2. Started a new document using Adobe Photoshop. Page layout was set to A$ this was chosen
because it is the classic layout style or any magazine.
3. Opened my main image and cut out the required area or my front cover, I did this by using the lasso tool
to cut the outline of the image and then transferred the image to the blank document.
4. Added masthead (using text tool) with temporary backing (using the shape tool) to help it stand out
during production.
5. Removed the mastheads temporary backing and added a gradient to the
page to give the page a varied design, to do this I used the gradient tool.
9. Added strapline but did not use an image until I had an image that suited
the purpose better.
10. Added buzzwords to help attract the audience's attention. The text is
placed on a black background to help separate it from the background.
11. Added barcode to the bottom of the page to make it seem more
professional, the image was found on the internet and later altered to fit
my magazine.
12. Completed barcode. Changed gradient colours and changed the font of the majority of the text on
the cover. Added the image of the band and changed the interview name. Repositioned the cover
lines and sublines. Removed exclamation mark from masthead to give a more professional look.
Enlarged main image so it dominates the page. Moved standfirst to the top of the page and
removed the buzzword at the top of the page.
14. Changed my cover model to someone who suited the genre image better.
Changed ‘HellBlazers’ to ‘HellBlazer’ due to there only being one model. Also
repositioned the coverlines so that they do not clash with the main image.
