3. • What were the strengths of your research? How did your research help your
product?
• What were the weaknesses of your research? What could you have done
better/improve? What effect would this have had on your product?
For my research I took part in primary and secondary research to help me
gather a wide range of information, I believe that my research did help me
decide on my target audience and helped me know what I needed to include
in the film.
Also the research I took part in helped me a lot with how to do the production
and what effects I could have incorporated, looking at existing products
showed me how other films use night as a big standing point in horror, so
using f the effects on premier I did this my self making my film I shot in the
day look as if it is night time.
However I believe that I should have stuck to my research more using the
shots I wanted, and looking at how other films create tension and fear through
the way they shoot the shot and what they have included in there shot.
4. • What were the strengths of your planning? How did your planning help your
product?
• What were the weaknesses of your planning? What could you have done
better/improve? What effect would this have had on your product?
When planning my film I believe this I what let my final product down the
most in the end, i do believe my planning helped me have an idea on
what I am doing and what I need, however I did not book the equipment
in time and did not follow my risk assessment.
this meant I ended up being unable to film half of my film and when it
came to production I did not reach the time limit, however I was able to
change my film filming some at school and adding clips in from YouTube
to add a story line to the film.
5. • Did you manage your time well? Did you complete your project on
time or would your products have improved with additional time?
• What would you have done if you had more time to produce your
work?
With this task I struggled with the time management I felt that the
planning and written work took me far too long so when it came to
filming I had very little time to do this.
However I may have been able to finish it all in time if I stuck to
my risk assessment and did not book equipment and have
problems so late in production. Next time I wll make sure I book
what I need far in advanced bringing spare equipment and battery
for the cameras, I also will make sure I can finish my planning in
time.
6. Making my film I decided to make a horror film for my 1 minute short film,
therefore when planning the film I wanted to use several camera angles
and techniques. This included long shots to create mystery when showing
the mysterious figure also I would like to have ended mine with a canned
angle shot to create dramatic effect and add to the death scene.
Although when it came to filming I did not use as many shots as hoped next
time I would like to add in more long shots and less moving shots as it
made the camera shakey.
Although I still included the final cannded shot and it worked really well at
making the final scene more creepy.

8. • Compare your work to similar existing products and discuss the
similarities and differences
• Put your final piece(s) in the centre of a page alongside an existing
product
• Use text boxes and arrows
I think the best quality of my final product is the editing and post
production I took part in to make my film complete, I shot my film in
the day however I wanted it to be set at night so using the effects
and layer tools on premiere I made it seem as though it is at night
time.
I also used several effects to make the screen change colors when a
character died to seem as if it is like a game.
However I believe I could have made the way the order of the clips
flowed a lot smoother as I find it abet jumpy and annoying at certain
clips, so if iw as to make another or remake it would have made the
clips fade from one to another.
9. • Does your work look good? Was it creative? What aspects of your game’s
visuals do you like? What would you improve? How would you improve it?
• Discuss the strengths and weaknesses
• Put your final piece(s) in the centre of a page and analyse them
• Use text boxes and arrows
• I believe my final product looked good compared to the amount of footage I
actually got, I had to change the story and theme however including some clips
from YouTube to make the film seem as if it was a game, these particular clips
worked really well and helped bring the story together. The editing I did worked
out quite well as it made the film come together and there story easier to follow
and making the film look like night worked out well using the RGB colour to
change the contrast and brightness.
• However I do not think that the filming I took was very good the camera was
shaky therefore I should have used a tripod also it was hard to tell what's
actually going on.
10. My original target audience was for horror fans however the final product
had to be completely changed due to lack of footage and time issues,
however I then incorporated gaming into the film which is a hot topic
amongst people our age. The film was also fast passed and kept moving
hopefully keeping people watching and not being particularly boring.
However the way it was filmed and shoddy editing made it look
unprofessional and to some may be a pain to watch, contains weird
contrast and a jumpy camera it may irritate people and be hard to watch
with all the moving going on.
12. What did you like about the product?
I liked the use of colour in the running scenes making the film
darker to seem as if its set at night time.
I liked the use of sound effects in the film especially when there
playing the game.
What improvements could have been made to the product?
The film was filmed poorly
13. What did you like about the product?
I liked the story behind the film I found it creative and different to
things I've seen, especially the changing between reality and game.
I also liked the change in the colours when it went from day to night I
found that the night effect worked well.
What improvements could have been made to the product?
I think you could have filmed more footage for the film and made the
overall story easy to follow as I struggled to keep up and understand
why they were actually running.
14. What did you like about the product?
After watching the film I really enjoyed the sound effects you have
used throughout, I really feel as if it brought the film to live in a way.
I also liked the angels that you had used towards the end of the film I
would class this angel as a “canned angel”
What improvements could have been made to the product?
After watching the film, I feel as if more time could have been
used on the general filming side of it.
I also think your filming would have been made to look better if
you had used a tripod. Using this really gives your film the chance
to look professional.
15. What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
After reading thorough the feedback I received I agree that the
filming of my film could have been far better if using a tripod and
less moving about, I also agree that the sound effects I have used
work really well and are quite well timed and in sync with the
action.
What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
However I do not agree that the story was that hard to follow as I
made it quite obvious what was going on in the scenes through the
noises and what I included in-between each shot.
16. After looking at the feed back and summarising it I believe there
are several improvements that may be made in my film, firstly
the big let down was the filming it was too shaky and not the
best focus so next time I would like to use the tripod more as it
makes the film look professional and keeps the shot still.
I also believe that I could have maybe tried to film more and
include more shots in general, although this was due to a timing
issue this suggests I should make a change when it comes to
planning and spend less time on that and more time on the
actual production.
