The Transition Between The Iron Age And The Persian Period
Periodization is the division of the past into segments based on major changes.[ ] The way
archaeologists and historians have organized these segments have changed over the years and continue
to change by definition and time frame as new findings are discovered. Through the exploration of
periodization and through a closer look at the transition between the Iron Age and the Persian Period
one can see its usefulness, the issues that arise, and what led to the division of the two periods.
The development of periodization started with charts from Christian Thomsen in 1836. His system
was comprised of a three stage system starting with the Stone Age, followed by the Bronze Age, and
finishing with the Iron Age. Although popular in Europe, it was never influential in the Near East until
later. Instead, scholars would use politico historical terms that were handed down by ancient authors
such as names of kingdoms and dynasties.[ ] The lack of common terms brought confusion so in 1922
schools in Jerusalem came together and set the common terms that are known today. They used the
three stage system to represent macro periods and then broke each age up into the subdivisions ...

As we explore periodization, we can see what led to the division of the Late Iron Age and the Persian
Period. The Late Iron Age is characterized by the re urbanization and re establishment of higher
cultures, which included more evident writing and trade. Towards the end of the age we see the
creation of the Hebrew Bible, the royal courts breeding regionalism as well as the emergence of an
elite social class. This is seen through the assembly of rich pottery and writing style from
archaeological digs at royal cities. We also begin to see the beginning of dominant powers, as seen
with Assyria. Here we see major changes in politico historical and religio ethnic facts that will cause
the shift that brings us into the Persian

Future Technological Impacts and Influences on News...
Future Technological Impacts and Influences on News Reporting and Presentation
Forms of technology have always had a significant influence on the way news is both reported and
presented; there is no reason to suppose this situation will change as new technologies develop and
mature in the future.
Examples from the past are legion, but a couple of particularly striking ones may serve to illustrate the
extreme impact changes in technology have upon what we regard as news .
The development of the printing press (in Europe in the mid Fifteenth Century) allowed for the first
time the widespread and low cost dissemination of written material. Reading was no longer the sole
preserve of educated elite; the ramifications of that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Perhaps the images are a closer reflection of ourselves than are words on a page.
One further example of the past impact of technological change on news reporting and presentation,
likewise, is still very much present (or perhaps, dominant) today: live television broadcast from the
scene of news events. Developed from the 1960 s onwards, due to a number of converging
technologies, for example, smaller cameras, satellite communications, portable power, it is now a
given that any significant news event will have instantaneous live television coverage. Indeed, entire
networks (CNN, Sky News, BBC World) now exist based upon this foundation of live news.
But is this unending live news good news? Former political correspondent of The New York Times,
and editor for New York magazine and Esquire, Richard Reeves, believes ...today s high tech fusion of
cable television, electronic information services and pop culture, has removed the filtering process of
reporting, editing and writing that separates journalism from the raw act of communication. (as cited
in Martin, 1997). And Bob Jobbins, chairman of the UK s Rory Peck Trust (a journalist s charity) says:
The power of technology can lead to the homogenisation of content and originality is the hardest thing
to protect... (as cited on BBC News Web page, 2002).
Given these quite fundamental examples of how new developments in technology have

Inuit People Research Paper
Soapstone is a soft material that is easy to be carved. However the stone breaks very easily due to this
soft nature, This week we are learning how to carve soapstone pendants and jewelry, and we have
already discovered several problems in the carving process. Thus it is so fascinating to see what the
Inuit culture has done with this type of stone.
The Inuit peoples often use this as a sort of way to connect with their past and keep it in their future.
The art often connects to the stories and culture of the Inuit people, such as carvings of spirit birds and
other such items. However in the beginning (the article I found says pre 1830s) these carvings were
toys. That s right, childrens toys for amusement and fun. This changed in the 1830s,

History Of The Berlin Wall
The Cold War by nature divided Europe in two camps capitalist West, and communist East. This
slowed down the political, economic and social integration drastically. As Winston Churchill put it, an
iron Curtain had descended across Europe. Consequently, Europe was more divided than any other
time in history. Germany was divided into east and west. Berlin itself was also divided into similar
territories which caused a huge economic, political and social strain on its people. The construction of
the Berlin wall was one of the pivotal moments of the Cold War as it served as a physical illustration
of the iron Curtain . Today however, Germany has become the economic hotspot of the EU so
evidently the Cold War only hindered/delayed the inevitable

Essay on Why Girls Become Strippers
Why Girls Become Strippers
For years men and women alike have wondered the same question, that is, Why do girls become
strippers? Well, there are three main reasons. The first reason being the opportunity for monetary gain
to better their future. In Ganttageep s article, Exotic Dancing: Illusion and Fantasy, An Exotic Dancers
Path to Power , he shows this desire for money in this following quote, When asked why they got into
the world of exotic dancing many women state that money is the main reason, (Ganttageep.) In
addition, there own personal desires play a huge role in their life changing decision. Finally, previous
experiences in life and their skills and attributes greatly affect girls in their decision to become
strippers. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

told me that above all else the decision was money driven, Mostly financial reasons.... I needed the
money at the time, (See Appendix I.) She also told me that she didn t like to strip, I hate it, but I don t
really have a choice, (See Appendix I.), and only did it as a temporary means of quick money. Then
Tiffany proceeded to tell me in our interview that many girls who are strippers are people who have
become addicted to the money, You get addicted to the money, (
I believed that she was quite a valid source of information because she has worked at around five to
six strip clubs, varying from holes in the ground to upscale gentlemen s clubs. She seemed like a great
person. She was nothing like what the media and society portray strippers to be, which is a dirty
women with loose or no morals or self respect. In the news article published by BBC News the
following was said, Morals are loose as it is and frankly I just want to enjoy a drink without looking at
another one of England s problems dancing in my face, (BBC News.) This quote shows peoples
negative views on the topic of stripping. If you saw her on the streets you would never guess what she
did for a profession. From what I have found, especially in the older generations, a majority of society
have never been to a strip club, they just look down upon this industry as one that is dirty and a

