The screenplay Metacarpi is the story of an institutionalized pianist and a lion aspiring friend
whose pursuit of freedom explores ideas of whether we might be happier in an institution if it

When coming up with the story for the script, I first created the character of Dmitriy and the story
grew out of his character. A simple characterization of Dmitriy is a man struggling to free himself,
whose aura of grandeur and potential for greatness is lost on his environment. Out of this came the

example of this would be that at no point in the script does George verbally express that he wants
to dress up as or be a lion, he just does it without talking about it. Instead of explaining it or
mentioning it in dialogue, we have the visual images of George with the lion s mane, George
with the painted on whiskers, and George with the permanently attached stuffed lion tail. The
visual suffices to suggest to the audience that George enjoys dressing up as a lion. The visual was

During my program observation, I observed the local elementary. This elementary educates level
Pre Kindergarten to Second Grade. For my project, I chose the aware and active age of Pre K.
This specific classroom held a variety of ages preparing for kindergarten, starting at five to six

Recently I had a good friend ask me about important prerequisites she needed to take next
semester. One of the classes was communications. She was really nervous and concerned because
she is very shy and uncomfortable doing public presentations. I couldn t have be more excited to
explain my experience in the Introduction to Communications course and how this class can not
only benefit her in the future but also help her feel more comfortable presenting in front of
fellow classmates. I first explained to her that I am in the same boat with being shy. I literally
cannot speak in front of the class without screwing something up because how awkwardly

MFA Thesis Exhibition
Last week I visited the George Caleb Bingham Gallery to see an artist s work. Her name was Mary
Margaret Sandbothe and her collection of art was at the MFA Thesis Exhibition. Now, I am not one
for looking at art and being able to interpret it easily, but when I arrived to see her work I was
pleasantly surprised. I was in awe of artwork at first glance.
First, what I noticed was that the main overlook of all her pieces included same sex relationships
or couples. Furthermore, it exemplified families with same sex parents. For example, there was one
piece that had presented two dads with an African Americanchild. This shows the reality of what
the world is like today. People don t want to accept change, but she is putting it out there ... Show

couples do this. Now, the society we live in people would look at this like it was uncommon, but
slowly people are starting to accept this as the norm. The other piece shown is two men sitting at a

presenting how families do work with same sex marriages if you are open to it. At least that is

Lastly, she had another piece of two men looking marry while holding a newborn baby. This

statement here about our society and its view on same sex relationships.
Now, with that being said, she had many pieces presented in her work at this exhibit and I found
