The document discusses the design features of an existing magazine product. On the front cover, they have used a high quality image taken by a professional photographer and edited it with bright colors to attract viewers. The double page spread continues this color scheme for consistency and uses a dark background with white font for readability. The average reader is estimated to be 45 years old and married based on the image chosen.

On the front cover they have blurred the background out of focus on the main image of
the cover. They have done this in order for the viewer to focus on the animal. This image
must have been taken on an expensive camera by a wildlife photographer because of
how good the quality is. Also as the publication is national geographic it is likely to be a
well known photographer or an award winning photograph . They will have edited the
photo in an editing software, most likely photoshop. Also they would probably have a
proforma of the logos and then they can just add them over the top of the main image.
The double page spread has been spread out into one picture. The page that I have
chosen has information and also images on it. There is a big picture with text over the
top of it to explain what is going on in the picture. This is the type of picture that will be
from a well known wildlife photographer or an award winning photo. They have added
text over the part of the water that looks still. What I mean by this is the underwater
part. The camera is half underwater so the water the lens will be sticking out of the top
and also half under to capture above and below the sea level.
The average reader that views the national geographic is 45 years old and married. I
have chosen this picture because this is the average age and also this guy looks like he
will be married and employed.

On the front cover of this magazine they have used a high quality image. This
image would have been taken by a professional photographer or an award
winning image. Also to get this effect on the image it must have been taken with
an expensive camera and probably has been edited as well. They have also used
bright colours to attract the viewers eye so they can try to make them read on.
The creator of the magazine cover has also kept to the same colour scheme and
use a small variety of colours. The font that they have chosen is very bold and
simple so this makes it easier for the viewers to read.

Colour scheme
The double page spread has a dark background and the font is white so the font
stands out and this will make it easier for the viewers to read. Also the fonts that
they have used are very basic but also look professional so
7. Existing Product
I love this type of design for the magazine cover because it is so simple and it sticks
with the same colour scheme. This really helps with making people want to read
the magazine because it will catch peoples eye because the audience can see how
well they have planned out the product. This existing product has a big masthead
at the top of the page. I like the colour that they have chose for this because it
stand out from the main image. White and red go well together especially on a
dark background. The sub heading on this magazine cover tells who the magazine
is about and what is insode of the article. The double page spread has still followed
the same colour scheme that is on the front colour. Im glad that they have done
this because it keeps the magazine look appealing to the eye. Also it is easy to read
text when the background is black and the text is white and vice versa. I think the
audience profile of this magazine would be around 20-30. I think that this age
range would be most interested in boxing and reading a magazine about it.
