Theories of Social Evolution Herbert Spencer versus Franz...
Theories of Social Evolution Herbert Spencer versus Franz Boaz
Herbert Spencer and Franz Boaz had two opposing theories on the social evolution
theory. Each theory was difficult to prove but great theories. But both theories had it s ups and
downs.
Herbert Spencer was born in England, he is best known for developing and applying the
evolutionary theory to philosophy and psychology. The evolutionary theory states that societies
go from simple societies to complex societies. The more complex a society is the more evolved
they are.
A complex society is more civilized with different social levels of politics, such as slaves
and kings. He proclaimed, Only the strongest survives. . Spencer explained a ... Show more content on

Spencer compared societies by categorizing race and culture, which he viewed at one
term. Spencer felt race and culture were not different enough to be classified as two different
terms. Spencer believed that every race that belonged to a society is the same as the next, but some are
more evolved then others. A simple society developed into a complex society through prospective
steps. A society
can go only from simple to complex. The only time a society could go from complex to simple
was if a national disaster occurred, but he explained that the most evolved society would develop
back at a faster rate. Boaz was a Jewish German American anthropologist and ethnologist. His theory
on
social evolution stated that no truly pure race existed and no race is innately superior to any
other. He confirmed the differences in peoples were the result of historical, social and
geographic conditions and all people had equally developed cultures. Boaz was objective. He lived
within different societies around the world while collecting
data on everything he saw, from language, customs and history. He concluded that a society can
survive through corporation just as well as a society can through competition. How a society
survives depends on it s psychological conditions, what satisfies their human needs. No matter

Gateway Drugs
Gateway Drugs and Common Drug Abuse
The oldest known written record of drug use is a clay tablet from the ancient Sumerian civilization of
the Middle East. This tablet, made in the 2000 s B.C., lists about a dozen drug prescriptions. An
Egyptian scroll from bout 1550 B.C. names more than 800 prescriptions containing about 700 drugs.
The ancient Chinese, Greek and Romans also used many drugs. The Greeks and Romans used opium
to relieve pain. The Egyptians used castor oil as a laxative. The Chinese ate liver to cure anemia. In
the 1500,s and 1600 s, doctors and scientists made important advances in Pharmacology and in other
fields of science. In the early 1500 s, Swiss physician Philippus Paracelsus pioneered in the use of

Bad trips and flashbacks are only part of the risks of LSD use. LSD users may manifest relatively long
lasting psychoses, such as schizophrenia or severe depression. It is difficult to determine the extent
and mechanism of the LSD involvement in these illnesses.

Most users of LSD voluntarily decrease or stop its use over time. LSD is not considered an addictive
drug since it does not produce compulsive drug seeking behavior, as do cocaine, amphetamine, heroin,
alcohol, and nicotine. However, like many of the addictive drugs, LSD produces tolerance, so some
users who take the drug repeatedly must take progressively higher doses to achieve the state of
intoxication that they had previously achieved. This is an extremely dangerous practice, given the
unpredictability of the drug.
MDMA (Ecstasy)
MDMA is a synthetic, psychoactive drug with both stimulant (amphetamine like) and hallucinogenic
(LSD like) properties. Street names for MDMA include Ecstasy, Adam, XTC, hug, beans, and love
drug. Its chemical structure (methylenedioxymethamphetamine, MDMA ) is similar to
methamphetamine, methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA), and mescaline other synthetic drugs known
to cause brain damage.
MDMA also is neurotoxic. In addition, in high doses it can cause a sharp increase in body temperature
(malignant hyperthermia) leading to muscle breakdown and kidney and cardiovascular system failure.
Brain imaging research in humans indicates that MDMA causes injury to the

Management Theories In Classroom Management
2.4 Behaviour management theories While classroom management theory is constantly evolving.
There are many types of behaviour management and discipline strategies for the classroom. Some of
the theories are directly applicable and some theories can use with our own personal mix.
Understanding these theories can help educators define their own classroom management methods and
make decisions about how to best approach interactions with students (Hussung, 2016). 2.4.1 The
Assertive Discipline Model This theory, proposed by Lee Canter (1976), suggests that students
positive behaviours should be recognized and encouraged. As per his theory, teachers should inform
students about expectations they have as well as rules they have set. Once they inform students, they
will closely monitor who follow these guidelines. According to his theory, teachers should be
entrusted with the right to teach without any intervention, while students should learn without any
interruption (Edu excellence organisation, 2016). Most important thing in this model is teacher always
reinforced positive more than negative. However, if the student violates the rules persistently, then he
or she is punished. This include five steps namely; warning the student, giving 10 minute time out in
isolation, giving the student a 15 minute time out in isolation, calling the student s parents and finally,
sending the student to the principal s office. However, this approach is not practicable for the
teenagers. Because

Myth Of The Empty Land By Robert P. Carroll
Myth of the Empty Land:
The myth of the empty land is a widespread debate between biblical critics; the concerns of this debate
lays within the construction of Judean territory during and after the destruction of Jerusalem leading to
their (Babylonian) exile (586 538 BCE). The understanding of the empty land refers to the land left
behind by its people, where the myth therein refers to the interpretation of certain texts and their
beliefs of what the land of Israel was like during their exile. The works of Robert P. Carroll will be
used as the primary basis of this interpretation.
Carroll uses various texts, to demonstrate the state of the land during and after the destruction and
exile, these texts also refers to several issues concerning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To achieve this, I will attend swiftly to the major difference pertaining the myth of the empty land; the
variance between the texts.
The Empty Land of Chronicles and Leviticus:
Under the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, the destruction of Jerusalem took place as a result of the people s
pollution of YHWH S holy sanctuary (Carroll,1992:80) with the destruction of Jerusalem, the exilic
period began. The biblical texts that Carroll use to argue the emptiness of the land is that of 2
Chronicle 36:17 21 and Leviticus 26:27 39, by making specific reference to the following verses it is
evident that according to these narratives the land was left desolated;
2 Chr 36:19 21 19Then his army burned the Temple of God, tore down the walls of Jerusalem, burned
all the palaces, and completely destroyed everything of value. 20The few who survived were taken as
exiles to Babylon, and they became servants to the king and his sons until the kingdom of Persia came
to power. 21So the message of the Lord spoken through Jeremiah was fulfilled. The land finally
enjoyed its Sabbath rest, lying desolate until the seventy years were fulfilled, just as the prophet had
said.

