Weeks 6 7 Zambia Trade Tour Assignment Worksheet The exchange rate of a country measures the
external value of the currency. To a country such as Zambia the market for foreign exchange is very
important. Its own currency, the kwacha is not a hard currency and thus not universally accepted in
payment of debt. Zambia relies on generating foreign currency from selling exports to enable it to
finance imports. The macroeconomic situation such as the balance of payments position, employment
and inflation are all influenced by a country s exchange rate. Hence it becomes a key economic policy
inconsistent. Step 1 What is your understanding of the terms below? Exchange rate The price of one

Carson 2015 Student Number: 1302170 Words: 2113 Critically discuss the value of the concept of
social defences, in explaining why organisations* may fail to meet their primary task. Introduction
Freud (1894) believes the ego uses defense mechanisms to protect itself from anxiety, which arises as
a byproduct of the conflict between the competing demands of the id and the superego. Building on
Freud s theory, Klein (1959) theorised that the infant experiences anxiety in its first few months of life
and deals with it by splitting and projective identification. The internal persecutory anxiety is

The analogy of an iceberg is often used to demonstrate that what lies below the surface of the water
(the unconscious) is greater than that which is visible above the water (the conscious). These anxiety
defense mechanisms are important in that they shape an individuals behaviour, which in turn will have
an effect on the individual within and organisation and in turn can affect the organisation as a whole,
not least as regards anxiety that arises when confronted by change. Using these psychoanalytic
theories, this paper will give a greater insight into the understanding of the functioning of
organisations, with an emphasis on anxiety and change and the ways in which individuals and groups
defend against this thus failing to achieve the group s primary task. This paper will use ideas that
began with Freud and further developed by Klein and then Bion particularly Bion and his study of
groups. *For the purpose of this essay, the terms group and organisations will be used intermittently. A
Potted History Before the 1930s, the investigation of groups and organisations was not a generally
recognised theory of study (De Board, R 1978). Psychoanalytic theory initially concentrated on
individuals and was first extended to group life by Freud (1922) Later, Melanie Klein s (1946) object
relations theory both built upon and departed from Freud s theories and

The History Of Psychedelics
Psychedelics are widely believed by the scientific community to be the oldest substances to be used by
human ancestors. Ancient cultures from almost every corner of the world have some form of history
with psychedelic drugs. Associate Professor Emeritus at Harvard Medical School Dr. Lester
Grinspoon has claimed that there is overwhelming archeological evidence supporting the notion that
humans have used psychedelics for thousands of years as part of religious ceremonies (Grinspoon and
Bakalar 1983: 16 23). Mescaline containing cacti found in 2005 by archeologists and carbon dated to
3780 BC (El Seedi et al. 238 242) suggest that Native Americans valued peyote s naturally produced
psychedelic, mescaline. There is also an abundance of literature

Examples Of Irony In The Plague
The main irony in The Plague is the way Camus treats freedom throughout the book. The people of
Oran become prisoners of the plague and the whole city becomes quarantined by the Prefect when
death tolls hit 30 people a day. It can be questioned whether they were really free before the plague,
considering the way they lived out their lives from day to day. Every day the populace would wake up
work and then gamble in the evenings and a lot of people in Oran take their loved ones for granted.
Only when the plague becomes really bad and people start to die or are ultimately separated by
quarantine from their friends, lovers and families do they realize how they should have loved and
cared for them.
In the very beginning of the epidemic, the citizens ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Camus was an atheist and didn t believe that death, suffering, and human existence has any real
rational meaning. Since Camus didn t believe in God or the devil, Camus saw humans as mortals,
living under a crazy and completely absurd death sentence. However, Camus did believe that people
are capable of giving their lives meaning hence when the people of Oran were starting to give up, they
banded together and worked to end the death and suffering of those that have been infected or affected
by the plague. Although Camus was an atheist, in The Plague religion can be found in the book
coming from the Jesuit priest, Father Paneloux. He preached that this was God s way of separating the
good from the bad, saying that this only happened because God s compassion for the evil doing in the
town ran out and it was time for the people there to realize the real meaning behind their lives.
(Malcolm 26) Paneloux basically believed that the plague was for the good of the townspeople.
Although this is here, Father Paneloux is the only character with religious beliefs. Other main
characters such as Dr. Rieux, John Tarrou and Raymond Rambert lack those religious beliefs and
believe that there is no logical reason behind the cause of the

The Case And Remedies Of An Arkansas Capital Murder Case
In an Arkansas capital murder prosecution that had resulted in conviction and sentences of death based
on the killing of four members of a family defense counsel learned after the conviction had been
reversed that a key prosecution witness, the defendant s son, who testified against his father
implicating him in the murders at trial, has also given prosecutors a statement in which he claimed
responsibility for the crimes and exculpated his father. Defense counsel moved to dismiss the
prosecution on the ground of prosecutorial misconduct, but the Arkansas Supreme Court rejected the
prior jeopardy claim and permitting the retrial to proceed, while referring the prosecutors involved to
the court s Committee on Professional Conduct for consideration of possible ethical violations. On
retrial, the defendant was again convicted, although his son did not testify against him at this
proceeding. Issues of prosecutorial misconduct in this case and remedies for misconduct are examined
in this article.
INTRODUCTION: THE BILLY DALE GREEN CAPITAL MURDER CASE
When Billy Dale Green was first tried and convicted of the capital murders of four members of an
Arkansas family and sentenced to death in an Arkansas circuit court in 2004, the prosecution s key
witness was his son, Chad. Having pleaded guilty in return for a 20 year sentence, Chad testified that
his father had smoked methamphetamine together before his father killed the couple and their two

