Essay on The Evolutionary Ladder to New Media
It started out with the air ways, families sat by the radio sets in their homes waiting for a familiar
voice to greet them with the latest news. A few years later, those airways filled with a new signal, one
that carried thousands of pieces of data that a television set at home would convert to video.
Throughout the innovations in the airwaves, newspapers and print media hung on by a thin line.
However, with the introduction of new forms of media powered by the internet, Fathers do not have to
wait for the morning newspaper to read the headlines. Mothers can keep up with the latest gossip, and
kids can laugh away at videos online. In addition all of this information shoots across the airwaves
within seconds from mobile phones and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
No waiting, instant access, and immediate attention. Driven by the internet powerhouse, knowledge
does not have to wait to spread. Traditional media costs money, and for years, has strategized to keep
itself alive. However, print media s management did not imagine the internet growing to what it has
today. (Shriky) Traditional forms of media such as newspapers and magazines all cost money, money
that the consumer has to spend, and money that publishers have to spend. Knowledge gives power, but
when that knowledge costs even a couple of cents, no consumer wants to pay for it. Why? Because
new media gives people a free way to send knowledge and information.
In new media, the term News not only applies to journalistic accounts, but has rather grown to a single
person s viewpoint or thought. In the wake of the terrorist attacks on September 11th 2001, new media
paved the way for people to connect in unity and get the latest news. Editor and journalist Neal
Morton remarked, with the net, now we go and find the news...We go out and discuss various
viewpoints [ourselves], (Morton). New media has not only given power to the journalist, but to the
individual. To face the facts; journalists, editors, and writers all represent what Kendyl Salcito and
many others describe as Gatekeepers . In old print media, editors and writers stand in charge of what
gets published and what information goes out to the public, and typically this power creates a bias.

Vitamin D Supplementation
Multiple Sclerosis is a disease which affects neurons in the central nervous system. It erodes the
myelin sheath that covers the axons of the neurons. As such, the transmission of nerve signals does not
occur as efficiently as it should. The myelin sheath gets disintegrated due to an autoimmune disease,
where the immune system attacks its own tissue rather than foreign tissue.
Research conducted shows that there is a correlation between multiple sclerosis and people s
geographical location. People who live closer to the equator are less likely to get multiple sclerosis,
whereas people who live further away from the equator have a greater chance of getting it. One reason
for this explanation is that sunlight is rich in Vitamin D and there is more sunlight near the equator,
compared to areas further away from the equator. As a result, lack of Vitamin D may be responsible
for the onset of multiple sclerosis.
If a person is deficient in Vitamin D, they may have a greater chance of getting this disease. One area
of key interest is that in patients who have this disease, can enhancing the uptake of Vitamin D

Is it thought that Vitamin D supplementation will help alleviate the symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis.
The procedure for doing this research can be as follows. A total of 100 patients who have Multiple
Sclerosis would be subjected to this test where half of the patients would be given a tablet which has
Vitamin D in it while the other 50 patients will be given a tablet which would be a placebo. The
placebo is the control to make sure no other factors are influencing the symptom s of multiple
sclerosis. There will be approximately 100 patients who will be tested. Out of these 100 patients, 50
(group A) will be given Vitamin D tablets, while the other 50 (group B) will be given the placebo

Compare And Contrast The Classical Production Approach
Schoors et al. (2010) state that according to the classical production approach total deposits and total
loans are treated as output, and labour and physical capital are used as inputs. As we cite Ferrier and
Lovell (1990) emph { The production approach views banks as producing demand deposits, time and
savings deposits, commercial loans, real estate loans, and instalment loans, using capital, labor, and
materials to do so. } Next to this classical production approach, Schoor et al. (2010) mention the
intermediation approach introduced by Sealey and Lindley (1977) in their paper: emph{ Inputs,
outputs, and a theory of production and cost at depository financial institutions. } In this paper they
introduce earning assets as outputs and deposits as inputs. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the research paper of Schoors et al. (2010), they prefer the classic production approach because in
the intermediation approach, the deposits are neglected as an import output. In order to follow our
own rationale, we prefer to apply the classic production approach since deposits are neglected in the
intermediation approach and our dataset consists only out of deposit banks. Also Ferrier and Lovell
(1990) argue using the production approach if you are measuring the cost efficiency of banks because
it takes only the operating costs of banking into account. On the other hand, the intermediation
approach is preferable if you want to investigate the viability of banks since it is concerned with the
overall costs of banking. But since we want to conduct a comprehensive and thorough research on this
subject, we will also include a stochastic frontier model based on the intermediation approach inputs
and outputs in our robustness checks

War Is Kind Analysis
War is seen as disturbing, violent, depressing and stressful. Although some may think of it as
honorable or may even welcome their own death in a war because of the glory that can come with it,
others believe in the protest against the brutal acts of war. Several writers such as Stephen Crane,
Wilfred Owen, Tim O Brien, and Kevin Powers are especially known to protest against war through
their forms of writing. In order to strengthen their arguments and persuade audiences to prevent acts of
war, they use techniques such as imagery, irony and structure to reveal the disturbing truths behind
war. Imagery is one of the most powerful tools that writers try to use when protesting war because it
serves as a simpler way to present clearer images ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although structure is a complex tool to use when trying to support an argument, it can serve as one of
the most impactful tools that authors can use because it is sets up their form of writing and presents
the audience with a specific style. The style that is created from the writer s structure is what affects
the reader s mindset on the topic of the writing. For example, if a writing s structure is set up like a
list, then the reader is most likely going to believe that the author is just trying to get to each of his or
her points without trying to make the reader feel any emotion and so their writing is going to sound
dull or bland. The Things They Carried by Tim O Brien has a structure set up just like that type of list.
His list consists of the necessities that soldiers carried to war such as P 38 can openers, pocket knives,
heat tabs, wristwatches, dog tags, mosquito repellent, chewing gum, candy, cigarettes, salt tablets,
packets of Kool Aid, lighters, matches, sewing kits, Military Payment Certificates, C rations, and two
or three canteens of water (2). O Brien uses a list to help create his structure by implying that most of
this equipment can not help them and the tone it creates is straightforward to imply the dull aspects of
war. O Brien also uses parallel structure with his lists to emphasize the items they carried by creating a
feeling of repetitiveness.

Analysis Of Chapter 13 Holme
In chapter thirteen holmes is impressed with how good stapleton is under pressure. But holmes can t
really prove any of his theories in a court of law yet. Holmes thinks Laura lyons will be the one to
finish this case. Watson bring holmes to baskerville hall and sir henry is happy he s there. Watson tells
the barrymores that selden is dead. And holmes tells sir henry he can crack the case as long as sir
henry follows his exact instructions with no questions. Suddenly holmes gets up to study a painting of
a man in black velvet and lace and its end up being hugo baskerville the first guy to be killed by the
hound. After dinner holmes shows watson that hugo look ALOT like stapleton which leaves them to

Watson spies through the dining room window where sir henry and stapleton are sitting together
smoking. The mire is covered in fog which suck because it puts sir henry s life 88% more in danger.
The men hear sir henry leaving the house right then they hear a pattering feet. A giant black hound
covered in flames with fire coming out of its mouth is running towards sir henry. Holmes and watson
shoot at the dog and hit it but it keeps running. The dog leaps at sir henry and starts biting him but
holmes gets there just in time and empties his gun in the dog the dog dies and sir henry faints. Holmes
and watson inspect the dog which has glowing chemicals on it. Then they go after stapleton they break
into a locked room back at him house and find beryl tied up she explains that he had been abusing her
and using her to lure sir henry. Beryl tells them about his hiding place in the mire but they can t go till
the fog dies down. So they all go the next morning on the way in holmes spots sir henry s boot which
stapleton must have been using to train the dog. But they don t find anymore signs of him. They think
while running in the fog he must ve fallen and died. They find traces of the dog though like the

