Do Patients who Undergo Renal Transplantation Suffer from...
Do patients who undergo renal transplantation suffer from long term dental/health complications as
opposed to individuals who have not undergone transplantation?
My search strategy for the scientific literature started with PubMed. I input the following phrase into
the search bar: Dental complications from kidney transplants . 100 articles were gathered as potential
scientific literatures that could be used for my specific learning issue. In finding articles that provided
general dental and health complications, the task offered a manageable list of scientific articles to sift
through. For the next time, I would like to focus on specific dental/health complications from kidney
transplants and how it could affect patients in such ways instead of in a general systemic manner.
The first selected article, The status of dental and jaw bones in children and adolescents after kidney
and liver transplantation , focuses on the main systemic complications patients may encounter after
renal transplantation within the oral cavity. The research question the Department of Pediatric
Dentistry at the Medical University of Warsaw in Warsaw, Poland, posed was to evaluate the
incidence of various dental abnormalities within children who underwent kidney transplantation with
the added factor of taken immunosuppressant drugs. A benefit of the article in its choice of including
the potential cause of these abnormalities as a consequence of taking various immunosuppressant
drugs adds an extra

Comparison Of The Taiping Rebellion And Indian Mutiny
The Taiping Rebellion and Indian Mutiny were both revolts caused by Britain s actions, motivated by
their wish to control international trade in stride towards their Imperialistic goals of globalizing their
trade network to maximize profit and control. As information was gathered on Southeast Asia, Britain
became increasingly interested by the potential value of native goods. With the additional help of
developing technology at the time, Britain was able to gain control via despotism. The imperialistic
rule was successful as encountered regions in Southeast Asia had always easily controlled by global
powers, until indigenous voices in India and China were finally heard in their fight to push back
against Britain s greedy actions. Britain had found it necessary to expand their reach in India and
China for various reasons, some of which being to spread Christianity, creating more ports for sailors,
and benefitting trade networks. However India and China found fewer benefits in Britain s motives
and their message was eventually heard as the indigenous fought Britain s globalization tactics that
were not mutually beneficial but could be found on the agenda of British Imperialism.
The Taiping Rebellion and The Indian Mutiny, sometimes referred to as the Sepoy Mutiny, were
sparked for different reasons but both took place after the British gained influence on their respective
territories. Beginning with the Taiping Rebellion, a revolt not against foreigners but meant to counter

Cause Concussions In Soccer
The game of soccer requires many crucial aspects to fully understand and control the game to where
you can shine your brightest, however, with the banning of heading the ball, it may delay your
progress. With the new US soccer guidelines on heading the soccer ball being banned from being
taught till the age of 14, it seems to be quite ridiculous. From being friends with many who play
soccer and to having entire family members coming from a background of play soccer and heading in
balls, it may come to be a shock. Many of the best soccer players in the world such as Cristiano
Ronaldo and Lionel Messi started playing at such a young age and went through the many mechanics
that go forth with soccer including heading which have contributed heavily towards their careers.
Though heading in soccer may cause concussions at certain times, it doesn t conclude the fact that a
significant amount of concussions are caused by the physicality of the sport. Soccer is a contact sport
which entails for a concussion to occur at a type of dynamic. I believe that heading in soccer should
not be banned due to the reasons of the physicality that is involved in soccer and as well as heading
not being the major indication of concussions during play and as well as chances of getting a
concussion through heading the ball. The world of soccer is an immense sport with millions of fans
and athletes that are all over the playing this interesting game, however, what if you take away
heading? Soccer is

Character Foils for Odysseus
The Odyssey is the epic that has been read time and time again, by varying ages, digging its way into
our hearts, becoming an instant classic. Odysseus and the adventures of his homecoming create a
much different tale than Homer s other work, the Iliad, provided. The epic is not about bloodthirsty
men trying to get their hands on kleos anymore; it is about the homecoming of a man who uses his
wits, not his weapon. In the Odyssey, the characters balance Homer provides contrasting characters to
show the readers the traits that Odysseus holds and how it builds his character development and even
those who are foils to him. Odysseus own son, Trojan War ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Agamemnon was stabbed to death by the vengeful tag team. Agamemnon s son, Orestes, unleashed
vengeance upon his mother and her lover. Agamemnon s family is a foil for Odysseus family life.
Odysseus family loves him very dearly and has done no wrong as he was away. Penelope, unlike
Clytemnestra, stays loyal to Odysseus and even creates an ingenious plan to keep the suitors off her
back. Telemachos on the other hand has to deal with the suitors who are trying to marry his mother
and have been dishonoring his father, Odysseus, eating their fill since they sat their butts on the stools
they deem as weapons. Telemachos can t even stand up to the suitors as Agamemnon s son took
revenge on the people who killed his father. This shows how Telemachos should be as a son and will
soon be as he grows up to be more like his father. Menelaos had a long homecoming due to the gods,
just as Odysseus had. Menelaos angered the Egyptian gods, due to the lack of knowledge of Egyptian
customs. He was able to get home with all of his crew, unlike Odysseus, who was a lone survivor.
Although Menelaos had an easier homecoming than Odysseus, he did not have a faithful wife, just
like Agamemnon. Helen was the reason for the Trojan War; for Menelaos it was not easy to forgive an
unfaithful wife to that degree. He cannot rejoin the present as easily due to all that was lost in Troy,
destined to be full of grief for