How Did Brunelleschi Influence Italian Architecture
Italian architecture has influenced many other architects, architecture and the world. Italian
architecture became famous during the Renaissance. Many churches, palaces, and public buildings
were built in this time. Some of these buildings were built by famous architects like Brunelleschi,
Borromini, and Palladio. Italian architecture is all over the world. The Italian architects that had the
greatest influence on world architecture are Brunelleschi, Borromini, and Palladio.
Filippo Brunelleschi was born in Florence, Italy, in 1377. He is known as the creator of the
Renaissance architectural style. Brunelleschi made new things from classical Roman, Tuscan, and
Italian late Gothic models with some Byzantine influences. His first building was finished in the 1420
s. It was the San Lorenzo. This building shows classical and Tuscan influences. Brunelleschi also
made plans for the basilica of San Lorenzo and a chapel next to Santa Croce. But what made
Brunelleschi famous was his work on the cathedral of Florence. He mad a dome that measured 130
feet in diameter, something that many other architects said was not possible to do. This dome was a
model for Michelangelo s dome for St. Peter s in Rome. Brunelleschi died in Florence in 1446 and he

Analysis Of My Daughter By Judith Sutpen
Miss Rosa describes her niece, Judith Sutpen, as a woman more strange to me than to any grief for
being so less its partner (120). Judith is a woman well acquainted with suffering, losing first her
mother, then her fiancƩ at the hand of her brother, and finally her father. She watches her family s
wealth disintegrate as a result of the heavy toll exacted by the Civil War, and eventually becomes
accustomed to tending her own garden, spinning her own thread, and weaving her own cloth as the
poor would do (125), since the Reconstruction Era showed no discrimination in turning both wealthy
and impoverished Southerners into the poor. Once her childhood has come to a close and the era of
desolation has set in, during which she is forced to cope with hardship after hardship, Faulkner begins
to consistently portray her as wearing a worn, discolored homemade dress of calico or gingham (plain
woven cotton fabrics). In one sense this represents the poverty that is laying waste to the South and the
Sutpen family, but on a deeper level the dress comes to symbolize the deprivation and sorrow which
Judith has endured, and specifically her inability or perhaps refusal to emote in response to these
tragedies. The first time the dress appears to the reader is during Miss Rosa s description of her first
encounter with Judith after Charles Bon s death: I ran, fled, up the stairs and found no grieving
widowed bride but Judith standing before the closed door to that chamber, in the

Kangxi And Peter The Great Similarities
Comparing and Contrasting Two Monarchs
In the late 17th century to the early 18th century, two powerful monarchs who ruled over their own
magnificent empires. These monarchs were Peter the Great, the tsar of Russia, and the emperor of
China, Kangxi. At the time of their rules, an economic system called mercantilism formed. This
system allowed societies to benefit off of influx of goods from merchants trading. Using this system,
in China, the Canton system was formed to open up ports to western societies. Even though, both
Kangxi and Peter the Great shared similarities in the way they ruled, they had a variety of differences,
which were caused by their background and their country s interests. On the other hand, the diverse
backgrounds and experiences of the empires caused them to also have differences in their ways of
ruling. These differences could be categorized into two overarching topics, economy and education.
Their economies had varied taxation systems and were structured differently. As far as education, the
rulers differed in the ways they spread knowledge and the type of knowledge they taught. Comparing
these two rulers can produce some similarities shown in the economic systems backed by the time
period in which they ruled. For instance, in Russia, Peter the Great relied on the economic system of
mercantilism to spur economic growth within his empire. He achieved this by increasing exports like
silk. (Massie, 938) Similarly, Kangxi created the Canton system which

Reynolds Cycle Technology, a manufacturing company based in Birmingham, England. It is
composed of several elements solely including iron, carbon, chrome and molybdenum but also
includes silicon, copper and manganese. The Steel s physical properties include a stiffness level
similar to mild steel. With the addition of chrome and molybdenum the steel can be strong enough to
butt or be thinned down in the middle, thus making the material lighter. It has an excellent strength to
weight ratio obtained from heat treatment used in its formation. The heat treatment used for this steel
does not use quenching rather uses air cooling or air ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is half as stiff as most steels though is half as dense making it 20% lighter than steel. For stiff
titanium frames it is required to have a larger diameter, than comparable steels, though not as large as
aluminum. The frame is also very corrosive resistant. With the addition of silicon the alloy can obtain
significant grain refinement and it can be said that titanium alloys have a perfect balance of properties
for frame building. Welding must be done carefully to avoid contamination and machining must be
done precisely. Titanium is very reactive to atmospheric gases and can result in degradation in the
material. Titanium is weldable in annealing conditions but provide limited weld ductility and heat
affected zone ductility. It can also be significantly strengthened by cold working. Due to titanium
being rather expensive it is rarely used for cycles. It is expensive not only because of the material
costs, but also because of the care and time that must be put into the welding process. 7005 Aluminum
Like the Reynolds X100, 7005 Aluminum is an aluminum alloy but consisting of Zinc and
Magnesium. Due to its cost and inconvenience of heat treating, 7005 aluminum has gained
considerable popularity with smaller companies. 7005 Aluminum has similar properties to the
Reynolds X100. It is seen as the second most common material and is most likely to overtake steel as
most popular material used for frame design. It is 12% stiffer and 20% lighter than steel

Repercussion Among Adolescents Research Paper
Do a lot of adolescents believe there are no repercussion to their actions of being careless? Let s be
honest most people may think that teenagers are irresponsible, ill mannered, and negligent, but most
teens think they are not irresponsible and careless, yet they do not listen to their parents, disrespect the
teachers, and do what ever they want. Not thinking of the aftereffect of their actions. Growing up
teenager and parents bump heads frequently; however, they also might try to do other things behind
their parents back. For example Sally mom was heading out, and told Sally to not have anybody in the