Medical Information And Health Care
Individuals and patients who do not understand medical information that is presented to them face
various difficulties such as access to health care network, understanding of treatments,
recommendations, and instructions. It this paper, the writer describes the formulation of the policy that
helps to improve patient health literacy, communication, and information that related to health issues.
Also, describes the evidence that needs to formulate a policy, alternatives, and selection criteria of
policy, and its outcome.
Problem context: patients who have limited knowledge of medical information may face difficulty in

Evidence of needed policy:
Evidence showed that only 12% of Americans are able to demonstrate an adequate level of health
literacy, resulting an additional $73 billion health care cost annually because of more medication,
more hospital visits, longer hospital stay, and unable to acquire necessary health services due to lack
of needed skills (Egbert Nanna, 2009). Another reason for needing the policy is to support and fulfill
the Healthy People 2020 national goal of improving health communication, and interaction between
care providers and patients, and improve shared decision making (Koh, Brach, Harris, Parchman,
2013). More than 23 million Americans have limited English proficiency resulting in low level of
health literacy; similarly, average Americans only have capability of reading 5th grade level, therefore,
we strongly need a policy that establishes the information and communication system as simple,
attractive, and relevant in order to effectively educate patients (Center for Health Care Strategies
(CHCS), 2013).
Alternatives:
There is various way we communicate and

Analysis Of The Film Waltz With Bashir
What are you insecure about? Every individual has at least one insecurity that they internally battle
with every day. For example, some may be embarrassed of their physical appearance, which may lead
to low self esteem. Others may be socially awkward and some may even be insecure about their
financial status. Social anxiety and insecurities have rose among Israelis and Palestinians throughout
recent years. In the Television Show, Arab Labor, viewers were shown the personal identity issues that
the main character, Amjad, battled with. The personality of Israelis and Palestinians has affected their
vulnerability to certain situations following the 2009 Gaza Conflict. They have faced distressing
repercussions from war such as posttraumatic stress disorder. In the film, Waltz with Bashir, a young
man struggles with reoccurring dreams that stemmed from his time as a solider in the 1982 Lebanon
War. Just like any individual on this earth, Israelis and Palestinians face social anxiety and battle with
insecurities every day from certain events that affect the way they carry out their everyday lives. In the
Television Show, Arab Labor, the main character, Amjad, battles with insecurities with his own
personal identity. Amjad is an Israeli born, Palestinian journalist in search of his identity. He has faced
religious, cultural, and political differences that cause him to be insecure. Amjad felt like he stuck out
like a sore thumb in life. Amjad wanted more than anything

Herman Melville s Bartleby As A Scrivener
In Herman Melville s Bartleby, most of the characters either fall on the spectrum of desiring power or
submitting to the power of others. However, the title character, Bartleby, manages to avoid either of
those positions, and instead denounces any kind of power. Bartleby s passive resistance to his work on
Wall St. is his way of attempting to break free not just from the authority of the Lawyer, but the
authority of conventional society as a whole. The form of resistance Bartleby takes erupts from the
disillusionment regarding his work as a scrivener. In the beginning, he is a hard worker, arguably an
ideal employee. Yet, the more his work dehumanizes him, the more he disconnects from any authority.
Instead of actively rebelling, however,

Impressionism And Its Impression On Modern Art
Impressionism And its Impression on Modern Art
One of the earliest forms of communication and documentation was art, from cave paintings, to
Egyptian Hieroglyphs, to Renaissance portraits. Throughout the beginning of time, artistic style has
evolved, and is still continuing to evolve. One early impact on Modern Art was Impressionism.
Impressionism was defined as French nineteenth century art movement between 1867 and 1886 that
marks the momentary break from tradition in European painting. In the middle of the nineteenth
century the Academie des Beaux Arts dominated French arts. The Academie was the preserver of
traditional French painting standards of content and style. Historical subjects, religious themes, and
portraits were valued; Landscapes and still lifes were not. The Academie preferred carefully finished
images that look realistic when examined closely. Paintings in the style were made up with precise
brush strokes carefully blended to hide the artist hands in their work. Color was restrained and were
often toned down farther by using a gold varnish. The Academie held an annual art show called the
Salon de Paris. In the early 1860 s four young painters Claude Monet, Pierre Auguste Renoir, Alfred
Sisley, and Frederic Bazille met while studying under the academic artist, Charles Gleyre. They
discovered that they shared an interest in painting landscapes and contemporary life rather than
historical or mythological scenes. During the 1860 s the Salon rejected many

Narrative Essay On Cancer
March 15th, 2010, was a completely normal day. As normal as any day is for a twelve year old
homeschooler. I was home with my oldest sister Brittany who was twenty at the time and I was just
finishing up my homework for the day. After finishing up my math work I went to go watch television
in the living room. Brittany was in her room and my parents didn t get home until later because of
work. A few hours into my movie, my stomach started to hurt. Since I was twelve I didn t no the
differences of pain so I just left it alone for a while. Later in the day my abdomen was aching so much
I couldn t even get off the couch. After wailing for Brittany to call Mom I was sent to the emergency
room in an ambulance with severe abdomen pain. After several hours in the ER and multiple tests,
doctors found nothing. I was sent home and was told to take Tylenol for the pain. Once I got home, it
didn t hurt anymore so I thought they were right and that I could just go on with my crazy life as a

diagnosis. And my mom had thyroid cancer only a few years ago and is a survivor. Since there is

Unintended Consequences
Pity from the Holocaust
A common argument for the Holocaust s causation in the creation of Israel and generous partition of
Palestine is the potential for nations to pity the Jews for their suffering. In truth, Zionism wasn t
offered any gains by the Holocaust. Not only was the genocide irrelevant to the argument of Zionism
to the rest of the world, but it also couldn t be pitied, as it was not yet understood. Overall, the
Palestine question and it was just that: a question regarding Palestine, not Israel was answered based
on the state of events in the Middle East. The events of the Holocaust in Europe were largely, if not
entirely, unrelated to the partition and eventual Zionist success in the region, and were only minutely

Israel is still a dynamic body. It manifests the very concept that clever management and tact are
inescapably valuable in all aspects of life, and if used correctly can be cast into resounding successes
from life s challenges. Attempting to achieve one s goals without consideration of others, additionally,
can be a grave mistake. It can harm entities in the surroundings without one even knowing it and
become a failure from a result that was a success in all other aspects.
The effects of the creation of Israel are still important today. The support of Israel from the United
States as well as the Partition and the creation of the State itself are sticking points with Arab nations
presently. The war of 47 and 48 is still a travesty for the Palestinians. Arabs were rife with sorrow
following their hopeless stance. They ve given the conflict the name ad naqba, or the
disaster/catastrophe (Altman 84, qtd. Tessler). The lives of Arabs, they argue, were inalterably
corrupted and defiled by the influx of external influence in the region, and they argue that the creation
of Israel was an event that both should never have happened and should be protested and fought
against. Immell states, [A] significant problem created by Israel s rise to independence is the lasting ill
will and anger that it created among Arab nations.