Gifted And Gifted Education
Gifted and Talented Education: Socioeconomic Inequalities
Public education in America strives to benefit communities through teaching democratic principles
and the common values of society through equal opportunities for learning: equal opportunities do not
create equal outcomes. What the public education system attempts in actuality are equitable processes,
in that all individuals are given a chance to try to get an education (Dai, 2013). Conflict theory views
education in a capitalist society as a way to maintain social inequality and preserve economic and
political power for the dominant population; the underlying hidden curriculum serves to indoctrinate
the accession of working classes into the lower positions in society (Turner, 1975). Over the last
decade, the majority of public schools have shifted their attention to ensuring there is equivalent
access to specialized education programs for African Americans and other minorities, as well as to
students with disabilities or limited English proficiency (Resnick, 2006) in conjunction with the
standard rubric; public schools are adapting to the changing landscape of society, and broadening the
scope of specialized curriculum to service more diverse students both culturally and ethnically in
accelerating their academic ability. Children of both high and low income families are born with
highly abled abilities, but opportunities to enhance these abilities are not equally represented, and
mobility between the social classes

Concert Observation
I enjoyed a Dame Myra Hess Concert at the Chicago Cultural Center, held in the Preston Bradley
Hall. It featured Brannon Cho and Victor Asuncion as the performers on November 16th in the
afternoon. It showed a variety of compositions that kept me mesmerized throughout the show. The
instruments they played were the cello and the piano. I chose this concert because it was convenient,
location wise and it fitted well into my schedule. The only other concert I can relate it to was at
church, it was a visit by a choir from Moody Church.
Two of the compositions that attracted my attention were the seven variations on Bei Männern, welche

He completed several symphonies, operas and piano music. This composition was a Sonata form,
which was part of the four movements. This was also played with a small ensemble (duet)While a
more accurate term is also used to refer to the period from 1750 to 1820, this article is about the broad
span of time from roughly the 11th century to the present day, which includes the Classical period and
various other periods. The central norms of this tradition became codified between 1550 and 1900,
which is known as the common practice period. The major time divisions of Western art music are as
follows: the early music period, which includes the Medieval and the Renaissance eras; the Common
practice period, which includes the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic eras ; and the 20th century
which includes the modern that overlaps from the late 19th¬century, the high modern, and
contemporary or postmodern eras. Another difference is that whereas most popular styles adopt the
song form, classical music has been noted for its development of highly sophisticated forms of
instrumental music such as the concerto, symphony, sonata, and mixed vocal and instrumental styles
such as opera which, since they are written down, can sustain larger forms and attain a high level of
complexity. The term classical music appeared during the 19th century, in an attempt to distinctly
canonize the period from Johann Sebastian Bach to Beethoven as a golden age. The earliest reference

Greenhouse Gases Persuasive Essay
Why start something if you can t finish it? Because, we cut down greenhouse gasses because we
started using more natural gas.It would also allow the technologies that we would need time to
develop, and become great, magnificent even, and popular. And since jobs and money have been tight,
people are buying less. These are my three reasons to support my claim. I think that the U.S. should
not make laws on climate change right away. Climate change is a very serious issue but, we won t be
able to start and stop it with the technology that we have. Also if the U.S will do something about
climate change, then so might others. Yet, these gases are dangerous risks to the world s businesses, its
environment and the health of all people. We have increased our demand of burning fossil fuels.
We cut down on greenhouse gases because we started using more natural gas. Natural gas is so much
cleaner than gas, coal, and fossil fuels. This explains that natural gas is ... Show more content on

Lowering the amount of greenhouse gas released into the air will be cheaper in the future. This
explains that the cost of cutting down greenhouse gasses will deplete. New technology will help, think
about it. Also think about how much cellphones have changed over the past 20 years. Cellphones Used
to be the size of bricks and so expensive that only people in business could use them. This shows you
an example of how something changed, that is very commonly used today, cellphones/smartphones.
But technology has improved and prices have dropped. Today, even kids carry iPhones. The phones
now are far better than the old cell phones. And they are much cheaper. That same type of
improvement will happen with new technology to cut greenhouse gases. This shows you a continuing
metaphor of how cellphones improved. Now have some patience for the technology to be produced,
and we will all get through

1. Students in Finland The Finnish school system has been intentionally developed towards the
comprehensive model which guarantees equal educational opportunities to everyone irrespective of
domicile, gender, financial situation or linguistic and cultural background (section 25 Basic Education

country. Finland does not have segregated educational services for different genders, i.e. no girls and

Organisation of schoolwork and teaching is guided by a conception of learning where pupils own
active involvement and interaction with teachers, fellow pupils and the learning environment are
important. Pupils process and interpret the information that they absorb on the basis of their prior
knowledge structures and learning by doing (playing, experiencing). This is quite different from their
Asian counterparts where learning is mostly done by one way download from teacher to student and
memorization from book). Also, based on our team mate, Stephen s personal experience as assistant
teacher in Normalikoulu, Jyväskylä and his teaching experience in German schools, Finish pupils
seem to be more independent in their learning and working. Since PISA there have been many
discussions going on to research the reasons and factors why Finland is one of the top countries
considering education. It is hard to give a simple conclusion, but one other reason might be that
relation between pupils and teacher is more based on trustfulness rather than for instance in Germany
or many other Asian countries, where it is still more common to

Thesis Statement Of No Greater Love By Danielle Steel
CONCLUSION
No Greater Love by Danielle Steel is about bearing burden of life. The dissertation work based on No
Greater Love contained the main facts, the everyday life of today s society. Danielle Steel as the
author of the novel put herself at the center of the story, thus guaranteed the work s being so real, the
work mirrors the real world.
Speaking of this work we tried to put our opinion of the hard life writing this dissertation work.
Generally, the thesis contained No Greater Love , its author, major problems, plot, analyzing of
characters and mysteries concerning Titanic. It s obvious that the work is historical fiction, this is Steel
s one of her two novels about Titanic where life becomes heavy burden for heroines caused by Titanic
disaster. As it was mentioned No Greater Love is a historical fiction and we proved it in the
dissertation work, as the part of history is depicted there. Also we got Danielle Steel s letters
concerning this theme, where we again are sure that this novel is the genre of above mentioned.
Historical fiction is always popular in every period of time. The genre itself is very attracting, the use
of this genre in the novel was a success. The other chapter of the novel was dealt with the plot of the
novel. Here is depicted the soul of the novel and dissertation work, in the plot the ... Show more

