 The strengths I found within m research, is that I explored a number of different articles and existing products that have
helped and inspired me when I came to create my short film, I researched different existing short films within the genre I
had chosen, to look at different angles I could use in my own film. My research helped me in massive way, when I came
to create my product because I created a a survey that had a number of questions that would help me gain knowledge
of my audience. Other strengths I found within my research were identifying my target audience, because this gave me
the chance to understand how the audience felt about the genre I wanted to base my film, and what they most look for
within a film.
 The weaknesses I found within my research, were that I could have researched different concepts of movies more. This
would later on inspire me when I came to produce my own as I found it different to think of a realistic concept that would
stay within the brief outline I had been given. If I had been given more time on producing my film I would have done
spent more time on the research section, researching more existing products. I feel as if I had spent more time on my
research, my film would have come out different, my films concept would have been stronger and the viewer would
have been able to understand the films concept without any difficulty.
 The strengths I found, when doing my planning were that everything I had planned helped me throughout the production
stage of my product, I planned everything I wished to use within my film, for example, the sound effects, the people I
wanted to use in my film. Because In planned these elements my production ran smoothly. Another strength I found
within my planning was that I knew what angels I wanted to use when filing my film because I had planned it thoroughly.
 The weaknesses I found within my planning, was that I should of planned the concept of my film more as I found when I
came to film I struggled to come up with general concept for my film. Another weakness I found was that I didn’t give my
self enough time to produce my own sound effects as I had planned to. If I had been given more time I would spend
more time on my planning and look at existing products to gain more ideas and inspiration when I come to produce my
film.
• The strengths I found in my time management, were that I met all deadlines. I stuck to time management plan
I made within my pre-production, I also used any free time that I had to complete work. I think if I had been
given more time, it would of allowed me to focus on one area and improve it, for example I could of spent
more time on my shots and made them look better. I also could of created the sound effects I wanted for
different scenes with additional time. Overall I think my time management went well and this shows within my
work.
• The weaknesses I found with my time management, were that I didn’t have time to create the sound effects I
wanted to, to use in my film. I think if I had been given more time, I would have been able to do this and this
would of impacted my work in a positive way.

Above find my Short Film.
I have found an existing short film that has similarities of mine, after watching I have seen that the existing film has
a similar title to mine, they have used the title “College Horror Short Film” I have created the title “Horror at
College” other similarity's I have fund is the sound effects that have been used throughout the film are similar to the
ones I have used in mine. Another similar I have found, is more than one actor is used in film. I also have more
than one actor in my film, Another similar I have found is the different camera angels used in this film, close ups,
long shots and medium shots, I have used a number of similar shots within my film. Another Similarity I have found
is that the setting they have chosen to film in an abandoned, empty college which is similar to mine as I have also
chosen to film in college.
The differences I have found after watching the existing film are, the setting they have used to film is slightly
different to mine, only because the college building they have chosen is abandoned and empty. Another difference
I have found is that parts of the film are filmed out side, where mine is all filmed inside. Another difference I have
found is the storyline that the existing film has, the storyline used in the existing one is in no way similar to one I
have created in mine.

effects used throughout the film.

Above find an exciting Short Film similar to mine.
The similarities I have found, after watching the existing film is that
they have the same editing techniques as I have used within my film.
Another, similarity I have found is that they have used the same
cutting skills that I have used within my film.
The differences I have found, after watching the exciting film is that
they have used the “blur effect” in some scenes that I haven't used in
mine, they have also used different focus effects in the film in a
number of scenes.
After watching and listening to my film I have seen aspects that I
would improve, and aspects that I like and think go well with the
theme. I’d change the concept of my film, because when watching it,
its difficult to understand why the characters are preforming certain
actions, and I think as people watch it they will struggle to understand
the storyline, I’d improve this by taking more time I planning my story
concept and see if it’s realistic and more importantly if my audience
will understand, I would also change the sound effects if I had been
given more time to add more realism to my film. The aspects that I
like after watching my film are, I like the sound effects, even though I
didn’t get the time to create my own, the sound effects that I have
found fit well within my film and I know that my audience will be able
to understand the different sounds. I think my film definitely has
elements of creativity, I think the part in my film where the scenes
rewind is creative and different, I think my the viewer will enjoy that.
Overall my film has strengths and weaknesses and I think I have
done well with this product and stuck to the brief I was given.
After finishing my short film, I feel as if I have appealed my film in many
ways to my audience. I have done this by looking back at my survey results
and seeing what my audience wanted in a horror film. I have used different
angels in my film because when #looking at my results that was something
that my audience really wanted to see, I have also tried to act in the most
professional way I could when filming my film as that’s what my audience
most cared for when watching a film. I think my film will appeal to my
audience because the age range are young people that are still in college,
and the setting of my film is in college so they will ultimately connect with
this. I also think the sound effects will appeal to my audience because the
music I have used within my film is modern and popular amongst this age
range.

 What did you like about the product?
 I like the use of sound effects and the choice of music. The rewind part of the film was clever and was effective.
 What improvements could have been made to the product?
 I think that a wider range of camera angle could have been used such as close ups or established long shots.
 What did you like about the product?
 I liked the idea this film had I thought having the rewind effect half way
through the film to show how he should have reacted was a smart
idea and a good way to send a message.
 I also found the sound effects used worked quite well and were in time
with the shot.
 What improvements could have been made to the product?
 I think that more editing and more creativity with premiere could have
been incorporated, also I do not believe this film to really be of the
horror genre.
 What did you like about the product?
 I liked the different angles, and shots that you used.
 What improvements could have been made to the product?
 You could of made it less random, as I didn’t really understand
what was happening.
 What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
 After looking at the feedback I have been given, I agree that after filming and editing, I wouldn’t class my film within the
horror genre. I also agree that I could have been more creative with the editing stage of my production. I also agree that
the rewind effect, that I have used within my film is a nice touch also makes my film look professional. I also agree that
the sound effects I have used fit well with the scenes in the film.
 What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
 After looking at the feedback I have been given I disagree that I could of made it “less random” because I feel as if
my film is understand and that all the scenes fit well together, the sound effects I have used all work well together. I
also disagree that, I could of used a more wide range of camera angles. I believe that I worked hard to make sure I
experimented with as many different angles as I possibly could with the time frame I was given.
 After looking at the feedback I have been given, I would make a few changes to my
product if I had been given more time. The changes I would make are I would spend more
time making my editing more creative by exploring different effects because I think this
would make my film look more professional, I would also change the genre of my film
because according to my feedback my audience didn’t think that my film should be placed
in the horror genre.