Childhood Obesity Is A Growing Epidemic
Childhood obesity is a growing epidemic. The UK has estimated through their schools National Child
Measurement Program that one third of the children there are overweight, and by 2050 that number
could rise to an alarming two thirds (Phillips 2). There are many uncontrollable factors in childhood
obesity such as the environment, income and genetics. However, parents are the most overlooked
factor. Our children s futures, with regard to their eating habits, are in the hands of their parents.
Ultimately, children grow into adults who make their own choices, but parents can have a positive
effect on the children s health in their childhood. By focusing on the parental factor, an immense
decrease in childhood obesity is obtainable. Parents must consider how the environment they choose
to raise their child in can affect their child s health. In rural environments, people can live off of
healthy, home grown food. If a child lives in the city, parents may have a harder time finding healthy,
affordable options for their family. For example, when comparing cities like Atlanta, Georgia to a rural
farm town like Jesup, Georgia, it is apparent that bigger cities lack resources that would keep
vegetables fresh and on hand at all times. Nevertheless, parents would still need to opt for these
healthier choices, instead of processed food or fast food. Even if these options are available, the major
concern parents have is whether they can afford buying healthier alternatives which

Chiricahua Fort Sill Apaches.
.
Chiricahua Fort Sill Apaches The Chiricahua band of the larger Apache tribe was fractured through
attempted assimilation by the United States government. The attempted assimilation of a regionally
nomadic people whose entire society spiritually and culturally is based upon ties to nature leads to an
eventual violent reaction by a portion of the tribe, through propagation of fear and political pressure
the entire band is taken into custody with prisoner of war status. Eventually this status will define and
even give way to the only federally created tribe, a unique distinction created through a federal over
reach of power that can be considered genocidal in nature. This tribe is known as the Fort Sill

In order to understand the Chiricahua band of the Apaches the land from which they come must be

Dehumanization In The Movie The Mission
In the movie, The Mission, the Jesuit Priest, Father Gabriel, played by Jeremy Lyons, in an effort to
liberate the Guarani people by proselytizing them to Christianity, becomes their oppressor by
changing their natural beliefs and practices. While his intentions are meritorious, they display another
form of colonialism and oppression. He does learn the Guarani language. However, this appears to be
only as an attempt to teach them his way or the Jesuit way. Instead of learning the Guarani culture and
assimilating therein, he attempts to convert them to European culture. As an example he teaches them
music, which they had no knowledge of prior to his coming. He decides what is best for the people
and what they should learn. In one of the earliest scenes in the movie the people did not wear clothes.
Later on, we see the Guarani fully clothed, which was an indication that the priests taught them that
they should wear clothes. Prior to his coming, the Guarani could be said to be in a Garden of Eden

He did not view the Guarani as human beings. In the Pedagogy of the Oppressed, Paulo Freire uses
the term dehumanization to describe both those whose humanity has been stolen and also those who
have stolen it (Freire, 44.) We find dehumanization throughout history. African Americans were not
considered fully human during the period of slavery and for much of the 20th century. In the United
States, oppression of African Americans and other minorities continues today. I disagree with Freire
that oppression affects both the oppressor and the oppressed. He says that the oppressor, who is him or
herself dehumanized because he/she dehumanizes others (Freire 47.) In my opinion, the oppressor
does not view him or herself as dehumanized. The oppressors see themselves as fully vindicated
because they are superior

The Use Of Polymers
Ever since the first polymer was fabricated in 1907, scientists have been seeking new applications for
classic polymers (Brewer, 2006). Recently, in 2010, an enhanced structure of the photovoltaic cell
(PVC) was proposed: synthesising new polymers from regular polymers for advanced donating and
electron accepting (D A) moieties in PVCs (Mike et al., 2010). Also, in 2005, another additional
application for traditional polymers has been discovered. By adding cinnamic acid to a flexible
polymer, a material is produced which changes shape in response to different wavelengths of
ultraviolet (UV) light (Lendlein, 2005). Hence, an old polymer can be taught new applications and
tricks if modified in some way. Polymers, known as plastics, are ... Show more content on

Likewise, polybenzobisoxazoles (PBBO)s, found in zylon, are multifunctional materials commonly
applied in electrical structures for their high tensile strength, thermal stability, efficient electron
transport, and high electron affinity (Intemann et al., 2011). So, when the thiophene and
benzobisoxazoles (BBO)s from these compounds are combined with other molecules such as
aldehydes, and two new polymers, namely poly[(3,4 didodecylthiopene vinylene) alt benzo[1,2 d;5,4 d
] bisoxazole] 2,6 diyl (PTVcBBO) and poly[(3,4 didodecylthiopene vinylene) alt benzo[1,2 d;4,5 d
]bisoxazole] 2,6 diyl (PTVtBBO) are formed, D A moieties with a low band gap and high electron
transfer are produced (Kim et al., 2015). These moieties are then used to enhance PVC efficiency and
electron transfer. Firstly, the direct conversion of sunlight into energy using PVCs has been recognised
as an imperative component of future global energy production. As a result of their optical and
electrical properties, conjugated organic materials are being suggested to replace inorganic materials
in PVCs due to their ability to manipulate their electron properties through chemical synthesis (Mike
et al., 2010). So, to improve the electrical properties of regular PVCs, the band gap (the energy
difference between the top of the valence band and the bottom of the conduction band) must be
lowered

St Augustine Research Paper
Saint Augustine is undoubtedly one, if not, the most important theologian in church history. His
writings have greatly influenced Christian theology and understanding of God. Saint Augustine laid
out some theological doctrine that has helped shaped Christian s perceptions of sin, grace and
salvation. Ironically, some of his theological postulation emerges from his controversies with different
opposing camps on the aforementioned subjects. However, in this paper, the primary focus will be on
his controversy with the Pelegians. The Pelagians taught that God s given grace before the fall,
combined with the willingness of man to choose good over evil, is enough to earn man salvation. The
Pelagius position places emphasis on man s ability to work out his own salvation, ... Show more

It is obvious from The Confession that Augustine was a man who struggled endlessly to extricate
himself from the bondage of sin, but the more he tried, the more he failed and sinks deeper into its
abyss. And with every failure, comes a sense of disappointment and despondency, until he had a
strange experience. In AD 386, while sitting in his garden, Augustine heard a voice from some

The Loudest Voice Paley Summary
The Loudest Voice is a short story about the struggles of a girl who faces the battle of an overly
controlling parent. The author, Grace Paley, argues that Shirley should be in control of her own life.
Shirley is invited to narrate a Christmas themed play. This goes against her mom s religious beliefs,
which leads to arguments between Shirley s parents because her father disagrees. Her father argues
that Shirley should have freedom of choice in her actions, while her mother argues that Shirley does
not know what s right yet. In the end, Shirley acts in the play. Ms. Paley shows that Shirley has
freedom of choice, but it comes at a cost. The central theme of the story is Shirley has to decide
whether she chooses change vs. tradition. Shirley s mom is conflicted by the thought of having her
Jewish daughter be anywhere near the school s Christian play. She is a Jewish immigrant who has
worked so hard to get where she is today. Shirley was chosen because she had the loudest voice, but
Shirley s mom does not want her to participate because it will influence her into a Christian mindset.
She doesn t want her Jewish daughter to forget her Jewish heritage and traditions. ... Show more

from the happy chorus of my inside self, not a title or a jot. Later in the story, she is opening up in
school which symbolizes her way of finding her voice. She feels happy that she is in control for once,
even the teacher acknowledges her sense of control. Shirley has her issues, her friends are strangers in
New York, Shirley can t speak English well like the rest of the Jewish children she even has to narrate
carefully during the play. But in the end the reader learns that

