Aboriginal Treatment Of Native People
The treatment of native peoples all around the world has been a major issue for generations. This
essay will show you how both the Indigenous Australians and Native Americans were treated from the
first settlement of white peoples in their land up until now. It will assess how the system worked, the
rights of the native peoples, why the system was the way it was, and how it impacted the world as a
whole.
The Australian constitution, made in 1901 states, in reckoning the numbers of people... The Aboriginal
Natives shall not be included. It also says that it will legislate (make laws for) any race other than the
Indigenous Australians. They were originally unable to vote, and were excluded from a range of
benefits such as, pensions and maternity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Native Americans were forced and paid to leave their traditional lands and either chose to hide
from or join the white people by living on reserves. Their native tongue, teachings and traditions were
soon to be extinct and one man named Ishi and his family went around trying to pass on their culture
to the new inhabitants of their land, The whites. Unfortunately, Ishi died not long after, a subject of
disease. And thanks to his efforts and the efforts of people all around America, white people began to
rally against the government alongside the natives. Native Americans were granted the same rights as
any other American in 1924 and were soon merged in with the rest of society.
In both cases, after a long, hard battle against the white settlers on their land, the Indigenous
Australians and Native American have finally been granted the rights they deserve and have been
accepted by society as a whole. Although, some people may stick to the old mindset, unable to move
on and appreciate the natives of the land on which they stand. They are, after all, the traditional
owners of the

Annotated Bibliography On Linear Data Structure
An introduction to linked list: a Review
Abstract
This paper describes about linear data structure i.e. linked list. Linked list is dynamic in nature means
there is no need to know size of data in advance. It is linear collection of data elements which may or
may not be stored at consecutive memory location. In linked list pointers are used for providing the
linear order and each node is divided into parts for storing data and link part. This paper provides only
overview that how linked list was created and what are its advantages over another data structure. It
also defines how data is stored in linked list. What type of linked list can be? What basic operations
can be performed on singly linked list? .And also tried to define applications of data structure.
Introduction
Linked list was developed by Cliff Shaw, Allen Newell and Herbert A. Simon at RAND Corporation
in year of 1955 1956. It was firstly used in information processing language for artificial intelligence.
There are many disadvantages of array as compare to linked list. First is array is a static data structure
and size have to define before use for example: int marks [10] here size of array have fixed of 10
elements. Second array stores only similar type of elements in integer value according to upper
example it will store only integer value and third one is in array insertion and deletion operation are
very difficult for performing that operations huge amount of data have to move upward and downward

The Brand Concept Of Brand Essay
In accordance with assorted definitions of brands, two approaches of defining a brand are derived. The
traditional one is a practical view which articulates a brand as a product identifier, including the
source of the product (Aaker, 99 ). According to him, a brand is a distinguishing name and/or symbol
which intended to identify the goods, services of either one seller or group of sellers and to
differentiate those goods or services from those of competitors . Another approach, as holistic view,
presents a brand as more than just the product (Styles Ambler, 995).
In order to understand the effect that the Brand Identity has on consumers, the consistency of identity
with the brand concept has to be emphasized through the company s strategic options. This will
facilitate the recognition and brand recall by consumers in an environment where there are multiple
competitive options (Sonnier and Ainslie, 20 ). The consistency of the brand concept must stand the
test of time, leading to the creation of an identity. There should be a consistent increase during a
prolonged period, the strategies for creating the concept of brand, to keep the connection between
identity and brand image (Chernatony and McDonald, 2003; Kapferer, 997; Keller, 993, 998; Aaker
and Joachimsthaler, 2000; Carrilat et. al., 20 ; Monga and John, 20 0; Batra et. al., 20 0; Janonis et. al.,
2007; Fischer et. al., 20 0; Sonnier and Ainslie, 20 ). Thus, as the brand concept is understood as a

Essay on Journalistic Standards in the Matt Drudge Era
Journalistic Standards in the Matt Drudge Era
Introduction
Public trust is at the heart of journalism. Such trust is built upon the credibility journalistic efforts. In
the past, though mistakes have been made by even the most reputable of news providers, credibility
was maintained and public trust in the journalist industry was steady. However, with the Internet
taking its first infant steps into the reporting world, concern is being vocalized that public trust in
journalism will be damaged by mavericks, such as Matt Drudge, who, without any foundation in
reporting seek to tell the entire world every little secret he can dig up. And he s been wrong.
This paper will examine the debate surrounding online journalism, including ... Show more content on

For example, National Press Club president Doug Harbrecht, before the entire press club assembly in
1998, stated, Matt, know this...there are many in this hallowed room who do not consider you a
journalist. Harbrecht also likened Drudge to a channel catfish, stating, He mucks through the hoaxes,
conspiracies and half truths posted online in pursuit of fodder for his website.
National media monitors such as Howard Kurtz and Judy Mann denounce Drudge as a Cyberspace
vacuum cleaner. Michael Kinsley, editor of Microsoft s online magazine Slate, said Drudge has
certainly been a public relations problem for the Internet. Steven Brill called Drudge a bust. (Miller)
Baltimore Sun Washington correspondent Jules Witcover has referred to him as the abomination of the
Internet. I don t consider him a journalist or a reporter, said Witcover. He s a gossipmonger who offers
no sources. He s more like a magpie.
These opinions of Drudge seem to be widely held within the traditional journalist community.
Drudge, 34, is a self styled cyberspace patriot who thrives on news scoops via Drudge Report , has
found fame at a fast and furious pace. (Webster) Drudge, who has no formal education in the practice
of journalism, admits that he was a D student in high school and never went to college. He worked in

Difference Between History And Prehistory
a. What is prehistory and how is this concept or term defined?
ANSWER: Prehistory is the era before people could write. It is the time and events that happened
before the history has written down and led to the development of something. [ ] Others defined
prehistory as from the creation of the universe, while some refer to it as time since the development of
life on earth. But others mainly define prehistory as the period of time beginning with the appearance
of human beings. Basically, prehistoric period is the era when the existence of human beings began. [ ]

did it begin and what were the reasons for its beginning?

The Ordinary Men of the Holocaust
The average person s understanding of the Holocaust is the persecution and mass murder of Jews by
the Nazi s, most are unaware that the people behind the atrocities of the Holocaust came from all over
Europe and a wide variety of backgrounds. Art Spiegelman s Maus: a Survivor s Tale, Christopher
Browning s Ordinary Men: Reserve Battalion 101 and the Final Solution, and Jan Gross s Neighbors:
The Destruction of the Jewish Community in Jedbwabne, Poland, all provides a different perspective
on how ordinary people felt about their experiences in the Holocaust both perpetrators and victims.
Art Spiegelman s Maus: a Survivor s Tale is particularly unique in that it is a graphic novel, not

The Jews were the enemy, and many men justified this by dehumanizing the Jews and distancing
themselves psychologically which enabled the continued killing.
Each of these novels takes on a different perspective of the Holocaust. The common theme among
each is that it was ordinary human beings who did extraordinary things during the Holocaust. The
average perception is that the perpetrators of the Holocaust were inherently evil, monstrous and
immoral people, they must have been to commit such heinous acts? This is not the case. It was
ordinary Europeans who for varying reasons including, wartime brutalization and lack of a collective
identity carried out much of the Nazi s Final Solution.

Dionyysia Research Paper
Drama played a major role in the life of classical Athens. Tragedies and comedies were performed in
the city as part of an important religious festival, the Festival of Dionysia. A large proportion of the
plays were about the City of Dionysia. During the sixth century BCE, the tyrant Pisistratus established
the festival called the City of Dionysia. It took place in Elaphebolion, a month to the last half of
March and the first half of April. During the classical period, this festival lasted several days and
included several types of performances, which were also competitions for important honour and prizes
as many aspects of Athenian society were highly competitive. Plays were only presented at City
Dionysia festival. The festivals were attended ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This included: the bringing in, procession, revel, contests (tragedies, satyr play, comedy, dithyrambs)
and the assembly. Each part of the festival proved important to Athenian society in many different
ways including the way they honour Dionysus and other God s of drama. In the tragic competition,
each of three tragic poets wrote, produced and acted in three tragedies on a single theme. Each poet
also presented a satyr play. Judges awarded a prize to the best poet. The festival often began with a
procession through the city. This was believed to be a blessing of the crops of Athens so farmers
would have a fruitful harvest. As the procession progressed toward the temple of Dionysia, Athenian
citizens rejoiced, dancing and playing instruments such as tambourines. The festival began with
dithyrambs, or songs sung by a large chorus of usually fifty men. The remainder of the festival was
dedicated to dramatic competitions in which five new plays were performed and judges gave prizes to
the best authors and actors. Keeping with the theme of three, actors usually assembled on stage in
threes, and only men were allowed to perform. If there were roles that were meant for women, male
actors played as the

