What is the main thing that students look at before attending a school? Tuition fees. Everyone
have a tendency of looking at the tuition fee and setting there life goal if they should spend that
much just to attend school. On a Tulsa Community College site, the publisher of Cost of
Attendance asserts that TCC offers the cheapest fee s. As the publisher of the site, they state
That the Tuitions fees are $2,800 the Book and Supplies are $1,560 the Rooms are $8,694 the
Boards are $2,367 and Transportation is $1,178 . These are by far the lowest prices to be observed

Accomplish Victory
What is a recession? A recession is declared once the GDP is negative for two consecutive
quarters or more, a few quarters before is actually the start of an economic downturn. GDP is
defined as gross domestic product and that basically means the total value of goods the United
States has produced, for the year. The first few signs of a recessionare negative growth followed by
a miniature positive growth. Because American citizens don t have the money to spend they don t
spend and the consumer spending aspect of the economy takes a drastic downfall. Unemployment
rates also have play in determining a recession (22). Proper money management and finances could
bring an economy out of a recession. There are major flaws in the way... Show more content on

Then depending on the person they could take years to pay off that one bill out of the other 20
that they have. So what I am saying here is that if many people do this then, the economy will
inflate, causing the value of money to go down prices to go up and so on and so forth.
One of the hardest and most difficult economic recessions in history was accomplished using
Keynesian economics by John Fredrick Kennedy. Keynesian economics is a theory of total
spending in the economy (called aggregate demand) and its effects on output and inflation.
Although the term has been used (and abused) to describe many things over the years there is six
principal systems or beliefs that are what a Keynesian believes. (20) A Keynesian believes that
total demand is inclined by a swarm of financial decisions public and private. The public decisions
include, financial and economic policies. Nearly all Keynesians and monetarists believe that both
financial and economic policies affect total demand. Secondly changes in total demand have their
affect on output and on employment not on prices. Keynesians believe that it must get worse for it
to get better. Also they believe that we live in the short run of things not in the long run. Keynes s
famous statement, In the long run, we are all dead. Thirdly Keynesians believe that prices, and more

What Is The Mood Of The Speaker Of Funeral Blues
The Speaker of Funeral Blues The poem creates a sense of a dull tone. It speaks of an individual
who has passed. Readers can understand this poem as a lament. Figurative language, and literary
devices is used to set the poem. The speaker of the poem tells readers through the use of
hyperboles how close he was with his deceased significant other. The narrator wants to let people
know how he is dealing with the deathof a loved one. He creates a persona of a very grief stricken
man dealing with a death. At first, it seemed like the speakeris creating a mocking tone. The first
and second stanzas comes off as mocking the funeral. For example, in the second stanza, Let
aeroplanes circle moaning overhead/ Scribbling on the sky the message. He

The Epidemic Of Polio During The Egyptian Era
From the late Egyptian era to the early 1900 s, humans were perplexed about why people were
suddenly getting paralyzed without warning. It wasn t until research skills and technology
accessibility improved that scientists were able to grasp the idea that it was all caused by the
Poliomyelitis virus. Polio began ravaging through the world in the twentieth century, crippling
children, and, even after the discovery of numerous vaccines, is still relentless enough that it infects
children today. Poliomyelitis, also called infantile paralysis (Swanson 1), is a virus that has been
around for over 3,000 years, but had troubled scientists right up until the early 1900s when they had
the resources to fully research it. This virus is part of the enterovirus division, meaning it attacks
through oral ingestion and gains access to the body along the gastrointestinal tract (the tract that
leads from the mouth to the anus). From the G.I. tract, it then enters the blood, through which it
travels to and attacks the nervous system. Once the virus fully destroys a neuron, the neuron then
cannot regenerate and therefore ends the connection between the other neurons around it. This left
the infected hosts with twisted limbs, extreme muscle pain and spasms, and, in extremely severe
cases, the inability to perform vital life functions. Polio can be classified into three different types,
depending on which part of the nervous system it decides to attack. Spinal Poliomyelitis was the

Anti Semitism In The 1930s
In the 1930s and 1940s Anti Semitism was wide spread in Germany under the Nazi Government.
The treatment of Jews in Germany during this time was extremely brutal and harrowing. The
human rights abuses against Jewish people in Nazi Germany during the world war two periods are
extremely well documented. Anti Semitism ranged from the outlawing of marriage between Jews
and gentiles, the Nazi regime sanctioned destruction of Jewish homes and synagogue and of course
the holocaust. The holocaust is one of the darkest moments in modern history where approximately
six million Jews were killed in extermination camps in Poland which was occupied by Nazi
Germanyat the time. Anti Semitism was deeply engrained in the policies, ideology and dogma of
the Nazi party in Germany during world war two. Anti Semitism was no new phenomena in
Germany during the 1930s and 1940s. Anti Semitism in both a religious and racial sense has

Writing A Book Is Just Too Impossible Because It s Not
Introduction
Has anyone wanted to write a book before, but believed they couldn t? Has anyone here thought
about writing a book at least once in their lives? Does anyone here write currently? Writing isn t as
complex of a process as you might think it is, in fact, I challenge all of you to throw away that
preconceived notion that writing a book is just too impossible because it s not. the question is.
Where do you begin?
Beginning
Step 1
Beginning a book may not sound too complicated to some people and it s not. What is important
is to understand what you should be working on first. Some of you may look at this book in my
hand and say, the title should be worked on first but you d be wrong. In my first delivered speech
that was about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What more do you want to add? Think about the timeline in which your book will take place in.
Step 5
The last step is deciding what person do you prefer your book to be written in. You can always
experiment with persons by trying the beginning of your story in both first, second and third person.
I like the process of pencil and paper as opposed to a machine. I think the writing is better when it s
done in handwriting. Nelson DeMille, Author of action, adventure and suspense novels
Beginning To Write
When starting to write all your ideas onto paper don t over analyze what you re saying since this
is your first draft and you will be writing multiple drafts till you re pleased with one. But when you
re starting to write you need to realize that the beginning few chapters of your book should show
your protagonist in their normal environment whether that be home or at school. This doesn t have
to happen all in one chapter, but if you think of a book as a journey down the character s life you
need to know them in order to have any empathy with them and that includes how they interact with
other people and how they react to their normal environment.
Example
This is an example of what a first page of a book may sound that I thought would be beneficial for
you to hear as it might get you thinking on what you might write about.

Sojourner Truth And Louisa May Alcott
During the eighteenth and nineteenth century, American Literature was considered to be of
insignificant quality compared to that of English Literature, and was rarely recognized in the
literary world. However, this opinion did eventually change because of the success of some very
creative American authors. Sojourner Truth and Louisa May Alcottwere two women who not only
produced unforgettable works of literature and presented powerful speeches, but also had a
monumental impact on American Literature as well as American history. These women represent
the unique American spirit because of their bravery and determination for their voices to be heard
for what they believed in during a time when women were meant to be seen but not heard.
The literary world during this time period was dominated by men, but the world was changing,
and women began to make a name for themselves as creative and legitimate writers. During the
time in history women were also fighting for their rights to be heard and treated equally among
men. Also, the issue of slavery was at its peak as the country became divided behind the issue, and
the prospect of a civil war was becoming more of a reality.
Sojourner Truth was born in Upstate New York in 1797 (Baym 804). She was not born into a life
of privilege or ease. Truth could not read or write, but she became one of the most influential
speakers of the time (Baym 801). She fought for the abolishment of slavery, as well as the rights of
women (Baym 801).