Laurence Olivier directed and starred in it himself as a patriotic call to the barricades. Olivier greatly
aspired to become one of the greatest actors of the twentieth century. His attempt in the role of the
main character Henry was nothing short of this by delivering an epic performance in the midst of a
gay, colourful depiction of battle. Kenneth Branagh s production (1989) attempted greater realism in
the battle scenes and focused more on Henry s inner conflicts. There was not as much emphasis on the
patriotic elements of the play as in Olivier s. Branagh s film was constructed many years after Olivier
s predominant original when it was considered a classic. Olivier created a total advance in
Shakespearean film and gave dawn to colour filming. A young Branagh would have to direct and act
admirably to stand alongside the preceding version. He would have to successfully comply as a
Shakespearean actor to take the familiar and make it new . Branagh heavily scrutinised Olivier s epic
work, employing and enhancing many of the methods Olivier inspired and developed, causing
Branagh s film to be labelled sometimes as an emulation. Still there is an obvious (yet often subtle)
extent to which Branagh tries

Workchoices Act Australia
1.1 GOVERNMENT AND ORGANISATIONAL INPUT Ryan and Herod (2006, p.494) indicates that
the WorkChoices act contributed to the decline of union membership in Australia. Prior to the
commencement of the act, the rights of employers and employees were regulated by industrial
tribunals, unions and employment associations. It is detailed that the primary intentions of the
WorkChoices act was to limit the power and influence of unions and support individual bargaining in
contractual agreements. It is also argued that regulations could only be altered or changed by these
counterparts, with the input of lawyers (Bray and Waring 2006, p.46), which proved to be time
consuming (Howe 2013, p.138). In addition to this, it is highlighted that many employment ... Show

members have a stronger voice in negotiating benefits, such as work hours, health insurance and sick

E. B. White Pig
In Death of a Pig , E.B. White discusses the experiences of raising a sick pig. White s attitude about
his pig dying expresses that he did not believe it was ethically right for the pig to suffer unnecessarily.
Whites experience with his sick pig reflects his feelings about the tragedy of animals suffering. When
his pig becomes ill he expresses empathy to the pig, knowing that the pig is suffering. White sees the
pig dying as a tragic loss and regrets that the pig did not live a healthy life. He has an animal burial to
mourn the loss of his pig, but becomes melodramatic about his sympathy for the pig because of his
original plan was to slaughter the pig.

Chemical filled water? No thank you! It was has been said that New Zealand s water supplies are

plastics and toothpaste. From these byproducts, diseases such as, Cancers, Skeletal Fluorosis and
Dental Fluorosis are more likely to occur. There have also been studies that children s IQ s lower over

Essay on Alternative Sources of Energy
ESSAY ON ALTERNATIVE SOURCES OF ENERGY
The law of conservation says that energy is neither created nor destroyed. When we use energy, it
doesn t disappear. We change it from one form of energy into another. A car engine burns gasoline,
converting the chemical energy in gasoline into mechanical energy. Solar cells change radiant energy
into electrical energy. Energy changes form, but the total amount of energy in the universe stays the
same. Scientists at the Department of Energy think they have discovered a mysterious new form of
energy called dark energy that is actually causing the universe to grow!
The simplest way to define energy is said by: the capacity to do work by moving matter against an

CNG ranks relatively high in convenience and availability. CNG may be the preferred clean,
alternative fuel for use in vehicles to travel on specified routes, such as delivery trucks, and return to a

fuel that is used by stoves, water heaters and clothes dryers stored in cylinders at pressures of 2,000 to
3,500 pounds per square inch. Compressed natural gas is used in light duty passenger vehicles and
pickup trucks, medium duty delivery trucks, and in transit and school buses. LNG, on the other hand,
is favored for heavy duty applications, such as transit buses, train locomotives and long haul semi

Fossil fuels come under non renewable sources of energy because we burn the fossil fuel to obtain
coal, oil, natural gas, petrol and etc and one day these resources will get over. Nevertheless, these
fossil fuels also cause global warming because of the increasing soil and air pollution on burning.
Take for example the case of our city Power Station which runs on coal. A fuel that is obtained from
wood, by chopping tress and leads to deforestation. This fuel is also difficult and hence expensive to

Negative Effects Of Golf
To this day, golf is one of two sports to be played on the moon along with the Javelin throw. Apollo 14
member Alan Shepard pulled out a makeshift six iron he smuggled on board and hit two golf balls on
the lunar surface, becoming the first and only person to play golf anywhere other than Earth. Golf
originated in Scotland and has since changed exponentially. Scotlander s would hit the ball with
wooden clubs. Now, golfer s use the most forgiving metal clubs available and spend as much time at
the gym as they do chipping. Today s professionals are gym rats that continue to thrive for perfect

The discussion of questioning golf s status as a sport de legitimizes it s $975 million dollar industry,

Love is not a physical thing that can be utilized in the world for it does not provide health, shelter, and

Without love, some men are emotionally affected to the point they would rather die than to live
without it. For this reason, Millay tells that love is valuable even though it does not provide the
necessity needed to survive. Millay states that Yet a man is making friends with death / Even as I
speak, for lack of love alone (7 8). Millay is verbally telling her readers that even though love is not a
physical thing that is needed to stay alive, many would prefer to die than not have love. The word yet
from the line gives an effect that emphasizes that love has some values in it. It can be said that to men
that death is much friendlier if one does not have love. Millay is telling us that due to the lack of love
that men do not have, she knows that love is causing men to die. Men are dying due to the lack of
love, causing men to rather die than live without it. The personification that is used is giving
characteristics to death such as a death befriending man. It is suggesting that love is more valuable
than what Millay thought it would be by that men keep dying because they do not have love.
Generally speaking, love is something men would die for even if it isn t a physical thing. Love may
not a physical thing yet it may cause health problems and in addition, gives us a better understanding

submit proof to INS. This proof must show that the couple has been
living together and submitted ninety days prior to the second
anniversary. If the couple fails to establish that the marriage is valid,
the non citizen will not become a lawful permanent resident and will
be faced with and order of deportation. The only exception, is that

7 Zip
First, I downloaded and installed 7 Zip from the developer s website (www.7zip.org) onto the
Windows 10 virtual machine. Next, I created four documents to be encrypted with the various
programs. Each file contained a line of text describing the program doing the archiving/encryption.
These documents were placed in a folder on the desktop for easy access. For Example:
In order to encrypt the file using 7 zip, I right clicked the file and selected: Add to Archive. From
there, I changed the archive format from .7z to .zip, selected AES 256 as the encryption method, and
used a password of Pa$$word.
Finally, here is a screenshot showing a partial sample ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Issues in Retail Management
Issues in Retail Management
The choice of a suitable retail category to investigate the issues affecting the retail environment is
crucial, and it should be representational in nature. This is essential because the rest of the retail
categories can apply the recommendations for overcoming the issues. The retail category that can be
useful in exploring the issues affecting module themes of global and international retailing,
sustainability and ethics, and technology and retailing is foodstuffs and consumables. This retail
category is at a better position to explore the module themes because it has a broad market. For
instance, it is also essential to note there are no geographical barriers restricting people on the food
that they consume, sustainability is an important aspect of foodstuffs and consumables category, and
the use of technology in retailing has had a significant impact on the retail category.
In addition, there are ethical issues that affect the retail of foodstuffs and consumables that retailers
need to address in order to achieve a competitive edge in the market. This retail category represents
the rest of the categories because all issues relating to all the themes of the module affect it and any
recommendations from this examination may be useful to the rest of the retail categories.
A number of issues have an influence on the three themes of retailing, and these issues can affect the
retailing industry as a whole. For the global and international