The Bad Luck Kennedys Essay
The Kennedy family, the quintessential all American family, filled with some of the country s best and
brightest. That special family contains a soldier, a few senators, and even a president, the famous John
Franklin Kennedy. However, some of us have probably heard about the bad luck this family seems to
run into, from a botched lobotomy to that famous JFK assassination. The whole entire family seems
cursed, those ghastly curses ranging from Rosemary Kennedy s misdiagnosis and rather unfortunate
botched lobotomy, to John F. Kennedy s assassination. It s sad to see a well respected family go
through such tragedies, it s almost as the world was plotting against these people. In this essay, I will

However, according to Ronald Kessler, she was able to write endearing letters, dance, and even do
arithmetic. Contrary to her then diagnosis, she was not mentally retarded; her IQ was above 75, well
past the range of mental retardation. As Rosemary grew older though, her once sweet disposition
turned bitter. Joe Kennedy, Rosemary s father banned her from the household, after which, he
contacted two surgeons in Washington state: Dr. Freeman and Dr. Watts. Dr. Freeman supervised Dr.
Watts surgery on Rosemary. Rosemary was given a mild tranquilizer; Dr. Watts recalling his surgery
from those many years remembers making a rather small surgical incision through her skull, near the
front, and on both sides. As. Dr. Watts performed the surgery, Dr. Freeman asked Rosemary questions
such as reciting the Lord s Prayer, to sing God Bless America or count backwards. Her pulse and
blood pressure rose as Dr. Watts continued to cut. As the surgery went on, she began to grow
incoherent, they soon stopped. Many symptoms described by Rose and Kathleen included irritability

Analysis Of Penny Stock Case Study
Penny Stock Case Study
The two stories talk about the meteoric price surge in the stock of a company called Cynk Technology
Corporation, with no actual revenue and tangible assets, and the purported manipulation of the stock
price through a pump and dump strategy. It can be seen how the Securities and Exchange Commission
together with the Department of Justice opened an indictment charging several people with
conspiracy, tax fraud and money laundering involving up to $500 million in assets routed through
offshore shell corporations that allowed clients to influence stock prices and hide their gains.
Generally, the fraudsters take control of an enterprise and offer to sell a chunk of shares usually to the
unsuspecting public with promises of very high returns. Promoters broadcast the company s prospects
by telling financiers to get in early before the rest of the market dives in the pump. Shares are often
bought and sold between fraudsters to give the appearance of active trading, further amplifying
interest as brokers contact clients to buy the stock. Once the price starts rising, the control block can
be dumped on the market, leaving investors with shares in a nearly worthless business (Bouraoui,
Mehanaoui Bahli, 2012). It also parleys the increase of penny stock fraud and the Securities and
Exchange Commission s inability to prosecute the fraudsters and protect investors.

The Life Of Superman Saves Seven Children
Thinking back to my admittedly privileged childhood, the most vivid memory I had wasn t of my first
dance recital, or my first lacrosse game, or even my first fist fight that I won against my seventh grade
bully. It wasn t even of the day when my father was brutally murdered in front of my sister and I when
we were thirteen. No, the most evocative memory I had was the day I purchased the newspaper for my
parents at age twelve and saw, sprawled across the cover, the headline that changed my life forever.
SUPERMAN SAVES SEVEN CHILDREN; PRAISED AS HERO ONCE MORE.
That day, I took my alarmingly large amount of allowance, went down to the novelty store across the
road, and bought sixty seven dollars worth of Superman merchandise. I came home with six comic
books, three old newspapers, an action figure, a skimpy tank top that made its way to college with me
before being puked all over, and a notepad that would later fuel my journalistic obsession to become
as great as Lois Lane, Superman s girl of choice.
A month after acquiring that first newspaper for my parents, my father left the world with a bullet hole
placed cleanly in the center of both eyes.
Soon after my Superman obsession began to dwindle in my first year of college, the masked hero
Batman faced off with his archenemy and made headlines in Gotham, where I attended school. So I
traded in my Superman shorts for a Batman shirt and went searching for him on the streets at night,
desperate.

Socrates vs Protagoras
Philosophy
Socrates a sophist? Or just sophisticated?
Plato goes a long way in attempting to distinguish Socrates from the likes of Protagoras, a self
admitted sophist. In Protagoras, Socrates is depicted as a street smart, wisdom dispensing young man,
brash with confidence and a bit of arrogance that goes a long way when confronted with the old
school rhetoric of Protagoras. Plato begins to separate the two at the hip right from the get go. The
dialogue between Socrates and his inquisitive friend Hippocrates went a long way to show that
Socrates had more questions than answers about Protagoras, the sophist, especially when it came to
talk about what it is exactly that he offers. Socrates companion is eager to hear the words of ... Show

He preferred those who wish to learn from him, to come to him. The other sophist of the times
traveled through the towns teaching anyone at arms length, a method that was in much higher danger
of criticism than the one adopted by Protagoras.
A sophist would speak, a sophist would teach, a sophist would use language and words to manipulate
a situation to fit his point. A sophist would engulf you in his words and make the impossible seem
possible. A sophist would share his views on the world, life, and the future with you; he would make
you see the light of day even if it was night. A sophist was a wise man who had the gift of gab, the
ability to influence, the ability to sway, the ability to teach the young how to be better speakers. All of
the qualities that Socrates claimed he did not possess. Socrates was depicted as a clever man, yet one
who never taught, never persuaded, never tried to make his thoughts shared by others. He was not a
sophist, not a teacher, not a wise man . A wise man knows that he knows nothing . Socrates always
spoke of the fact that he was not a sophist because he was only out for the truth. He never wanted you
to believe his words just because they came out of his mouth, he only asked the questions that were
necessary to draw out the map to the truth buried down below the layers of rhetoric.

Surface Area To Volume Ratio
Single celled organisms are small meaning that their surface area is big compared to their volume.
These organisms have a large surface area to volume ratio which means that they can obtain different
substances by diffusion through their relatively large plasma membrane. The substances have to
diffuse only short distances so they can diffuse at a faster rate and meet the organism s needs. Multi
cellular organisms have a much smaller surface area to volume ratio. Many of their cells are not in
direct contact with their surroundings so they cannot solely rely on diffusion to supply all of their
organs with oxygen and nutrients, as the distance from their surface to all cells is too far. Humans are

What is blood pressure?
Blood pressure is a measure of the pressure exerted by the blood against artery walls. Blood varies
with heartbeat strength, age, blood volume, health and fitness. Blood pressure is measured as two
numbers, e.g. 120/80 these numbers represent systolic and diastolic the big number is systolic which
the blood pressure is during a heartbeat and the smaller number is diastolic which the blood pressure
in between heartbeats is. The numbers show pressure reading in mm of mercury.
How does blood pressure affect health?
High blood pressure can make blood vessels more likely to burst, and can cause strokes and kidney

Importance Of Psalm 116
Psalm 116 is a great read for us as Christians and for us as moms. Psalms 116 speaks of the benefits
and blessings of God s Word. But, in order to get the benefits and blessings of the Word we must first
study, meditate, and walk out the passages. My greatest motivation for keeping God s Word close to
my heart and my study game strong is my children.
At some point our children will leave us, they will leave our homes and start their own, they will leave
a piece of our family as they marry and begin their own. How refreshing is it to know that the wisdom
and discretion they learn from God s Word is able to protect and guard them even when we can t be
with them. Here s the question though, how will our children learn of God s Word?
Let s dive in, start off by reading Psalm 116:9 16.
9.How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word. 10. I seek you with all
my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. 11. I have hidden your word in my heart that I
might not sin against you 12.Praise be to you, O Lord; teach me your decrees. 13. With my lips I
recount all the laws that come from your mouth. 14. I rejoice in following your statues as one rejoices
in great riches. 15. I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways. 16. I delight in your decrees; I
will not neglect your word.
1. What are some of the ways the psalmist sought after God s Word?
Now read Psalm 116:49 52.
49. Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope.

Annotated Bibliography On Database Encryption
1. INTRODUCTION Database Encryption is one of the technique used for securing the data in
database. This method transforms information on a computer in such a way that it becomes
unreadable. So, even if someone is able to gain access to a computer with personal data on it, they
likely won t be able to do anything with the data unless they have original data key, complicated or
expensive software. The main function of encryption is essentially to translate normal text into cipher
text. Encryption makes sure that data doesn t get read by the wrong people, but can also ensure that
data isn t altered in transit, and verify the identity of the sender. Data Encryption method typically uses
a specified parameter or key to perform the data transformation. Some encryption algorithms require
the key to be the same length as the message to be encoded, yet other encryption algorithms can
operate on much smaller keys relative to the message. Encryption is most used among transactions
over insecure channels of communication, such as the internet. Encryption is also used to protect data
being transferred between devices such as mobile telephones, automatic teller machines (ATMs), and
many more. Encryption can be used to create digital signatures, which allow a message to be
authenticated. When properly implemented, a digital signature gives the recipient of a message reason
to believe the message was sent by the claimed sender. 2. THREATS TO DATABASE 2.1 Database