Persuasive Essay On Organ Transplants
According to the United States Department of Health and Human Services, there are currently around
117,000 people with their lives currently on hold, hoping and praying for an organ transplant that will
save their lives. Not only are those patients waiting on the transplant list lives impacted, but also the
lives of the family and friends of those 117,000 men, women, and children who are also forced to
patiently sit and wait, in hopes that their loved one is lucky enough to receive their vital organ.
However, because of the extreme decline in the U.S. of organ donors and an extreme increase in
patients in need an organ transplant, the likelihood of their loved ones receiving one of these
lifesaving transplants is quickly deteriorating more and more each day. As the national rates for the
number of organ transplants preformed continue to rise more and more each year, the gap between
supply and demand for these organs still continue to expand (Organ Procurement and Transplantation
Network). As a nation, we have continued to advance medically, since the first successful organ
transplantation in 1945 by Nobel Prize winner Joseph Murray, while currently maintaining a 90%
success rate which is both nationally and internationally an all time high (LiveOnNY.org). According
to Barbra Mantel in her article Organ Donations Can the growing demand for organs be met this
problem continues to grow each day despite the recent groundbreaking medical advances, solely
because of the increasing need of donated organs not being able to keep up with the exceedingly
growing number of patents in need of an organ transplant.
I am personally extremely connected to this intensifying issue because I have witnessed first hand
both tragedy and great success involved with the both sides of organ donation through the lives of a
donor and a recipient. Last year, one of my closest friend s 12 year old sister, Kenzie, tragically passed
away unexpectedly from what was thought just to be a common migraine, but turned out to be so
much more. I was forced to watch as one of my best friends, the rest of her family, and our entire town
grieve her catastrophic death. This loss of life from someone who had only been here such a short time

An Open Message On All E Mail Users
An open message to all e mail users:
In recent weeks you may have received a slightly greater than usual number of e mails purporting to
be invoices or collection notices from a wide variety of sources. Despite our utilization of state of the
art e mail filtering mechanisms, it is inevitable that a certain number of these messages will still get
through. Ill willed entities (with various motivations) are continuously attempting to obviate whatever
protective mechanisms are placed in their way.
I would like to take this opportunity to remind all e mail users of the following advice:
If a message appears to come from an unexpected source, an entity you have never dealt with, or to
which you have never given your business e mail address, you should immediately be at least
somewhat suspicious of its authenticity.
If a message makes claims regarding a business connection or account which does not exist, you
should also be suspicious. Such messages almost never come from a legitimate business that is merely
mistaken about these sorts of things. They are almost always fake.
If the sender s purported address does not match the purported sender s business name, be very
suspicious. For instance, if a message appears to be a collection notice from American Express, but the
sender s e mail address appears as poubelle2167@reparationdevelosdesttropez.fr, you should
immediately be suspicious. Do look carefully, though, as a sender will sometimes use a clever, but not

Just a couple classes ago Professor Holland discussed to us how the attacks in Paris are all over the

With P G being present in 180 countries there seems to be no real barrier to entry that can t be
overcome. They have some competition from other companies that offer dishwashing detergents
which can be seen as a threat of substitute products. There is definitely a presence of rivalry from
other competitors including the store name brand detergents that are shelved next to P G s product.
Industry Cost Structure
The cost structure is different in each market and country. It is based off of the economy in a certain
market so that it s affordable and economical to the consumers there. Cost structure must be carefully
studied so that the product doesn t fail and remain on the shelf while others priced more reasonably
sell.
Distribution Channels P G has several distribution channels that help them to get their product out to
the consumers. There are stores like Wal Mart, Target, Dollar General, and a number of grocery stores
that sell the products. You can even purchase the product online from a number of retailers.
Market Trends
P G must keep up with any changes that occur in their target market. This can pose either threats or
opportunities depending on the change that occurs. They need to be cautious of price sensitivity and
whether there is a new demand for variety. Also there can be changes that are regional that they need
to keep an eye out for.

Should Shale Gas Controversy
Shale gas controversy has been ongoing in New Brunswick for a number of years now, when the
outgone Congressive premier: David Alward refused to stop the commencement of shale fracking in
the region, there was an upsurge by the residents. Fracking is a form of natural gas extraction, where
millions of gallons of pressurized and chemical treated water are pumped into shale to extract gases
embedded in the deposits. Most of the residents of Richibuto New Brunswick are arguing that,
although economic growth is important, it should not be at the detriment of the environment.
However, the government and some residents are of the opinion that, because the province is poor,
prioritizing economic growth over environmental concern is paramount. If fracking is allowed in the
province, it will create more jobs, attract private investors Another major concern raised was the issue
of water pollution and wastage . Shale is a dense rock found two miles underground, if fracking isn t

Skepticism of the Use of Cryonics
When the issue of death is discussed, what comes to mind? Do you think of its inevitability, how it
may be the end of basically...everything, or are you curious if there s anyway we can somehow cheat
it? Death is not an event, but a process. Says some scientists who are involved with Cryonics, which is
when dead bodies are frozen to someday be brought back to life. So, do you agree, or disagree?
Though Cryonics is an amazing breakthrough in its field, I disapprove of it s utilization. I am in
disfavor of the usage of Cryonics because of the skepticism of attempting a revival and the concerns
and questions it raises with certain religions that find it distasteful. Some companies that are
associated with Cryonics guarantee that the revival of your loved one will be successful, but they
shouldn t be so positive about that yet. Scientists that work with Cryonics have put bodies into
nitrogen tanks with ease, but they have yet to triumphantly bring someone back from the dead. No one
can be one hundred percent positive that reviving a cryogenically frozen person will end up working
out since no one has yet to do so. The characters from the Disney movie Frozen, were lucky, but in
real life, it s just way too soon to tell. Furthermore, if the attempt is a failure, it will be an unfortunate

In other words, the person who owns the data have power and control over it as well According to
Loshin, 2002 The control of information includes not just the ability to access, create, modify,

Sometimes for the advancement of the science these data ownership have the ability to share the data

because it implies a broader responsibility where the user must consider the consequences of making

In order to analyze the data ownership we must be sure about who collects the data and under whose

Homeland Security And The Security
Differences The idea of securing the nation s borders and securing the safety of the citizens has been a
major topic since the beginning of the nation s existence. There have always been means and
procedures for it but it was never defined to the point it is today. The Homeland Security Department
is a fairly new program which is constantly improving and adjusting in accordance to the threats that
may arise. In the attempt to secure the United States, homeland security has become paramount and a