The Role Of Conflict In Claudette Colvin And Diary Of A...
How would someone respond if they were a young girl during the era of segregation, or during
the nazi takeover? Most likely they would be afraid, or worried about their family s safety and
themselves. The two texts Claudette Colvin and Anne Frank the Diary of a Young Girl both bring
out significant conflicts and during certain time periods with certain events. The two texts chosen
with show us how these two young girls handled and responded to the many conflicts going on
around them. People respond to conflict in many ways. Certain circumstances cause people to
respond to conflict in different ways. Time periods, setting, age, all have a strong influence on how
conflict is handledaround the world today and in the past. The best way to handle... Show more

When Claudette was a kid she was in a line at a general store, then a little white boy cut in front
of her. Then some older white kids came in the door and started laughing, Claudette of course
wondered what they were laughing at. They had been pointing at Claudette, then the little white
boy had said, let me see, let me see too . For some reason they wanted to see my hands, I held my
hands up palms out, and he put his hands on my hands. My Mother saw us and saw the other
boy s mom watching. Then my mom came straight cross the room, raised her hand, and gave me
a backhand slap across my face. Dont you know you re not supposed to touch them?! The white
boy s mom nodded at my mom and said, That s right Mary . So Claudette only being four years
old, had learned the hard way not to have any contact with white people. It is hard to imagine all of
the stress and conflict a young girl would have to face during this time period. Segregation, people
discriminated because of their skin color, prosecution for blacks, what a tough time for just a
teenage girl to have to go through. So Claudette had to have responded to this situation and conflict
somehow, but how? Claudette had learned her lesson no doubtedly, but even as she started to grow
up, she still stood close to her family. Having some sense of optimism even though of the
givernment and everythign else going against her during that

John Calvin Contribution
John Calvin was born in Noyon, France in 1509 to Jeanne Le France and GГ©rard Calvin.
His father was the secretary to the Bishop of Noyon, which allowed John the privilege to attend
universities later in life. His mother was known for being a beautiful religious woman, who died
about four years after John was born. He had an older brother named Charles and a younger one
named Antoine. His father, a religious man himself, brought up all three children in the church.
His father decided to remarry after his wife s death and made John live with the Montmors, a
powerful family that lived in their neighborhood. Calvin pursued studying theology, Latin, and
philosophy. He used this knowledge to train to become a priest. In the end, he studied law at the
Universities of Orleans and Bourges to become a lawyer. His career path was altered to pursue
law, because his father was paying for his education. Calvin grew up Roman Catholic, but became a
Protestant around 1534. He escaped to France the same year due to the prosecution of Protestants
who were being persecuted for not following the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
According to the Oxford Dictionary, a protestant is a member or follower of any of the Western
Christian Churches that are separate from the Roman Catholic Church in accordance with the
principles of the Reformation, including the Baptist, Presbyterian, and Lutheran Churches. Calvin s
major contribution to the Protestant Reformation was his writing of The

Cause And Effect Of Tornados
To form a tornado the atmosphere needs to create an instability. The air closest to the ground will
be warm, humid, and have south facing winds. In the upper atmosphere, the air will be cold with
west or southwest facing winds. These two components in the upper and lower atmosphere together
create the atmospheric instability. Another key component to form a tornadois wind shear. Wind
shear is the change in wind speed and direction of wind while the warmer and cooler air are
chasing each other around in the circle, creating the height of the tornado. ( Prepare for a Tornado,
2017) Although tornados have been recorded in every continent except for Antarctica most are
found in central United States better known as tornado alley a stretch of land from the western
part of Texas to North Dakota. On average, there are two thousand tornadoes annually, but two out
of three of those tornadoes happen in the United States. The states with the most tornados on
average are Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Florida. Tornadoes form in the central part of the
United States most commonly because of the reoccurring atmospheric instability from the dry
polar air that meets the warm moist air from the Gulf of Mexico. (Prepare for a Tornado, 2017) A
storm capable of producing a tornado can occur at any time but most often they occur in the spring
and summer, June and May have the highest number of tornados recorded. Tornadoes can happen at
any time of the day but most often occur between the

The Iran Hostage Crisis And America s First Encounter With...
On David Farber s book Taken Hostage, Farber informs us about the Iran Hostage Crisis and
America s First Encounter with Radical Islam. This book tells us how the United States and Iran
got into conflict, leading to the Iranians holding American Embassy members hostage as revenge
for them feeling betrayed by the United States. It also informs us about other events that occurred
in a decade that caused the United States many problems. Farber talked about all the events that
lead to the Iranian Hostage Crisis. November 4, 1979, seizure of the United States embassy in
Tehran and the hostage of four hundred and forty four days following, were the first steps leading
up to the perpetual War on Terror. Farber believes the failure from American policymakers and
more specifically from President Carter, to identify the severity of the crisis made for the prolonged
crisis. The sheer ineptitude of Carter administration was the cost of the US to lose it s way
economically, culturally, politically and even military. Carter struggled to respond to the impulses
of Islamic fundamentalism within the prevailing Cold War paradigm. They saw the real battle as
against secular modernism and they recognized that the US was the major force spreading this
cultural and political belief throughout the world. The media misrepresentations of the struggle and
mass media manipulation of Americans played on the peoples emotions. Although Carter was
popular at the beginning of his presidency, this began

20th Century American Inventors
The beginning of the 20th century was marked by the increase in American inventors and
entrepreneurs of vehicles looking to have their products dominate the world. Famous
manufacturers of this era include Henry Ford (founder of Ford Motor Company), William Boeing
(founder of The Boeing Company), William C. Durant (founder of General Motors), and George
M. Hendee (founder of Indian MotorcycleManufacturing), just to name a few. The designs
produced under the aforementioned manufacturers/inventors would prove to be true innovations,
paving the way for technology for decades to come and providing the basic designs on which
modern vehicles are built on. The same can be said about William S. Harley, the co founder and first
chief engineer of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By 1920, the company was producing almost 30,000 bikes annually and was the world s largest
motorcycle manufacturer, taking the title away from Indian Motorcycle. However, a combination
of a mild economic depression and Henry Ford s Model T began eating away at Harley Davidson s
profits, and the motorcycle company even had to reject a potential business partnership with
Ford Motor Company to protect themselves ( William S. Harley, Arthur ). The partnership
involved manufacturing Harley Davidson bikes with a sidecar to be used to deliver mail, albeit
under the Ford name. Harley Davidson rejected this deal, but later used the idea to sell their own
bikes to the Postal Service (Harley and the Davidsons). In 1914, the U.S Postal Service was
using 4,800 Harley Davidson motorcycles to deliver mail. To save their company, Harley
designed motorcycles to be used by law enforcement across the United States. By the mid 1920s,
roughly 3,000 law enforcement personnel would be riding a Harley Davidson, a testament to
William Harley s engineering genius. In addition, Harley would design bikes with larger engines
and brakes which helped boost sales for a short while before the Great Depression came. To
counter the resulting plummet in sales, Harley gave the bikes a facelift, designing new bikes with
more appealing fuel tanks and adding both stylized eagle designs and the company logo on the
bikes to increase appeal. Around this time, bikes were also designed with different color patterns (

A Report On Uav Traffic Safety
Abstract The purpose of this paper is to review some UAV traffic concerns. UAV traffic is
increasing tremendously over the past decade. There have been a number of mid air collisions
with UAVs crashing into commercial aircraft or into each other. They are big enough to cause
more engine foreign object damage than a bird strike. This is because they are made of stronger
material and plus they have batteries on board that can cause severe damage to aircraft. Air
traffic controllers need to know how many UAVs are operating in their area of responsibility and
know exactly where they are. The FAA has adapted to the some of the new UAV laws, but this
paper will show where they are lacking some rules and regulations involving UAV traffic.
Introduction This paper is going to demonstrate the importance of UAV traffic control. It will
review some previous mid air collisions with both UAVs colliding with each other and with
commercial aircraft. It will include some of the causes like lack of technology to detect UAVs and
other aircraft, air traffic controller centers lacking technology, and the FAA lacking rules and
regulations addressing the UAV population increases. The technology has to communicate back
and forth from the UAV to the operator and back. This can become a problem because of hacking
threats. The main concern of this paper is to propose an efficient and secure air traffic control of
UAVs.
In the article Secure routing in UAV , the three