I Love Alzheimer s Research Paper
Why I chose This Topic I ve always loved the holidays. It s a mostly stress free nostalgic time to enjoy
with friends and loved ones. Best of all, holidays normally mean gifts and plenty of good food! The
celebrations are great, but it seems that at most every family Christmas or Thanksgiving, we are on the
edge of our seats and nervous. I ve found that I am unable to concentrate on the festivities because my
mind is wandering, thinking of our other loved ones. Since I can remember, we have always had a
family member plagued with cancer, tumors, or other grave diseases. That being said, the ailment I ve
feared most is Alzheimer s. I ve seen too many loved ones forget their relatives and eventually their
spouses because of this disease. I am ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of my main questions was whether I could do anything emotionally to cope with Alzheimer s and
with that search I had better luck. One of my favorite pieces of information I found was to face your
feelings head on think of all emotions...positive and negative...be as sad as you want...work through
anger and frustration...these are healthy feelings...it s common to feel love and anger at the same time
Taken from a paper published on ( Alzheimer s Association website ). The next thing I found that
helped me personally was how to deal with guilt, personally I ve experienced feeling guilty when
taking a break or not being there for my grandma when she needed me, as well as regretting things I
had done before knowing about the illness. Something interesting I found that I would ve never
thought of was to continue to participate in as many activities as possible.( Alzheimer s Association
pg. ) I also found that a good way to keep an emotional connection longer is to personally connect
with the sufferer. A few ways to do that is to keep eye contact with throughout the conversation, to
always refer to them by name when talking, continue the conversation as long as possible because is
makes the person with AD feel better about themselves, and be aware of the body language you re
presenting ( Grief and loss as Alzheimer s progresses pg. ). I would say the most essential piece of
information I learned was the best thing I can do is just comfort the person with AD and make their

A Good Friend
In today s world, many people are backstabbing and downright terrible. A good person, much less a
good friend is hard to find. It may be difficult for one to figure out who their true friends really are,
and in a time of need, one may be left wondering if they have any friends at all. Good friends are
usually found in small groups, maybe even just two people. A good friend is someone who cares about
you and will almost never let you down. To me, a good friend is loyal, is someone you can laugh with,
and is someone who can give you advice. Most importantly, a good friend will be loyal. For example,
a good friend might put their best friend at the top of their priority list when it comes to spending time
with them. A few weeks ago my best friend Makenzie invited me to go spend the day with her and her
family at Clarkco State Park where they were camping. Although I had already made plans to go on a
date with my boyfriend that day, I decided to cancel the plans with him in favor of spending time with
Makenzie. Best day ever in my opinion. On the contrary, a good friend will not go behind their friends
back. Even Though two best friends may not agree with each other every once in awhile, they will
never talk badly about them or share their friend s secrets. Obviously, the most important defining
quality of a good friend is their loyalty. Additionally, a good friend is someone who can laugh with
you. I personally am very clumsy, and my best friend definitely knows that. The

The Major Effects Of Concussions In The NFL

Concussions in the NFL
Has the NFL done enough to help prevent concussions? That is the question that many people are
asking, including people who are currently in the NFL. The NFL has been in a bit of controversy over
the past couple of years due to players and doctors coming forward and talking about concussions
caused by playing football which can lead to longer and more extreme damage to the brain. The NFL
has been in a well known lawsuit from former players. The players are suing because of receiving
concussions while playing football and not being given proper treatment. The NFL has had to make
new rules and introduce a stricter policy when dealing with concussions. Advances in technology have
made it possible for people to be able to research and understand what caused the concussion and how
to prevent it. The NFL is now trying to come up with new ways to prevent concussions from
happening. Concussions can be limited in the NFL.
One of the problems of the NFL not dealing as well with concussions is the fact that not many people
used to know of the major effects that a concussion can have on the human brain. A concussion is a
type of traumatic brain injury caused by a blow to the head (NFL Concussions). Common symptoms
of concussions are: imbalance, headache, confusion, memory loss, loss of consciousness, vision
change, hearing change, mood change, fatigue, malaise (NFL Concussions). After suffering repeated

Globalization Is A Good Or Bad Thing Essay
The question people are asking themselves is whether globalization is a good or bad thing. For many
years, there have been concerns about whether globalization has an impact on language. How exactly
can it affect a person, and if it does in what ways? What if nobody is able to understand you?
Immigrants find themselves in this situation quite often; this phenomenon is called linguistic isolation,
and argues against globalization and how it leads to the extinction of indigenous languages and
beliefs. While other people view globalization as an easier way to communicate, evolutioniza, and a
technique for everyone to unite and helps bring us closer together. Globalization can be seen to
support and strengthen communication between millions who have completely different cultures.
Globalization aids us by being able to assist us in communicating across different cultures. There has
been an increase debate on how language defines our cultural self. Globalization is eagerly increasing
in today s world quite rapidly taking a toll effect in dialects. This increase in globalization has many
effects on language, both positive and negative. Globalization is affecting language in which it is
causing it to become endangered because many people seem to be distressed in society and the native
language population is decreasing. People are coming to the realization that the Native language is
becoming lost to globalization, because there is a lack of cultural distinctiveness. In the article,

Vasodilator Therapy
The treatment options for NOMI are medical management and emergency surgery. If complications
such as secondary peritonitis and sepsis co exist, the treatment plan should be tailored accordingly.
Other existing complications and incidental findings for treatment regarding Mr. S. s case will be
covered in this section.
Medical Management. Most cases of CI are resolved without surgical intervention in the absence of
perforation or necrosis (Brandt et al., 2014, p. 36). Treatment starts with removing the possible cause
of vasoconstriction or treating hypotension. To improve mesenteric perfusion, infusion of vasodilators
such as papaverine may be beneficial (Tilsed et al., 2016, p. 262). Vasodilator therapy is
contraindicated if surgical intervention is indicated, which will be discussed below. Papaverine is
chosen over other vasodilator agents because studies found that it reduced mortality rates in the setting
of NOMI (Tilsed et al., 2016, p. 262). Drugs that may cause vasoconstriction or contradict include
digitalis, kayexalate, NO Xplode, and nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) (Brandt et al.,