Define Ethics In Health Care
Ethics can be described as being a concept or principle that describes human behavior. The meaning of
ethic s is hard to define; people have their own thoughts about what ethics is about. The word ethics
often times is a link with law or religion. Both of these have more to do with society standards than
one s own behavior. Ethics is based on grounded values of right and wrong that advise what people
should do. Moreover, you can relate ethics to fairness or specific virtues. Ethics can also be designated
as values that impose the rational responsibilities to refrain from harming, stealing or killing. Ethics is
the study of universal values that consist of equality, natural rights, obedience with the concern of
health and safety. Additionally, ethics is a study of one s own standards with the development of one s
own values and moral beliefs. Ethic s means unremitting struggle of ... Show more content on

When we talk about health care ethics involving patients, it brings upon challenging principles in the
health arena. There are four main principles that define the ethical duties within healthcare they are:
autonomy, beneficence, non maleficence and justice. These principles are in effect at all times within
the care of the patient in any health care setting. (Health Care Ethics: Overview of the Basics, 2011)
The most important of those principles is non maleficence, which means do no harm. It is the
foundation of medical ethics and part of the physician oath. In all situations, a provider should not
cause any harm or put a patient in harm s way. The principle of non maleficence entails the purpose of
circumventing needless harm or injury that can happen through acts of commission or omission. In
simple language, it can be thought of as act of negligence if you enact a careless or arbitrary risk of
harm upon another. (Runzheimer Larsen,

Effect of Temperature on an Enzyme in Hydgrogen Peroxide...
Effect of Temperature on an Enzyme in Hydgrogen Peroxide
Introduction.
The aim of this investigation is to find out how temperature affects the speed at which the
enzyme,Catalase, works best in Hydrogen Peroxide.I hope to achieve reliable results that will confirm
my predictions.
I predict that:
· By increasing the temperature of the Hydrogen Peroxide, the Catalase will react faster. This is
because the particles have more energy so they will move and react at a faster rate.
· At about 40c, the Catalase will start to deteriorate because the substrate no longer fits the enzyme
making the enzyme useless.
· I predict that the enzyme will work at its best at 37c because that is ... Show more content on

I know that with a rise of 10c the rate of reaction will be doubled in a single cell. This is because the
particles are moving faster due to the increase of energy(rate of reactions). As soon as the temperature
becomes too high, the enzyme will become denatured, meaning that the enzyme will no longer fit the
substrate and at this point the rate of reaction slows down rapidly and eventually the enzyme becomes
useless.
I hope to find the temperature at which the enzyme performs best and the temperature at which the
rate of reaction slows down showing the enzyme has become denatured.
An enzyme is a biological catalyst which alters the rate of reaction without being changed itself.
Enzymes are proteins;they have very precise three dimensional shape, which forms a one specific
active site on the enzyme. Each enzyme can only convert one kind of

Reflection On Entrepreneurship
In the world of tutoring, there are an abundant amount of ways that one can go about teaching a
student. Although this is true, there are some ways that tend to work better than others. Tutoring has a
large amount of do s and don ts that we as tutors should make sure we take into account before we
begin our interaction with the students to which we are tutoring. Before coming into this internship, I
had a very general knowledge of tutoring, as I have been a tutor in previous years. After this week s
reading and videos that were assigned, I have gained a deeper knowledge of what exactly is expected
out of a tutor in and out of every session. Before diving into this week s reading and videos, there
were already aspects of being a tutor that I knew were required. This would include: having a plan
before every tutoring session and being patient with every student that you tutor. When it comes to
having a plan before every tutoring session, I feel like that is something that is one of the most
important aspects of being a successful tutor. When, as a tutor, you know the student you are working
with, it is beneficial to make sure that you prepare ahead of time for the session with that student. If
the student has provided you beforehand with the topics and papers that they are wanting to work, it is
imperative to look into them and start working on revising them before you meet with the student. If
you do this, and you know ahead of time what exactly you are needing to speak with the student
about, you will be able to use your allotted time efficiently. As a tutor, if you go about this approach
with any and every session that you can, you will be able to provide each student that you are able to
tutor. Patience is also something that is extremely useful and needed in tutoring. Often times, a student
will not understand what you are trying to teach them the first time. If you go about this in a negative
way, no learning from the student will be able to be had. Although that is true, if you approach each
session with an ample amount of patience, you will be able to teach the student the different subjects
that you are intending on teaching them. Without patience, trying to be a tutor is virtually impossible.

Francisco Perón s Breaches
Without trade, he basically took away many of the potential buyers of their once flourishing export
commodities. Another of Perón s breaches of the ten principles of economics is governments can
sometimes improve market outcomes; when the government seized public lands along with price and
wage restrictions, these actions caused a tremendous imbalance of the invisible hand of supply and
demand in their markets. It is critical that a government enforces property rights, so that a person can
own and control scarce resources (Mankiw, 2015, p. 12). It is unfortunate that a once powerful and
economically stable country like Argentina lost its power and standard of living due to misuse and
frankly, abuse of socialized programs.

GDP is used to measure the market value of a country s goods and services over a specific time
period. The GDP is made up of four components: Consumption, investment, government purchases
and net exports (exports imports). There are a few portions of GDP directly related to socialism. The
first, and most obvious, is government purchases. In a socialist society, the government would control
much of a country s social services like welfare, social security, etc. These social services would be
paid for by collecting tax from peoples, products, and services within a country. Many of the social
services provided and paid for are not considered part of the GDP, instead they are considered transfer
payments, because social program payments are not made for a good or service being produced by a
country. From a macroeconomic viewpoint transfer payments are like negative taxes to the GDP
(Mankiw, 2015, p. 202); therefore, increasing the social services within a country would reduce a
country s GDP. Another issue to discuss regarding socialism is state funded education. A teacher s
salary is considered government expenses in the GDP; however, the price of state funded education
would be considered a social tax and therefore a transfer payment. Although the initial cost of funding
education may be a drain on the GDP, in the long run the production gained from more people
receiving post high school education would hopefully counter any of the negative costs to GDP and
actually be a gain from the increased goods and

Sigmund Freud s Psychoanalysis and the Characters in Amy...
Amy Sherman Palladino, the creator of Gilmore Girls, essentially wrote the show about nothing. After
not having a job for years, Sherman had writer s block. On television, everything she saw seemed the
same, identical characters and paralleling plots, she desired to create something different. Once, she
had visited the small town of Washington, Connecticut and loved the everyone knows everything idea.
So she thought, Why not make a show about it? After tweaks by the production company, Gilmore
Girls was born. Although it is a show about a single mom, by nitpicking through character s witty
banter, one can see the philosophical aspects of the show. One of Sherman s main goals was to create
no analogous characters. In this attempt, she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eventually, Luke and Lorelai begin to date. When Luke discovers that Lorelai has been dishonest with
him, they break up. When she tries to confront him, Luke tells her that he just needs some time to
think and to leave him alone. Lorelai spirals into a deep depression, constantly breaks down crying,
and stays in bed for days at a time. In a later episode, Say Something, she makes a rash decision and
calls Luke. She leaves an impetuous message on his answering machine, begging him to come over,
because she needs to see him. When referring to the id, Freud says, It has no organization, produces no
collective will, but only a striving to bring about the satisfaction of the instinctual needs subject to the
observance of the pleasure principle (Freud PG #). In this situation, Lorelai does not consider the fact
that Luke told her not to call for a reason; she disregards everyone else s wishes and only thinks of
what will please her at the moment. Later on in the series, she starts seeing Christopher, Rory s father,
again. Christopher takes her on a vacation to Paris, and Lorelai is reminded of the great memories that
they had together. Out of nowhere, Christopher proposes. She is then faced with a decision to make:
should she marry him in Paris, because she knows that she will likely back out when they return to
Stars Hollow, or should she wait to marry him because she wants to share the moment with her family
and friends. In Sigmund Freud,