Virtual Community Of Practice
Communication problems in new virtual communities with limited face to face contact have resulted
in a high failure rate in terms of usability and adoption. The purpose of this case study was to explore
the communication processes of members in small consulting organizations with regard to using
accurate information in a virtual community of practice. Social capital and motivation models of
social learning served as the theoretical bases. The focus of the research questions was on using virtual
communities of practice in small consulting organizations, particularly internal communication and
the advantages and disadvantages of that communication practice. Data were collected through in
depth interviews with open ended questions from 20 participants who were either staff or
administrators in small consulting organizations in northern ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Themes and patterns were extracted from interview transcripts through content analysis, and data were
analyzed in relation to the main study questions. Findings indicated that virtual communities of
practice could be successful, information sharing could be limited but was evolving, and information
shared was generally perceived to be accurate but may not have been routinely updated. The results
included positive and negative aspects of the virtual community of practice within an organization,
through which the organizational leaders could gain a deeper understanding of the uses of virtual
communication in the company. Increased efficiency, improved collaboration strategies, and a deeper
understanding of the uses of virtual communities of practice within organizations have implications
for positive social change. Recommendations for further research include specific guidelines and an

Acquiring Personal Freedom
On a cold January day, a performance broke all barriers. The crowd erupted as the curtains opened to
reveal the silhouette of a rock legend. The music initiated moves that seemed to defy explanation.
Long, sensuous legs captured the audience as they moved with lightning speed while voluptuous red
lips seemed to pour lyrics like a fountain. Some people were in shock about who was performing,
while some mystified by how the artist seemed to control the stage. The singer was creating questions
with every gyration during the unstoppable performance. No one, including me, could believe what

this, but I put on a front that was one of confidence to help them. The reason I appeared to have it all
together was that I knew if I showed any sign of nervousness or fear, everyone else would see it and
feel the same. After a few practices, we felt ready for the real thing.
Thursday morning began like all the others. The sun rose over the cold valley to reveal the fog rising
off the river. As I arrived at school, I felt relieved, mostly because I was finally able to escape the
constant screaming and giggling that blasted out of the little kids at the front of the bus. When I
entered the office, looks of intrigue showered over me as I placed my costume on the floor. The
morning seemed to last an eternity and the butterflies seemed to be getting thicker. To me, lunch was
tasteless and I was not able to stomach much of it since it was only an hour till I was supposed to
break a leg. When it was time to get ready, I grabbed my outfit and proceeded to the bathroom. My
sinuses became cauterized as I entered the bathroom to change. My mind was too busy processing my
nervous feelings that I did not notice two other people enter the bathroom until they began to leave.
With my entourage of clothing nearly masking my true gender, I stepped to the mirror and began to

Irish Dbq Essay
In 1790s Glasgow there were no more than thirty nine Catholics living in the City, yet there were forty
three anti Catholic societies. Ironically, it could be argued that it was only after the question of Irish
independence had been essentially removed from politics in Scotland, that the Catholic Church
discovered a sense of nationalism in the journey for political power and influence. Moreover, the
Catholic Church could not put a stop to their flock s identification that voting Labour was a basic issue
of class. This invoked a scenario that can only be described as institutional religious bigotry especially
in the inter war period. Anti Irish prejudice was far more prominent in this era and not simply
discrimination uniquely identified ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
McCaffrey contends that even though many Irish Catholics were ignorant of the social and political
realities of life in industrial cities, with many browbeaten by the obscurantism of their priests, they
gradually emerged as a major factor in the embryonic Labour Party. Additionally, Gallagher defines
the rise of Catholic Unions, asserting they were particularly energetic in the inter war period in the
realm of politics with a mission to organise the Catholic vote to guarantee that the interests of the
Catholic population were catered for politically, thus they looked to the Labour Party to support them
in this need. Catholic activists, up until 1914, were predominately in the form of the United Irish
League. It could be argued that the United Irish League had skillfully garnered the Catholic vote in
support of Irish nationalism. This was based on the premise Irish Catholics in Scotland feared Labour
politics were dominated by Protestants and could lead to secular education. The passing of the1918
Education Act, a situation that incited sectarian anger, with the phrase No Rome on the Rates was
pivotal in changing the relationship between the Catholic Church and Labour

Pros And Cons Of Lobbying Harm The United States
To what degree does lobbying harm the United States?
Drew Wolf
Capstone/Santer
April 20, 2017
Word Count:
Introduction
Lobbying is an issue that has recently found itself at the forefront of the American politics. Many feel
that lobbying is essentially a legalized form of bribery and has lead to the government catering to the
needs of special interests instead of the interests of America at large. According to a survey conducted
by the Pew Research Center, 74% of Americans believe that elected officials place their own interests
ahead of the country s. So it seems many Americans wonder who their representatives are actually