Later, the federal, state, and local government responses to disasters such as Hurricane Katrina
expanded the concept of homeland security to include significant disasters, major public health
emergencies, and other events that threaten the United States, its economy, the rule of law, and
government operations (2). Homeland security is the combination of law enforcement, immigration,
disaster relief, and terrorist activities within the United States borders. This would be based on the
local agencies and civilian departments to safeguard the people from any threat within while being
assisted by the government. In some aspects of terror attacks, there will be a combination of both
homeland security and homeland defense. 9/11 is the perfect example as homeland security was
responding to the local disasters and threats while the homeland defense, military, was deploying to
get to the root of the threats. This is essential to the way homeland security operates because this will
stop the attack on the nation s soil before it reaches the borders and local government agencies are
required. The biggest issue with the homeland security aspect is that the

Huckleberry Finn Book Analysis
Overtime the n word became a word only Black people are allowed to say. When teaching the book as
is brings up the problem where people do not feel comfortable reading the word over and over because
they know it is not from a black person, it is Huck saying it or another white person. This however is
teachable moment were the students have a opportunity to talk about the racial history, the teachers
should be able to guide the conversation better (Beck). When correctly guided the students better
know our history and we learn from it so in the future we make better decisions. Because the students
are the future decision makers and are therefore suppose to be openmind of the outcomes. Dr. Nel
agrees that the discomfort created by this book needs a sensitive teacher to guide this experience
(Beck). If there is discomfort then society clearly has not progressed. As Nel said in his interview that
only way to teach Huckleberry Finn the right way is to be uncomfortable and discuss the situation
rather than ignoring it and pretending everything is okay (Beck). In order for the students to acquire
the most knowledge is by receiving the original version of Huckleberry Finn . Schools however have
avoided the dilemma that comes from reading Huckleberry Finn due to its overuse of the n word.
Therefore, one solution has come up to replace the n word with another, because that is the only
problem with the book. The NewSouth Books has partnered up with Alan Gribben to

The Miracles Of The Kingdom Of God
The miracles of Jesus speak to us about the nature and the demands of the Kingdom of God. Lohfink
(2012, 40) states that God makes demands on people. The in breaking of the reign of God establishes
new and definitive standards for human action. Miracles convey the reality of God s kingly rule in that
they announce the arrival of the Kingdom and show God breaking into history to save the lost and
outcast. Miracles are depicted as signs of the Kingdom and this is evident in the gospels when the poor
would hear the Good News, the blind would see and the people oppressed would no longer have to
suffer. Thus, the coming of the Kingdom of God is a time of salvation. This essay will demonstrate the
ways in which the miracles are significant in showing the in breaking of the Kingdom of God in the
gospel of Matthew whilst examining other important aspects of miracles and the role they play in this
gospel. With the development of redaction criticism we can note and clearly see the changes that each
evangelist has made to suit their own theological purposes. Paying particular attention Matthew s
gospel, we can see that he has redacted or edited material within his gospel to suit his own theological
needs. Harrington (1991, 122) puts forward that (Matt 8:18 9:8) ...shows some of Matthew s
characteristic moves as an editor. He not only shortens the Markan accounts by omitting unnecessary
details but also brings out themes by subtle additions. In the first miracle after the Sermon

Research Paper On Baldness
Baldness is a common occurrence among men. It is typically regarded as something normal and not
indicative of any kind of health condition, although it may cause psychological distress in the affected.
However, scientists have discovered positive correlations between baldness and several pathologies.
Male pattern hair loss, as it is formally known in the medical realm, affects at least 50% of men in old
age. Its causes are believed to be largely genetic. Recent studies have finally shed some light on the
genetic underpinnings of the condition, revealing several complex relationships with other diseases
and innate traits.
Shortness and baldness
According to scientists at the University of Bonn, Germany, short men are more likely to experience
hair loss prematurely. They studied the genetic material of more than 20,000 men from around the
world. Slightly less than half were bald men. After analyzing the data, the team of scientists led by
geneticists Dr. Stephanie Heilmann Heimbach and Prof. Markus Nöthen discovered that prematurely
bald men carried 60 genomic alterations. These genetic signatures meant that prematurely bald males
are more likely to undergo puberty earlier, to have small body size, and to develop several types of
cancer (including prostate cancer). Associations between bone density and light skin color were also
found. The study now published in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

implications of this research is the creation of a genetic tool that helps predict hair loss patterns in the
future. The study was published in the PLOS Genetics

The Influence Of Bacon s Rebellion
There have been many wars, and many rebellions in our short history of America. A lot of these have
been over the same reason over and over again, some serve their own purpose, and others have even
been purposeless. Even though they may not serve a purpose there must have been a reason for their
upbringing. Whether that upbringing took months, years, or even decades, it doesn t really matter
because it all can all be studied and analyzed one way or another just to see if there was anything was
gained from it. These is the possibility of nothing being gained from it, these historic events can be
analyzed and studied from something that was lost. Either or, something always can be learned from
wars or rebellions. They can bring people together to fight for a cause or fight against an opposing
party. Whether that reason be a belief in something or an act up against a wrong doing, that event has
the power to bring people together. One rebellion shows all of these things and creates a big impact in
the very beginning of our nation from long ago, and that is the first one in American history, Bacon s
Rebellion. Bacon s Rebellion of 1676 was a significant act against American Government and is very
similar with the American Civil War because the rebellion showed signs of unity amongst Americans

Professional Flooring Supply (PFS) is a wholesale distributor of flooring installation supplies and
sundries. PFS currently has 15 branches located in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Colorado,
Utah and Idaho. Each of these locations serves as a distribution point for resale customers as well as a
retail store front for flooring installers. PFS was founded in 1977 with a location in Houston and in

Finally, another major area of concern is when the inventory counts in the system do not match what is
physically on hand in the warehouse. This can occur for a number of different reasons. The main cause
however is poor cycle counting. PFS has implemented the use of cycle counts to insure that inventory
counts are done regularly to make sure everything matches and is correct. These counts are being done
in the middle of the day when the warehouse workers are trying to pull inventory for deliveries,
receiving in inventory, and picking inventory for customers who are there. As previously mentioned a
lot of times these items are not located properly so this worker is rushing through the list trying to
count the goods while performing all the other tasks and often times misses items that may be in stock,
just improperly located. That worker will then have to write off that inventory causing the purchasing
department to reorder the needed quantities to satisfy customer orders.
Literature Review
The main focus of the solutions needed for PFS revolve around the management of the supply chain
and how that can be made into a more automated process that will lower the amount of possible
manual errors. Talib, Rahman, and Qureshi discuss the similarities of Total Quality Management
(TQM) and Supply Chain Management (SCM) and how they each are used in business processes.