Until the teachers are ready to call parents then the adolescent wants to be indecent because they know
the repercussion of their action when they get home. Wondering why they are failing cause they are
being careless and not taking school seriously, but can get serious when the teacher tell them their
grade, yet have an non caring attitude towards the teachers. Never the less , there are a lot of teens that
is just rude because they want everything there way and do not want to listen to nobody else its
everything thing they doing is the right thing. For example a boy named Mark was told to go to the
store for his dad to get certain supplies for the house, so he went, her saw so things he wanted picked
those up along with the others and over spent on his dad card. He got home and his dad was
disappointed in him, but acted like he did not care, his dad told Mark that he can not go to the store for
him again. In conclusion, are adolescents careless? Yes, they are they want the world to hand them
every thing so easily, while neglecting their priorities and thing that there is no consequences for their
negligence and if that is the way they want to go through life thinking that then they might no make it
out here in the real world.

Business Laws And Ethic Hinder Your Company s Economic...
When deciding where in the world it is best to start a potential business or form a mutually beneficial
merger; What factors do you consider? Do you wonder if your own societal rules, customs and values
will clash with those of your new place of business? Would potential countries business laws and ethic
hinder your company s economic growth; or will those laws provide you aid. There are a number of
factors one needs to consider when deciding where to move or start your business, these are but a few.
1. Societal customs and values
China is a diverse country well known for its traditions and work ethic. Their culture focuses on the
wellbeing of the group over that of the individual; as such, they as a culture are very hard working and
will often go above and beyond the call of duty. Heavy emphasis is placed on integrity and formality
particularly those involving socializing. Introductions in china are as integral if not more than in the
united states; careful attention must be placed in how one approaches and introduces themselves lest
they make faux pas. In China rules concerning social etiquette forms not only the basis for propriety,
but also basis for many for their traditions. In a country who believes that all that swims, crawls,
slimes and walks is food; it is not surprising how large a role how food is eaten plays into the culture.

Symbolic Food in Toni Morrison s Beloved
In two passages of Toni Morrison s novel, Beloved, she describes a party at 124. Everyone become so

Suggs thinks it was this overfullness that caused them all to not notice the coming of Schoolteacher

the party what they ate and how it made everyone feel.

Stamp Paid describes the gathering and cooking of the food in anticipation of the party and how the
party was the cause of their fall from grace . He describes the gathering of the berries and the
difficulty in retrieving them. Stamp Paid s description of the ordeal he experiences brings to mind the
snake in the Garden of Eve. His narration of the preparation for the party seems to signify the
beginning of their downfall.
He walked six miles to the riverbank; did a slide run slide down into a ravine made almost
inaccessible by brush. He reached through brambleslined with blood drawing thorns thick as knives
that cut through his shirt sleeves and trousers. All the while suffering mosquitoes, bees, hornets, wasps
and the meanest lady spiders in the state. Scratched, raked and bitten, he maneuvered through and took
hold of each berry with fingertips so gentle not a single one was bruised. (136) and They open to the
sun, but not the birds, cause snakes down in there and the birds know it, (156).
The reference to snakes refers back to the snake in the Garden of Eden. Additionally, the reference to
berries seem to make them something holy, an unattainable object that is craved for, Just one of the
berries and you felt anointed (136). Further, the reference to how the adults follow the example of the

When watching the film, Star Wars, it is impossible not to be aware of the technology that is
represented in the film, partly because it is so much more advanced than our own is now, but also
because we can imagine how we might someday acquire such technology. The central theme in Star
Wars is good versus evil, clearly demonstrated by the technology in the film. While the Rebels (the
good guys) use technology primarily to fight for freedom and quality of life for all, the Empire (the
bad guys) use technology to develop weapons of destruction and war in an attempt to rule the galaxy.
In addition to these two opposing sides, there is another group that doesn t use technology for war.

However, even if we don t look into the future, Star Wars can tell us volumes about how technology
can affect our society, especially as it pertains to war.
Through the ages there have been constant struggles to resolve disputes. However, as we can see
through our history, sometimes peaceful resolutions are not possible because of misunderstandings,
corruption, power, or greed. In these cases, one alternative to settling the dispute is war. Technology
plays an extremely important role in war, and this is clearly demonstrated in Star Wars. Star Wars
possesses similarities to our own culture and with the vast amounts of technology represented in the
film, it is an ideal choice to better understand our own society.
We are delighted to have the opportunity to examine Star Wars because we feel intimately connected
to the film and all that it represents. We grew up with R2D2, C3PO, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia,
Han Solo, and Chewbacca. We dressed up like them for Halloween, we played Star Wars games for
countless hours, we imagined ourselves using their futuristic technology, and now we want to study
how this artifact has affected our society and how it might affect our future.
Research Question:
In the movie, Star Wars, how is technology represented differently in its ability to help humankind
and/or destroy it?

