1. Market Failure Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of market failure can be a challenging endeavor, requiring a
comprehensive understanding of economic principles, market dynamics, and the intricate
mechanisms that govern the allocation of resources in an economy. The complexity of the topic
demands a deep dive into various economic theories, including externalities, public goods,
information asymmetry, and government intervention.
One of the difficulties lies in the need to strike a balance between theoretical concepts and real-
world examples to illustrate the nuances of market failure. The essay should not only delve into
the root causes of market failures but also analyze their implications on societal welfare. This
involves navigating through economic literature, empirical studies, and case analyses to provide
a well-rounded and substantiated discussion.
Moreover, addressing counterarguments and alternative perspectives is essential to present a
thorough and unbiased exploration of the topic. The task becomes more intricate as it requires
critical thinking to evaluate the effectiveness of potential solutions, such as government
regulations or market-based mechanisms, in mitigating market failures.
Effective communication is another challenge in writing a market failure essay. Conveying
complex economic concepts in a clear and accessible manner for a diverse audience, including
those with varying levels of economic knowledge, demands a skillful use of language and
effective structuring of ideas.
In summary, writing a market failure essay involves navigating through the intricate terrain of
economic theory, empirical evidence, and practical implications. It requires a blend of research
skills, critical thinking, and effective communication to deliver a comprehensive and compelling
exploration of the topic.

2. Lake Powell Research Paper
Lake Powell Draining Issue
There have been many discussions involving the drainage of Lake Powell, but
with each argument there is reasons why we should keep it or why we shouldn t.
In the year of 1963 Lake Powell officially became a recreational park and known as
one of the largest man made reservoir in the United States. The dam was built for the
advantage of having water stored for other states who might need it. In the year
1963 two diversion tunnels in the Glen Canyon dam were closed in order to begin
Lake Powell to fill. Throughout the years the water levels of Lake Powell have
lowered, causing people to worry that this lake is diminishing rather than a
benefitting the environment. By 1980 Lake Powell was at its full pool which was ...

The Glen Canyon dam supplies water to several states in the upper and lower
basin... including California, Arizona, Nevada, and Mexico receive 8.23 million
acre feet of water each year from the Glen Canyon Dam. (Glen Canyon Dam:
Economic Benefits). When states are in a drought they have the ability to take
water from the lake in order to provide water to their living area without this access,
these states would be in crisis. In order for this to work, there are certain water
agreements and rules are set to maintain fairness and efficiency. Under the
Colorado river was apportioned between the seven user states in both the upper
and lower basin. This agreement is responsible for water development along the
Colorado and its tributaries and also acts to control water flows (Glen Canyon
Dam: Economic Benefits). There are seven states that use the water from the lake.
Mexico, California, Arizona, Nevada and many others, are the primary users of
this lake when they are in a drought. People of opposing views believe that because
of the amount of evaporation that occurs in the lake now it would be the best route
to let it drain and having moving water up and downstream which will have a bigger
effect on the environment. This may cause different issues within the states. Issues
that occur in these states are the environmental hazards such as fires, droughts, and
many other hazards that can be affected from not having enough water. The loss of
Lake Powell would simply allow for more water in the system (Glen Canyon
Institute). With the drought issue arising this reservoir is helping by allowing those
states take the water necessary in order to suffice their needs of hydration. Some
people who are on the opposing side might state that the research found is not
applicable due to the power they want to have over you,
3. Communication in Global Business
Communication in Global Business. The use of computers and the Internet in
workplaces are becoming more pervasive and the functions performed using
computers are dramatically increasing. The influence of technology will go beyond
new equipment and faster communications, as work and skills will be redefined
and reorganized. This will lead to paperless and people less offices. Companies
understand the need to respond and adapt to the evolving use of technology by their
customers, stakeholders and suppliers. Technology adoption typically occurs in an S
curve with exponential growth of technology adoption from early adopters . Not only
is the diffusion of individual technologies exponential, but the rate of diffusion is
accelerating and with each new technology release the early adopters and early
majority move further to the left. It took more than 70 years for telephones to reach
50% household penetration, compared with 28 years for radio, and 10 for internet
access. Following this trend, the rate of technology adoption should continue to
accelerate so that each new technology outpaces the adoption of its predecessor. This
is going to directly affect current type of office. The changing office is strongly
influenced by the young new workforce (Generation Y). Generation Y s expectations
are being formed by the technologies they surround themselves with. They adapt their
lifestyles to each new technological invention and they won t accept that the brands

