Why Are High School Sports Good For Kids
Sports are a fun thing for kids, they play them all the time, but sports aren t always what they re
cracked up to be. Parents can get to involved and pressure there kids, kids that want to play
professional sports can be let down when they don t get drafted. People say that sports start
friendships but what s that worth if you can t remember them. Sports aren t good for kids.
First parent pressure, according to Are High School Sport Good For Kids? Parents put too much
pressure on kids. they get really involved in their kids sports, they put a lot of emphasis on winning.
they should be focusing on their safety. High school football comes with a risk. Says that they can
keep their kids safe by Making sure they wear all the appropriate protective equipment, and that their
equipment fits properly and is in good repair. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It isn t an easy thing to get into the kids would have to put a lot lot of time and effort into training and
practising. The reality is not many kids actually get drafted. According to Do Athletes face
unnecessary parent pressure. Only 11% of hockey players, 6% of basketball players, 5.5% of football
players, and 3% of baseball players get drafted. So most of the players will be let down.
Now people might say that sports aren t bad they can start friendships, that is true in fact according to
Kids and sports. Studies have shown that playing sports can actually give kids confidence, also the
loneliest kids are kids that don t play sports. Friendship are great but what that worth if you suffer a
concussion and can t remember them. According to Pressure On Teen Athletes. concussions in kids
sports have tripled in the last decade. in fact kids ages 14 19 suffer 7,000 to 22,000 concussions a year.
The concussions can cause long term brain damage and

Television s Influence On Television
Throughout history television has seen many changes such as improved acting, special effects,
graphics, camera work, ideas, and many other changes. Cop/Investigation shows are the focus of his
paper. Investigation shows in particular have become more in depth and realistic. During the 60 s
television exploded. There was 245 million TV sets in American homes. At the time, that was more
TV sets than people in the United States. With all the turmoil with the JFK assassination, early stages
of the Vietnam War, the lifestyle of Sex, Drugs, and Rock n Roll and others, television was used to
reach out to people. During the 70 s television began to become even more popular because people
started liking it more and people were able to afford it. That changed the way television was
represented and what was on television. Cop shows from these two era s started getting more realistic.
Crime, cop, or investigation shows in the 70 s are more realistic than those shows of the 60 s. In the 60
s shows like I Spy , and Adam 12 started to turn up. Starting in 1965 I Spy is about a pair of
intelligence agents that go on secret missions around the world as a response to James Bond Movies.
A pair of American agents faces espionage adventures with skill, humor and some serious questions
about their work. Robinson s cover is as a former Princeton law student and Davis Cup tennis player;
Rhodes scholar Scott is his trainer as well as being a language expert. (imdb.com) In this show,

Security Analysis Of A Protocol For Pollution Attack...
ABSTRACT
The following technical paper Security Analysis of a Protocol for Pollution Attack Detection is based
on the concept of network coding. Since we have a limited bandwidth it becomes imperative for us to
optimize our network in such a way that we can make maximum use of the network resources.
Network coding allows us to do that. It achieves this by combining different packets that it receives at
a node into one single packet for transmission, instead of simply taking and forwarding the packets.
However, network coding is vulnerable to pollution attacks where a single malicious node can disrupt
the operation of the complete network. Several protocols to detect pollution attacks have been
proposed previously. In the following paper the author has described a new pollution attack detection
protocol that extends the existing SpaceMac protocol. This paper describes how we have modelled the
protocol in order to carry out a security analysis and presents the results of that analysis.
INTRODUCTION
Network coding allows multiple packets to be transmitted using a smaller number of packets thereby
increasing throughput. Here a common single base station transmits data from a common single base
station to intermediate stations where it is kept and sent out to the final destination or to any other
intermediate stations at a later time. For a traditional network that employs multicast network, the
stations receive a packet and forward it to the next node. Under network coding,

History Of Dental Pulp Stem Cells
Introduction
Regeneration of tissues to replace diseased, missing and traumatized dentin/pulp emerges from recent
progress in stem cell and tissue engineering research. Dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) are considered a
promising population of cells in regenerative dentistry and have been shown to produce dentin/pulp
like tissues following implantation in vivo (Gronthos et al., 2000; Gronthos et al., 2002; Shi et al.,
2001). Importantly, DPSCs reside in the microvasculature region of the dental pulp and interact with
perivascular cells (Shi and Gronthos, 2003). Therefore, endothelial cells could be a major source of
modulators of pulp dentin development and angiogenesis. We recently showed that co culture of
human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) with DPSCs enhances osteo/odontogenic
differentiation and angiogenesis in monolayer cultures (Dissanayaka et al., 2012). However, the
interactions of these two cells in angiogenesis and pulp like tissue regeneration in vivo remain
unknown.
Shaping functional dentin/pulp complex from monodispersed expanded cell cultures is an ongoing
challenge. Tissue engineers have thus mostly relied on biomaterials/scaffolds in which cells can grow
and differentiate. Several reports have shown that dental stem cells being seeded onto a matrix
scaffold and transplanted in vivo form a new tissue similar to that of the native pulp (Cordeiro et al.,
2008; Rosa et al., 2013). However, none of the scaffolds described so far has all the structure

Competitive Advantage Through Value Chain And Vertical...
We are living in a world, where technology keeps changing on day to day basis. In this ever changing
world of technology, the question is how are some companies doing better than the others and what
are they doing to maintain competitive advantage? Rise of technology has given birth to competition
by giving companies new ways to perform at higher levels and this has also led to the ways companies
are producing their products and services. Technology has affected several sections of an organization
by having an impact on business communications, company s HR practices, and organizational
changes. Therefore, in order to gain and maintain competitive advantage, a company must do one of
the two; either produce goods/services at a lower cost or produce innovative products in a way that
leads to differentiation and a premium price.
Section 1: Competitive Advantage through Value Chain and Vertical Integration
Companies are using value chain approach to better understand which key areas will give them the
greatest edge over its competitors. They are focusing on each division, distribution centers, pricing,
product innovation, selling techniques, and value chain formations.
Value chain is an important notion that highlights the role of information technology in the operations
of a company. A Value Chain is the whole series of activities that create and build value at every step.
The total value delivered by the company is the sum total of the value built up all throughout the