The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner
Coleridge?s Hidden Journal: ?The Rime of the Ancient Mariner? Samuel Taylor Coleridge?s
?Rime of the Ancient Mariner? is a piece known to many in some vague way or another. An
elderly sailor, a ghostly ship, and the killing of an albatross are all present in many people?s
minds, although they may not entirely know the whole tale. Although well known today, the
most activity ?Rime? has seen was in its beginnings. It has its fair share of praise and criticism,
praise given posthumously and criticism given while Coleridge was alive. Other than criticisms
on the actual text, many people claim that Coleridge borrowed the ideas of others and used them.
One must look past the criticisms and negative reviews on an author?s work in order to truly
understand it. This would aid a reader in realizing ?Rime? is full of religious truths, subtly
illustrating Coleridge?s religious opinions. More than this, ?Rime? is a hidden pathway to
Coleridge?s soul, as it allowed him to relieve grief and pain, illustrate his hopes and dreams, and
express his true feelings about his life and the lives of all. Although Samuel Taylor Coleridge?s
?Rime of the Ancient Mariner? was criticized by many, it was more than a poem stuffed with
borrowed ideas and stitched together with imagination; rather, it was an outlet for Coleridge, a
therapeutical journal which simultaneously brought entertainment to those of his time and
posterity. William Wordsworth

Tell Tale Heart Dark Romanticism Essay
An Evolution of Dark Romanticism The Tell Tale Heart
Dark Romanticism illustrates the subgenre of Romanticism and it often explores man s capacity
for malevolence. Edgar Allen Poe is one the writers of Dark Romanticism and in his story, The Tell
Tale heart , he explores humanity s propensity to commit sin. The story is based on the concept of
sin and apathy, as the narrator tries to convince the reader that he is nervous, not mad. Dark
Romanticism consists in showing man s malevolent nature and engages with the concept of man s
darkness. Therefore, in the The Tell Tale Heart, the narrator s evil actions demonstrate the story s
inclusion in the genre specific of Dark Romanticism.
The narrator s mysterious illness exemplifies the tenets of Dark Romanticism. Supposedly the
narrator is told that he is mad and he refuses to accept this ; therefore, he tells the story on how he ...

Pacem In Terris
Pacem in Terris was read and accepted by readers outside the Catholic Church in a way that no
other encyclical had been. One reason for this was undoubtedly the charisma of John XXIII
himself, who addressed his encyclical not only to bishops, clergy and the faithful, but also to men
of good will. Another was living with the constant threat of the Cold War thinking about where and
when it would next lead.
This document was born in the mind of John XXIII in the fall of 1962 which was during the
Cuban missile crises when he was serving as the back channel between President John F.
Kennedy and the soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev who were urging to end the cold world war.
The main reason of this document was because for Pope, the missile crisis was a very prophetic

The Pope condemned authority from both the political right as well as the political left. The main
motive if Pope to do this was to make the people realize that they were responsible for changing
their societies and reducing the threat of war. Pope was mainly into promoting human rights which
was very much visible into the choice of subtopics which were included in the encyclical.
However, perhaps the most important reason why it was so readily accepted was the power of the

Chrysalids Rebellion Quotes
Chrysalids essay Kaden I think the author added rebellion of culture as a theme because we re so
used to following our ways and not rebelling against culture and it mixes us up from what we re
used too and intrigues us. I think the author hints that rebelling is acceptable in the novel so that
we think about it and decide if it actually is. In the chrysalids rebellion happens because if a
person is being harmed or discriminated in an unfair manner they are allowed to rebel. He thinks
rebellion is ok because maybe a deviation could be helpful, for example David and his friends
could talk without speaking. Also, I think the author argues it is ok to rebel to protect someone else
from harm. Many people in the chrysalids rebel from their culture and society, these are just some
examples of why the author lets rebellion happen.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Gambling In Hockey Essay
The first article I found is about gambling and how problem gambling relates to other health issues.
The first thing that the article lay out the two ways of classifying problem gambling. non mutually

The study compares how fighting, promotions, and performance effected the number of people in

brain injuries. The article states that there are medical professionals on both sides of the issues
and that the debate as to whether hockey fights are the cause of these brain injuries. the reason the
article discuss this issues is that the hockey leagues believe that fighting is one of the key reasons
fan come to the games. the study looks at the amount of fighting by each team as well as those
teams win percentages. They found that fighting dose not influence how many games are won. Due
to this fact, they could isolate the variables to see if fighting truly influenced attendance. The end
results of the study found that the role of fighting on hockey attendance may have been the key
variable (Rodney, 2013). The end results showed that there were other factors such as promotions
which effected attendance more than the amount of fighting in the season. This relates to our

the rules of social conduct, religion, and morality that other children have grown up learning. Even
so, she has difficulty mixing these social customs with her own unique sensibilities. Anne loves

Both men and women were healers. Treatment of sickness was designed to restore the patient
not only biologically but spiritually as well. 8 Iroquois Indians The Iroquois Indians consisted
of six tribes which were under one confederation: The Mohawk Indians, the Seneca, the Oneida,
the Cayuga, the Onondaga, and the Tuscarora. The Iroquois tribes were spread throughout much
of what we now call New York. The Iroquois Indians also believed in spirit beings. They believed
that plagues and diseases were caused by evil spirits; they attempted to cure the sick by holding
a religious festival to ask for the aid of their great spirit to rid their people of the bad spirits. They
also believe that disease can infect a person simply from not fulfilling their dreams or their
desires. They believe that sometimes a person s dreams can reveal what caused the disease,
information which they used to cure the patient. To touch more on the basis of the Iroquois
people s belief in dreams (as this was a large part of their healing practices), they viewed dreams
as experiences of the soul in which we may travel outside the body, across time and space, and
into other dimensions or receive visitations from ancestors or spiritual guides . They also believed
that dreams revealed the wishes of one s soul, which would dig deeper, beyond our own personal

Identify points with largest and smallest residuals: sort residuals list in 1/5 list in 5/l (The last
command is minus 5 / lowercase letter L .) 7. Compute multiple regression equation (vy is
response, vthree, vtwo, and vvthree are explanatory variables): regress vy vone vtwo vthree
Important Notes on the stem command In some versions of Stata, there is a potential glitch with
Stata s stem command for stem and leaf plots. The stem function seems to permanently reorder
the data so that they are sorted according to the variable that the stem and leaf plot was plotted
for. The best way to avoid this problem is to avoid doing any stem and leaf plots (do histograms
instead). However, if you really want to do a stem and leaf plot you should always create a
variable containing the original observation numbers (called index, for example). A command to
do so is: generate index = _n If you do this, then you can re sort the data after the stem and leaf
plot according to the index variable: sort index. Then, the data are back in the original order.
Summary of These and Other Commands Here is a list of the commands demonstrated above and
some other commands that you may find useful (this is by no means an exhaustive list of all Stata
commands): anova| general ANOVA, ANCOVA, or regression| by| repeat operation for categories

In the short story A Pair of Silk Stockings written by Kate Chopin she explores stereotypical
female roles. These include thinking of her family before herself, as well as creating cloths for

Le Morte Darthur, Gandalf And Merlin
In a 1967 essay, J. R. R. Tolkien said he saw Gandalf as an angelic being, given the form of an old
man to limit his powers on earth. He would never say the same of Merlin. While Tolkien drew
much inspiration from Arthurian legend, especially Sir Thomas Malory s Le Morte Darthur,
Gandalf and Merlin are very different characters. Merlinis a man, one whose role in much of
Arthurian legend is as a loyal servant of the Kings of Camelot, willing to do anything to help them.
He also rarely performs serious acts of magic. Gandalf, on the other hand, is a warrior mage, an
immortal being sent to protect the people of Middle Earth. He displays a powerful use of magic as