Persuasive Essay About Whataburger
Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. Over six decades ago, an
adventurous and determined entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so
big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customer couldn t help but

but they used to like it form the begging. Whataburger is the best burger fast food restaurants in Texas

Thomas Robert Malthus was born in 1766 (course textbook, n. d.) in Surrey, England, as the sixth son

This also puts a limit on the amount of procreation possible, but however, all species strive to surpass
these limitations (Malthus, p. 2). In this aspect, human beings are not any different from plants or
animals, but in contrast to them they do not only act out of instinct. Additionally, they use their
reasoning to determine whether they will be able to care sufficiently for their children (Malthus, p. 2).
Malthus states that there are certain checks on population and points out that there is no society
without any check applied. An unchecked population increases in a geometrical ratio, what means that
it doubles itself every twenty five years. Instead, the available food does not increase geometrically,
but gradually diminishes, because of the limited amount of fertile land. In contrast to the population,
the agricultural production, under favourable circumstances, is able to only increase in an arithmetical
ratio (Malthus, p. 6). A gap between population growth and the amount of food available rises. As a
result, to further increase the food supply, it is necessary to improve the quality of the soil (Malthus, p.
4). Malthus points out that there is still land which is not cultivated, even in Europe, and that
especially in this region it is possible to enhance the soil quality due to the progress of the
industrialization, but it will be gradually diminishing (Malthus, p.

Farmer, Political Boss, and Immigrant
Various people from the late nineteenth century held diverse opinions on political issues of the day.
The source of this diversity was often due to varying backgrounds these people experienced. Three
distinct groups of people are the farming class, the political bosses, and the immigrants, who poured
into the country like an unstoppable flood. These groups of people also represented the social
stratification of the new society, which had just emerged from rapid industrialization. These three
groups had large differences in many aspects such as power, amount of money, and influence in
political events of the day. The political boss dominated local city governments and pretended to be

The prices of staple goods dropped dramatically from the1860s to the 1890s. The farmers were losing
large amounts of money that they desperately needed. The tariff on manufactured goods vexed the
farmers because even though their own profits were decreasing, the prices of important manufactured
goods were not due to absence of foreign competition. The farmers were further bothered by the
domestic marketing system which allowed numerous middlemen to take large shares of the profit of
agriculture. There was a shortage of credit, which made it difficult to finance the construction of
necessary improvements. The farmers were plagued by numerous natural disasters including
tornadoes, floods, and droughts. These conditions, which could destroy property and crops, also
provided a difficult environment to grow crops. If the crops could not be grown, the farmer had no
means of supporting him and his family. After a boom in the mid 1880s, the population of western
farm states increased enormously. This large influx of people contributed to the destruction of open
range cattle raising. A prolonged drought following these boom years devastated the farmers and many
soon returned East with no money and low morale. Thus, farmers were dissatisfied with government
policy and politicians began to discuss resolutions to their problems. Many farmers began to

their name from the Jacobin Monastery where they frequently met. They wanted a centralized

led by Jean Marie Roland and his wife Marie Roland. The majority of the Girondins came from an

play slowly unfolds it is evident that jealousy is the cause of most of the dramatic actions which take
place in the duration of the play. It is described as the green eyed monster. Green representing the
colour of envy, and monster shows how destructive and how vicious it can be. This quotation is said

There are other characters that are affected by jealousy and resentment in the play as well as Othello.
There is a character called Roderigo who also suffers from jealousy. He is very eager to be with
Desdemona, who is Othello s wife. He refers to Othello as thick lips as he is black. This is a racist
comment and also shows how much Roderigo envy s Othello as Desdemona loves him and not
Roderigo.
As mentioned previously, Othello is not affected by the jealousy instantly. It is apparent that his love
for Desdemona is true. Although people have doubted if their love is true for each other. Brabantio
refers to Othello s love for Desdemona as if she in chains of magic were not bound this shows that
Brabantio is also feeling jealousy. Brabantio s relation to Desdemona is her father and he thinks that
Desdemona is showing Othello more love than she is showing to him. He is saying that Othello has

admits beating Tituba. Rev. Parris says, You will confess yourself or I will take you out and whip you
to your death, Tituba! ( Miller, 42). Therefore, if he truly based his morals off of the Bible then
whipping and beating Tituba would be wrong because Matthew 7:12 says, Do to others what you
would have them do to you. Reverend Parris goes against the Bible many times which questions his
morality and tethers on

Hannibal Lecter As A Monster
The monster that Hannibal Lecter represents in today s society are serial killers who are put in mental
asylums. Hannibal Lecter is in many movies and tv shows that show what he went through throughout
his life, including Red Dragon, The Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal, and Hannibal Rising. Throughout
Hannibal Lecter s life he went through many traumas that caused him to become, in his future life, a
serial killer. Serial killers are made by a severe event in their life, not born to be a serial killer. When
you are born you have not chosen your path, you are made to go down the path depending on your
past. From early in Dr. Hannibal Lecter s life, it was clear that he was to become a monster.. Hannibal

British neuroscientist Adrian Raine was the first to scan the heads of murders to observe their brain
activity in California. The reason Professor Raine was drawn to California was because of the
homicides and murders there were in the whole state of California. Throughout a couple years,
professor Raine kept scanning the brains of murders and noticed something that appeared in similarly
in most of the murders. There was reduced activity in the frontal cortex of the brain. The frontal cortex
is the area of the brain where our emotional instincts are controlled. Professor Raine also discovered
that the amygdala, is where our emotions and motivations come from, is over activated. This proves
that serial killers and murderers have trouble controlling themselves due to the their emotional state
from the frontal cortex. What causes the brain to behave this way? Well, Raine s studies suggest that
childhood abuse and childhood trauma is the cause for the emotions of a person to be overwritten. One
of the patients Professor Raine scanned was Donta Paige. He was charged with brutally murdering a
twenty four year old woman who caught him breaking into her house. As a child, Paige was abused by
his mother and every time it got worse. His mother would use electrical cords, shoes or whatever was
around her to abuse her son usually on a daily basis. Early physical abuse, amongst other things could