Disobedience as a Psychological and Moral Problem
DISOBEDIENCE AS A PSYCHOLOGICAL AND MORAL PROBLEM 2
Disobedience as a Psychological and Moral Problem Erich Fromm
Erich Fromm s essay Disobedience as a Psychological and Moral Problem suggests that humankind s
evolution has, and continues to rely on man s capability to exercise disobedience. While discussing the
positions of disobedience being considered a vice, and obedience being a virtue, Fromm reflects upon
the history of Adam and Eve believing that eating the forbidden fruit was man s first act of
disobedience. This is the point that broke the bond between man and nature requiring man to be
dependant upon his own powers, while rewarding him with his complete humanity, freedom, ... Show

He adds to this by introducing the concepts of rational and irrational authority, explaining that rational
authority would be equivalent to that of a teacher and student whereby there is mutual benefit, while
irrational authority would be identified by the likes of a slave and his owner who demonstrates
complete disregard of the slave s happiness or well being, his only interest being how the slave will
benefit him. Through a veil of lies man obeys the State, the Church, the mass opinions of their peers,
or any other organization that they view to be in power. This affords him a false sense of safety and
protection. In his obedience, man feels strong allowing him to be controlled by the fear of being
isolated or having undesirable repercussions greet him as a result of any disobedience. Throughout
history it has been evident that, for the most part, the few in power have ruled over the majority. The
foundation of this relationship has been the few equating obedience with virtue and disobedience with
sin, resulting in man not only needing to obey, but wanting to obey. Man s inability to see that he has
lost his ability to disobey and stand up for what he believes and values, instead of what he has been
brainwashed to believe and value, will inevitably ensure the destruction of all civilization at the hand
of man. Man s only saving grace will be his ability to realize

The Problem Of The Water Crisis
To address something as complex as the water crisis, one must first examine the current condition of
the problem. Currently, the water crisis is being driven by three things. First, many governments in
Africa are not interested in investing in nationwide plumbing. That is either because they are not able
to afford the cost of laying the info structure or they can afford it but feel no need to invest that much.
Even if a country can afford to install plumbing, generally, plumbing is only installed in urban areas
and has little to no effect on those living in rural Africa. Second, many large companies buy out water
rights and use them to dump toxic chemicals with no oversight. The result is that there is less water
considered drinkable. Furthermore, this can ruin long time water sources for people that may be
nowhere near the business. Third, some companies who buy out water rights sell the water back to the
people. Often times, they charge outrageous prices that the majority of citizens cannot afford. As a
result, previously free water is now double the average income per day. In an effort to address the
problem, a lot of nonprofits have formed for the express purpose of helping increase water
accessibility. To do this, almost all of these companies dig wells. Unskilled groups use dug wells or
driven wells which are subject to contamination and ineffective during a drought. More skilled groups
use drilled wells which are less subject to contamination and work in all

Supply Irrigation Water Irrigation Systems
Increasing threats of freshwater shortage, reduction in arable land, and more frequent and severe
droughts due to climate change has stimulated research into water saving irrigation strategies aiming
at producing more crop per drop (Morison et al., 2008). The trend in recent years has been towards
conversion of surface irrigation to drip irrigation to improve water use efficiency, plant quality and,
crop yield. Drip irrigation systems have increasingly been used to supply irrigation water, fertilizers,
and pesticides to a wide range of vegetables, field crops, and fruit trees due to their ability to enable
highly localized application of water and nutrients to crops (Kandelous et al., 2011; Selim et al.,
2013). Drip systems can achieve ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Saito and Kitahara (2012) used ground penetration radar to predict the changes in water content under
subsurface drip irrigation. Studies also used disturbed soil samples by gravimetric method (Al Mefleh
and Abu Zreig, 2013; KUMAR et al., 2015) and point based soil water sensors such as TDR (da Silva
et al., 2009; dos Santos et al., 2016) and capacitance probes (Fernández Gálvez and Simmonds, 2006)
to estimate SWC variations under drip irrigation. Most of these studies have investigated two
dimensional (2D) wetting patterns changes while three dimensional (3D) wetting patterns could
provide more insights into the changes of wetted radius and depth under drip irrigation. This is due to
the fact that spatial variations in soil properties induce spatial variations in water distribution patterns
between drippers (Or, 1996) and consequently sensor placements to detect wetted soil volumes around
drippers become challenging. Because it requires large number of measurement points distributed
vertically and horizontally around an emitter to monitor variations in wetting patterns which is
laborious and time consuming and practically infeasible sometimes if point based sensors used.
Therefore, it is necessary to explore alternative soil water sensing techniques which could provide
spatially dense measurements at small to field scales.
Distributed temperature sensing (DTS) systems are optoelectronic devices which

Themes In The Old Man And The Sea
The Old Man and the Sea, by Ernest Hemingway, shares many similarities with the movie Cast Away.
Christopher Noland and Santiago are both stranded in middle of the ocean, searching for something to
get them home. But those are not nearly the only things the same about the two works of art. Both
beautiful narratives share the themes of pride, solitude, and endurance. Cast Away and Hemingway s
novel tell a very similar story, differing only by character and setting. Both tales involve the idea of
pride. For Cast Away, Noland takes pride in always delivering his packages on time. In Hemingway s
story, Santiago is prideful of his fishing job. As Noland said in one of the early scenes of the movie,
First thing it s two minutes, then four, then six, then the next thing you know, we re the U.S. mail.
(Cast Away) The U.S. mail is well known for their habit of being late when delivering their packages.
He takes pride in the fact that his branch of FedEx is on time, and tears into his workers for being even
a few minutes late, because if they are late, they will continually get later and later, until they are as
unreliable as the previously mentioned U.S. mail. His pride would never let anything as horrible as
that happen, for if it did, he would feel personally responsible for the failure of his co workers. In The
Old Man and the Sea, Santiago states that he once went 87 days without fish, then he caught big ones
everyday for three weeks. (Hemingway, p.10) This certainly shows

Overview of the Clip about Jim Performing a Prank on...
1. Introduction
Workplace related injuries tend to have far reaching repercussions. The concept of safety is rarely
considered as a strong contributor in elimination of workplace related injuries. The culture of space is
one that involves creation of space that enables individuals to feel and be comfortable, welcome, and
safe. This means that there is no discrimination on grounds of biological sex or sexual orientation,
cultural background, age, physical or mental ability, race, or gender. This work explores the clip where
Jim performs a prank on Dwight in the film The Office. This scene shows unsafe working
environment. This report provides a brief overview of the clip, synthesis of the clip in relation to safe