King Uther, whom Merlin serves, falls in love with Igraine, the wife of a neighboring duke, but
the duke refuses to allow Uther to have her, and Igraine is too loyal a woman to willingly
commit adultery. So, Merlin devises a plan, telling Uther, this night ye shall lie with Igraine . . .
and ye shall be like the duke her husband, Ulfias will be like Sir Brastias . . . and I will be like Sir
Jordanus (Le Morte, 5). Merlin had disguised the men so well that they took on the appearance
of other people, enough that Igraine believed Uthor was her husband. Merlin s greatest feats
usually involve shapeshifting and disguise, as well as perhaps prophecy. After Merlin comes to
Arthur in the guise of a child, and then an old man, to tell him about his parentage, he says, But I
ever ought to be heavy, for I shall die a shameful death, to be put in the earth quick, and ye shall
die a worshipful death (Le Morte, 23). This foreshadows Merlin s death at the hands of his
protГ©gГ© Nineve, and Arthur s death at the end of the book, and illustrates that Merlin has some
knowledge of the events in the future. He demonstrates this once again after subduing Sir Pellinore,
when he tells Arthur, And he shall tell you the name of your own son begotten of your sister that
shall be the destruction of all this realm (Le Morte, 29). Through his powers of foresight, Merlin
can pinpoint what will bring about the end of Camelot. Gandalf, although immortal and powerful,
rarely shows these powers of foresight. The future in Lord of the Rings is something that cannot be
known, only fought

The Book Control Officer On Ft Riley
As the Book Control Officer on Ft Riley, I am required to issue, receive and train officers and

be giving a class on how to maintain accountability of control books. While giving the verbal block

portion of the class.
Therefore, I pared the soldiers, two by two; one was to issue the card and the other one was to

Upon signing the DA Form 4809 and the DD Form 714; which completed that transaction. The

The Dodd Frank Wall Street Reform And Consumer Protection Act
The Dodd Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act was signed to redesign
numerous areas of the US regulatory system and to protect consumers against mortgage
companies, banks, and other entities that were gambling and taking excessive risks with the
consumers financial assets7. The act promised to restore America and create new jobs for those
who had lost everything during the financial crisis of 2008. When the crisis occurred, Wall Street
did not have the tools to break apart or wind down a failing financial firm without putting the
American taxpayer and the entire financial system at risk, and Washington did not have the power
to oversee and limit the risk taking behavior that was taking place at the time7. The act is
composed of sixteen titles, each one can be considered a powerful law individually; however, the
act comprised them all together to have a major impact on the economy. Some of the main
provisions of the Dodd Frank Act removed the burden imposed on the taxpayers and are now
holding Wall Street accountable for any firm that fails in the future7. In addition, the Volcker Rule
has been implemented, in essence this rule prohibits banking institutions to do other activities
unconnected to assisting their customers; this provision separates proprietary trading (which
includes the banks being allowed to own, invest, or sponsor hedge funds, private equity funds, or
proprietary trading operations for their own profit ) from the activity of banking

An American Artist And Member Of The Hudson River School
Albert Bierstadt (1830 1902) was an American artist and member of the Hudson River School.
He was one of the first of the Hudson River Artist s to paint beyond New York and see the
unexplored west. Bierstadt s paintings focused more upon the sublime in nature. His painting
titled Indian Summer Hudson River was completed in 1861. It is oil on canvas painting, which
measures twenty four inches in height by forty one inches wide. One looks out across a
secluded section of the Hudson River. It is late afternoon, and the sun is beginning its decent.
The sun is almost blinding; its rays glistening and reflecting upon the river turning its blues to
greens. The sky is clear with the exception of a few scattered clouds, which begin to absorb the
gold and reds of the setting sun, giving an almost hazy effect to the end of this Indian summer
day. On the far side of the river, a child helps his father pull a small boat onto the bank, as a small
group of cattle makes their way across from the bank opposite them. The cattle move slowly and
intently across the water, drinking as they walk, enjoying the last moments of the day as they
continue toward the father and son. Two additional cows lounge on the cool earth beneath the trees
whose branches are scattered with the crimson and yellow orange colors of early evening and that
of fall. In analyzing Bierstadt s Indian Summer Hudson River , the painting would be defined as an
example of representational artwork. Bierstadt s painting

As suggested by the article to keep reserve stocks for up to 90 days of supply. For example, in Baji
a major oil refinery was set on fire by ISIS forces who were controlling this refinery in the past.
This oil refinery was one o the major oil production companies in the country. In such cases
small safety stocks will finish in a few days, so only keeping reserve stocks may not be the
solution . World s 60 percent oil reserves are in middle east where these types of incidents occur
(Critchlow, 2015).Deciding the perfect amount of safety stock is very critical and depends on
various factors like company sales ,forecasts and transportation risks.
In case of natural disaster or a major disruptions various strategies can be used to prevent loses.
As the article suggests alternate product design can be used in case of disruption ,this approach is
practical and was used by many companies in the past. For instance, In March,2000 after a major
electronic company caught fire in Mexico both Nokia and Ericson were facing component shortage
. Instead of waiting for the product Nokia changed the product design and sourced different
component from other suppliers while Ericson on the other hand lost millions because of this

The Causes And Consequences Of The Logistics Revolution In...
An organization s strategy is the overall plan for an entire business that sets out how the
organization will use its major resources. In other words, an organization s strategy is a plan of
action aimed at reaching specific goals and remaining in good attitude with clients and vendors. On
the other hands, an establishment s structure is the way the pieces of the organization fit together
internally.
Strategy focuses on the ways to be dynamic with an organised plan to achieve a goal or benefit
within a firm/corporation.
Structure is a series of organisational techniques to relate/arrange between parts or elements of
something more complex.
в„—4. Logistics revolution in a business context
Logistic revolution has evolved businesses improving the efficiency of strategy and structure,

The logistics revolution and its consequences are the central points of focus to their book. They
define the logistics revolution as a quiet change to how consumer goods are being produced and
delivered (p. 3). It has a sizeable impact on society and the way it is organized (p. 3). The
revolution is how the entire cycle of production and distribution is now viewed as a single
integrated unit that requires its own specialists for analysis and implementation (p. 3). Following

802. 11 Synthesis Essay
IEEE802.11n made numerous changes to the 802.11 wireless standards that greatly increased the
throughput as compared to earlier versions. 802.11n uses MIMO which is Multiple Input Multiple
Output (also known as Multiple Antennas). MIMO makes use of multiple antennae to create
multiple streams of communications between a transmitter and a receiver. The 802.11n amendment
also introduced changes in the physical as well as MAC layers to make marked changes in the
effectiveness of wireless networks. These changes included spatial division multiplexing, space

So the transmitter can increase the output of the antennas in the direction of computers farther
away or where there are more computers to allow for better coverage or throughput and decrease
the output of the antennas in directions where there are obstacles. Other changes in 802.11n
include: 1. 40 Mhz bandwidth (channel bonding) which can get data rates as high as 600Mpbs
which is a ten fold increase as compared with 802.11 a thru g. 2. Frame aggregation transmits
multiple MAC frames in a PHY packet. 3. Reverse direction protocol allows the ability to
transfer control of an air channel between stations. This is especially good if the receiver is
moving and the transmitters are trying to keep the best connection possible. 4. Support for
Voice over WLAN and multimedia streaming. This is especially important as more telephone
calls go VOIP and more video/audio content is available online. 5. The ability of access points to
change between 20 MHz and 40 MHz. This is good as the receivers for that access point changes.
The access point can speed up or slow down based on the receivers in its broadcast area. 6. Channel
bonding using two 20MHz channels. This turns the two 20 MHz band into a 40MHz band even
though the transmitter is not transmitting at 40MHz. This is good to increase throughput for
receivers that only communicate at the 20MHz