Critical Assessment Of An Essay
Critical Assessment
When writing an essay it is essential to allow for the piece to develop and become its own organic
living being. The author must allow for the paper to make mistakes therefore it can review itself and
correct any confusion. This procedure of making and amending blunders can occur as many times as
possible for the paper to fully evolve. Thenceforth the author must be able to look objectively at their
essay and evaluate how effectively the message is being portrayed. The capability to adequately
evaluate and reflect upon one s essay is what separates the good essays from the superb ones. The
essential criteria to what makes a good essay is an accomplished thesis statement, lively transitional
wording, and impactful verb choices.
While examining my first essay i quickly identified its shortcomings relative to my essential criteria. It
was clear to me that my thesis statement lacked directness and did not properly engage the reader. It
was too narrow in scope, while, correspondingly failing to provide the reader with direction for the
rest of the paper. The thesis was probably the main downfall of the entire essay because it was difficult
to tie in what i was writing back to a weak thesis statement. Additionally the paper had close to zero
transitional phrases and when they did appear they seemed awkward and forced. This resulted in an
essay that felt choppy and probably was uncomfortable for the reader to process. The reason for
having transitional words

The students themselves were annoying, but add in the teachers, it was pure chaos.

about it.
Daydreaming again, Jill The teacher smiled at me. I looked up from my phone.
No I m just bored I said, she gave me a sad smile before continuing with her lecture. I shook my head

It s like every teacher expected me to be a good girl. It was my destiny to push my brother down, but
that didn t mean that I couldn t take the whole school with me.

prince could compare to how he played football. It was his only talent, I called him brain dead whilst
the school called him the miracle we needed . I always rolled my eyes when they said it. I was the bad
girl of the school while he was the good guy.
I didn t want to grow up and smash my brothers crown . I wanted to be apart of the king s royal guard,
protect something, not just become a criminal.

Essay On Stanislavski
Constantin Stanislavski was known as a Russian direction and stage actor who had discovered and
developed a naturalistic performance technique, which is now known as method acting. Stanislavski
was interested and started to work in the theatre business when he was only 13, and developed himself
into becoming a director (Bishop and Jones). He was born in Moscow, Russia in 1863 and by 1897 he
has already developed his own company known as the Moscow Art Theatre, where performances used
method acting and actors were allowed to express their personal emotions into the piece. Stanislavski
was known for his infamous phrases such as stage direction , as these were the building blocks of
modern opera and helped writers such as Maksim Gorki to produce his work ( Constantin Stanislavski
).
Stanislavski s goals were to make the performances on stage look more natural and more realistic.
This was done through a series of techniques called the the Method ( Constantin Stanislavski ). Some
of these techniques were channeling emotional memory, other were more about the given
circumstance of the character s situation at hand. These techniques were watched and analyzed by
psychiatrists to see how the actors would react. Some techniques such as the emotional ... Show more

The Song Of Songs In The Book Of The Bible
The song of songs it is a well known but not so well understood book of the Bible, it s 8 chapters of
love poetry and while there are an introduction and a conclusion, the book doesn t have any kind of
rigid literary design and that s because it is a collection of poems. They are not meant to be dissected
or taken apart. They are meant to be read as a flowing whole and simply enjoyed. The first line of the
book tells us that it is the song of songs which is a Hebrew idiom like, the holy of holies or the king of
kings it is a Hebrew way of saying, the greatest thing, this is the greatest song of all songs. We are told
in the first line that this song of songs is of Solomon, which could mean that he is the author, his name
does begin the book after all. But as I read the poems, I discover that the main voice of a woman,

The main objective of the ADEA is to prevent companies from singling out their older employees
when going through layoffs or restructuring. Employers who are found guilty by the commission shall
be punished by a fine of not more than $500 or by imprisonment for not more than one year or by
both. The Equal Pay Act of 1963 The EPA requires employers to provide men and women with equal
pay for equal work in the same organization. Employers may not pay unequal wages to men and
women who perform jobs that require substantially equal skill, effort, and responsibility within the
same organization. In the event that an employer is found guilty will be subject to a fine of $10,000, or
sentenced to imprisonment six months, or both. The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986
(IRCA) The IRCA applies to employers in the United States, even if the employer only employs one
employee. The IRCA applies to every fulltime part time, temporary or seasonal employees. The IRCA
enforces the national immigration policy. While its provisions are complex, three basic features of the
law are particularly relevant to employers (Cascio, 2013, p. 88): 1. Employers may not hire or
continue to employ unauthorized aliens (i.e., those not legally authorized to work in this country). 2.

Masculinity Theory From Novels Of Treasure Island, By...
Joseph Kestner writes, In Treasure Island, Hawkins is forced to achieve an identity, but this process is
riddled with ambiguity, including the fact that Jim commits murder and remains haunted by the
experience as a nightmare, (Masculinities in British Adventure Fiction, 1880 1915). He specializes in
masculinity theory from novels written in the late nineteenth century. Kestner can relate to Jim
because he is forced to become a new person, kill a human to save his own life, and questions why
situations happen. Unlike in Stevenson s text, Wyeth s illustration depicts Jim s stereotypical
masculinity through poses and symbolism, thereby suggesting his gendered maturation begins in a
domestic rather than adventure setting.

Jim s pose shows that he is unemotional compared to his mother who is positioned behind him. In this
illustration, Jim is shorter than his mother, but Wyeth uses the technique occlusion to make Jim appear
larger than he actually is. Wyeth uses this technique to demonstrate the importance of Jim, implying
that he is clearly the most powerful character. In the nineteenth century, gender roles were vastly
different than they are today; for example, females acted feminine and showed their emotions, while
men acted emotionless and tried to act tough. Wyeth shows this by having Jim posing in a way that
accentuates his masculinity; he has a wide stance and his shoulders are pulled back. His stance shows
his confidence, while his mother s stance shows skepticism. Jim s mother is crying and she is allowed
to show her emotion, while Jim is trying to hold back his tears. Since Jim s father had recently passed
away, this image shows that Jim is ready to assume his father s role as the man of the house. Jim is
transitioning from adolescence to adulthood, which is seen at the point in the novel when he is about
to set out on an adventure at sea. Their relationship would be diminished by the inability to see each
other all the time. But, Jim is no longer dependent upon his parents, rather he is now an independent
person, and this is shown in the illustration.