How important has nationalism been in shaping our modern world? Do you believe
that the appeal of nationalism will diminish in the future?
Nationalism has been extremely important and influential in shaping the modern
world we see today, causing revolutions, rebellions and the constant reshaping of
world maps continuing even today. Its appeal is something that I don t believe will
diminish in the future. Many theologians and political commentators alike agree that
Nationalism has perhaps been one of the most prominent political ideologies of the
modern world No single political doctrine has played a more prominent role in

Modernist philosophers agree that modernism is only possible in a developed
industrial society, where a strong economy provides a strong backbone for the nation
s development, there is a presence of a centralized authority and the nation is
connected through a single common language in which everyone can communicate
with each other4. Although not known as a nationalist, the father of communism
Karl Marx described nationalism has being the transformation from feudalism to
capitalism, and saw nationalism as nothing more than a trend which would soon
pass5. However this was not the case, the industrial revolution stirred up patriotic
sentiments throughout Europe, especially Germany, France and Great Britain,
which lead to an arms race powered by industry, this played a major role in the lead
up into WWI. Modernism continues to shape the modern world even today, a form
of modernism much like the one seen during the industrial revolution can be seen in
places such as India and China, who are currently experiencing their own version of
the industrial revolution. It can also be seen in the middle east where political
movements such as the Muslim brotherhood have stepped into power in places such
as Egypt after a revolt against the former dictator President Mubarak in 2011, which

Blackbeard: The Most Notorious Pirate of the Restoration When people think of the
golden age of piracy many things come to mind. From buried treasure, sword fighting,
stealing loot and drinking rum, the golden age of piracy is one of the most exciting
elements of the restoration period. Along with those elements there were many
famous pirates that highlighted the restoration. Although there were many famous
pirates of the restoration period one name usually comes to mind, Blackbeard. His
iconic image has shaped the way that the world has viewed the history of pirates.
From hollywood movies to video games, his fearsome personality and ruthless
behavior has made a huge impact on popular culture. Although some believe that
Blackbeard was greatly romanticised after his death, Blackbeard was the most feared
pirate of the restoration period because he instilled fear in the hearts of people who
happened to cross his path by taking what he wanted, and utilizing his fearsome
image to establish his reputation as the most iconic pirate of the restoration.
The golden age of piracy began in the 1650s and extended all the way through the
1730s. Little is known about blackbeard before he began flying the black flag. In
many books and articles his name is often given as either Edward Teach or Edward

these water testing kits one was able to see how much contaminants are floating in

In 1982 a store in Maidenhead is opened by Mike Ashley. It s the birth of Sports
Direct. However this name was not the first one. Indeed, it was called primarily
Mike Ashley Sports. In the 1990s, the founder opened many stores in and around
London and over 100 stores across the United Kingdom. By that time, the name of
the chain was changed to Sports Soccer. Although the high number of stores, Mike
Ashley was a sole trader and his chain did not acquire the company status until
1999. By doing so, the borrowing power of the company increased and in 2002 he
went on to buy Lillywhites, the prestigious sports shop in Piccadilly Circus. In
2005, Sports Direct acquired Hargreaves, Gilesports, Streetwise in 2006, and Field

10. Selfishness In Chrysanthem, By Ayn Rand
Ayn Rand Although Ayn Rand may have achieved a lot during her lifetime from
writing novels, writing plays, and screen writing. But what stands out the most
about her character is her extreme selfishness. She believed that you won t achieve
anything in life if you believed in the idea of altruism. She was self interested and
her number on priority was herself. Without her arrogance and selfishness, she
would ve never got to where she got during her lifetime. In order for someone to
achieve success they must do whatever is necessary. Her arrogance and selfishness
are the reasons which led her to success and achieving her goals. She said that no
one s happiness but my own is in my power to achieve or to destroy . She
encouraged others to worry about their needs and ignore the needs of others.

bottle of milk and give it to your starving child, it is not a sacrifice; if you give it to

selfishness to be an act of evil but she considers it to be a requirement of survival.