Ender s Game Film Analysis
Can you imagine a future where one must be connected to the Internet in order to function in society?
Will there come a day when everyone and everything will be constantly monitored and tracked by the
government? These futuristic prospects are often related to scenes from science fiction films, where
many visions of the future are adapted to create an advanced society. In these films, innovations in
technology is usually the focus point, where audiences explore what life would be like and the effects
of technology in a futuristic society.
One such film that displays the use of advanced technology well is Ender s Game , directed by Gavin
Hood. This film holds up a mirror to today s society as the rising use of advanced technology is a

If the individual s information isn t securely stored, what horrendous consequences might follow, with
the information in the hands of criminals, extortionist, hackers, terrorists and the like?
However, according to one survey, approximately one fourth of all professionals between 18 to 50
years of age would like to directly connect their brains to the Internet. In near future, they are not
going to have to force most of us to get a microchip implanted on the back of our head. We will do it
eagerly, yet no one will ever even stop to consider the potential for abuse. This makes us question,
Will fiction ever become fact?
Today, the Internet has become such an integral part in our lives that it is hard to remember how we
ever survived without it. And with each passing year, the number of devices connected to the Internet
continues to grow at an exponential rate. However, we just cannot help ourselves. Our society has a
love of affair with new technology. And some of the things that are being developed right now are
beyond what most of us ever dreamed of possible. In matter of time, governments all over the world
will have the ability to continually monitor and track the activities of everyone under their power at all
times. Do we really want our future generations, or even ours, to be that

