Rana Karan H prepared a report on a horizontal multi-water tube boiler for a chemical engineering course. The boiler uses natural circulation of water and forced circulation of air and hot gases, can be fueled by solid or liquid fuels, and has a maximum working pressure of 40 bar and steam capacity of 40,000 kg/hr. It consists of inclined water tubes, a steam and water drum, mud box, and superheater. Hot gases produced in the furnace pass through the tubes in a sine wave pattern, heating the water and converting it to steam which rises into the drum. The steam then enters the superheater tubes and is supplied to an engine.