Life Cycle Events In Greek Orthodoxy
Life Cycle Events of Greek Orthodoxy
College is a melting pot of many cultures from around the world. I am lucky enough to live with
someone who is comes from a very different religion than me: my roommate Lindsay Andrews.
While I come from a reformed Jewish family, hers is Greek Orthodox. I spoke to Lindsey about
the four major life cycle events of the Greek Orthodox Church, the first of which is birth. Between
the ages of three and nine months, Greek Orthodox infants are baptized. This means that the infant
is dipped in water, representing how Christ was also baptized. The ceremony takes place in the

However, participants in the ceremony must be Greek Orthodox. There are also specific rules
about who can be godparents, as they are tasked with the spiritual upbringing of the infant. Other
than having to be pious members of the Greek Orthodoxy, they also cannot be minors, mentally
challenged persons, clergy, the biological parents of the child, or someone ignorant of the faith
(Wilson). The baby is dressed in a special outfit for the baptism. Lindsay said hers was long and
white (Andrews). At the ceremony, the child is also given a baptismal name. If they already have
the name of a Greek saint (such as Paul), it remains the same. But if it is not, then they are given
an additional Greek Orthodox name. For example, Lindsay said, my name is Lindsay, which is
Scottish, and so my baptismal name is Nicoletta, which is based off my middle name Nicole
(Andrews). After the ceremony there is a celebration, but it does not contain particular foods. In the

Love And Honor Through The Ages. Love Can Do Crazy Things
Love and Honor Through the Ages Love can do crazy things to many individuals; making them
crazy or mad, dying from a possible broken heart, or even killing themselves or someone else.
During the Middle Ages, love was termed as chivalry or noble love, and then romantic love in the
Nineteenth Century of Romanticism. I will discover and show how it changed during the periods
of literature with the materials we have studied in this class. Let s start at the beginning it s a very
good place to start. Courtly loveand chivalry were depicted in The Knights Tale by Chaucer. Two
knightly brothers, Palamon and Arcite, fall in lovewith the same woman. According to the rules of
chivalry, they are willing to protect one another at all... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

With all the circumstances, faithfully, /
That is to say truth, honour, and knighthood, /

And generous soul and all the lover s art /
So now may Jove have in my soul his part /
As in this world, right now, I know of none /
So worthy to be loved as Palamon /

And if you ever should become a wife, /
Forget not Palamon, the noble man (Chaucer 1925 1939).
First and foremost, a knight was expected to act honorably in his presentation in battles and in his
treatment of women. Common with the times in which this and the next story were written, the
Middle Ages was the expression of chivalry. Depicted within these stories, the unwavering valor in
the face of danger, loyalty to one s leader and companions, and an intense concern for personal
honor (Lawall 1145) are shown multiple times over. Consequently, throughout the story, Arcite and
Palamon faltered in their knightly code, much like the knights in the next story, Malory s The
Knight of the Cart.

route that they took to Oregonwas too dangerous. In 1824, Jedediah Smith found a better way

California, General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo, and took over California. In Mexico, Zachary
Taylor and his 6000 troops took over the Mexican city of Monterrey. Then, they were met by
General Santa Anna and his 20000 Mexican troops. The two sides fought for two days near a
ranch called Buena Vista. Finally, the U.S. captured northern Mexico when Santa Anna and his
troops retreated south. A few months later, General Winfield Scott, nicknamed Old Fuss and
Feathers , led his troops into Veracruz in southern Mexico. At the castle of Chapultepec, the
Americans met about 1000 Mexican soldiers and 100 young military cadets that fought bravely to
defend the fortress. Six cadets who chose to die rather than surrender are still honored in Mexico as

Residential Warranty Tips
While many people prefer to hang their clothes outside, clothes dryers definitely make things more
convenient. Your clothes dryer is covered by home appliance insurance. However, your clothes
dryer does require maintenance. Below are some tips from American Residential Warranty that will
help you maintain your clothes dryer:

American Residential Warranty recommends that you read the owner s manual before you attempt
to do anything. The owner s manual will give you specific tips on things that you need to do do
clean the clothes dryer. The manual can also help you learn the specific parts of the clothes dryer.
Empty The Lint Trap
Many people who have home appliance insurance forget to empty the lint trap. However, it is a
good idea to empty the lint trap before putting clothes in the dryer every time. It is also important
for you to clean the lint trap on a regular basis. All you need is a cloth and mild soap to clean the
clothes dryer. You will then need to allow the lint trap to air dry.... Show more content on

This helps prevent dryer fires. Lint buildup increases the risk of dryer fires by reducing airflow.
Keep in mind that dryers are the cause of 15,000 residential fires yearly.
Disconnect The Exhaust Pipe
Every three to six months, you should disconnect the exhaust pipe. Remove all of the lint. After
that, you will need to run a vacuum hose or dryer vent through the pipe in order to remove as
much lint as you can. Make sure that you disconnect your dryer and pull it away from the wall
before you do this.
Avoid Overloading The Dryer
You should not overload your dryer. Dryers not perform efficiently when they are overloaded. You
will be able to extend the life of your dryer. It will also help you save money on your electric bill
because it uses less

The New Challenge Of Spatial Planning Essay
The new challenge of spatial planning in UK localism dilemmas
1.Introduction:
The planning system in England has been subject to dramatic shifts when the Coalition government
was reselected after almost 70 years since 2010. (Gallent, Nick Hamiduddin, Iqbal Manuela
Madeddu, 2013) This may be proved that the localism can have a significantly impact on urban
planning or spatial area field especially after the Localism Bill was promoted and enacted in
Parliament on November 2011. However, considerable of key questions had been raised with the
implementation of Localism Act: what kind of impact the localist planning have on spatial area and
whether it is a proper formation for the contemporary English spatial planning to practice localism.
This assignment will try to find out what localism is and demonstrate the impact of localism in
England. The aim of this assignment is not only to address these questions but also in purpose of
assessing the advantages and disadvantages of localism to demonstrate the achievements that
spatial planning can earn from the localism.
This paper will begin by focusing on the development of localism in England. It will then illustrate
the spatial city planning in England. The third part will be comparison of the positive or negative
influence the localism has on English spatial planning. The aim is to show whether it is appropriate
framework for English planning system to promote localism. The following part will show the

Alfalfa Research Paper
The plant species that I researched was Medicago sativa, or more commonly known as Alfalfa. I
found this to be a very intriguing plant to research because we grow alfalfa on the farm as a
fodder feed for the animals but I had no idea that it had such a practical use in modern medicine.
It is believed that alfalfa was first grown somewhere within the Middle East and then spread to
Europe and parts of Asia, the colonists brought it over from Europe to America. And today it can
be found in nearly every continent used to feed livestock. The leaves of Alfalfa are what is
beneficial in the use of medicine. The leaves are known to have positve affects on the digestive
system and can help to lower cholesterol. They also aide with the cleansing the... Show more

You just have to know what you are looking for! Feverfew is mainly known for helping with
headaches, but it also helps to lower a small fever, hence the name feverfew. Recent studies have
found that the plant can help with arthritis pain and inflammation but the affects are small unless
taken in a concentrated dose, and the study found that it didnt help with the rheumatoid arthritis.
Feverfew was a common plant during the 1900 s to help with small ailments and it is still used a
lot today in common medicine. Since it is such a common plant and it is not scarce or fought over
by anyone, I do not think that the United States or any other government in the world should be
required to compensate any people for using the feverfew in medicine. Feverfew can be found
nearly all over the world now, but its most commonly found in America, Europe, and parts of
Asia. I feel as though the drugs developed from the plant are beneficial enough and no drug
company or governments needs to compensate for making advancements in medicine with
feverfew. I think this because most people dont even know what feverfew is or its uses. And
because it is so common and easy to grow or find. Have you ever seen feverfew before and now
after you research will you think to use it when you have a bad