This means ensuring that the space created does not have impressions of discrimination on grounds of
sex or sexual orientation, cultural background, age, physical or mental disability, race or gender.
Farley et al. notes that safe space must be free from any form of harassment. This should be indicated
in the company s code of professional conduct in a corporate scenario (1626). Rockstrom and others
emphasize on provision of safe space such that the vulnerable in the society have a sense of belonging.
For instance, the disabled should be able to maneuver throughout any office space to access a region
of interest. This should be integrated in the initial or subsequent office designs to ensure the
vulnerable are accommodated.
Hutter captures workplaces where workers are restricted to working in small spaces (30). In such a
scenario, safety standards should be designed to ensure that workers are not trapped in small spaces or
fall prey of serious safety hazards especially chemical related injuries (Hutter 30). This calls for
integration of proper equipment and tools to ensure that workers are protected (Rockstrom and
Karlberg 259). Rescue procedures should remain sound to ensure fast rescue operations with proper
follow up procedures to improve safety standards whenever flaws are identified. Whenever possible,
regular safety trainings and drills should be conducted to ensure that individuals

Using Auras ( Multimedia Overlays Created By The Aurasma
Introduction A kindergarten teacher desired to create an augmented reality experience to enhance her
students ability to learn sight words from her word wall. Augmented reality was defined as an
environment that includes both virtual reality and real world elements by Azuma (1997). This paper
evaluated the value of using auras (multimedia overlays created by the Aurasma (2011) software to
create the augmented reality over the real classroom environment, specifically the word wall.

The teacher had to help all the other centers and tend to individual student needs simultaneously. This
meant the students had to be intermittently self directed and focused to accomplish the tasks at each
center. Audience The target audience was the kindergarten students, ages five to six years old. They
come from a range of socio economic backgrounds. The school overall had about 40% of their
students participating in the free/reduced lunch program. There were seven students who self
identified as being of color (Hispanic, African American and others). There were six students with
various learning challenges and IEPs (Individualized Education Programs). There were four students
who started the year with minimal to non existent English speaking skills. Content Area In alignment
with state requirements, students are expected to be able to write certain words before the end of the
school year. In support of this, the teacher had a writing center. Frequently the assignment would have
students copying some text from a template, but they were also expected to decode words they did not
know. Additionally they were to use the word wall to find and copy sight words. The teacher has songs
and visual reminders for how to spell the challenging words, but these cannot be put on the word wall.
She desired an augmented reality experience for the students, which would allow them to use the
classroom iPads to highlight a word, and see the associated aural or visual

Reflection Of Storycorp Interview
Introduction
This paper will discuss the recent events that have happened in this past week. The results of the
personality and values test. How the StoryCorp interview got me closer to my mother. What I learned
about the photographic work field in my informational interview. The online programs I plan to use
for my 21 day APP project. How I hope this class will help my growth as a person.
Summary of Key Findings from Interest, Skills, Values and Personality Surveys I generally try to be
kind to others and I greatly enjoy making people laugh. I would like to incorporate humor into my
Capstone Project and show the beauty of nature. I want my pictures to make people happy whether it
is by laughing or admiring nature. I believe this project will go well with my personality.
StoryCorps Interview Reflection Karen, my mother, and I talked about family and religion. My
mother is a family based woman, she has become more religious in her age. I asked her what her
favorite memories of me were and she brought up events so far in the past I had forgotten them. It was
nice to reminisce about events long past and talk about Heaven. We do not normally talk about
Heaven so it was nice to hear her thoughts about it.
Informational Interview Results The Capstone Project I have chosen does not need a higher education
to pursue after. Mr. Dunahee explained that the degree he went in for was not for photography. He had
ended up in this work field after a friend paid him to do his wedding shots. Mr. Dunahee told me this
after we had finished our interview, I was unsure whether to add it in or not.
Photography is a constantly adapting in order to keep up with all the new technology made available.
Why pay for a photographer when your phone can handle the job? While I greatly admire the field I
do not think it would be a suitable career choice for me. After the interview, Mr. Dunahee encouraged
me to join his class to learn more about photography face to face. While the offer is tempting, I fear I
do not have time to join his class due to my demanding work schedule.
21 Day APP Project Since my work schedule is very hectic I have chosen to take online class to learn
more about photography. I did have a hard time narrowing

Compare And Contrast Two Teacher And Montessorel
For this assessment I am required to undertake an essay on two educational theorists that if have
studied in this case the two educational theorists are Maria Montessori and Frederick Froebel. This
will involve an in depth evaluation and comparison of the two theorists under the following headings
their philosophies, their contribution to early childhood education in terms of their approach and
implementation and my personal thoughts on their approaches to helping the development of young
children but also in educating young children.
Philosophies
Maria Montessori approach had respect for children as individuals. She monitored the children s
reaction through their primary senses such as self confidence and independence and their natural
curiosity to learn. She observed in young children the situation she called absorbent mind. Children
learn from their everyday surroundings. The most important period of life is not the age of university
studies but the period of birth to age six . She studied that between conception to age four 50% of
mature intelligence is developed and from ages four to eight 30% is developed. in Montessori schools

She did not believe in testing children as it would damage and portray negative thoughts in their
minds. Children are in control of their own environments, which has dramatically prepared for them to
be stimulating, comfortable and to encourage independence by giving them the tools and

equipment and furnishings were only suitable for adults she designed her own ones suitable for
children. Today they are used in all Montessori schools [O Shea,

Disadvantages Of Unclaimed Life Insurance
Imagine paying a huge number of dollars over many years for a life insurance policy to safeguard your
family, simply to have it go unclaimed when you died, leaving your beneficiaries with nothing.
Investigations into policies that were lost have led insurance companies to pay out hundreds of
millions of dollars to beneficiaries lately. Here s what you should know about unclaimed life
insurance, while regulators, insurance executives and courts wrangle over the best approach to address
the dilemma.
How advantages go unclaimed
It occurs. People move, age and lose track of life insurance policies they bought decades earlier.
Occasionally, policyholders deem it best not to do so, or neglect to mention life insurance policies to
heirs.