Application Of A Software Development Model
Introducing RSDM into an organization 1.0 Introduction The value of software in meeting the
expected objectives depends on how it is designed. A good software design in an enterprise should be
based on quality. Designing and implementing the software system with the potential customers in
mind is one way of ensuring quality in this case. The Robust software Development Model (RSDM)
can be used for the purpose of defining trustworthy software as repetitive stages in the development
process. The Robust development Model works by recognizing the infrastructure, the financial
position, the customer needs as well as the leadership system of support of an enterprise that are

of design for trust software are comparatively simple but at the same time are not simple to

The World Of The Third World
The Third World as a political project emerged out of Cold War rhetoric. It referred to a group of non
aligned countries that claimed to operate separately from the influences of the great powers. The
movement represented the emergence of the Third World as a self conscious political grouping.
Solidarity was predicated upon common economic structures that were distinctive from both the
Eastern block planned economies and the Western free market system (Smith, n.d: 17). The Third
World as a political project was intrinsically linked to decolonization. Developing nations were
encouraged to stand against Western intervention and involvement in the economic affairs of the Third
World (Smith, n.d: 17). In addition, the project aimed to establish a new international economic order
in which developing countries would have greater control over their own natural resources (Smith,
n.d: 18). It also called for more cooperation in the third world in order to lessen their dependence on
leading institutional forums. As one of the most influential proponents of the Third World Project,
Jawaharlal Nehru specifically worked to promote ideas of global interconnectedness, world peace and
non alignment. Yet despite efforts to uplift the Third World from its peripheral status, evidence of
Western superiority discourse was still present in the language used by Nehru and other elites.
Furthermore, while elites championed Third World principles in word, they generally remained tied to

Wonder Sociological Concepts
Wonder One of my favorite movies is Wonder by R.J. Palacio. Wonder is based off of the inspiration
to never judge anyone by their appearance, to stand up for yourself and to not give into bullying. The
main character, Auggie Pullman, is a smart 10 year old boy with a facial deformity, who experiences
the first time going to a public school. The first important value in Wonder is to never judge anyone by
their appearance. Auggie s schedule in the past 10 years, consisted of being homeschooled by his
mom, Isabel. Auggie conquered the survival of a car accident, which made Auggie encounter
numerous surgeries to correct his face. His surgeries concluded the way he looked. His left eye tugs

Bullying often leaves kids feeling helpless, vulnerable, and confused. Consequently, when kids are
bullies they are often shocked by bullying that they are not sure what to do (Gordon, n.d.). Society,
unfortunately, has become more focused on the bullies rather than the victims. Judging someone by
their looks is NOT okay. How can you judge someone when you do not even know the person? It is
from my personal experience, that people are nicer to the rich or middle class whereas others frown
upon poor people. Many people make the generalization that poor people take advantage of the state
benefits that are offered, which is not true. Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart.
There is not a single profile of a young person involved in bullying. Youth who bully can be either will
connected socially and may be bullied by others as well. Similarly, those who are bullied sometimes
bully others. Solutions to bullying are not simple. Bullying Prevention approaches that show the most

Facebook s Privacy Policy At Facebook
The first portion of my paper, identified concluded with the following after close examination of
Facebook s privacy policy. After close consideration, I have come to the conclusion that there is no
real protection of one s information when using their services. Everything posted is essentially
property of Facebook, and in return for your posts, you get to use their services. Even though they
claim you own the information, they profit off your information. It seems that Facebooks only
interests are that of its own. Unless the information is beneficial to that of their services, whatever it is
that you post, and can be harmful to the services of Facebook is then shifted back to your
responsibility. It is an extremely subtle and coercive way to influence people to use their service, yet
when the implications fall onto them, it is now your information; it is no longer theirs when subjected
to scrutiny. Personally, I believe Facebook should simply minimize the words that they use for their
policy, and tell users exactly as following: You do not have any privacy rights when you use our
services. You have given us all right to your information. We now own your information, and have the
rights to profit from your information, even though technically it is your information, and, unless or
until it your information becomes under scrutiny to any legal proceedings, or authoritative source we
will give you back all rights to your information we are then no longer responsible .

Amy Tan s Joy Luck Club Essay
Throughout The Joy Luck Club Amy Tan inserts various conflicts betweens mothers and daughters.
Most of these relationships, already very fragile, become distanced through heritage, history and
expectations. These differences cause reoccurring clashes between two specific mother daughter
bonds. The first relationship exists between Waverly Jong and her mother, Lindo. Lindo tries to instill
Chinese qualities in her daughter while Waverly refuses to recognize her heritage and concentrates on
American culture. The second bond is that of Jing Mei Woo and her mother, Suyuan. In the beginning
of the book Jing Mei speaks of confusion in her recently deceased mother s actions. The language and

Why do you have to use me to show off? (101). Waverly s bitterness increases the separation between
mother and child. Jing Mei doesn t believe her mother because her stories always change but she
doesn t understand as Suyuan does that the details are unimportant. What s important in Chinese
storytelling is the message. I never thought my mother s Kweilin story was anything but a Chinese
fairy tale. The endings always changed. Sometimes she said she used that worthless thousand yuan not
to buy a half cup of rice (12). Another contributor to the conflicts in these relationships is history. Both
Lindo and Suyuan had remarkably different childhoods without most the opportunities their daughters
have. The circumstances in which they grew up were much different yea their children have a difficult
time understanding that. My mother believed you could be anything you wanted to be in America. You
could open a restaurant. You could would for the government and get good retirement. You could buy
a house with almost no money down. You could become rich. You could become instantly famous.

Analysis Of Kingdom Of Heaven
Regardless of how one feels about Kingdom of Heaven in terms of its quality, the film undoubtedly
takes a unique approach in its portrayal of the crusades. Although some critics have bemoaned the film
for its historical inaccuracies and the way in which it presents Islam, such detractors are excessively
dogmatic in their baseless scrutiny. In addition to their assessment of Kingdom of Heaven being
unfounded, they fail to understand one of the broader notions expressed, which is the view that
morality is not black and white: individuals are capable of doing both good and evil. This key theme
shown throughout the movie is especially compelling since it not only applies to the Crusades but also
to the modern world.
Throughout the movie, the director, Ridley Scott, emphasizes the complex moral landscape of the
Crusades to enhance the quality of the story. As best put by Peter Stanford in his review, Kingdom of
Heaven is, however, no run of the mill variation on the popular theme of the historical thriller...
Instead, Scott has directed a complex modern morality play (Stanford, Screen god ). One way he blurs
the moral lines is the way in which he presents the force invading Jerusalem. Scott could have taken
the easy route and made the Muslim invaders the stereotypical evil villains of the film. Instead, he
presents the audience with a more nuanced view; even though the Muslim leader, Saladin, does try to
violently conquer the city of Jerusalem, he is also merciful. He sends