Milk Curd Mass Lab Report
Title
Which type of milk produced the greatest amount of curd mass?
Purpose
The purpose of this lab was to determine which type of milk produced the greatest amount of curd
mass.
Background Information What is milk curd? Milk curd is a secondary result of the effects of acid and
enzymes on milk proteins and lipids. When acid is added to milk, this causes the milk to separate into
curds and whey (Suleiman).
Cow s milk is made up of 87% water and 13% solids; these solids include minerals, lactose, fats, and
proteins. Chemically, these milk proteins are made up of the two main proteins: casein and whey.
3.4% of milk solids contain these two main proteins ( The Chemistry of Milk ). The specific milk
protein casein makes up 80% of this composition ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the Type of Milk vs. Curd Mass lab, it was found that Fairlife Ultra Filtered Milk produced the
most amount of curd mass. Because this dairy company Fairlife reconstitutes the composition of the
milk after it is pasteurized, this creates a higher ratio of protein to other milk components. The Fairlife
Ultra Filtered Milk produced on average 5.6 grams of curd mass. The Whole milk, which was the
control, produced on average 3.4 grams of curd mass. Whenever there is a higher amount of protein
present in any type of milk, these proteins will denature when mixed with acid and much more curd
will be present. This lead to the greatest amount of curd mass in Fairlife Ultra Filtered Milk in
comparison to the whole milk, lactose free milk, and organic milk.

10 Important Criteria to Choose a Pc
1. Processor (CPU)
Processor refers to CPU (Central Processing Unit) which is the brains of the computer where most
calculations take place. In terms of computing power, processor is the most important element of a
computer system. Without it, a computer cannot even boot up or running. The performance of
processors determines the speed and the performance of the notebook as well. Whether a computer
system can run smooth or not is also depend on the performance of processor.
Most of the processors of notebooks can be divided into two types, which are Intel based and AMD
based. AMD chips usually less expensive and notebooks based on them are cheaper then Intel based
notebooks. But compared to AMD chips, Intel chips consume less power so ... Show more content on

This will let us know what upgrade potential the system has. Then, we need to look at the ways in
which you intent to use your laptop in order to determine the right amount of system memory, or
RAM needed. If you only need your laptop to perform the usual tasks of emailing, typing on word
processing, spreadsheets, etc. then a standard RAM of 256MB should be enough, which is a common
configuration on most laptops, hence you probably won t need to spend more for more RAM.
However, for storing digital photographs and videos or other multimedia contents, you should equip
your laptop with as much RAM as it can accommodate. Certainly the more memory in a notebook
system the better, but there are other concerns regarding memory in notebooks. Notebooks are
generally more restricted in the amount of memory that can be installed into a system.
The rule of thumb that use for all computer systems for determining if it has enough memory is to
look at the requirements of the software intended to run. Pick up the boxes for each of the applications
and the OS that you intend to run and look at both the minimum and recommended requirements.
Typically you want to have more RAM than the highest minimum and ideally at least as much as the
highest listed recommended requirement.
It is best to check the requirements of the intended software to make the final decisions. This is not
accurate for all computer tasks because some operating systems use more memory than others.

Essay on ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA
Three landmark pieces of legislation have been enacted within the last forty years; ERISA, COBRA
and HIPAA. Each one of these laws was created to foster development and improvement in the
welfare of the wage earners, job seekers, and retirees of the United States. The mainstays of these
three pieces of legislation are to improve working conditions; to add advanced opportunities for
profitable employment, protect employees, and to assure work related benefits and rights. What is
ERISA? ERISA stands for Employee Retirement Income Security Act. ERISA regulates the

Congress enacted COBRA as a provision of ERISA to provide continued coverage for those who have
lost their employment, including terminated employees; this law is also responsible for amending the
Internal Revenue Code and the Public Health Service Act. The three main elements to qualify for
COBRA are specific criteria regarding plans, qualified beneficiaries, and qualifying events. Group
health plans for any employer who has 20+ employees for more than half the fiscal year is subject to
COBRA. Qualified beneficiaries outlined by COBRA include any individual covered by the plan,
including the employees spouse and dependent children; qualifying events are outlined by COBRA
and specific causes for loss of health coverage that makes individuals eligible for benefits. COBRA is
also used to notify, track, and document facets of compliance in accordance with outlined statutes. To
fully understand COBRA, it is necessary to know the meanings of qualifying events, qualified
beneficiaries, and continuation coverage. These qualifying events include, death of the covered
employee, termination or reduction in hours of employment, divorce or legal separation, dependent
child ceasing to meet the health plan s definition of a dependent child, and covered employee
becoming eligible to Medicare benefits under the Social Security Act. Qualified beneficiaries

assurance engagement is a reduction in assurance engagement risk to a level that is acceptable in the
circumstances and this is associated with a negatively expressed assurance opinion, such as that
nothing has come to the auditor s attention to persuade them that the information has been materially
misstated * A significant difference between a related services engagement and an assurance
engagement is that the auditor does not have the discretion to undertake evidence collection
procedures outside those that have been agreed upon * The auditor therefore only issues a report of
factual findings to the parties that have agreed to the procedures being performed, in which no
conclusion is communicated and which therefore expresses no assurance * An assertion based
assurance engagement requires the auditor to issue an opinion on written assertions made y others * A
direct reporting assurance engagement requires the auditor to provide assurance on the accountability
matter on which the responsible party has not made a written assertion

3 Metal Roofs
Overview of 3 Metal Roof Types For Residential Use
If your home needs a brand new roof, you may be researching all of the materials available to you to
narrow it down. While metal can be a popular choice, there are different kinds of metal materials that
have their own pros and cons. Understand the differences so that you can make an informed decision.
Steel Roofing
A common metal material that is available to you is steel. This is because its popularity is often due to
its affordability, while also being a durable material that can withstand flying debris, high winds, and
frozen rain.
Steel roofs can benefit from having a zinc coating applied to them. It helps steel require less
maintenance over the years, since the coating will help the material ... Show more content on