The shield of insurance industry
Jack Dolan, vice president of media relations for the American Council of Life Insurers, says that the
value of unclaimed policies is a tiny number compared with the more than $60 billion a year that
companies pay out in life insurance claims.
We understand it s essential to people, that it can represent a heritage and also the wishes of a person
to pass on something to their families, he says. That is the reason why we take the matter very, very
seriously and we are working with regulators to get to the base of [it].
One of many disclosures of the investigations was that insurance companies did often check Social
Security death records for people to whom they were making annuity payments, but not for deaths of
life insurance policyholders in other words, firms check for deaths in a predicament that stands to save

The Gateway To Freedom Analysis
The Gateway to Freedom is an enticing novel that gives further knowledge of racial discrimination
and the social inequality of blacks at the time of slavery and how the Underground Railroad combatted
this through the different committees and activists of the time. This essay will focus on how the
Underground Railroad affected family, economy and religion the social institutions, those who
operated the Underground Railroad were diverse and have different reason for following the
abolitionist movement, and not all the committees are made equally. According to Foner, the author of
The Gateway to Freedom, there was a direct correlation between free blacks and fugitive slaves
presence in the antislavery movement. Many people from many backgrounds helped fugitive slaves
and the abolitionist development. There are many different actions abolitionists took to further their
cause; some of the abolitionists were politicians, for example, William H. Seward and Thaddeus

many different means. Whether it dealt with the Underground Railroad directly or indirectly many
abolitionists took part in helping. Some devoted their livelihood and found a job within the

Religion In Candide, By Voltaire
Does religion affect the lives of people today? In the book Candide written by Voltaire in 1750s,
almost every person s life is influenced and directly impacted by religion. Throughout Europe in the
16th century, most kingdoms and countries were dominated by Catholicism. It was the main religion,
and many rulers forced it upon the people. Despite how many people found it wrong and unethical to
force it upon others, they continued to do so, punishing anyone in their way. The Age of
Enlightenment is a period where new ideas closely associated with science were spreading. Voltaire
was enlightened; he had a disbelief of religion. This led to him, along with many others realizing how

Thou dost not deserve to eat, said the other. Be Gone, rogue; begone, wretch; do not come near me
again. (27). In these lines Voltaire shows how unaccepting they are, unwilling to help a starving man.
Voltaire also shows how bigoted his wife is also, as Voltaire wrote, putting her head out of the
window, and spying a man that doubted whether the Pope was Antichrist, poured over him a full....
Oh, heavens! to what excess does religious zeal carry the ladies (27). This shows how little the
minister, who is symbolizing Christians care about people who do not have the same belief as them.
The unwillingness to help a starving man solely due to his beliefs seems crazy now, but no as much in
the 16th Century if you were Christian. Voltaire does an excellent job a satirizing Christianity, by
showing how intolerant and how averse they are to helping . Voltaire shows this in Candide because of
his numerous distasteful experiences he had dealt with, due to Christians. One example of a rough
experience Candide had was exiled from many countries because of his writings, which made
Christianity look bad. Candide does an excellent job at doing this, he was capable of shamming them

Hampton Roads Tide Essay
The Hampton Roads region has had a stable economy for the past couple of decades. With a large

Existing laws in the states that permit physician assisted suicide require that patients have a terminal
illness (including Alzheimer s, Parkinson s, heart disease, cancer, and many other debilitating
diseases). You must be of sound mind (competent to make decisions), and be expected to die within
six months of submitting your request. (Soo Borson is a professor of psychiatry and behavioral
sciences and psychosocial and community health nursing at the University of Washington.)
C. The specific method in each state varies, but mainly involves a prescription from a licensed
physician approved by the state in which the patient is a resident.
PAS is very different than euthanasia because it is centralized around choice.
In PAS, the patient must self administer the medications; the assisted portion attributes to a physician
providing the medications, but the patient decides whether and when to ingest the lethal medication.
Euthanasia occurs when a third party administers medication or acts directly to end the patient s life.
Euthanasia is illegal in every state, including Washington. (CNN).
Two of the costly effects of limiting this option is lack of respect for autonomy and refusing to grant
death upon those that wish for it.

The cost of Medical equipment plays a significant role in the delivery of health care. The clinical

over the long term ended up costing VH more due to additional repair that had to be performed by

issue. The team where knowledgeable about VH s in house repairs of certain hospital equipments and
had to figure out if the company where capable of repairing the endoscope due to the complicated
nature of the equipment. One of the team members, Steve Elder suggested a coordination process
between Victoria Hospital and its affiliated partners. This suggestion was due to a meeting Mr. Elder
had attended in Toronto where multiple hospitals combined their purchasing budgets to form an in
house repair department. The in house repair process would entail pre repair screening which will
supply estimates for needed services. The annual budget for equipment parts will decrease and
approximate repair time will minimize due to the availability of an in house trained technician. For
example, the in house repair estimated that the annual equipment part cost would be $25,000 compare
to the $20,000 to $30,000 additional fee that VH currently pay to the outside vendor. The other

Suicide In Edwidge Danticat s A Wall Of Fire Rising
Hope is salvation. It is the thing we seek in times of distress and hardship. But more often than not we
put our hope of a better future to be passed down to our next generation. Krik? Krak! By Edwidge

experience in Haiti and even outside of it. Because of these challenges and hardships, Danticat
portrays the idea of when people go through suffering , the hope of a better fate lies in the future

In A Wall of Fire Rising Guy foreshadows his feeling of suicide and his hope for Little Guy to move

An Eco Friendly Practice For Your Lawn And Garden
It seems so ridiculous that gardening would be an area where we need to be environmentally

shouldn t it? Unfortunately, mostly for the sake of modern convenience, there are now so many
chemicals tied up in gardening either to make your veggies pest free and fruitful or to make certain
your flowers are weed free and extra large that we almost negate the positive ecological impact of
growing plants. Fortunately, there are ways to have it all well fertilized, bug less plants, and a clear,

it has so many benefits, it is almost like cheating. It is both a pest control agent and a growth medium,
and it retains water and nutrients, while assisting with drainage. The primary drawbacks are the
potential for harm to helpful insects and the dangers of inhalation, depending on which type you buy