  • 2. Essay on The Evolutionary Ladder to New Media It started out with the air ways, families sat by the radio sets in their homes waiting for a familiar voice to greet them with the latest news. A few years later, those airways filled with a new signal, one that carried thousands of pieces of data that a television set at home would convert to video. Throughout the innovations in the airwaves, newspapers and print media hung on by a thin line. However, with the introduction of new forms of media powered by the internet, Fathers do not have to wait for the morning newspaper to read the headlines. Mothers can keep up with the latest gossip, and kids can laugh away at videos online. In addition all of this information shoots across the airwaves within seconds from mobile phones and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... No waiting, instant access, and immediate attention. Driven by the internet powerhouse, knowledge does not have to wait to spread. Traditional media costs money, and for years, has strategized to keep itself alive. However, print media s management did not imagine the internet growing to what it has today. (Shriky) Traditional forms of media such as newspapers and magazines all cost money, money that the consumer has to spend, and money that publishers have to spend. Knowledge gives power, but when that knowledge costs even a couple of cents, no consumer wants to pay for it. Why? Because new media gives people a free way to send knowledge and information. In new media, the term News not only applies to journalistic accounts, but has rather grown to a single person s viewpoint or thought. In the wake of the terrorist attacks on September 11th 2001, new media paved the way for people to connect in unity and get the latest news. Editor and journalist Neal Morton remarked, with the net, now we go and find the news...We go out and discuss various viewpoints [ourselves], (Morton). New media has not only given power to the journalist, but to the individual. To face the facts; journalists, editors, and writers all represent what Kendyl Salcito and many others describe as Gatekeepers . In old print media, editors and writers stand in charge of what gets published and what information goes out to the public, and typically this power creates a bias. Blogs, social ... • 3. Vitamin D Supplementation Multiple Sclerosis is a disease which affects neurons in the central nervous system. It erodes the myelin sheath that covers the axons of the neurons. As such, the transmission of nerve signals does not occur as efficiently as it should. The myelin sheath gets disintegrated due to an autoimmune disease, where the immune system attacks its own tissue rather than foreign tissue. Research conducted shows that there is a correlation between multiple sclerosis and people s geographical location. People who live closer to the equator are less likely to get multiple sclerosis, whereas people who live further away from the equator have a greater chance of getting it. One reason for this explanation is that sunlight is rich in Vitamin D and there is more sunlight near the equator, compared to areas further away from the equator. As a result, lack of Vitamin D may be responsible for the onset of multiple sclerosis. If a person is deficient in Vitamin D, they may have a greater chance of getting this disease. One area of key interest is that in patients who have this disease, can enhancing the uptake of Vitamin D alleviate symptoms of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Is it thought that Vitamin D supplementation will help alleviate the symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis. The procedure for doing this research can be as follows. A total of 100 patients who have Multiple Sclerosis would be subjected to this test where half of the patients would be given a tablet which has Vitamin D in it while the other 50 patients will be given a tablet which would be a placebo. The placebo is the control to make sure no other factors are influencing the symptom s of multiple sclerosis. There will be approximately 100 patients who will be tested. Out of these 100 patients, 50 (group A) will be given Vitamin D tablets, while the other 50 (group B) will be given the placebo Vitamin D ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Compare And Contrast The Classical Production Approach Schoors et al. (2010) state that according to the classical production approach total deposits and total loans are treated as output, and labour and physical capital are used as inputs. As we cite Ferrier and Lovell (1990) emph { The production approach views banks as producing demand deposits, time and savings deposits, commercial loans, real estate loans, and instalment loans, using capital, labor, and materials to do so. } Next to this classical production approach, Schoor et al. (2010) mention the intermediation approach introduced by Sealey and Lindley (1977) in their paper: emph{ Inputs, outputs, and a theory of production and cost at depository financial institutions. } In this paper they introduce earning assets as outputs and deposits as inputs. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the research paper of Schoors et al. (2010), they prefer the classic production approach because in the intermediation approach, the deposits are neglected as an import output. In order to follow our own rationale, we prefer to apply the classic production approach since deposits are neglected in the intermediation approach and our dataset consists only out of deposit banks. Also Ferrier and Lovell (1990) argue using the production approach if you are measuring the cost efficiency of banks because it takes only the operating costs of banking into account. On the other hand, the intermediation approach is preferable if you want to investigate the viability of banks since it is concerned with the overall costs of banking. But since we want to conduct a comprehensive and thorough research on this subject, we will also include a stochastic frontier model based on the intermediation approach inputs and outputs in our robustness checks ... • 5. War Is Kind Analysis War is seen as disturbing, violent, depressing and stressful. Although some may think of it as honorable or may even welcome their own death in a war because of the glory that can come with it, others believe in the protest against the brutal acts of war. Several writers such as Stephen Crane, Wilfred Owen, Tim O Brien, and Kevin Powers are especially known to protest against war through their forms of writing. In order to strengthen their arguments and persuade audiences to prevent acts of war, they use techniques such as imagery, irony and structure to reveal the disturbing truths behind war. Imagery is one of the most powerful tools that writers try to use when protesting war because it serves as a simpler way to present clearer images ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although structure is a complex tool to use when trying to support an argument, it can serve as one of the most impactful tools that authors can use because it is sets up their form of writing and presents the audience with a specific style. The style that is created from the writer s structure is what affects the reader s mindset on the topic of the writing. For example, if a writing s structure is set up like a list, then the reader is most likely going to believe that the author is just trying to get to each of his or her points without trying to make the reader feel any emotion and so their writing is going to sound dull or bland. The Things They Carried by Tim O Brien has a structure set up just like that type of list. His list consists of the necessities that soldiers carried to war such as P 38 can openers, pocket knives, heat tabs, wristwatches, dog tags, mosquito repellent, chewing gum, candy, cigarettes, salt tablets, packets of Kool Aid, lighters, matches, sewing kits, Military Payment Certificates, C rations, and two or three canteens of water (2). O Brien uses a list to help create his structure by implying that most of this equipment can not help them and the tone it creates is straightforward to imply the dull aspects of war. O Brien also uses parallel structure with his lists to emphasize the items they carried by creating a feeling of repetitiveness. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Another reason for needing the policy is to support and fulfill the Healthy People 2020 national goal of improving health communication, and interaction between care providers and patients, and improve shared decision making (Koh, Brach, Harris, Parchman, 2013). More than 23 million Americans have limited English proficiency resulting in low level of health literacy; similarly, average Americans only have capability of reading 5th grade level, therefore, we strongly need a policy that establishes the information and communication system as simple, attractive, and relevant in order to effectively educate patients (Center for Health Care Strategies (CHCS), 2013). • 8. Analysis Of The Film Waltz With Bashir What are you insecure about? Every individual has at least one insecurity that they internally battle with every day. For example, some may be embarrassed of their physical appearance, which may lead to low self esteem. Others may be socially awkward and some may even be insecure about their financial status. Social anxiety and insecurities have rose among Israelis and Palestinians throughout recent years. In the Television Show, Arab Labor, viewers were shown the personal identity issues that the main character, Amjad, battled with. The personality of Israelis and Palestinians has affected their vulnerability to certain situations following the 2009 Gaza Conflict. They have faced distressing repercussions from war such as posttraumatic stress disorder. In the film, Waltz with Bashir, a young man struggles with reoccurring dreams that stemmed from his time as a solider in the 1982 Lebanon War. Just like any individual on this earth, Israelis and Palestinians face social anxiety and battle with insecurities every day from certain events that affect the way they carry out their everyday lives. • 9. Herman Melville s Bartleby As A Scrivener In Herman Melville s Bartleby, most of the characters either fall on the spectrum of desiring power or submitting to the power of others. However, the title character, Bartleby, manages to avoid either of those positions, and instead denounces any kind of power. Bartleby s passive resistance to his work on Wall St. is his way of attempting to break free not just from the authority of the Lawyer, but the authority of conventional society as a whole. The form of resistance Bartleby takes erupts from the disillusionment regarding his work as a scrivener. In the beginning, he is a hard worker, arguably an ideal employee. Yet, the more his work dehumanizes him, the more he disconnects from any authority. Instead of actively rebelling, however, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Impressionism And Its Impression On Modern Art Impressionism And its Impression on Modern Art One of the earliest forms of communication and documentation was art, from cave paintings, to Egyptian Hieroglyphs, to Renaissance portraits. Throughout the beginning of time, artistic style has evolved, and is still continuing to evolve. One early impact on Modern Art was Impressionism. Impressionism was defined as French nineteenth century art movement between 1867 and 1886 that marks the momentary break from tradition in European painting. In the middle of the nineteenth century the Academie des Beaux Arts dominated French arts. The Academie was the preserver of traditional French painting standards of content and style. Historical subjects, religious themes, and portraits were valued; Landscapes and still lifes were not. The Academie preferred carefully finished images that look realistic when examined closely. Paintings in the style were made up with precise brush strokes carefully blended to hide the artist hands in their work. Color was restrained and were often toned down farther by using a gold varnish. The Academie held an annual art show called the Salon de Paris. In the early 1860 s four young painters Claude Monet, Pierre Auguste Renoir, Alfred Sisley, and Frederic Bazille met while studying under the academic artist, Charles Gleyre. They discovered that they shared an interest in painting landscapes and contemporary life rather than historical or mythological scenes. During the 1860 s the Salon rejected many ... I was home with my oldest sister Brittany who was twenty at the time and I was just finishing up my homework for the day. After finishing up my math work I went to go watch television in the living room. Brittany was in her room and my parents didn t get home until later because of work. A few hours into my movie, my stomach started to hurt. Since I was twelve I didn t no the differences of pain so I just left it alone for a while. Later in the day my abdomen was aching so much I couldn t even get off the couch. After wailing for Brittany to call Mom I was sent to the emergency room in an ambulance with severe abdomen pain. After several hours in the ER and multiple tests, doctors found nothing. I was sent home and was told to take Tylenol for the pain. • 12. Unintended Consequences Pity from the Holocaust A common argument for the Holocaust s causation in the creation of Israel and generous partition of Palestine is the potential for nations to pity the Jews for their suffering. In truth, Zionism wasn t offered any gains by the Holocaust. Not only was the genocide irrelevant to the argument of Zionism to the rest of the world, but it also couldn t be pitied, as it was not yet understood. Overall, the Palestine question and it was just that: a question regarding Palestine, not