Chronic Effects Of Chronic Water Intake
Introduction
Water is crucial for life. Most biological processes require water to be present for it to occur. Without
water there is no medium for these processes to occur, therefore we must fully understand the
consequences of dehydration. Dehydration is a condition that is caused by excessive loss of body
water. It has been known that dehydration is associated with acute renal dysfunction, and it has been
considered reversible with no long term effects on the kidney. However, there has been an increasing
number of epidemiological studies suggesting that irregular water intake, leading to recurrent events
of dehydration, is a risk factor for developing and progressing the conditions of chronic kidney disease
(CKD). Due to the high prevalence in both the initial and final stages of CKD, it has become a global
health burden. Although there have been many studies linking recurrent dehydration with the
development and progression of CKD, only a handful of studies looked into the long term impacts of
chronic water restriction on the progression of CKD and the core mechanisms associated with it. Apart
from water regulation, the kidney also affects the cardiovascular system, with many studies
associating CKD with cardiovascular diseases (CVS). Therefore, it is important to understand the
causes of CKD to prevent the risk of developing CVS in CKD. In this review we will look at how
recurrent dehydration causes CKD. Firstly, the role of how the kidney regulates water balance is

The Negative Impact Of Social Media s Impact On Our Lives
The social media is one of the important technological innovations in human history. The use of the
social media helps us do many of our tasks with more ease and in less time. On the other hand, it has
some adverse effects on today s human life like addiction, obesity and other health problems. There
are several ways that prove social media improved the way we communicate with each other,
including feasibility of voice and video calls, ability share information to each other and increase
motivation for all the students. The first way that the social media affects our lives is the feasibility of
voice and video calls. For instance, people who live far from their loved ones definitely know the
value of this tools. Today, for example, Facebook has made it possible for people living in two
different countries to see and talk to each other, which is something that no one could even imagine to
do a century ago. They can use video conferencing facilities to work with each other without having
an office or meeting face to face. It has changed the way people communicate and how they react to
being away from their homes and their loved ones. So, some people believe these services are useful
because they let people be more widely connected with other countries. Another instance, when I was
far away from my sister, so I used Facebook and Telegram to see my sister that was so pleasant for us.
The second reason, that social media is very important technology for communicate with each

The Continental Army Of General Washington
The Continental Army, under the command of General Washington, had followed the British forces to
an area located in Freehold, NJ. General Washington s use of IPB played out on multiple fronts during
the pre battle phase. In one aspect, General Washington directed forces under the command of Major
General Charles Lee to harass the British rear guard. This started June 18, 1778, as the British forces
exited Philadelphia with 12,000 personnel and 12 mile baggage train (Stryker, 1927). The baggage
train consisted of personnel goods, minimal resupplies, and basic food items. General Washington also
had troops add to the challenges of the movement by mudding wells, destroying bridges and
constructing blockades on roads. Unbeknownst to General Clinton, General Washington had sent an
advance unit to direct the New Jersey Militia. Generals William Maxwell and Philemon Dickerson,
ordered the NJ Militia to destroy nearly every bridge along known routes (Mitnick, 2005). This caused
General Clinton to either repair the bridges or wade across shallow rivers crosses leading to the further
exhaustion his men and beasts of burden. This also directed the British troops to move towards the
Monmouth courthouse. The Continentals prediction of routes through IPB allowed for continuous
harassment of the British troops while at a safe distance. General Clinton used the date of June 27th,
to rest his men and reconnoiter the areas by scouts. He used his scouts to determine possible

Dark Side of Beauty Pageants Essay
The Dark Side of Beauty Pageants With their glamour, expensive dresses, jewels and, big fake smiles,
beauty pageant contestants are just hiding their true personalities under materialistic things. People

ages range from 2 years old to 60+ years old. The fact that contestants lie about their beliefs in order

This shows that beauty pageants do have a large impact on the way people view themselves, causing
eating disorders. Over all beauty pageants have brought eating disorders, low self esteem and
depression to many women in our society. Many beauty contestants lie about their true feelings about
certain topics just so they will receive a good score in the questioning/ personality aspect of the
contest. People may say that contestants describe their true beliefs. An example of this is when Miss
California described her anti gay marriage beliefs to pro gay marriage judges. Miss California (Carrie
Prejean) may have discussed her true feelings about her political views on gay marriage, but she was
then negatively judged on her beliefs about gay marriage. Wow. We re stunned on many levels. First,
that a judge would actually suggest a contestant say what the judges want to hear, not what she really
believes (Augusta Chronicle). This refers to judges that want to hear the things they believe in. If the
contestant has the same beliefs and view as the judge they will be scored higher. Also Perez Hilton
stated on the Today show that Carrie Prejean should have left her politics and religion out because
Miss USA represents all Americans (Boston.com). If Miss California left her politics and religion out
of this how else would she have stated her point without people knowing where she was coming from?

Vulnerabilities Within The US Marine Transportation System...
The MTS consists of ocean, coastal, and inland waterways, ports, intermodal connections (connecting

The Passion Of The Christ
Passion of the Christ
In this film Passion of the Christ the scene begins with Jesus being brought into a Roman court yard
bound in shackles and chains, limping and visibly beaten from the night before. Jesus was arrested in
the early am hours so that any protest of the Pharisees behaviors would not be made. The elders of the
Synagogue want to be in full control of what happens to Jesus. In this analysis I will explain my
viewpoint of Why it was so vital for bad things to happen to this man and What good can come from
violence being displayed in this manner?
Jesus is brought in to stand trial before Pilate a Roman governor. Pilate clearly does not want to
condemn this man; this was partly because he sees no real crime committed and partly because of a
vision his wife had in a dream. Pilate first asks the Jewish High Priests Do you always punish your
prisoners before they re judged? Pilate questions Caiaphas and Jesus and finds no merit worthy of
death and tries to pass the decision of Jesus fate off to King Herod. However, King Herod gets
nowhere with his line of questioning towards Jesus so he sends the decision back to Pilate. Pilate
undeniably does not wish to crucify this man and attempts to free him by allowing a choice for a
prisoner to be freed. Yet, to his surprise the people decide to free Barabbas, a murder, over freeing
Jesus, a non violent man. This decision was thanks to the persuasion of Caiaphas and the other men of
the cloth. Once again, Pilate

Radio Network Performance For Indoor Cellular Systems
Radio Network Performance for Indoor Cellular Systems Keshav Kumar Bollu (M547X932) Abstract
Indoor wireless systems with cellular technology provides good coverage and high capacity with great
potential if a large number of small radio ports are connected to a centralized radio network controller.
Various radio network solutions are investigated based on this approach. Architecture of a base station
sub system (BSS) is presented and the proposed BSS is based on a distributed architecture. The cost
economical solution for indoor wireless deployment is presented that meets indoor capacity need and
provides good indoor coverage. Antenna hopping is done, which transmits information continuously
on different antennas. The Radio Resource ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
High traffic capacity is achieved with smaller cells and microcell systems which cover downtown
hotspot areas. Microcells are characterized by lower antenna heights and lower power levels when
compared with ordinary macrocells and hence offer high outdoor traffic capacity but low indoor
coverage. Thus an indoor system should supply better coverage and high capacity simultaneously.
These needs are fulfilled by using a large number of small radio ports into the cellular system. Several
solutions are available to increase the system capacity: frequency reuse by reducing the cell size,
dynamic resource allocation, slow frequency hopping, hierarchical cells etc. The transmission link
performance is a key property of a wireless communication system as it determines the coverage of
the system. An improvement of the transmission link performance provides a cost effective way of
increasing capacity by allowing reuse of tighter channel. A method of improving the transmission link
performance of a wireless communication system is discussed here. These needs are satisfied by
arranging a huge number of small radio ports to the existing cellular system. Spot coverage is
provided for those areas which are hard or impossible to cover with the outdoor cells. The radio ports
transmit with very low power for a small coverage area and keeping the generated interference low.
The reuse of traffic channels between the small areas covered by the radio ports can possibly be very
frequent

An Analysis Of To His Coy Mistress By Andrew Marvell
In the poem, To His Coy Mistress, by Andrew Marvell, The narrator is writing a letter to a woman he
is courting, which the storyteller feels that life is short and this woman needs to stop showing mixed
feelings towards him, to know her true feelings. The narrator is convinced that there is not enough
time for this woman to be shy, regarding her feelings to him, in addition to, his opinion of believing
that he is the best man for her, but if this woman does not feel the same way, then let the narrator live
his life and to not make him wait for a decision from her. The message of this poem that is conveyed
by the author, life is too short to wait on someone else s decision of whether a person feels the same
way, or if they are being timid about how they feel about someone. One of the main points made by
Marvell, is that life is too short for this lady to mull over whether she likes the author or does not want
to pursue anything other than friendship, instead of what the author wants, love and marriage. In this
excerpt from the poem by Marvell is stating that he feels that there will not be enough time before this
woman decides how she feels about the narrator. But at my back I always hear /Time s wingèd chariot
hurrying near; And yonder all before us lie /Deserts of vast eternity, (21 24). Secondly, the author is
convinced that his love will be the best for this woman that he is courting. Marvell feels that his love
is perfect for this woman, as evidenced in

was really a force to be reckoned with. In the end, the Sauk Rapids tornado lasted only about thirteen
minutes, but devastatingly killed 72 people and injured more than 200 and caused over $400,000 in
damages. In 2015 dollars, that would be roughly $10.4 million dollars (NWS Des Moines). All of this
is why the Sauk Rapids tornado became known as the deadliest tornado ever in Minnesota history.
Though the Sauk Rapids tornado destroyed the city of Sauk Rapids, the city was still able to rebuild