Sigmund Freud s Theory Of Development
Emily Bradshaw
Professor David Iannaccone
Introduction to Psychology
December 4th, 2014
Abstract
In this research paper, I explained what Sigmund Freud s psychosexual theory of development is and
why it is important for the developing child to overcome said conflicts. I also talked about the
different effects of not overcoming the conflicts Freud had determined that would lead to adult
behaviors.
Over the years, Sigmund Freud has created many theories involving many different ideas in the
psychological world. One theory that stood out to me throughout our journey in introduction to
psychology is Freud s developmental theory. Freud s development theory is the influence that sexual
growth has on personality development from birth to adult life, with the phases of sexual maturation
designated as oral, anal, phallic, latency, and genital. (psychosexual development. (n.d.). The
American HeritageĀ® Stedman s Medical Dictionary. ) This theory stood out to me the most because I
feel that Freud has a very unique idea of how we, as humans, develop and how almost every stage
refers to a different growth, yet all involve sexual ideas. Sigmund Freud was said to believe that once
a child reached adulthood at eighteen years of age that they were fully grown. Many psychologists
have went against this theory however to discover that humans do not stop growing at eighteen. All
the stages of psychosexual development have a conflict in which has to be resolved or the child will
have

Brand Loyalty Case Study
4. Brand Loyalty: Aaker (1996) defined brand loyalty as the attachment of a customer to a brand.
According to the attitudinal perspective, brand loyalty is defined as a deeply held commitment to re
buy a preferred product or service consistently in the future despite situational influences and
marketing efforts having potential to cause switching behavior (Oliver, 1997).From the behavioral
perspective Odin, Odin and Valette Florence (2001) suggested that the customer who buys the brand
systematically is considered loyal to this brand. Authors may differ in defining the brand loyalty but
they all agree on the importance of focusing on loyal customers and trying to increase their number
and their loyalty. Managers know that loyal customers do buy more with willingness to spend more,
are easier to reach and act as an advocate for the brands firms (Chaudhuri and Holbrook, 2001; Odin,
et al., 2001; Oliver, 1997).

Over the years, banks have housed several of their branches in large buildings, sharing their space
with other occupants. Although security is a key factor in consideration of the location of a bank,
smart individuals use this positioning to their advantage. Access is gained by cutting a hole in the
floor, and theft occurs. With the passing years, security in banks has been evident with the reliance of
CCTV cameras. This ensures monitoring of the users activities in banks by security officers who take

This made the people hesitate to invest any significant amount of money at the time. The idea slowly

security of their firms using different methods. The security system of some banks requires highly
trained, capable individuals who can protect progression of activities in their allocated areas, be it
inside the bank, at ATM portals and in monitoring CCTV cameras.
Use of laser beams that generate intense beams of coherent monochromatic light through simulated
emission of photons has been used as a security measure. They are used either as sensors to trigger
alarms or as penetrative destructive beams in highly confiscated areas, which allow limited or no
access at all. Online banking security measures are kept to plan by the banks allowing software
developers to create antivirus software and sell the software to them. Users are required to download
this antivirus for themselves without necessarily consulting the bank s security operators. Recent
trends have shown the use of biometric analysis in the form of hand writing recognition, hand finger,
and geometry (Taylor, 2013).

Proposal Essay On Pollution
Proposal Essay Suneet Mahajan
Western Governors University
WGU Student ID #000704510
Pollution refers to impurity into the environment of particles which has harmful effect on health.
There are many forms of pollution, like air pollution, water pollution, noise pollution which impact
health and environment. High air pollution level is responsible for health issues in Delhi. Over the last
few years, the level of pollution has changed significantly in India and specifically in Delhi.Due to
increased traffic on roads, traffic movement is slow which forces vehicles to move in lower speed
which reduces efficiency and emission level increases. Another cause of vehicular pollution is increase
in number of diesel vehicles, which is also a major contributor to ai r pollution. According to
Department of Transport of Delhi, there are more than 7.6 million vehicles on National Capital region
and which grows at a target rate of 14% per annum. Due to air pollution people are suffering from
Lung and heart disease. In addition to 7.6 million registered vehicles of Delhi and equal number of
vehicles enter Delhi everyday which add to air pollution. In order to control Vehicular pollution, we
have to adopt and implement stringent steps to reduce the vehicular pollution. The feasible solutions
to control pollution is to reduce the number of vehicles on roads by introducing concept of odd/even
rule for playing the vehicles, ban on registration of diesel cars which is major source of vehicular
pollution, introduction of CNG (Combined National GAS) for taxis coming in delhi these steps will
reduce vehicular pollution and help people to breath clean air.
In order to reduce the congestion of road, the proposal is to apply odd/even rule for playing the
vehicles wherein vehicles with odd number registration plates will run on odd dates and vehicles with
even number registration plates will run on Even dates. This will be applicable between 8 AM to 8 PM
and will result into challan but no compounding of Vehicles. This rule will be applicable to all the
government Vehicles and vehicles coming out of Delhi. There will be exemption for CNG Cars, cars
driven by women with kids, President of India Vehicles, Prime minister and

Analysis Of I Have Killed The Deer
Tradition is a part of something as big as a cultural identity, or as small as a family obligation.
Traditions are not loved nor understood immediately, however with time the importance of tradition
becomes evident as it makes people unique and united. As a kid, serving meals every thanksgiving
may feel insignificant and tedious, but as an adolescent the small amount of time spent as a family
doing something annually has a lasting impact on one s values. Frank Waters fictional novel, The Man
Who Killed the Deer, Martiniano struggles to find a faith after he illegally kills a deer. Neither the
whites not the Indians seem welcoming because he offends both by breaking the law and not showing
respect to Indian ideology. The deer continues to haunt him until he understands the role of nature and
the cycle of life. The poem I Have Killed the Deer , written by a Taos Pueblo Indian, emphasizes the
importance of equality and the mystical connection with nature. Both works highlight the unique
Indian perspective of nature and its contribution their identity. Both Martiniano and the Taos Pueblo
Indian use nature to provide life; Martiniano s self centered view on the old Indian traditions prevent
him from finding peace in a faith, while the Taos Pueblo Indian fully appreciates and understands his
role in nature.
While both Martiniano and the Taos Pueblo Indian use death to provide themselves with life, the two
show a different level of respect to the role of nature. After Martiniano