According to a survey conducted by FORTUNE on lobbyists, lawmakers and staff of the lawmakers
found the that aforementioned groups consistently ranked the NRA as the second most powerful
interest group in the United States. Furthermore, the NRA (National Rifle Association) spends around
three million dollars annually according to Opensecrets. Even if you disagree with the beliefs of this
interest group, they do show how an interest group can exercise influence without spending large
amounts on lobbying.
How exactly is the NRA able to exercise such a great amount of power over what legislation is passed
when their lobbying budget is so small? The answer lies in the fact that their constituents are very
politically active.
This makes sense when you put yourself in a congressperson s shoes.
If you had to decide how to vote on a piece of legislation what would influence your vote more; seeing
a poll that says 80% of Americans support the legislation or receiving dozens of angry phone calls
telling you that voting in favor of the legislation would violate one of the most important rights in the
constitution and send the entire country hurtling towards

Critical Appreciation Of Kipling
Credit here must be given to Kipling for doing a fantastic job at transliterating different accents and
dialects. That s usually difficult for an author to pull off convincingly, but here it is flawlessly done.
Particularly effective is when Kim and other characters switch from translated Hindi, fluent and full of

To My Dear And Loving Husband Analysis
During the colonization of North America, many settlers decided to escape traditional religion and
participate in religions often looked down upon in Europe. Puritan settlers wanted to purify the
Church of England and spread their religion to others. Often Puritan s prayed to God excessively and
thanked him [god] for everything. The three works of Puritan literature written by Mary Rowlandson,
Anne Bradstreet, and Jonathan Edwards typify greatly on the subject of God.
Many works of Puritan literature believe that God is the almighty force and will only give you mercy
if you pray and do good deeds. In the poem To My Dear and Loving Husband by Anne Bradstreet
states that Thy love is such I can no way repay, The heavens reward thee manifold, I pray. (9). This
quote displays the Puritan way of life by proving that Anne believes that because she prayed her
husband will be taken heaven. This belief is widely believed because it typifies to other similar

Essay on Two Methods of Defending the Trinity
Two Methods of Defending the Trinity
Christians believe in one God, yet the apparent contradictory nature of the Trinity is such that it has
caused many to doubt whether Christianity is indeed monotheistic. This has consequently caused
Christians to defend their monotheism in relation to the Trinity. In the two such defenses that are
studied in this essay, we find that Christians have explained the nature of Trinity with varying degrees
of effectiveness and success. Timothy the Patriarch defends the Trinity before the Caliph Madhi with
few compelling arguments, and Gregory of Nyssa explains it in a more abstract and therefore more
effective way. Each however defends the Trinity according to his understanding of it. ... Show more

Timothy offers several apt analogies comparing the Trinity to earthly things, yet he fails to offer a
compelling argument to refute the Caliph s simple yet powerful statement: If He is one, He is not
three; and if He is three he is not one; what is this contradiction? (69).
The most obvious of Timothy s logical errors is that he assumes (naturally) that the Son of the Trinity
is in fact the Christ or Messiah of the Hebrew Scripture. He therefore refers to Hebrew Scripture to
show that the Son is equal and not subservient to the Father: God, therefore, called Christ a Lord
through the prophet David, and since no true lord is a servant, it follows that Christ is not a servant
(82). The flaw in this logic, or at least the reason for its failure to convince the Caliph, lies in the fact
that the Caliph cannot believe that Jesus is the Christ. The logic is also flawed from a modern point of
view, for there the writers of the Hebrew Scripture knew neither Jesus nor the concept of the Trinity. It
would therefore be anachronistic to use such references or to claim for example that the We of the
creation story in Genesis refers to the Christian Trinity.
Timothy makes similar mistakes in reference to the Koran and the Gospels. He says, It is also possible

Assuming you can consistently deliver this payback, it is much easier to get

After
Documentum s initial success in the regulatory affairs department, they spread to other niches in every
department within pharmaceutical companies. Then they spread to other businesses with similar
regulatory problems
(regulated chemicals, oil refineries, etc.) This included a big win in the document management area
for oil and gas exploration and production companies, where Documentum helped them manage the
property/lease/royalty paperwork. This approach is often called the bowling pin model, because you
set up the initial niche as a headpin , knock it down and that makes it substantially easier to knock

This approach also helps you keep a controlled risk (or cash burn rate) by requiring the software