Ethical Hedonism In Robert Nozick s The Experience Machine
Robert Nozick was a modern day American philosopher, who had a large variety of philosophical
questions regarding the workings of the modern world (Feser), in 1974 Nozick finished work on his
book which would give birth to the Experience Machine . In Anarchy, State, and Utopia (Nozick
1974), Nozick created the thought experiment The Experience Machine with which he attempts to
challenge the idea of ethical hedonism (42). The Experience Machine is a thought experiment, in
which a person is given the choice of entering a machine that would stimulate pleasure into a person s
brain using a machine, and that the person could not distinguish the differences between the machine
and reality, in some variations of the experiment, once a person enters the machine, that person cannot
leave. (Nozick 1974, 42 43) According to Nozick, a person should choose not to enter the Experience
Machine, Nozick expresses that it would be unethical to enter the Experience Machine due to none of
those experiences, and the memories that come from them, being real, and that since they are all
created in a man made reality, that they should hold no value to a person (43). Nozick s notion that
one should choose not to enter the Experience Machine is correct, while it allows people to experience
anything they ever wanted, a person should not enter the Experience Machine, because it creates a
false sense of reality due to how people cannot differentiate the two, it doesn t allow people to do
things

Oppression And Poverty In A Piece Of Streak By Jack London
In the short story, A Piece of Streak by Jack London, the ideation of oppression and poverty by
displayed the protagonist , Tom King, he is a retired fighter, that struggles with his current situation.
The sense of struggle and sadness is developed through the reoccurring themes of oppression and
poverty, symbolism of the tobacco less pipe and the dull and lifeless tone created through diction and
literary devices. The theme of oppression is one of the main concepts that is explored by his failure to
provide the basics of life, including: food, proper clothes, and a reliable income. Without these basic
needs of life, a family in society would be considered improvised. The reader learns that the King
family struggles to provide food for the children. The narrator states that, the two children in the other
room had been sent early to bed in order that in sleep they might forget they had gone supperless
(London 1). The inability to provide a meal for his children and wife is a clear example of poverty. In
connection, the only food they are able to purchase is considered lower class food. The narrator
mentions that Tom s dinner consisted of. flour [that have been borrowed from the neighbour] for the
gravy. The last two ha pennies had gone to buy bread (1). As mentioned before, bread and low quality
gravy is a lower class meal and is inexpensive. However, the family is still unable to provide food for
dinner, one of the basics of life. Another component that is mentioned by the narrator that reflects
oppression and poverty is the fact that they do not have proper and purposeful clothing. Within the
character description, it is stated that Tom s appearance consists of a cotton shirt, a cheap, two shilling
affair, showed a frayed collar (1). Due to lack of financial security, they are unable to provide better
clothes. The theme of oppression and poverty is an significant to develop the plot and create images
throughout the text. The symbolism of the pipe is a significant to the theme of oppression and poverty,
while developing the protagonist. The pipe represents what he used to have, which is now gone. In his
youthful years, Tom was a successful fighter. However, as he aged, he became unable to continue

Voltaire s View Of Candide
Voltaire s Candide is a satirical work written in 1759 as a commentary during the Enlightenment. One
of Voltaire s most famous works, it also functioned to reflect Voltaire s opinions. Candide is
considered Voltaire s signature work in which he levels his sharpest criticism against nobility,
philosophy, the church, and human cruelty. Though often considered a representative text of the
Enlightenment era, the novel criticizes a number of Enlightenment philosophies. As reading and books
were a sign of wealth in that time, the trend among nobility was reading. The criticisms and ridicule
within the satirical nature of Candide had much to do with the nobility and their standards and ideas,
especially in contrast with those of the lower classes. Through the form and technique of satire in
Candide, Voltaire suggests the absurdity of societal principles and theories.
Throughout the novel, Candide s teacher and philosopher, Pangloss, persists in his paternalistic
optimism theory. He continually expresses his belief that this world is the best of all possible worlds
and that everything happens and exists for a reason. One example is after the earthquake in Lisbon,
killing 30,000 people, Pangloss comments, For, said he, all that is for the best. If there is a volcano at
Lisbon it cannot be elsewhere. It is impossible that things should be other than they are; for everything
is right (5.14). Pangloss insists that the volcano was made for the exact purpose of the earthquake

Antonio De Curtiss Influence On American Culture
Italian and American actors and directors indeed become ambassadors of their culture. They are

years upon years to become noticed , other times it may take only a year or even less. An italian actor
and comedian that took little to no time in being noticed was Antonio De Curtis or more popularly
known as Totó.
Antonio De Curtis was born on February 15th, 1898 in the little town of Rione Sanitá in Naples, Italy.
He stayed in town until elementary school, then he was shipped off to a boarding school where he

Coming Of Age Throughout Mississippi

United States History II

Coming of Age in Mississippi The book Coming of Age in Mississippi goes into detail about a very
prominent time in United States history. The book takes us back to a time where the issue of civil
rights began to rise eventually reaching its peak marking this an unforgettable time in history for that
generation and for generations to come. During this time the south in general was already a tough
place to be in, but the in the Deep South things were even worse, which is where the story takes place.
Not only was race a huge issue other things factored into these trying times such as huge levels of
poverty, and various acts of violence. Although all of these factors played a crucial part to the make up
of the Civil Rights Movement, the one that stands out the most is prejudice with the other factors such
as unfair gender roles and poverty falling suit behind. Anne Moody shares different stages of her life
throughout the book, starting from her childhood documenting life changing events all the way
through her adult life. We learn in the beginning that Moody had many difficult times during her
childhood. From her home life to the way she was treated outside of her home. Her family was torn
apart when she was young, and for many children that can be extremely tough leaving a life long

Time Big Data Processing with Machine Learning On Real Estate Business By Jasleen Kaur Raghav
Munjal Shubham Rajvanshi Della Sivakumar Data is a powerful weapon as well as a resource. Having
data does not make you powerful but what you do with it makes all the difference. Companies like
Amazon, eBay and Netflix are already using data to predict user behavior and utilizing that to increase
their revenue. But processing data in real time is not an easy task. The data today has great volume, is
veracious in nature and is increasing at an enormous rate and hence has been given the term Big Data.
There is a constant research going on to find a solution to process such huge amount of data in real
time. The Hadoop based batch processing is a powerful tool for analyzing data offline. But it fails to
process anything in real time. Highly sensitive situations like crediting card fraud detection,
networking fault prediction; threat detection and so on cannot be postponed for an offline analysis.
Situations like these need instant results because if something is not done to mitigate a potential threat
in real time, the damage may be catastrophic. The goal of this project is to come up with a scalable
and efficient solution which can process heterogeneous data in the most simplified design possible in
real time. Existing solutions are either not scalable or approach one kind of data and in

Federal Elections Campaign Act of 1974
Following the Watergate scandal, the Federal Elections Campaign Act of 1974 was amended to create
the regulatory agency, known as the Federal Elections Commission, in 1975. The duties of the FEC
consist largely of enforcing regulation, limitation, and prohibition on financial contributions to federal
campaigns, candidates, political parties, and political action committees. The Act has thoroughly set
limits on the amount of money a person or committee may donate to the previously mentioned
situations. For example, an individual can donate no more than $2,600 to any federal campaign per
election, and a combined limit of $10,000 to local and state parties every calendar year. The case at
hand involves Shaun McCutcheon challenging the aggregate limits as a violation of the First
Amendment right of expression. An Alabaman Conservative businessman, McCutcheon expressed
that he wished to donate more than the contributions he was able to make in the last election cycle. He
wanted to contribute an amount that would stay within base limits but surpass aggregate limits set by
the FEC. In distric court, the plaintiffs claimed aggregate limits as unconstitutional and impeding on a
First Amendment right. The district court system ruled against the plaintiff, asserting that the
government could regulate aggregate limits because it would be preventing corruption or the
appearance of corruption. When brought before the Supreme Court, the court s ruling removed the

This art pictures Jesus as the Miracle Worker . This is explained in full in Matthew 12:22 33. This
story explains how Jesus sent the disciples by ship back to the other side of the Sea of Galilee after
they became caught in a wind storm. When the first saw Jesus on the water they were frightened. They
believed he was a ghost. Jesus said to them not to be afraid. In the Gospel of Matthew, Peter walked
on the water towards Jesus, but doubted himself and began to sink. Jesus reached out and caught him.
After Jesus entered the ship, the storm settled, and they arrived at land. Christian teachings consider
the story a miracle and displays the importance of faith. Peter didn t believe he could achieve what he
set out to do, and ultimately due to this he didn t succeed. This sacred story is another example of how
religion provides certain ways to live to benefit yourself and others. This interacts with spirituality as
these teachings allow people to develop personally and have a better state of mind. The main symbol
evident is the light that appears out of the darkness when Jesus appears on the surface of the water.
This symbol represents hope as Jesus has come to rescue them from the storm. The light also appeared
as Jesus calmed the storm and so the light would be perceived as a symbol for life and happiness as