It s cheaper than using copper, but will cost more than using steel. The biggest drawback with
aluminum is that the metal is soft, so it should be avoided in areas that have flying debris or high
winds that cause impact damage to a roof. The material does weigh much less than other metal roofing
materials, so it does tend to be installed faster and easier than copper or steel.
Aluminum will hold up well in climates that have a lot of rain, since the material will not corrode like
other types of metal roofing. You can purchase the material in shingles or sheets, which are usually
painted after they are installed to improve the overall aesthetics of the roofing material. This will
require additional maintenance over the years to give the material another coat of paint.
Copper Roofing
One of the most expensive metal roofing materials will be copper, but many homeowners go with it
because it s unique and beautiful in its appearance on a home. The material is also incredibly durable
with it being hard to damage, and it will not require any maintenance or cleaning after it is installed.
This makes it great for large homes that create difficulties when trying to access the roof.
A unique attribute of copper is how it is a heavy and thick roofing material, and its size won t change
when facing extreme heat in the summer. The material also changes color as it gets older to a green
blue hue, called the patina process, which is an aspect of it that many people like.

If the portion size is too small, consumers may consider Chipotle as inadequate place to go when they
are hungry. In addition, if the customers go Chipotle with the expectation of filling up their stomach,
but the perceived performance is lower than the expected performance, consumers would be
dissatisfied with the service. Nevertheless, Chipotle has to consider that portion size is usually larger
in the US than in the Europe. Researchers compared restaurants in Philadelphia and in Paris, and
found that American restaurants served on average 25% more food than their French counterparts
(Shuster, Vigna, Sinha Tontonoz, 2012). The difference is even bigger for beverages served in fast
food restaurants. Currently, McDonald s small sized drink served in the US contains 16 ounces of
liquids, which is 18% more than the medium sized drink (40cl, approx. 13.52 ounces) served in Spain.
Taking into account the data above, Chipotle may reduce its current portion size served in the US by
approximately 25% when it enters to Spain. By doing so, Chipotle may save significant amount of
material costs while still live up Spanish consumers expectation about the portion

Negative Impact Of Social Media
Social media has given businesses a newfound advantage when it comes to reaching out and touching
the community and expending its brand. As a student at California Baptist University, I am majoring
in Public relations. I have recently learned that in the world of public relations, most businesses and
organizations use social media on a daily basis. With the right amount of research and time being
invested, businesses can see all the benefits that expanding on social media has to offer. The
accessibility of social media platforms for everybody has made it easier for all businesses and
organizations to become more successful. With the rapid change in technology, social media platforms
have been increasingly growing. The use of social media is a more easily accessed and personal way
of communication. It has allowed businesses to create their brand awareness and productively
advertise. Although social media can become a strong asset, it can also negatively effect a business.
We are currently living in the era of technology; every child, student, parent, and employee uses one
or more social media platforms on a daily basis. Some of the most visited and worldwide platforms
being used are Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and Snapchat. In a recent study done by Pew
Research center their social media fact sheet states, When Pew Research Center began tracking social

The morality about sex had a main aim: An ideal of purity based on a chastity code which emphasized
the relevance of premarital continence. In order to keep this chastity code, anything related to sex was
silenced in an attitude of deliberated ignorance, an attitude of rejection of sex, especially in women,
who usually associated sex with a marital duty. The Victorian education tried to introduce, especially
in young men, an attitude towards women based on respect. They were taught to think of women as
sisters or even as angels rather than human beings. This kind of education tried to separate completely
love from sex and it was not especially oriented to girls because women were supposed to not have
any kind of sexual desire. Any kind of sexual expression is limited to marriage, and even, sexual
relationships in marriage were only justified for procreation. The main source of this code of purity
and virtue is the resurgence of Puritanism in the last decades of 18th century (Methodism and
Evangelical movement). There was a revival of the old traditions which were very conservative and
especially repressed of any sexual behaviour. The Victorian Age s morality also condemned any kind
of sexual reference in literature. Victorian critics demanded from serious literature a didactic content
and respect to the Victorian conventions which established that sex

Paragraph On William The Conqueror
William the Conqueror
William was young at this time in his life, but that didn t mean he would back down from a fight.
William was already the ruler of Normandy and this, the battle of hastings would give him his second
country to rule. Although he would become ruler of England he still didn t go there much he lived in
Normandy, and was a very respectable and experienced ruler, under his reign the church flourished.
William the conqueror in the battle of hastings. September 27 is when things started going William s
way, the wind shifted and started moving them right into England. Directly after reaching shore
William decided to make his move and as stated in the document William I. William rallied the fleeing
horsemen, however, and they turned and slaughtered the foot soldiers chasing them. On two
subsequent occasions, William s horsemen feigned retreat, which fooled Harold s soldiers, who were
then killed by their opponents. Harold s brothers were also killed early in the battle. Toward nightfall
the king himself fell, struck in the eye by an arrow according to Norman accounts, and the English
gave up. (par.1) this quote shows that William knew what he was doing and did the right thing and
also that he wasn t scared. William was about to become a ruler of another country.
William was already good and experienced at ruling so thus should be no problem for him. William

Each of the members of the jury perceived the murder according to their own beliefs, values and

backgrounds and interactions. The most important factors that influence perception is personality,
learning and motivation.
The juror that strongly believes that the defendant is guilty is a very rude man and biased. A factor that

I believe that Henry Fonda s decision to disagree with the original vote of «guilty» was not based on
his firm belief that the defendant was innocent. At first Fonda bases his vote for the sake of discussion
after all, the jurors must believe beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant is guilty.
He supports the belief that a defendant is innocent until proven guilty. Also he takes into consideration
that the case is about a matter of a life or death of a young man and that must decide wisely about the
verting. Fonda is the voice of reason even as he realises that this may free a murderer. His strength lies
in finding the weak spots in arguments, which make it easy for the juries to change their mind.
3)Why do you think Henry Fonda was so successful in changing the attitudes and perceptions of the
other members of the jury?
Fonda is the natural leadership of the juries. In addition, he takes advantage of the jurors complex
personalities to convince the other jurors that a not guilty verdict might be appropriate. As a result he
persistently and persuasively, forces the other men to slowly reconsider and review their vote.
He supported his beliefs with strong evidence. One of them refers to the claim that the case of