Volksgemeinshcaft
How Successful were the Nazis in Creating a Volksgemeinschaft?
To simply answer the question, the answer would be that they had very little success in creating their
National Community . Between the years 1933 39 the Nazi party set upon an idea of creating their
own race of racially pure Germans, an Aryan race. And to do this they had to remove all the people
they had thought of as unfit and against what they saw as the Aryan race, and create a
Volksgemeinschaft. Volksgemeinschaft was a people s community, where everybody was equal in
race. The Nazi party was prepared to go to extreme lengths to ensure that they got this racially pure
race, killing unfit Germans was a solution.
Hitler wanted a community joined only by blood and race, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Hitler wanted his race to have no weaknesses. If women didn t work, there would be increased family
allowance and the honour Cross of German Mother Hood. Woman would be offered extra payments
from the Nazi s if they were to stay at home and create these Aryan race children, mothers were
rewarded with money for the work they did. This was all introduced in order to entice Women from
the work place back to there home s and to have babies. Increasing the population was a well thought
out plan for the future made by Hitler; he did have long term plans for himself and Volksgemeinschaft.
Then the Nazis had to prepare for the future and the future of Germany was the youth. Many
organisations like the Hitler youth and the league for German Maidens were set up to teach the youth
to follow the Nazis. In the Hitler youth they were taught like the military, neat, tidy and organised. The
youth saw Hitler as a father figure in the fatherland and obeyed him. Then Hitler used indoctrination
in the education system to recruit them into the army as loyal Nazis. There were subtle Nazi views
added into all school work to brainwash the youth, as they were naive and didn t see the wrong side of
the Nazis true nature. The future of the people s community was successfully secure and the Nazis
would keep control for years to come.
During Hitler s efforts to create the Volksgemeinschaft he encountered several problems, regarding the

The Internet And The Renaissance Age
The Renaissance age started in Italy, specifically in Florence. The economy started to change during
the 13th hundred: trade, commerce and banking grew. The Internet, on the other hand, was invented in
1969 by a man called J.C.R Licklider. Changes Internet did to our economy are basically employment,
payments and time value. Since the world began, history has repeated itself in extraordinary and also
horrible ways. A positive example of this is the growth and improvements in both the Renaissance
culture and the Internet made to the global economy.
During Renaissance, italian cities became more productive and a developed creative thinking. Urban
areas were commercialised and also the price of commodities were fixed. The italian culture was
prospered and the foreign exchange market, insurance, stock companies, international banking and
government debt were developed. The northern part of the country acted as the main trade point for
silk, wool, silver, cloth, spices and armour. Venice was mostly known for book printing, which made
that city very important.
Commerce was not enough to improve wealth. Therefore some merchants also became bankers. All
banks became very important and they created a network in the middle ages that served to pay for
massive people such as princes. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Musical And Cultural Context Of Bollywood Music
The Musical and Cultural Context of Bollywood Music In my interview with Sumanyu Gupta, we
discussed the many facets of Indian Bollywood music. We discussed several of these aspects at length
including the unique storytelling structure of Bollywood songs, the deep meaning and role of
Bollywood as an emotional escape for Indian people, as well as the growing amount of western
influence heard in Bollywood music. I will begin my paper by briefly discussing some key
instruments and integral concepts utilized in Bollywood, followed by the cultural significance of
Bollywood, including Sumanyu s personal account. From there, I will dig deeper into the changes
being made due to westernization. From Bollywood s onset in ______, it has included several key
components (_____). For example, Bollywood music is set up as its own story. Sumanyu explained it
similar to as if it had its own beginning middle and end with its own climax and falling actions. More
often than not, Bollywood music is connected to some film, with its own plot line and story. Because
of this distinct story within a story aspect, as Sumanyu describes it, most songs are able to stand on
their own, yet still maintain a powerful and meaningful message. Additionally, there are several
instruments that are often heard in Bollywood music. I was told that the tabla, hollow drums that

The Godfather Conflict
This quote highlights the basis half of the plot and conflicts of the The Godfather, and half of what led
to it becoming the American classic it is. From 1972, this inspirational film explores a highly
romanticized version of the Italian mafioso culture. With most of the plot being split into either family,
business, or the conflicts when they overlap. this drama has to dig deep to hook onto emotions that we
can relate to. Based on Mario Puzo s novel, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, and acted by both
experts and amateurs alike, The Godfather was produced masterfully. While we may not be able to
identify with the overall business side of the story, we are able to do so with the half closer to home.
The exceptional usage of the three hours allows this film to not seem rushed while having us hang
onto every word. Personally, the part of the film that really sold this as one of my top movies was the
dual family/business nature of the most of the plot as well as how Michael compared to Vito in being
the Godfather.. The striking juxtaposition induces at least a few questions about how a character may

The Corleones steadily became more violent over the course of The Godfather, but this can be
attributed to the fact that the threat against their family is increasing. On the other hand, the moment
Vito is out of the picture, Michael offers to murder the family s enemies for revenge. Even when
Sonny is brutally peppered by bullets from a dozen Barzini buttonmen, Vito offers a ceasefire
opportunity. Michael simply had them all assassinated because it would be easier and more efficient
overall. We see here that the father son morality split is why this movie is such an inspiration and a
model for power struggles in general. The independent leadership styles of the latest Godfather make
it very clear that like father, like son can be staggeringly wrong at