12. Panacea By Dorothy Allison
Dorothy Allison s essay, Panacea, recalls the fond childhood memories about her
favorite dish, gravy. Allison uses vivid imagery to cook up a warm feeling about
family meals to those who may be a poor family or a young mother. Appeal to the
senses shows this warm feeling, along with a peaceful diction.
Before she begins the essay with the imagery, Allison adopts a persona of a mother
who is formerly poor as a child, and now middle class with a large family. This is
when she describes her past in an anecdote, and when she moves to describe cooking
for her son and family. Her persona responds well to her intended audience, who may
be poor families experiencing rough times, or young mothers in need of something to
relate to.
Warm feelings ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Allison uses peaceful words to build upon the dominant effect. Words such as
simplest, tastiest, memory laden, and wonderful. Wonderful is significant, because
it occurs three times in the essay. She uses it to describe Christmas, when she
smells her duck gravy, and when Wolf exclaims that the gravy is wonderful. The
use of wonderful may be to signify a valuable time to Allison, her failed Christmas
goose, the scent of her perfect gravy, and the satisfying time when her son finally
appreciates her gravy. These words add to the intention of warmth using content
words by showing, through speech, the peace she feels in the time the essay takes
place.
Allison does not simply say that the duck gravy tasted delicious, she describes it to
show the reader that it is indeed wonderful. She discusses the process of cooking
the gravy, and talks about each ingredient and how it appeals to all the senses.
Paragraph two on page 164 is basically a paragraph saying that her gravy is finally
reminiscent of her mother s, which is delicious according to Allison. She uses
rhetorical devices as well. She asks a rhetorical question after Wolf rejects her
gravy. How could my child not like my gravy? This is saying that she does not
understand how someone related to her reject the beloved gravy. She uses zeugma
when she says, Blew on the gravy to cool

The Landolt iodine clock reaction is a well known experiment characterised by a
notable clear to blue colour change. This experiment is often used to determine the
rate at which reactions take place. This colour change transpires when I2 reacts
with 1% starch and NaHSO3 to form a blue starch and iodine solution. The rate of
reaction is accurately recorded with a stopwatch as soon as the blue colour change
is visible to the human eye. Rates of chemical reactions can be defined as the
amount of a particular reactant consumed in mol/L per second (Anon, 2017) These
rate laws have crucial effects in everyday life. There are five factors that affect a
reaction rate. These are known as temperature, concentration, the presence of a...

The second variable that will be tested is temperature. If a liquid is heated the
particles are given more energy and move faster and faster expanding the liquid.
(Jones, 2000) When the particles have more energy they move around more and are
thus more likely to collide which speeds up the rate of the reaction. The opposite
also becomes true when the temperature is lowered. This will be shown in the
experiment by two separate tests. The first will be conducted in a hot water bath at
70в„ѓ and the second in an ice bath of 0в„ѓ. It is commonly thought that the blue
colour change will occur faster at a warmer temperature and very slowly in a
freezing temperature. This experiment studies the kinetic reaction of a potassium