Pair Bonding Thesis
Neural Basis of Pair Bonding
Pair bonding is defined as a close relationship between two individuals. To understand the neural basis
of pair bonding it would make sense to consider monogamous species since monogamy is based on
pair bonding. On the other hand polygamy supports mating with several individuals which does not
necessarily support bonding with only one individual. Most of the studies done on pair bonding used a
monogamous rodent, the prairie vole. Prairie voles form a long term bond with their partner after
multiple mating and tend to spend the rest of their life with the same partner. These voles spend more
time with their partner than a stranger vole. This characteristic is considered ... Show more content on

We have already discussed how the importance of vasopressin in social behaviors. Central
administration of vasopressin facilitates monogamous typical behaviors in male prairie voles
through the vasopressin V1a receptors (V1aR) in the brain (Winslow et al., 1993). It would be
interesting to compare how vasopressin activity differs between the monogamous and
polygamous voles. Turns out it is not the amount of vasopressin but the distribution of V1aRs in
the brain which varies considerably between monogamous and promiscuous vole species (Insel
et al., 1994). Lastly to emphasize Vasopressin s role in neural basis of pair bonding, an
experiment done by Lim et al (2004) is included. These researchers did an amazing experiment
to investigate if inserting V1aR gene vole could induce partner preference in polygamous voles.
The vasopressin receptor (V1aR) is highly expressed in Ventral palladium. It is located within
the ventral forebrain, which is a part of limbic system. In this experiment a group of polygamous
meadow voles were used as subjects. Researchers inserted the adeno associated viral (AAV)
vector containing the prairie vole V1aR gene into the ventral palladium. The control voles