The Economic Impact of the Olympic Games
Abstract Since de Second World War , there has been a substantial increase in the range of events
worldwide, varying from single day fetes and fairs to major sporting and cultural festivals.
Special events are seen to have the ability to produce a wide range of significant economic and social
benefits for communities and regions. In seeking to understand the field of special events, I took as a
case study the Olympic Games mega event.
KEYWORDS: special events, Olympic games, mega events, economic impact, investments

contribute substantially to a destination s range of tourist attractions, facilitate media coverage for the
destination, promote awareness of the destination for future visitation and lead to the construction of
new facilities and infrastructure. The prominence given to special events by governments and tourism
marketing organisations has resulted in some destinations seeking to specialise in the creation and
hosting of special events. There is also a trend towards the construction of mega venues catering for
conventions, trade shows, art and sporting events.
The proliferation of events, and event producing agencies, has resulted in the need for the performance
of events to be evaluated more stringently. Event managers and planners are now being called upon
more often to prepare comprehensive post event evaluations with detailed accounts of the impacts of
the event. As many special events require financial assistance from governments and businesses in
order to be staged, post event evaluations are required by such agencies that need to assess the value
of their investments. Evaluation is also required by event organisers who need to justify their activities
to a diverse set of stakeholders, which includes sponsors, funding agencies, economic and tourism

Postmodernism s The Swan As A Metaphor For Love
Postmodernism is a very unique era within American literature. In previous time periods authors wrote
very structured eventful stories that would often relate to the most common themes of the time,
however Postmodernism completely defied this formula. In most cases Postmodern stories do not
have story arcs nor do they have common themes. At most, the Post era can be bound by very vague
similarities. Most of the stories are conveyed through streams of conscious, which is essentially using
an unedited snippet of someone s life to create a story. There are no inner monologues or poetic
speeches, rather they only showcase a small scale continuous sliver of life. The narration device
similarity is cut and dry, however this can not be said for the themes within Postmodernism. In the
vaguest of words, Post era literature can be bound within a common ideal of expressing the terrible
and disappointing aspects of life. One of the most commonly attacked aspects of life is the sense of
love. In most forms of art and media love is portrayed as a glorious thing so long as it is true. Love
can conquer any mountain and defeat any foe, however Postmodernism portrays love in a very
different manner. In The Swan as a Metaphor for Love love is compared to a swan. On the surface
swans are seen as majestic creatures, similar to how love is seen as a beautiful emotion, but
underneath the water swans are revolting creatures covered in swan shit and pond scum . This idea
that a normal life

The New Zealand Police is the lead agency responsible for helping the community to decrease or
reduce crime, corruption and improve the responsibility of safety and protection in New Zealand.
There is a need to make changes to the police culture in order to improve the performance of their
organisation. However there are three fundamental errors that need to be addressed which will be
discussed in this essay. Firstly, there is a lack of an established sense of urgency which has the
potential to jeopardize the future of the organization. Secondly is, not creating a powerful enough

of such events in their society thus using practical advertising skills to lure customers in. One being,
advertising a car for a low price. A larger part of the population during this time was informed that a

The Special Relationship Between The Uk And The United States
It was only because of the special relationship with the USA that Britain could exert an influence on
international affairs in the years 1951 to 2007. Assess the validity of this view.
The Special Relationship between the UK and the US relates to the unusually close relationship
between these two world powers that has developed over the 20th and 21st centuries. They have an
incredibly tight co operation on such a wide variety of things, ranging from trade and economics to
military power, nuclear weapons and intelligence; one that is almost unprecedented in history for two
separate nations. After the Second World War, when the relationship was crystallised by the term it
became one as much of personal friendships as of political power; and given the closeness developed
between the two nations as a result of wartime, it became a keystone of post war politics in both
countries, having significant impact in both of their subsequent histories, and also those of other
nations. Some of these relationships have been iconic in their pairings: Margaret Thatcher and Ronald
Reagan; Tony Blair and George Bush; Churchill and Franklin Roosevelt (who were in fact related);
whilst others have been less fruitful Anthony Eden, a man previously considered to be the authority of
his time on foreign policy, having been Foreign Secretary for 30 years, had to resign as Prime Minister

African American athletes in sports and examines the genetic revolution that follows it. Taboo also

One interesting statistic that was presented was Blacks have a 1 in 4,000 chance of playing in the
NBA. While whites have a 1 in 90,000 chance (Entine 19). He also provides astonishing evidence of
the domination of African native track and field athletes. There is almost a complete absence of white
sprinters in the top 100 times in the 100, 200, and 400m races. This cannot be coincidence that
different races excel at different sporting events. Entine goes on to state All of the 32 finalists in the
last four Olympic men s 100 meter races are of West African descent. The likelihood of that happening
based on population numbers alone blacks from that region, now living around the globe, represent
approximately 8 percent of the world s population is 0.0000000000000000000000000000000001