14. Essay On Evaluation Of Teaching
The Evaluation of Teaching Methods In US Universities Even the smartest students
have certain classes that they cannot focus in, no matter how hard they try.
Everyone knows that no one is exactly the same; for example, identical twins may
look identical at first glance, if you look more closely, you will notice differences
between the two. This basic concept applies to teachers and professors too. Every
teacher has a different teachingmethod, some people may think that the teaching
methods are the same, but it is slightly different. This difference may be due to the
different subjects that the teachers are teaching or just the difference in personalities
and teaching styles that each teacher has. These differences greatly affect students
performances in numerous of ways that one could not possibly think of. I had
observed in several of my classes to compare and contrast different teaching styles
from my professors and the students behaviors depending on the subject and the
professors. The classes that I have observed include General Chemistry 1, Calculus 2
and Asian Behaviors and Thought (ABT). Two of these classes are the main subjects
with the last one is a general educationclass in order to see the differences better and
if there are any similarities. Calculus 2 and ABT are both classroom based courses. I
chose to observe General Chemistry 1 because unlike the other two classes, this class
is a lecture, which means there is no doubt that the teaching methods of the
15. Summary Of Mumu By Ivan Turgenev
The paper starts off with a phrase which goes on to be explained further on. Almost
every intellectual claims to have the welfare of humanity, and particularly the
welfare of the poor, at heart: but since no mass murder takes place without its
perpetrators alleging that they are acting for the good of mankind, philanthropic
sentiment can plainly take a multiplicity of forms . I understood this phrase from a
wrong perspective until I went ahead to study what exactly the author Theodore
Dalrymple meant by this saying. The story of two European writers is one I
enjoyed, having to see how two people could have just about the same live, or need I
say the same events take place in their lives, can two people be so exact and at the
same time be so different? Ivan Turgenev and Karl Marx, were both born into this
world on the same day in 1818 and died the same day in 1883, whenever Turgenev
saw something single like men, Marx saw classes or a group of men. Turgenev s
story Mumu was one about the days of serfdom, garasim who was a deaf servant,
served his master, and later on discovered a puppy who he loved so much, he then
took care of the puppy and nurtured it but his master was not ok with having the
puppy around, with everything that was done in other to keep the puppy away from
garasim, the puppy still made its way back to him. At the end, the master ordered that
the puppy be killed because of its disturbance and garasim volunteered to kill the

states that obesity is harmful to almost any part of health, from reproductive and
respiratory function to brains. It raises the risks of several debilitating, and lethal
diseases, including diabetes, heart disease, and some cancers. From these points, it
is not laborious to recognize that social media is decreasing net citizens health
levels indirectly. Social media also leads to mental problems, especially to teenagers.
Teenagers who engage with social media during the night could be damaging their
sleep and increasing their risk of anxiety and depressive illness. Teenagers talked
about the pressure they felt to make themselves available, and the resulting anxiety if
they did not respond immediately to texts or posts(Udorie, J).

Within the text A Palace Thief by Ethan Canin, Hundert, a history teacher in St.
Benedict s, believes that he will mold his students characters. He then meets
Sedgewick Bell, a student who influences his code of morals.
A major ideology that Hundert believes in is that with the assistance of history, he
will develop good character and high ideals in the minds of his students. He believes
that with these characteristics his students would become great men in the future. In
the text when Hundert is asked by Senator Bell what is the benefit of teaching his
students history, Hundert replies saying, When they read the reign of Augustus
Caesar... advances lead mankind away from the brutish rivalries... into the two
centuries of Pax Romana, then they understand the importance of character and high
ideals. It is important to note how Hundert is able to say this statement without
hesitation and declares that he is well prepared. This statement contributes to the idea
of Hundert s commitment of using great men of history to mold such qualities into
his students. Hundert believes that he should mold such characteristics into the minds
of his students because he was mindful of the the role the ...students would eventually
play in the affairs of our country. , As stated before, Hundert teaches at an elite private
school and he had taught the sons of nineteen senators, during his time there. As he

Too many students aren t sure what job they could get after four, five, or even six
years of studying a certain major and racking up education loans (255). Singletary is
given the fact that numerous students are confused on their own majors even though
they have studied for years. And parts of the students even start realizing their majors
might be in a hopeless employment situation after they graduate from that particular
field. Therefore, before choosing a field of study, it is necessarily worthwhile for
students and parents to check out the majors whether in the highest or the lowest
unemployment. According to new statistics on unemployment for recent college
graduates by The Huffington Post this June, majoring in social science and creative

unemployment rate in his article, ...More than half of all humanities graduates end up
in jobs that don t require college degrees... (250). The society has never shown mercy
to students who are unlikely to be employed with the majors they have. Graduating
without employment must be one of the biggest nightmares for most students;
however, selecting an in demand major can surely decrease the chances of being

her tumor and sent to the culture lab. Inside the lab, George Gey grows the
cancerous cells that began to divide into hundreds of cells that became known as the