Disadvantages Of International Trust Law
The International Trust Law (No. 69/1992) legislation facilitates the formation and administration of
an international trust. The law built on the existing Cyprus trust legislation of 1995 (The Trustees Law,
CAP. 193). The amendment of Cyprus trust legislation introduces innovative provisions and provides
considerable incentives for the establishment of trusts in Cyprus. Furthermore, Cyprus becomes an
attractive centre for international trusts. As a result, new investment opportunities have emerged.
Trust is defined as a legal relationship created when an individual (the Settlor ) places assets under the
responsibility and control of an individual (the Trustee ) for the benefit of some other person or people
(the Beneficiaries ) or for a particular purpose. That is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the case of charitable or purpose trust then the duration is unlimited.
Confidentiality: Based on the Fiduciary Law, there is no requirement for the disclosure of the names
of the Settlor, the Beneficiaries or the Protector. Nonetheless, the Trustee is obliged to give the
necessary information to the Supervision Body. The name of the Trust, the date of the establishment,
the date of termination, the name and the address of the Trustee are kept on a confidential basis.
Flexibility: Cyprus Law enables the removal of a trust from its jurisdictions and vice versa. That is to
say, it is provided the necessary flexibility whether a change of circumstances may necessitate this
kind of transfer, for fiscal or other reasons.
Accumulation of Income: The Cyprus Law allows trust income to be accumulated through the
duration of the trust.
Power to alter the applicable law of an International Trust: This option is found in the majority of
modern offshore trust laws. Precisely, it allows the Cyprus Law Trust to be altered to a foreign law. On
the other hand, it enables a foreign trust to adopt the Cyprus

The Invention Of The World Wide Web
The present society of today embodies a distinct shape, organization, role, and feel from the societies
of a millennium ago, a century ago, or even a decade ago. These metamorphoses are, in part, caused
by the multiple technological revolutions that our society has experienced throughout its history. Each
time a technological revolution occurs when a novel technology is introduced to build upon or succeed
an older one the entire society (and the individuals that comprise it) changes. However, as Marshall
McLuhan suggested within the printed pages of Understanding Media: The Extensions of Man, the
medium is the message (McLuhan 1964). In other words, these shifts are not as much the direct result
of the invention s content or it s use, as they are the outcomes of effects that are intrinsic within the
technology itself. Although McLuhan published this work in 1964, almost thirty years before the
invention of the World Wide Web, this adage still holds true for the Internet today.
Technologies, such as the Internet, should not be viewed, using the instrumentalist perspective, as
inherently neutral tools that are valuable only for their ends, intended purposes, or practical benefits
(Ellul, Wilkinson, and Merton 1964, Carr 2010, 45). Rather, the means themselves, or what McLuhan
would consider the medium, should also be recognized as carrying messages that hold powerful,
unintended consequences for society (Ellul, Wilkinson, and Merton 1964, McLuhan 1964). In

Blue Zone Culture
The biggest difference between the Blue Zones and the Rest of America is their culture. In these areas,
individuals tend to be naturally more active and eat healthier. In all three areas, they eat a mainly plant
based diet in combination with other fresh, healthy foods like whole wheat bread, nuts, beans, and
cheese full of Omega 3 fatty acids. These communities also find natural ways to keep them active
walking wherever they go, gardening, bike riding and most importantly finding ways to stay active if
they choose to retire. These cultures also tend to have a social system that finds pride in their elders,
so aging adults are surrounded with family and friends. They also pride taking time to relax and
destress reducing stress hormones like cortisol. From the Blue Zone type of behaviors, I try to be
active. With class and work, I do not always get to get out from the desk, but I go to the gym four or
five days a week. I lift weights every day and do some sort of cardio at least three days a week. I try to

This perspective uses different aspects of biology, psychology, and social processes to explain and
understand aging. The biological aspects of aging would obviously highlight that healthy, active
individuals with good genetics would age more successfully. The cultures of the Blue Zones
encourage healthy habits which help increase the life span. Healthy habits can also help slow down, or
even stop, some of the processes of primary and secondary aging these factors include natural and
illness related changes. Cultures that promote cleaner eating habits and active lifestyles will naturally
have a better chance of having healthy and happy elderly. Blue Zones tend to be small, close
communities since they are so small and tight knit families may tend to stay in the area for
generations. Having communities with several generations of a family line would lead to better
genetics for that family

What Are The Three Sociological Perspectives
In America, there are many different corporations and groups of people that make us what we are.
With every different setting, there are new norms, values, beliefs, and ways of doing things. Sociology
then studies those different aspects of a place and sees how they shape the social world that we live in.
Within sociology, there is three main perspectives that a sociologist can see the world. Through Social
Interactionism, Functionalism, and Marxism and Social Conflict, the workplace, church, and federal
agencies can be seen in a different way. Social interactionism is the perspective that zooms into the
individual interactions of people and studies the exchange of symbols through social interactions. One

To him, conflict was a normal feature of society and through conflict, people could make their lives
better. At the workplace, conflict is very natural. Take for instance the problem that the Record
Democrat has almost every week, a slow news week. Granted, this newspaper in only printed once a
week, but in a small town sometimes nothing really happens. With this problem, several other
conflicts arise. One of the bigger conflicts created is the amount of blank space left once the paper is
laid out. This is then dealt with by what the workers call, fillers. Fillers are ads that promote the R D,
and make people want to buy a subscription. Another large thought of Marx, is the using of power by
groups and individuals to promote their interest. Marxist could look at these fillers as a way that
power is exerted onto the public. People have to buy subscriptions in order for the R D to stay in
business and keep producing the newspaper. The power comes from being the only newspaper
company around. If the R D goes out of business, there will be no more local news. A place where
conflict never seems to happen, but occurs all the time, is at the local church. How could a place of
such harmony and grace have large amounts of conflict? One example that has recently arose was
when St. Peter got a new pastor. She was a very nice middle aged women who had a different way of
teaching from the bible. Pastor J (this was what she went by) taught in a way that connected things to
the modern world and spoke of the biblical teachings in a modern tongue. One of the big concepts that
she always talked about was justice for the world and righteousness. The extremely traditional high
council members of the church did not like this new way that Pastor J spoke of the world. It went
against the self centeredness that the church thrived off of. This was a huge conflict within the church,
actually splitting the congregation

A Meeting At The First Congregational Church
I went to an AA meeting at the First Congregational Church in New London, Connecticut on Monday
February 22, at 7 pm. It was located in a larger room in the basement of the church. There were
around fifteen members that attended. The individual s came from an array of different ages and
ethnicities, both men and woman. There was no one race or ethnicity that dominated another in the
meeting, it was a very warm, accepting atmosphere. I noticed right away that there was more young
adults around the age of thirty than elderly members. There was also around the same number of
males and females in attendance. The meeting began with the appointed leader asking if there were
any new members in the group, and gave them a chance to introduce themselves. I also introduced
myself at this time, and explained my role as a student. They then transitioned into reciting the
serenity prayer and having a moment of silence, allowing them to give thanks to their higher power.
The leader then had different individuals recite the week s motivational phrase and reflect on the
quote. The quote talked about forgiving yourself as an alcoholic, and the concept of letting go of the
guilt that they have over hurting themselves and the people that they love when they were under the
influence. This topic was very triggering for the members, and lead them into a very power discussion
around the different people in their lives that were directly affected by their drinking. One woman

Uk and Us Accounting Standards
In today s unpredictable stock markets, it is extremely important for investors to expand investments
to minimize risk and earn reasonable returns on funds. The diversification does not have to be
restricted to domestic companies because of opportunities available in foreign markets. On the other
hand, securities analysis becomes more complex because of supplementary variables such as foreign
exchange risk, political, economic, cultural diversities, etc. that need to be taken into deliberation in
making investment judgment. A significant variable in the analysis of foreign securities is various
accounting standards. The accounting standard of United States (US) and United Kingdom (UK) and
identifies the major differences that materially ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In contrast the US structure is a fragment more complex than that of the UK. To understand
accounting standard setting in the US, one must start with the SEC (Securities and Exchange
Commission) which is a regulatory agency established in 1934 by the congress. Previous to this no
national system existed to govern the data flow of communication to investors. SEC has been given
the statutory power to promulgate accounting principles. Even though it consists of its own policy, it
does rely on the private sector in the US to establish financial reporting standards. Its role of standard
setting on financial reporting and accountancy principle guidelines is backed with its powerful
influence. Another standard setting board is the FSAB with its role to expand accounting standards
outside the profession by encouraging. As a result the main source for accounting standards in the US
internally is GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) which is mounded by authority s
pronouncement by the FASB (Financial Accounting Standards Board). The role of the FSAB is to set
up financial accounting and reporting standards in the US. The FSAB structure is very significant
around the world today as the IASC s framework and UK statement of principles are clearly