Essay on Plato on the Existence of Negative Forms
Plato on the Existence of Negative Forms
The question of the origin and nature of evil in the world has preoccupied philosophers throughout
history. The ancient philosopher Plato does not directly address this question in his writings, but it can
be argued that the logic of his theory of forms demands the existence of forms that are negative in
meaning, such as the evil and the bad. When discussing his theory of imitation, Plato alludes to the
principle that whenever there are many things of the same nature, there is one form for that nature. In
several passages, Plato makes mention of many negative things. It can be debated, however, whether
or not the negative has a positive ontological character of its own for ... Show more content on

He writes:
Now, the god either because he didn?t want to or because it was not necessary for him to do so, didn?t
make more than one bed in nature, but only one, the very one that is the being of a bed. Two or more
of these have not been made by the god and never will be.
Why is that?
Because, if he made only two, then again one would come to light whose form they in turn would both
possess, and that would be the one that is the being of a bed and not the other two.[2]
Plato is saying that there is only one form for the many because there is a single nature that is
recognized as unifying each of the many. It is this nature that imitates the form and since the nature is
one, there can only be one form.
There are several points in the Republic where Plato alludes to many instances of a negative quality,
so it can be argued that, according to Plato?s system, there must be one negative form. For the purpose
of analyzing Aristotle?s criticism of Plato, David Ross outlines three distinct respects in which a term
can be considered negative.[3] The first category of negative terms that Ross identifies are those
which are ?purely negative in their meaning? such as the ?not good? or ?not beautiful.? What the
many not good have in common is the absence of being good. The second class of negative terms in
Ross?s division encompasses terms that are positive in the sense that they express a quality

Irony In The Open Window
Throughout the story, The Open Window , there are many examples of irony. Irony can be funny,
serious, or even scary. There are three types of irony; which are; situational, dramatic, and verbal.
Situational is what is expected to happen and what actually happens. Dramatic is when the audience
know more about something that is happening than the character does. Finally, verbal is the use of
words meaning something different than what they actually mean.
In the story, it says that Mrs. Sappleton s niece s name is Vera. Vera is a Slavic word that means truth;

Lastly, throughout the story there are hints that Vera may be a trouble maker. In paragraph eight, Vera
shows some interest that Franton doesn t know anyone or anything about the people in that town. As