Buffy The Vampire Slayer Persuasive Speech
During the episode Hush from Joss Whedon s the hit series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Buffy the main
character s hometown Sunnydale is invaded by demons who call themselves The Gentlemen. The
Gentlemen come into a town during the late hours of the night and while everyone is asleep they steal
the voices of the towns people, and begin to harvest their hearts. This relates to how most politicians
come and take over a town and many times the citizens of said town have no say in anything.Similar
to The Gentlemen, politicians seem to emerge out of thin air and take control of everything, by doing
things their own way and ignoring what their suppose to do as politicians. The Gentlemen as political
leaders have to steal the voices of the townspeople in order have complete control. Similarly to the
tactics of politicians, The Gentlemen suddenly came into town and since they are superior, they

stand up for what they believe in and use their voices just like how Buffy used her scream to defeat the
gentlemen. For example, people complain about how things are not right but instead of complaining
they could just use their voices to speak up then things would be different instead of complaining
continuously. Then people who are more so suited for political positions would end up elected. And
just like how Buffy used her scream in order to defeat the Gentlemen, the people would use their
voices to rise up and create a better political system with good hearted people. This just comes to

Empathy In Nursing
Empathy is a respectful understanding of what others are experiencing. Instead of offering empathy,
we often have a strong urge to give advice or reassurance and to explain our own position or feeling.
Empathy, however, calls upon us to empty our mind and listen to others with our whole being, said by
Marshall Rosenberg. As a nurse it is a part of your duties to incorporate empathy in the patient care.
Nurses care for multiple patients and need to tend to each individual s needs in order to improve the
quality of care. Empathy is an essential intellectual trait that opposes intellectual narrow mindedness.
Intellectual empathy is essential in understanding the patients, being able to communicate with the

Navajo Immersion Study
The Navajo immersion programs in the American Southwest are very interesting because they have
been very successful in teaching Navajo without sacrificing the student s academic performance or

consistently outperformed their peers in more traditional monolingual English programs. These

some flexibility for students who aren t native speakers of English, or if English speaking students
also benefit from learning an additional language. I suspect there are a lot of benefits that can be
gained for students of all language backgrounds, and the United States should be more open to

Under the Equal Opportunity Employment law you are not supposed to be discriminated against
because of race, color, religion, or sex. However, some jobs do bombard you about your beliefs. For
instance, when 9/11 happened the Islamic nation all became ridiculed where ever they went. If you
look at that from a relativism point of view they were all being grouped in because of the mishap of 2
or 3 people who happened to be Islamic. In that case it is unfair, because not all Islamic religions

months after 9/11 when I was looking for my first co op term job. My résumé stated that I was

having Muslim on my résumé. The career counsellor suggested that, instead of saying Muslim
Students Association I say MSA Campus Club and instead of saying Young Muslims Canada I say
YM Canada . She thought it might have something to do with it. And as soon as I did that, I got offers
and interviews. So after that fact it became obvious that, yes, I was probably being discriminated
against. Other interviewees also recalled similar experiences, suggesting that young Muslims are
vulnerable to facing economic and professional obstacles due to employment discrimination (Nagra,

In today s society no one should have to change their organizations around just to be considered for a
job, or interview. A deontologist would analyze this situation by using the Golden Rule. The Golden

people should have a fair right to gaining a job off of their work ethics, and if they ultimately qualify
for the position. Judging someone just because of their organizational work is morally unethical. If

Examples Of Relationships In The Odyssey
Relationships are a result of what people put into it and what they take out. In The Odyssey by Homer,
relationships show up as respectable, loyal, and moral. While other examples are corrupt, and
immoral. Also relationships shows up in Beauty Sleep by Cameron Dokey. Some of the examples
have great connections, and some other ones have no connection at all. The Last book I found some
examples on relationships is Midnight Pearls by Debbie Viguie. The examples I found were romantic
or just as a friend. The Odyssey, Beauty Sleep, and Midnight Pearls all have wonderful, and romantic
relationships and other are horrible, not good relationships.

Tell Tale Heart Narrative
All About Stories And Why They Are Told Many authors are able to convey literary elements in their
work. Throughout the story The Tell Tale Heart , by Edgar Allan Poe, he shows astronomical amounts
of flashbacks, imagery and a blood curdling theme. Any type of wholesome story will include these
elements to avail the ultimate goal; to regale, persuade or apprise the reader or audience. By utilizing
literary terms and elements to expound the purpose, any author or inditer will show great development
in their inditement works. Starting on the second paragraph, Poe utilizes a flashback to commence his

The reason why Miss Brill lives her life through others is because she is scared to take risks. Why she

damaging had happened to Miss Brill when she was a child or young woman that left her obstinate as

This choice of Miss Brill s has left her lonely and somewhat delusional. It s these two main
characteristics of Miss Brill that make her flat. If the author had perhaps included some background on
why Miss Brill is who she is, the reader may then be able to identify Miss Brill as a round and

of a person that is repeatedly stressed about their appearance flaws. Victims of body dysmorphic
disorder are mainly teenagers of this generation, who are overly conscious of their body image,
therefore, they may choose to avoid company, take on severe diets and exercise, past their limits.
Anything unpleasant or that exert their comfort zone is considered harmful as it will cause the brain to
take dangerous decisions, like, commit suicide. To get teenagers to do these things in a comfortable
and controllable way, we need an app that could track how much time is spent alone, what nutritious
foods are needed and how much exercise should be done. DepressLess is an app made for electronic
devices; it will be used by those who have access to phones, computers, laptop, etc. Female teenagers,
ages 13 to 19, are most likely to be using electronic devices, thus, this app will be most beneficial to
them as they are probable to be self conscious about their body image. Initially, this app is designed
for the use of victims with body dysmorphic disorder but, as it involves healthier food intake and
relaxation exercises, the target audience expands to various people with different

Charles Moose Case Study
At 3:19 in the morning on October 24, 2002 to be correct ballistic identification was instrumental in
helping Montgomery County Police Chief Charles Moose and a group of examinations find the
Washington DC territory snipers that was threatening the Washington DC zone throughout 23 long
days. Tragically 10 individuals had been indiscriminately gunned down and three were critically
injured while completing activities in their everyday life such as taking a casual walk, shopping at the
Spotsylvania Mall, attending school, pumping gas, eating out, and going to work. A big break in the
case came ironically from the sniper themselves. On October 17, 2002 an anonymous caller claiming
to be the snipper boasted that he was responsible for the murder

