coming from personal experience of being a full time nanny in the summer, I acknowledge her explanation of good city parks. I would drive an extra 15 minutes to take the children to a different park daily even though they had one, minutes away from their home. It would take them away from watching TV and enjoying the simplicity of nature and socialize. What attracts me to successful parks are fountains, flowers, shade, safety, views and most important, the location of them. There are so many beautiful parks in my area but a few were ruined based on the simple fact of bums taking them over. In Poland, where I go almost every summer to visit my family, more parks filled with bums than there are for enjoyment. The homeless saw these parks as a home and benches as beds. Jacobs clarifies that the worst problem parks are located precisely where people do not pass by and likely never ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Leaders must communicate the need for change widely and how that change will help everyone. Leaders need to be proactive and talk to and listen to what the employees have to say, this will help them feel involved and important doing the process. Researching how the Economic, Political, Techno logical, legal and Social/Culture, Demographic trends impacts their continued growth in the community. The economic trends if expanding the company is feasible at this time, financial concerns of the clients have a direct effect on the progress of the company. Such as what kind of disposable income are available, interest rates, inflation and the unemployment rates? All this reflect on the manner of how the company will received payment for services rendered. If unemployment is too high some previous clients will not be able to afford services, , but if inflation and interest rates drop there would be more money for surgery and other projects that could be done around the building. The political trends could involve official s policies and the wants and needs of their constituents throughout the community. • 48. The European Union As A European Community The European Union formed in 1956, firstly as a European Community until further expansion. The Union was not the first attempt at European cooperation, but it has been the boldest in conception, the most developed and the most successful, (Watts). With the first countries to join such as Belgium, France, Germany, Italy and Holland, then many other countries joining for years after. It was formed in search of mutual benefit between the European countries after the impact that World War II took on Europe, and it created a huge benefit for Europe and its citizens, allowing travel to citizens freely within Europe, but in recent years we have seen a surplus of people wanting to come to Europe. While, the European Union has been a strong advantage for Europe, the open borders have become out of control and the future does not look as promising. With European countries allowing an open border, meaning anyone within Europe could travel and live wherever they pleased was great for the people of Europe, but this now has made complications. Since 2011, an estimated 200,000 Syrians have died from the conflict within their borders, and close to half of the country s residents have been uprooted. Roughly 3.5 m illion people are categorized as internally displaced, while 3 million have fled the country, (Hussein). While not all 3 million have been fleeing to Europe, they actually started to escape to their neighboring countries such as Lebanon, Turkey and Jordan but with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. Beauty Of A Girl With Doves Beauty Among Death in Gravestone of a Girl with Doves The High Classical Greek Period is considered to be the Golden Age in Greek Art according to Art Historians (Pearson). This period from 450 400 BCE held a lot of destruction because of the wars going between the Athens and Sparta, known as the Peloponnesian War, however, there was also a lot of beauty during this period because sculptures and architects made art that depicted victory over wars won, such as the Parthenon. Despite all the madness happening during this high classical period, a peaceful piece of art was born. Gravestone of a Girl with Doves is a Greek marble sculpture that was found on the island of Paros and dates back to 450 440 B.C. Although it has typical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since this sculpture is a gravestone, I felt that the sculptor made this gravestone with a gradient effect with the low/high reliefs in order to signify that the young girl was fading away into death. A peplos, which is a typical garment seen on specifically women in Greek art, hangs over her shoulders and seems to create a dragging down feeling to the sculpture since peplos is heavy fabric. The peplos also accentuates her body without actually revealing much of anything, which was appropriate considering the time period, the age of the girl depicted, and the purpose that the sculpture served as, which is as a gravestone. There is no movement whatsoever, but there does seem to be a subtle vertical line running through the young girl s contropossto stature. An expression is worth a thousand words. The young girl depicted shows no emotion, which is a typical characteristic in the classical greek style. It looks as though the girl depicted has her mind somewhere else, which actually creates a sense of peacefulness since her expression is not one of pain or discomfort . Unlike most Greek sculptures that are massive in size, this sculpture is smaller because it depicts the death of a small child. According to the description besides this sculpture, the doves that the girl is holding represent her innocence of childhood. They can also represent the kind of person she ... • 50. Plasmid Advantages And Disadvantages Plasmids are small, circular, DNA molecules within a cell. They are not connected to the chromosomal DNA of the cell, which means that they are essentially free floating in the cytoplasm. They contain only a few genes and their own origin of replication a stretch of DNA that ensures that the plasmid is replicated by its host. A plasmid is an interesting part of the cell as it only contains DNA that codes for a specific function that is not necessary for the day to day survival of a cell, but only during certain particularly stressful times, but during the remaining times they still manage to not be discarded by their host cell. Plasmids can be found in unicellular organisms. They are most commonly located in bacteria, however they can also be observed in algae and yeast. The plasmid contains a few genes that code for specific functions. For example a plasmid can contain genes that, when expressed, can let the host utilize a specific nutrient for metabolism of unusual substances, including the ability to metabolize a toxic substance, or give them resistance to heavy metals. The plasmid essentially contains genes that can ensure the survival of an organism under specifically difficult conditions. One of the more interesting traits however, is antibiotic resistance, which is most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is a couple of genes that code for a toxin and the antidote to that toxin. The toxin is a stable, long lived one while the antidote is unstable and disappears fast. This ensures that daughter cells that haven t inherited the plasmid, but only the toxin and antidote, will die as they have no way to produce the antidote that has disappeared. Daughter cells that do, however, have the plasmid continue to survive with a steady supply of antidote. One example is the F plasmid in Escherichia coli that encodes for the toxin CccdB and the antidote CccdA. (Engelberg Kulka Glaser, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