Management and Organisational Dynamics (The Psychoanalysis of Groups and Organisations) Cheryl Carson 2015 Student Number: 1302170 Words: 2113 Critically discuss the value of the concept of social defences, in explaining why organisations* may fail to meet their primary task. Introduction Freud (1894) believes the ego uses defense mechanisms to protect itself from anxiety, which arises as a byproduct of the conflict between the competing demands of the id and the superego. Building on Freud s theory, Klein (1959) theorised that the infant experiences anxiety in its first few months of life and deals with it by splitting and projective identification. The internal persecutory anxiety is projected onto the breast and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The analogy of an iceberg is often used to demonstrate that what lies below the surface of the water (the unconscious) is greater than that which is visible above the water (the conscious). These anxiety defense mechanisms are important in that they shape an individuals behaviour, which in turn will have an effect on the individual within and organisation and in turn can affect the organisation as a whole, not least as regards anxiety that arises when confronted by change. Using these psychoanalytic theories, this paper will give a greater insight into the understanding of the functioning of organisations, with an emphasis on anxiety and change and the ways in which individuals and groups defend against this thus failing to achieve the group s primary task. This paper will use ideas that began with Freud and further developed by Klein and then Bion particularly Bion and his study of groups. *For the purpose of this essay, the terms group and organisations will be used intermittently. A Potted History Before the 1930s, the investigation of groups and organisations was not a generally recognised theory of study (De Board, R 1978). Psychoanalytic theory initially concentrated on individuals and was first extended to group life by Freud (1922) Later, Melanie Klein s (1946) object relations theory both built upon and departed from Freud s theories and ... Ancient cultures from almost every corner of the world have some form of history with psychedelic drugs. Associate Professor Emeritus at Harvard Medical School Dr. Lester Grinspoon has claimed that there is overwhelming archeological evidence supporting the notion that humans have used psychedelics for thousands of years as part of religious ceremonies (Grinspoon and Bakalar 1983: 16 23). Mescaline containing cacti found in 2005 by archeologists and carbon dated to 3780 BC (El Seedi et al. 238 242) suggest that Native Americans valued peyote s naturally produced psychedelic, mescaline. • 6. Examples Of Irony In The Plague The main irony in The Plague is the way Camus treats freedom throughout the book. The people of Oran become prisoners of the plague and the whole city becomes quarantined by the Prefect when death tolls hit 30 people a day. It can be questioned whether they were really free before the plague, considering the way they lived out their lives from day to day. Every day the populace would wake up work and then gamble in the evenings and a lot of people in Oran take their loved ones for granted. Only when the plague becomes really bad and people start to die or are ultimately separated by quarantine from their friends, lovers and families do they realize how they should have loved and cared for them. In the very beginning of the epidemic, the citizens ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Camus was an atheist and didn t believe that death, suffering, and human existence has any real rational meaning. Since Camus didn t believe in God or the devil, Camus saw humans as mortals, living under a crazy and completely absurd death sentence. However, Camus did believe that people are capable of giving their lives meaning hence when the people of Oran were starting to give up, they banded together and worked to end the death and suffering of those that have been infected or affected by the plague. Although Camus was an atheist, in The Plague religion can be found in the book coming from the Jesuit priest, Father Paneloux. He preached that this was God s way of separating the good from the bad, saying that this only happened because God s compassion for the evil doing in the town ran out and it was time for the people there to realize the real meaning behind their lives. (Malcolm 26) Paneloux basically believed that the plague was for the good of the townspeople. Although this is here, Father Paneloux is the only character with religious beliefs. Other main characters such as Dr. Rieux, John Tarrou and Raymond Rambert lack those religious beliefs and believe that there is no logical reason behind the cause of the ... The Case And Remedies Of An Arkansas Capital Murder Case In an Arkansas capital murder prosecution that had resulted in conviction and sentences of death based on the killing of four members of a family defense counsel learned after the conviction had been reversed that a key prosecution witness, the defendant s son, who testified against his father implicating him in the murders at trial, has also given prosecutors a statement in which he claimed responsibility for the crimes and exculpated his father. Defense counsel moved to dismiss the prosecution on the ground of prosecutorial misconduct, but the Arkansas Supreme Court rejected the prior jeopardy claim and permitting the retrial to proceed, while referring the prosecutors involved to the court s Committee on Professional Conduct for consideration of possible ethical violations. On retrial, the defendant was again convicted, although his son did not testify against him at this proceeding. Issues of prosecutorial misconduct in this case and remedies for misconduct are examined in this article. INTRODUCTION: THE BILLY DALE GREEN CAPITAL MURDER CASE When Billy Dale Green was first tried and convicted of the capital murders of four members of an Arkansas family and sentenced to death in an Arkansas circuit court in 2004, the prosecution s key witness was his son, Chad. Having pleaded guilty in return for a 20 year sentence, Chad testified that his father had smoked methamphetamine together before his father killed the couple and their two children, apparently as a result ... Best of all, holidays normally mean gifts and plenty of good food! The celebrations are great, but it seems that at most every family Christmas or Thanksgiving, we are on the edge of our seats and nervous. I ve found that I am unable to concentrate on the festivities because my mind is wandering, thinking of our other loved ones. The next thing I found that helped me personally was how to deal with guilt, personally I ve experienced feeling guilty when taking a break or not being there for my grandma when she needed me, as well as regretting things I had done before knowing about the illness. Something interesting I found that I would ve never thought of was to continue to participate in as many activities as possible.( Alzheimer s Association pg. ) I also found that a good way to keep an emotional connection longer is to personally connect with the sufferer. • 9. A Good Friend In today s world, many people are backstabbing and downright terrible. A good person, much less a good friend is hard to find. It may be difficult for one to figure out who their true friends really are, and in a time of need, one may be left wondering if they have any friends at all. Good friends are usually found in small groups, maybe even just two people. A good friend is someone who cares about you and will almost never let you down. To me, a good friend is loyal, is someone you can laugh with, and is someone who can give you advice. Most importantly, a good friend will be loyal. For example, a good friend might put their best friend at the top of their priority list when it comes to spending time with them. A few weeks ago my best friend Makenzie invited me to go spend the day with her and her family at Clarkco State Park where they were camping. Although I had already made plans to go on a date with my boyfriend that day, I decided to cancel the plans with him in favor of spending time with Makenzie. Best day ever in my opinion. On the contrary, a good friend will not go behind their friends back. Even Though two best friends may not agree with each other every once in awhile, they will never talk badly about them or share their friend s secrets. Obviously, the most important defining quality of a good friend is their loyalty. Additionally, a good friend is someone who can laugh with you. • 14. Critical Assessment Of An Essay Critical Assessment When writing an essay it is essential to allow for the piece to develop and become its own organic living being. The author must allow for the paper to make mistakes therefore it can review itself and correct any confusion. This procedure of making and amending blunders can occur as many times as possible for the paper to fully evolve. Thenceforth the author must be able to look objectively at their essay and evaluate how effectively the message is being portrayed. The capability to adequately evaluate and reflect upon one s essay is what separates the good essays from the superb ones. The essential criteria to what makes a good essay is an accomplished thesis statement, lively transitional wording, and impactful verb choices. While examining my first essay i quickly identified its shortcomings relative to my essential criteria. It was clear to me that my thesis statement lacked directness and did not properly engage the reader. It was too narrow in scope, while, correspondingly failing to provide the reader with direction for the rest of the paper. The thesis was probably the main downfall of the entire essay because it was difficult to tie in what i was writing back to a weak thesis statement. Additionally the paper had close to zero transitional phrases and when they did appear they seemed awkward and forced. This resulted in an essay that felt choppy and probably was uncomfortable for the reader to process. The reason for having transitional words ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Joseph Kestner writes, In Treasure Island, Hawkins is forced to achieve an identity, but this process is riddled with ambiguity, including the fact that Jim commits murder and remains haunted by the experience as a nightmare, (Masculinities in British Adventure Fiction, 1880 1915). He specializes in masculinity theory from novels written in the late nineteenth century. Kestner can relate to Jim because he is forced to become a new person, kill a human to save his own life, and questions why situations happen. In this illustration, Jim is shorter than his mother, but Wyeth uses the technique occlusion to make Jim