Essay about Believing in the Paranormal
A ghost, according to the article History of Ghosts on History.com, is a person s spirit once it
has separated itself from the body after death. Also known as specters, ghosts continue existing
even after the heart stops and the corpse is cold, and they fall under the category of paranormal
phenomena. When something is considered paranormal, it simply means that science has no
explanation for it. So if science can t explain it, it can t be real, right? Not necessarily. It just
means that it hasn t been proven a fact, it s all in theory. But Jack Porter makes a valid point in his
article, The Study of Paranormal Phenomenon is a Legitimate Science , when he says, It is
important to remember the Big Bang is a theory, but that is still... Show more content on

Faint whispering and laughing, along with having their blankets yanked from their bed and harsh
slaps and pinches. It wasn t until 1820, when John Bell died, that the events began to die down,
but even to this day the Bell family descendents say that mysterious things happen inside the old
home. There have even been reports of ghosts of historical figures as well. One of the most
frequently reported dates back to the 16th century. Mother of Queen Elizabeth I and wife to King
Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn was executed at the Tower of London in 1536 after being accused of
witchcraft, treason, adultery and incest. There have been sightings of the woman s ghost reported at
the tower and other locations such as her home, Hever Castle in Kent. (History.com) Then there s
the White House in the United States. Considered to be perhaps the most haunted house in America,
there has been several reported phenomenons, many of them believed to be sightings of past
presidents of the United States. Mary Todd Lincoln, wife of Abraham Lincoln, believed strongly in
the occult and often held seances in order to communicate with her sons. She had told friends she
had heard former president Andrew Jackson stomping and swearing through the halls of the
presidential residence. Jackson s bedchamber, also know as the Rose Room, is said to be one of
the most haunted rooms in the White House. But he isn t the only president said to be wandering

Biological Branches Of The Complex Study Of Life
ABSTRACT Throughout history, there have been many studies conducted regarding different
biological branches of the complex study of life. Amylase, an enzyme that catabolizes starch
polymers, is one of the most important enzymes needed for the production of certain foods, such as
syrups, and different processes such as fermentation. Like everything s biological nature, these
certain enzymes are affected by different factors ranging from pH levels to temperature. Finding out
the temperature at which these enzymes reach their optimal condition (conditions at which these
enzymes work the best), is one of the most revealing studies of all. In this experiment, the affect that
temperature has on the enzymatic activity of Amylasewas the leading role, whether it was to
determine if it was slowing it down or speeding it up. For both experiments, iodine was used as the
control. First, the optimal temperatures of fungal Amylase were tested. For this particular task,
there was not too much changed noticed. For most of the temperatures, the activity change seen
was very minimal. With iodine and starchby itself, the activity remained the same as well as with
the amylase at the 85 degrees test. When testing for the bacterial Amylase, the most change was
seen at the 55 degrees test. Overall, it can be said that as temperature rises or decreases, enzymatic
activity is affected, but of course with a certain plateau.

The Roles of Cultural Belief Systems in Respects to Theme...
Pedro Paramo is a novel that cannot be fully understood without consideration of its rich cultural
background. It is this Mexican background, which informs so much of the novel, providing the
main conflict. The narrator of the tale remarks some villages have the smell of misfortune while
describing the locale of Pedro ParГЎmo, the small Mexican town of Comala where the story plays
out on many levels (83). On the surface level, this story is merely about a tyranical man who ruins
his hometown of Comala. But in reality he does much more than that, his presence detroys the town
completely, driving everyone out and converting the town to a type of purgatory. This deeper harm
that he causes, by damning the rest of his townsmen is the evil... Show more content on

I would walk into town to see what the uproar was about, and this is what I would see: just what
we re seing now. Nothing. No one. The streets as empty as they are now (41). The streets are
always empty in Comala. It has been left completely to ruin and is now inhabited only by the
spirits of those who once lived here. But even spirits must have a reason for staying and not going
on to heaven? In following with the Catholic faith, the people of Comala must wait in purgatory,
the Refuge of Sinners until they have repaid the sins they have committed (16). The town is a
hotbed of sinning, the very image of damnation , it is said That town sits on the coals of the
earth, at the very mouth of hell. They say that when people from there die and go to hell, they
come back for a blanket (52, 6). The instances in which people are actually able to get out are few
and far between, as seen by the quote they ve gone so far that it s easier not to come back. He s
been trying and trying to leave, and I think this is the time (56). This is owing to the abject
poverty of the town, leaving people unable to pay their tithes in order to make it to heaven. These
poor soulds are not even kept in remembrance, so they may never reach heaven. As their
descendants remark we don t even make the effort to pray for them anymore, to help them out of
their purgatory (52). Pedro PГЎramo is a novel with a distinctly Catholic conflict, namely, the

My Reflection On My Experience
My First reflection of my Chinese experience
I intensely remember my first trip to China one year ago. I was just a few weeks into my
appointment as Adviser to the Minister of Economic Development, Tourism, Trade and
Entrepreneurship. I was given the opportunity and privilege to work with this extraordinary
professional, and my perception of China was at the time was still quite asymmetrical.
I took office in my new position, just a couple of months since my return from the Expo Milan 2015
Universal Exhibition, where I served as Director of the Albanian Pavilion throughout the six
intensive months of its duration.
Albania was participating for the first time with a self made pavilion, and was part of the Sicilian

Every week there would be a food tasting from each Chinese region. At the same time such regions
would showcase they re most particular emphasis on the local culture such as in songs or theatre.
I knew for a fact through many stories told to me in a legendary fashion when I was younger, that
at some point in time during the 1960s and 70s, especially after both countries split with Russia, the
relationships between China and Albania was so close that Albania was considered the only beacon
of light and friendship in Europe. I had also heard that this special relationship was so exclusive,
that culturally both countries had shared their music and cinematography during those years.
Consequently there I was, in the Chinese Pavilion, in the middle of one of the biggest and most
important worldwide international events, talking to someone who could remind himself of a
socialist era Albanian movie, and explaining me how most of the Chinese at the time were so fond
of the Albanian cinematography, that some of them could still remember the popular Albanian
national liberation greeting death to the fascists, freedom to the people . I was astounded.
While I was preparing for my trip to China, a bilateral ministerial meeting in Ningbo, I did a resume
of the bilateral agreements and the cooperation between the two countries. I was astound to find
that they were covering pretty much any