Dyslexia and life
For a long time, dyslexia has been causing many humans, especially children, to have learning
difficulties. The World Federation of Neurologists define dyslexia as, a disorder in children who,
despite conventional classroom experience, fail to attain the language skills of reading, writing, and
spelling commensurate with their intellectual abilities ( Dyslexia, 2013). Sometimes the letter m might
look like w, and the number 3 might look like 8; dyslexia basically makes it harder for people to
improve their language abilities. This is the behavior I wish to change because of the many negative
impacts it has on people s literacy skills and lives. Many dyslexic children have considerable
disadvantages while reading out loud or taking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Students studying at Yale University have discovered that defects in a gene, DCDC2, are related to
problems in reading skills. The DCDC2 gene (when it is not supposed to) goes into contact with
KIAA0319, which is known as a dyslexic gene ( What is Dyslexia? 2013). None of these hypotheses
have been proven yet. Anyway, dyslexics can have difficulties understanding every time they begin to
read. The number of times dyslexia occurs or the time of the day it occurs cannot be told; whenever
those people are reading, the language complications can be seen. Two main theories have been
present regarding the reasons for why this behavior occurs, which are the cerebellar theory and the
magnocellular theory. We have proof that dyslexic people cannot process visual concepts (which
makes it harder for them to read or write). The magnocellular theory states that this occurs because
there is something wrong with the magnocellular pathways. Magnocellular pathways are part of the
central nervous system, and allow humans to process visual details from their surroundings. Scientists
believe that with these pathways not working, humans obtain dyslexia and are not able to remember
the presented information. On the other hand, the cerebellar theory says that people who have
problems in the cerebellum might become dyslexic. The cerebellum is basically responsible for human
motor control and language. Dysfunctions in the cerebellum can cause

Costa Rica Comparison
Costa Rica is an absolutely beautiful country. It is full of tropical flowers, trees, fruits, and animals.
The waters are the bluest of blue and the landscape is the greenest that I have ever seen. There are also
beautiful volcanos and mountain ranges throughout Costa Rica. It was extremely fascinating to me
how different Costa Rica is compared to the United States not only in looks but also in culture and
history. Geography While in Costa Rica my team visited the cities of San Jose, Limon, Talamanca,
and Puerto Viejo. All of these cities lie on the southeastern side of Costa Rica next to the Caribbean
Sea. The differences in the beaches was extremely interesting to me. While we were in Talamanca, the
beach was fairly dirty but private. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Here in the United States our culture is fairly consistent. When one visits another state there may be
some differences in the way things are done, but definitely not drastic differences in culture. While my
team was in Costa Rica I felt as if I had visited three different countries. The cultures of San Jose,
Talamanca, and Puerto Viejo are completely different. When my team arrived in San Jose the first
thing that I noticed was the culture. It was completely different from the United States. The people
were extremely inviting and accepting. The city was not as loud as a city in the United States either.
There were no sirens or horns honking. In fact, most cars were off the road by about eight o clock in
the evening. According to Pedro, our guide and translator, most Costa Rican s go to sleep around nine
in the evening and start their day around five in the morning. Talamanca was extremely laid back. It
reminded me a lot of a Mennonite community. Most people in the village did not drive cars but instead
rode horses. Ninety percent of their food is home grown including fruits, vegetables, and butter. There
is a truck that comes through the village every morning with chicken and fresh eggs, but other than
that their meat is caught. The people of Talamanca look out for each other. It is extremely community
oriented, but also nature oriented. For example, while the team was walking on the beach we stopped

Media s Effect On The Black Society
Media has a detrimental effect on the black society. Blacks have very little, if any control in what the
media displays. How many African American Television network companies are there? How many
African American Television companies are competing with the big named companies who rack in
millions or billions of dollars? It is logical to say whomever controls the media, controls the mind.
Television is a common form of media . A lot of things that we watch has been carefully hand picked
and crafted for blacks but not by blacks. There are currently no Black owned television networks. The
question is; who is feeding our minds? Television network companies are almost completely
dominated by middle aged to elderly Caucasian male. Many may assume that BET is black owned;
however as of 2001 BET has been taken over by Viacom . Who owns Viacom? Sumner Redstone, an
elderly Caucasian male. BET is the most prominent network in targeting Black households and
reaches over 90 Million households. Having no black owned television networks lead to a non black
persons perception of black people and black culture. This displays a fabricated experience and
idealism of what these networks think black people are or should be. It is equivalent to an individual
making a documentary on what it is like being Oprah Winfrey but they are not Oprah. Winfrey.
(Viacom Accquires BET, 2015)
The media s the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and
to make the