appear larger than he actually is. In the nineteenth century, gender roles were vastly different than they are today; for example, females acted feminine and showed their emotions, while men acted emotionless and tried to act tough. Wyeth shows this by having Jim posing in a way that accentuates his masculinity; he has a wide stance and his shoulders are pulled back. His stance shows his confidence, while his mother s stance shows skepticism. Jim s mother is crying and she is allowed to show her emotion, while Jim is trying to hold back his tears. Since Jim s father had recently passed away, this image shows that Jim is ready to assume his father s role as the man of the house. Jim is transitioning from adolescence to adulthood, which is seen at the point in the novel when he is about to set out on an adventure at sea. Purpose The purpose of this lab was to determine which type of milk produced the greatest amount of curd mass. Background Information What is milk curd? Milk curd is a secondary result of the effects of acid and enzymes on milk proteins and lipids. When acid is added to milk, this causes the milk to separate into curds and whey (Suleiman). Cow s milk is made up of 87% water and 13% solids; these solids include minerals, lactose, fats, and proteins. Chemically, these milk proteins are made up of the two main proteins: casein and whey. 3.4% of milk solids contain these two main proteins ( The Chemistry of Milk ). In the Type of Milk vs. Curd Mass lab, it was found that Fairlife Ultra Filtered Milk produced the most amount of curd mass. Because this dairy company Fairlife reconstitutes the composition of the milk after it is pasteurized, this creates a higher ratio of protein to other milk components. The Fairlife Ultra Filtered Milk produced on average 5.6 grams of curd mass. The Whole milk, which was the control, produced on average 3.4 grams of curd mass. Whenever there is a higher amount of protein present in any type of milk, these proteins will denature when mixed with acid and much more curd will be present. This lead to the greatest amount of curd mass in Fairlife Ultra Filtered Milk in comparison to the whole milk, lactose free milk, and organic milk. Works Cited Doucette, Kristin. However, for storing digital photographs and videos or other multimedia contents, you should equip your laptop with as much RAM as it can accommodate. Certainly the more memory in a notebook system the better, but there are other concerns regarding memory in notebooks. Notebooks are generally more restricted in the amount of memory that can be installed into a system. The rule of thumb that use for all computer systems for determining if it has enough memory is to look at the requirements of the software intended to run. While metal can be a popular choice, there are different kinds of metal materials that have their own pros and cons. Understand the differences so that you can make an informed decision. Steel Roofing A common metal material that is available to you is steel. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It s cheaper than using copper, but will cost more than using steel. The biggest drawback with aluminum is that the metal is soft, so it should be avoided in areas that have flying debris or high winds that cause impact damage to a roof. The material does weigh much less than other metal roofing materials, so it does tend to be installed faster and easier than copper or steel. Aluminum will hold up well in climates that have a lot of rain, since the material will not corrode like other types of metal roofing. You can purchase the material in shingles or sheets, which are usually painted after they are installed to improve the overall aesthetics of the roofing material. This will require additional maintenance over the years to give the material another coat of paint. Copper Roofing One of the most expensive metal roofing materials will be copper, but many homeowners go with it because it s unique and beautiful in its appearance on a home. The material is also incredibly durable with it being hard to damage, and it will not require any maintenance or cleaning after it is installed. This makes it great for large homes that create difficulties when trying to access the roof. A unique attribute of copper is how it is a heavy and thick roofing material, and its size won t change when facing extreme heat in the summer. The material also changes color as it gets older to a green blue hue, called the patina process, which is an aspect of it that many people like. If the portion size is too small, consumers may consider Chipotle as inadequate place to go when they are hungry. In addition, if the customers go Chipotle with the expectation of filling up their stomach, but the perceived performance is lower than the expected performance, consumers would be dissatisfied with the service. Nevertheless, Chipotle has to consider that portion size is usually larger in the US than in the Europe. Researchers compared restaurants in Philadelphia and in Paris, and found that American restaurants served on average 25% more food than their French counterparts (Shuster, Vigna, Sinha Tontonoz, 2012). The difference is even bigger for beverages served in fast food restaurants. Currently, McDonald s small sized drink served in the US contains 16 ounces of liquids, which is 18% more than the medium sized drink (40cl, approx. 13.52 ounces) served in Spain. Taking into account the data above, Chipotle may reduce its current portion size served in the US by approximately 25% when it enters to Spain. As a student at California Baptist University, I am majoring in Public relations. I have recently learned that in the world of public relations, most businesses and organizations use social media on a daily basis. With the right amount of research and time being invested, businesses can see all the benefits that expanding on social media has to offer. The accessibility of social media platforms for everybody has made it easier for all businesses and organizations to become more successful. The morality about sex had a main aim: An ideal of purity based on a chastity code which emphasized the relevance of premarital continence. In order to keep this chastity code, anything related to sex was silenced in an attitude of deliberated ignorance, an attitude of rejection of sex, especially in women, who usually associated sex with a marital duty. The Victorian education tried to introduce, especially in young men, an attitude towards women based on respect. They were taught to think of women as sisters or even as angels rather than human beings. This kind of education tried to separate completely love from sex and it was not especially oriented to girls because women were supposed to not have any kind of sexual desire. Any kind of sexual expression is limited to marriage, and even, sexual relationships in marriage were only justified for procreation. The main source of this code of purity and virtue is the resurgence of Puritanism in the last decades of 18th century (Methodism and Evangelical movement). There was a revival of the old traditions which were very conservative and especially repressed of any sexual behaviour. The Victorian Age s morality also condemned any kind of sexual reference in literature. Victorian critics demanded from serious literature a didactic content and respect to the Victorian conventions which established that sex ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As the story unfolds, reveals the jurors complex personalities, preconceptions, backgrounds and interactions. The most important factors that influence perception is personality, learning and motivation. The juror that strongly believes that the defendant is guilty is a very rude man and biased. At first Fonda bases his vote for the sake of discussion after all, the jurors must believe beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant is guilty. He supports the belief that a defendant is innocent until proven guilty. Also he takes into consideration that the case is about a matter of a life or death of a young man and that must decide wisely about the verting. Fonda is the voice of reason even as he realises that this may free a murderer. His strength lies in finding the weak spots in arguments, which make it easy for the juries to change their mind. 3)Why do you think Henry Fonda was so successful in changing the attitudes and perceptions of the other members of the jury? Fonda is the natural leadership of the juries. In addition, he takes advantage of the jurors complex personalities to convince the other jurors that a not guilty verdict might be appropriate. As a result he persistently and persuasively, forces the other men to slowly reconsider and review their vote. He supported his beliefs with strong evidence. • 35. Pair Bonding Thesis Neural Basis of Pair Bonding Pair bonding is defined as a close relationship between two individuals. To understand the neural basis of pair bonding it would make sense to consider monogamous species since monogamy is based on pair bonding. On the other hand polygamy supports mating with several individuals which does not necessarily support bonding with only one individual. Most of the studies done on pair bonding used a monogamous rodent, the prairie vole. Prairie voles form a long term bond with their partner after multiple mating and tend to spend the rest of their life with the same partner. These voles spend more time with their partner than a stranger vole. This characteristic is considered ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We have already discussed how the importance of vasopressin in social behaviors. Central administration of vasopressin facilitates monogamous typical behaviors in male prairie voles through the vasopressin V1a receptors (V1aR) in the brain (Winslow et al., 1993). It would be interesting to compare how vasopressin activity differs between the monogamous and polygamous voles. Turns out it is not the amount of vasopressin but the distribution of V1aRs in the brain which varies considerably between monogamous and promiscuous vole species (Insel et al., 1994). Lastly to emphasize Vasopressin s role in neural basis of pair bonding, an experiment done by Lim et al (2004) is included. These researchers did an amazing experiment to investigate if inserting V1aR gene vole could induce partner preference in polygamous voles. The vasopressin receptor (V1aR) is highly expressed in Ventral palladium. It is located within the ventral forebrain, which is a part of limbic system. In this experiment a group of polygamous meadow voles were used as subjects. Researchers inserted the adeno associated viral (AAV) vector containing the prairie vole V1aR gene into the ventral palladium. The control voles ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