  • 3. Accomplish Victory What is a recession? A recession is declared once the GDP is negative for two consecutive quarters or more, a few quarters before is actually the start of an economic downturn. GDP is defined as gross domestic product and that basically means the total value of goods the United States has produced, for the year. The first few signs of a recessionare negative growth followed by a miniature positive growth. Because American citizens don t have the money to spend they don t spend and the consumer spending aspect of the economy takes a drastic downfall. Unemployment rates also have play in determining a recession (22). Proper money management and finances could bring an economy out of a recession. There are major flaws in the way... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Then depending on the person they could take years to pay off that one bill out of the other 20 that they have. So what I am saying here is that if many people do this then, the economy will inflate, causing the value of money to go down prices to go up and so on and so forth. One of the hardest and most difficult economic recessions in history was accomplished using Keynesian economics by John Fredrick Kennedy. Keynesian economics is a theory of total spending in the economy (called aggregate demand) and its effects on output and inflation. Although the term has been used (and abused) to describe many things over the years there is six principal systems or beliefs that are what a Keynesian believes. (20) A Keynesian believes that total demand is inclined by a swarm of financial decisions public and private. The public decisions include, financial and economic policies. Nearly all Keynesians and monetarists believe that both financial and economic policies affect total demand. Secondly changes in total demand have their affect on output and on employment not on prices. Keynesians believe that it must get worse for it to get better. Also they believe that we live in the short run of things not in the long run. Keynes s famous statement, In the long run, we are all dead. Thirdly Keynesians believe that prices, and more ... • 5. The Epidemic Of Polio During The Egyptian Era From the late Egyptian era to the early 1900 s, humans were perplexed about why people were suddenly getting paralyzed without warning. It wasn t until research skills and technology accessibility improved that scientists were able to grasp the idea that it was all caused by the Poliomyelitis virus. Polio began ravaging through the world in the twentieth century, crippling children, and, even after the discovery of numerous vaccines, is still relentless enough that it infects children today. Poliomyelitis, also called infantile paralysis (Swanson 1), is a virus that has been around for over 3,000 years, but had troubled scientists right up until the early 1900s when they had the resources to fully research it. This virus is part of the enterovirus division, meaning it attacks through oral ingestion and gains access to the body along the gastrointestinal tract (the tract that leads from the mouth to the anus). From the G.I. tract, it then enters the blood, through which it travels to and attacks the nervous system. Once the virus fully destroys a neuron, the neuron then cannot regenerate and therefore ends the connection between the other neurons around it. This left the infected hosts with twisted limbs, extreme muscle pain and spasms, and, in extremely severe cases, the inability to perform vital life functions. Polio can be classified into three different types, depending on which part of the nervous system it decides to attack. Spinal Poliomyelitis was the most ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The treatment of Jews in Germany during this time was extremely brutal and harrowing. The human rights abuses against Jewish people in Nazi Germany during the world war two periods are extremely well documented. Anti Semitism ranged from the outlawing of marriage between Jews and gentiles, the Nazi regime sanctioned destruction of Jewish homes and synagogue and of course the holocaust. The holocaust is one of the darkest moments in modern history where approximately six million Jews were killed in extermination camps in Poland which was occupied by Nazi Germanyat the time. Anti Semitism was deeply engrained in the policies, ideology and dogma of the Nazi party in Germany during world war two. Anti Semitism was no new phenomena in Germany during the 1930s and 1940s. Writing isn t as complex of a process as you might think it is, in fact, I challenge all of you to throw away that preconceived notion that writing a book is just too impossible because it s not. the question is. Where do you begin? Beginning Step 1 Beginning a book may not sound too complicated to some people and it s not. What is important is to understand what you should be working on first. • 8. Sojourner Truth And Louisa May Alcott During the eighteenth and nineteenth century, American Literature was considered to be of insignificant quality compared to that of English Literature, and was rarely recognized in the literary world. However, this opinion did eventually change because of the success of some very creative American authors. Sojourner Truth and Louisa May Alcottwere two women who not only produced unforgettable works of literature and presented powerful speeches, but also had a monumental impact on American Literature as well as American history. These women represent the unique American spirit because of their bravery and determination for their voices to be heard for what they believed in during a time when women were meant to be seen but not heard. The literary world during this time period was dominated by men, but the world was changing, and women began to make a name for themselves as creative and legitimate writers. During the time in history women were also fighting for their rights to be heard and treated equally among men. Also, the issue of slavery was at its peak as the country became divided behind the issue, and the prospect of a civil war was becoming more of a reality. Sojourner Truth was born in Upstate New York in 1797 (Baym 804). She was not born into a life of privilege or ease. Truth could not read or write, but she became one of the most influential speakers of the time (Baym 801). She fought for the abolishment of slavery, as well as the rights of women (Baym 801). ... • 13. Cause And Effect Of Tornados To form a tornado the atmosphere needs to create an instability. The air closest to the ground will be warm, humid, and have south facing winds. In the upper atmosphere, the air will be cold with west or southwest facing winds. These two components in the upper and lower atmosphere together create the atmospheric instability. Another key component to form a tornadois wind shear. Wind shear is the change in wind speed and direction of wind while the warmer and cooler air are chasing each other around in the circle, creating the height of the tornado. ( Prepare for a Tornado, 2017) Although tornados have been recorded in every continent except for Antarctica most are found in central United States better known as tornado alley a stretch of land from the western part of Texas to North Dakota. On average, there are two thousand tornadoes annually, but two out of three of those tornadoes happen in the United States. The states with the most tornados on average are Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Florida. Tornadoes form in the central part of the United States most commonly because of the reoccurring atmospheric instability from the dry polar air that meets the warm moist air from the Gulf of Mexico. (Prepare for a Tornado, 2017) A storm capable of producing a tornado can occur at any time but most often they occur in the spring and summer, June and May have the highest number of tornados recorded. • 14. The Iran Hostage Crisis And America s First Encounter With... On David Farber s book Taken Hostage, Farber informs us about the Iran Hostage Crisis and America s First Encounter with Radical Islam. This book tells us how the United States and Iran got into conflict, leading to the Iranians holding American Embassy members hostage as revenge for them feeling betrayed by the United States. It also informs us about other events that occurred in a decade that caused the United States many problems. Farber talked about all the events that lead to the Iranian Hostage Crisis. November 4, 1979, seizure of the United States embassy in Tehran and the hostage of four hundred and forty four days following, were the first steps leading up to the perpetual War on Terror. Farber believes the failure from American policymakers and more specifically from President Carter, to identify the severity of the crisis made for the prolonged crisis. The sheer ineptitude of Carter administration was the cost of the US to lose it s way economically, culturally, politically and even military. Carter struggled to respond to the impulses of Islamic fundamentalism within the prevailing Cold War paradigm. They saw the real battle as against secular modernism and they recognized that the US was the major force spreading this cultural and political belief throughout the world. The media misrepresentations of the struggle and mass media manipulation of Americans played on the peoples emotions. Although Carter was popular at the beginning of his presidency, this began ... Hendee (founder of Indian MotorcycleManufacturing), just to name a few. By 1920, the company was producing almost 30,000 bikes annually and was the world s largest motorcycle manufacturer, taking the title away from Indian Motorcycle. However, a combination of a mild economic depression and Henry Ford s Model T began eating away at Harley Davidson s profits, and the motorcycle company even had to reject a potential business partnership with Ford Motor Company to protect themselves ( William S. Harley, Arthur ). The partnership involved manufacturing Harley Davidson bikes with a sidecar to be used to deliver mail, albeit under the Ford name. Harley Davidson rejected this deal, but later used the idea to sell their own bikes to the Postal Service (Harley and the Davidsons). In 1914, the U.S Postal Service was using 4,800 Harley Davidson motorcycles to deliver mail. To save their company, Harley designed motorcycles to be used by law enforcement across the United States. By the mid 1920s, roughly 3,000 law enforcement personnel would be riding a Harley Davidson, a testament to William Harley s engineering genius. In addition, Harley would design bikes with larger engines and brakes which helped boost sales for a short while before the Great Depression came. To counter the resulting plummet in sales, Harley gave the bikes a facelift, designing new bikes with more appealing fuel tanks and adding both stylized eagle designs and the company logo on the bikes to increase appeal. • 16. A Report On Uav Traffic Safety Abstract The purpose of this paper is to review some UAV traffic concerns. UAV traffic is increasing tremendously over the past decade. There have been a number of mid air collisions with UAVs crashing into commercial aircraft or into each other. They are big enough to cause more engine foreign object damage than a bird strike. This is because they are made of stronger material and plus they have batteries on board that can