Death Penalty Should Be Legal
Do you think that death penalty will give justice for the innocent lives? The death penalty continues to
be an issue of controversy in the whole world because people have different beliefs for giving justice
to the innocents. For some people, they want it legal because death penalty will give justice for the
innocent victims and a form of vengeance to the criminals. On the flipside, other people don t agree
with it because a lot of innocents are putting into death. These people believe that it is better to put the
criminal into jail without a parole unless there is a proof that he or she is innocent instead of removing
the human rights of the criminal to live and have a chance to change his or her life. Although some
people think that death penalty should be legal, I believe it should not be legal. Some people believed
that killing the murderers would keep more innocent victims safe and alive. For instance, the case of
Tim Mcveigh who was executed by killing the 168 people in the Oklahoma City bombing, or John
Wayne Gacy who was committed 33 murders. If they were still alive, we wouldn t know what would
happen next. They might kill more people. However, we are still killing more people and innocent
lives. In fact, the authors of the Rate of False Conviction of Criminal Defendants Who are Sentenced

Positive Psychology And Chronic Illness
Positive Psychology and Chronic Illness A chronic illness is a long lasting condition that can be
controlled but not cured. It is the leading cause of death and disability in the United States, accounting
for 70% of all deaths in the U.S., which is around 1.7 million each year. With statistics like that, being
diagnosed with a chronic illness could obviously have severely negative effects to a person s body.
Not only is a chronic illness physically stressful, it also has the ability to affect a person s mental state.
Some commonly known chronic illnesses are diabetes, epilepsy, and glaucoma. The World Health
Organization states that chronic illness hurts the quality of life of individuals and that the number of
people suffering from is increasing. In the short term a chronic illness can decrease a person s level of
independence and levels of interaction, leading to isolation and a decrease in the amount of daily
activities a person can engage in. Long term, it can lead to loss of motivation, fatigue, depression,
anxiety, and posttraumatic stress. Additionally, studies have shown that in some cases, when patients
are experiencing severe depression or hopelessness, the patient may stop taking the medicine they are
prescribed to treat the illness. There are a variety of steps that can be taken in order to alleviate these
negative psychological effects, including therapy and medication. Another approach is positive
psychology.

The Between Mind And Body
There is no real answer for the question about if mind and body are the same or different, a person is
made of mind and body and the both have different characteristics. Rene Descartes asked the question
what am I. he gives and answer to the question by saying he is a thinking thig, if the body and mind
are different from one other, mind can also continue with no body because it is not import for what he
is. Moreover body is breakable and extender and mind is not breakable and non extended, that is a
reason they are different in nature.
Rene Descartes settled the metaphysical differences between the body and mind, but he also have to
think about the relationship between mind and body. Mind and body are two different substances with
many properties. Moreover the mind and body communicate, its and everyday experience, the actions
that we do every day is from our thoughts. The relationship between the body and mind is much more
close and special, it cannot be regenerated with any other physical substances. When anywhere in the
body is wounded we feel pain and tries to not get injured again. Desires and thoughts have a
connection with how the body behaves but the mind is able to take control of the body
Descartes assumes that if it is possible to conceive of one thing without the other, then those two
things are not identical. The self is not a body, it s not a physical thing without a body. He also argues

Pedal Research Paper
The pedal is a body part located at the distal end of your legs. It s primary usage is for standing and
balance while moving. The pedal has the ability to remold itself to a person s walking gait. This means
that the structure of everybody s pedal in the world is a little different. Your pedal is what allows you
to stand, and keep your balance when walking and running. The leg connects to the pedal to form the
joint referred to as the ankle. The ankle is a joining between the two lower leg bones, the tibia and
fibula, and the talus bone of the pedal. This joining at the ankle joint is what allows you to move your
feet superiorly and inferiorly. The movement in one plane means that it is a hinge joint. The
movement of your feet laterally and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This could be catastrophic to your walking gait, as high heels reshape your feet to counteract the slope
heels put your pedal on. High heels shift your center of balance forward. This means less weight is
going to be put on the heel of your pedal, and more weight is going to be put on the ball and on the
phalanges of your pedal. Your tarsal bones will shift and your arch will change. Consistently wearing
high heels can also affect the structure of your legs and lower back. The shift of your weight to the tip
of your pedal means that your center of balance shifts forward as well. This leads to numerous
problems throughout the inferior portion of the body. A study conducted by Neil Cronin from Griffith
University found that women who consistently walk in high heals rely on their muscles, not their
tendons, to walk. This finding, coupled with the fact that optimal muscle tendon efficiency occurs
when the muscle stays approximately the same length while the tendon lengthens , shows that heels
create a less effective walking gait that requires you to expend more energy. High heels put your feet
in a constant plantar flexion which means that the Achilles Tendon is always contracted. So, when you
do take off your high heels your calf will burn, your knees will ache. This is because the Achilles
Tendon is attached to the calf muscle, which in turn connects to the