Menachot 13b Analysis
Bava Metzia 20b, Eruvin 13b, and Menachot 29b are three gemarot we have studied. They are all very
different, but with those differences, there is an underlying connection between them. Bava Metzia,
also known as The Oven of Achnai , is about a rabbi trying to make his case as to why the halakha is
like him. Eruvin 13b, also known as These and These are the Words of the Living G d, discusses the
ways that Beit Hillel is successful and why halacha is in accordance with their opinion. Menachot 29b,
also known as Attaching Crowns to the Letters , tells the story of a conversation between G d and
Moshe about why things are the way they are. The three gemarot surreptitiously coincide, connecting
three separate stories into one enormous concept. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The idea that connects all three gemarot is how we decide on halacha and whose and which opinions
take precedence and how we decide that. In the first gemara, we learn that G d is irrelevant in making
halachic decisions. We also learn that when deciding upon halacha, we decide based on a majority
opinion. Whichever opinion the majority of people decide on is how halacha will be followed. The
lesson learned in the second gemara is that being humble is a key to being great. Respect is also an
essential part of being favored. Beit Hillel is favored in halachic disputes because of the respect they
showed to their challengers. The third gemara teaches a valuable lesson that we have to understand
that not all questions we have will have an answer. G d s answer to Moshe s question was that he
decided to do it that way. That is part of the halachic reasoning. We don t always have answers to our
questions. These three gemarot are definitely complementary to each other. These three gemarot
suggest that human thinking has had lots of control in halachic reasoning and decision making. G d
created basic laws for us to develop and expand on to live the most moral and ethical Jewish life

  • 2. Aboriginal Treatment Of Native People The treatment of native peoples all around the world has been a major issue for generations. This essay will show you how both the Indigenous Australians and Native Americans were treated from the first settlement of white peoples in their land up until now. It will assess how the system worked, the rights of the native peoples, why the system was the way it was, and how it impacted the world as a whole. The Australian constitution, made in 1901 states, in reckoning the numbers of people... The Aboriginal Natives shall not be included. It also says that it will legislate (make laws for) any race other than the Indigenous Australians. They were originally unable to vote, and were excluded from a range of benefits such as, pensions and maternity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Native Americans were forced and paid to leave their traditional lands and either chose to hide from or join the white people by living on reserves. Their native tongue, teachings and traditions were soon to be extinct and one man named Ishi and his family went around trying to pass on their culture to the new inhabitants of their land, The whites. Unfortunately, Ishi died not long after, a subject of disease. And thanks to his efforts and the efforts of people all around America, white people began to rally against the government alongside the natives. Native Americans were granted the same rights as any other American in 1924 and were soon merged in with the rest of society. In both cases, after a long, hard battle against the white settlers on their land, the Indigenous Australians and Native American have finally been granted the rights they deserve and have been accepted by society as a whole. Although, some people may stick to the old mindset, unable to move on and appreciate the natives of the land on which they stand. They are, after all, the traditional owners of the ... • 3. Annotated Bibliography On Linear Data Structure An introduction to linked list: a Review Abstract This paper describes about linear data structure i.e. linked list. Linked list is dynamic in nature means there is no need to know size of data in advance. It is linear collection of data elements which may or may not be stored at consecutive memory location. In linked list pointers are used for providing the linear order and each node is divided into parts for storing data and link part. This paper provides only overview that how linked list was created and what are its advantages over another data structure. It also defines how data is stored in linked list. What type of linked list can be? What basic operations can be performed on singly linked list? .And also tried to define applications of data structure. Introduction Linked list was developed by Cliff Shaw, Allen Newell and Herbert A. Simon at RAND Corporation in year of 1955 1956. It was firstly used in information processing language for artificial intelligence. There are many disadvantages of array as compare to linked list. First is array is a static data structure and size have to define before use for example: int marks [10] here size of array have fixed of 10 elements. Second array stores only similar type of elements in integer value according to upper example it will store only integer value and third one is in array insertion and deletion operation are very difficult for performing that operations huge amount of data have to move upward and downward ... • 4. The Brand Concept Of Brand Essay In accordance with assorted definitions of brands, two approaches of defining a brand are derived. The traditional one is a practical view which articulates a brand as a product identifier, including the source of the product (Aaker, 99 ). According to him, a brand is a distinguishing name and/or symbol which intended to identify the goods, services of either one seller or group of sellers and to differentiate those goods or services from those of competitors . Another approach, as holistic view, presents a brand as more than just the product (Styles Ambler, 995). In order to understand the effect that the Brand Identity has on consumers, the consistency of identity with the brand concept has to be emphasized through the company s strategic options. This will facilitate the recognition and brand recall by consumers in an environment where there are multiple competitive options (Sonnier and Ainslie, 20 ). The consistency of the brand concept must stand the test of time, leading to the creation of an identity. There should be a consistent increase during a prolonged period, the strategies for creating the concept of brand, to keep the connection between identity and brand image (Chernatony and McDonald, 2003; Kapferer, 997; Keller, 993, 998; Aaker and Joachimsthaler, 2000; Carrilat et. al., 20 ; Monga and John, 20 0; Batra et. al., 20 0; Janonis et. al., 2007; Fischer et. al., 20 0; Sonnier and Ainslie, 20 ). Such trust is built upon the credibility journalistic efforts. In the past, though mistakes have been made by even the most reputable of news providers, credibility was maintained and public trust in the journalist industry was steady. However, with the Internet taking its first infant steps into the reporting world, concern is being vocalized that public trust in journalism will be damaged by mavericks, such as Matt Drudge, who, without any foundation in reporting seek to tell the entire world every little secret he can dig up. (Miller) Baltimore Sun Washington correspondent Jules Witcover has referred to him as the abomination of the Internet. I don t consider him a journalist or a reporter, said Witcover. He s a gossipmonger who offers no sources. He s more like a magpie. These opinions of Drudge seem to be widely held within the traditional journalist community. Drudge, 34, is a self styled cyberspace patriot who thrives on news scoops via Drudge Report , has found fame at a fast and furious pace. Tragedies and comedies were performed in the city as part of an important religious festival, the Festival of Dionysia. A large proportion of the plays were about the City of Dionysia. During the sixth century BCE, the tyrant Pisistratus established the festival called the City of Dionysia. It took place in Elaphebolion, a month to the last half of March and the first half of April. During the classical period, this festival lasted several days and included several types of performances, which were also competitions for important honour and prizes as many aspects of Athenian society were highly competitive. This included: the bringing in, procession, revel, contests (tragedies, satyr play, comedy, dithyrambs) and the assembly. Each part of the festival proved important to Athenian society in many different ways including the way they honour Dionysus and other God s of drama. In the tragic competition, each of three tragic poets wrote, produced and acted in three tragedies on a single theme. Each poet also presented a satyr play. Judges awarded a prize to the best poet. The festival often began with a procession through the city. This was believed to be a blessing of the crops of Athens so farmers would have a fruitful harvest. As the procession progressed toward the temple of Dionysia, Athenian citizens rejoiced, dancing and playing instruments such as tambourines. The festival began with dithyrambs, or songs sung by a large chorus of usually fifty men. The remainder of the festival was dedicated to dramatic competitions in which five new plays were performed and judges gave prizes to the best authors and actors. Keeping with the theme of three, actors usually assembled on stage in threes, and only