cause severe damage to aircraft. Air traffic controllers need to know how many UAVs are operating in their area of responsibility and know exactly where they are. The FAA has adapted to the some of the new UAV laws, but this paper will show where they are lacking some rules and regulations involving UAV traffic. Introduction This paper is going to demonstrate the importance of UAV traffic control. It will review some previous mid air collisions with both UAVs colliding with each other and with commercial aircraft. It will include some of the causes like lack of technology to detect UAVs and other aircraft, air traffic controller centers lacking technology, and the FAA lacking rules and regulations addressing the UAV population increases. The technology has to communicate back and forth from the UAV to the operator and back. This can become a problem because of hacking threats. The main concern of this paper is to propose an efficient and secure air traffic control of UAVs. In the article Secure routing in UAV , the three ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 17. The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner Coleridge?s Hidden Journal: ?The Rime of the Ancient Mariner? Samuel Taylor Coleridge?s ?Rime of the Ancient Mariner? is a piece known to many in some vague way or another. An elderly sailor, a ghostly ship, and the killing of an albatross are all present in many people?s minds, although they may not entirely know the whole tale. Although well known today, the most activity ?Rime? has seen was in its beginnings. It has its fair share of praise and criticism, praise given posthumously and criticism given while Coleridge was alive. Other than criticisms on the actual text, many people claim that Coleridge borrowed the ideas of others and used them. One must look past the criticisms and negative reviews on an author?s work in order to truly understand it. This would aid a reader in realizing ?Rime? is full of religious truths, subtly illustrating Coleridge?s religious opinions. More than this, ?Rime? is a hidden pathway to Coleridge?s soul, as it allowed him to relieve grief and pain, illustrate his hopes and dreams, and express his true feelings about his life and the lives of all. Although Samuel Taylor Coleridge?s ?Rime of the Ancient Mariner? was criticized by many, it was more than a poem stuffed with borrowed ideas and stitched together with imagination; rather, it was an outlet for Coleridge, a therapeutical journal which simultaneously brought entertainment to those of his time and posterity. • 22. Pacem In Terris Pacem in Terris was read and accepted by readers outside the Catholic Church in a way that no other encyclical had been. One reason for this was undoubtedly the charisma of John XXIII himself, who addressed his encyclical not only to bishops, clergy and the faithful, but also to men of good will. Another was living with the constant threat of the Cold War thinking about where and when it would next lead. This document was born in the mind of John XXIII in the fall of 1962 which was during the Cuban missile crises when he was serving as the back channel between President John F. Kennedy and the soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev who were urging to end the cold world war. The main reason of this document was because for Pope, the missile crisis was a very prophetic moment. Chrysalids Rebellion Quotes Chrysalids essay Kaden I think the author added rebellion of culture as a theme because we re so used to following our ways and not rebelling against culture and it mixes us up from what we re used too and intrigues us. I think the author hints that rebelling is acceptable in the novel so that we think about it and decide if it actually is. In the chrysalids rebellion happens because if a person is being harmed or discriminated in an unfair manner they are allowed to rebel. He thinks rebellion is ok because maybe a deviation could be helpful, for example David and his friends could talk without speaking. Also, I think the author argues it is ok to rebel to protect someone else from harm. Many people in the chrysalids rebel from their culture and society, these are just some examples of why the author lets rebellion happen.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The stem function seems to permanently reorder the data so that they are sorted according to the variable that the stem and leaf plot was plotted for. The best way to avoid this problem is to avoid doing any stem and leaf plots (do histograms instead). However, if you really want to do a stem and leaf plot you should always create a variable containing the original observation numbers (called index, for example). A command to do so is: generate index = _n If you do this, then you can re sort the data after the stem and leaf plot according to the index variable: sort index. Then, the data are back in the original order. Merlin had disguised the men so well that they took on the appearance of other people, enough that Igraine believed Uthor was her husband. Merlin s greatest feats usually involve shapeshifting and disguise, as well as perhaps prophecy. After Merlin comes to Arthur in the guise of a child, and then an old man, to tell him about his parentage, he says, But I ever ought to be heavy, for I shall die a shameful death, to be put in the earth quick, and ye shall die a worshipful death (Le Morte, 23). This foreshadows Merlin s death at the hands of his protГ©gГ© Nineve, and Arthur s death at the end of the book, and illustrates that Merlin has some knowledge of the events in the future. He demonstrates this once again after subduing Sir Pellinore, when he tells Arthur, And he shall tell you the name of your own son begotten of your sister that shall be the destruction of all this realm (Le Morte, 29). Common with the times in which this and the next story were written, the Middle Ages was the expression of chivalry. Depicted within these stories, the unwavering valor in the face of danger, loyalty to one s leader and companions, and an intense concern for personal honor (Lawall 1145) are shown multiple times over. Consequently, throughout the story, Arcite and Palamon faltered in their knightly code, much like the knights in the next story, Malory s The Knight of the Cart. Later, Spain and Russia gave up their claims, which left Britain and the U.S. to agree to a joint occupation of Oregon. Oregon was discovered during the Lewis and Clark expedition, but the route that they took to Oregonwas too dangerous. In 1824, Jedediah Smith found a better way called the South Pass to get to Oregon. As a result, missionaries who made converts along the way traveled to Oregon. I found this to be a very intriguing plant to research because we grow alfalfa on the farm as a fodder feed for the animals but I had no idea that it had such a practical use in modern medicine. It is believed that alfalfa was first grown somewhere within the Middle East and then spread to Europe and parts of Asia, the colonists brought it over from Europe to America. And today it can be found in nearly every continent used to feed livestock. Recent studies have found that the plant can help with arthritis pain and inflammation but the affects are small unless taken in a concentrated dose, and the study found that it didnt help with the rheumatoid arthritis. Feverfew was a common plant during the 1900 s to help with small ailments and it is still used a lot today in common medicine. Since it is such a common plant and it is not scarce or fought over by anyone, I do not think that the United States or any other government in the world should be required to compensate any people for using the feverfew in medicine. Feverfew can be found nearly all over the world now, but its most commonly found in America, Europe, and parts of Asia. I feel as though the drugs developed from the plant are beneficial enough and no drug company or governments needs to compensate for making advancements in medicine with feverfew. I think this because most people dont even know what feverfew is or its uses. And because it is so common and easy to grow or find. There have even been reports of ghosts of historical figures as well. One of the most frequently reported dates back to the 16th century. • 47. Biological Branches Of The Complex Study Of Life ABSTRACT Throughout history, there have been many studies conducted regarding different biological branches of the complex study of life. Amylase, an enzyme that catabolizes starch polymers, is one of the most important enzymes needed for the production of certain foods, such as syrups, and different processes such as fermentation. Like everything s biological nature, these certain enzymes are affected by different factors ranging from pH levels to temperature. Finding out the temperature at which these enzymes reach their optimal condition (conditions at which these enzymes work the best), is one of the most revealing studies of all. In this experiment, the affect that temperature has on the enzymatic activity of Amylasewas the leading role, whether it was to determine if it was slowing it down or speeding it up. For both experiments, iodine was used as the control. First, the optimal temperatures of fungal Amylase were tested. For this particular task, there was not too much changed noticed. For most of the temperatures, the activity change seen was very minimal. With iodine and starchby itself, the activity remained the same as well as with the amylase at the 85 degrees test. When testing for the bacterial Amylase, the most change was seen at the 55 degrees test. Overall, it can be said that as temperature rises or decreases, enzymatic activity is affected, but of course with a certain plateau. INTRODUCTION When it comes to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is this Mexican background, which informs so much of the novel, providing the main conflict. The narrator of the tale remarks some villages have the smell of misfortune while describing the locale of Pedro ParГЎmo, the small Mexican town of Comala where the story plays out on many levels (83). On the surface level, this story is merely about a tyranical man who ruins his hometown of Comala. The streets are always empty in Comala. It has been left completely to ruin and is now inhabited only by the spirits of those who once lived here. But even spirits must have a reason for staying and not going on to heaven? In following with the Catholic faith, the people of Comala must wait in purgatory, the Refuge of Sinners until they have repaid the sins they have committed (16). The town is a hotbed of sinning, the very image of damnation , it is said That town sits on the coals of the earth, at the very mouth of hell. They say that when people from there die and go to hell, they come back for a blanket (52, 6). The instances in which people are actually able to get out are few and far between, as seen by the quote they ve gone so far that it s easier not to come back. He s been trying and trying to leave, and I think this is the time (56). This is owing to the abject poverty of the town, leaving people unable to pay their tithes in order to make it to heaven. These poor soulds are not even kept in remembrance, so they may never reach heaven. As their descendants remark we don t even make the effort to pray for them anymore, to help them out of their purgatory (52).