  • 3. Television s Influence On Television Throughout history television has seen many changes such as improved acting, special effects, graphics, camera work, ideas, and many other changes. Cop/Investigation shows are the focus of his paper. Investigation shows in particular have become more in depth and realistic. During the 60 s television exploded. There was 245 million TV sets in American homes. At the time, that was more TV sets than people in the United States. With all the turmoil with the JFK assassination, early stages of the Vietnam War, the lifestyle of Sex, Drugs, and Rock n Roll and others, television was used to reach out to people. During the 70 s television began to become even more popular because people started liking it more and people were able to afford it. That changed the way television was represented and what was on television. Cop shows from these two era s started getting more realistic. Crime, cop, or investigation shows in the 70 s are more realistic than those shows of the 60 s. In the 60 s shows like I Spy , and Adam 12 started to turn up. Starting in 1965 I Spy is about a pair of intelligence agents that go on secret missions around the world as a response to James Bond Movies. A pair of American agents faces espionage adventures with skill, humor and some serious questions about their work. • 4. Security Analysis Of A Protocol For Pollution Attack... ABSTRACT The following technical paper Security Analysis of a Protocol for Pollution Attack Detection is based on the concept of network coding. Since we have a limited bandwidth it becomes imperative for us to optimize our network in such a way that we can make maximum use of the network resources. Network coding allows us to do that. It achieves this by combining different packets that it receives at a node into one single packet for transmission, instead of simply taking and forwarding the packets. However, network coding is vulnerable to pollution attacks where a single malicious node can disrupt the operation of the complete network. Several protocols to detect pollution attacks have been proposed previously. In the following paper the author has described a new pollution attack detection protocol that extends the existing SpaceMac protocol. This paper describes how we have modelled the protocol in order to carry out a security analysis and presents the results of that analysis. INTRODUCTION Network coding allows multiple packets to be transmitted using a smaller number of packets thereby increasing throughput. Here a common single base station transmits data from a common single base station to intermediate stations where it is kept and sent out to the final destination or to any other intermediate stations at a later time. For a traditional network that employs multicast network, the stations receive a packet and forward it to the next node. Under network coding, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. History Of Dental Pulp Stem Cells Introduction Regeneration of tissues to replace diseased, missing and traumatized dentin/pulp emerges from recent progress in stem cell and tissue engineering research. Dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) are considered a promising population of cells in regenerative dentistry and have been shown to produce dentin/pulp like tissues following implantation in vivo (Gronthos et al., 2000; Gronthos et al., 2002; Shi et al., 2001). Importantly, DPSCs reside in the microvasculature region of the dental pulp and interact with perivascular cells (Shi and Gronthos, 2003). Therefore, endothelial cells could be a major source of modulators of pulp dentin development and angiogenesis. We recently showed that co culture of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) with DPSCs enhances osteo/odontogenic differentiation and angiogenesis in monolayer cultures (Dissanayaka et al., 2012). However, the interactions of these two cells in angiogenesis and pulp like tissue regeneration in vivo remain unknown. Shaping functional dentin/pulp complex from monodispersed expanded cell cultures is an ongoing challenge. Tissue engineers have thus mostly relied on biomaterials/scaffolds in which cells can grow and differentiate. Several reports have shown that dental stem cells being seeded onto a matrix scaffold and transplanted in vivo form a new tissue similar to that of the native pulp (Cordeiro et al., 2008; Rosa et al., 2013). However, none of the scaffolds described so far has all the structure ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this ever changing world of technology, the question is how are some companies doing better than the others and what are they doing to maintain competitive advantage? Rise of technology has given birth to competition by giving companies new ways to perform at higher levels and this has also led to the ways companies are producing their products and services. Technology has affected several sections of an organization by having an impact on business communications, company s HR practices, and organizational changes. Therefore, in order to gain and maintain competitive advantage, a company must do one of the two; either produce goods/services at a lower cost or produce innovative products in a way that leads to differentiation and a premium price. Section 1: Competitive Advantage through Value Chain and Vertical Integration Companies are using value chain approach to better understand which key areas will give them the greatest edge over its competitors. They are focusing on each division, distribution centers, pricing, product innovation, selling techniques, and value chain formations. Value chain is an important notion that highlights the role of information technology in the operations of a company. Disobedience as a Psychological and Moral Problem DISOBEDIENCE AS A PSYCHOLOGICAL AND MORAL PROBLEM 2 Disobedience as a Psychological and Moral Problem Erich Fromm Erich Fromm s essay Disobedience as a Psychological and Moral Problem suggests that humankind s evolution has, and continues to rely on man s capability to exercise disobedience. While discussing the positions of disobedience being considered a vice, and obedience being a virtue, Fromm reflects upon the history of Adam and Eve believing that eating the forbidden fruit was man s first act of disobedience. This is the point that broke the bond between man and nature requiring man to be dependant upon his own powers, while rewarding him with his complete humanity, freedom, ... He adds to this by introducing the concepts of rational and irrational authority, explaining that rational authority would be equivalent to that of a teacher and student whereby there is mutual benefit, while irrational authority would be identified by the likes of a slave and his owner who demonstrates complete disregard of the slave s happiness or well being, his only interest being how the slave will benefit him. Through a veil of lies man obeys the State, the Church, the mass opinions of their peers, or any other organization that they view to be in power. This affords him a false sense of safety and protection. In his obedience, man feels strong allowing him to be controlled by the fear of being isolated or having undesirable repercussions greet him as a result of any disobedience. Throughout history it has been evident that, for the most part, the few in power have ruled over the majority. The foundation of this relationship has been the few equating obedience with virtue and disobedience with sin, resulting in man not only needing to obey, but wanting to obey. Man s inability to see that he has lost his ability to disobey and stand up for what he believes and values, instead of what he has been brainwashed to believe and value, will inevitably ensure the destruction of all civilization at the hand of man. • 10. The Problem Of The Water Crisis To address something as complex as the water crisis, one must first examine the current condition of the problem. Currently, the water crisis is being driven by three things. First, many governments in Africa are not interested in investing in nationwide plumbing. That is either because they are not able to afford the cost of laying the info structure or they can afford it but feel no need to invest that much. Even if a country can afford to install plumbing, generally, plumbing is only installed in urban areas and has little to no effect on those living in rural Africa. Second, many large companies buy out water rights and use them to dump toxic chemicals with no oversight. The result is that there is less water considered drinkable. Furthermore, this can ruin long time water sources for people that may be nowhere near the business. Third, some companies who buy out water rights sell the water back to the people. Often times, they charge outrageous prices that the majority of citizens cannot afford. As a result, previously free water is now double the average income per day. In an effort to address the problem, a lot of nonprofits have formed for the express purpose of helping increase water accessibility. To do this, almost all of these companies dig wells. Unskilled groups use dug wells or driven wells which are subject to contamination and ineffective during a drought. Supply Irrigation Water Irrigation Systems Increasing threats of freshwater shortage, reduction in arable land, and more frequent and severe droughts due to climate change has stimulated research into water saving irrigation strategies aiming at producing more crop per drop (Morison et al., 2008). The trend in recent years has been towards conversion of surface irrigation to drip irrigation to improve water use efficiency, plant quality and, crop yield. Drip irrigation systems have increasingly been used to supply irrigation water, fertilizers, and pesticides to a wide range of vegetables, field crops, and fruit trees due to their ability to