men were allowed to perform. If there were roles that were meant for women, male actors played as the ... That special family contains a soldier, a few senators, and even a president, the famous John Franklin Kennedy. However, some of us have probably heard about the bad luck this family seems to run into, from a botched lobotomy to that famous JFK assassination. The whole entire family seems cursed, those ghastly curses ranging from Rosemary Kennedy s misdiagnosis and rather unfortunate botched lobotomy, to John F. Kennedy s assassination. It s sad to see a well respected family go through such tragedies, it s almost as the world was plotting against these people. In this essay, I will be talking about the multitude of the ... Joe Kennedy, Rosemary s father banned her from the household, after which, he contacted two surgeons in Washington state: Dr. Freeman and Dr. Watts. Dr. Freeman supervised Dr. Watts surgery on Rosemary. Rosemary was given a mild tranquilizer; Dr. Watts recalling his surgery from those many years remembers making a rather small surgical incision through her skull, near the front, and on both sides. As. Dr. Watts performed the surgery, Dr. Freeman asked Rosemary questions such as reciting the Lord s Prayer, to sing God Bless America or count backwards. • 10. Analysis Of Penny Stock Case Study Penny Stock Case Study The two stories talk about the meteoric price surge in the stock of a company called Cynk Technology Corporation, with no actual revenue and tangible assets, and the purported manipulation of the stock price through a pump and dump strategy. It can be seen how the Securities and Exchange Commission together with the Department of Justice opened an indictment charging several people with conspiracy, tax fraud and money laundering involving up to $500 million in assets routed through offshore shell corporations that allowed clients to influence stock prices and hide their gains. Generally, the fraudsters take control of an enterprise and offer to sell a chunk of shares usually to the unsuspecting public with promises of very high returns. Promoters broadcast the company s prospects by telling financiers to get in early before the rest of the market dives in the pump. Shares are often bought and sold between fraudsters to give the appearance of active trading, further amplifying interest as brokers contact clients to buy the stock. Once the price starts rising, the control block can be dumped on the market, leaving investors with shares in a nearly worthless business (Bouraoui, Mehanaoui Bahli, 2012). It also parleys the increase of penny stock fraud and the Securities and Exchange Commission s inability to prosecute the fraudsters and protect investors. • 11. The Life Of Superman Saves Seven Children Thinking back to my admittedly privileged childhood, the most vivid memory I had wasn t of my first dance recital, or my first lacrosse game, or even my first fist fight that I won against my seventh grade bully. It wasn t even of the day when my father was brutally murdered in front of my sister and I when we were thirteen. No, the most evocative memory I had was the day I purchased the newspaper for my parents at age twelve and saw, sprawled across the cover, the headline that changed my life forever. SUPERMAN SAVES SEVEN CHILDREN; PRAISED AS HERO ONCE MORE. That day, I took my alarmingly large amount of allowance, went down to the novelty store across the road, and bought sixty seven dollars worth of Superman merchandise. I came home with six comic books, three old newspapers, an action figure, a skimpy tank top that made its way to college with me before being puked all over, and a notepad that would later fuel my journalistic obsession to become as great as Lois Lane, Superman s girl of choice. A month after acquiring that first newspaper for my parents, my father left the world with a bullet hole placed cleanly in the center of both eyes. Soon after my Superman obsession began to dwindle in my first year of college, the masked hero Batman faced off with his archenemy and made headlines in Gotham, where I attended school. So I traded in my Superman shorts for a Batman shirt and went searching for him on the streets at night, desperate. Late in my third year of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Socrates vs Protagoras Philosophy Socrates a sophist? Or just sophisticated? Plato goes a long way in attempting to distinguish Socrates from the likes of Protagoras, a self admitted sophist. In Protagoras, Socrates is depicted as a street smart, wisdom dispensing young man, brash with confidence and a bit of arrogance that goes a long way when confronted with the old school rhetoric of Protagoras. Plato begins to separate the two at the hip right from the get go. The other sophist of the times traveled through the towns teaching anyone at arms length, a method that was in much higher danger of criticism than the one adopted by Protagoras. A sophist would speak, a sophist would teach, a sophist would use language and words to manipulate a situation to fit his point. A sophist would engulf you in his words and make the impossible seem possible. A sophist would share his views on the world, life, and the future with you; he would make you see the light of day even if it was night. A sophist was a wise man who had the gift of gab, the ability to influence, the ability to sway, the ability to teach the young how to be better speakers. All of the qualities that Socrates claimed he did not possess. Socrates was depicted as a clever man, yet one who never taught, never persuaded, never tried to make his thoughts shared by others. He was not a sophist, not a teacher, not a wise man . A wise man knows that he knows nothing . Socrates always spoke of the fact that he was not a sophist because he was only out for the truth. • 14. Importance Of Psalm 116 Psalm 116 is a great read for us as Christians and for us as moms. Psalms 116 speaks of the benefits and blessings of God s Word. But, in order to get the benefits and blessings of the Word we must first study, meditate, and walk out the passages. My greatest motivation for keeping God s Word close to my heart and my study game strong is my children. At some point our children will leave us, they will leave our homes and start their own, they will leave a piece of our family as they marry and begin their own. How refreshing is it to know that the wisdom and discretion they learn from God s Word is able to protect and guard them even when we can t be with them. • 15. Annotated Bibliography On Database Encryption 1. INTRODUCTION Database Encryption is one of the technique used for securing the data in database. This method transforms information on a computer in such a way that it becomes unreadable. So, even if someone is able to gain access to a computer with personal data on it, they likely won t be able to do anything with the data unless they have original data key, complicated or expensive software. The main function of encryption is essentially to translate normal text into cipher text. Encryption makes sure that data doesn t get read by the wrong people, but can also ensure that data isn t altered in transit, and verify the identity of the sender. Data Encryption method typically uses a specified parameter or key to perform the data transformation. Some encryption algorithms require the key to be the same length as the message to be encoded, yet other encryption algorithms can operate on much smaller keys relative to the message. Encryption is most used among transactions over insecure channels of communication, such as the internet. Encryption is also used to protect data being transferred between devices such as mobile telephones, automatic teller machines (ATMs), and many more. Encryption can be used to create digital signatures, which allow a message to be authenticated. When properly implemented, a digital signature gives the recipient of a message reason to believe the message was sent by the claimed sender. 2. THREATS TO DATABASE 2.1 Database Databases are the ... • 16. Chronic Effects Of Chronic Water Intake Introduction Water is crucial for life. Most biological processes require water to be present for it to occur. Without water there is no medium for these processes to occur, therefore we must fully understand the consequences of dehydration. Dehydration is a condition that is caused by excessive loss of body water. It has been known that dehydration is associated with acute renal dysfunction, and it has been considered reversible with no long term effects on the kidney. However, there has been an increasing number of epidemiological studies suggesting that irregular water intake, leading to recurrent events of dehydration, is a risk factor for developing and progressing the conditions of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Due to the high prevalence in both the initial and final stages of CKD, it has become a global health burden. Although there have been many studies linking recurrent dehydration with the development and progression of CKD, only a handful of studies looked into the long term impacts of chronic water restriction on the progression of CKD and the core mechanisms associated with it. Apart from water regulation, the kidney also affects the cardiovascular system, with many studies associating CKD with cardiovascular diseases (CVS). Therefore, it is important to understand the causes of CKD to prevent the risk of developing CVS in CKD. In this review we will look at how recurrent dehydration causes CKD. Firstly, the role of how the kidney regulates water balance is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

