2. Process
• First I created the gradient background,
using one light shade of grey and two
darker shades.
• I changed the angle of the gradient
along the bottom to add the illusion
that the background was real.
• Then I added my main image of Snoop
Dogg and scaled him too the right size.

3. Process
• Here I added my masthead, which I
placed behind the main image and at the
top of the magazine. I also added a drop
shadow to my masthead to give it some
texture.
• I wanted to add some lighting to my main
image, so I added a layer that would only
show what's in front of Snoop. On this
layer, I used a white paintbrush tool to
add sections of light.
• At the bottom of image I placed a small
shadow. I did this by creating an ellipse,
changing its colour to black, then bringing
the opacity down.

4. Process
• I have now placed the logo of ‘Fresh’
clothing company next to my main
image to advertise the brand.
• Underneath the logo I added some text
promoting LBC apparel and posters.
• I also placed a barcode in the bottom
right of my magazine, with the month it
is released above it. The barcode is
necessary for a magazine cover.

5. Process
• Finally I added another sub
heading with some information
about ‘Turf’d Up’ and ‘Beach City’.
• I also placed an image of Snoop’s
app called Snoopify at the bottom
of the magazine.
• I have added the price of the
magazine to the top corner, I have
tried to make it reasonable for a
monthly magazine.

6. Process
• First I set a gradient as the
background colour and added a
large smoke effect with the opacity
turned down. I also placed an
image of Snoop that fills the whole
spread sheet, but I also turned the
opacity down on this as well to add
the effect of it being present in the
background.

7. Process
• Here I added another image of
Snoop in front of the smoke in the
background. The difference in
layers with the images of Snoop,
add different levels to the spread
sheet.
• I have also added a simple title
reading, ‘Snoop Dogg’ at the top
of the spread sheet. Underneath
the title I have written some
information about ‘Turf’d Up’, the
new sports show that Snoop is
presenting. At the beginning of
the text, I changed the starting
letter to a larger size than the
other text. This is a technique
used for other magazine and
newspaper designs.

8. Process
• Here, more writing was added
to the right side of the spread
sheet.
• I added some smaller images to
the spread sheet such as the
NFL logo, ‘Leafs’ by Snoop and
even the ‘Turf’d Up’ logo. The
Turf’d Up logo was originally
rectangular, but after changing
it too a circle, I added a stroke
to it which gives it the black
outline.

9. Process
• On this final image, I added
some quotes from the
celebrity’s that had featured
on the episode of Turf’d Up. I
used a bold strong font for the
names which makes them
stand out. Underneath the
names are the quotes .
• A sub title was added to the
middle right side of the spread
sheet using a bold font, it was
also underlined to add more
emphasis.
• Finally I added the page
number to each bottom
corner, and also an email link.

10. Process
• This is an image that I added to my
contacts page design. I used a
picture of some dj decks, first I
edited out some text and replaced
it with my own.
• The small panel with the text on it
originally was a different colour
and texture, so using the clone
stamp tool, I was able to clean it
up and use the paintbrush to add
the lighting effect.

11. Process
• First I placed my image of Snoop
Dogg on an a4 document.
• I used the gradient tool to create
my background. I made the
gradient fade from light grey to
white and back to light grey,
similar to my magazine cover and
spread sheet background.

12. Process
• Next I added a thin box outline
around the edge of the page. I
then turned the opacity down on
this layer so that the gradient layer
would change the colours slightly.
• I also created a box using the
rectangle marquee tool and added
a similar gradient to it. Then I
added my text in front of the box
and changed the font to suit the
design.

13. Process
• In this slide, I added some text
boxes with details on the
contents. I aligned all the text by
using the ruler guidelines.
• A detail I added to the image of
Snoop was the lighting. To do this
I created a layer in front of the
layer of Snoop, and creating a
clipping mask. This allowed me to
use a large paintbrush tool, and
use it to add spots of lighting.

14. Process
• Finally I added my picture of dj
decks underneath the text that
advertises it.
• To finish it off I added some final
text to the contents list.
