Fraser Hardwick evaluated their production process for an FMP project. They conducted research to understand audience preferences and found storyboarding and creating a prototype short film helped planning and shooting. Peer feedback noted the dark lighting made some scenes difficult to see while praising the costume design and props, suggesting brighter lighting for future projects.

Research
Strengths of research:
• Got to see similar products. That could
help improve my products ideas and
themes.
• Know what my audience wants. So I
know who will watch my clip.
• Find out who I'm aiming my product
towards, therefor feedback from them is
the most useful.
• Feedback to help my product work.
Therefor all feedback given is used in the
final product.
Weaknesses:
• Multiple opinions to answer too therefor
I won’t be able to put in everything said
if collide opinions. Affecting the last
product.
• some people don’t take it seriously,
giving stupid responses I don’t need.
• Shows me what I can’t copy or redo.
Therefor closing ideas because it would
be copying.

4. Planning
• Mood bored meant I could have all my ideas round one bit of paper.
Unforcantly this was a messy way for me to have my ideas down because
it looked messy and un readable at times.
• The story boarding helped a lot because I could see what I needed to do
and how I’d shoot certain scenes. Therefor making me more effective in
the shooting process.
• Making a mini clip before the big shoot helped because I could add to that
project and only improve it from what I had.

5. Time Management
• I completed all my work in on time although there where a few hiccups in
my work unforcantly that gave me less time to fix and finish work. And
example of the where problems with my crew on a weekend. Therefor I
had to move shooting days into the week that wasted some time. This was
easily made up for in one day of a planned shooting with a smaller team.
• on blackboard we where given a certain schedule to make our product in
so every week we would have had to finished a certain aspect of our
theory work or the creative work.These time scales meant work was done
quickly and efficiently each day.

7. Aesthetic Qualities
What I think my movie did well is taking
feedback into account and using it to make
my product suitable to the audience I was
aiming at. This is why the questions were key
to make my product to give a classic horror
movie feel to it. This is why I thought mine
worked, as well as editing the clips to give it
more of a horror movie feel. as well as adding
a title sequence and credits giving a full
movie feel. This is why I think mine worked
because it gave a concept of what it was
straight from the beginning.

8. Audience Appeal
How I made my clip appeal was
to use surveys and
questionnaires to see what they
like out of a classic horror movie.
This was done by asking certain
questions and analyzing what
audience members prefer in a
horror movie. This ment my clip
could be based round what my
audience prefers and therefore
would have better responses and
my even be viewed more.

• What did you like about the product?
– I like the darkness of the clips and how that added
a horror effect to the film and I also liked the mask
and how you used props as in the blood and
weapons. I loved the dab!!!!!
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– Some of the clips could have had more light in
them because you couldn’t see what was
happening.

• What did you like about the product?
– The production was overall had a good editing style and the lighting
was a good aspect of the production and worked in some ways to help
illustrate the horror genre. The use of props within the production and
candle light worked for what you were trying to achieve.
• What improvements could have been made to the product?
• In some shots within the edit I could not see what was happening
because of the lighting being too dark. This made these shots hard
to follow. This could be done like you did by altering the lighting and
looking at curves within Premiere. However, the lighting was done
for effect and did fit the film.

• What did you like about the product?
– I liked the costume design and the props. This showed me you put
time and effort into making your project as well as using feed back
from us to improve and keep it as viewer friendly as possible.
– As well as the music used fit well with what was happing on screen.
– It was really well put together and it worked.
• What improvements could have been made to the product?
• I enjoyed the darkness because that added in a horror effect
although I couldn't see much of what was happing because it was
too dark.
• It was also rather jumpy from cut to cut, losing pace a lot of the
time

feedback?
– I agree with the fact that the brightness of my
production was dark therefor detail couldn't bee seen
– I also agree with costume choice mainly because I got
the point across that it was meant to be a classic.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
– I do disagree with the darkness effecting the whole
experience because that's what my horror movies
about. (how the dark is the biggest killer)

14. Peer Feedback Summary
I would take into account the lighting effect because I do agree they
seem too dark to see proper detail. Therefor it was hard to track for some
viewers. This meant the actual finished product didn't look professional.
As well as looking unfinished and still in a point of “a work in progress” If
I could edit it again I would make it even more brighter as well as, if I got
to shoot again I would use better lighting effects.
Another thing I’d add would maybe be a blooper reel at the end because
I thought that really makes the audience understand the production and
what went into the product. This would make the clip much longer
adding more content with outtakes and other faults.