Intervention Programs ( Anjour )
Intervention Programs (Anjour)
Early alert intervention programs can be beneficial to colleges to assist them with identifying students
who are at risk of not being academically successful (Tampke, 2012 2013; Bryan Simmons, 2009).
Equally important, students entering college for the first time encounter significant changes from
those encountered in high school as the academic demands are usually more rigorous. In addition,
some freshman students struggle with academic success, which impacts persistence; therefore, early
intervention programs should be considered. According to Vanthournout, Coertjens, Donche, and Van
Petegem (2012), student academic persistence is an expected outcome of early intervention programs.
Learning Methods Course. Tuckman and Kennedy (2011) compared a group of 702 freshman college
students at a large mid western university: half of the students took a learning methods course, and
half of the students did not take the course. The purpose of the course was to assist students with
increasing accountability, self esteem, learning modality, readiness skills, and managing their personal
responsibilities. Data from the study concluded that students who completed the methods course had a
higher rate of persistence towards academic achievement, and graduated at a higher rate than the
students who did not take the course. Moreover, the occurrence of graduating was 50% greater for
those students who were experiencing academic difficulty. For this

  • 2. The Transition Between The Iron Age And The Persian Period Periodization is the division of the past into segments based on major changes.[ ] The way archaeologists and historians have organized these segments have changed over the years and continue to change by definition and time frame as new findings are discovered. Through the exploration of periodization and through a closer look at the transition between the Iron Age and the Persian Period one can see its usefulness, the issues that arise, and what led to the division of the two periods. The development of periodization started with charts from Christian Thomsen in 1836. His system was comprised of a three stage system starting with the Stone Age, followed by the Bronze Age, and finishing with the Iron Age. Although popular in Europe, it was never influential in the Near East until later. Instead, scholars would use politico historical terms that were handed down by ancient authors such as names of kingdoms and dynasties.[ ] The lack of common terms brought confusion so in 1922 schools in Jerusalem came together and set the common terms that are known today. They used the three stage system to represent macro periods and then broke each age up into the subdivisions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As we explore periodization, we can see what led to the division of the Late Iron Age and the Persian Period. The Late Iron Age is characterized by the re urbanization and re establishment of higher cultures, which included more evident writing and trade. Towards the end of the age we see the creation of the Hebrew Bible, the royal courts breeding regionalism as well as the emergence of an elite social class. This is seen through the assembly of rich pottery and writing style from archaeological digs at royal cities. We also begin to see the beginning of dominant powers, as seen with Assyria. Future Technological Impacts and Influences on News Reporting and Presentation Forms of technology have always had a significant influence on the way news is both reported and presented; there is no reason to suppose this situation will change as new technologies develop and mature in the future. Examples from the past are legion, but a couple of particularly striking ones may serve to illustrate the extreme impact changes in technology have upon what we regard as news . The development of the printing press (in Europe in the mid Fifteenth Century) allowed for the first time the widespread and low cost dissemination of written material. Perhaps the images are a closer reflection of ourselves than are words on a page. One further example of the past impact of technological change on news reporting and presentation, likewise, is still very much present (or perhaps, dominant) today: live television broadcast from the scene of news events. Developed from the 1960 s onwards, due to a number of converging technologies, for example, smaller cameras, satellite communications, portable power, it is now a given that any significant news event will have instantaneous live television coverage. Indeed, entire networks (CNN, Sky News, BBC World) now exist based upon this foundation of live news. But is this unending live news good news? Former political correspondent of The New York Times, and editor for New York magazine and Esquire, Richard Reeves, believes ...today s high tech fusion of cable television, electronic information services and pop culture, has removed the filtering process of reporting, editing and writing that separates journalism from the raw act of communication. And Bob Jobbins, chairman of the UK s Rory Peck Trust (a journalist s charity) says: The power of technology can lead to the homogenisation of content and originality is the hardest thing to protect... The art often connects to the stories and culture of the Inuit people, such as carvings of spirit birds and other such items. • 13. Analysis Of My Daughter By Judith Sutpen Miss Rosa describes her niece, Judith Sutpen, as a woman more strange to me than to any grief for being so less its partner (120). Judith is a woman well acquainted with suffering, losing first her mother, then her fiancĆ© at the hand of her brother, and finally her father. She watches her family s wealth disintegrate as a result of the heavy toll exacted by the Civil War, and eventually becomes accustomed to tending her own garden, spinning her own thread, and weaving her own cloth as the poor would do (125), since the Reconstruction Era showed no discrimination in turning both wealthy and impoverished Southerners into the poor. Once her childhood has come to a close and the era of desolation has set in, during which she is forced to cope with hardship after hardship, Faulkner begins to consistently portray her as wearing a worn, discolored homemade dress of calico or gingham (plain woven cotton fabrics). In one sense this represents the poverty that is laying waste to the South and the Sutpen family, but on a deeper level the dress comes to symbolize the deprivation and sorrow which Judith has endured, and specifically her inability or perhaps refusal to emote in response to these tragedies. The first time the dress appears to the reader is during Miss Rosa s description of her first encounter with Judith after Charles Bon s death: I ran, fled, up the stairs and found no grieving widowed bride but Judith standing before the closed door to that chamber, in the ... Kangxi And Peter The Great Similarities Comparing and Contrasting Two Monarchs In the late 17th century to the early 18th century, two powerful monarchs who ruled over their own magnificent empires. These monarchs were Peter the Great, the tsar of Russia, and the emperor of China, Kangxi. At the time of their rules, an economic system called mercantilism formed. This system allowed societies to benefit off of influx of goods from merchants trading. Using this system, in China, the Canton system was formed to open up ports to western societies. Even though, both Kangxi and Peter the Great shared similarities in the way they ruled, they had a variety of differences, which were caused by their background and their country s interests. On the other hand, the diverse backgrounds and experiences of the empires caused them to also have differences in their ways of ruling. These differences could be categorized into two overarching topics, economy and education. Their economies had varied taxation systems and were structured differently. As far as education, the rulers differed