  • 2. Do Patients who Undergo Renal Transplantation Suffer from... Do patients who undergo renal transplantation suffer from long term dental/health complications as opposed to individuals who have not undergone transplantation? My search strategy for the scientific literature started with PubMed. I input the following phrase into the search bar: Dental complications from kidney transplants . 100 articles were gathered as potential scientific literatures that could be used for my specific learning issue. In finding articles that provided general dental and health complications, the task offered a manageable list of scientific articles to sift through. For the next time, I would like to focus on specific dental/health complications from kidney transplants and how it could affect patients in such ways instead of in a general systemic manner. The first selected article, The status of dental and jaw bones in children and adolescents after kidney and liver transplantation , focuses on the main systemic complications patients may encounter after renal transplantation within the oral cavity. The research question the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the Medical University of Warsaw in Warsaw, Poland, posed was to evaluate the incidence of various dental abnormalities within children who underwent kidney transplantation with the added factor of taken immunosuppressant drugs. A benefit of the article in its choice of including the potential cause of these abnormalities as a consequence of taking various immunosuppressant drugs adds an extra ... Comparison Of The Taiping Rebellion And Indian Mutiny The Taiping Rebellion and Indian Mutiny were both revolts caused by Britain s actions, motivated by their wish to control international trade in stride towards their Imperialistic goals of globalizing their trade network to maximize profit and control. As information was gathered on Southeast Asia, Britain became increasingly interested by the potential value of native goods. With the additional help of developing technology at the time, Britain was able to gain control via despotism. The imperialistic rule was successful as encountered regions in Southeast Asia had always easily controlled by global powers, until indigenous voices in India and China were finally heard in their fight to push back against Britain s greedy actions. Britain had found it necessary to expand their reach in India and China for various reasons, some of which being to spread Christianity, creating more ports for sailors, and benefitting trade networks. However India and China found fewer benefits in Britain s motives and their message was eventually heard as the indigenous fought Britain s globalization tactics that were not mutually beneficial but could be found on the agenda of British Imperialism. The Taiping Rebellion and The Indian Mutiny, sometimes referred to as the Sepoy Mutiny, were sparked for different reasons but both took place after the British gained influence on their respective territories. • 4. Cause Concussions In Soccer The game of soccer requires many crucial aspects to fully understand and control the game to where you can shine your brightest, however, with the banning of heading the ball, it may delay your progress. With the new US soccer guidelines on heading the soccer ball being banned from being taught till the age of 14, it seems to be quite ridiculous. From being friends with many who play soccer and to having entire family members coming from a background of play soccer and heading in balls, it may come to be a shock. Many of the best soccer players in the world such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi started playing at such a young age and went through the many mechanics that go forth with soccer including heading which have contributed heavily towards their careers. Though heading in soccer may cause concussions at certain times, it doesn t conclude the fact that a significant amount of concussions are caused by the physicality of the sport. Soccer is a contact sport which entails for a concussion to occur at a type of dynamic. I believe that heading in soccer should not be banned due to the reasons of the physicality that is involved in soccer and as well as heading not being the major indication of concussions during play and as well as chances of getting a concussion through heading the ball. The world of soccer is an immense sport with millions of fans and athletes that are all over the playing this interesting game, however, what if you take away heading? Soccer is ... Odysseus family loves him very dearly and has done no wrong as he was away. Penelope, unlike Clytemnestra, stays loyal to Odysseus and even creates an ingenious plan to keep the suitors off her back. Telemachos on the other hand has to deal with the suitors who are trying to marry his mother and have been dishonoring his father, Odysseus, eating their fill since they sat their butts on the stools they deem as weapons. Telemachos can t even stand up to the suitors as Agamemnon s son took revenge on the people who killed his father. This shows how Telemachos should be as a son and will soon be as he grows up to be more like his father. Menelaos had a long homecoming due to the gods, just as Odysseus had. Menelaos angered the Egyptian gods, due to the lack of knowledge of Egyptian customs. He was able to get home with all of his crew, unlike Odysseus, who was a lone survivor. Although Menelaos had an easier homecoming than Odysseus, he did not have a faithful wife, just like Agamemnon. Helen was the reason for the Trojan War; for Menelaos it was not easy to forgive an unfaithful wife to that degree. Ironically, it could be argued that it was only after the question of Irish independence had been essentially removed from politics in Scotland, that the Catholic Church discovered a sense of nationalism in the journey for political power and influence. Moreover, the Catholic Church could not put a stop to their flock s identification that voting Labour was a basic issue of class. Catholic activists, up until 1914, were predominately in the form of the United Irish League. It could be argued that the United Irish League had skillfully garnered the Catholic vote in support of Irish nationalism. This was based on the premise Irish Catholics in Scotland feared Labour politics were dominated by Protestants and could lead to secular education. Essay on Two Methods of Defending the Trinity Two Methods of Defending the Trinity Christians believe in one God, yet the apparent contradictory nature of the Trinity is such that it has caused many to doubt whether Christianity is indeed monotheistic. This has consequently caused Christians to defend their monotheism in relation to the Trinity. In the two such defenses that are studied in this essay, we find that Christians have explained the nature of Trinity with varying degrees of effectiveness and success. Timothy the Patriarch defends the Trinity before the Caliph Madhi with few compelling arguments, and Gregory of Nyssa explains it in a more abstract and therefore more effective way. Each however defends the Trinity according to his understanding of it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Timothy offers several apt analogies comparing the Trinity to earthly things, yet he fails to offer a compelling argument to refute the Caliph s simple yet powerful statement: If He is one, He is not three; and if He is three he is not one; what is this contradiction? (69). The most obvious of Timothy s logical errors is that he assumes (naturally) that the Son of the Trinity is in fact the Christ or Messiah of the Hebrew Scripture. He therefore refers to Hebrew Scripture to show that the Son is equal and not subservient to the Father: God, therefore, called Christ a Lord through the prophet David, and since no true lord is a servant, it follows that Christ is not a servant (82). The flaw in this logic, or at least the reason for its failure to convince the Caliph, lies in the fact that the Caliph cannot believe that Jesus is the Christ. The logic is also flawed from a modern point of view, for there the writers of the Hebrew Scripture knew neither Jesus nor the concept of the Trinity. It would therefore be anachronistic to use such references or to claim for example that the We of the creation story in Genesis refers to the Christian Trinity. For example, Bollywood music is set up as its own story. Sumanyu explained it similar to as if it had its own beginning middle and end with its own climax and falling actions. More often than not, Bollywood music is connected to some film, with its own plot line and story. Because of