enable highly localized application of water and nutrients to crops (Kandelous et al., 2011; Selim et al., 2013). Studies also used disturbed soil samples by gravimetric method (Al Mefleh and Abu Zreig, 2013; KUMAR et al., 2015) and point based soil water sensors such as TDR (da Silva et al., 2009; dos Santos et al., 2016) and capacitance probes (Fernández Gálvez and Simmonds, 2006) to estimate SWC variations under drip irrigation. Most of these studies have investigated two dimensional (2D) wetting patterns changes while three dimensional (3D) wetting patterns could provide more insights into the changes of wetted radius and depth under drip irrigation. This is due to the fact that spatial variations in soil properties induce spatial variations in water distribution patterns between drippers (Or, 1996) and consequently sensor placements to detect wetted soil volumes around drippers become challenging. Because it requires large number of measurement points distributed vertically and horizontally around an emitter to monitor variations in wetting patterns which is laborious and time consuming and practically infeasible sometimes if point based sensors used. Therefore, it is necessary to explore alternative soil water sensing techniques which could provide spatially dense measurements at small to field scales. • 12. Themes In The Old Man And The Sea The Old Man and the Sea, by Ernest Hemingway, shares many similarities with the movie Cast Away. Christopher Noland and Santiago are both stranded in middle of the ocean, searching for something to get them home. But those are not nearly the only things the same about the two works of art. Both beautiful narratives share the themes of pride, solitude, and endurance. Cast Away and Hemingway s novel tell a very similar story, differing only by character and setting. Both tales involve the idea of pride. For Cast Away, Noland takes pride in always delivering his packages on time. In Hemingway s story, Santiago is prideful of his fishing job. As Noland said in one of the early scenes of the movie, First thing it s two minutes, then four, then six, then the next thing you know, we re the U.S. mail. (Cast Away) The U.S. mail is well known for their habit of being late when delivering their packages. He takes pride in the fact that his branch of FedEx is on time, and tears into his workers for being even a few minutes late, because if they are late, they will continually get later and later, until they are as unreliable as the previously mentioned U.S. mail. His pride would never let anything as horrible as that happen, for if it did, he would feel personally responsible for the failure of his co workers. In The Old Man and the Sea, Santiago states that he once went 87 days without fish, then he caught big ones everyday for three weeks. (Hemingway, p.10) This certainly shows ... The specific method in each state varies, but mainly involves a prescription from a licensed physician approved by the state in which the patient is a resident. In PAS, the patient must self administer the medications; the assisted portion attributes to a physician providing the medications, but the patient decides whether and when to ingest the lethal medication. Euthanasia occurs when a third party administers medication or acts directly to end the patient s life. Euthanasia is illegal in every state, including Washington. (CNN). Tragically 10 individuals had been indiscriminately gunned down and three were critically injured while completing activities in their everyday life such as taking a casual walk, shopping at the Spotsylvania Mall, attending school, pumping gas, eating out, and going to work. A big break in the case came ironically from the sniper themselves. On October 17, 2002 an anonymous caller claiming to be the snipper boasted that he was responsible for the murder ... • 40. Dyslexia and life For a long time, dyslexia has been causing many humans, especially children, to have learning difficulties. The World Federation of Neurologists define dyslexia as, a disorder in children who, despite conventional classroom experience, fail to attain the language skills of reading, writing, and spelling commensurate with their intellectual abilities ( Dyslexia, 2013). Sometimes the letter m might look like w, and the number 3 might look like 8; dyslexia basically makes it harder for people to improve their language abilities. This is the behavior I wish to change because of the many negative impacts it has on people s literacy skills and lives. Many dyslexic children have considerable disadvantages while reading out loud or taking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Students studying at Yale University have discovered that defects in a gene, DCDC2, are related to problems in reading skills. The DCDC2 gene (when it is not supposed to) goes into contact with KIAA0319, which is known as a dyslexic gene ( What is Dyslexia? 2013). None of these hypotheses have been proven yet. Anyway, dyslexics can have difficulties understanding every time they begin to read. The number of times dyslexia occurs or the time of the day it occurs cannot be told; whenever those people are reading, the language complications can be seen. Two main theories have been present regarding the reasons for why this behavior occurs, which are the cerebellar theory and the magnocellular theory. We have proof that dyslexic people cannot process visual concepts (which makes it harder for them to read or write). The magnocellular theory states that this occurs because there is something wrong with the magnocellular pathways. Magnocellular pathways are part of the central nervous system, and allow humans to process visual details from their surroundings. Scientists believe that with these pathways not working, humans obtain dyslexia and are not able to remember the presented information. On the other hand, the cerebellar theory says that people who have problems in the cerebellum might become dyslexic. The cerebellum is basically responsible for human motor control and language. Dysfunctions in the cerebellum can cause ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Costa Rica Comparison Costa Rica is an absolutely beautiful country. It is full of tropical flowers, trees, fruits, and animals. The waters are the bluest of blue and the landscape is the greenest that I have ever seen. There are also beautiful volcanos and mountain ranges throughout Costa Rica. It was extremely fascinating to me how different Costa Rica is compared to the United States not only in looks but also in culture and history. Geography While in Costa Rica my team visited the cities of San Jose, Limon, Talamanca, and Puerto Viejo. All of these cities lie on the southeastern side of Costa Rica next to the Caribbean Sea. The differences in the beaches was extremely interesting to me. While we were in Talamanca, the beach was fairly dirty but private. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Here in the United States our culture is fairly consistent. When one visits another state there may be some differences in the way things are done, but definitely not drastic differences in culture. While my team was in Costa Rica I felt as if I had visited three different countries. The cultures of San Jose, Talamanca, and Puerto Viejo are completely different. When my team arrived in San Jose the first thing that I noticed was the culture. It was completely different from the United States. The people were extremely inviting and accepting. The city was not as loud as a city in the United States either. There were no sirens or horns honking. In fact, most cars were off the road by about eight o clock in the evening. According to Pedro, our guide and translator, most Costa Rican s go to sleep around nine in the evening and start their day around five in the morning. Talamanca was extremely laid back. It reminded me a lot of a Mennonite community. Most people in the village did not drive cars but instead rode horses. Ninety percent of their food is home grown including fruits, vegetables, and butter. There is a truck that comes through the village every morning with chicken and fresh eggs, but other than that their meat is caught. The people of Talamanca look out for each other. It is extremely community oriented, but also nature oriented. For example, while the team was walking on the beach we stopped ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Media s Effect On The Black Society Media has a detrimental effect on the black society. Blacks have very little, if any control in what the media displays. How many African American Television network companies are there? How many African American Television companies are competing with the big named companies who rack in millions or billions of dollars? It is logical to say whomever controls the media, controls the mind. Television is a common form of media . A lot of things that we watch has been carefully hand picked and crafted for blacks but not by blacks. There are currently no Black owned television networks. The question is; who is feeding our minds? Television network companies are almost completely dominated by middle aged to elderly Caucasian male. Many may assume that BET is black owned; however as of 2001 BET has been taken over by Viacom . Who owns Viacom? Sumner Redstone, an elderly Caucasian male. BET is the most prominent network in targeting Black households and reaches over 90 Million households. Having no black owned television networks lead to a non black persons perception of black people and black culture. This displays a fabricated experience and idealism of what these networks think black people are or should be. It is equivalent to an individual making a documentary on what it is like being Oprah Winfrey but they are not Oprah. Winfrey. (Viacom Accquires BET, 2015) The media s the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
