This document discusses different ways to express the concentration of a solution. There are three main types: percentages, parts per million (ppm) and parts per billion (ppb), and molar concentrations. Percentages can be expressed as % volume/volume, % mass/mass, or % mass/volume. Ppm and ppb are used for very low concentrations and relate to parts per million or billion. Molar concentrations express the moles of solute per liter of solution. Calculations are provided for converting between these different concentration units.