this distinct story within a story aspect, as Sumanyu describes it, most songs are able to stand on their own, yet still maintain a powerful and meaningful message. Additionally, there are several instruments that are often heard in Bollywood music. I was told that the tabla, hollow drums that produce a very deep, echoing noise; tambura, something similar to an elongated guitar, and bansuri, a flute, are often ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 27. The Godfather Conflict This quote highlights the basis half of the plot and conflicts of the The Godfather, and half of what led to it becoming the American classic it is. From 1972, this inspirational film explores a highly romanticized version of the Italian mafioso culture. With most of the plot being split into either family, business, or the conflicts when they overlap. this drama has to dig deep to hook onto emotions that we can relate to. Based on Mario Puzo s novel, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, and acted by both experts and amateurs alike, The Godfather was produced masterfully. While we may not be able to identify with the overall business side of the story, we are able to do so with the half closer to home. The exceptional usage of the three hours allows this film to not seem rushed while having us hang onto every word. Personally, the part of the film that really sold this as one of my top movies was the dual family/business nature of the most of the plot as well as how Michael compared to Vito in being the Godfather.. Even when Sonny is brutally peppered by bullets from a dozen Barzini buttonmen, Vito offers a ceasefire opportunity. Michael simply had them all assassinated because it would be easier and more efficient overall. For example, the frequent observation that was made throughout the experiment was that heat was felt. The Economic Impact of the Olympic Games Abstract Since de Second World War , there has been a substantial increase in the range of events worldwide, varying from single day fetes and fairs to major sporting and cultural festivals. There is also a trend towards the construction of mega venues catering for conventions, trade shows, art and sporting events. The proliferation of events, and event producing agencies, has resulted in the need for the performance of events to be evaluated more stringently. Event managers and planners are now being called upon more often to prepare comprehensive post event evaluations with detailed accounts of the impacts of the event. As many special events require financial assistance from governments and businesses in order to be staged, post event evaluations are required by such agencies that need to assess the value of their investments. Evaluation is also required by event organisers who need to justify their activities to a diverse set of stakeholders, which includes sponsors, funding agencies, economic and tourism development agencies, special interest groups, and the ... • 30. Postmodernism s The Swan As A Metaphor For Love Postmodernism is a very unique era within American literature. In previous time periods authors wrote very structured eventful stories that would often relate to the most common themes of the time, however Postmodernism completely defied this formula. In most cases Postmodern stories do not have story arcs nor do they have common themes. At most, the Post era can be bound by very vague similarities. Most of the stories are conveyed through streams of conscious, which is essentially using an unedited snippet of someone s life to create a story. There are no inner monologues or poetic speeches, rather they only showcase a small scale continuous sliver of life. The narration device similarity is cut and dry, however this can not be said for the themes within Postmodernism. In the vaguest of words, Post era literature can be bound within a common ideal of expressing the terrible and disappointing aspects of life. One of the most commonly attacked aspects of life is the sense of love. In most forms of art and media love is portrayed as a glorious thing so long as it is true. Love can conquer any mountain and defeat any foe, however Postmodernism portrays love in a very different manner. In The Swan as a Metaphor for Love love is compared to a swan. On the surface swans are seen as majestic creatures, similar to how love is seen as a beautiful emotion, but underneath the water swans are revolting creatures covered in swan shit and pond scum . The Special Relationship Between The Uk And The United States It was only because of the special relationship with the USA that Britain could exert an influence on international affairs in the years 1951 to 2007. Assess the validity of this view. The Special Relationship between the UK and the US relates to the unusually close relationship between these two world powers that has developed over the 20th and 21st centuries. They have an incredibly tight co operation on such a wide variety of things, ranging from trade and economics to military power, nuclear weapons and intelligence; one that is almost unprecedented in history for two separate nations. After the Second World War, when the relationship was crystallised by the term it became one as much of personal friendships as of political power; and given the closeness developed between the two nations as a result of wartime, it became a keystone of post war politics in both countries, having significant impact in both of their subsequent histories, and also those of other nations. Some of these relationships have been iconic in their pairings: Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan; Tony Blair and George Bush; Churchill and Franklin Roosevelt (who were in fact related); whilst others have been less fruitful Anthony Eden, a man previously considered to be the authority of his time on foreign policy, having been Foreign Secretary for 30 years, had to resign as Prime Minister following the Suez Crisis and its resultant deterioration of the trust and relationship he had with ... There is almost a complete absence of white sprinters in the top 100 times in the 100, 200, and 400m races. This cannot be coincidence that different races excel at different sporting events. Entine goes on to state All of the 32 finalists in the last four Olympic men s 100 meter races are of West African descent. The likelihood of that happening based on population numbers alone blacks from that region, now living around the globe, represent approximately 8 percent of the world s population is 0.0000000000000000000000000000000001 percent (34). • 38. Essay on Plato on the Existence of Negative Forms Plato on the Existence of Negative Forms The question of the origin and nature of evil in the world has preoccupied philosophers throughout history. The ancient philosopher Plato does not directly address this question in his writings, but it can be argued that the logic of his theory of forms demands the existence of forms that are negative in meaning, such as the evil and the bad. When discussing his theory of imitation, Plato alludes to the principle that whenever there are many things of the same nature, there is one form for that nature. In several passages, Plato makes mention of many negative things. It can be debated, however, whether or not the negative has a positive ontological character of its own for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He writes: Now, the god either because he didn?t want to or because it was not necessary for him to do so, didn?t make more than one bed in nature, but only one, the very one that is the being of a bed. Two or more of these have not been made by the god and never will be. Why is that? Because, if he made only two, then again one would come to light whose form they in turn would both possess, and that would be the one that is the being of a bed and not the other two.[2] Plato is saying that there is only one form for the many because there is a single nature that is recognized as unifying each of the many. It is this nature that imitates the form and since the nature is one, there can only be one form. There are several points in the Republic where Plato alludes to many instances of a negative quality, so it can be argued that, according to Plato?s system, there must be one negative form. For the purpose of analyzing Aristotle?s criticism of Plato, David Ross outlines three distinct respects in which a term can be considered negative.[3] The first category of negative terms that Ross identifies are those which are ?purely negative in their meaning? such as the ?not good? or ?not beautiful.? What the many not good have in common is the absence of being good.