After some idle conversation and a cordial goodbye, we watched Graham drive

decorating our sensational new space. Vince s thoughts were about pulling the
money together. Once we were safely on the E45 pointed in the right direction to
Orvieto, Vince spoke first. I m going to ask Johannes if we can see the apartment

what a great idea, oh, I can t wait to decorate, I said with great enthusiasm. I know

him a deposit tomorrow. The first thing I am going to do I continued with
comments about what was important to me, is get rid of all those old lady curtains
Ann has having in every widow. I don t want any curtains anywhere, I want to keep
the space light and airy. Nonetheless, we will need some kind of window covering
on the terrazzo door to shield us from the sun in the summer. I bet it gets hot in that

dress codes because they become gender bias, they stunt the growth of individuality,

today s world, divorce is very common and is sad, because according to the Bible
when the decision is made to get marries, the two people have to work things out.
Matthew 5:31 32, It has been said, Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a
certificate of divorce. But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for
sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a
divorced woman commits adultery. This verse is what most people today are
doing. They are having sexual affairs with other people and then get a divorce and
that is a sin. They also are looking to television shows as the fairy tale marriage and
expecting marriage to be just like what is shown on tv. Divorce was something
taken seriously but now it is a common way for people who want out. Sinning is
very common today, from lying, stealing, adultery and murder. These are all sins
that are becoming middling each and every day. What kind of world is the world
turning into? It is scary to think about and to think about what the world is going to

Business And...
INTRODUCTIONThe introduction of the concept of stakeholder theory can be
traced back in the 1960s (Stoney and Winstanley, 2001),however the concept gained
grounds with the publication of Freeman s (1984) book, Strategic Management: A
Stakeholder Approach. Till now most writers with stakeholders as a central theme
have shown numerous theoretical and empirical studies about this concept
(Donaldson and Preston, 1995). The concept about stakeholders in an organisation is
very paramount, however, far too less work have been shown to consolidate and
implement the study, that can help the realistic use of stakeholder managementin our
contemporary firms (Donaldson and Preston, 1995). This essay strive to critically
evaluate how stakeholder managementcan have impact on business and management
practices and decision making. In answering this question, this paper will attempt to
air the view of other relevant articles or authors to solidify, yet a demonstrative
approach to successfully manage stakeholder relations. HOW TO IDENTIFY A

As you look back into history you see that war is created for several different
reasons. In this paper I will be reviewing the relationship between war, territory, and
arms races on a dyadic level of analysis. Scholars have come to various conclusions
on different aspects of these two theories and I will discuss and evaluate a few
different perspectives or angles of each theory to see how they help contribute to the
creation of warbetween two interstates.
When examining the relationship between territoriality and war one might find
several different approaches to the connection between the two aspects. Territoryand
war have long been related between interstate wars for a long period of time. As you
take a look at past wars and how territory has played a major role in the escalation of
conflict you will find several different angles to the situations. One angle that has
shown vital data to relationship would be territorial contiguity between interstates.
When territory are contiguous to one another from past history it shows the
interstates are more likely to have disputes with one another. You could also
breakdown the terms of contiguity into proximity, interaction, and territoriality to get
an in depth view of a matter.
In Contiguity and Military Escalation in Major Power Rivalries the article discussed
the effect that contiguity has on nations decisions, particularly rivalry nations, of
escalating a conflict into war. The article broke down contiguity in terms based on

Schindler s List
The film Schindler s List has a tendency to simplify and sentimentalize the character

The documents before Court contain that the teaching of art, like that of most other
subjects taught in public vocational education schools, is conducted essentially or
indeed exclusively in the English language. It follows that the knowledge of the
Irish Language is not required for the performance of the duties which teaching of
the kind at issue specifically entails. The national court has to decide whether the
linguistic requirement in question is justified by reason of the nature of the post to
be filled . The Irish Constitution says: 1) The Irish language as the national
language is the first official language, 2) The English language is recognized as a
second official language, 3) Provision may be made by law for the exclusive use of
either of the said languages for any one or more official purposes, either throughout
the State or in any part thereof.
Irish is not spoken by the whole Irish population. The Irish government designed this
policy to maintain and to promote their identity and culture. Teachers have an

the school and the privileged relationship which they have with their pupils. In those
circumstances it is reasonable to require them to have some knowledge of the first
national language. Community law requires that power to grant an exemption is