General Washington s use of IPB played out on multiple fronts during the pre battle phase. In one aspect, General Washington directed forces under the command of Major General Charles Lee to harass the British rear guard. This started June 18, 1778, as the British forces exited Philadelphia with 12,000 personnel and 12 mile baggage train (Stryker, 1927). The baggage train consisted of personnel goods, minimal resupplies, and basic food items. Unbeknownst to General Clinton, General Washington had sent an advance unit to direct the New Jersey Militia. Generals William Maxwell and Philemon Dickerson, ordered the NJ Militia to destroy nearly every bridge along known routes (Mitnick, 2005). This caused General Clinton to either repair the bridges or wade across shallow rivers crosses leading to the further exhaustion his men and beasts of burden. Jesus was arrested in the early am hours so that any protest of the Pharisees behaviors would not be made. The elders of the Synagogue want to be in full control of what happens to Jesus. In this analysis I will explain my viewpoint of Why it was so vital for bad things to happen to this man and What good can come from violence being displayed in this manner? Jesus is brought in to stand trial before Pilate a Roman governor. Pilate clearly does not want to condemn this man; this was partly because he sees no real crime committed and partly because of a vision his wife had in a dream. Pilate first asks the Jewish High Priests Do you always punish your prisoners before they re judged? Pilate questions Caiaphas and Jesus and finds no merit worthy of death and tries to pass the decision of Jesus fate off to King Herod. However, King Herod gets nowhere with his line of questioning towards Jesus so he sends the decision back to Pilate. Pilate undeniably does not wish to crucify this man and attempts to free him by allowing a choice for a prisoner to be freed. Yet, to his surprise the people decide to free Barabbas, a murder, over freeing Jesus, a non violent man. This decision was thanks to the persuasion of Caiaphas and the other men of the cloth. High traffic capacity is achieved with smaller cells and microcell systems which cover downtown hotspot areas. Microcells are characterized by lower antenna heights and lower power levels when compared with ordinary macrocells and hence offer high outdoor traffic capacity but low indoor coverage. Thus an indoor system should supply better coverage and high capacity simultaneously. These needs are fulfilled by using a large number of small radio ports into the cellular system. Several solutions are available to increase the system capacity: frequency reuse by reducing the cell size, dynamic resource allocation, slow frequency hopping, hierarchical cells etc. The transmission link performance is a key property of a wireless communication system as it determines the coverage of the system. An improvement of the transmission link performance provides a cost effective way of increasing capacity by allowing reuse of tighter channel. A method of improving the transmission link performance of a wireless communication system is discussed here. These needs are satisfied by arranging a huge number of small radio ports to the existing cellular system. Spot coverage is provided for those areas which are hard or impossible to cover with the outdoor cells. The radio ports transmit with very low power for a small coverage area and keeping the generated interference low. The narrator is convinced that there is not enough time for this woman to be shy, regarding her feelings to him, in addition to, his opinion of believing that he is the best man for her, but if this woman does not feel the same way, then let the narrator live his life and to not make him wait for a decision from her. The message of this poem that is conveyed by the author, life is too short to wait on someone else s decision of whether a person feels the same way, or if they are being timid about how they feel about someone. In Anarchy, State, and Utopia (Nozick 1974), Nozick created the thought experiment The Experience Machine with which he attempts to challenge the idea of ethical hedonism (42). The Experience Machine is a thought experiment, in which a person is given the choice of entering a machine that would stimulate pleasure into a person s brain using a machine, and that the person could not distinguish the differences between the machine and reality, in some variations of the experiment, once a person enters the machine, that person cannot leave. • 32. Voltaire s View Of Candide Voltaire s Candide is a satirical work written in 1759 as a commentary during the Enlightenment. One of Voltaire s most famous works, it also functioned to reflect Voltaire s opinions. Candide is considered Voltaire s signature work in which he levels his sharpest criticism against nobility, philosophy, the church, and human cruelty. Though often considered a representative text of the Enlightenment era, the novel criticizes a number of Enlightenment philosophies. As reading and books were a sign of wealth in that time, the trend among nobility was reading. The criticisms and ridicule within the satirical nature of Candide had much to do with the nobility and their standards and ideas, especially in contrast with those of the lower classes. Through the form and technique of satire in Candide, Voltaire suggests the absurdity of societal principles and theories. Throughout the novel, Candide s teacher and philosopher, Pangloss, persists in his paternalistic optimism theory. He continually expresses his belief that this world is the best of all possible worlds and that everything happens and exists for a reason. One example is after the earthquake in Lisbon, killing 30,000 people, Pangloss comments, For, said he, all that is for the best. If there is a volcano at Lisbon it cannot be elsewhere. Coming Of Age Throughout Mississippi Deandra Green Professor Joshua Jeffers United States History II 3 November 2015 Coming of Age in Mississippi The book Coming of Age in Mississippi goes into detail about a very prominent time in United States history. The book takes us back to a time where the issue of civil rights began to rise eventually reaching its peak marking this an unforgettable time in history for that generation and for generations to come. During this time the south in general was already a tough place to be in, but the in the Deep South things were even worse, which is where the story takes place. Not only was race a huge issue other things factored into these trying times such as huge levels of poverty, and various acts of violence. Although all of these factors played a crucial part to the make up of the Civil Rights Movement, the one that stands out the most is prejudice with the other factors such as unfair gender roles and poverty falling suit behind. Real Time Big Data Processing With Machine Learning Real Time Big Data Processing with Machine Learning On Real Estate Business ABSTRACT Real Time Big Data Processing with Machine Learning On Real Estate Business By Jasleen Kaur Raghav Munjal Shubham Rajvanshi Della Sivakumar Data is a powerful weapon as well as a resource. Having data does not make you powerful but what you do with it makes all the difference. Companies like Amazon, eBay and Netflix are already using data to predict user behavior and utilizing that to increase their revenue. But processing data in real time is not an easy task. The data today has great volume, is veracious in nature and is increasing at an enormous rate and hence has been given the term Big Data. There is a constant research going on to find a solution to process such huge amount of data in real time. The Hadoop based batch processing is a powerful tool for analyzing data offline. But it fails to process anything in real time. Highly sensitive situations like crediting card fraud detection, networking fault prediction; threat detection and so on cannot be postponed for an offline analysis. Situations like these need instant results because if something is not done to mitigate a potential threat in real time, the damage may be catastrophic. The goal of this project is to come up with a scalable and efficient solution which can process heterogeneous data in the most simplified design possible in real time. Existing solutions are either not scalable or approach one kind of data and in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Federal Elections Campaign Act of 1974 Following the Watergate scandal, the Federal Elections Campaign Act of 1974 was amended to create the regulatory agency, known as the Federal Elections Commission, in 1975. The duties of the FEC consist largely of enforcing regulation, limitation, and prohibition on financial contributions to federal campaigns, candidates, political parties, and political action committees. The Act has thoroughly set limits on the amount of money a person or committee may donate to the previously mentioned situations. For example, an individual can donate no more than $2,600 to any federal campaign per election, and a combined limit of $10,000 to local and state parties every calendar year. The case at hand involves Shaun McCutcheon challenging the aggregate limits as a violation of the First Amendment right of expression. An Alabaman Conservative businessman, McCutcheon expressed that he wished to donate more than the contributions he was able to make in the last election cycle. He wanted to contribute an amount that would stay within base limits but surpass aggregate limits set by the FEC. In distric court, the plaintiffs claimed aggregate limits as unconstitutional and impeding on a First Amendment right. The district court system ruled against the plaintiff, asserting that the government could regulate aggregate limits because it would be preventing corruption or the appearance of corruption. Religion can be explained as a set of beliefs that has structure and is practiced within a group or community. It involves worshipping of superhuman beings, and often contains certain teachings in which its believers/followers abide by and practice in everyday society. Although not all religions incorporate a God , the Catholic Church is centred around the Triune God (God, Jesus, Holy Spirit). Catholic teachings reflect the actions that God/Jesus displayed for the sake of humanity. This story explains how Jesus sent the disciples by ship back to the other side of the Sea of Galilee after they became caught in a wind storm. When the first saw Jesus on the water they were frightened. They believed he was a ghost. Jesus said to them not to be afraid. In the Gospel of Matthew, Peter walked on the water towards Jesus, but doubted himself and began to sink. Jesus reached out and caught him. After Jesus entered the ship, the storm settled, and they arrived at land. Christian teachings consider the story a miracle and displays the importance of faith. Peter didn t believe he could achieve what he set out to do, and ultimately due to this he didn t succeed. This sacred story is another example of how religion provides certain ways to live to benefit yourself and others. This interacts with spirituality as these teachings allow people to develop personally and have a better state of mind. The main symbol evident is the light that appears out of the darkness when Jesus appears on the surface of the water. This symbol represents hope as Jesus has come to rescue them from the storm. • 43. The Invention Of The World Wide Web The present society of today embodies a distinct shape, organization, role, and feel from the societies of a millennium ago, a century ago, or even a decade ago. These metamorphoses are, in part, caused by the multiple technological revolutions that our society has experienced throughout its history. Each time a technological revolution occurs when a novel technology is introduced to build upon or succeed an older one the entire society (and the individuals that comprise it) changes. However, as Marshall McLuhan suggested within the printed pages of Understanding Media: The Extensions of Man, the medium is the message (McLuhan 1964). In other words, these shifts are not as much the direct result of the invention s content or it s use, as they are the outcomes of effects that are intrinsic within the technology itself. Although McLuhan published this work in 1964, almost thirty years before the invention of the World Wide Web, this adage still holds true for the Internet today. Technologies, such as the Internet, should not be viewed, using the instrumentalist perspective, as inherently neutral tools that are valuable only for their ends, intended purposes, or practical benefits (Ellul, Wilkinson, and Merton 1964, Carr 2010, 45). Rather, the means themselves, or what McLuhan would consider the medium, should also be recognized as carrying messages that hold powerful, unintended consequences for society (Ellul, Wilkinson, and Merton 1964, McLuhan 1964). With every different setting, there are new norms, values, beliefs, and ways of doing things. Sociology then studies those different aspects of a place and sees how they shape the social world that we live in. Within sociology, there is three main perspectives that a sociologist can see the world. Through Social Interactionism, Functionalism, and Marxism and Social Conflict, the workplace, church, and federal agencies can be seen in a different way. At the workplace, conflict is very natural. Take for instance the problem that the Record Democrat has almost every week, a slow news week. Granted, this newspaper in only printed once a week, but in a small town sometimes nothing really happens. With this problem, several other conflicts arise. One of the bigger conflicts created is the amount of blank space left once the paper is laid out. This is then dealt with by what the workers call, fillers. Fillers are ads that promote the R D, and make people want to buy a subscription. Another large thought of Marx, is the using of power by groups and individuals to promote their interest. Marxist could look at these fillers as a way that power is exerted onto the public. People have to buy subscriptions in order for the R D to stay in business and keep producing the newspaper. The power comes from being the only newspaper company around. If the R D goes out of business, there will be no more local news. A place where conflict never seems to happen, but occurs all the time, is at the local church. How could a place of such harmony and grace have large amounts of conflict? One example that has recently arose was when St. Peter got a new pastor. She was a very nice middle aged women who had a different way of teaching from the bible. Pastor J (this was what she went by) taught in a way that connected things to the modern world and spoke of the biblical teachings in a modern tongue. One of the big concepts that she always talked about was justice for the world and righteousness. The extremely traditional high council members of the church did not like this new way that Pastor J spoke of the world. It went against the self centeredness that the church thrived off of. Bava Metzia, also known as The Oven of Achnai , is about a rabbi trying to make his case as to why the halakha is like him. Eruvin 13b, also known as These and These are the Words of the Living G d, discusses the ways that Beit Hillel is successful and why halacha is in accordance with their opinion. In the first gemara, we learn that G d is irrelevant in making halachic decisions. We also learn that when deciding upon halacha, we decide based on a majority opinion. Whichever opinion the majority of people decide on is how halacha will be followed. The lesson learned in the second gemara is that being humble is a key to being great. Respect is also an essential part of being favored. Beit Hillel is favored in halachic disputes because of the respect they showed to their challengers. The third gemara teaches a valuable lesson that we have to understand that not all questions we have will have an answer. G d s answer to Moshe s question was that he decided to do it that way.