Theories of Social Evolution Herbert Spencer versus Franz Boaz Herbert Spencer and Franz Boaz had two opposing theories on the social evolution theory. Each theory was difficult to prove but great theories. But both theories had it s ups and downs. Herbert Spencer was born in England, he is best known for developing and applying the evolutionary theory to philosophy and psychology. The evolutionary theory states that societies go from simple societies to complex societies. The more complex a society is the more evolved they are. A complex society is more civilized with different social levels of politics, such as slaves and kings. He proclaimed, Only the strongest survives. . Spencer explained a ... Spencer felt race and culture were not different enough to be classified as two different terms. Spencer believed that every race that belonged to a society is the same as the next, but some are more evolved then others. A simple society developed into a complex society through prospective steps. A society can go only from simple to complex. The only time a society could go from complex to simple was if a national disaster occurred, but he explained that the most evolved society would develop back at a faster rate. Boaz was a Jewish German American anthropologist and ethnologist. His theory on social evolution stated that no truly pure race existed and no race is innately superior to any other. LSD users may manifest relatively long lasting psychoses, such as schizophrenia or severe depression. It is difficult to determine the extent and mechanism of the LSD involvement in these illnesses. Schreiber 3 Most users of LSD voluntarily decrease or stop its use over time. LSD is not considered an addictive drug since it does not produce compulsive drug seeking behavior, as do cocaine, amphetamine, heroin, alcohol, and nicotine. However, like many of the addictive drugs, LSD produces tolerance, so some users who take the drug repeatedly must take progressively higher doses to achieve the state of intoxication that they had previously achieved. This is an extremely dangerous practice, given the unpredictability of the drug. Street names for MDMA include Ecstasy, Adam, XTC, hug, beans, and love drug. Its chemical structure (methylenedioxymethamphetamine, MDMA ) is similar to methamphetamine, methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA), and mescaline other synthetic drugs known to cause brain damage. • 6. Management Theories In Classroom Management 2.4 Behaviour management theories While classroom management theory is constantly evolving. There are many types of behaviour management and discipline strategies for the classroom. Some of the theories are directly applicable and some theories can use with our own personal mix. Understanding these theories can help educators define their own classroom management methods and make decisions about how to best approach interactions with students (Hussung, 2016). 2.4.1 The Assertive Discipline Model This theory, proposed by Lee Canter (1976), suggests that students positive behaviours should be recognized and encouraged. As per his theory, teachers should inform students about expectations they have as well as rules they have set. Once they inform students, they will closely monitor who follow these guidelines. According to his theory, teachers should be entrusted with the right to teach without any intervention, while students should learn without any interruption (Edu excellence organisation, 2016). Most important thing in this model is teacher always reinforced positive more than negative. However, if the student violates the rules persistently, then he or she is punished. This include five steps namely; warning the student, giving 10 minute time out in isolation, giving the student a 15 minute time out in isolation, calling the student s parents and finally, sending the student to the principal s office. Carroll Myth of the Empty Land: The myth of the empty land is a widespread debate between biblical critics; the concerns of this debate lays within the construction of Judean territory during and after the destruction of Jerusalem leading to their (Babylonian) exile (586 538 BCE). The understanding of the empty land refers to the land left behind by its people, where the myth therein refers to the interpretation of certain texts and their beliefs of what the land of Israel was like during their exile. The biblical texts that Carroll use to argue the emptiness of the land is that of 2 Chronicle 36:17 21 and Leviticus 26:27 39, by making specific reference to the following verses it is evident that according to these narratives the land was left desolated; 2 Chr 36:19 21 19Then his army burned the Temple of God, tore down the walls of Jerusalem, burned all the palaces, and completely destroyed everything of value. 20The few who survived were taken as exiles to Babylon, and they became servants to the king and his sons until the kingdom of Persia came to power. 21So the message of the Lord spoken through Jeremiah was fulfilled. • 8. Gifted And Gifted Education Gifted and Talented Education: Socioeconomic Inequalities Public education in America strives to benefit communities through teaching democratic principles and the common values of society through equal opportunities for learning: equal opportunities do not create equal outcomes. What the public education system attempts in actuality are equitable processes, in that all individuals are given a chance to try to get an education (Dai, 2013). Conflict theory views education in a capitalist society as a way to maintain social inequality and preserve economic and political power for the dominant population; the underlying hidden curriculum serves to indoctrinate the accession of working classes into the lower positions in society (Turner, 1975). Over the last decade, the majority of public schools have shifted their attention to ensuring there is equivalent access to specialized education programs for African Americans and other minorities, as well as to students with disabilities or limited English proficiency (Resnick, 2006) in conjunction with the standard rubric; public schools are adapting to the changing landscape of society, and broadening the scope of specialized curriculum to service more diverse students both culturally and ethnically in accelerating their academic ability. The central norms of this tradition became codified between 1550 and 1900, which is known as the common practice period. The major time divisions of Western art music are as follows: the early music period, which includes the Medieval and the Renaissance eras; the Common practice period, which includes the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic eras ; and the 20th century which includes the modern that overlaps from the late 19th¬century, the high modern, and contemporary or postmodern eras. Climate change is a very serious issue but, we won t be able to start and stop it with the technology that we have. Also if the U.S will do something about climate change, then so might others. Yet, these gases are dangerous risks to the world s businesses, its environment and the health of all people. We have increased our demand of burning fossil fuels. Speaking of this work we tried to put our opinion of the hard life writing this dissertation work. Generally, the thesis contained No Greater Love , its author, major problems, plot, analyzing of characters and mysteries concerning Titanic. • 13. Persuasive Essay On Organ Transplants According to the United States Department of Health and Human Services, there are currently around 117,000 people with their lives currently on hold, hoping and praying for an organ transplant that will save their lives. Not only are those patients waiting on the transplant list lives impacted, but also the lives of the family and friends of those 117,000 men, women, and children who are also forced to patiently sit and wait, in hopes that their loved one is lucky enough to receive their vital organ. However, because of the extreme decline in the U.S. of organ donors and an extreme increase in patients in need an organ transplant, the likelihood of their loved ones receiving one of these lifesaving transplants is quickly deteriorating more and more each day. As the national rates for the number of organ transplants preformed continue to rise more and more each year, the gap between supply and demand for these organs still continue to expand (Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network). As a nation, we have continued to advance medically, since the first successful organ transplantation in 1945 by Nobel Prize winner Joseph Murray, while currently maintaining a 90% success rate which is both nationally and internationally an all time high (LiveOnNY.org). According to Barbra Mantel in her article Organ Donations Can the growing demand for organs be met this problem continues to grow each day despite the recent groundbreaking medical advances, solely because of the increasing need of donated organs not being able to keep up with the exceedingly growing number of patents in need of an organ transplant. I am personally extremely connected to this intensifying issue because I have witnessed first hand both tragedy and great success involved with the both sides of organ donation through the lives of a donor and a recipient. Last year, one of my closest friend s 12 year old sister, Kenzie, tragically passed away unexpectedly from what was thought just to be a common migraine, but turned out to be so much more. I was forced to watch as one of my best friends, the rest of her family, and our entire town grieve her catastrophic death. An Open Message On All E Mail Users An open message to all e mail users: In recent weeks you may have received a slightly greater than usual number of e mails purporting to be invoices or collection notices from a wide variety of sources. Despite our utilization of state of the art e mail filtering mechanisms, it is inevitable that a certain number of these messages will still get through. Ill willed entities (with various motivations) are continuously attempting to obviate whatever protective mechanisms are placed in their way. I would like to take this opportunity to remind all e mail users of the following advice: If a message appears to come from an unexpected source, an entity you have never dealt with, or to which you have never given your business e mail address, you should immediately be at least somewhat suspicious of its authenticity. If a message makes claims regarding a business connection or account which does not exist, you should also be suspicious. Such messages almost never come from a legitimate business that is merely mistaken about these sorts of things. They are almost always fake. If the sender s purported address does not match the purported sender s business name, be very suspicious. For instance, if a message appears to be a collection notice from American Express, but the sender s e mail address appears as poubelle2167@reparationdevelosdesttropez.fr, you should immediately be suspicious. Though Cryonics is an amazing breakthrough in its field, I disapprove of it s utilization. I am in disfavor of the usage of Cryonics because of the skepticism of attempting a revival and the concerns and questions it raises with certain religions that find it distasteful. The in breaking of the reign of God establishes new and definitive standards for human action. Miracles convey the reality of God s kingly rule in that they announce the arrival of the Kingdom and show God breaking into history to save the lost and outcast. Miracles are depicted as signs of the Kingdom and this is evident in the gospels when the poor would hear the Good News, the blind would see and the people oppressed would no longer have to suffer. Thus, the coming of the Kingdom of God is a time of salvation. This essay will demonstrate the ways in which the miracles are significant in showing the in breaking of the Kingdom of God in the gospel of Matthew whilst examining other important aspects of miracles and the role they play in this gospel. These counts are being done in the middle of the day when the warehouse workers are trying to pull inventory for deliveries, receiving in inventory, and picking inventory for customers who are there. • 33. Description Of 3-D Finfet Systems The figure 1 gives a brief description of the 3 D FinFET structures which have been simulated. According to the International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors (ITRS), The gate length (Lgate) is 15 nm, which corresponds to the 7/8 nm technology having 0.64 nm as gate oxide thickness. The height (HSi) and width of fin (WSi) are 40nm and 8nm respectively whereas the the fin pitch is 30 nm and the fin aspect ratio is 5 which are taken from the characteristics of Intel 22 nm [1] and 14 nm FinFET technology [7]. The gate work function has been assumed to be tunably achieve an OFF state leakage current (IOFF) of up to 30 pA/μm which has been consistent with TSMC s 16 nm FinFET technology [8] which primarily was used for low power ... The fin sidewall surfaces along which the transistor current flows were assumed to be {110} crystallographic planes, with transistor current flow in a ⟨110⟩ direction. To boost transistor ON state current, 2 GPa (tensile) uniaxial stress has been introduced in the fin channel region for nFETs, whereas −2 GPa (compressive) uniaxial stress was introduced in the fin channel region for pFETs. The effective channel length (Leff) and the peak location of the PTS doping profile (Xdepth) for the SSR FinFETs have been optimized individually such that to ensure the ON state drive current Id, sat is maximized, whereas maintaining the OFF state current specification at (IOFF = 30 pA/μm). The Table II provides an overview of the important performance parameters for the given FinFET devices which have been optimized. Using the constant current criterion of 100 nA×(Weff/Lgate), the threshold voltage, Vt, has been used. For operating voltage VDD = 0.80 V (consistent with ITRS 2013 specifications for the 7/8 nm low power technology node [6]), SSR FinFET provides for 3.6% and 3.8% improvement in Id,sat for nFETs and pFETs, respectively. The benefit of higher carrier mobility is greater for operation in the linear regime (Vgs = 0.8 V and Vds = 50 mV): SSR FinFET provides for 6.7% and 6% improvement ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Essay on Thomas Malthus and the Principle of Population 1. Introduction This essay deals with Thomas Malthus and the first two chapters of his Essay on the Principle of Population . At first I will provide a short biographical note on Malthus and I will also mention his main achievements. Then, a summary of Malthus main ideas of the first two chapters of mentioned work follows. Afterward, the essay concludes with a personal note. 2. A short biography Thomas Robert Malthus was born in 1766 (course textbook, n. d.) in Surrey, England, as the sixth son of a wealthy intellectual family and he died in 1834 (Weikard, n. d.). He was mainly concerned with population growth and poverty in the English society of his time. It was an answer to the precarious human situation back then. Malthus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This also puts a limit on the amount of procreation possible, but however, all species strive to surpass these limitations (Malthus, p. 2). In this aspect, human beings are not any different from plants or animals, but in contrast to them they do not only act out of instinct. Additionally, they use their reasoning to determine whether they will be able to care sufficiently for their children (Malthus, p. 2). Malthus states that there are certain checks on population and points out that there is no society without any check applied. An unchecked population increases in a geometrical ratio, what means that it doubles itself every twenty five years. Instead, the available food does not increase geometrically, but gradually diminishes, because of the limited amount of fertile land. In contrast to the population, the agricultural production, under favourable circumstances, is able to only increase in an arithmetical ratio (Malthus, p. 6). A gap between population growth and the amount of food available rises. As a result, to further increase the food supply, it is necessary to improve the quality of the soil (Malthus, p. 4). Malthus points out that there is still land which is not cultivated, even in Europe, and that especially in this region it is possible to enhance the soil quality due to the progress of the industrialization, but it will be gradually diminishing (Malthus, p. ... • 35. Farmer, Political Boss, and Immigrant Farmer, Political Boss, and Immigrant Various people from the late nineteenth century held diverse opinions on political issues of the day. The source of this diversity was often due to varying backgrounds