Et tu, Brute, Just like Caesar, King Duncan met their demise from the blade of a

Duncan is among the most menacing of crimes. Although Macbeth commits the
murder, his wife instigates the entire plan. Lady Macbeth forced Macbethinto
murdering the King which puts Macbeth in a delusional state where he questions his
actions. The premeditated murder of King Duncanin Shakespeare s play Macbeth
can be blamed on one person only, Lady Macbeth. Even though the blood is on
Macbeth s hands, literally, the plan was not set in motion until Lady Macbeth
organized the slaughter. Macbeth fully shows his belief in the concept of Happy

35. Feminism And The Feminist Theory

Feminist Theory Research Paper
Though feminism and the feminist theory are often construed as the same
philosophy, the two are related, yet different concepts. Feminism is defined as, the
theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes (Merriam Webster
Dictionary). In turn, a feminist is an individual who believes that men and women
should be equal politically, economically, culturally, and socially (Definitions of
Branches of Feminist). However, the feminist theory is not simply the belief that the
sexes should be equal or that women have been historically subjected to lower status
and treatment than men. Rather, the feminist theory is the culmination of many
beliefs about men, women, and gender roles; mainly, the feminist theory addresses
how gender roles are unequal and how gender influences aspects of everyday life (
Feminist Literary Theory ) (Moffitt). In this way, the feminist theory can be used to
analyze a variety of texts, including the poems, the Siren Song by Margaret Atwood
and It s a Woman s World by Eavan Boland. Both poems display connections to the
feminist theory, particularly in how gender roles and inequality between the sexes
influence the poets purposes to address male and female stereotypes and encourage
change. Although Atwood did not initially intend to debate political and ethical
questions in her works, many of her books and poems do exactly that.
36. Year Round School Advantages
The children that watch a lot of Tvs have lower grades, don t read as much and
could have health problems. In the summer they watch TV and don t get exercise. If
you go to year round school you won t have much time to watch TV. Year round
schooling is positive because it gives students more frequent breaks to relax, it
improves test scores, and there is no summer school.
Year round schooling is unlike regular schooling in many good and bad ways. An
example is how schooling year round will save time in school and outside of
school. Due to the shorter summers schooling year round would make you have
more frequent breaks and gives you time to shift their way of thinking from less

Some ways they help the school is some schools use a multi track system which the
school is divided into four tracks then 3 out of 4 tracks could be in school while
the other track could be on vacation and they switch out. The multi track system
helps overcrowded schools and stress of having too many students. Another thing
that helps the schools is portable room dividers that also helps to solve
overcrowding. The room dividers create more flexible space and it quickly
changes the look and use of any given space at any time. Finally the last way to
help the school is to help the achievement gap. The dropout ratings of schooling
year round are 2% but the dropout rate of minority school is 5%! Schooling year
round has lower dropout ratings because they have less time to adjust to being off of
school.
Schooling year round keeps kids on task, help retain information better and even if
you don t get time to work in the summer with minimum wage jobs, schooling year
round makes high school graduates earn about $11,000 more per year than minority

38. The War Of The American Civil War
Image Over the course of four years, what would later be called the bloodiest time
in U.S. History, approximately 625,000 lives were taken during the American
Civil War. Although the individuals who fought and died in both the North and
South were arguably against each other politically, economically, socially, and
emotionally one main point lost to them was that they had common ground in
being a part of a newly formed nation in America. It can be argued that conflict
arises in all parts of human nature and with America supporting a population of
young men with newly found power and influence after the ratification of the U. S.
Constitution it perhaps should not be such a shock that so many lives were lost to
not only to war, but disease as emotions of the North and South divided people and
stood them against one another. As we look back over history and conflicts as they
arise among populations, one central theme of war is the possession of resources
from which profit can be made. The areas of the North and South were not immune
to this trend and as the divided issue of slavery became more prominent, conflict
grew. Between the years of 1854 to 1856, Kansas and events therein played a vital
role in the outbreak of civil war. By 1854, Republicans of the North sought to end the
forward movement of slavery while the Democrats in the South supported the
advancement of slavery west and farther south, thus supporting the Kansas Nebraska
Act, as it went along with their political
