This document analyzes FHSS-CDMA with QAM-64 modulation over AWGN and fading channels. It finds that Rician fading channels result in fewer bit errors than Rayleigh fading channels due to the presence of line of sight communication in Rician fading. QAM-64 is used with FHSS-CDMA to provide high data rates for multimedia content transmission. Simulations are performed for various modulation and channel conditions. Results show that AWGN channels produce the fewest errors, followed by Rician fading, with Rayleigh fading producing the most errors. Increasing bit energy can further reduce errors in AWGN channels.

Improving quality of service using ofdm technique for 4 th generation networkeSAT Journals
Abstract The migration to 4G networks will bring a new level of expectation to wireless communications. As after digital wireless revolution made mobile phones available for everyone, the higher speeds and packet delivery of 4G networks will make high quality multimedia available everywhere. The key to achieving this higher level of service delivery is a new air interface, OFDM, which is in turn enabled by the high level of performance. OFDM provides a robust signal that requires relatively little power yet uses bandwidth very efficiently. Carriers will benefit from greater flexibility by using OFDM, since in the same spectrum they will be able to offer more channels, including higher ‘bandwidth channels, with more types of services. Currently these systems are still being defined and prototyped. Achieving higher data rates requires OFDM systems to make more efficient use of the bandwidth than CDMA systems. One method of achieving this higher efficiency is through the use of higher order modulation. In this paper we have compared two digital modulation techniques 32QAM and 64QAM used for digital transmission of data. Our main objective to develop this configuration is to compare the performance of each modulation techniques. Comparison is done by Bit Error Rate analysis of both modulation techniques. We have developed existing configurations and improved them with high quality senders and receivers using MATLAB technology. In this paper we have also considered how OFDM can improve the real time video streaming over the wireless network. We have considered the problem of multiuser video streaming over OFDM. OFDM is a multi carrier modulation. The growing interest in Multicarrier Transmission by researchers and product developers motivated us to propose this topic for a special issue of Wireless Video transmission and Communications. Index Terms: QAM’ Quadrature Amplitude Modulation, OFDM' Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing, QoS’ Quality of service

Enhanced Data rates for Global Evolution (EDGE)Ramrao Desai
Mobile users continue to demand higher data rates. With the continued growth in cellular services, laptop computer use and the Internet, wireless network providers are beginning to pay an increasing amount of attention to packet data networks. Enhanced Global Packet Radio Service (EGPRS) offers a substantial improvement in performance and capacity over existing GPRS services, in return for a relatively minimal additional investment. EGPRS, commonly called EDGE, achieves these enhancements to the GPRS system primarily by implementing changes to the Physical layer and to the Medium Access Control/Radio Link Control (MAC/RLC) layer. The significant improvements are a new modulation technique, additional modulation coding schemes, a combined Link Adaptation and Incremental Redundancy technique, re-segmentation of erroneously received packets, and a larger transmission window size.
DYNAMIC OPTIMIZATION OF OVERLAPAND- ADD LENGTH OVER MBOFDM SYSTEM BASED ON SN...cscpconf
An important role performed by Zero Padding (ZP) in multi-band OFDM (MB-OFDM) System.
This role show for low-complexity in résistance against multipath interference by reducing
inter-carrier interference (ICI) and eliminating the inter-symbol interference (ISI) Also, zeropadded
suffix can be used to eliminate ripples in the power spectral density in order to conform
to FCC requirements.
At the receiver of MB-OFDM system needs to use of a technique called as overlap-and-add
(OLA). Which maintain the circular convolution property and take the multipath energy of the
channel.
In this paper, we proposed a method of performing overlap-and-add length for zero padded
suffixes. Then, we studied the effect of this method, dynamic optimization of overlap-and-add
(OLA) equalization, on the performance of MBOFDM system on Bit Error Rate (BER) with
AWGN channel and Saleh-Valenzuela (S-V) Multipath channel Model.
In the dynamic optimization OLA, the Length of ZP depends on length of channel impulse
response (CIR). These measures, based on SNR, insert the ZP according to the measurement.
Dynamic optimization of length of ZP improves the Performance of MBOFDM system. In fact
we developed a technique to select the length of ZP as function of SNR and CIR
estimate(repetition). In our simulation this technique improve to 3 dB at BER=10-2 with a
multipath channels CM4.

The project was a study based report on the RAN evolution path of 2.5G EDGE Networks to HSDPA. HSDPA is a 3.5G wireless cellular system, a cost-efficient upgrade to UMTS systems and promises to deliver performance comparable to today’s wireless LAN services, but with the added benefit of mobility and ubiquitous coverage. It can offer data rates of up to 14.4 Mbps which is far beyond what 2.5G and 3G cellular systems could offer. The project focuses on a two-step upgrade, first from GSM towards the deployment of UMTS/WCDMA and then towards HSDPA. It begins a new era of “Mobile broadband” services and faces competition from “WiMAX” – but with GSM services having an obvious upgrade path to WCDMA, HSDPA seems to be leading the market in several parts of the world. HSDPA is an extremely cost-effective path to higher data rates and provides more efficient use of valuable spectrum. It enables operators to compete effectively in increasingly converged markets and satisfy the need for enhanced QoS in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
In recent past the influence of Radar has played a significant part in various fields. Radar sensing is one of
the prime application by which velocity and distance of a moving target can be found out. A joint RadCom
system to serve both radar sensing and wireless communication is proposed which ensures better
performance in terms of spectral efficiency, extended detection range and cost effectiveness. Such systems
demand for a common waveform which is designed in this work that perfectly matches to the system
requirements. OFDM multi carrier technique is chosen to generate a common waveform. Applicability of
multiple antenna technique for direction of arrival estimation is also considered. MIMO-OFDM technique
has gained much interest in the field of communication which improves the signal to noise ratio and lowers
the bit error rate. On the other hand the usage of MIMO reflects in the form of interference between
signals. In order to overcome this effect beamforming technique is used. In addition to theoretical
explanations we have also simulated and discussed the results for the proposed RadCom system using
MATLAB simulation tool.

Channel Estimation Techniques in MIMO-OFDM LTE SystemsCauses and Effects of C...IJERA Editor
There is an increasing demand for high data transmission rates with the evolution of the very large scale integration (VLSI) technology. The multiple input multiple output-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) systems are used to fulfill these requirements because of their unique properties such as high spectral efficiency, high data rate and resistance towards multipath propagation. MIMO-OFDM systems are finding their applications in the modern wireless communication systems like IEEE 802.11n, 4G and LTE. They also offer reliable communication with the increased coverage area. The bottleneck to the MIMO-OFDM systems is the estimation of the channel state information (CSI). This can be estimated with the help of any one of the Training Based, Semiblind and Blind Channel estimation algorithms. This paper presents various channel estimation algorithms, optimization techniques and their effective utilization in MIMO-OFDM for modern wireless LTE systems.