in the ways they spread knowledge and the type of knowledge they taught. Comparing these two rulers can produce some similarities shown in the economic systems backed by the time period in which they ruled. For instance, in Russia, Peter the Great relied on the economic system of mercantilism to spur economic growth within his empire. He achieved this by increasing exports like silk. For stiff titanium frames it is required to have a larger diameter, than comparable steels, though not as large as aluminum. The frame is also very corrosive resistant. With the addition of silicon the alloy can obtain significant grain refinement and it can be said that titanium alloys have a perfect balance of properties for frame building. Welding must be done carefully to avoid contamination and machining must be done precisely. Titanium is very reactive to atmospheric gases and can result in degradation in the material. Titanium is weldable in annealing conditions but provide limited weld ductility and heat affected zone ductility. It can also be significantly strengthened by cold working. Through the ages there have been constant struggles to resolve disputes. In these cases, one alternative to settling the dispute is war. Technology plays an extremely important role in war, and this is clearly demonstrated in Star Wars. Star Wars possesses similarities to our own culture and with the vast amounts of technology represented in the film, it is an ideal choice to better understand our own society. We are delighted to have the opportunity to examine Star Wars because we feel intimately connected to the film and all that it represents. We grew up with R2D2, C3PO, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, and Chewbacca. • 25. The World Of The Third World The Third World as a political project emerged out of Cold War rhetoric. It referred to a group of non aligned countries that claimed to operate separately from the influences of the great powers. The movement represented the emergence of the Third World as a self conscious political grouping. Solidarity was predicated upon common economic structures that were distinctive from both the Eastern block planned economies and the Western free market system (Smith, n.d: 17). The Third World as a political project was intrinsically linked to decolonization. Developing nations were encouraged to stand against Western intervention and involvement in the economic affairs of the Third World (Smith, n.d: 17). In addition, the project aimed to establish a new international economic order in which developing countries would have greater control over their own natural resources (Smith, n.d: 18). It also called for more cooperation in the third world in order to lessen their dependence on leading institutional forums. As one of the most influential proponents of the Third World Project, Jawaharlal Nehru specifically worked to promote ideas of global interconnectedness, world peace and non alignment. Yet despite efforts to uplift the Third World from its peripheral status, evidence of Western superiority discourse was still present in the language used by Nehru and other elites. Although some critics have bemoaned the film for its historical inaccuracies and the way in which it presents Islam, such detractors are excessively dogmatic in their baseless scrutiny. In addition to their assessment of Kingdom of Heaven being unfounded, they fail to understand one of the broader notions expressed, which is the view that morality is not black and white: individuals are capable of doing both good and evil. This key theme shown throughout the movie is especially compelling since it not only applies to the Crusades but also to the modern world. Throughout the movie, the director, Ridley Scott, emphasizes the complex moral landscape of the Crusades to enhance the quality of the story. As best put by Peter Stanford in his review, Kingdom of Heaven is, however, no run of the mill variation on the popular theme of the historical thriller... Instead, Scott has directed a complex modern morality play (Stanford, Screen god ). One way he blurs the moral lines is the way in which he presents the force invading Jerusalem. Sigmund Freud s Theory Of Development Emily Bradshaw Professor David Iannaccone Introduction to Psychology December 4th, 2014 Abstract In this research paper, I explained what Sigmund Freud s psychosexual theory of development is and why it is important for the developing child to overcome said conflicts. I also talked about the different effects of not overcoming the conflicts Freud had determined that would lead to adult behaviors. Over the years, Sigmund Freud has created many theories involving many different ideas in the psychological world. One theory that stood out to me throughout our journey in introduction to psychology is Freud s developmental theory. Freud s development theory is the influence that sexual growth has on personality development from birth to adult life, with the phases of sexual maturation designated as oral, anal, phallic, latency, and genital. (psychosexual development. (n.d.). The American HeritageĀ® Stedman s Medical Dictionary. ) This theory stood out to me the most because I feel that Freud has a very unique idea of how we, as humans, develop and how almost every stage refers to a different growth, yet all involve sexual ideas. Sigmund Freud was said to believe that once a child reached adulthood at eighteen years of age that they were fully grown. Many psychologists have went against this theory however to discover that humans do not stop growing at eighteen. All the stages of psychosexual development have a conflict in which has to be resolved or the child will have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are many forms of pollution, like air pollution, water pollution, noise pollution which impact health and environment. High air pollution level is responsible for health issues in Delhi. Over the last few years, the level of pollution has changed significantly in India and specifically in Delhi.Due to increased traffic on roads, traffic movement is slow which forces vehicles to move in lower speed which reduces efficiency and emission level increases. Another cause of vehicular pollution is increase in number of diesel vehicles, which is also a major contributor to ai r pollution. According to Department of Transport of Delhi, there are more than 7.6 million vehicles on National Capital region and which grows at a target rate of 14% per annum. Due to air pollution people are suffering from Lung and heart disease. In addition to 7.6 million registered vehicles of Delhi and equal number of vehicles enter Delhi everyday which add to air pollution. In order to control Vehicular pollution, we have to adopt and implement stringent steps to reduce the vehicular pollution. The feasible solutions to control pollution is to reduce the number of vehicles on roads by introducing concept of odd/even rule for playing the vehicles, ban on registration of diesel cars which is major source of vehicular pollution, introduction of CNG (Combined National GAS) for taxis coming in delhi these steps will reduce vehicular pollution and help people to breath clean air. In order to reduce the congestion of road, the proposal is to apply odd/even rule for playing the vehicles wherein vehicles with odd number registration plates will run on odd dates and vehicles with even number registration plates will run on Even dates. The shift of your weight to the tip of your pedal means that your center of balance shifts forward as well. This leads to numerous problems throughout the inferior portion of the body. A study conducted by Neil Cronin from Griffith University found that women who consistently walk in high heals rely on their muscles, not their tendons, to walk. Data from the study concluded that students who completed the methods course had a higher rate of persistence towards academic achievement, and graduated at a higher rate than the students who did not take the course.