Israel was answered based on the state of events in the Middle East. It manifests the very concept that clever management and tact are inescapably valuable in all aspects of life, and if used correctly can be cast into resounding successes from life s challenges. It can harm entities in the surroundings without one even knowing it and become a failure from a result that was a success in all other aspects. The effects of the creation of Israel are still important today. The support of Israel from the United States as well as the Partition and the creation of the State itself are sticking points with Arab nations presently. The war of 47 and 48 is still a travesty for the Palestinians. Arabs were rife with sorrow following their hopeless stance. They ve given the conflict the name ad naqba, or the disaster/catastrophe (Altman 84, qtd. Tessler). • 13. Childhood Obesity Is A Growing Epidemic Childhood obesity is a growing epidemic. The UK has estimated through their schools National Child Measurement Program that one third of the children there are overweight, and by 2050 that number could rise to an alarming two thirds (Phillips 2). There are many uncontrollable factors in childhood obesity such as the environment, income and genetics. However, parents are the most overlooked factor. Our children s futures, with regard to their eating habits, are in the hands of their parents. Ultimately, children grow into adults who make their own choices, but parents can have a positive effect on the children s health in their childhood. By focusing on the parental factor, an immense decrease in childhood obesity is obtainable. Parents must consider how the environment they choose to raise their child in can affect their child s health. In rural environments, people can live off of healthy, home grown food. If a child lives in the city, parents may have a harder time finding healthy, affordable options for their family. For example, when comparing cities like Atlanta, Georgia to a rural farm town like Jesup, Georgia, it is apparent that bigger cities lack resources that would keep vegetables fresh and on hand at all times. Nevertheless, parents would still need to opt for these healthier choices, instead of processed food or fast food. Even if these options are available, the major concern parents have is whether they can afford buying healthier alternatives which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The attempted assimilation of a regionally nomadic people whose entire society spiritually and culturally is based upon ties to nature leads to an eventual violent reaction by a portion of the tribe, through propagation of fear and political pressure the entire band is taken into custody with prisoner of war status. Eventually this status will define and even give way to the only federally created tribe, a unique distinction created through a federal over reach of power that can be considered genocidal in nature. This tribe is known as the Fort Sill Apaches. In order to understand the Chiricahua band of the Apaches the land from which they come must be understood. There is not much in the way of ancient history concerning this people, what is known is that the Apaches are made up of four separate bands of people of which one is Chiricahua and the Chiricahua has six matrilineal bands of its own, according to Geronimo. Be don ko he(Geronimo s band), the Chi hen ne(Ojo Caliente), Hot Springs, White Mountain, Cho kon en, and Ned ni Apaches these bands ranged in present day Arizona, New Mexico, and the northern border region of Mexico . • 16. Dehumanization In The Movie The Mission In the movie, The Mission, the Jesuit Priest, Father Gabriel, played by Jeremy Lyons, in an effort to liberate the Guarani people by proselytizing them to Christianity, becomes their oppressor by changing their natural beliefs and practices. While his intentions are meritorious, they display another form of colonialism and oppression. He does learn the Guarani language. However, this appears to be only as an attempt to teach them his way or the Jesuit way. Instead of learning the Guarani culture and assimilating therein, he attempts to convert them to European culture. As an example he teaches them music, which they had no knowledge of prior to his coming. He decides what is best for the people and what they should learn. In one of the earliest scenes in the movie the people did not wear clothes. Later on, we see the Guarani fully clothed, which was an indication that the priests taught them that they should wear clothes. In the United States, oppression of African Americans and other minorities continues today. I disagree with Freire that oppression affects both the oppressor and the oppressed. He says that the oppressor, who is him or herself dehumanized because he/she dehumanizes others (Freire 47.) In my opinion, the oppressor does not view him or herself as dehumanized. • 18. The Use Of Polymers Ever since the first polymer was fabricated in 1907, scientists have been seeking new applications for classic polymers (Brewer, 2006). Recently, in 2010, an enhanced structure of the photovoltaic cell (PVC) was proposed: synthesising new polymers from regular polymers for advanced donating and electron accepting (D A) moieties in PVCs (Mike et al., 2010). Also, in 2005, another additional application for traditional polymers has been discovered. By adding cinnamic acid to a flexible polymer, a material is produced which changes shape in response to different wavelengths of ultraviolet (UV) light (Lendlein, 2005). Hence, an old polymer can be taught new applications and tricks if modified in some way. Polymers, known as plastics, are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Likewise, polybenzobisoxazoles (PBBO)s, found in zylon, are multifunctional materials commonly applied in electrical structures for their high tensile strength, thermal stability, efficient electron transport, and high electron affinity (Intemann et al., 2011). So, when the thiophene and benzobisoxazoles (BBO)s from these compounds are combined with other molecules such as aldehydes, and two new polymers, namely poly[(3,4 didodecylthiopene vinylene) alt benzo[1,2 d;5,4 d ] bisoxazole] 2,6 diyl (PTVcBBO) and poly[(3,4 didodecylthiopene vinylene) alt benzo[1,2 d;4,5 d ]bisoxazole] 2,6 diyl (PTVtBBO) are formed, D A moieties with a low band gap and high electron transfer are produced (Kim et al., 2015). These moieties are then used to enhance PVC efficiency and electron transfer. Firstly, the direct conversion of sunlight into energy using PVCs has been recognised as an imperative component of future global energy production. As a result of their optical and electrical properties, conjugated organic materials are being suggested to replace inorganic materials in PVCs due to their ability to manipulate their electron properties through chemical synthesis (Mike et al., 2010). So, to improve the electrical properties of regular PVCs, the band gap (the energy difference between the top of the valence band and the bottom of the conduction band) must be lowered ... His writings have greatly influenced Christian theology and understanding of God. Saint Augustine laid out some theological doctrine that has helped shaped Christian s perceptions of sin, grace and salvation. However, in this paper, the primary focus will be on his controversy with the Pelegians. In AD 386, while sitting in his garden, Augustine heard a voice from some children playing not far away urging him to pick the book the Bible, and read. Millay is verbally telling her readers that even though love is not a physical thing that is needed to stay alive, many would prefer to die than not have love. The word yet from the line gives an effect that emphasizes that love has some values in it. It can be said that to men that death is much friendlier if one does not have love. Millay is telling us that due to the lack of love that men do not have, she knows that love is causing men to die. Men are dying due to the lack of love, causing men to rather die than live without it. The personification that is used is giving characteristics to death such as a death befriending man. It is suggesting that love is more valuable than what Millay thought it would be by that men keep dying because they do not have love. Generally speaking, love is something men would die for even if it isn t a physical thing. The meaning of ethic s is hard to define; people have their own thoughts about what ethics is about. The word ethics often times is a link with law or religion. Both of these have more to do with society standards than one s own behavior. Ethics is based on grounded values of right and wrong that advise what people should do. Moreover, you can relate ethics to fairness or specific virtues. Ethics can also be designated as values that impose the rational responsibilities to refrain from harming, stealing or killing. The aim of this investigation is to find out how temperature affects the speed at which the enzyme,Catalase, works best in Hydrogen Peroxide.I hope to achieve reliable results that will confirm my predictions. I predict that: · By increasing the temperature of the Hydrogen Peroxide, the Catalase will react faster. This is because the particles have more energy so they will move and react at a faster rate. · At about 40c, the Catalase will start to deteriorate because the substrate no longer fits the enzyme making the enzyme useless. · I predict that the enzyme will work at its best at 37c because that is ... • 46. Reflection On Entrepreneurship In the world of tutoring, there are an abundant amount of ways that one can go about teaching a student. Although this is true, there are some ways that tend to work better than others. Tutoring has a large amount of do s and don ts that we as tutors should make sure we take into account before we begin our interaction with the students to which we are tutoring. Before coming into this internship, I had a very general knowledge of tutoring, as I have been a tutor in previous years. After this week s reading and videos that were assigned, I have gained a deeper knowledge of what exactly is expected out of a tutor in and out of every session. Before diving into this week s reading and videos, there were already aspects of being a tutor that I knew were required. This would include: having a plan before every tutoring session and being patient with every student that you tutor. When it comes to having a plan before every tutoring session, I feel like that is something that is one of the most important aspects of being a successful tutor. When, as a tutor, you know the student you are working with, it is beneficial to make sure that you prepare ahead of time for the session with that student. If the student has provided you beforehand with the topics and papers that they are wanting to work, it is imperative to look into them and start working on revising them before you meet with the student. If you do this, and you know ahead of time what exactly you are needing to speak with the student about, you will be able to use your allotted time efficiently. As a tutor, if you go about this approach with any and every session that you can, you will be able to provide each student that you are able to tutor. Patience is also something that is extremely useful and needed in tutoring. Often times, a student will not understand what you are trying to teach them the first time. If you go about this in a negative way, no learning from the student will be able to be had. Although that is true, if you approach each session with an ample amount of patience, you will be able to teach the student the different subjects that you are intending on teaching them. Without patience, trying to be a tutor is virtually impossible. Even ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Another of Perón s breaches of the ten principles of economics is governments can sometimes improve market outcomes; when the government seized public lands along with price and wage restrictions, these actions caused a tremendous imbalance of the invisible hand of supply and demand in their markets. It is critical that a government enforces property rights, so that a person can own and control scarce resources (Mankiw, 2015, p. 12). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... GDP is used to measure the market value of a country s goods and services over a specific time period. The GDP is made up of four components: Consumption, investment, government purchases and net exports (exports imports). There are a few portions of GDP directly related to socialism. The first, and most obvious, is government purchases. In a socialist society, the government would control much of a country s social services like welfare, social security, etc. These social services would be paid for by collecting tax from peoples, products, and services within a country. Many of the social services provided and paid for are not considered part of the GDP, instead they are considered transfer payments, because social program payments are not made for a good or service being produced by a country. From a macroeconomic viewpoint transfer payments are like negative taxes to the GDP (Mankiw, 2015, p. 202); therefore, increasing the social services within a country would reduce a country s GDP. Another issue to discuss regarding socialism is state funded education. A teacher s salary is considered government expenses in the GDP; however, the price of state funded education would be considered a social tax and therefore a transfer payment. Although the initial cost of funding education may be a drain on the GDP, in the long run the production gained from more people receiving post high school education would hopefully counter any of the negative costs to GDP and actually be a gain from the increased goods and ...