these people experienced. Three distinct groups of people are the farming class, the political bosses, and the immigrants, who poured into the country like an unstoppable flood. These groups of people also represented the social stratification of the new society, which had just emerged from rapid industrialization. These three groups had large differences in many aspects such as power, amount of money, and influence in political events of the day. The political boss dominated local city governments and pretended to be Robin ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The prices of staple goods dropped dramatically from the1860s to the 1890s. The farmers were losing large amounts of money that they desperately needed. The tariff on manufactured goods vexed the farmers because even though their own profits were decreasing, the prices of important manufactured goods were not due to absence of foreign competition. The farmers were further bothered by the domestic marketing system which allowed numerous middlemen to take large shares of the profit of agriculture. There was a shortage of credit, which made it difficult to finance the construction of necessary improvements. The farmers were plagued by numerous natural disasters including tornadoes, floods, and droughts. These conditions, which could destroy property and crops, also provided a difficult environment to grow crops. If the crops could not be grown, the farmer had no means of supporting him and his family. After a boom in the mid 1880s, the population of western farm states increased enormously. This large influx of people contributed to the destruction of open range cattle raising. A prolonged drought following these boom years devastated the farmers and many soon returned East with no money and low morale. Thus, farmers were dissatisfied with government policy and politicians began to discuss resolutions to their problems. Many farmers began to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Jacobins Viewpoints There are very rare cases in with society can see eye to eye on every situation, thus arguments arise and two to three viewpoints are created. France is no exception, in Brain Jenkins schema Order versus Movement, Reaction versus Progress, Catholicism versus Anti clericalism, Right versus Left he sheds light on how France may be homogeneous and fragmented. Two oppose groups are thus created, the Girondins and the Jacobins. There are many differences between the Girondins and the Jacobins as each group s viewpoint clash. Both of their conflicting viewpoints are striving for for the same end goal: to secure and foster their nation. The government should be second to the people, no matter what the orders were. The Jacobins get their name from the Jacobin Monastery where they frequently met. They wanted a centralized government and were comprised of cruel hearted people that were more often than not very poorly educated and poor in wealth that wanted to get involved. While on the other hand the Girondins were led by Jean Marie Roland and his wife Marie Roland. The majority of the Girondins came from an area called Gironde, and were much more wealthy and honest as compared to the Jacobins. The district of Gironde was made up of people of high intellect. The Girondins urged citizens to stop the violence while Jacobins encouraged the bloodshed. At the begging of the struggle there was a wide gap between the Girondins and the Jacobins, as the Jacobins were seen as the minority. The Girondins saw themselves as strong enough to dissolve the Jacobins and may have gotten a little cocky as a result. The minister of War, Pache switched from the Girondins to the Jacobins in 1972, and just a year later the king was executed. The Jacobins quickly gained the edge and became the more powerful force. Now that they had a monopoly they seized and killed twenty two Girondins. In the Girondins final attempt, Charlotte Corday snuck into Marat s bathroom and snapped him to ... As the play slowly unfolds it is evident that jealousy is the cause of most of the dramatic actions which take place in the duration of the play. It is described as the green eyed monster. Green representing the colour of envy, and monster shows how destructive and how vicious it can be. This quotation is said by a character named Iago. Iago has a strong manipulative mind. He is the first of all the characters in the play to be attacked by the green eyed monster. This is very ironic, Iago is warning Othello to be aware of jealousy, however what Othello ... There is a character called Roderigo who also suffers from jealousy. He is very eager to be with Desdemona, who is Othello s wife. He refers to Othello as thick lips as he is black. This is a racist comment and also shows how much Roderigo envy s Othello as Desdemona loves him and not Roderigo. As mentioned previously, Othello is not affected by the jealousy instantly. It is apparent that his love for Desdemona is true. Although people have doubted if their love is true for each other. Brabantio refers to Othello s love for Desdemona as if she in chains of magic were not bound this shows that Brabantio is also feeling jealousy. Brabantio s relation to Desdemona is her father and he thinks that Desdemona is showing Othello more love than she is showing to him. He is saying that Othello has used some sort of magic to make his daughter fall in love with him. Nevertheless, Othello has only used nothing as their love is true. Othello says she loved me for the dangers I have passed, and I loved her, that she did pity them. • 39. Examples Of Evil In The Crucible The Smoldering Evil of the Crucible Arthur Miller s The Crucible is based on the 19 people massacred in the Salem Witch Trials for believing in witchcraft; they, like some modern day people, are persecuted and sometimes executed for their beliefs. Does the novel plagued with adultery, thief, and execution depict the characters as evil? What defines evil? Evil is what is morally wrong, sinful, or wicked. Danforth, Williams, and Parris are evil characters. Danforth is morally wrong for executing John Proctor after being told Abigail is lying. Second, Abigail Williams is wicked for condemning the 19 to their deaths to save her own reputation. Lastly, though Danforth, Williams, and Parris are morally wrong and wicked, Rev. Parris is the evilest because beating Tituba is morally wrong, needing gold is the sin of greed, and withholding Abigail s offenses keeps his reputation in a wicked way. ... Hannibal Lecter is in many movies and tv shows that show what he went through throughout his life, including Red Dragon, The Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal, and Hannibal Rising. Throughout Hannibal Lecter s life he went through many traumas that caused him to become, in his future life, a serial killer. Serial killers are made by a severe event in their life, not born to be a serial killer. When you are born you have not chosen your path, you are made to go down the path depending on your past. British neuroscientist Adrian Raine was the first to scan the heads of murders to observe their brain activity in California. The reason Professor Raine was drawn to California was because of the homicides and murders there were in the whole state of California. Throughout a couple years, professor Raine kept scanning the brains of murders and noticed something that appeared in similarly in most of the murders. There was reduced activity in the frontal cortex of the brain. The frontal cortex is the area of the brain where our emotional instincts are controlled. Professor Raine also discovered that the amygdala, is where our emotions and motivations come from, is over activated. This proves that serial killers and murderers have trouble controlling themselves due to the their emotional state from the frontal cortex. What causes the brain to behave this way? Well, Raine s studies suggest that childhood abuse and childhood trauma is the cause for the emotions of a person to be overwritten. One of the patients Professor Raine scanned was Donta Paige. He was charged with brutally murdering a twenty four year old woman who caught him breaking into her house. As a child, Paige was abused by his mother and every time it got worse. His mother would use electrical cords, shoes or whatever was around her to abuse her son usually on a daily basis. Early physical abuse, amongst other things could ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
